#I feel like these emotions usually are way less big after the first meeting

I have been trying to unravel the threads of all the comp-allo feelings for four years now and I still don't know excactly what the fuck is going on. Like, I'm asexual. One hundred percent. It makes so much sense. I feel like I have sorted all the things I used to think was sexual attraction into their proper boxes.
Then there's the whole romantic deal... which, ouch. I feel like I may have made a breakthrough this weekend though. I've been at a folk-festival where a bunch of my friends were and I met this new guy. It was like quite quickly after beginning the conversation with him and a friend of mine, my brain just went "Heyo he looks good and seems really nice and cool how about if we dated him?" And then it just ran away like "now the most important thing is that he likes you and you get to know him" and this is what I used to identify as a crush. But then I tried examining those emotions, and I realised I don't particularly want to kiss his mouth or hold his hand and stuff. I honestly think it may just be the loneliness going "we need more people in our life" and knowing that people get together romantically way faster than with friends (which is frustrating but oh well).
The more time passes the more I think I'm aro. I love my girlfriend very much and I love our relationship, but it isn't important to me that it's a romantic relationship.
I honestly think it's quite important that I experienced this crush with the folk gang, because we are just all really cuddly together. Like when I'm standing with friends from there I am usually touching at least one person and often we are just in a pile and like stroking other people's hair and backs, and that made it really easy to seperate a feeling of wanting human contact from romantic shit. In my perfect world I think I have a bunch of close friends who are just really comfortable with touch. That would be nice.
Trying for so long to understand feelings through an allo lense is so fucked up.
#it's so frustrating to fight my brains obsession though#like I sometimes had to stop myself from going away from somewhere I enjoyed being to speak with him#the amount of times I've told myself to be normal is staggering#and like I think he could possibly end up being a good friend of mine#our interests align a lot#I feel like these emotions usually are way less big after the first meeting#so hopefully I can stop being hyperaware of him soon#I got way closer with one of my newer friends these days#and that's been really fun#I think I'm gonna invite her to go to a museum or something soon#neither of us have that much going on this next while#and I would like to get to know her even better#sorry this is a giant word vomit I just needed to sort out my feelings#kirokiro

subtle- s.r. x reader
For the last two weeks, you’d been noticing something strange about Spencer. He wasn’t acting like himself, and for the smartest guy in the FBI, he wasn’t exactly subtle about it either. It started with the little things—doors closing abruptly as you approached, drawers being slammed shut, and the unmistakable sound of hurried footsteps whenever you entered a room. It was almost like he was trying to hide something, but not doing a very good job of it. His usual effortless chatter—the rambling facts about anything and everything—had been replaced with awkward silences and quick, nervous smiles.
At first, you chalked it up to the fact that you had recently moved in full-time. It was a big adjustment, after all, and Spencer had been living alone for so long that it made sense he’d need time to get used to having you around all the time. But as the days passed, your initial reasoning started to feel less convincing. There was something more going on, something he wasn’t telling you.
Your mind, of course, spiraled. The idea of him cheating crept in for about two agonizing hours, making your heart race and your stomach churn. But then you remembered who you were dealing with—this was Spencer Reid, the man who once cried over a nightmare where you left him. The same man who wore his heart on his sleeve and wouldn’t lie if his life depended on it. Cheating was out of the question; it just wasn’t in his nature.
So, with that in mind, you found yourself walking into the kitchen one evening, determined to figure out what was going on. The moment you stepped into the room, Spencer practically jumped out of his skin, his eyes wide with something that looked suspiciously like panic. His hand reflexively shot behind his back, as if he were trying to hide something.
“What’s behind your back?” you asked, trying to keep your tone light and teasing, though curiosity gnawed at you.
His cheeks flushed a deep pink, and he stammered, “What do you mean? There’s nothing behind my back.” He shook his head a little too quickly, his eyes avoiding yours in a way that only made you more suspicious.
“Spencer,” you said, laughing softly, “I can literally see you hiding something. What is it?”
He panicked, taking a step backward as if to put more distance between you and whatever it was he was concealing. The clumsy retreat would have been almost comical if it weren’t for the growing tension in the air. You reached out, trying to see what he was hiding, but he jerked away, keeping his back to you like a shield.
You stepped back, amusement fading into genuine concern. “Oh my god, you’re serious. What is it?”
Spencer hesitated, his eyes darting around the room as if looking for an escape route. The longer he stayed silent, the more your anxiety grew, twisting into a knot in your chest.
“Spencer, you’re scaring me right now.”
Finally, with great reluctance, he slowly brought his hand out from behind his back, revealing a small velvet box. Time seemed to stop as your eyes fell on the box, understanding dawning on you in a rush of emotion. You clamped your hand over your eyes and, without thinking, screamed, “NO!”
His heart dropped, and he froze in place. “What do you mean no?”
You were practically hyperventilating, your words tumbling out in a breathless rush. “Do not show me because if you do, I’m going to cry, and then you’re not going to be happy with proposing in the kitchen, so this did not happen.”
Spencer’s face was a mix of confusion and fear, his mind racing to catch up with what you were saying. “But… it is a yes?”
You peeked through your fingers, meeting his nervous gaze. “Yes, Spencer, it’s a yes.”
He let out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding, relief washing over him as he took a tentative step closer. “Are you sure? Because I don’t want to ruin this moment—”
You cut him off with a kiss, your hands trembling as you cupped his face, the velvet box pressed between your bodies. “Yes, Spencer. It’s a yes. A thousand times yes.”
Spencer’s expression softened into a look of pure adoration, and he pulled you into a tight hug, his arms wrapping around you as if he were afraid to let go. “I’m sorry it wasn’t more romantic,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
You pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, tears already spilling down your cheeks. “This is perfect. You’re perfect. I just—can we pretend I didn’t freak out?”
He chuckled softly, pressing his forehead to yours. “Only if we can pretend I wasn’t hiding in the kitchen.”
“Deal,” you whispered, feeling the warmth of his breath on your lips as you smiled through your tears.
With a tender kiss, Spencer finally opened the velvet box, revealing a beautiful ring that caught the light just right, sparkling in a way that made your heart flutter. He took your trembling hand in his, slipping the ring onto your finger as both of you laughed and cried, the joy and relief of the moment overwhelming.
It wasn’t the grand, romantic proposal either of you had imagined, but in that small, cluttered kitchen, with the dishes still in the sink and the faint smell of dinner lingering in the air, it was perfect. It was real. And as Spencer pulled you into another embrace, his fingers brushing the ring on your hand as if to reassure himself that this was really happening.

can I just say how much I love! your!! writing!!! I wasn’t really a Starscream or Bluestreak fan before because I have a tunnel vision on Bumblebee but stumbling upon your account made me adore them so much!! I like how neat your writing style is even though you make it as bullet points because I’m usually not fond with bullet points style, however! Something about how you focus on the description and “show not tell” the most is sooo tasty idk how to describe it. Thank you for your wonderful writings 😔🙏💕
Thank you! The bullet points were mostly a way to clearly demarcate a view point shift since these are snippets rather than anything fully fleshed out. Normally, I’d only head hop every other chapter in a paranormal romance manuscript, but that wouldn’t work here.
Also: Pleasure to Meet You by Motion City Soundtrack is my theme for this fic
Everything is Alright pt 34
IDW Starscream x Reader
• Watching you walk over to your stash of human things on his desk, a little more tension eases. Everything right again, even though he’s fully aware of how fragile it is. That worry still there eating at him, a dark tide just waiting to crash down on him. But not at this moment. You offer him a little smile as you drape that old cleaning cloth he first gave you about your shoulders. Like a ghost, Soundwave’s disdainful ‘inadequate’ floats through his processor.
• Somehow going back with Starscream feels more like reality than going home to your actual life had. Like everything else was a dream, less real than this. Because this has become home. Well, not quite if you’re being honest. It’s not this place at all. It’s him and it’s a curious new feeling, fragile. Breathing in the scent of him from your blanket, something settles inside you and you look up as he runs a big hand over his helm, wings fidgeting. “After my rotation, we’ll refuel together,” he says, optics flicking to your dwindling supply of stolen junk food. It’s not a request to share a meal, but a certainty that you will do this. You smile anyway.
• “I’d like that.” You’re smiling at him, happy to be near him. Glad to see him and it almost hurts, a bittersweet ache that he’d almost given this away. Let you slip out of his hands. Reaching down, he runs the tip of a servo over your soft cheek, the touch lingering as you reach up to lay a hand on him. Such a small thing, but it means more than you can ever realize. It takes an effort of will to break that contact instead of curling his servos around you and bringing you to cradle against him.
• There’s an impulse to call out after him when he leaves, and your fingers fist in your blanket to keep yourself still. To not run to the edge of the desk and reach out. He’s not leaving you again. You know it, but that jangling uncertainty is still there. That he might leave and not return.
• You’re back. Soundwave hesitates, feeling that now familiar tangle of emotion at the back of his processor. When you’d just disappeared from his awareness, he’d assumed Starscream had accidentally killed you. It had always been a possibility with the Seeker’s temper. Thought that you were just gone and that loss has twisted about his spark, because as frustrating as the chaos of your mind is, he’s gotten to where it’s familiar. Always just there at the back of his processor, a warm presence he can’t shut out like music softly playing. He’s pushing up from his desk, aware of his cassettes looking up in surprise.
• When the door slides open, you stand up expecting Starscream, but it’s Soundwave. His helm turns, visor flaring slightly as he spots you and strides over. Head tipping back as he reaches a huge hand for you, almost not noticing the faint tremble as his servos curl around you and he lays his other palm on the desk, big frame bowing over you. Silent aside from the ragged sound of him venting. One of his servos slides against your neck over your pulse, but otherwise he’s still aside from that strange shivering. You lay your palms on his hand, staring at that unreadable, hidden face. Had he been worried about you? That fragile feeling you don’t dare examine too closely stirs as you wish you weren’t so very small so you could wrap your arms around him. Around them both, because they’re yours. And it’s worth fighting for.

