I’ve gotten into EPIC: The Musical lately and an idea came to me that really wanted to draw. Problem is I haven’t drawn anything in years so I decided to do a sketch dump to gauge my skills/do character studies. Anyways I liked this so much I decided to post it in case the actual idea never gets drawn. Stay tuned for more (or not).

Summary: your iPad kid sibling broke his iPad making these weird creatures pop out and they seem to love your company.

“AGGHHH!”

CRASH!

Your little shit of a sibling Noah had thrown his iPad at you after you killed in this game called “among us”. You laughed at his red face as he hits you but it doesn’t do much affect until he hits you in your gut.

“YOU LITTLE SHIT!” You said yelling as Noah runs to his room sticking his tongue at you. As a door slammed again the wall you groaned against the floor holding your stomach with clenched teeth. You hoped you recovered, cause when you do. That little fucker is dead meat.

What you didn’t notice was the cracked iPad as you got up and shoulder rushed your sibling’s door.

It’s the next day as you lay in your bed watching tiktoks while eating some chips. You heard a small skitter which made you pause the edit audio coming from your phone to turn to see nothing. You narrowed your eyes thinking it’s your sibling.

“Noah, if you don’t want me to smack you. Come out now.”

You waited for a response but nothing happened. You scoffed playing the edit again until you heard a choking sound. Okay now you were kinda weirded out. You got off your bed to only step on something that made a “squeak” sound.

“WHAT THE F-”

A small among us character in yellow is squashed but pops back up brand and new. Yellow squeak at you and starts to hug your leg which made your eyes widen even more.

“GET OFF ME YOU WEIRD THING!” You start to shake your leg only for the damn thing to squeak louder and louder as other colors came out and start to squeak at you. You stopped shaking your leg watching these small things surround you as you pick yellow up who squeaks holding your hand.

“Where the bloody hell have you guys come from.” You heard a manly ass squeak looking at black who drags a iPad, the broken iPad your brother broke from yesterday. You raised a brow and pointed at it as yellow nuzzles against your face. “That’s where you guys came from?” You asked as black nods moving towards you with a waddle. He? They? She? Whatever fucking gender they are, it seemed to bow at you like if you were their god. But now you weren’t.

“Hey hey, dont bow at me dude.”

After you said that the rest of the little critters started to bow at you with small squeaks. Now you just stand there awkwardly as you scratched your neck not knowing what this is even about…..

“Listen lil guys…how about you just go back in and maybe we can call this a day” you say pointing to the iPad and picking it up.

It seems they knew what you were saying as yellow starts to cry with a squeak as he hides in your shirt making you jolt trying to get them out. “H-hey! Get out of there man!” Black and another color which is green jumps on you making you fall back in your bed.

Then everyone came in and squeaked at you! You were basically getting swarmed by these chibi shits!

“Please get off! I demand you guys get off!” As you yell this, they got off sitting in a formal line in front of you as you crossed your legs in bed

You sigh looking at them as yellow pops out of your shirt holding onto your shoulder with soft squeak as they nuzzle against you.

Guess they don’t want to go back into the iPad…

So…

I may have just found a new anime to obsess over.

Yep. The Case Study of Vanitas is easily one of my new favorites.

My goodness, I don’t ever think I’ve fallen in love with a piece of media this fast. From the first episode, I adored every second, every minute of it. I fell in love with the animation/visuals, the music, the character dynamics, the worldbuilding and lore, the story…I’m just so invested in it and love it absolutely. Noé and Vanitas have an absolutely amazing dynamic and their relationship is one of my favorites that I’ve ever seen. They have easily earned their spot in my Top 5 fictional faves.

Parts of it actually kinda surprised me? For one thing, it's a lot more comedic than I expected. Like I mean. A lot of times it gets dark and fucked up bc all the characters are traumatized and have their own tragic backstories that are made of their trauma and suffering. But it's also not all serious and grim all the time like I initially thought it would be based on my initial assumption. There's a lot of cute, comedic chibi moments (iconic tbh), which I didn't expect from this anime. Also the OP, which I expected to be chock-full of darkness and blood and symbolism and motifs and action and angsty visuals, is essentially VaniNoe going on a date.

