Oh, boy, do I!

Author-wise, I really cannot recommend @the-last-kenobi enough. Definitely the best source for some good master/dad Qui-Gon- they were actually the first SW author I started following! You can find their works here.

The vast majority of the works in my bookmarks under the Qui-Gon Jinn & Obi-Wan Kenobi relationship tag have Qui-Gon being a good master/dad to Obi-Wan, so if you'd like, you can browse those here. Some of my absolute all-time favorites are listed below, but I love everything in my bookmarks!

The Melida/Daan Probation series by @trysomecats has some really good sweet interactions between Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon as they try to rebuild their relationship.

Memory's Betrayal by @maychorian gets me every time. A oneshot with amnesia and Qui-Gon realizing he has the opportunity to do better.

The Recovery series by @firondoiel, @happygiraffe, @luvvewan, and @sanerontheinside is a masterpiece of long-term recovery from a severe injury- both Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon survive Naboo, but Obi-Wan is left severely injured by Darth Maul. An achingly tender read.

I thought I fought this war alone by @stonefreeak, I just-- man, I have no words. It's a oneshot. Go read it. You won't regret it.

the massive machinery of hope by Kilbothtwins (I don't know if they have a Tumblr account) is an absolutely magnificent series- at the end of the war with the Empire, Obi-Wan wakes up in his twelve-year-old body and decides to be an utter BAMF about it. Qui-Gon is not 100% sure what's going on, but he trusts his Padawan and is enjoying himself immensely.

Invitation by @antheiasilva is one of my FAVORITES-- during an awkward Lineage dinner, Obi-Wan finds out that Qui-Gon had a shitty Padawanship and rallies magnificently in his defense. Sweet, well-written, and provides a wonderful glimpse of the budding Negotiator.

Patrilineal by @markwatnae is an absolute delight- with bonus Codywan! General Jinn is dispatched to join the 212th, and Cody can't quite figure out the relationship between him and his General.

I can't imagine that you haven't heard of the Mission Report series by @smilebackwards yet, but just in case, I'll add it here! A brilliantly done series that gets me every time-- Qui-Gon survives Naboo and finally manages to start repairing his Padawan's shredded self-esteem. No lie, this makes me so emotional every time- they care so much about each other and I would die for them both.

Oh, my gosh, and also everything by @deniigi. My favorites are:

Owl Dad Qui-Gon in pines and needles (the follow-up to take flight is equally good, but only mentions Qui-Gon in passing).

poisoned chalice is EXCELLENT for post-Melida/Daan Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon trying desperately to cope.

skipping stones has some fantastic lineage feelings-- Feemor is going absolutely feral over his new Padawan brother. There is a lot of bonding and I am having a lot of Feelings.

And to round it off- sunshine_lollipops_and (also do not know their tumblr) has been putting out some top-notch good dad!Qui-Gon content lately! Learning Curve is, quite frankly, an adorable mission fic, and Tales from Teatime is a series of oneshots that range from hilariously funny antics to heart-wrenching hurt/comfort- all of it equally well-written!

I (and my husband) am ex mormon. Its a weird thing. Look into it if you havent recently. Realllllyyyy look into. Takes time to figure it all out in this fuckin fucked up world.

I just moved a year ago. Didnt watch the US stock market as much as I normally do. Had my first snowstorm 10 weeks ago, that was.. fun to handle while ill prepared. About 6 weeks ago I was hopping back on the market and notice its a huge tech bubble about to pop and all the conditions Ive been warned about my whole career imply this is not good. Just took a little more thinking & digging and I'm a little too confident to stop talking about it now.

First of all-- the exact timeline of an "economic shock" is literal insanity. Dont worry about the exact timing of any of this-- just know its doomed to happen soon.

Here are some effects I predict of this upcoming economic downturn

This concise list is mainly for my own reference, but it would be great to add to it if any one has something to add!

0.5. US Stock market collapse-- I have no desire to try and predict this one exactly. Too many conspiracies are actually correct about this big guy. Lets just say 7 US Tech stocks are worth 25% of the entire worlds market, roughly. "Too big to fail"-- I believe is the phrase

1. Corporate (slightly later will be residential by extension) real estate crisis: currently way too overvalued. Most of the houses, land, & urban corporate property we see could stand to decrease by about 60-90% from its current price.