* Fun n' Games *
ROTTMNT Boys x GN! Leo-esque reader who enjoys drama, making jokes, and being overall awesome
Summary: The Hamato brothers unexpectedly fall for the smug, but genuine, fun-loving reader despite their egocentric habits Headcanons for: Donnie
GN! Reader; Romantic; Fluff || Words: 1.6k
Raph | Leo | Mikey | Bonus!!
Donnie:
his first thoughts upon meeting y/n is that literally nothing could be worse. he could be boiling alive in one of meatsweat's fancy culinary stews and be less bothered by that than having to endure not one, but TWO LEOS
there goes the fleeting days of being able to complete his work in peace and quiet; o call back yesterday, bid time return
really tho, all his eye rolling and indifference is just an act that he refuses to let up on (he has a REPUTATION to uphold after all!!)
it doesn't take much time for donnie to warm up to y/n though; he's more or less used to his twin's antics and smug behavior and with y/n being almost exactly the same, it's like they've known each other their whole lives
he chalks it up to being comfortable with the familiar, but his brothers can definitely see it for what it is: a crush
he enjoys the competitive tension between y/n and him, it keeps him on his toes and gives him a boost when he feels out of it and needs the motivation
doesn't much care for the whole ego thing, but it doesn't bother him as bad as leo's does; at least y/n has good reason to be as cocky as they are. they're funny, they're charming, they're cool, they're incredibly perceptive
in fact, he's secretly made a list of all the good qualities y/n has and all the things he likes about them… it's like a whole 10 spreadsheets worth of data
to be fair, he does keep a similar list for his brothers and april, so it's not like he's stalking y/n or anything; it's just his way of "bonding" with his loved ones
but y/n's list is a lot longer than anyone else's; there's just so much to like about them. it only makes sense that their list of good traits happens to match up pretty well with his list of "things to look for in a potential mate" (a secret list that he will take to his grave)
whenever they go on missions, he makes sure to fit y/n in all his latest gear he's made them for their protection; they might talk big game, but donnie still has to take precautions!
he may or may not have taken y/n on a few purple dragon-related missions - AKA "let's go put whipped cream in all of their hard drives and cover their hideout in tinfoil wrapping just to fuck with them"; turns out that the police do not find it funny
"let me just say for the record that nothing's illegal unless it can be proven beyond reasonable doubt. and you can't prove that y/n and i were there so…"
y/n ain't no snitch, so don can trust them to keep their mouth shut if anyone ever gets suspicious of their misdeeds; this also makes them his go-to for some of the more emotionally heavier things that he can't talk to his brothers about
yeah, donnie's not great with emotions, but that doesn't mean he doesn't feel them - he genuinely finds y/n to be a comforting presence, especially considering their amazing emotional perception and how well they can read him
he finds it much easier to work when y/n's hanging around the lab with him; they don't have to interact much, all it takes is a visit from y/n and he's hit with a burst of motivation
gets more work done with y/n around than he usually does and takes advantage of this productivity by making y/n stay with him for literal hours even if they don't actively take part in his work
he's even made them a little corner with all of their favorite things in the lab so they can keep busy while he works; they might be good for motivation and all, but he knows better than to leave y/n alone with one of his inventions considering their… impulsive behavior (rip stun-bo feature, we hardly knew ya)
"w-what, leaving? you can't leave yet! i've only just started on this upgraded micro-transmitter for the tank and i need your help! what do you mean you just sit there for hours doing nothing? that's entirely false, you are helping me out immensely! now sit right there and don't touch anything until i tell you to-"
their easy-going nature really complements his more rigid and particular personality; together, they are an unstoppable and wildly chaotic duo
he might be the funniest turtle of the group, but y/n has him in tears with their lame little jokes and one-liners; he mostly only laughs at the roasts and teases directed at his brothers though
overall, his brothers have an ongoing bet over how long it'll be before donnie finally realizes he has a MAJOR crush on y/n; leo has his bets on "not in my lifetime", april predicts it'll be sometime after casey jr's time, mikey's a little more generous and says "maybe in the next decade or two", and raph is just fed up with it and wants it over with NOW
The buzzing and whirring of various tools occupied the otherwise silently uneventful lab as Donatello worked away on his latest project, completely absorbed in his work. Tucked away in the corner, sitting snug in the soft embrace of a plush beanbag, Y/N busied themselves with another round of Smash Bros on their purple (totally not Genius Built branded) Switch. Most days in the lab were spent in comfortable silence, as the purple coded brother did his best work when there were minimal distractions. But for Y/N, that meant keeping all audible cries of excitement or groans of defeat to a minimum while gaming. And sure, that was a reasonable request for a while, but had it really already been four hours?! As Y/N glanced down at their phone for the time, they let out a loud, heavy sigh as boredom overwhelmed their usually active mind.
"Don, how much longer do I gotta sit here? I'm practically dying of boredom. I'm terminal now. Terminal!" They slumped themselves back over the cushion, causing it to wheeze under the shifted weight.
"Just a few minor adjustments left and we'll be as good as gold." Donnie hadn't even looked up from the tester bot he was tinkering with, something which Y/N met with a frustrated scowl.
"And by a few, you mean…?"
"I still need to work on recalibrating the external displays to account for the large-"
"UUUGH, no, how long! I've been here so long that my leg's've atro- asta-… ASTROFIELD!"
Donnie could hardly contain the snort that sounded from under his welding mask.
"I think the term you're looking for is 'atrophied' and no, I seriously doubt that the mere act of sitting is enough to deteriorate muscle tissue."
"Whatever. I'm dying here and you wanna lecture me on-"
They were interrupted by the soft thudding of approaching footsteps, the unmistakable sound of Raph entering the lab.
"Heya, D. Y/N. Sorry to barge in on y'all, just wanted to check in and see if y'guys needed anything. It's been, uh… A while and it's gettin' dark so-"
"Raph, will you tell Dorkie here to quit holdin' me hostage and let me go? He's been keeping me prisoner here and I haven't even gotten my one phone call!" Y/N teased. Their moniker was successful in tearing Donnie's attention away from his desk across the room to shoot them a bitter glare.
"Heh, y'know Y/N, you could leave anytime you wanted, right? It's not like he's actually gonna trap you here. Er… Right?" Raphael's playful expression tinged itself with a hint of concern as he, for a moment, considered the possibility of a hostage negotiation with his little brother.
"Nah, I'm actually good here. I just want something more to DO when I'm here. I can't just be here for moral support, y'know." They stuck their tongue out at the softshell as they rolled themselves off the bag and plopped softly onto the tile floor.
The eldest mutant scratched at the back of his neck with a chuckle. Of course Donnie would tell them it's for 'moral support'.
"Uh, Y/N. You do know he only really keeps you in here because he's got a thing for you, right? That whole moral support thing's a load of crock."
It was at that moment that the ambient hum of tools stopped and tense silence flooded in its place. Y/N propped themselves up on elbows and craned their neck towards Donatello who sat faced away from them with tense shoulders bunched up.
Sensing the awkward situation he'd now put them in, Raph let out a small hiss of regret between his teeth and slowly shuffled his feet back towards the door.
"Riiight… So, you guys good? Yeah? Yeah. I'm gonna just-"
And with that, he practically bolted for the door, leaving Y/N and Donnie to stew in the thick air of their own embarrassment.
"D-Donnie…" Y/N could barely squeak, their eyes fixed to the empty doorway as if they were pleading for Raph to come back and take the awkward with him.
Donnie took in a sharp breath and in one swift motion, pushed his work chair back and spun to face his companion with only his iron-will keeping him from running out of the lab himself.
"I-" He started, his face dark red and his lip quivering with anxiety as his mind parsed through the many scenarios in which this sort of confession could've gone.
"I knew it couldn't have been just for my good looks." Y/N's smug grin and flirtatious wink did little to alleviate the mutant's humiliation.
"Huh?"
"For the record…" Scooting up to Donnie's hunched form, Y/N gently took his hands into theirs and kept their gaze locked to the floor as the faintest blush dusted their cheeks, "I have a thing for you too."
Out of every scenario he'd managed to file through, this one was one outcome he didn't anticipate. But one he would happily accept.

Levi on a first date with a cadet pls 🙏🏻
This is a soldier! Levi x cadet! reader story. I imagine it takes place around the time Levi joined the survey corps. He is in his mid 20s and reader is in her early 20s.
I apologise if you wanted captain! Levi x cadet! reader but every way I tried to picture it couldn't be legal or ethical 😭
It's a beautiful spring day. The sun is out, the wind is softly blowing, and it's a day off. It couldn't get any more perfect than this, right?
Somehow for y/n it did, because her crush, Levi Ackerman, asked her out on a date. The way he did it was a little odd, though. He sent Isabel who excitedly told her "big brother Levi wants to take you on a date!", it took y/n by surprise but nevertheless, she said yes.
She's excited for the date, obviously. She's been dreaming of this moment since she realised she has feelings for him, but she's also a little worried. Levi is a man of very few words, and 90% of those words were a little harsh, he also doesn't like to show a lot of emotions. How would a date with someone like him go? Would she regret saying yes? She hopes not, she really likes Levi and has always wanted to get to know him more.
She settled on wearing the pretty sundress her mother sewed her before she joined the cadet corps, she left it for a special occasion and going on a date with her crush seems like the best one. She styled her hair prettily unlike how she usually wears it and put a little bit of colour on her lips with the beetroot balm she got for her birthday. After triple checking her bag has everything she needs, she goes to meet Levi.
He told her (through Isabel, of course) to meet him by the river in the forest, and sure enough, as she approaches the area, she sees him leaning against a tree, a basket on his hand. She walks up to him shyly, a little smile on her lips when he finally sees her.
“oh, you're here. Good.”
Without saying another word, he puts down the basket and pulls out a sheet, he laid it on the ground and mentions with his head to a random spot, “sit.”
She does as told while he continues to pull out the remainder of things in the basket. She wasn't expecting a lot when Isabel told her that he's taking her on a picnic, but it seems like Levi tried to bring as many things as possible. Tea, pudding, sugar cookies, a better quality bread than the one they get for their meals, those are all things they consider luxury now. Y/n is touched by this sweet gesture.
“Levi... You didn't have to get all these, they're expensive!”
Levi glances at her and sees her shocked face. He shakes his head and looks back down at the tea he's about to pour.
“Tch, it's nothing. I asked you on this date, didn't I? I should provide what's needed for it.”
“Well technically you asked Isabel to ask me...” a small, teasing smile is on the lips as she takes the tea cup from his hands.
“Don't get smart with me, now.” he warns, his glare less menacing than usual. She giggles melodically as her hand comes up to cover her mouth, the simple action quickly makes him frown deeply.
“Don't do that.” his tone makes it seem like he's scolding her and she immediately stops, turning to look at him as she puts her hand down.
“Do what?” she asks, her head tilting in confusion. Did she do something wrong already? She starts feeling anxious thinking she already messed up the date.
“Hide your mouth when you laugh,” he says, his eyes avoiding hers and focusing on pouring himself a cup of tea, “I don't like it when you do that.”
She feels her cheeks getting hot and she looks down at her hands. What does he mean by that? Why would he dislike the simple action of putting her hand over her mouth when she laughs? It's something she was taught growing up, to not laugh loudly and at least try to muffle it as she is a young lady and needs to be presentable.
“I-I'm sorry, it's just one of the good manners I was taught growing up.” she explains, her eyes shyly looking up at him before looking back down at her hands.
Levi scoffs, “what kind of good manners teach you to hide your smile? Do they want you to become depressed so you'd do everything they say without asking questions?” he shakes his head, “ good manners... It's a load of bullshit, that's what it is.”
Y/n laughs lightly, “clearly most of the things they tried to teach me didn't work since I'm here. I think that was just a habit that stuck with me.”
He looks at her for a moment, like he's trying to read her mind or something like that. She takes the moment to look at him too and study his face. He looks a lot more relaxed than usual, still a little tense, but he's slowly loosening up. The way the sun is hitting his grey eyes makes them seem like they're a mute blue. He looks a lot healthier than he did when he first arrived, his cheeks are fuller and the colour is slowly coming back to his skin. His haircut is still the same, Isabel told her that he knows how to cut his own hair and even tried to teach her how to cut her own an-
Suddenly, his hand is in front of her face, and he's pushing a strand of hair away from her eyes, tucking it behind her ear gently.
“when you're with me I want you to forget about all those things they taught you, okay?” his voice is lower than usual making a million butterflies escape in her stomach. The heat on her cheeks increases as his fingers gently touch them while he's retreating his hand.
“okay.” she whispers, her eyes never disconnecting from his, like they were magnets pulling her to him. He nods in satisfaction, happy with her answer, “now tell me, does that little brat Isabel bother you or is she like that just with me?”
From that point on, conversation between them flew easily. She told him about her life growing up and how her family members wanted her to marry a nobleman so they'd all go live in wall Sina with her and how her aunts nearly got a heart attack when she told them she'll train to join the survey corps instead. Levi even told her a little bit about his life in the underground, he didn't get into details like her, but knowing how he is, what he told her was more than enough.
Time passed by quickly with Levi, almost too quickly. Being in his company made her forget about the things that were weighing down on her shoulder, she enjoyed talking to him a lot, especially after getting to know him and finding the things they have in common, but unfortunately she had to come back to reality and help him pack up as the sun sat behind them.
Levi was sweet enough to walk her to her dormitory building, he convinced himself that it was a simple gentleman gesture he had to do, but deep down he too didn't want to leave her side. He had fun with her, even if he didn't talk much, he liked listening to her tell him stories about herself.
“Well, this is it,” she smiles as they stand in front of the building, “thank you for today, Levi. I really had a good time with you.”
He nods, his hands tucked in his pockets. It's awkward for a few seconds, neither of them knowing how to part ways after a date. Y/n looks around, hoping something would inspire her to say something. Fortunately for her, he beat her to it.
“Next weekend, are you doing anything?”
She thinks for a moment before shaking her head, “I was planning on practicing with some of the other cadets, but I can reschedule.”
“Furlan and Isabel wanted to visit the market, but knowing them they'll probably wander off without me and I don't want to be stuck at a place like that alone. Is it possible you'll be able to come with us?”
Y/n tries to hold back a the big grin wanting to break through her face. She knows he's just making excuses to ask her out on a second date, but she'll play along just because she wants to see him again too.
“I'd love to come with you, Levi.”
He nods trying his best to act like he's cool about it but his heart was beating very fast, thank god she can't see it or else he'd be very embarrassed. This is his first time feeling something like this, he wouldn't call it love, but he does like her a lot and he thinks if she becomes a bigger part of his life, he'd be very happy.
Happiness? That's a feeling Levi never thought he'd ever get, but that's how he kind of feels around her, content too, like they're not in constant danger. She calms his brain down, especially when she talks about something and gets excited about it. She's a great listener and remembers the tiniest details people tell her about themselves. She's also very pretty, he likes her smile a lot, it makes him want to smile too. She has pretty eyes too, especially when the sun hits them. Her personality seems genuine, and Levi likes that, she's very sweet. She's kindhearted, always willing to help others no matter the situation.
Nevermind, it's definitely love.