In that aspect it's completely different from what I expected but also not too far off from what I've expected, a guy and his soulma-er, partner going on dark fantasy adventures around 19th-century-steampunk France. I really like the concept of Vanitas being a doctor curing the curses that corrupt vampires' true names into malnomens, turning them into forms like monsters - when he pulls out The Book of Vanitas and activates the magic grimoire, it sends a flurry of beautiful, sparkling magical constellations to purify the afflicted like he's a magical girl in a mahou shoujo anime using her special attack to save the day from the monster of the week.

ALSO also... holy shit never before have I shipped ANY fictional pairing as hard as I’ve shipped Vanitas and Noe. I don’t even ship hard 99% of the time AT ALL, the closest was two of my OCs, who are my own original characters so they don't count.

BUT THESE TWO?

THEY’RE JUST SO PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING AND AWESOME TOGETHER AND WHY THE HELL AREN’T THE TWO OF THEM KISSING YET?!

I mean I get that Vanitas x Jeanne is canon (don’t care for the ship that much, but I can accept it I guess though I’ll never be super into it) and Noé could have a thing with Domi, but honestly? They’ll never hit the way Vanoé does for me. Even if they never become canon in the end, their relationship, while not necessarily romantic, is nonetheless a dynamic I treasure and the way their personalities play off of each other is my favorite part of the series.

(And even if you disagree with me and don’t see the romance you can’t argue that their relationship certainly did come off that way to a good deal of the fandom, judging by all the Vanoe content I’ve seen. Honestly with the dancing scene, the way they look at each other and are super pretty in each other’s POV, the fact Noé wants a taste of Vanitas’ blood so much when blood-drinking is usually framed as a sexual thing in this series, the first ending song being them reaching out to each other while lyrics like “you made me whole” play in the background….yeah I think someone has to definitely know what they’re doing at this point, right?)

This anime was a blast from start to finish. I was instantly entranced, enthralled, enchanted by it, and I simply can’t get enough, so I ended up binge-reading the entire manga in one day. And I loved and adored it as well! The cover art with all the watercolors is so *chefs kiss* stunning, lovely and beautiful and the mangaka did amazing with it. So talented, wtf?

I do have some criticisms such as I feel the story (mostly in season 1, I feel like it got better around season 2) is kind of…jumping around between plots a bit? I was expecting the main conflict to just be. The problem of cursebearers that Vanitas and Noé mostly go around curing, with a few extra shenanigans here and there. Like the whole thing with Roland and the Chasseurs and the whole encounter at Dr. Moreau’s lab felt like it was a bit rushed or resolved kinda quickly for my tastes? and the ending of S1 with the encounter between Lord Ruthven and Noe right about as we’re about to begin the Gévaudan arc, and just an episode after Jeanne and Vanitas’ little date…And like I mentioned before, I don’t really care for this pairing - though I like both of them as individual characters, and I can accept that this is canon, but I don’t particularly have too much investment in the ship. No hate to anyone who likes it though. And well it’s important enough to the story to not be really ignored, it’s also kinda just. Okay. They like each other. At least it’s a subplot and there’s other things going on, so for me I don’t have to be too into VaniJeanne as a pairing to enjoy the story. Also I’m personally really not fond of the fact both of the times they kiss were forced on each other. But that’s just my two cents. (Toss in Noé and Dominique into the equation and the shipping/romance love square does get more messy/complex, though like I said, I’m glad it’s not a constant will-they-won’t-they love drama thing all the time (no hate to ppl who like it, but not personally fond of those). Relationships are definitely a very important part of this series, and that includes the romance stuff but at least to me it doesn't feel like constant dragged out melodrama all the time.) Also I lowkey do wish Jeanne and Domi got more chance to shine in the first season outside of their connection with the guys. They do get good character development in season 2, and though a good amount of said development does seem to be pretty linked with their relationships with Vanitas and Noé respectively, I can forgive it as after all, the relationships and dynamics are an important part of this series and at least they have entertaining, fun, and likable personalities and their own backstories and lore outside of just being "the girls who are there to be the guys' love interests".