2. Bankruptcy crisis: similar to the after-effects of the 70s inflation-- we can expect to see a huge wave of bankruptcies affecting a variety of business: from the micro-self employed; to the small business with leased buildings; to the largest corporations who commit massive accounting fraud & hope to escape accountability in time

3. Bank runs-- there is an extremely high overreliance on the Federal Reserve, who does not have good control over this situation. Once it becomes clear that there is a crisis (we call this a catalyst event)-- bank runs for physical cash are a surety. Hard to say how long a crisis like this might last. I should ask my siblings who lived near the SVB bank crisis hotspot (but those were rich fucks they do their "bank runs" over the phone)

3.5. Global currency collapse, which takes effect in every single local, state, & national economy at slightly different times. This means prices lower. Much lower. But takes time

4. Whatever the fuck the geopolitics is gonna do???. Its weird. You got Russia wanting to invade Europe? (Look at global economic forum 2024) Trump wants to let them. Biden wants to be an establishment corporate ass. North Korea has changed its #1 public enemy to South Korea (dont remember my source but it was a couple months ago). USA is stationing more troops in Taiwan, but probably only because of semiconductor technology?

The scope of our global financial woes are larger than can be explained in any of our lifetimes. Its much, much closer to pre-revolution France or the late 1920s. Big change is coming. Itll be soon

CHAPTER 8

Your taxi pulls up outside a huge glass building that looks full of swanky apartments. Of course he lives somewhere like this. You walk in through the massive doors and there is a man at the front desk who looks up at you with a big smile on his face.

“You must be Miss Y/L/N. Mr Lothbrok has been expecting you.”

“Hi Sir. What’s your name?” You ask him.

“I am Preston, Miss Y/L/N,” he replies.

“Can I call you Preston? Nice to meet you,” you shake his hand and he nods at your question. “Please just call me Y/N, I feel like an old lady when I get called by my surname!” You laugh.

“Y/N it is then,” he smiles “Mr Lothbrok lives in the penthouse.” He gives you a card key “swipe that in the elevator and it will give you access,” he says.

“Penthouse? Of course he does,” you roll your eyes slightly and look at Preston, “without wanting you to be indiscreet, Preston, am I one in a long line of girls you have given these key cards out to, just between us of course,” you wink at him.

A smile creeps over his face as you ask the question. “You are the first,” he tells you.

Your eyes narrow at him, you don’t believe that. The look he has on his face is one of pure honesty “I don’t say anything I don’t mean, Ma’am. I mean, Y/N.”

He points towards the elevator. You smile at him and head over.

You swipe the card and start to ascend. When the elevator dings and the doors open Ivar is standing, an arm above his head leaning on the wall next to the doors, eyes at the floor, his eyes travel up your body. You can't help but laugh when you see him in the same position as in his office, he laughs as well.

“Y/N, I am so happy you are here, thanks so much for coming,” he pulls you into his arms for a big hug. He smells amazing. He grabs your hand and leads you through his penthouse.

It’s gigantic. The furniture is very minimal and there are black and white photos and colourful abstract paintings all over the walls. There is an amazing view of the city out of the massive windows.

He leads you to the kitchen which is open plan with massive ovens, a huge fridge, super modern and impressive.

The whole place is intimidating.

“I ordered us some sushi, shit, do you like sushi?” He turns to you with a panicked expression. You smile and nod at him. “Thank god, I thought I screwed up again! Sushi is my favourite food ever. Are you sure you like it? I will get you anything you want if you don’t,” you can feel the nervous energy emanating from him.

You watch him faffing around his kitchen getting plates, tiny bowls for soy and chopsticks ready. He reaches for some wine glasses, then stops.

“Do you want wine? Red or white? I’ve got beer, or anything really. Or do you want a soft drink? Coke? Lemonade? Orange juice? Water?” He is rambling anxiously.

“Ivar?” His head whips around to you.

“Calm down,” your voice is soothing.

He huffs out a laugh then looks at the floor.

“Sorry, I’m just really nervous,” he admits, barely catching your eye. “I’m petrified I’m going to fuck up again.”

He is adorable like this. A complete change to the cocky guy that turned up at your house joking about your dress being easy access. A change from the confident kisser. A change from the relaxed guy he was over dinner.

“I will have a glass of white wine, please.”

You are leaning against the fridge enjoying watching him. He reaches for the wine glasses and his shirt rides up, exposing his stomach slightly.

Your resolve has gone already.

You wanted to talk everything through with him, make sure he understands how he made you feel, but watching him bumble around his place, how nervous he is around you, how sexy he looks in his casual clothes and remembering the way he kisses you is making your mouth water and heat grow between your legs.

You want him, you want to feel him against you. He glances at you and does a double take, searching your face.

“What is it?” He asks you, his brow furrowing.

“Where is your bedroom?” Your voice is low.

“What?” He chokes out.

“Is it this way?” You ask as you push off the fridge and head away from the kitchen.

He watches you walk away from him. “Yeah.” He breathes out shakily and puts everything down hurriedly to follow you.