ᵕ̈ ೫˚∗: arguments with zb1
a/n: omg i posted before midnight this is a big win
notes: yujin is not included due to his age!
wc | 1.9k
jiwoong
the best way i can describe an argument with jiwoong is “mature”
you guys don’t argue often at all so when you do there’s usually a good reason for you to be arguing
perhaps it has to do with your living situation, or you’re not taking an issue jiwoong talked to you about as seriously as he wants you to be, or you feel like he’s spending too much time away from you
whatever it is, your argument will last max 3 days
day one is reserved for sulking, and you might end up staying the night at a friend’s house while jiwoong sits with hao and hanbin and tries to work through what he’s feeling
day two is for thinking—both of you think through things rationally and take mental notes on what you did wrong and what you think was on the other person
then, day three is for talking it out. you’ll decide on a place to meet that isn’t home, and you’ll work through everything while not getting upset or saying something unwarranted.
then, afterward, you’ll go home together and do something light and fun to cheer the both of you up
things go back to normal within four days, and you don’t think about the issue ever again
zhang hao
fights with hao are not fun
hot take but i think he’s the type of person to ghost you when you make him too upset
so whatever you’re fighting over, be it the dishes or something he said, once he gets angry enough he will just walk out and not talk to you for a while
depending on how upset he is it can be anywhere from less than a day to three or four days with no contact between the two of you
so yeah this is kind of a red flag but you don’t fight literally ever so it doesn’t happen enough for it to be a big issue
and his reasoning for ghosting you is that he doesn’t want to say something he doesn’t mean and/or can’t come back from
hao knows he’s the type of person to just say something wildly untrue when he’s mad and his worst fear is doing that to you
he returns from his mental retreat so apologetically, even if you end up thinking you were more in the wrong
will bring you an apology gift (usually it’s flowers or some sort of sweet treat) and always has some big long speech prepared
you also apologize if you feel it’s warranted (which is almost every time)
things will go back to normal in max two weeks
hanbin
fights with hanbin are big and emotional
like super emotional
this man is so in love with you that you being the source of any negative emotions is really hard for him to stomach
and it’s likely that, for the course of your entire relationship, you’ll fight maybe once or twice at most
so the fight you have is big and possibly the result of a lot of pent-up emotions that built up over a long period of time
you’re the one to walk out, and he’s full-blown sobbing by the time that happens
he feels miserable for the next couple of days
you two don’t ghost each other but it’s minimal contact and you can barely look at one another without crying lol
hanbin will probably end up staying elsewhere and you’ll stay home, drowning your sorrows in ice cream while you cry on the phone with your friends
when you’re both sound enough to work it out, you two just kinda cry apologies at each other
when the time comes for you to actually talk it out, it’s pretty easy and you’re left wondering what exactly the fight was over in the first place
hanbin will kiss every single part of you after the wound is patched up
and then he’s attached to you for the next couple of days lol
things go back to normal in maybe three-ish weeks? like that’s when he stops being super clingy and you go back to regularly scheduled programming
matthew
fights with matthew are small
he seems like the type of guy to be able to talk out big issues without it blowing out of proportion
so any larger problems the two of you are like … worked out via controlled and calm conversation
then you will have a blowout argument over you losing one of the sweatshirts you took without asking (your mom took it to the dry cleaners and didn’t tell you)
your arguments are petty and it’s a lot of really fake words thrown back and forth
so it’s not like one of you is being unnecessarily mean to the other, it’s from both of you
you don’t talk for a couple of days (also mutual) and then your mom’s dry cleaning shows up with the sweatshirt in tow
you send him a picture of it with some tear stains on it and he’s like … are you crying
then he’ll show up at your house not even thinking about the sweatshirt, just the fact that he doesn’t like it when you cry
will do anything to get you to stop crying
apologizes 18 times and puts on the tear-stained sweatshirt while going “wow, it’s so clean!” in hopes that you’ll at least laugh
after he fixes the crying situation you apologize too and suddenly it’s like it never happened
things go back to normal in a week
taerae
fights with taerae are quiet
tbh i just think his anger/sadness/any negative emotion is quiet
there’s no yelling, no crying, no insults, no nothing
the argument itself will be a bunch of isolated statements paired with scoffs, rubbing your tumbles, and feeling exasperated
neither of you leaves to cool off, and you just sit in different rooms after the fact
the next day might be a bit awkward and taerae will be somewhat cold towards you (and it would be a lie to say you don’t reciprocate the same exact energy)
but at some point during the day, while you’re sulking and laying down in bed, taerae will come in and lay down next to you
starts off by saying sorry and then you talk things out while just … laying there
he’s neither the type of person to take all the blame nor the type of person to shove all the blame onto you
like you could be entirely at fault but he will distribute responsibility equally between the two of you
he’s just the type of guy who really does not like arguing so he will do whatever he can to fix it quickly
after you’re done talking you’ll go on a long drive together
it’s aimless and quiet, but he holds your hand the whole time :)
things go back to normal within 3 days
ricky
i think fights with ricky are turbulent
you never really know the direction they’re going to go in you know
you don’t necessarily fight often but it’s not like you never fight, either
i think it’s a healthy amount of bickering
somewhat like an old couple LOL
if you have a big argument, though, it’s pretty much the least fun you’ve ever had in your whole entire life
ricky isn’t the type of guy to yell and cry but he’s the type of guy to give you a look that makes you feel like crying
i also think he’d struggle to take everything you’re saying seriously so he might laugh in exasperation from time to time
which obviously makes you angrier
i think if you end up crying, though, ricky will have like a crazy moment of clarity where he’s like … oh shit
cue some crazy introspection
you’ll run off somewhere else in the house and he’ll just sit on the couch and think
he’s practically taking notes on the entire thing, and studying what he thinks was the most out-of-pocket for him to say and what he needs to apologize for
after he’s gathered his thoughts he’ll seek you out and ask if you’re okay sitting down and talking with him
and he will wait however long he needs to if you say no
he essentially says everything he feels necessary, ends it off with an apology and kisses your hand
then it’s over
things go back to normal within the day
gyuvin
you bicker with gyuvin a lot and 99.9% of the time it’s silly and super unserious
that’s the type of couple you are yk
so your fights are born out of your little, unserious arguments actually going a little bit too far, and they last soooo long
and most of it happens in front of your friends which isn’t nice either
it starts out very small, with little jabs at one another
keeps amping up for the rest of the night, and once you both leave whatever hangout you were at, all your friends are like … they’re gonna fight guys get ready
they’re right
you argue the entire way home and when he drops you off he doesn’t even give you a good night kiss, which makes things even worse
you continue arguing over text and into the next few days all while acting like everything is fine
meanwhile, you’re texting your friends (separately) like can you believe that he just said that? can you believe he’s pulling this shit?
finally they lock you two in a room and tell you to figure it out because your arguing is annoying
you will painstakingly be like “okay maybe i went too far” and he essentially does the exact same thing
and then he apologizes for not giving you a good night kiss that one time and everything is fine
things go back to normal in like 2 weeks but just keep in mind for the entire 2 weeks you were just being passive-aggressive with each other
gunwook
arguments with gunwook are born out of stress and aren’t really arguments
he’s a busy guy who’s doing a lot of things and sometimes he bites off more than he can chew
which isn’t nice because he refuses to be like “hey i might have to lay off boyfriend duties for a couple of days so i can work through all these commitments i made without thinking” because he thinks he’ll be a bad boyfriend because of it
essentially you’re not even aware he’s getting upset with you until the stress bubbles over one day
he accidentally tells you to leave him alone and let him work which makes you sad :(
but you do because you pretty much understand that he’s overwhelmed
but you’re still upset so you don’t just forgive him and move on because … idk … if he talked to you it wouldn’t have happened in the first place
is this petty … kind of yes but if you want things to change you need to put your foot down!!!
so you spend the next two or three days missing your boyfriend a miserable amount before he texts you saying “can we talk”
of course you can
you practically sprint to his house
and you talk!! and he apologizes for being mean to you while promising it won’t happen again
and gunwook learns from his actions so it really doesn’t happen again
things go back to normal in 3-4 days
thank you for reading !

