Tw: talking about a School Shooter, and their glorification on TikTok

Yknow how TikTok has that format of reposting someone’s video with like cooking or visually appealing stuff on the side?

so I saw one of those with @/worstlyfe and his old video about that School Shooter who was popular on TikTok in 2023. There were multiple people in the comments just defending that man.

It’s so frustrating because TikTok truly is the app of no critical thought. In 2023 a school shooter came onto the app after being released from prison and among other things he “told his story”. Telling the “truth” about the school shooting and how he actually never wanted to hurt anyone he just wanted to commit suicide by cop. He shot his principal with a shotgun in the leg because it “misfired” when the principal tackled him to get the gun away it wasn’t intentional!!

he gained a following and people believed him no attempt to verify, taking his words at face value. Is that not insane? It is insane because his PR message isn’t real.

back in 2023 I saw a video talking about reading the news articles and court statements from 2004. To read what that POS said at the time he did it. The stories don’t match up bc of course they don’t. he didn’t discharge the gun twice just to do it, he aimed at a students head. And shot at another one. He talked about having fantasies about homicide for a year leading up to the event.

he claims to have been sorry but a sorry man wouldn’t lie to make himself look better and distort the truth to gain sympathy. Back in 2023 when everything came out he lost a lot of support, because even though he had shit aim that doesn’t mean that he didn’t intend to murder people and it doesn’t remove the fear and distress he caused his community.

idk I’m writing this because I’m upset that he still has his ardent supporters. His fans that don’t care for the truth and regurgitate the lies he tells to make himself feel better. People who hear a few sympathetic words and decide that maybe the man who brought a gun to his school to cause havoc and fear is actually the victim.

I find it deeply depressing that every adult in Spider's life had children, yet he was never anyone's priority. every adult he could and most likely attempted to match in to. the adults he remembered as the closest things he had to parents since birth (Jake and Norm, even if they weren't acting as his parents, because Spider, genuinely, would not know better). down to his actual foster family (the McCoskers). essentially went out of their way to de-prioritize him.

like I'm not faulting them for having kids, for having a family. but Spider was their first priority. he didn't need to be adopted by any of them, per say, but he was their responsibility. he was their orphan, Jake especially, considering he was the chief of his people, but Norm as well, seeing as he's a prominent figure head of the clan/Hellsgate.

the McCoskers took him in, but over the years, as they had their own children, he was more and more neglected. he was now no longer his actually appointed guardians priority. and that only gets worse and worse as he ages until they become outright abusive (Nash does anyway, cause thats what I'm gonna call violently kidnapping his, throwing him in a room and locking him there, and trying to kill all of them, him included, when they run away. as abuse. and I'll get back to the whole "you have to turn yourself in to the RDA" x2 speech from Jake in a second). they also didn't really accept his culture. with their resentment towards the Na'vi brewing, Spider most definitely faced some heat for being more of the forest than of humans, in terms of culture.

3 times over, Spider came first and was put last. put last by parents who know damn well how much love, time, care, and attention a child needs. who should be able to see when a kid is being neglected. who dialed to advocate and protect him from neglect (instead of calling him a stray).

he was a child and they were his advocates. all three parties failed in their duty as advocates, to protect Spider. to ensure he always had a loving home that made him their priority. that fulfilled all his needs, not just the physical ones. but all put their own families first, and abandoned Spider to the scraps of their love, time, and affection.

imagine being Spider, an orphan who can't even mention his birth parents and is always treated like he is the physical rebirth of his father's sins by half the people around him. every adult in your life has kids and seems like they're such a good parent. you watch their kids being loved and tended to and having a steady home. they receive love and affection constantly. but your fosters pay less and less attention to you as they have babies. and now your a stray to the man you look up to so much. and the man who probably taught you how to put an exopack on has less and less time for you. no one has time for you. you're no one's child. no one's priority. just a stray. a nuisance. and you don't truly belong anywhere.

no one was putting him first. children need to be someone's priority. psychology. they need it.

and then the RDA returns. the McCoskers leave, Spider is expected to leave everything he has ever known, to join the very people he hates and has been trying so hard since he could understand what it meant, to prove that he wasn't like them. Jake, the man he once looked up to, was telling him to leave. sending him away. stripping him of the little amount of family he could somewhatly claim, that being his siblings.

once again, Jake is his chief, should be looking out for him. not even as a father, per say, but as his duty to Spider as his chief. a chief should never be sending away his most vulnerable ward, a child he should consider his own (as all of his clans children should be one with his own children), to the opposing enemy force.

this happens again when they're running away, Jake tells him ever more directly to hide in the forest alone until the RDA stops shooting at everything that moves and then turn himself in so he can his own children could run. once again, putting him last, instead of protecting all of them.

then for a year, Spider has no family. no one. the McCoskers are gone and no one has stepped up to bat for him. he's 15/16 and alone. his the big sibling to the Sully's. those kids are all he has, but they aren't really looking out for him. he's looking out for them. cause he's the oldest. that's just how it is. he is one with the clan. lives with them. does chores. watches out for his siblings, the whole nine. but Jake isn't doing his duty of watching out for his ward. he is once again giving and giving and giving, and not receiving.

and then he is taken, he is taken, and while Jake may not have had the means to go back for Spider, or been able to take the risk of going back for him, he abandons him without a thought for his safety, and puts his children first. it's the language and attitude be poses towards the situation that is wild to me. he has every right to be worried about his children, but he could not spare Spider an ounce of concern, even knowing the danger he was in, and is more concerned about him spilling details then anything else. Spider is, once again, not his first, second, or even third priority. he is a means to an end. a necessary loss.

people only care about Spider when there's nothing else they can put before him.