By the time he reaches the bedroom you are sitting on the edge of his bed taking your shoes off and then your jacket. He watches you from the doorway, a look of disbelief on his face.

“Are you coming over here? I haven’t stopped thinking about how good you said you are with your tongue,” you tell him, eyes full of lust.

You stand up, undo your buttons and let your trousers fall around your feet. You take off your top and you're standing in your lacy red underwear. Waiting for him to come over to you, you sit on the edge of his bed again.

He hasn’t moved an inch. He is just staring at you, mouth wide open, eyes travelling all over your body.

“Hello? Are you ok?” You ask him, with your eyebrows raised and you scoot back so you are propped up on his pillows.

“Is this a trick? Because it’s a very cruel one if it is.”

“No trick, now come over here and make that pretty mouth useful,” you purr at him.

He is on his way before you finish your sentence, he peels his top off before crawling up over you and starts kissing you frantically. You melt at the feel of him. God, what is it about this man's kisses?

“I did not see the night going like this, Y/N. I am not complaining though. Fuck you look smoking in this underwear.” He starts kissing your neck and quickly travels down your chest and stomach, trailing his tongue down you.

He settles between your legs, you can feel his hot breath fanning over the crotch of your panties. His eyes see the bows on the side of your underwear and slowly pull on the silk ties as he looks into your eyes. When the first side is open he runs his tongue over your hip and down into the crease of your thigh. He pulls the other side open and does the same with his tongue. You can’t take your eyes off him, he is so fucking sexy, and his slow pace is setting you on fire.

i love to draw! i mainly draw digitally using procreate, and my work is a mixture of fanart and oc art. i have a lot of ocs—i think my last count was somewhere around 120? they’re all my children and I love them very much, but not all of them have actual stories. i’ll do my best to introduce each of them the first time I post them! maybe i’ll make a tag specifically for introductions?

i have adhd and often struggle to discern tones/intentions over text, so please use tone indicators whenever possible! i love good-natured teasing and sarcasm—it’s just difficult for me to pick up on.

1. Is writing a hobby or way of life?

I wish it was a way of life. It probably could be if the muse wasn't such a pain in the ass. Unfortunately it's only an occasional hobby.

2. A journal full of writing notes or a clean, completed manuscript?

Clean and completed!

3. Who (or what) is your writing inspiration?

The various fictional loves/ships of my life. All inspiration comes from them.

4.Which is worse: someone you "idolize" reading your first draft or listening to you sing?

You don't want me to sing. I mean, I can carry a tune and my range is pretty good, but singing solo in front of anyone triggers my anxiety big time. And then they'd have to deal with the fallout.

5. Has writing from someone else's POV ever changed your own perspective?

Nope. Probably because my main blorbos are people I share similarities with. There's something in each of them that mirrors something in me.

6. Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, or FFN?

Tumblr, because it has all the comforts of home.

7. AO3 wordcount, and are you satisfied with it?

I'm too lazy to do the math that would involve since I've posted for posterity several fics written by BATB writers who are no longer with us. I think the last time I was tasked with figuring it out, the number hovered around 500,000. I'm more than satisfied, considering my chronic and extended bouts of writer's block.

8. What movie/book/fic gripped you irrevocably?

How much time do you have? It would be a lengthy list. Off the top of my head... Books: The Stand, The Passage trilogy, the as yet unfinished A Song of Fire and Ice series, Outlander, The Lion of Ireland. Movies: Fight the Future, Arrival, Primal Fear, the limited TV series Midnight Mass. Fics: Into the Wood, Kindred, All the Dead Mulders, Three Little Words, Night Giving Off Flames, Parabiosis, Iolokus, the Acquainted With the Night series, This Massive Darkness. I could go on, but I won't.

9. What's the highest compliment you could ever be given, and have you been given it?

That I'm a good person. And yes, I have. More times than I probably deserve.

I hate that things have gone from "be careful on the internet, don't give out any personal information, and there's gonna be some stuff you won't want to see so just do your best to avoid it" to "the internet is my playground, I can go where I want and do what I want and if I see anything I don't like it's YOUR fault, these content warnings can't stop me because I can't read, here's my carrd where i dox myself by listing more information about myself than anyone would ever need to know" and it's just…accepted as okay and normal? Keep your private information private, you don't owe strangers ANY information, but also just stay AWAY from places where you're not comfortable, especially if you're underage (DON'T go to 18+ websites and demand that they bend to your whims) though there are definitely also adults who need to hear it too. Strangers online aren't responsible for your comfort.

