‎ ‎‎ ‎ENFPs are characterized by a monumental curiosity for diverse ideas and associations, navigating life through different (and unstable) interests that resonate with their idea of self. This stereotype is a better descriptor of Extraverted Sensation (Se).

With this stereotype, the ENFP becomes trivialized, representing a generic cheerfulness or some foolish aspect, where anyone who has ideas becomes an ENFP.

This abstract and speculative world leads the Ne-dominant to live in a sea of options and hypothetical speculations whose contact with reality occurs through constant redirection towards new tastes and unexpected associations, withdrawing the ENFP from any constancy or maintenance. There is an abrupt, almost violent change of interest, in the short, medium, and long term, which often radically reshapes the way the ENFP sees the world.

‎ ‎‎ ‎The first anchor of the ENFP to a sense of self comes from their judging function, Introverted Feeling (Fi). Through it, the ENFP finds more identification with their likes and desires, gains the ability to understand their own values and feelings, and also self-restricts their exploratory tendency so as not to exceed the limits of their own individuality. The personal aspect here is so significant that everything that is not important to the individual becomes secondary.

‎ ‎‎ ‎Extraverted Thinking is the primary axis of contact for the ENFP with pragmatism, bringing the ability for objective decision-making to the type. However, its childish character often results in a mere partial and non-committal adoption of thought structures that extend beyond the individual, or conversely, in an attempt at simplistic imposition/adoption of them. On the other hand, if better developed, the auxiliary Te gains possible capacity and dimension. Accepting structures once rejected for seeming "oppressive" or overly homogenizing allows the ENFP an interesting space for pragmatic and creative maneuvering.

‎ ‎‎ ‎Of course, directing one's own life towards increasing new tangents requires sacrificing what, for other people, would be considered "what truly matters." Due to the definitive prevalence of Extraverted Intuition in the psyche, the ENFP subsumes and constantly underestimates the idea of the eternity of things. Seeing that other people attribute great intrinsic value to objects, facts, and sensations (Si) that ideally would be kept forever brings personal discomfort to the ENFP, who sees these things as limiting, inert, or meaningless. They do not see, of course, that at the same time, they cling to another handful of things, even more senseless and unnecessary, usually without any concrete value, under the pretext of transgressing the order of the world.