Honestly the pacing to me feels much better in the manga than in the anime - idk if it’s the different format and the fact that I can read it at my own pace, but it just feels less fast and easier to understand. I know for the anime some people found it a bit confusing, and while I partially agree/can see it on some parts it’s not THAT confusing for me and I can still understand the plot okay. But that being said, I think the manga is a bit better at this and in some ways, easier to follow than the anime.

Also, while I love the chibi comedy moments, I feel like sometimes they can be a bit overused from time to time? Especially when it's shortly after a mostly serious moment, it kinda throws me off. The truly serious, dark moments, focusing more on the characters' backstories and trauma, at least don't get interrupted randomly by the chibis, but still it does feel a little jarring when the style randomly switches.

That being said, the problems or flaws this series has/my criticisms don't really take away my enjoyment at all, and I still loved and enjoyed the experience as a whole even when there were somethings I wasn't too keen on , so I can honestly still say that it was such a wonderful, magnificent experience for me. I do hope there'll be Season 3, but I think there's not enough manga chapters to adapt into the anime and the author is on hiatus I believe. Either was, this series has sunk its fangs into me and won't let go, and I look forward to seeing it the whole way through and being there for this journey, beginning to end, I am TOTALLY hooked.

I'm totally along for the ride, and until then, will be looking at all the fabulous Vanitas and Noé art by all the amazingly talented artists out there (keep up your good work, love you!)

(Also Noé might now be my #2 favorite character of all time, up there with Arlo from Number Days. Yes, he's simply that powerful.)

So, I just had a dream about Mr. Puzzles (SMG4). It's very weird, so brace yourself. - Mr. Puzzles/Reader Fanfiction I guess??? created by: HazelMist's Unconscious

Um, so…I just had a strange dream with Mr. Puzzles. Specifically, a dream where he announced the new PuzzleVision merch. It was a 1960s style commercial…kind of, I guess. I have barely watched any 1960s commercials, so I'll just say It was black and white, except for Mr. Puzzles smile. and the commercial was animated.

So In the start of the dream, I wake up. and see In my notifications, that SMG4 uploaded a video. titled "NEW PUZZLEVISION MERCH!" I was extremely excited and hoped they had made a plushie of Mr. Puzzles. so I clicked on it, and uh...this Is how the commercial was.

So, he Is first walking down a lonely street, and see's someone leaning on a pole. uh, that person was Y/N... And they were wearing a plain T shirt, with oversized baggy pants. Not very fitting for the 1960s, but 🤷‍♀️. Mr. Puzzles noticed them, and walk right up to them and said

"Well, hello there my dear~! I'm your friend Mr. Puzzles, and- Oh god, what the hell are you wearing. Your outfit Is so boring, It makes an Average Joe look special."

Uh…Couldn't tell If my unconscious was insulting me or not, because I enjoy wearing plain T shirts and baggy pants. Then Y/N looked down in embarrassment. Then Mr. Puzzles grabbed their hand, and kept walking. but Mr. Puzzles was so tall, that Y/N was almost tripping. but then he stopped, and looked right at Y/N, and suggested

"Hey, I've got the solution to your problem! Why don't you buy some of the latest PuzzleVision merchandise? Your fashion sense would be amazingly blinding! Why not try on our Mario's Mysteries T shirt? Blue's clues and Mario fans would be confused by your stunning (not bootleg…) shirt, and you would attract many PuzzleVision fans!"

The shirt was basically the Mario's Mysteries thumbnail, Then he handed Y/N the shirt, and they responded "W-Wha..? but I don't even watch-" Then Mr. Puzzles cut them off

"Oh, and If you didn't like Mario's Mysteries, we have T shirts of our other episodes too! It would normally be 300.000.00$, but since you are special to me~ I'll make a discount! It's now only 30.00$!"

