it's kinda amazing how no one is like damn checo would have been good. that seat was bathed in daniel's blood and life and only he could have at the very least made sure there were two RED BULL red bulls in the top ten???? like idk my issue with yuki is that he's good in quali but then during the race he's unable to hold tight to his position and it's like. they could have had daniel. they could have spent a year grooming isack/liam and then let daniel retire in PEACE. sorry to vomit rant in your inbox laila but god im so mad the hate watch is giving me more energy
I could almost feel sympathetic for Lawson that he is a young driver who’s been dropped unprepared in this very difficult car to drive and that this is ultimately going to end his career BUT Red bull literally had Netflix cameras at his Silverstone test and said point blank to the cameras that he was ‘impressive’, when all the chatter around his lap times from that test at the time had been inconclusive…
Surely he would have faced the same incompatibility that he currently does during those tests and Red bull wouldn’t be harsh enough to just drop him into that seat knowing he was going to struggle. Or maybe he did do reasonably well enough. Then, the only reason he’s struggling as much as he is doing now is truly Daniel’s curse
#I know we’re all mad that red bull deemed that Daniel hadn’t done enough to deserve the seat even when he dragged his car to p4#and somehow Liam was deemed to have done enough when he got out qualified by Yuki and finished in the bottom 5 more times than he finished#in the top 10#and it’s a valid reason to be angry#but no one and nothing can convince me that red bull truly saw how he performed and thought he deserved that seat#it’s just that the situation with checo became beyond untenable and they had pushed their only valid choice into retirement#and they were stuck with Lawson#maybe they thought he was going to take some time to acclimate#but they probably didn’t expect him to look so completely lost#and you know what that’s beautiful because red bull has fucked around and now they’re going to find out#adimouze