A lot of people don’t seem to realise that when we talk about fiction not effecting reality, we mean that it’s not a 1-to-1 type thing— an author killing off a character is different from them murdering an actual person, people can enjoy dark content in fiction & fantasy without thinking it’s good/wanting it to happen irl, and of course fiction can never truly make someone do something— if a murderer is inspired by a fictional murder, they still chose to kill someone and can’t blame the writer for that. The same with unhealthy relationships in fiction— so long as young people are taught about healthy relationships they’ll understand what they’re reading about isn’t one, and if not, that’s a failing on their guardians not the writer.

Neil Gaiman claims Aziraphale and Crowley are “a love story” but only shows them interacting platonically, and is adored for it. I’m sorry, but that is a double standard caused by the popularity of the author.

not submission. I really hate the "My OC, my rules" thing. Cause like, no? Just because they are your oc doesn't mean you can do whatever you want with them. If you want to make your oc suffer and not like them get help, you deserve to lose rights over them. Especially if you only do that stuff to purposely trigger people. Once you do that, your oc no longer belongs to you. they belong to the public who will take better care of them instead

I've been posting my writing for almost six months and still don’t have a carrd page, navigation post, etc. I fly by the seat of my pants adding posts and links all willy nilly as needed - my profile header is just links to posts or tags i’ve added gradually.  @dark-scape's still teaching me about tumblr sometimes lmao. i dove right in without any forethought. Twitter - ClassySassy143 Let's be real it's not long for the world and I've backed off from posting there, however there are some things only Twitter (I refuse to call it X) has, so I mostly use the account for Splatoon map rotation updates and Pokemon Go news. I still Tweet, just not often.

My Discord is for personal use, so I don't give it out unless it's to a friend or I need instant messaging for a collab. Believe me, it's for the best because despite how I may seem, I am not a talkative person and even though I'm only in a handful of servers, I only send like 8 messages a year in 'em.

I put in for a Bluesky code and am looking into cohost for future alternatives, but I haven't done anything yet. By the time I make up my mind someone will probably have claimed my user on there and I'll have to make up another name again lol

Why not just make the accounts now?

Because I don't want to have a bunch of social media to keep up with and suck my time. The few I have already do enough and are a primary reason I don't use them on my phone. Not to mention, these sites are "hot" right now because of the massive amount of people jumping ship off Twitter, who knows if they'll have any longevity. I've been around and seen enough "YouTube alternatives we should all move to" to know many sites just don't last past the initial hype.

Now I'm not leaving Tumblr. There's so much here and like DA, I love the archive system not to mention how tagging lets you organize and easily find posts later. I don't believe Tumblr is going anywhere anytime soon. Stagnation happens and sites like MySpace still exist. Heck, while I've basically abandoned it, Quotev still exists and has some active users.

But that's the kicker: active users. If Tumblr becomes such a ghost town that I'm basically the only person populating my dash, that'll probably be the time I officially move on. But until that happens...

Happy start of CSSNS 2022! I was lucky enough to have the first posting date so of course this piece is a monster. So excited to see all the other works being shared for @cssns this year!

SUMMARY: It figures that the gorgeous house Emma’s renting on Boston’s coast has something wrong with it. She would have preferred a leaky sink or creaking stairs — anything but the ghost of Captain Hook haunting her. Between his annoying habits and flirtatious advances, the two of them work together to unravel a murder mystery, discovering something deeper along the way.

Packing tape smells horrendous. That’s the only thought running through her head as she seals another cardboard box shut.

60 days left.

The apartment that’s been home to herself and Henry for the last four years would just be another on a long list of residences they’ve spent time in. But Emma would not be able to stomach the $400 rent increase. It’s something engrained in her from the foster system and the years following Henry’s birth, stretching her dollar as far as it would go and sometimes going without if it meant her kid could have the formula he needed. Even though she can afford the price hike now, her gut refuses to let her stay.

Plus, she doesn’t think she can handle another leasing year with Albert Spencer as her landlord. Spencer thrives on making others miserable, she swears it. He even campaigned with the local and state officials to get rid of the cap on rent hikes.

Asshole. 

Someone could tell her that his other company of vehicle rentals was a front for drug trafficking and murder and she’d believe it. He had a snide look on his face the moment she first signed her lease years ago, like he was about to swindle her out of all her money. Then came the disgust whenever he saw her paying her rent like he couldn’t believe he let the likes of her rent in his building.

A list of names, addresses, and photos are probably hidden somewhere in his own dwelling and he crosses off enemies as he goes, eliminating them by kicking them out, reporting them to authorities, and/or the possibility of killing them.

She’s only joking about that last part. Somewhat.

She’s kept them here for so long because it gave Henry’s life stability and the location was ideal. Who cares if she’s probably at the top of Spencer’s list because of the complaints from her neighbor Mrs. Norberry about Henry’s late night gaming - the price on top of everything else was too good to pass up.