Stolen Moments
High School!AU | MCU!Peter Parker x Best Friend!Reader
genre: fluff
description: You and Peter’s first kiss didn’t go the way you planned.
word count: 2.6k
warnings: references to Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter not knowing any fairytales/Disney princesses and being a lovable dork
a/n: Another snippet based on real life events of how my bf and i got together lol. Enjoy the fluff and please feel free to let me know if you liked it!
One thing you loved most about your best friend was his inability to remember classic fairy tales. No matter how many times you summarized them, Peter would find a way to botch it every single time. Even going so far as to invent alternative story lines, which never failed to crack you up. You would tease him endlessly for it, but then he’d grill you for having never watched Star Wars or any of the Harry Potter movies. That’s what we’d call balance in your friendship.
“Fairy tale pop quiz!” Peter groaned dramatically as he plopped down on his couch, phone in hand with your big grinning face on FaceTime.
“Not fairy tales… anything but those. They’re my weakness,” he whined. You laid on your side in bed, giggling.
“The great Peter Parker who’s in band, robotics, and the decathlon can’t recall a few simple fairy tales?”
“Well, I actually quit those,” he shared, ruffling the back of his hair with a sheepish grin. Your face fell, eyes wide and concerned.
“Wait, when? Why?”
It’s not like Peter could tell you he was Spider-Man even though he really, really wanted to. The less you knew, the better. He wouldn’t be able to live with himself if anything happened to you.
“I’m really busy.”
“Stark Internship?”
His eyes lit up when you gave him a reason. “Right, yes!”
Thank god for your incredible memory. “Makes sense. It’s been a while since we’ve even FaceTimed each other. You’re usually so busy at night.”
He saw the way your lips pouted as your crestfallen eyes looked away from the camera, making his chest feel tight. “I miss you too.”
Your gaze flickered back up to meet his own. Peter gulped, wondering if he sounded too emotional. Too affectionate. Too… obvious.
“Touché, Parker,” you said, rolling onto your back. “Okay, no more stalling. Tell me… which fairy tale princess ate the poison apple?”
Peter shut his eyes tight, thinking carefully. You both went to LegoLand one time and there was a display case that had the poison apple. You had asked him the same question then, pointing at the apple excitedly.
“Before we’re old would be nice,” you teased. Peter lifted up his index finger and shushed you.
“Hold on, I got it,” His eyes fluttered open after remembering there was a small sign next to the poison apple display. “Little Mermaid.”
“Why would The Little Mermaid eat a poisonous apple?!” You bursted out into laughter at his confidence. “Dude, you said the same thing back when we went to LegoLand. The sign was in the wrong spot.”
“Darn it,” he muttered with a snap of his fingers.
“I’ll give you a hint. Weather.”
“... Tornadoes?”
“What princess has “tornado” in her name?!” you exclaimed, trying your best not to wheeze. Peter couldn’t help but join in the laughter, knowing he was making a fool of himself.
“You snorted,” he said in a taunting voice. “Gross.”
“Shut up, you love it.”
It’s true. He loved your laugh. Mostly because you always laughed with your whole body and sometimes would keel over. Even in public. In fact, you were probably about to fall off your bed right this second because your face suddenly became blurry and shaky.
“Did you almost fall?”
You successfully caught yourself and your phone before it fell on your face. “No,” you readjusted your position and cleared your throat, “Try again. It’s cold weather.”
“It can’t be Frozen… I think I’d remember that. You’ve never said anything about an apple in Mulan the many times you’ve told me her story…” You nodded many times, appreciating the fact he remembered your love for Mulan. You saw how his brows furrowed in concentration, loving how serious he was taking this. “Snow White.”
“Good j—”
“Oh!” he shouted all of a sudden, almost giving you a heart attack. “She’s the one with the seven smurfs, right?!”
Oh Peter Parker…. You’re the cutest human alive, you thought.
Another wave of laughter overcame you, which intensified tenfold once you saw the big dumb smile on Peter’s face. The boy really thought he got it right.
“No… honey, they’re dwarfs,” you said once the laughter subsided.
“... Same thing,” he said, followed by a shrug. “I knew that.”
“Oh, we’re in for a long night. How about Jack and the Beanstalk?” That one should be easy.
“Ooh! Um… wait, I got it, quit laughing, I haven't even started,” he said, chuckling at how you placed a hand on your mouth to refrain from laughing more. “A guy sells a dog or cow or sheep for beans that grow into a big bean stalk and climbs up there and I think there’s a giant in the clouds? I don’t know.”
“I like how you completely disregarded the part where he was persuaded to sell his animal for magical beans, but okay. Pretty good.” You gave him a wink, which he returned.
“Told you I’m good at this.”
“Uh huh. Last one.”
Peter gave you a nod. “Go for it.”
“Cinderella.”
“Easy. She’s the one with long hair, with the glass shoes that’s supposed to be a perfect fit but somehow falls off and I think the guy uses her hair to find her and climb the castle before midnight when some magic wears off…”
You didn’t have enough energy to laugh and risk your abs becoming a liability, so you opted for parting your lips open slightly, shocked at how someone could be so, so wrong.
“I think there’s some sisters or step sisters in it too!” he added, giving himself a pat on the back. “Nailed it.”
“Quite the opposite,” you said, shaking your head. “I love your dumbass sometimes.”
He knew you were using the word as a term of endearment, so it made him smile. He loved you too. So much.
“What’s occupying all that headspace of yours these days that you can never remember the stories?” you teased.
You are… and Spider-Man, Peter thought to himself.
"Oh you know, there's an ongoing battle between my inner monologue and my stomach's incessant cravings for Aunt May's chocolate chip cookies. Spoiler alert: the cookies usually win."
“Oh my gosh, her cookies are the best.”
“Right?”
You both laid on your sides, a comforting silence blanketing the two of you for a few seconds.
“So um…” you started to say, a twinge of nervousness in your voice. “Because your knowledge on Cinderella is so—”
“Awesome?”
“Awful,” you corrected, smiling at his lame joke. “I was wondering if you wanted to go see the school play this Friday. They’re performing Cinderella.”
Peter sat up from his couch. “You mean, you and me, g-going together?”
“Yeah. MJ didn’t want to go because seeing a damsel in distress who solely relies on a man saving her kills her vibe.” Peter chuckled at that. “Are you and Ned doing anything?”
“No.”
“Oh good,” You paused. “You can invite him to come too!”
Oh.
Peter hid his disappointment by placing his phone down on the couch for a split second, gathering his thoughts. Why was he assuming that this was a date? Of course you’d ask Ned to come too. He was so silly.
“Peter?” you said. “Peter~, are you still there?”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m here.” He picked up the phone and gave you a thumbs up. “I’ll go. And I’ll ask Ned about it.”
“Cool. See ya then. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
Peter was so nervous. Which he knew was ridiculous because this was not a date, yet he spent hours picking out an outfit. What does one even wear to a school play anyway? In the end, he slipped on a white button-up with some jeans and headed to the school.
He saw you standing by the front doors, wearing a pretty blouse and shorts. Simple but cute nonetheless. You always looked pretty to him.
“Hey! Sorry I’m late,” Peter said while running up the steps to get to you. “Were you waiting long?”
You shook your head. “Not at all. The play starts in five minutes, so you made it on time.”
“Good. Good…” Now that he was up close, Peter noticed how you styled your hair differently from what you usually did. “Did you do something to your hair?”
“Yeah… is it weird?”
Peter shook his head rapidly. “No, you look good.”
“Just good?”
“Great. Spectacular. Fantastic,” he said with exploding hand motions.
You giggled. “Okay Mr. Thesaurus. Where’s Ned?”
“Ned told me he didn’t want to go.” Which Peter was secretly thankful for, but he’d never let you know that.
“Okay. Then it’ll just be us two. Let’s go.”
The two of you walked to the front doors and you didn’t miss how Peter practically ran in front of you just to open it first. You thanked him and then made your way to the school’s auditorium. Peter always suggested sitting in the back, claiming it had the best view but in reality, it’d be the easiest for him to slip away if duty called.
You did notice his backpack, finding it slightly odd he brought it to school after hours. However, you didn’t think too much of it because Peter always carried a backpack. It was handy when the two of you hung out at the mall and snuck in snacks into the movie theater or when you accidentally bought too much stuff at Target after claiming you only needed one thing.
“I bet Betty is going to look so beautiful. She’s Cinderella,” you said as you sat down on Peter’s left side.
You’re beautiful.
“Really? And Ned’s not the prince? I wonder how he feels about that.”
“Oh, they broke up,” you informed him. “I found out yesterday.”
“What? Dang, we could’ve had a double date,” he joked, testing the waters with you. You playfully smacked his arm.
“In your dreams.”
The lights soon dimmed, letting you and Peter know the play was about to begin. Honestly, the play was far more entertaining than expected because it turned out to be a parody of Cinderella, much to your horror. Peter was relishing at how upset you were, whispering to him every few minutes on how the story “wasn’t accurate.” Honestly, it was super adorable seeing you so worked up.
You leaned close to Peter’s ear, causing his breath to hitch. “This is so ridiculous. It’s supposed to be a pumpkin carriage, not pumpkin pie.”
“... There’s supposed to be a carriage?” he whispered back.
“See, this play is tainting your mind.”
“But you can’t tell me you’re not enjoying it.”
“It is pretty funny,” you admitted, noticing his arm on your shared armrest. You were about to place your hand on top of his when Nick Fury’s stern voice echoed loudly in his ear.
“Parker. Are you in position?”
“No,” Peter said loud enough for you to hear. You immediately retracted your hand and Peter realized what you were about to do.
“No…?” you said softly. The look of hurt in your eyes made Peter panic.
“And why the hell not?” Nick Fury interrogated. Peter slapped his ear/earpiece to shut it up.
“I-I didn’t mean that. Um… I need to go to the restroom.”
“You okay?”
“I’m…” His mind raced for an excuse. “I’m feeling sick, um, I ate dairy and you know I’m lactose intolerant and all that.” He got out of his seat awkwardly, your eyes never leaving him. It pained him to see you so worried. “Oof, I’m feeling it now. Gonna be a while.”
He held onto his stomach to make for a convincing act.
“Okay. Feel better.”
He apologized to you and then ran out of the auditorium.
“Parker, you better be on your way,” Fury’s voice warned.
“I’m coming,” Peter huffed, looking at the backside of your head one last time before disappearing.
Peter finished his mission by the time the play had already ended. He saw you were sitting at the front of the school on the steps, so he had to go through the back and exit as if he had come from the restrooms.
“Whoo~! That was painful,” Peter said as he approached you, hand on his stomach and backpack on his back. He let out a sharp exhale and watched your expressions to see if you were buying it. “I really shouldn’t have eaten that ice cream… I’m sorry. I left you all alone.”
“It’s okay. Betty says hi by the way.”
“Oh. Hi.” He held his hand up and waved at you as if you were Betty. That earned a chuckle from you. “I really am sorry. What did I miss?”
He took the seat next to you on the steps. “Well, it’s safe to say you’ll never learn the real story of Cinderella. Or at least the Disney version.”
“Was it that bad?”
“The worst.”
He nudged his shoulder against yours, flashing you a warm smile. “Are you mad at me?”
“A little. I waited outside the restrooms for you, but you took so long.”
“... It really hurt my bowels. The battle was rough.”
You rolled your eyes. “Uh huh. You know what, I’ll forgive you if you can answer one thing. What’s something pretty much all the Disney princesses have in common?”
Peter pouted his lips in confusion, searching his brain for a possible answer. “They’re… girls?”
“No… they all get kissed by the end of the movie.”
“O-Oh… Oh. Oh~,” he shot you a perplexed look. “Have you… ever been kissed?”
You nodded. “Yeah. By my ex-boyfriend.” Ah, right. Peter was not fond of him at all. “What about you?”
“Me? No…” he looked down at the cement. “Not yet.”
“Didn’t you and Liz date? You guys didn’t kiss?”
He shook his head. “No. And I’d probably messed it up anyway.”
“You don’t know that.”
“Well in the movies and stuff it’s always perfectly well executed.”
You scooted a bit closer to him so that your knees would touch. “That’s only in movies. Most people’s first kiss is awkward.”
“Was yours?”
“Yeah. But I’d like to think I’m way better at it now.”
That made Peter’s eyes widen, but he still kept his gaze glued to the ground. “I-Is that so?”
“I mean… Do you want to find out?”
He finally lifted his head up to look at you. You reached your hand over, caressing the side of his face and he leaned into your touch right away. Was this a dream? Because his heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest. Having his first kiss was one thing but having it with you? That’s all he ever wanted.
“There’s no such thing as a perfectly executed first kiss. But I’d like to try to give you one if you want,” you said softly.
“Y-Yeah… that’d be nice.”
You smiled and leaned in closer, but Peter got too eager and pecked you on the lips first. He couldn’t help it. He’s been wanting to kiss you since forever. So yeah, it was sloppy and unplanned with zero technique. He honestly almost missed. You stared at him, too stunned to speak for a moment before your face twisted into frustration.
“Peter!”
“What?”
“That's not how it was supposed to be! I was going to kiss you soft and sweet and slow and it was supposed to be romantic. You ruined it!”
“I’m pretty happy with it,” he said nervously. The look you gave him screamed murder.
“Ugh. Well, thats all you get. Your first kiss. Rushed and terrible.”
“I can live with that.”
You blushed for the first time that night and Peter had to stop himself from doing a backflip out of joy.

New camper: Percy Jackson x reader (daughter of apollo)
A/n: thank you so much for giving this a read! This is my first time writing for the PJO universe so let me know if you like it! Requests are open! No NSFW or Smut! Enjoy
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Good morning" Percy said tiredly, greeting his best friend Grover at the dining pavilion, taking a seat next to him.
"Morning" Grover replied, "hey did you see Annabeth on your way here? She's usually the first one here and I haven't seen her yet"
As if almost on cue she was walking towards the boys, an excited smirk painted across her face.
"Camp Half-Blood has a new camper!"
"What?!" replied Percy
"She showed up late last night, all alone. Chiron told me she had been hurt pretty badly but he took her into the infirmary and gave her some Ambrosia"
"She took it? So, she's definitely a half-blood?" Percy asked
"Yep! We should be meeting her later today" Annabeth was ecstatic, she loved new campers!
--time skip--
As the day went on there was still no sight of the new camper. Word had made its way around camp and people began to take their guesses as to who was her parent.
"I hope she's in our cabin!" A child of Aphrodite had said
"No! I bet she HAS to be in ours! Showing up without a Satyr by her side means she's a warrior"an Ares kid chimed
"As long as she's not in ours I dont care" a tired looking Hermes kid said.
It was almost dinner time when Chiron had found Percy, sparring with someone from the Ares cabin.
"Percy can I speak to you for a moment?"
"Yeah sure" he said, removing his helmet and recapping his sword.
"Im sure you've heard we've had a new camper join us."
"Yeah it's all over camp" he replied
"Ah yes. Well let's say she hasn't been thrilled to learn about her new family. Reminds me a lot of you when you first came here"
Percy thought back to his first few days at camp. He was confused, scared, angry, and very much overwhelmed.
"I was wondering if you could help ease her mind by speaking to her. You understand what she's feeling better than I can."
"And im not half horse" Percy smiled
"Yes there is that" Chiron chuckled
"Alright I want to meet her!" Percy agreed. He really did want to help, but he also knew how jealous Annabeth would be that he met her first. The two walked into the big house and there she was, staring down at her feet.
"Y/N, this is Percy, son of Poseidon. Percy this is Y/N. I'm sure you two will get long swimmingly" Chiron chuckled at his own joke, "I will give you two some privacy" with that, he left the room. Leaving the two teenagers alone.
An awkward silence filled the room, when finally Y/N broke the silence.
"Son of Poseidon, huh?" she asked
"That's me" he smiled, proud of the title he held.
"That's crazy, the gods don't exist!"
"They do exist. I know it all feels a bit insane at first but-"
"A bit?! My whole life i've had these things coming after me and I didn't understand why. I thought I was insane and seeing things, but apparently that's normal?! And my dad? The reason he's neglected me my whole life was because he was a god?! There's just no way"
"Hey, it's gonna be ok. I know how you feel. I felt like that when I first got here. All my life my dad wasn't someone I had thought about much because I had my mom, and thats all I needed. Then I find out that he's now the most important thing in my life? I had so many emotions, but if you just give this place a chance? I promise everything gets a lot less scary"
This seem to get to the girl. She started to tear up.
"Ok, i'll try." she whispered
"I'll show you around and it'll all be ok, I promise."
The two made their way around camp, Y/N was mostly silent. "The sun is so warm here, it's not like that where I'm from"
"Everything is a little bit stronger here."
"I can tell" she smiled
"So, do you have any idea who your dad might be?" Percy asked, careful not to poke at the sensitive subject.
"I think but I'm not sure. My mom used to talk about Apollo, a way she never did about other Gods"
"Ok then...then we have to find a way for him to see you! If he see's you, he'll claim you!"
"Yeah but how?"
"Gods dont claim you because they feel like it, you have to work for it" Annabeth said, inviting herself to the conversation.
"Y/N this is Annabeth, daughter of Athena"
"Hey" Y/n said
"Percy have you taken her to the archery field? Apollo kids thrive there"
"No I didn't"
"Seaweed brain c'mon!" Annabeth rolled her eyes, "Lets go" she led the two there and put a bow and arrow in Y/N's hands. The girl had fired it easily and hit the bullseye.
"Beginners luck?" y/n asked
"Go again" Chiron said, but before she could something came flying down at her, she shot it down easily.
"That could've killed us" Percy said, mouth agape, "and you shot it down with ease!" he said
"Look!" One of the campers said
Y/N was becoming engulfed in a bright light and a sun appeared over her head. She was now an official resident of cabin 7