The shirts were also the thumbnail of the episodes. Then he threw them In a dressing room, and Y/N came out with the Once upon an SMG4 T shirt on. Mr Puzzles clapped his hands excitedly and said "Oh my dear! You look absolutely gorgeous! And If you get cold with only a T shirt, Buy our Mr. Puzzles Hoodie! It's 50.00$!"

The hoodie was a picture of Mr. Puzzles sitting in a chair, with his legs crossed. with a smug face. then afterwards, he said to them

"And I will be going soon, but If you want to keep me with you forever, then you should get…"

Then he pulled out a Mr Puzzles plushie, except It looked kinda weird. He didn't have his bowler hat, and he didn't have his color bar smile, It was just a straight line for a mouth. Anyways, he continued

"This adorable version of me, In plush form! Take It with you everywhere you go! Or If you don't want to get it dirty, just keep It on your shelf! But If you aren't the plushie collector type, Here Is an awesome figurine!"

It was a figurine of Mr. Puzzles doing a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure esque pose, with his maniacal face. and then he showed another figurine.

"Oh, and here Is another action figure of….that one inkling guy!"

The figurine barely looked like Oneshot wren though, and It wasn't even an Inkling. It looked like someone tried to recreate Wren In Plotagon. and didn't Western Spaghetti already have It's own merch? I kind of forgot what else Mr. Puzzles said, but he showed some Mr Puzzles Pins and Keychains that were both In chibi style. they were really cute! not like that Oneshot Wren figure…And after showing all the merch, He said

"Now, Let's skip time to a few weeks, and see how much these items have affected you!"

And then there was the Spongebob time card that said "2000 years later" and we are back with Mr Puzzles and Y/N, Except he is holding a microphone now, and asks them

"So, how much have my great merch helped you In life?" and then Y/N says something like "Nothing much has changed-"

and then the commercial rewinds, and goes back to when Mr. Puzzles asked that question. and then Y/N says "Oh, I feel much more happier now! with my amazing T shirts, I have so many more friends, and everyone wants to hang out with me! and I am enjoying your company, In plush form! Thank you, Mr. Puzzles!"

Then Mr. Puzzles responded "You're welcome! Have a great day, my darling!

Then, the commercial cuts to a blank screen, showcasing all the merch. and some strange announcer voice, that was definitely not Mr. Puzzles, their voice was very deep. says something like… "Go buy the new PuzzleVision Merch In smg4.store today!"

And then the video finished, and I was very confused of what I just saw. but then I might have waken up.

and uhhh…I think thats all I remember. If you made It this far, thanks for reading me ramble about some nonsensical dream I had last night. I probably dreamt It because I am TERRIBLY DESPERATE to have a Mr. Puzzles plushie. If I feel like It, I might try to make an animatic based on this dream. I might post It on Youtube. But I dunno, would you actually want to see that?

Day 8: Hats of @/Black00Cat’s (twt) SKKtober

Chuuya gets it.

He really does.

He, too, would be willing to steal to get a hat as cool as his.

That does not include Dazai stealing his, though.

So, after the something-thousandth attempt to steal his hat, Chuuya’s had enough.

If Dazai truly wants a hat, then Chuuya will do the great favor of – ew – helping him out.

Chuuya, for one, is ready to leave by the agreed-upon-beforehand time. And as he should have expected, Dazai is not.

The Agency really did soften Dazai up. He knows time is not easy to get in the mafia and yet here he is wasting Chuuya’s.

That’s fine, Chuuya thinks as he grabs Dazai by the leg to haul him out of his futon. It’s all fine.

Twenty minutes and incessant whining later, they are out the door and revving down the street on Chuuya’s motorcycle.

Chuuya does Dazai, and himself, a favor by taking them to a cheaper store under the guise of figuring out what looks good on Dazai, but really because he knows Dazai’s gonna steal his card to pay.

There’s not the greatest selection to choose from but it’ll work.

First, there’s the classic baseball cap in blue. A good shade on Dazai but not something he could see the man wearing everyday.

Next, it’s a beanie with a little puffball on top. This one’s white and while Dazai looks, admittedly, kinda cute in it, it’s also still way too hot outside to be wearing that, so on to the next.