In fact, maybe the increase wouldn’t be so bad?

“60 DAYS, RESIDENTS!” the man himself yells from the hallway, banging on doors as he passes them and repeats his message. 

Nope. Definitely need to move.

Henry hasn’t had an issue with the prospect of them moving. He goes to his part-time job at the docks after school, then comes home and finishes his homework before spending the rest of his evening on different listing sites.

“Do you even want to stay in Boston? I mean, we can go anywhere.” His excited voice echoes in her head as she takes in the half-packed apartment. Part of her wonders if she’s doing the right thing. 

Constantly moving, never setting down roots - that has been her whole life. Staying in one place for too long makes her itch but that’s the last thing she wants for her kid. 

Despite what her long list of driver’s license address changes might say, she wants the house with the white picket fence and the dog and everything that screamed a normal happy life in every sitcom she watched growing up. The only problem lies in the fact nowhere has ever felt like home. The closest she ever came was a small cottage town further up the coast. They got plenty of snow in the winter and the summer never got unbearably hot like it did in Tallahassee. But she was young when she was there and the locals were getting suspicious of the nights she spent in her car with Henry in his carseat so she drove right out of Florida.

Hard to believe it’s been nearly 16 years since then.

Ding!

The chime from her laptop pulls Emma from her musings and she hurries to her feet. The packing tape rolls away from her and the scissors clatter to the floor but she pays it no mind. With the rental market being as insane as the housing market right now, a minute delay in correspondence could mean she loses out on a potential apartment.

Disappointment fills her chest when she sees it’s just a reply from one of her contacts but it quickly disappears when she notices what it’s regarding.

What My Labels Mean to Me

Since it's that time of year, I've decided to make a post talking about exactly what my sexual and gender labels mean to me personally.

I'll be going in order of when I figured each out.

Bisexual: I'm attracted to people regardless of gender, but I don't consider myself pan since gender is still partially a factor for my attraction (if that makes sense). And I don't think omni fits since how I'm attracted to them isn't the same for all genders\sexes.

Demiromantic: This one I don't know how to explain well. I just know that I don't for romantic attractions\attachments unless I'm already close with someone. Maybe it's because I already know I get along with the person if we're already friends. I just know that platonic love has to be there first before romantic can even think to form.

Hell, this also kinda plays a part when I get crushes on fictional characters. They only form after I've been exposed to a lot of media of them (usually fan made) and I already liked them as a character to begin with.

Demigirl: Literally just figured out I'm this last year, though I'm still figuring it out as a whole.

I still align partially with my AGAB, just not completely. Best way I've thought of it is to imagine genders as flavors on a soda fountain, but girl\female was running low on syrup when my cup was filled. The flavor is still there, just not as strong as "normal".

By now we should all know about this in game item. Kinda hard to miss it since it's in soda machines all around the pizzaplex, there are the 4 cans we can pick up to boost stamina, and drinking massive ammounts of it is part of Sun's list of things he suggested he and Gregory to do together.

My brain, being the way that it is, has formed questions and ideas around this fictional beverage. I know it isn't that big in the grand scheme of things in universe, but the writer in me wants an excuse to add on to the mess that is fanon world building. (idk if that's an actual term, but it is now.)

Flavors-

In the game we only see four flavors of fizzy faz mentioned\shown in any of the messages and soda machines. Except for in the daycare. The daycare seems to have, at least, one of those freestyle soda fountains that let's you add extra flavor to a base soda flavor (mostly seen at fast food places from my personal experience).

Why bring up the machine in the daycare? Well that leads into my next point.

I like to think that there are actually more than 4 flavors of fizzy faz. Specifically I think there are three other flavors, plus a sugar free\diet variation of all the flavors. The three other flavors will be expanded on in their own headcanon, since they are character specific. (I'm sure y'all can guess who.)

Distribution-

Considering how much of a big deal the fazbear brand seems to be in universe, I wouldn't put it past the company to sell the soda outside of the pizzaplex. It just makes sense to me. You can basically find it at almost any store that sells soda. You can't get it out of a fountain anywhere besides the plex, but you can sure as hell stock up on cans and bottles.

There isn't much of a difference between the can you got at the gas station and the ones at the pizzaplex, mainly that the ones sold at regular stores are a bit dulled down in flavor. It's not even that noticable, but subconciously you can tell.

Marketing-

Besides the obvious of the characters doing ads for their flavors, there is one main marketing thing they do with fizzy faz sold outside of the pizzaplex. Some of the bottles have a "lucky cap" which will have a code that could mean free or discounted admission to the plex. Cans of it have a similar things, sometimes the boxes of 12 packs will have a code like the lucky caps printed on the inside.

