it was snide — uncalled for, really. there the pair of them were, sitting side by side in the med bay, awaiting treatment after their latest mission. it was a rare occurrence for xiao to have his gloves off in front of others, the sooty black stains caused by his abilities stretching from his fingertips to his wrists. how unfortunate that in this instance it was in front of @lctibule. a scowl rested on defined pale features, golden eyes cold; the itching pain his power caused him was growing increasingly aggravating, and so he was awaiting moira's final prognosis so he could get out of this bed and away from the other. xiao curled and uncurled his fingers as he stared at the door, trying to will the doctor to come through it. he wished it were haru working with him, but it seemed she was avoiding him as of late — avoiding him, but not genji.

his teeth were clenched as he continued to ball and unball his fists, cuts and bruises stinging his face, arms, and chest. it was hard not to think about, how the one person he cared about most (regardless of never vocalizing this) was ducking him — how she'd rather spend time with other people. the two of them used to be inseparable, and part of him loved how she basically tagged close behind him when she came into blackwatch. without her in his shadow though, he felt... empty. what was the point of even being with overwatch if she wasn't alongside him anymore? he'd come here for haru, and now he could barely get three words in with her before she'd vanish (something she was quite adept at). repeatedly cycling through these thoughts only left him angrier, a volatile rage simmering in his gut.

if he wasn't in so much pain right now, perhaps he'd act on it.