It comes in the form of a cowboy hat? Chuuya’s not really sure why it’s there in the middle of Yokohama but he’s guessing someone threw an American Western party.

Now, you didn’t hear it from him, but damn, Dazai can rock a cowboy hat. Maybe he should get him to dress up as that for Halloween…

Anyway, Dazai puts on a beret next and does his most horrible French impression of which Chuuya’s not going to give commentary for.

The next hat – a sailor hat – also looks a bit too good on Dazai and now Chuuya has to decide on whether to make Dazai be a cowboy or a sailor for Halloween. If only they had a tiara here, his choice would have been obvious.

While Chuuya brews on that, Dazai picks up a fedora, moving to imitate first Michael Jackson – for which he gets no reaction, how rude – and then copies Chuuya’s thoughtful stance until the redhead notices.

Chuuya did notice, mind you, and the fedora does not look as good as his porkpie, thank you very much.

There’s only two left now, though Chuuya doesn’t think they’ll fit Dazai all that well.

The second to last to be tried on is a newsboy cap. Dazai shows the most interest in this cap. Chuuya shows the least, making the most disgusted face possible as his thoughts turn to a certain other genius detective and receiving a smirk from Dazai as he pieces everything together.

Somewhere out there, Chuuya hopes Ranpo sneezes on his candy.

Moving on, the last hat, a black bucket hat, is gingerly placed on Dazai’s head, the man doing a few rotations in front of the mirror to get a good look.

And maybe Chuuya was wrong about being a hat expert because holy shit, Dazai looks /good/ in a bucket hat.

Dazai adjusts the hat a little before pouting. “I can’t see.”

“Yes, you can, idiot, just push the front up a little,” Chuuya says, already reaching a hand up to do so.

Dazai, the dramatic ass, cries out, “So Chibi doesn’t want to see my gorgeous face when we fu– mmph!”

Thank Arahabaki Chuuya had his hand up already from fixing the hat to slap it over Dazai’s mouth.

“Shut it!” he hisses at the brunet, but the sly grin on Dazai’s face tells him everything he needs to know.

He’s paying for the hat.

Yayyyy finished a drawing! Haha only took me...2 weeks. I kept going back and forth on whether I could finish it tonight, and I really wasn't going to. But then I looked at the unfinished version on a different screen and was like oh? Not too bad actually?? So I finished it :) First of all, ofc, here is the process. Kinda weird seeing it for smth like this, it makes me feel like I'm the painter in rennaisance au, not Mark dhjfkf

Ah I was gonna draw a silly renaissance au comic to accompany this(read: lighten the mood), but it's 5 am and I've still not really drafted it well, so! I'd like to finish it at some point bcs I wanna draw more chibi comics, but when I finish smth, I can't help but immediately want to post it, so part 2 will have to wait. I'll show you the outline though so you can at least imagine 😭

^ So many renaissance and beyond paintings of Saint Sebastian are always the most horny thing ever. Like pre/early rennaisance, yeah he was naked and all that, but they were pretty chaste, and uhhhhh suffering?? Well the newer paintings are suffering, but in a different way, if you know what I mean.

So I feel like Mark's the type to be overly pedantic about it, and refuses to make borderline porn of a saint, I mean, god forbid, Seb!!! But then he just. Does anyways. Because he can't control his lust for Seb even when drawing him half dead. I just imagine him holding the paintbrush in a death grip like "must not be horny. Must not draw him sexy. Must make him chaste." And then he ends up with the one seen above. Seb is all smug about it. "Wow you'd wanna fuck me even while I'm all bloody and dying? 🥺"

Mark: "oh I'll make you bloody, alright."

But god so funny to imagine Seb doing all these different slutty poses, like arching his back as much as possible, the cloth nearly falling off at all times, etc etc. And Mark finally lands on this pose bcs he hopes the suffering will outweigh the horny. It doesn't. Also Seb is genuinely serious once he actually gets into the pose, focus mode on. And honestly that's even worse for Mark, bcs it's so much more arousing to see Seb in his element, focused. Tbf I think Seb could be drinking water, and Mark would still find some way to sexualize it. Don't look at his sketches!! They're just filled with Seb doing all kinds of random activities.