Red Reznikov Fluff Alphabet
A = Aroma (What do they smell like?)
Aside from the smells of the kitchen, Red smells like orange peels with a hint of sugar.
B = Babe (What would they use as pet names? Do they use them a lot?)
She has a ton of pet names for you. Mostly in Russian, and there’s a fair amount of them that she simply will not tell you the meaning of.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
She’s not about to cuddle with you right off the bat. That’s something that’s earned with her. She does enjoy a cuddle every now and then though.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? What would they think about living together?)
Red is all about family, so settling down isn’t even a question. She’s not in for something casual.
E = Emotion (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Red is pretty reserved in her affections, at least out in the open. Though she does show her love in less direct ways, like picking up something you need, or cooking you something extra special.
F = Flirt (How do they flirt? Are they smooth or awkward?)
If she feels like putting in the effort, Red can definitely flirt. She doesn’t often, mainly lets you pursue her, but when she does, it’s guaranteed to leave you feeling very flustered.
G = Gifts (Are they a gift giver? What kind of gifts do they give?)
Red is very much a gift giver. She likes to give you small gifts just as reminders that she loves you and has been thinking about you.
H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)
She can certainly get behind the idea of a good hug. If you’ve been apart for any length of time, expect a big ol’ bear hug upon return.
I = I Love You (How fast do they say the L-word?)
She shows it more than says it, so you might have to wait a while for the actual words to pass her lips, but it’s well worth it when you finally do hear it.
J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)
She only gets jealous if she thinks someone is an actual threat to you or to her. If they’re playing nice with you and she thinks they have ulterior motives, she’ll be stepping in and warning them off before you know it.
K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you?)
Red loves to kiss your head, your cheek and even sometimes the palm of your hand.
L = Little ones (How are they around children? Would they want some of their own?)
She raised three boys, so needless to say, she can definitely handle children. She wouldn’t want any more however. That chapter of her life is behind her.
M = Meet (How did they meet you?)
At lunch during your first day. Unlike Piper, you complimented the food, after having nil to nothing for the day or two prior.
N = Nurture (Are they good at taking care of you if you’re hurt/sick?)
The best. Red will have a thousand and one Russian home remedies to get you feeling better faster, some are far more palatable than others.
O = Out (What’s a typical date night with them like?)
A home cooked meal, usually made by Red, though sometimes she lets you help, followed by some quality time in whatever form that may come in.
P = Propose (When do you/they propose? How does the proposal go?)
Red wouldn’t want to make a big to do out of it. She’d prefer that if you were to propose, you’d just pull her aside and ask.
Q = Quirk (What small habit/feature/quirk do they have that you find especially endearing?)
The way she runs her fingers through her hair when she’s trying to look extra intimidating never fails to make you smile, but you wouldn’t want her to catch you doing it.
R = Routine (What does a typical day together look like? Routines, schedules, habits?)
She’s always up really early to get the morning meal started, and despite always wanting to help, she prefers you to get your sleep. It’s in the evenings that you really get to spend some time together. It’s her favorite part of the day, reading her book with your head on her lap is the best way for her to wind down.
S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you?)
She’s very protective. God help anyone who crosses you. Lucky for you, few people dare mess with Red, so you can rest assured you’re pretty safe.
T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, etc?)
She puts in more effort than she’d ever admit to. She wants her special plans to look like they were spontaneous, but she’s organized every detail way in advance so everything will go off without a hitch.
U = Unique (What’s something they’d only do for you?)
She’d only let herself be truly vulnerable with you. She shows some vulnerability with Nicky, but even then there’s a bit of a wall up. But for you, it comes down.
V = Vulnerable (How long does it take them to feel comfortable being vulnerable around you?)
As mentioned above, it’s something she only allows herself around you. That being said, it does take a good, long while for her to even reach that point.
W = Wardrobe (What would they wear to impress you?)
That’s not something she ever really thinks about. You’re so damn besotted with her, she doesn’t think it would much matter.
X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)
Red’s main love language is food. But, she also loves physical touch, as long as it’s kept behind closed doors. You can get all lovey dovey with her and she’ll positively melt for it.
Y = You (What are some things they would like in a partner?)
She’d want someone who can be strong, yet still let her take the lead with most things. They’d have to have a good heart and go absolutely crazy for her cooking.
Z = Zzz (What are their sleep habits?)
Red can be a fitful sleeper at times. Sometimes you have to gently wake her from a nightmare, and when she’s able to settle back down, she’s usually a more peaceful sleeper afterwards.

Sometimes I wish Star Wars had gone in a more cultish direction with the First Order because I think having a friendship (an unhealthy, dysfunctional and toxic one) between the First Order triumvirate would have been kinda cute in an off putting way but also a good source of angst and I love angst. Like, cults prey upon those who lack connection and are looking for a sense of purpose, and I think that would have played into the big connection themes in Star Wars.
Like, little Ben Solo looking for belonging, feeling lost and like he cannot possibly measure up to his family legacies and he meets two young people equally driven to live up to Imperial Legacies. Phasma is a common First Order child soldier who fascinated by Boba Fett who did whatever it took to win. She wants to be the best fighter, to be noticed and seen by others, and will do anything for it. She is already well on her way at a young age. Little Armitage Hux has a mild god complex, believing (knowing) that he could make an unbeatable Death Star, that he can fix the weaknesses of his family legacy (less of an unwanted child in this version, more of a single survivor of his bloodline deal) and restore his family name to greatness. He misses his family dearly and resents the hell out of the New Republic quietly though (would probably prefer his actual family back than greatness but lacks EQ to realize this).
Snoke offers Ben everything he wants: like minded peers and a chance to be as great as his family. That would be hard for a teen to turn down, especially as Snoke would be hiddibg the fine print of this deal.
Hux, Phasma and Ben would likely exist for long periods of time with minimal conflict between them as they aren’t direct competitors. Hux does a lot of the planning and scheming, Phasma runs the pragmatic and social game, and Kylo leads the spiritual and visionary role of the group. Yeah they probably quibble over what they specifically want and need for their own power and plans, but it would probably be low grade jabs that teens usually trade in. More “your stormtroopers are well trained in treason” than force choking and blaster fire. Cooperation would be the best way to increase their power and influence.
I feel like having both the good and bad guys have the whole “power of friendship” on their side would have been an interesting dynamic when contrasting them. Rey and Hux both want their families back but can’t have it so they cling to their friends, Finn and Phasma are ultimately just trying to survive in abysmal conditions (one goes high visibility violent to deter others from attacking her where Finn goes avoidant, only fighting long enough to flee), and Kylo and Poe are trying to reconcile their family legacies with their own personalities and abilities. The difference is that the First Order triumvirate is a much older and well defined connection that is adjusting to new changes and pressures; Hux won by the start of TFA he built an even better Death Star (I think having it blow up in the First movie was ultimately the wrong move it would have been more threatening if it hung in for all three movies to emphasize that the First Order isn’t messing around) and that puts pressure on Phasma and Kylo, who are still not at Legendary Boba Fett/Vader levels. Like, your friend rising to the top of the heap before 40 when you’re still trying to reach previous levels would sting. On the other hand, Hux might genuinely resent Kylo for killing Han, because Hux feels his victory is empty without his parents and siblings around to see it. Phasma and Kylo are probably too self conscious and jealous after Starkiller success to actually acknowledge that Hux did the thing until like movie 3 when there might be some emotional resolution for that group, so Hux is probably just sitting with a hollow victory all movie 2 and is now just fully depressed as the one thing he thought would make him happy didn’t. This could be resolved by end of movie 3 or blow up in their faces when their relationship can’t hack the pressures anymore.
Flip that to the tensions you could do with Rey, Finn and Poe. Poe feels like his mother and other rebellion sacrifices were for nothing since the First Order took over in like a week, so he feels like a failure which results in him taking bigger and bigger risks, threatening his own life. This freaks out Rey who is PETRIFIED of losing the people she cares about again, and Finn goes to an avoidant attachment style where he starts trying to not care about either of them and does a Han Solo Hoth exit (he comes back again quickly but it freaks Rey out even more so she’s not ending the middle movie in a good place). I think the end moral ends up being something like “Avoiding one kind of pain leads to another, be open about what you’re going through so people can help because you’re never completely alone” kinda thing. Maybe you can’t be the perfect Jedi who avoids fear entirely, but fear is a gift that tells you what you care about and you can work with that. The First Order Triumvirates cardinal sin is that they’re pursing outdated markers of success and security that they think will protect them and the people they care about, but it worsens their relationships and self worth instead.
IDK man this feels like an AU that I could develop into a full rework of the sequels but it is half baked at best. I just think it would be fun to Rey and Finn screeching at Luke to give them combat training while the whole time Luke is just bouncing Grogu and other Jedi younglings around and asking them “So do you feel like you can really trust each other, or do you trust that the other is useful in filling a gap in your own life?”. Just relationship counselling the shit out of everyone. Like, recontextualize the whole “can you control the darkness in yourself” Yoda question as “can you build a support network strong enough to support you and your loved ones when you feel the darkness”. Because while Leia, Han and Luke all tried that, they built networks that only worked for them, not the people they loved, which resulted in isolation and deterioration of their relationships over time (Leia rebuilt Alderaan, Han built a semi legal shipping company and Luke built his Jedi school, but none of those things had room for the people they loved).
Edit: also, it adds a degree of Kylo having to think it through at the end where he either has to actively destroy Phasma and Hux, the people he is closest to or back down. He has to actively do all the things that made Vader as miserable as he was (lose a parent, kill the one he loves most, betray his mentor/father figure) to HIMSELF. And that’s an interesting question: is this character actually resilient enough to go through what Vader did? Can you do it completely alone, with the knowledge that no one else could do this to you but you? When does self hatred become that destructive?

Sorry, i lost the original post. But maybe something fluffy, honestly, most of the primarchs just need a nice stable partner. So maybe the primarchs in domestic situations. Or the other primarchs meeting konrad or pertarabos S/O and being surprised.
Yes. I love the idea of these two big sad boys having a snuggle bug ray of sunshine as a partner. Someone who can keep them grounded and happy.
Konrad:
His brothers stared in complete shock as Konrad stepped to the side and let your diminutive form glance out from behind him. Your smile is already the brightest thing in view, and they are speechless for a moment until you speak for the first time, and your voice is as soft and warm as the rest of you.
"Hello, it is so very nice to meet the brothers of my dear fiancé."
Konrad gestures to you in an almost gallant gesture, quite it of character for him and smiles. It's not a pleasant smile, even if it bares the genuine emotion of happiness that he feels. His cracked lips and dark eyes are just so that the look is somewhat off-putting. But his lips aren't as cracked, his dark eye bags not as dark, his gaunt skin not as unhealthy and pale. The faintest hint of a blush him on his razor-sharp cheeks.
"Yes.. my brothers, this is my intended. Aren't they lovely?" His voice was its usual rasping caw, but the humor behind it was finer than any of them had ever heard.
Horus was the first to step forward and greet you. His deep commanding voice vibrated through your whole body as you shook his hand. He certainly had a commanding presence, but the reassuring hand of your lover kept you from being shaken apart by it.
Sanguinius greeted you next, light and warm and kind, just as you had heard. He seemed very pleased to learn about you, and he was even happier to see the real joy you brought to the night haunter's eyes.
Magnus came next and stood before you. He swet down to one knee and took your hand in both of his. His one-eyed face was no less handsome than his brothers, and it certainly didn't detract from his smile in your opinion. "You are really quite a special one, I must say." He compliments, and you felt as though a warm set of hands had set over your whole body, as though they were getting a measure of you as a person on a far deeper level than physical.
"Well, you must pardon us now, brothers. I have to attend a brief matter with my darling. I will be back shortly."
After both you and Konrad had disappeared from sight, Magnus was the first to speak up. "He was happy! Really, truly happy. I've never felt such exquisite delight and hop from him before. That little fiancé of his is quite the find."
"Yes I must agree." Sanguinius shared, almost laughing with pure delight at the shift in his normally gloomy brother. "Did you see the way he looked at them? Like they were the light at the center of the universe."
"I did. I hope our brother is always this happy moving forward with them." Horus nodded, and the three of them smiled.
Perturabo:
You fit so snuggly in his lap, happily smiling and kissing the primarch's cheek when he came down close enough for you to do so. And he would return the gesture politely and with the faintest quirk of his lip. It was so faint that his brothers had to strain to really notice the smile.
"I see you have found yourself something that is to your liking, my brother." Lorgar said. He did not normally spend time with the Lord of the iron warriors, but they'd been in close proximity to one another, and so he'd stopped by to spend time with one of his kin.
"Why yes, I'd say he has. And who can blame him? Look how darling and vibrant the little sweet heart is." Fulgrim added, turning a fine glass of wine in his hand as he looked you up and down.
They both couldn't help but notice how, at ease, the larger primarch was with you by his side.
You were still nervous in the presence of other primarchs. It was hard to k ow how to act around them. They were all so different.
"Yes, they have brought a lot to my life." Perturabo agreed and held you tighter. He sipped his own wine and looked down at you. The gleam of satisfaction in his eyes made you melt into a happy like puddle against his chest.
The two brothers watched, and both seemed genuinely quite pleased that you were both happy.
"Well, this casks for a story, brother. You must regale us with how you met this sweet heart." Fulgrim locked his gaze on you and felt his own longing to have a wife again flare up. No matter how short their lives had been compared to his.
Perturabo breathed out a sigh, not with annoyance surprisingly, and actually smiled as he began to recall the day in precise detail. You piped up every so often with thoughts and details of your own.
Lorgar and Fulgrim listened or asked questions periodically, and you happily filled them in, more comfortable as the night went on.
Perturabo finished the story with a kiss on your cheek, and it was enough to prove to the brothers that it was real and that made them glad.