I have many vices, however one of the dumbest is advice columns. Give me a Dear Prudence or Ask Amy or a Hola Papi or AITA and I am a happy camper; I love to rubberneck on other people's problems, and am a very attentive listener if you've got drama you want to explain in punishing detail. The best part is that I will never remember names, so I really can't go telling tales unless your coworkers are fascinated by: "And then she said that---John? I think? I think his name was John. Maybe James. Or Johnny? I don't know, let's just call him 'John'. Anyway, John---"

Slate in particular is very good about serving me multiple advice columns, and even better, they have active comment sections where people discuss or deride or give their own opinions. However, it's also become....unavoidably clear that the comment section hates being told that maybe they should do literally anything for anyone ever.

It's starting to bum me out.

I mean, maybe all these anonymous commenters do genuinely love sitting in their houses alone with unimpeachable boundaries they alone control! If that's what makes them happy, godspeed, and I mean that sincerely. But as someone who spends a lot of evenings sitting in her apartment alone, with complete control....I think there's a downside the comment section hasn't stopped and considered yet.

So a new variable was needed, and since the system tasks have been completed perfectly chances are the problem is in the system… so the solution is to shove the work to someone sentient who would be invested into changing the story!!

So yeah airplane gets a notification that the system is being upgraded and suddenly his terrible system has a personality

System Shen yuan would consume (?)all the information the original system had and before going online would have created an entire tasks tab that include daily/weekly/monthly/yearly/unlimites tasks plus main tasks and as soon as he was online he would great airplane with a passive aggressive message and send him to work

Shen yuan would be much more generous with points but he hates the shop system, the dumb things that can be bought there will them have descriptions like “this scenario pusher will make clothes tear like in a bad horny donghua” being 100% ready to turn it into sqh himself if he dared to be a scum and use it on some unsuspecting woman

The first time sqh failed a s!sy task he was full of dread, punishments are very trauma inducing after all, but them the worst punishment sy can bare to deal is making him 1st pov some of binghe’s more tame suffering, like hunger, bullying and the tea spill first meeting… which could have been bad if the senses and feelings where in sync but it was all toned down to zero… SQH them understands the new system as some kind of softie tsundere lmao

S!sy would feel bad about the harsh punishment and send some easy task with a high reward the next day….. “there needs to be a carrot, not only a stick!” (I do love me a dumbass shen yuan)

They of course would banter and end up caring about each other, everytime sqh says/does something sy thinks is stupid he’ll give tasks like “read 10 books about x and write a 10k words essay about x” or when he is tossed around in a mission or by mbj he’s send missions for Jim’s to get stronger…

By the second month there’ll be missions like “eat 3 times a day”, unfortunately for shen yuan sqh already trusts him and feels safe enough to bend the tasks, so not only he will half-ass boring tasks to get the hide of y magical beast and making a coat (sending liu qingge to do it, mostly) which sy approves for being smart BUT he would also eat like melon seeds instead of stopping to eat full meals

Shang Qinghua will end up having to scroll detailed 1k worded self-care tasks…

This au would be focused mostly in cumplane dynamics yes but I thinks it would be really hilarious if sy started to make sqh do tasks that would take him close to xxx because sy wants to see them (choose the SQH x SY x ??? of your preference)

I’m convinced that people who hate Mabel have a) never watched the show and/or b) don’t have siblings. Because until they encountered Bill Cipher for the first time, there was nothing to suggest Dipper’s obsession with the journals was more important or valid than Mabel just wanted to have a normal summer with a whirlwind romance. And even after incident with the portal Dipper and Ford actively keep everything secret from Mabel and Stan so she has no idea of the stakes or what Bill is capable of. Add to that that her dreams of the future were all suddenly crumbling around her all at once, and it is perfectly reasonable if not expected that she would fall for an immortal chaos demon’s tricks.

Also, most of the stuff involving the journal that goes wrong is Dipper’s fault but he still pretends like he and Mabel are in it together. And those of you who are siblings know that Mabel takes it extremely well. Like if I had accidentally sold my body as a puppet to a demon and the only way I could ask my sibling for help was through a sock puppet, I would expect them to help, but only after they spent a good half hour laughing and making fun of me with the additional consequence would be that any time I ask them for a small favor in the future, they would remind me that they were the one to save me from my stupid mistake, so no, they won’t pass me the salt.

(Also, can we just take a moment to see the giant double standards when it comes to the romances that Dipper and Mabel’s have. When Mabel pursues a romantic people treat it as irrelevant and getting in the way of the plot even when it doesn’t. But when Dipper tries to win Wendy’s affection, people expect Mabel to drop everything, sacrifice her pet, mess with time travel to help set up a scenario which Dipper can win a carnival game as a flex.)

He would be VERY tall, but he wouldn't have a growth spurt as drastic as a normal drainfolk, who will usually almost double in size from the 3 -4 foot range to 6 + feet tall. he would most likely be capped in the 8 foot range which is still INCREDIBLY LARGE.

Despite the supernatural influence from the drain, drainfolk bodies are like the normal human body in the sense if they get too large, their heart wouldn't be able to handle the workload to keep them alive. Grujaja is a major outlier on the Drainfolk height scale (most likely from Hyperthyroidism) That if he ended up going through Metamorphosis his body would have to stop growing at the same rate as a normal drain folk because it would begin to struggle keeping itself functioning. However no need to worry about that or other health complications because he's banned from ever getting taller ever by decree of the Ex- god of leadership, hope this helps /silly