A little late to drawing fanart of the 9th anniversary portraits, but here is my detailed chibi of Bedivere's outfit!

He just looks soooooo pretty. It kinda looks complicated, but if you take away all the small accessories it's a pretty modest outfit which I think suits his personality.

I did have to take some guesses at some of the details since I can't find a super high resolution image. I did have to leave out the fan and the hat he was holding though, and I did regret drawing a pose where most of the boots are hidden because his boots were so very pretty D':

It does make me giggle seeing Bedi wears red and orange accents on this outfit - and the fact that it's an orange rope tied up with a white ribbon resembling his armor's ribbon around his waist...my brainrot takes it as a BediGuda design choice haha.

Man, I'm torn... I was looking forward to this, but now I'm not sure if I want it at all. Same studio (Wasp) as the Pegasus J. Crawford I first posted about here, but dare I say, Pegasus came out better? Ugh, kinda regret not getting Pegasus if that's how it's gonna be...

Guess I'm mostly disappointed in that they didn't copy the Cospa design (below) more closely, with Yami's jacket draped over his knee (instead of strangely billowing behind him?) and a card loosely held before his lips (now he's just angrily holding the Puzzle). He just looked so sassy yet relaxed in the original, and it's a huge miss to not have more (non-chibi) merch using this artwork because I love it.

And look how goofy and shy Yugi came out, versus the almost intense look from the original design. We went from a guy confident and able to stand up on his own to, "Teehee, I'm on a sofa." Not. A. Fan.

Also gonna die on the hill of "stop giving Yami ultra glossy clothes" when he's in Yugi's school uniform, which definitely isn't made of vinyl or pleather.

And then BAMM whiplash, Vein's in the fucking photo studio, throwing Cheng Xiaoshi around as if he wasn't a full grown man of 1,80m 💀 I kinda expected to see CXS die soon, but wow. That was... uff, wow, thanks for the tears I guess

I will sound terrible, but... I kinda wish that scene had been longer? Dunno, feels like we barely saw LG grieving over this.

Watch this statement come back to bite my ass, when we get the full extended scene in the last episode lol

Because I feel like it has to come back? Like. What the fuck happened? Why is Vein here? Like. HERE here, in the photo studio. Why is Xiao Li dead? And Qiao Ling??

And oh god, that whole power-transfer scene. Not only was it a fucking beautiful metaphor with the basketball, it also looked so pretty how the gold faded from CXS's eyes 😭 And I guess he transferred it voluntarily? Gave it to Lu Guang so he could save everyone (no pressure, tho). God, I'm sobbing again as I type this...

I really wonder what happened in that almost hour long time period between CXS dying and LG diving. Since LG was hurt when he got the photo, and I don't assume that Vein just... you know, LEFT, I guess there was a fight? Do you think LG went feral again? Or did Vein think he'd die from his wound(s?) and just left him to bleed out?

(Also I guess an interesting thought, that all of that doesn't matter anymore once he's diving 🤔)

I love the Chibis every now and then. And the funny faces, kinda missed that after S1. CXS and QL are such siblings, they way they ganged up on Zhou Xun... or pleaded with LG... UGH I love them. Love them so fucking much!!

Also, CXS was WAY too relaxed about him having powers? "Wait, so you DO have powers?? Wow." Uh, not how I would've reacted lol xD but then again, he said, he felt that he had a secret and that he "knew 2 people with eyes like yours", so... uh... what does that mean, CXS? (Except that your parents probably had powers, too)

The way LG looks at him. UGH. UUUUUGH my heart can't take it.

That scene on the couch where he hugs himself... after that soft smile. yeah, why not, break my heart again, sure sure...

LU GUANG. CANONICALLY. WEARS CHENG XIAOSHI'S CLOTHES!! The fucking cat hat wasn't a present to LG, it is CXS's!! (well, maybe he gifted it him anyway, but whatever xD he originally bought it for himself! Now I wanna draw him in that outfit lol??)