A/N: It's baaaaack! A few updates; I know we used to have an update every week, due to mental health and general constraints in time -- This series will no update every other week. In the weeks between you'll get the sneak peak. I know it's not ideal, but with the pace the series is being written at this is the best I can currently offer. Hope you enjoy this part!
* It’s hard to describe the exact sensation that plagued the days after Luke’s betrayal.
* At first it wasn’t terrible, you would rouse from your cabin and make your way to the big house where a comatose Percy slept, pale blue light pouring from your hands.
* While he was still unconscious you could maintain a steady rhythm for your days.
* You would wake up in the morning, drink some nectar, heal Percy, have a snack, and go back to sleep.
* But the second Percy woke up, back to swinging swords and beheading monsters, it felt like every ounce of responsibility left your body.
* Your glass of nectar started to be a bit more full every morning.
* The full breakfast with coffee Dionysus laid out felt less appetizing.
* And you started to find solace in the relief of sleep.
* You watched the three moons of the Underworld all aligned in a burning red sky.
* “Are you okay?” The boy with scars on his chest asks.
* “Of course! I’m fine!”
* A plump red strawberry nestled in your palm.
* “If you want, my mother might be able to help, I could bring you to her.” The woman with hair the color of rust whispers, the cow nestled in her lap snorts.
* “It’s fine, I’m fine.”
* You sit next to a hippie in a strawberry field, her bright hair held up by a tie dye headband.
* “You’ve got to let that stuff go man.”
* “What stuff? I’m fine.”
* You drift from reality to reality, never really sure of what you’re experiencing or what you’re looking for.
* You stand in cold water that comes up to your calves, so clear and blue it feels like liquid aquamarine.
* You can see white doves in the distance, soaring to the place where sky meets water.
* “I haven’t seen you in a while.” It’s the boy from earlier, the one with pure white hair, Zeus’s personal secretary.
* He seems more tan now though.
* “You look awful.”
* He still doesn’t seem to have much tact.
* Flustering under your apathetic gaze, his cheeks bloom a rosy hue, hand up in surrender.
* “N-not in a bad way, it’s just you usually…” his gaze softens, his freckles glinting like amber under the sunlight. “You usually seem as vibrant as a fresh rose.”
* Well, that’s quite a compliment.
* “I was betrayed by a friend recently,” you shrug and he gapes “but it’s fine, I’m—”
* “No you’re not fine! How could you be?” He grasps your shoulders in his hands, forcing you to face him entirely. “You were betrayed by your friend, how can you be okay?”
* “Because everyone expects me to be.”
* The words snap whatever feeble grip you have on your emotions.
* You feel the intense burn before you feel the heat of your tears as life down your face, cooling at the nape of your neck.
* Despair you’ve kept carefully contained begins to curl off your form
* Your hands move to cover your face, tears collecting on your wrist as your furiously move to wipe the remnants of your sadness away.
* The boy doesn’t let you feel bad for long, paying no mind to the physical pain of the despair that curls off of your form, tugging you to his chest.
* “You’re just a child, you’re allowed to feel sad.”
* The tears come harder now, sobs muffled by his broad chest, his warm hand on your back.
* You wake up sniffling, blurry eyes taking in the ceiling of your cabin, your alarm clock flashing three fourty-two in the morning.
* You clutch your heart, feeling tears slip down your face.
* You swallow hard and shuffle on an old sweatshirt and your slippers.
* You walk across camp in quick steps, past the training grounds where you see a flicker of his figure, past the porch of the Hermes Cabin where you would laugh with him, past Thalia’s tree where you sat and had picnics, each step punctuated with traces of your blue despair.
* You still for a moment at the Big House, but continue down the hills, Dionysus as kind as he is, isn’t who you need right now.
* You make your way down to the small hill, the place you first met him all those years ago.
* You feel that burning again.
* Despair curling off of your body like an aura, the grass at your feet withering away.
* You kneel on the barren earth, tears sliding down your face.
* You place your hands out, flinching away at the last moment.
* ‘Asking for help is always the hardest part.’
* You take a quick breath, tears shaking from your eyes, pressing your hands against the earth twice and before you can fully think you say: “Aidoneus.”
* He wraps you in his arms before you can croak out a word.
* “He betrayed me…HE BETRAYED ME!” You shriek, collapsing in on yourself like a dying star.
* He holds you tight, a hand cradling your head.
* “It’s okay, I’m here now, you’re okay.” He takes your despair like it’s his own, a monster who’s lived in his shadow all his life, only offering a single tear in its face.
* The hill outside Canp Halfblood is dyed blue that night, the divine boundary the only thing saving a dozen campers from melancholy dreams.
* “I keep wondering if there was something I could have done, something I could have said,” you sniff after you’ve calmed down, your face pressed against the soaked cotton of his button down shirt.
* He doesn’t say anything for a long time.
* “That boy…” you look up, eyes red rimmed. “Just as you have something you want to do, something you think only you can do, that boy feels the same.”
* You can see it, Luke, so distraught and torn after being a plaything for the gods for so long reaching out to the hand of a Titan who promised him a different kind of future, for him and for every child who came after him.
* “If you care for him,” Hades cradles your face in both of his palms, “if you care for that mortal boy like you were split from the same star, and carved from the same flesh, then I promise you nothing on earth, the underworld, or Olympus will keep you from reaching him.” He presses his forehead against yours and you nod.
* There was never any doubt.
* ‘If Luke’s lost his way then it’s no big deal, he has friends to bring him back.’
* “Do you feel better?” He asks, and you nod, your worn sweatshirt cuffs dabbing at your eyes. “Good, now drink.”
* He holds the flask to your lips and the sweet taste of your fathers slightly burnt chocolate chip cookies floods your mouth.
* “I lost your flask,” you suddenly remember, before sheepishly adding: “sorry.”
* He grins.
* “I know, it’s okay. It’s a miracle you all made it out—in comparison a flask is inconsequential.”
* His hand strokes your hair bank, his eyes warm as he looks down at you.
* “We’re all on your side.”
* “I know.”
* And you do, the proof is littered on your arm, blessings from each of them and every god they could find, trading favors and secrets to make sure you were secure.
* “As a king and a god, there will be times where I can’t show you explicit favor,” like he already hasn’t or something. “But if you call for me, I will always answer.”
* “Me too.” You’re not sure why you say it, just that it feels right, a smile illuminating your face. “If you call for me, I’ll answer you too.”
* He smiles so wide you feel like you catch a glimpse of the boy he once was.
* “Go, they're waiting for you.” He nods to Thalia’s tree, and you begin the climb up the steep hill, turning back to wave goodbye before he dissipates into smoke.
* When you reach the top, gold hued dawn breaking over the skyline, you’re met with three figures.
* Percy and Annabeth rush towards you first:
* “We’re going to go find him next summer,” Annabeth starts.
* Percy nods beside her. “We’ll bring him back.”
* Clarisse approaches you behind them. “He’s just going through a bout of teenage rebellion, a slap upside the head will set him straight.
* Grover nods beside her, still dressed in his nightshirt. “He’s just a little confused.”
* Dionysus smiles, “With all of us working together it’s just a matter of time until we bring Luke back home!”
* You feel the warmth of hope bloom in your chest, tears of joy stinging the corners of your eyes.
* “How could be possibly refuse when all of you are waiting for him?”
* ‘Because no one who’s lost ever stays lost.’
* Summer comes to an end, and for once everyone’s going home, you wave to Percy, Clarisse, and Annabeth as you part at the boundary line, going to your respective families.
* You think you see Clarisse cry a little when her mother greets her with a hug.
* “Everytime I pick you up from here I get the strange urge to shove you in the car and never bring you back.” Your father says when you’re nestled in his passenger seat.
* “What a completely normal thing to say to your child, do you have any other normal sayings or is this your best one?”
* “Alright smartass, you’ve got your uniform fitting the day after tomorrow.” You groan, a new year meant a new uniform.
* “They’re always so uncomfortable.” You mumble, face in your hands.
* You think about Luke more than you’d like to admit in the coming week, even out of camp you can’t help wondering where he is.
* Is he eating well? You think while you try your fathers new and improved risotto.
* Is he somewhere safe? You think when rain hits the glass window outside of Barney’s as the tailors fuss over your form.
* Is he able to sleep at night? You think when you’re cozy in your bed.
* And each time you strengthen your resolve.
* ‘I’m going to get him back.’ You think with every hearty bite of risotto.
* ‘He’s going to come back.’ You reinforce, meeting the tailors suggestions head on.
* ‘I’m going to save Luke Castellan, and not even Kronos can stop me.’ You manifest, right before you drift into silky black unconsciousness.
* You’re in a pavilion, ivory white columns on either side and white marble under your feet.
* Before you is possibly the most beautiful man you’ve ever seen, skin the color of dark amber, golden eyes, and tawny tresses.
* A jagged scar runs over his right eye, but even that only seems to accentuate the symmetry of his features.
* “Is there something I can help you with, godling?” He doesn’t spare you a glance, his eyes fixed on the green trees in the distance.
* You immediately fluster.
* Normally you would apologize, but instead what comes out of your mouth is:
* “Just because you’re beautiful doesn’t mean you can be cold, you know.”
* ‘Now I’m really in for it.’
* He raises an eyebrow.
* “Do you jest Demi-god?”
* You take the quirk of his lips as an invitation to sit beside him, taking in the scenery.
* “Whatever, like you don’t know you’re stupid hot.”
* “Hot? I think I’m the correct temperature.” He touches his forehead and you laugh.
* “No like…you’re handsome.”
* He smiles at you, and when he turns to face you, you realize where his left arm should be in a hood mechanical device in the shape of a human hand.
* ‘That’s interesting.’
* “I can’t say I share your sentiment.”
* “How did it happen?”
* He shrugs.
* “My Father betrayed me.” He shrugs.
* “Wow, your dad is super shitty.” Somehow he’s even worse than a deadbeat like Poseidon or a serial womanizer like Zeus.
* “Do you also have an awful Father?”
* “No, my Dad is the best.” He visibly deflated when you tell him that, earning a laugh. “But I recently had a good friend show a display of extreme betrayal.” Your eyes widen, the corner of your mouth twitching.
* “We could be betrayal buddies!”
* You said it as a joke, still you weren’t expecting the handsome man to laugh as hard as he did. You find yourself laughing along, waking up in your bed with tears in the corners of your eyes and laughter spilling past your lips.
* “What a wonderful dream.”
* You walk to school that morning feeling a little lighter. Excited to see all your old friends and classmates. Maybe you’ll even learn something interesting.
* ‘This is going to be a good year.’
* So imagine your surprise when you see a certain ocean-eyes boy at the gate.his gaze widens when he meets your eyes.
* “Hey (Y/N), do you go to Saint Catherine’s too?” Percy asks with a grin.

▸ ANSWERING. hello! i’m slowly catching up to the reqs since i’m starting feeling better (it’s been a whole week at this point, but whatever). hope you’ll enjoy it & thank u for sending a request <3
▸ FANDOM. kimetsu no yaiba
▸ CHARACTERS. giyu tomioka x teenager gn!reader + all the hashiras
▸ RATING. sfw
▸ WARNINGS. reader is 16 y/o while their sister and brother are around 5 and 7 y/o, soft giyu <3, not proofread you know the drill (:
giyu saved you and your two siblings from a demon who attacked your family
he found you holding your little sister and brother, trying to cover them from seeing your parents being eaten by the demon. the three of you were all crying and terribly shaking so at first giyu wasn’t really sure what to do
he asked you if there was someone who could take care of you, but you simply shook your head
in that moment he decided to take you with him, asked for permission to keep you all at his house
your little sister was the first to “move on” from what happened, but you couldn’t blame her since she was very young and you tried your best to hide the scenes from her
your brother on the other hand started being angry, acting completely different from what he used to be: kind, gentle and full of joy. but once again, you couldn’t blame him either
they noticed you were less present, always thinking about what happened and sometimes dwelling on your parents’ memories. giyu noticed you always cried during the first nights you spent at his house
he tried his best to take care of you. playing with your sister, helping your brother to deal with his emotions (he let him exercise to get rid of negative emotions) and gifting you stuff to get you distracted from your thoughts
you love when he comes back with delicious food or a book for you
anyway, giyu let you meet the other pillars after a week or so, because he wanted to be sure you all were feeling a bit better
let’s start, shall we?
shinobu was shocked
obanai spat a simple “impossible.”
sanemi stared at giyu, then glanced at you and your siblings, trying to process that he was taking care of random children
muichiro casually glanced at you and then looked back to the sky, muttering something about forgetting soon
gyomei felt sorry about your situation and started crying of course
kyojuro encouraged & praised giyu for his decision and complimented him
tengen was surprised but recognised it was a very flashy action, he was doing the right thing by taking care of you instead of abandoning you to your destiny
mitsuri was so excited she could feel her heart exploding (her eyes were literally shining). she offered her help since she has siblings and giyu appreciated it
of course, mitsuri ended up spending loads of time with you: playing, eating together, taking care of cute animals, etc
shinobu played an important role too because your sister easily got sick so going to the butterfly mansion became a sort of routine
your brother also enjoyed spending time with the flame hashira because he was funny and kind, while your sister used to share her food with the wind hashira
something you enjoyed was tengen giving you piggybacks, usually when you’re pretty tired after being out the whole day
giyu does the same sometimes but due to tengen being taller you find it funnier
he usually looks a bit sad because deep down he fears you guys will start hating spending time with him & seek the other pillars’ company
mitsuri comforts him, saying that everyone can see clearly how you all love him, you in the first place
you’re grateful for him taking all of you, providing for your needs, making sure you’re healthy and safe
“giyu-san, i am truly grateful for everything you do for me and for my siblings. i hope we will find a way to repay for everything in the future.”
here comes a big hug because he doesn’t care about it, he grew very fond of you all and would do anything to protect you
episode from the same “series” here !!
▸ BEFORE LEAVING. reblog and comments are super appreciated. i personally think that getting piggyback rides from tengen is amazing ): have a good day / night !!!

