In the Telepathy Class Scene, Tiergan thinks that there's a chance having a cognate bond with Prentice would have made the whole mind break thing significantly easier to fix.

In Exile, when Alden's mind breaks, Sophie suggests they see if Quinlin can help and Tiergan rejects this idea.

Before Stellarlune, I figured this was just because Tiergan didn't feel like dealing with all the Qualden drama, which was fair.

However, given Stellarlune, we know Tiergan thought a cognate bond might be able to help a broken mind, and presumably he also knew that Quinlin and Alden were cognates.

So he suspected Quinlin might be able to help Alden but still rejected the idea of asking Quinlin for help. So he didn't actually want to help Alden all that much.

so i said this earlier i think but. foster parent keefe ?

he wants to foster someone, to give them a family, because lets face it, he never had much of one, but hes also absolutely terrified of messing up the kid, so he doesnt register, doesnt even look into it.

i dont relly know what the turning point would be, but i assume it would have something to do with one of his students being super scared evey time he has them last period, so much that he can feel it without touching them, so he finally asks, and the student tells him ab their terrible home life, and keefe offers them to stay over if they want.

im just thinking of keefe opening his house to any and all students that cant, or dont want to go home, and unnoficially fostering them anywyas (and being a better parent than theirs, tbh)

and wow i didnt wanna make it angsty, but one of the kids parents suing him for kidnapping or whatever, and the kid having to go back the time that the case is examined, and keefe being like “welp, this happened once and im not letting it happen to anyone else” 

sophie being tottally on board with the project, and pushing the council in his favor as much as she can

a lot of parents get put to court for child abuse

(now i am fully aware that having these many children around wouldnt be sustainable, so thats why in this headcanon, most kids are already teenagers, who can take care of themselves for the most part)

soon enough, a bunch of other people join him in fostering kids, including tam, linh, della tiergan and prentice but also people hes never met in his life.

ok so now that the how is established

keefe is like, super careful with whatever he says to his kids. hes suuuuuper hesitant to ever tell them something they did was wrong, all the time

at one point, he does say something to one of them, because their grades have been slipping a lot, yet keefe *knows* they almost always get it right on non graded homework

they end up telling him that the questions in the exams were phrsed in different ways from the homework, and so they often lost a lot of time figuring out what was asked

keefe talks about it to the teacher in question, and all is well that ends well

also at one point, one of them getting their report handed back to them and blanching because most of their grades are bs, and giving it to keefe in a shaky hand

keefe not even waiting to look at the report to tell them hes proud of them, and that theyre so so smart, and that grades arent important at all in the great scheme of things

keefe absolutely melting whenever one of them slips up and calls him keefe at school instead of lord sencen (hes tried getting rid of the name, but the coucil would let him beofre he found a suitable replacement) (elwin offered, bt keefe didnt want to impose so hes stuck with sencen)

elwin being the one to tell keefe that he *could* tell his kids when thy did something wrong, or he was worried ab their grades, that it was all ab the *way* he told them, that there was a very big difference between shaming them and offering help

Alright. I just finished reading the Pride fic. And while I'm tempted to stuff all my amaezement into the tags as usual, I'll do it in an ask because you need to know just how fantastic of a writer you are.

First off, trans Jolie gives me life, as does Dadwin wanting to adopt the parentless kids (that made me want to cry, honestly, how can you make my heart shatter like this with one line–) She/he/they Sophie supremacy. Also, the line with Fintan doing rainbow arson. And the Fitz scene– holy shit I loved the Fitz scene. "And now he has a word for what he feels for his best friend when they make eye contact a little too long. He has a word and he's not alone." AMAZING. And then, in the Biana scene – "Yeah. Yeah, this is home." – this evoked such a strong feeling in me, like it hurt but also nourished me, and holy shit how are you this talented. I also love how you weave the events of your Little Miss Perfect songfic into a lot of your writing (as you should. It's an amazing fic) and the Maruca part. Edaline Ruewen is such a good parent. MARELLA REDEK FI/FIRE SUPREMACY I AM SO HAPPY YOU PUT THAT IN HOLY SHIT. And guess what, I'm lucky enough for there to be more Dadwin, Dadwin fuels my soul and makes me so delighted. I felt the full range of happiness reading this fic – delight and warmth and amusement and the joy at being near tears. I was near tears. I am near tears, and they're about to spill out, because your writing is so amazing and profound and evocative and makes me feel like I'm home, like this little pocket of this fic is cushions and blankets and soft things and it's just where I want to be. I want to live in this pride fic, Saturn, I want to nestle in its nooks and crannies and read it again and again and again because it makes me feel unbelievably happy.