There were several moments in this that gave me Live Action feels. I don't remember all of them right now, but CXS calling LG handsome/beautiful was one of them and the "we're not even together, and she's breaking up with me?? T__T" cries come to mind. idk xD Makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

UUUUGH so yeah.

I really wonder if this is the current timeline or not. Or if we will see the deathscene one more time in the last episode?? Though "I'll use my last chance and go back to the beginning" kinda feels like that was the current one?? Or we will find out another reason why it might be the last chance...

Uh. Final thoughts?

It was A LOT less bad than I feared it was?? The blow from Cheng Xiaoshi's death scene was softened with all the cute and funny stuff later, so right now I actually regret not watching it before work lol

Animation quality was nice, but it's very obvious that the most of that episode's budget went into the first 10 minutes xD Not a complaint, just stating the obvious.

I like the new style, though I still think I slightly prefer Studio Lan's style? Can't even put into words exactly what it is.

Also I miss thick eyebrow Lu Guang =T Thankfully, at least the ending delivers on that front.

Lastly, I'm really not sure why they made this into one hour-long episode? It was pretty clearly meant to be two, with a very clear cut pretty much exactly in the middle, and two stories that are completed in themselves. I feel like that would've made more sense for the finale, when everything's going down? Idk.

(who knows, maybe we will still get that, so we get the full 8 episodes after all?)

Back to the Swamp rundown!

So...

Disney Channel's YouTube account just released a new TOH chibi tiny tale.

And it's a crossover with Amphibia!

Here's my summarization of the events.

It begins with Luz meddling with the good 'ol portal door.

I'm not sure what she's expecting to accomplish, but Eda and King evidently found it interesting enough to watch. Eda even brought popcorn!

But whatever Luz did, it worked!

I have no idea when this is supposed to be occurring within the series timeline by the way. Luz is wearing season one outfit, has access to the portal door, which is also not destroyed.

So, season one, right?

But Eda has her post "Let the pain be shared" silver eye... And her season two dress for that matter!

Ah well, onwards to adventure! Eda is all for it!

King is a bit more... concerned, but comes along too.

Doesn't stop him from being mystified about the wildlife, though.

I guess Luz was trying to get back to The Human Realm?

Because she seems utterly shocked by the sudden realization that man-sized insects means that she can't possibly be on earth, lol.

But luckily for the denizens of the owl house, they've landed in Amphibia! By Wartwood! Right in front of the Plantar family home!

While Anne's friends Marcy and Sasha were visiting no less! What luck!

Anne and Luz formally reunite and introduce their respective families/friends to one another. It's very cute.

Sasha and Eda evidently decided that they just had to have an arm wrestling competition.

Sasha uses the powers gifted to her by the Calamity Box in order to win, lol.

But Eda gets the last laugh!

Then Marcy and King play a board game together.

Annnnnd she also uses her Calamity Box powers to win.

Girls, you do realize that's considered cheating, right?

Hooty also makes an appearance.

I guess he was wondering where everybody went?

Polly proceeds to use him as a jump-rope, lol.

I'm surprised that Hooty isn't more into this, but maybe he was genuinely worried about the people who live inside of him and didn't appreciate being used a kid's plaything after braving the unknown in his best effort to find them. Lol.

Meanwhile, Luz is showing off her sick glyph skills!

...Which I just realized, probably shouldn't work in Amphibia.

Ah well, we wouldn't have gotten this nice moment where she and Anne show off their magical powers to each other otherwise!

After all is said and done, our heroes settle down to have a meal.

I'm reasonably certain that they're eating bugs. Yum, protein.

Hop Pop and Eda are doubtlessly exchanging tips on parenting orphans and their other-dimensional friends, lol.

Throughout this whole adventure, the portal door has been... shrinking?

Because... the writers needed a reason for Luz and Co to have go back to The Demon Realm suddenly?

XD That's my best guess, as I don't recall there ever having been a time limit when it came to using the original portal door. It was kinda OP like that.