Alhaitham's and Kaveh's relationship in the Sumeru arhon quest: new perspective (for me, maybe for you too!).
Oh it will be long...
It started with my short thoughts about their first on-screen dialog and how it feels different now compared to a year ago, but then spiralled into me re-watching the entire Sumeru archon quest to properly analyse Alhaitham's hidden struggles during it and Kaveh's (not big but) actual plot relevance.
Disclaimer: I'm aware that English VAs were way more emotional then Chinese, especially in 3.2, but, for the sake of having the information to analyse, lets believe that at least the official eng text of their interactions is more or less correct... (I'm sorry I only know English and other languages most likely have translation errors as well anyway).
I'm also assuming that you've read their character stories and know their more deep personalities, not just "cold smart guy and artsy broke guy".
Anyway, I hope someone will find the analyses below as entertaining as I do.
1. Kaveh and Alhaitham: what we see during their first on-screen interaction.
Now, let's all time travel into the day when the last part of Sumeru's quest dropped. These sweet days... Version 3.2, two versions before we got Alhaitham as a playable character and four versions before Kaveh. By this point we've already known a little information about Alhaitham, mostly from the archon quest itself, and next to nothing about Kaveh.
Well, we knew some info, but it was mostly leaks and speculations, nothing more than "a genius architect who lives with Alhaitham because he is broke".
Now, if you didn't read the leaks and just carefully played the quest, you could actually catch some phrases here and there that implied that Alhaitham lives with someone before it was openly confirmed, but again, it's not specific at all. That is why our first meeting with a brand new sexy blond boy was so extreme in all ways. It was beautiful, emotional, entertaining and... extremely toxic. Both Alhaitham and Kaveh behaved surprisingly aggressive (calmer in Chinese but still more negative then what we usually see now). It was fun to watch, and made a lot of people including me really interested in those two from the get go.
But re-watching this dialog now after almost a year felt... Weird. Yes sure, they bicker, it's their thing, but if you compare any other scene with them later it's not nearly as intense... especially on Alhaitham's side (yes, even if you don't listen to va and just read the lines).
So it got me thinking. Why did Alhaitham behave like that? Was it a random writing decision for the drama effect? Or was there something more going on that I didn't understand?
After going through everything from start to finish I believe that yes, there was. But I'll need go through a lot of content recap to fully explain what I mean.
2. First aka "the first on-screen" aka "Where were you when Sumeru needed you most!?" dialog
It is essentially our first glimpse of Kaveh, which we catch in the library on the search for Alhaitham.
Kaveh has just returned to the city so he has no idea what is going on. The shown interaction starts with Kaveh demanding Alhaitham to put his book away and explain what is happening at the Academia. The fact that Kaveh is already pretty irritated when we first see him tricks us into thinking that he's a short-tempered overly dramatic guy, which is...
Well, partly true, but having already experienced how sweet Kaveh actually is we can see through that and realize that Alhaitham most likely was ignoring Kaveh's questions for some time now, and that's why our Kaveh was already on edge when we started. Already weird and we're just at the first line.
After that they bicker a little, Kaveh again asks about the Academia, on which Alhaitham answers: "Oh? I thought you would already knew the inside story."
Then they bicker again (2) and Alhaitham goes hard on Kaveh here. He even agrees with Kaveh that he doesn't say anything nice about him, because "anyone who knows you as well as I do would do the same". DAMN, Alhaitham, that's brutal even for you, why are you so mad, is something bothering you? Oh well..
Then they bicker again (3) and Alhaitham proposes Kaveh to move out of his house, but Kaveh ignores it and tries asking about the Academia again. Alhaitham ignores it as well and says "Forget what's going on with the Academia, haven't you been busy with your construction project?".
Kaveh doesn't want to answer this question and says that he's "getting angry just thinking about it" (worth noting). Kaveh then wants to change the subject again, but Alhaitham doesn't give up and asks about Kaveh's project again ("Where were you when Sumeru needed you most?").
Then they bicker again (4) and Kaveh leaves to ask around.
Huh, that was heated...
Lets do a little bit of unpacking.
So, Kaveh wanted to know more about the Academia and Alhaitham was constantly changing the subject. It can be read as Alhaitham mocking Kaveh just for the sake of it, but if we pay a little more attention to what Alhaitham is saying every time he interrupts Kaveh, it becomes more interesting.
1) "Oh? I thought you would already knew the inside story."
2) "Forget what's going on with the Academia, haven't you been busy with your construction project?"
3) "Where were you when Sumeru needed you most?"
Each time Alhaitham changes the subject, he talks about Kaveh being away for the time of the quest. Let's remember the golden rule of miscommunication conflicts: to understand what actually bothers your opponent you need to spot a repetitive theme in their words. And Alhaitham has a pretty clear pattern. Interesting.
But let's move on to the next dialog.
3. Second aka "second on-screen" aka "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" dialog
Kaveh returns after asking around and confronts Alhaitham about it ("WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?") (just a funny line). After some bickering (5) Alhaitham agrees to finally tell him what happened. He mentions that Kshahrewar sage was a part of conspiracy as well on which Kaveh reacts surprised and says "...could this be why they sent me out on a project?". However Alhaitham replies that it's just a coincidence and proceeds to suddenly go hard on Kaveh again, saying "whatever you were doing won't have any significant impact now or in times to come" (auch, Alhaitham, auch). Then they bicker again (6) and the dialog ends.
This interaction is more relevant to the "Kaveh plot relevance" section, but the important things for now are:
Kaveh: "...could this be why they sent me out on a project?"
Alhaitham: "I think its just a coincidence ... whatever you were doing won't have any significant impact now or in times to come."
And why is it important?
I find the flow of this whole conversation to be very weird, since it goes "confrontation - agreement - information share - speculation - confrontation". In other words, first Alhaitham doesn't want to talk, but Kaveh persuades him, learns about the sage, brings up his mission in the desert, and Alhaitham returns to the confrontation mode again.
It can be interpreted as Alhaitham just using every opportunity to disagree with Kaveh just cause, but at the same time his words sours exactly after Kaveh talks about him being missing from the quest. Coincidence? I don't think so.
All these little things got me thinking. Why is Kaveh's absence so triggering for Alhaitham? Sure they're close or whatever, but they both value their freedom very highly and it's probably not too rare for them to disappear for a day or two for work. Why is it such a big deal now?
But then I also remembered that Kaveh, basically the only family Alhaitham has (yes I call people you willingly live with a family, its my life experience), went missing from home exactly when the fishy stuff at the Academia started resurfacing. And he was gone for a long time, at least for the duration of the quest, which is about two in game weeks.
Even if Alhaitham is not a very emotional person, he still values family, home, routine and comfort very highly. So, in theory, the sudden empty house should have affected him in some way, right? That's how I decided to check Alhaitham's behaviour during the archon quest and it was.. interesting.
4. Alhaitham's side of the Sumeru quest, with me fillng in the gaps.
Let's think about all these quest days from his perspective.
You're simple logical guy who already for quite some time lives with an annoying but kind of endearing roommate, who you drink coffee with in the morning and often discuss intellectual or not really stuff. Sometimes you argue but he's perspective on life fascinates you as a scholar, so you don't mind it too much. Ultimately you're just used to him in your life.
Then one day you go to your work, which brings you just enough money to feel completely comfortable, but you start feeling that something fishy is going on behind the scenes. Some sages disappear, your archon is treated like a power source and there are weird rumours about the divine knowledge capsules. Then you get a sudden assignment - investigate a blond traveller with a talking fairy. And sages propose to pay you with the divine knowledge capsule.
Suspicious. If it's such a big deal, why would they promise you it as a present for a simple spy work?
You decide to get to the bottom of this and for this you need to buy the capsule yourself. You're sure that the infamous merchant Dori has some, but you're definitely in the black list as the Academia's scribe... Ah, how lucky is it. Your roommate just so happen to have a strong connection to Dori. If you give him money and an excuse why he needs the capsule so much she would definitely sell it to him. It settled then.
You come home. But you're roommate isn't there. You wait. He doesn't come back. You're confused and decide to check using you're connections at the Academia, and... he suddenly was requested to the desert? And just left? Why would he leave exactly when everything was going to get weird? Did he know something? Did Academia want to temporarily move him out of the picture? Maybe they did something worse than that? Was it all a coincidence?
You don't know and you have no time. You need to spy on Traveller. You need to buy a capsule. It seems that you're alone in it.
Dori didn't sell you a capsule. That wasn't unexpected but still worth the try. You decide to make the mysterious traveller to buy it for you. It went great. You find out more about capsules, you steal one yourself. You realise that the divine knowledge offered by the sages was a trap to dispose of you. Your roommate still didn't come back. It's been what, almost a week? Whatever. It's nice and quiet at your home.
You meet Traveller again on your way to the desert to investigate the source of the capsules. You run into Cyno and a bunch of other people and you seem to finally get the lead to answers that you wanted. You find out that the capsules were extracted from the brains of scholars who were send to the desert by the Academia and then abducted. You're roommate was also sent to the desert by the Academia. Uh. He's fine. You have your problems to deal with.
You and your unexpected but quite pleasant team find out that sages want to create a God. It seems it's time to rescue your archon. You came up with a pretty good plan. Noe you need to return to the city after these couple of days in the desert. When you come home, your roommate still isn't there.
The next day your team is preparing for the plan and Cyno says that you all need to go home and have a good rest.
"...Thankfully I had my place to myself recently. It's been nice and quiet."
"...Huh?"
Dehya stares at you confused.
You didn't realise that you said it out loud and you're not sure how other people deal with situations when they say something without thinking.
"Oh, nothing"
You went home and slept alright.
The plan worked, Nahida was saved, sages punished, akasha destroyed, your comfortable routine is safe again. It's still nice and quite at home, so you go to the library to read some books.
"Alhaitham, what happened in the Academia?!"
You hear a familiar voice. After all this time he returns like nothing happened.
5. And this was a recap of Alhaitham's side of the archon quest!
Interpretations can vary of course, but the way I see it, Alhaitham was very bothered by Kaveh's sudden disappearance. He clearly expresses that he wishes Kaveh was in the team during the quest ("Where were you when Sumeru needed you most?"). From this we can guess that Kaveh really left without any warning and had Alhaitham known about it, he would most likely stopped him.
I think Alhaitham quickly found out where Kaveh was (connections) but he had no means of contacting him quickly and maybe didn't even know the exact location. At first it was a minor inconvenience because of the Dori situation, but he probably wasn't bothered to much by it. But after he found out that sages actively tried to dispose of him by making him insane, he probably realised that the situation was way worse that he initially thought. And Kaveh still was somewhere in the desert with no means to contact him.
So what Alhaitham does next? He goes to the desert. Yes, it was for the plot reasons, but let's agree, he at least considered a possibility that he could run into Kaveh there. But he never did. And what's more, he found out that the Academia was abducting scholars and sucking their brains out. Let's be real, the theory that Kaveh was send to the desert for the reasons connected to knowledge capsules, most likely was on Alhaitham's mind, and in a bad universe it could've been correct.
Well, Kaveh did return home after all. But by that point Alhaitham's supressed stress about this whole situation was so great, that it resulted in him being genuinely salty at Kaveh during their first on-screen dialog and even saying "Well, maybe then you should move out of my house" - which, at least from my point of view, is way worse then his usual teasing about Kaveh being broke and homeless or whatever.
6. About Kaveh's role in the archon quest besides making Alhaitham sad
Ag, that's a very fun topic. I don't know how I totally missed it the first time, maybe it was the lack of respect for Kaveh, idk, but he was 100% purposefully sent away for the time of the quest.
Sages wanted to move him out of the picture just like they wanted to do with Alhaitham using knowledge capsule. Except they knew that Kaveh would not be too interested in the capsules. So they needed something else to remove him... Like a sudden very urgent request to build a children's hospital somewhere very deep in the desert for people who are literally dying without it! Huh, well, I just made it up, but I believe that sages came up with something very similar.
Kaveh is the type of person to jump straight into any charity he sees and ask next to none questions about it, so it would be the easiest way to send him away for good. Plus I believe that it could've been the reason why he didn't talk with Alhaitham about it and disappeared so sudden. Children are dying! No time for talking! But then he arrived to the said place in the desert and it was just a mess. Maybe a fake project, maybe literally nothing, maybe a trap. In other words - not the project he was told he is needed for.
It's something that we don't get spelled out for us (Alhaitham even denies it cause he's angry at that moment), but timings are just too perfect to be a coincidence. And that's not the only proof - Kaveh himself heavily implies that there was something very fishy about this mission.
He straight up avoids answering Alhaitham's questions about it, and says "Thinking about it makes me angry". Why would he say this about the Academia project? It's not like he had a specific annoying client. Kaveh was sent as a representative from the Academia to be the head of some "construction project" after all, he presumably was the boss there. So it can only mean that there was something wrong with the project itself.
Plus immediately after he finds out that his sage was a part of the conspiracy, he says "So that's why they sent me there", which further implies that whatever was happening on that mission in desert – it was either absurd (if the sages just wanted to keep Kaveh away for some time) or very dangerous (if they wanted him dead). Unfortunately Kaveh's the last person who would tell us about the danger to his life, so we can forget about learning what the hell was that mysterious mission.
Ah, and about why would sages want Kaveh away. Sure it can be because of his connections to Alhaitham, but…
I think anyone who knows Kaveh more then 10 minutes would know that if he found out what sages are planning to do with a literal child and what they do to other scholars, he would die but not let them continue all of it. And he is quite popular among students and citizens alike, so he could've been a potential threat for the sages.
Makes me wonder how many other potential dangers did sages eliminate in some way for their plan. Probably not too many, but still interesting behind the scenes of their actions.
AND NOW, AFTER ALL THIS THINKING, I FINNALY, FINALLY, WAS ABLE TO UNDERSTAND ALHAITHAM'S FINAL LINES IN THE ARCHON QUEST.
Let's return to the end of the act 5. After we had a feast at the Grand Bazar, we were able to one last time talk to each member of our Sumeru-rescue team.
Alhaitham said this:
Which was always bothering me, because:
One: He suddenly becomes quite sentimental and talks about happiness, which is cool to see, but at the same time... He very rarely talks about subjective emotions. And what's more, he seems genuinely enjoying the thought of it. He isn't really the kind of person who gets his sense of satisfaction out of someone else's happiness (it's one of the things he parallels Kaveh in), so what's this all about?
Two: He extremely abruptly switches the topic to point out that he "seems to have taken both keys when he left the house" (tbh I thought that I accidentally clicked on him the second time and it's the new dialog, but no, it is all specifically a one long dialog).
Well well well. What do we have here.
When I first read these lines I decided that's it's just a weird writing without normal conversation flow. First Alhaitham is satisfied that he's plan worked and his daily life is safe, but says it through pointing out that other people are happy rather then explicitly stating that he's happy. Then he yaoi baiting us with "haha, harassing Kaveh is so much fun" and that's all there is to it.
But.
Now that we know more about Alhaitham's daily life during the archon quest, let's think about the keys some more.
He was able to take both keys because Kaveh was at home and his keys were there either. On his way out to meet us, Alhaitham saw Kaveh's keys on their usual place and took them as well, ultimately making Kaveh unable to leave the house. Which also means...
Kaveh will definitely be at home when Alhaitham returns after the feast.
So if we flip everything based on this logic, Alhaitham tells us: "This is a great evening. This gathering is special. People are finally happy. They feel happiness from the bottom of their hearts. And when I return home there will be someone waiting for".
Which is. So. PRECIOUS!.. Something clicked in my brain when I first realized this meaning and these lines are finally making a lot of sense!
It's the perfect final words for his little character journey in this quest. He protected the life he had and loved, everything and everyone were back to normal again and for him it is a true happiness felt from the bottom of his heart. Just precious.
Final words
Anyway, yes, that's why I believe that during the archon quest Alhaitham was actually constantly worrying about Kaveh at the back of his mind and maybe even feeling lonely, which resulted in his great boom of toxicity during their first on-screen dialog, but after some time he cooled down and slipped into his usual happy comfortable and not "nice and quiet" life again.
And fuck the sages for sending away our boy Kaveh (who actually knows a lot about desert since he works there often) and making our rescue-Nahida-group one competent person shorter.
Thanks for your time and tears, you, the person who read this!