These are the three other fizzy faz flavors I mentioned in the previous headcanon. If you hadn't guessed before, these will be flavors themed for Sun, Moon, and DJ Music Man. I came up with these because I wanted them for my AU, though anyone can use them for their AUs if they want to.

Flavors:

Sun- Strawberry Pineapple

Moon- Blue Raspberry

DJMM- Cotton Candy

Bonus Flavors (mostly because I know several AUs have at least one of these two as part of them):

Foxy- Rootbeer

Bonnie- Cherry Cola

Triva:

-I had several ideas for Sun's, and it was hard to settle on what flavor to make his.

-Moon's was originally gonna be called Blue Moon Raspberry, but then I remembered none of the others have special flavor names like that.

-Sun's was also gonna have a special name, when I wanted to make it a citrus punch type of flavor (Sunny Citrus).

-Bonnie's is cherry cola because the diner in Bonnie Bowl gives me 50s diner vibes, and 50s diners make me think of cherry cola for some reason.

-Yes, DJMM's is cotton candy because of his color scheme.

-Foxy got rootbeer because I figured it'd be a kinda funny joke with him being a pirate and all (plus it's nearly 1:30 AM at the time of writing this, and I can't be bothered to come up with something better).

I also have a fizzy faz flavor in mind for my animatronic fan oc, but I'm saving that for her bio. Though that does give me an idea. If any of you have an animatronic fan oc, what would their fizzy faz flavor be?

My #1 post of 2022

You know the posters in the game that advertise the sun drop and moon drop candies? Well I've seen multiple people talking about Sun and Moon being able to dispense them. Though I haven't seen people talking about how they dispense the candies. Naturally that got me thinking, which lead me to think about other things that could be related to this.

Basically, the candies come out of a hatch in the palms of their hands. Specifically sun drops come out of the left hand and moon drops come out of the right hand.

Now, factoring in the idea that they can only give out the candy that corresponds with their theming (meaning Sun is only able to give out sun drops and Moon is only able to give out moon drops), we can talk about which hand is their dominant hand(s). I'd like to note that I think their body as a whole is ambidextrous, but as individuals they ended up favoring one hand over the other while going about their day to day lives. They just both ended up favoring the hand that their candy comes out of. So, Moon is right handed and Sun is left handed. It was kinda a subconscious thing for both of them, but it worked out for the best.

If they were to ever get their own separate bodies then they'd be able to dispense their candy from both hands, but would have the same dominant hand that they had when they were just one robot.

(Also, this is just something I thought was cute, but sun will sometimes dispense a candy while holding someone's hand. It's a nice little surprise he likes to do for people for many reasons.)

CHAPTER 12

The next few weeks can only be described as surreal. You go about your normal life but now some people recognise you, staring and pointing and taking pictures of you. It’s like being trapped in a weird nightmare.

Your shop is way busier than usual, you suppose you have to look on the bright side of this shit show.

There are countless articles written about you, Sadie tells you that most of them are complimentary, although some less so. She tells you the comment section and social media posts are really awful. You just steer clear of it all, the good and the bad.

Ivar is having a hard time at work because of it all. He tells you his mother isn’t pleased with him at all. He keeps most of the details to himself but he is definitely more stressed than usual.

You spend every spare seconds with each other, at your place. It doesn’t appear that your place is known to the media yet so it becomes your safe haven.

You find relief in each other. Every chance you get you are making each other come to try and release some of the tension. You try to avoid going out together in public, but having to hide away is not healthy for your new relationship. You aren’t doing the normal things new couples do, dating, getting to know each other outside the bedroom.

On a lazy Sunday afternoon you're both fed up with being cooped up inside.

“Let’s go out, Ivar. I can’t be in these four walls anymore. Let’s go out and get some lunch, go for a walk, let’s just go anywhere, I’m going crazy in here!” Your hands fly up in exasperation.

A massive smile cracks out on Ivar's face, “that’s my girl! Screw them baby, let’s just live our lives!”

You get ready and head out for a walk into town, you end up finding a street market and shop for things for dinner. It's so wonderfully cliched and normal; walking hand in hand, his arms around you, his face buried in your hair breathing you in. You barely notice if people are looking at you or not.

You head into your favourite pizza place for lunch and hear a massive roar of clapping and whooping when you walk in. You look over in the direction it’s coming from and it’s Iris, Sadie and a bunch of your other friends.

“Oh crap, that’s all my friends. I promise I didn’t know they were here!” You turn to Ivar and say, he just laughs at you.

“Shall we join them?” He asks. You smile and nod at him, he seems quite relaxed about it.

