legitimate question ....... why do people like to tell me all the reasons they don't like miraculous ladybug? i know i complain about the fact a lot, and i find myself on the defensive a lot, and i keep telling myself i'll stop and let it go, but it really is hard when people are always coming onto my posts, in my replies, in my comments, on my art and my fics and my text posts and anything i make, and telling me blatantly all the ways that they don't like the thing that i so blatantly find enjoyment in. "the show is bad". okay? good for you? why are you on my post about it? why don't you make your own? why are you telling me, specifically, this, on the art/fic/analysis i made that i assume you found by searching through the tag?
it's kind of a behavior that i legitimately don't understand. I'm a human being and I hate a lot of things, too. there are things i've loved at first and been disappointed by and have strong opinions about. there are things i like to complain about. so i'll complain about them to my friends or my family or my cat. but i have never, once, not even for a single moment, thought, "oh let me go into the tags of this media, find a positive post about it written by someone who's having fun with it, and make it that random stranger's problem". never once.
i just don't get it. i really don't get it. i sometimes worry that i come across like i'm heavily critical of people who just personally don't like the show, when really i'm just trying to defend my interests to the droves of strangers who are always coming specifically to me to tell me all the ways they hate the thing that makes me happy.
just.......... why? where does the urge come from? what do you get out of this?
#i remember there was a poll a while back asking people if they thought it was ok to tell ml fan creators that you hate the show unprompted#and 'yes' won#and i am still baffled by that#why is this normal?#why would you even want to?#why is it impossible to be an artist/creator on the internet without having to deal with people bitching and moaning in your ear about the#things that you are dedicating your time and energy into for fun?#why is this the acceptable online culture?#you don't have to like the show. im not saying that. im not saying you cant complain or vent#im just saying. why TO ME?#buggachatter

was rewatching fabian’s baron moment on account of it being the most delicious piece of pvp in my recent memory and ally beardsley’s growth as a player just shone through so brightly and with such clarity. after dusting off their shock they immediately asked about the nemesis ward, had enough knowledge about fellow pcs stocked to remember adaine’s ac with such like frustrated confidence and certainty, suggested to siobhan to dimension door out of adaine’s room, like. they came into this making a character with 4 dex. and now the dice deity offered to roll a check to sense if adaine was in danger. making decisions, asking questions, getting invested in the story, trying so hard with the tools they have to save characters from danger; ally beardsley is an incredible d&d player.
#blahblah tried to fly with a ribbon dancer SHUT UP. SHUT UP THEY HAD A VISION.#margaret encino’s call to the guards in battle of the brands is also a good moment#‘bonus action pick up a turtle and kiss it’ is CHARMING and FUNNY and APPRECIATES the art team#i swearrr to god if anyone comments abt them trying to railroad other players' actions. what the fuck do you want from them.#u hate when they play kristen as unserious when she’s literally a teenager with adhd + when theyre literally a comedian on a d&d comedy sho#but if theyre invested in other pc’s welfare youll shut them down too? bffr#ally beardsley you are so special to me#fully aware theyre an adult who likely does not care about people on the internet talking abt how theyre doing their job. as they should#they dont need defending they shouldnt need it people should just be normal abt them and until they are beardsley get behind me#yna.txt#fantasy high junior year spoilers#fhjy spoilers#fantasy high junior year#fhjy#dimension 20#d20#ally beardsley

"Eventually, I will no longer drown from the overflowing of an empty cup"
Pre-Morrison Talia would be the kind of love poets would write for.
Talia al Ghul, with all her history, faults, and flaws, have no means to have had so much love for the people she cherish. But she does...she does.
"We are immortals, Habibi. When others say they love forever, they lie. But we don't have the same luxury. For people like us, forever means eternity, beyond death and even after. It is a curse, my heart. Our curse. For such promise meant to taint such noble feelings— And yet, I will never apologize for loving you."
"Boy Wonder" (2024) #4 by Juni Ba.
#I hate how this is not canon#HC that this is set in pre-morrison & pre-winick universe#Pre-Morrison Talia al Ghul#Talia al Ghul#Batman#Bruce Wayne#Juni Ba triggerrd my sentimentallity#Do you see how we were robbed!? So it should have not have surprised people if talia fans gets defensive#Dc comics#Fanart#Brutalia#Lots of writers tried to redeem Talia...but it just dont stick coz how do you forgive this wrong??? You can't#That's why it will never hapen and I have made peace with that#So I'll just ignore canon and make fanarts on this corner of the internet#This comics makes me feral...dear lord i am in tears#Fudge it#Bruce deserved to be loved like this#And Talia deserved a requited love#But its forever gone now

#i hate the internet a lot of the time but honestly it's quite breathtaking that i can find with a few clicks people who are passionate about#the same things as me! and people proudly being passionate about things i never knew existed!#people creating things and people making jokes and people talking and people loving what they love with their entire heart & soul#its just. its good to see. it makes me feel better.#this post is brought to u by all the talented artists i follow and my online friends#sometimes joy is made of tiny interactions with people u will never meet. someone shows me their art and i say it's beautiful. it changed#my life. and then we go on living#hope#🐝