I'm not quite sure what to make of this. Maybe I'll do a slow burn, or not. But I wrote 2 chapters so far...
Still not sure what to title it...
Chapter 1: A Sour Start
Warnings: None, Turbo is Envious lol
Word count: 1,012 words
Chapter Prompt: Filled with jealousy, Turbo did something horrific
Turbo x Reader | Chapter 2
The arcade closes once more. Leaving the games behind with only but a gust of wind as Mr. Litwak locked the door. Characters from various games has already clocked out from their own games. Flocking to the Game Central Station to meet with other various characters alien from their own.
A few would just take a rest in their own game, be it a good nap after a long day, or a good time to do a hobby. Today, like a few others, Turbo chose to stay in his own game.
Leaning on his kart, a sour look could be seen on his face. His colleagues approach him, smiling from ear to ear.
"Hey Turbo! Let's go to tappers yeah?" Set asked.
"No, I'd rather stay and train. Need to keep my skills sharp." Turbo spoke, his mind somewhere else.
"Well if you say so..." Jet replied before the both of them walked out. "What's up with him? He never refuses to go to Tappers..." Turbo heard one of them whisper before they went out of earshot.
Exhaling a sigh, he looked up, seeing 'Road Blasters' placed right in front of his game. Grumbling, he went in his kart, shutting the door roughly once he's inside.
Turbo wasn't this sour before. No, he was arrogant at most. Not exactly the best character you'd meet, but still popular nonetheless. He loved attention, moreso than winning. If he won and didn't get praise, it would have been less appealing to him.
In a way, he tries to compensate his bad looks with skill. Driving as fast as he could to impress anyone watching. Doing everything to get applause. He wasn't exactly the most appealing character. The picture that's supposed to be him could even be said as much more appealing, and he knows this. He's aware on that part, although he exudes absolute confidence, a tint of insecurity could still be traced once you look close enough.
Now that even his skill couldn't win the crowd over. He's starting to feel a bit desperate.
Turbo usually would talk about himself and how he's the best of the best in racing when someone would interact with him. His skill was unmatched and everyone could agree. Knowing this, he was quite the obnoxious character, gloating and showing off. It was annoying, but was considered normal by then. Now though, instead of a smile, he wore a sour look. Furious and envious he would glance at the new game with utter disgust. A lot would only see the surface. Seeing his face redden slightly once someone would mention the new games arrival and how it's already booming in business. He'd try to counter this, by simply saying that his game was the first to even boom this big. Trying his best to keep it clear that he is still important, all the while as his chest would be struck sharply with a deeply rooted pain fully knowing that sooner or later he'd fall behind the leaderboard.
On the occasion though, once he's alone he'd let the painful feeling pass. Not with a smile, nor a sour face, but with a hopeless and sorrowful look when observed from an outside perspective.
"I'm not a sore looser..." He would whisper silently, as he tried to make peace with his emotions, his chest still filled with pain.
Today is one of those days. Envious and at the same time furious, he started to drive his kart. His mind churning fast once the engine started.
The situation was so ridiculous to him, how could someone even fathom to think that they could just replace him like that. He's the greatest racer ever. The best of the best. At least he thought so.
Speeding up, he grinded his teeth, his breath picking up pace as well. Driving as fast as he could just to feel adrenaline rush through his code as he tried to forget everything that's gone bad for the past few weeks. Pushing the engine to go faster, he swiftly turned the wheel making a sharp turn.
"Can Road Blasters do that?" He spoke to himself. He bet they couldn't. This game may be simple and not as shiny as the new ones, but it's an undeniable classic. And who wouldn't want that?
Driving fast, he continued to drive and drive. It was all he could do for now at least. Drinking at Tappers helps sometimes, but this helps him differently.
For the past hour he spent it on driving his kart around, and around the track. It seemed the adrenaline rush couldn't stop his mind from wondering about current events. Thinking about it, his peace of mind gradually diminished as he grew more, and more desperate to find a solution to his problem.
_________________________________________
The very next day, a devious smile could be seen plastered on Turbo's face. When asked, he would simply reply with, "I don't know... Today just feels different."
A strange reply, but somewhat gave the impression that he doesn't seem to care about Road Blasters anymore... But oh, they were wrong, so, so wrong.
Early during the day, two kids approached Turbo Time, both holding a quarter on their hands. But upon seeing Road Blasters, they were quickly enamoured, their minds made up on playing this game instead of Turbo Time.
___
Quickly speeding through, everyone was caught off guard as Turbo drove out of his game. Speeding up, he avoided obstacles here and there before finally proceeding to Road Blasters.
He knew what he was doing, but he didn't expect things to go so wrong. As his arrogant behavior got the best of him, he drove right into the first perspective driver, breaking something in the game to make it glitch.
Stuck in place, he felt his own body retract from existence. As everything on screen started to break apart, the game continues to play a glitchy tune.
"Mr. Litwak!" One of the boys called out.
"Oh Turbo...what have you done..." His co-workers whisper in unison as they both watched through the screen of their own game.

Chapter Four: Looking Glasses
My glasses weren't ready for my Wednesday appointment, but they were done the Friday after my second week of school. So, I took a cab to the optometrist's and then the pizza parlor, where I ran into Tim. He was with his friends, so I thought he wouldn't notice me. "One meat lover's pizza with thin garlic butter crust," I ordered. I waited in the corner, drinking out of the two-liter soda I bought to drown my misery. I had a crappy week at school and didn't want to speak to talk to anyone. The smell of pizza usually left me in a better mood. Besides, I liked being away from the house and the family. I ate the fries they gave me for dining in and watched people standing at the street corner.
"Order for Christopher!" the man at the counter called. I finished my fries, threw the two-liter in my bag, and grabbed my crutches. When I got to the counter, I realized I couldn't carry my pizza and use my crutches. Tim got up and offered to help. I was mortified. I hid my name and everything to avoid speaking to him, only to need his help.
"Here, listen, my driver's on his way. He can drop you off if you want, and I'll help you to your-."
"I don't wanna be any trouble," I interrupted. I said it harshly without meaning to, but I don't think Tim cared. He'd been following me around campus all day, and we just so happened to meet at the pizza place. It would've felt like he was stalking me had he not gotten there first. "I should've thought-."
"No, it's okay. It's really no trouble. I insist," Tim replied.
There was no polite way to turn him down, and his driver just pulled up out front. "I'll split this pie with you if you don't take me home."
Tim grinned a half-smile. "Alright. Come on, I've got your pizza," Tim reassured me. He carried my pizza to the car, and I followed him out.
Once we got in the car, I asked the question I'd had since the first day of school. "Are you watching me? At school, I mean?" I asked.
"I've been-. I'm curious. People talk, and-. Well, you never let anybody close enough to learn anything about you," Tim replied. I knit my brows with great effort.
"What do you wanna know, Tim?" I asked.
"Jason, what kind of accident was it?" Tim questioned.
"Explosion... Gas leak explosion. I don't like to talk about it," I lied. Honestly, I was dying to talk about it. I was sick of holding it all inside myself, but I couldn't afford to let anyone in my head. Especially not some freshman I'd known for less than a week. Tim gave me my pizza box and the okay to eat in the car. I set the box between us and draped an open napkin over my lap. I let Tim eat, but he wasn't hungry. I ate in silence.
It'd been a while since I'd had pizza. I think it was my birthday the last time. I was in the hospital then. Bruce wanted to cheer me up, but all I could think about was my-. I could only think about Sheila. I tried to take the brunt of the blast, but I wasn't big enough. She impaled her skull on a rock anyway. So, I lay trapped between the debris and her lifeless body for what felt like forever. I relived that moment constantly. Lately, I only think about it when I feel trapped. "Jason?" Tim whispered as he touched my arm. It shook me out of a trance. "You alright? You were gone for a while... We're at my house now."
"Oh, we're here?" I mumbled as if I'd been asleep. I slipped my backpack on, and Tim helped me carry my pizza box inside. His house was mostly empty, save for a maid or nanny working on the premises. He set the box on the coffee table and turned the tv on.
I took my homework out of my bag and sat it upright on the floor. "You're gonna do your homework?" Tim asked. I nodded and put on my glasses.
"Yeah, that's what I typically do when I get a minute to sit down," I half-joked. Tim shrugged and flipped through the channels.
"Would it be distracting if I asked you a few questions?" Tim asked. I shook my head. "Jason, when you were thirteen, you went on a short trip to Hollywood over the spring break, right?" The question was weird, but I nodded.
"Yeah, I was visiting a friend. He invited me out to see the movie his Aunt worked on," I answered. That was a half-truth.
"Did you get to see Robin while you were there?" Tim asked.
I laughed it off. "Robin lived in Gotham... But no one's seen much of him lately," I replied. Tim nodded seriously and turned toward the tv.
"He was in Los Angeles that week," Tim replied, "Weird coincidence, huh?"
"What are you getting at, Tim?" I asked.
"Nothing, I'm just a big fan of Robin. I always ask," Tim whispered. I took a deep breath. "I'm coming on too strong, huh?
"A little," I replied as I opened my history book and filled out my worksheet. It took me an hour to finish my homework before I asked Tim to call me a cab.
Tim seemed sad at first, but he called the cab anyway. When the cab got there, he lingered out front with me. "Hey, um-."
"Thanks for everything, Tim. Can we do this again?" I asked. Tim grinned. I didn't want to admit it, but it was the first time I'd felt normal since the accident. I didn't want to let that feeling go. I opened the door and waved at Tim before heading home.
As soon as I got home, Bruce came out of the manor fuming. He waited until I reached the front door to start in on me. "Where the hell have you been?" Bruce asked, whispering through clenched teeth.
"I got my glasses, ate, and did my homework... How are you?" I asked.
"I was worried-. Did you ask me how I was?" Bruce questioned. I nodded. I never asked him how he was. I think my sincerity shocked him. I offered an awkward smile. "I'm alright... How are you?"
"I'm good... I think-. Yeah, I'm good," I smiled. Bruce let me in, and I took the stairlift without argument. I didn't even have to argue with him. I chose peace and peace felt... Kinda nice.