You head to the table and Iris stands up, walks straight past you and pulls Ivar in for a crushing hug.

“Don’t worry about me, Iris. Jesus!” You laugh. Sadie heads over and gives you a hug.

“So nice to see you, stranger! I had forgotten what you look like, it’s been weeks,” Sadie says to you, a slight scold in her tone.

“I know, I’m sorry, it’s been a very weird few weeks. All of the attention has been making me super uncomfortable,” you admit to her quietly. You look over to Iris who is still hugging Ivar.

“Iris, do you want to put him down?” you joke.

“Not really hun, he’s very huggable,” she pokes her tongue out at you and turns back to him. “You really are very good looking aren’t you?” He laughs, looking at you and a blush covers his cheeks.

“Come and sit down, we've been looking forward to meeting you!” Sadie tells him.

You spend the rest of the afternoon sitting in the restaurant with your friends, eating and drinking. You can tell by the way they react to Ivar that he has won them over, he is relaxed in their presence and hilariously funny. A massive feeling of pride swells in your chest as you watch him charm everyone.

“I must say, Ivar. You don’t seem anything like your reputation.” Sadie giggles at him. He turns towards her with the deepest scowl on his face you have ever seen, his face is tipped down and he is staring at her menacingly through his eyebrows. She lets out a terrified squeal and Ivars face breaks into laughter.

“Jesus, there he is,” Sadie exclaims.

“I’ve been a lot happier recently so the asshole side of me hasn’t come out for a while,” he tells Sadie then looks at you and smiles. You can almost hear Sadie swoon. You actually hear Iris pretend to puke then laugh. You smile back at him, blushing.

When it’s time to leave, Ivar warmly hugs everyone. “Iris, I will pass on your number to Hvitserk” and winks at her. You look at her quizzically.

“Oh, you think you're the only one that can pull a Lothbrok?” she retorts, leaving the table in fits of laughter.

It’s dark when you leave, not a photographer in sight.

“We needed that, didn’t we, Y/N?” He asks you.

“We did,” you give him a big kiss, “I’m missing your dick though, this is the longest we’ve been together without you being inside me. Let’s go home.”

“So, this annual ball thingy at his company is coming up and he’s been practically on his knees begging me to go for the last two weeks,” Sadie and Iris look at you curiously.

“Yeah, so what’s the issue?” Iris asks.

“There’s a red fucking carpet, that’s the issue. Apparently loads of famous people go every year,” you say with a worried look on your face. Iris squeals in excitement.

“No Iris, it’s not a good thing. It’s terrifying. What if I trip over, what if I have a nip slip, what if I fuck up in some way and embarrass him, and myself?!” You wave your hands around trying to get your point across.

“Yeah that would be bad,” Iris says seriously, catches the look of shock on your face and bursts out laughing. “Of course you won’t do any of those things! Have you told him you will go? You have to go with him. I will if you won’t,” she winks at you.

“Just do it, Y/N you will be fine,” Sadie says in a soft, encouraging voice.

“I haven’t said yes or no yet, but I have been on the lookout for a dress and I’ve found this..” You take out your phone and show them a picture of a long gown, clinging to the curves of the model beautifully.

“It’s nice, but it’s quite simple,” says Iris with a wrinkle in her nose, you give her a smirk and narrow your eyes the swipe to the next picture.

“YES!!!” they both shout at once! You are showing them the back of the dress, or lack thereof. It’s almost backless, the fabric starting again dangerously close to the model's ass. You nod and smirk at their reaction.

“It's amazing, right?!” You ask them.

“Oh. Oh!! Do you know what would make it more amazing?! I’m going to make you a necklace, a long string of zirconias that you can wear running down your back. Let me, let me!” Sadie pleads.

“Go on, let her, Ivar can use it like a lead in the bedroom after,” Iris says playfully, winking at Sadie. You burst out laughing.

“Not really the intended use for one of my creations but do with it what you will,” Sadie says, trying to be prim and proper but with a devilish glint in her eye.

“Sadie, thanks so much, I would really love that, you know I love all your jewellery.” You blow a kiss at her.

“I’ll get the dress then, I will let him know I am going to go,” you squeal in excitement.

You send him a quick message.

I will go with you to the ball ❤️

His reply is instant.

Good girl 😉

His response has you chuckling. “He’s happy,” you tell the girls.