I think when getting along with other people, its perfectly natural (and entirely inevitable) that you're going to bump elbows with others and treating confrontation/discomfort with a kneejerk "well we have to beef now and turn this small miscommunication/moment of friction into a Whole Thing" reaction, instead of doing your best to give your fellow people the benefit of the doubt, even if you got off on the wrong foot is really key. and in fact an essential skill for any grown adult. especially when operating within and without other communities or cultures
#not trying to be a hot take or anything just a thought#i hope this isnt just coming off as 'why cant we alll just get allonnng' i dont mean it that way per se#I just think especially on the internet people resort way too quickly to#'well you clearly suck entirely and im no longer interested in your perspective'#(disclaimer im not talking abt giving any grace to hate groups thats not what this is abt)#i mean just innocent moments of miscommunication/social clumsiness/cultural clash

I've been making the transition these past few months, but I think I'm gonna just move back to Tumblr. My Twitter's follower-base has reached a point where I can't tweet anything casually opinion-related without it overflowing like a toilet. I post a short thread on my gripes with color design in anime and I'm getting QRT'd with "kill this guy with hammers" reaction gifs. Like, damn, this isn't fun anymore. It's not fun to talk about stuff on Twitter in general anymore. I wanted to post some ship dynamic doodles sometime there, but I know I'm gonna get weirdly aggressive takes and reactions. Monkey's paw curls, but I don't particularly like having that many followers.
#personal#delete later#like i'm generally good at not letting internet stuff get to me#it's dumb and inconsequential and i'm confident in who i am as a colorist#i faced some racist racist racist ass shit last month when some alt right weebs found an old post critting whitewashing#like i've gotten dms from people harrassing me about being taiwanese#but tumblr is so lowkey while twitter will blast qrts in your face going “this guy hates you for your basic ass anime opinion”#and i'm like hm. :/#idk thanks for being chill in general guys. except with the miyazaki post that was a toilet overflow#best thing about tumblr is how easy it is to ignore weirdos or weirdly aggressive people#i'm still gonna post art there but really just art. it's more destructive than constructive to use twitter as a discussion space now

don't wanna derail the post I saw this discussion on- it was all in the notes anyway, so it certainly isn't op's problem. I'm gonna say this with so much love:
Calling somebody a 'theyfab' is not punching up. If someone's being transmisogynistic, say that, or call them a bigot. Naming the tangible harm done to you will always be the most effective thing to do.
The cis people who created that term made it with the explicit intent to mock and insult people's identities. No matter what you mean when you say it, this is its origin and to most people, its only meaning. It describes nothing about the discrimination you face.
People afab are marginalized, especially if they're queer. You cannot "punch up" on a fellow oppressed group. I understand the specific vitriol that they inflict on you hurts.
You don't need a word to call somebody, you need and deserve adequate justice for the tangible harm done to you; and my heart aches that nobody queer- especially trans women- ever seems to receive that.
I'm aware I can't make anybody do anything, so I'm not gonna try to tell you not to use that word. I just want to say it can't ever address, undo, or heal any harm done to you. It can only redirect it.
#da#the og post was about transmisogyny and transfeminism and that was an important discussion I did not wanna elbow into#I'm addressing the people in the notes who were saying they 'NEED' this word in order to 'punch up' to their oppressors#I do feel for every trans woman and transfem having to exist on the internet rn. everyone's being awful to you all from every side#Dearly sorry that fellow afab people are making all your lives such hell#just also know that nothing about the word theyfab describes a bigot. nothing about it explains what harm was done to you.#it serves solely to mock an aspect of someone's identity. because hateful cis people created it to do that#you don't 'need' a targeted insult to use against someone directing hatred towards you.#cannot stress enough that the only group who can reclaim a harmful term is the one it's used against#i completely understand afab people can be particularly awful with their transmisogyny#calling them a theyfab will not help anything. I know. I'm sorry. you're hurt and it sucks. name calling cannot change that

hate to be cynical on main but it really do be like this every single time a new "not like social media" art platform comes out of the woodwork and then people migrate to it in droves just to find out the only other people using it are other artists that they're competing with for any scrape of viewership from an increasingly oversaturated internet that didn't exist when we were teenagers in 2009
#idk who needs to hear this but deviantart wasn't all that#i know because i was there LOL#people got doxxed and hate crime'd on DA all the fucking time#that feeling of having a 'tight knit community' that you miss was just weirdos on the internet having a good time talking to each other#and a lot of people were also having a real BAD time#nowadays every online conversation is quietly prefaced with the expectation that it'll turn into a new follower or shop sale#so people just aren't willing to invest in long-term community building anymore just for the sake of having a community#it's just “will this site help me grow my career?” no the fuck it won't no single site has ever done that for anyone jfc#the internet was also just a lot smaller back then#you were a “big deal” if you had even just 100 followers#sorry to those who aren't ready to hear this but we can't have what the internet was in 2009 again#enshittification