Anywho, Luz and Co need to leave immediately. Anne and Luz are quite sad to see one another go.

King really wants to make sure to say goodbye to everybody properly!

To the point he was a little too preoccupied to notice the portal door closing on him.

Also: Hop Pop faints because he thinks he just saw a little kid get decapitated, lol.

Meanwhile, back in the owl house, Luz is sad that she had to say goodbye to Anne. Eda comforts her, it's a sweet sight.

What isn't such a sweet sight is what King looks like minus his skull.

Although King himself is rather nonplussed about the whole thing.

Like mother, like son. Lol.

Luz is completely and totally horrified by the sight of King...

And that's the note that we end on!

Overall, cute little short.

Proper Rot3k OC introduction.

Hey! So if you’ve been scuttling around in my den for a while you’d know I love making characters and releasing them into the wilds to inevitably cause havoc. I was given a character creator in Wo Long and here I am making stories for my creations. So let me briefly introduce them with older doodles of their classic Dynasty Warriors designs. Their stories vary on the game so consider this a general summary that leaves me room to adapt their lore into the games for example. (There may be some retconning down the line)

Xiao Sheng (Faction: Wei)

Xiao Sheng is a young man whose origins and name have been lost. (His father’s surname was Sheng and he is the youngest among his siblings hence the nickname, kinda like Xiao Qiao) All that is known from his early life was that he was conscripted into the fight against the Yellow Turbans when he was barely a teenager. Impressed by his deadly prowess at such a young age, Cao Cao recruited Xiao Sheng as a personal bodyguard and assassin. He is the one to deal the killing blow on Sun Ce. Circumstances vary, sometimes he’s mind controlled and sometimes he’s simply ordered, sometimes he goes with arrows and sometimes he’s up close. Regardless, his guilt over the kill eventually lead to his death after the battle of Chibi. He surrenders to Sun Quan, confessed to the murder and is either executed, killed on the spot or he takes his own life.

Despite being an assassin, Xiao Sheng has a rather gentle nature. Always looking to only kill the strict minimum and doing so in the most quick manner available. He prefers to remain out of sight and doesn’t like to speak much, he’s shy, lacks confidence and is very obedient (mostly due to him having a hard time standing up for himself). He is hopeful, always looking to find the best in everyone. He has a particular attachment to small animals and always feels safe around them. He sees Cao Cao as a father figure and is always striving to make him proud. Even if he silently doubts him at times, his loyalty remained.

Lady Yan/Merah (Faction: Other-Lü Bu’s forces)

Merah is a woman hailing from a land far down South (Malaysia to be precise) and has always been fond of battle since childhood. Due to unknown reasons, she found herself in China as a child and was adopted by a rich family and became known as Lady Yan. She’s somewhat related to Guo Jia, being either his cousin or his half sister. She was sent to Cao Cao as a concubine so her family gets to be on his good side and she quickly started hating the man. At the battle of Hulao gate, she disobeyed Cao Cao’s orders to stay put and ran into the battlefield to fight. There she came across Lü Bu, circumstances vary, but essentially she gets captured after a swift defeat. She is then married to Lü Bu shortly after and participates in the plot against Dong Zhuo. She follows Lü Bu around in his campaigns as his terrifying wife and displays formidable prowess. She mets her end at Xiapi, refusing to bow down to Cao Cao and remaining loyal to Lü Bu until the bitter end.

Merah is self assured and confident, but often to the point of cockiness. She often charges in weapon at the ready, eager to fight. She’s known for having a bit of a short fuse and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Despite her intimidating exterior, she has a noticeable soft side around those she allows to see it. She highly values skill, honesty and style. She got along incredibly well with Lü Bu (matching his freak), submitted to him and ONLY to him and was either at odds with Diao Chan or also had a liking to her (aka they kiss, and Lü Bu is perfectly fine with that)

And that’s that I guess. Things may not exactly line up timeline wise but hey, it happens, timelines hard. There’s a lot I want to ramble about but I think it’s best I just gave the TLDR and hope I get the pictures across.