Chapter 13

#fandom#this entirely depends on what is considered apologia#is writing a story about genocide in and of itself apologia?#because there are stories where people take glee in stomping out an entire species - stories about lotr and orcs for example. would that be#considered genocide apologia?#or is it only when irl people talk about genocide in a positive light - making their irl views awful?#or is it both?#im genuinely confused#but also in regards to the regulations - what kind?#banning? making them tag their works as such?#and as for racism - what country standards would you be judging by?#because for multicultural stuff like crazy rich Asians it is both good rep and racist depending on the country#from an Asian American standpoint it’s necessary good rep. from a Singaporean standpoint it’s racist and elitist bc it portrays only a very#small part of Singaporean society - Uber rich majority - as if that’s all there is to Singapore when it’s a multicultural country#with struggles related to the widening income gap between rich and poor#so from a Singaporean viewpoint the movie is like. inaccurate and kinda racist#but both are true. so how would this be handled?#in a way that acknowledges and doesn’t hurt both sides?#there’s also a lot of dissonance between Japanese works and American interpretation of it#but fandom is international - I’m not from America so my views differ - so which standards woukd be used?#I guess my big question is - what stories would be banned#and what judgement criteria would be used for that ban? if this is about banning people from fandom @allebooklover

I debated whether to respond to these tags at all, but I have two main thoughts here:

I'm not talking about banning people from anywhere, because the ability to ban people from anywhere is not something I or almost anyone else has. There are a lot of ways to do community standards even when you have no ability to ban people or stuff from anywhere. I can't get anyone's stuff kicked off of Tumblr or AO3. But I can still follow my own standards to block people on Tumblr who are being racist, to not rec racist stories, to defend fans of color against racists. I can personally speak out against that content that I see as unacceptable, without ever harassing the person who made it. I can work, purposefully and without hurting anyone, to make the space that I engage with and the things that I amplify unwelcome to people who write things like slavery apologia or pro-slavery stories. And if we work together to do so, we can make larger and larger swaths of fandom unwelcome to people like that. Content moderation would obviously have to be figured out by those with the ability to moderate content, which includes both AO3 and other controlled fan spaces (e.g., zines, fanfic collections). I don't have a clear list of exactly what standards they should set (though efforts like End OTW Racism have suggestions), in part because I'm not a content moderation expert, but the great thing is that we don't need to reinvent the wheel here. Companies and organizations have been talking about content moderation for as long as there has been content to moderate. There are a million frameworks you can look at if you are in the position to do content moderation.

You're absolutely right that racism is not homogenous across the world! Some of these topics are definitely nuanced (being a Nazi, less so), and so there would need to be nuance applied to how we talk or think about them. So let's have that conversation. Absolutely. Please work within whatever fandom spaces you exist in to build a personal and community understanding of where the issues key to your specific fandom are and what you can do to make people like Nazi apologists unwelcome while protecting Black fans and other fans of color.

The point of this post is not to say that I have the perfect solution to the massive and intractable racism and bigotry problem in fandom, because it is a problem that is just a microcosm of the racism and bigotry problem in the world as a whole. It's hard and messy and complicated and will require nuance and cultural comptency.

But it will also require actually standing up and trying to do something, and that something starts with having meaningful discussions about it instead of just conflating any effort with harassment or even with censorship and using that to dismiss it out of hand.

You seem like you have meaningful thoughts about this. That's a great place to start. You just have to keep going.

I think one ongoing challenge to establishing any sort of meaningful community standards in fandom as to acceptable behavior or content is that a lot of people are unable to separate out the idea of standards or moderation from harassment.

There's a refrain you see a lot that amounts to, everyone who thinks that there should be content moderation (or "censorship") either harasses anyone they think is posting unacceptable content or stands with harassers.

And even ignoring the fact that harassment is done by a vocal minority and not anything amounting to a majority (by virtue of the nature of harassment, a very small number of people can make a lot of awful noise), those simply are not the same thing.

Content moderation or community standards aren't harassment, and there are a million ways that they have been done, both on and off the internet, without harassing anyone.

And harassment is done by people at every ideological position. It is not uniquely an action taken by people arguing for content moderation in fandom, and it never has been in the history of the world. Every single ideological stance has some awful people in it, and whatever position you take on anything, the total set of people who agree with you also almost certainly has people who are harassers.

So people get very caught up in conflating the ideology (content moderation or standards in fandom) with an action they perceive as being associated with holding that ideology (harassment) and refuse to meaningfully engage with the ideology because they can just argue that it is an ideology inextricably tied with harassment.

I want there, genuinely, to not be any Nazis or Nazi apologists or slavery apologists or genocide apologists in fandom. And I think that there are ways to get a lot closer to being there that don't involve any harassment at all. But if you read the first sentence in this paragraph and thought "I'm not sure I'm really okay kicking someone out of fandom just because they're a genocide apologist," or "But what if this censorship catches people who aren't really slavery apologists but just people who are horny about the idea of antebellum Southern plantations?" please know that you are part of the problem.
