Hi! Tips on how to not say much? I’m a huge chatter box and find myself over explaining with no remorse. I can’t stand the quiet due to the environment I grew up in, the person was a narcissist that forced me to continuously speak around them because they’re extroverted and hate the quiet.

Hello!

I would say get used to listening to people. I think you need to heal your relationship with silence and the way to ease into this would be to start listening to people. Something you could try would be go out for breakfast alone but tune into conversations that are happening around you. You won't be able to get involved into the conversation given that you are not part of their party so you will be forced to be silent. I think this way you can get used to listening to conversations and nout putting in your own input.

You should take mental or physical notes on when you feel like you need to overexplain yourself. I have trouble with sometimes oversharing and well, I am really harsh with myself so my approach would not be helpful to you at all lol. After you have a list, you can try and see if you perfer to avoid those certain conversations.

late evening life ramble:

one more week until adulthood truly begins for me. i’m going to be honest here and i might be oversharing, but i’m scared.

i mean this is completely new territory moving to a new city, new culture, & new lifestyle. i’m scared to begin this full-time job traveling to and from on public transportation, being by myself for most of this time. it’s a bit overwhelming to think about as the clock begins to tick.

i’ve been dealing with my emotions and wanting to be away from the hurt and pain that i feel being here. processing that i’m doing something good for myself has been a bit hard because everything for majority of my life has been for other people and for their validation… i kind of feel like i’m breaking a curse, yeah?

it’ll all work out soon. i’m optimistic. these worries and anxieties will pass me by.

I actually tend to stick with canon fics. I do enjoy some good AU fic from time to time, but I usually cherry-pick them, while I read pretty much anything within canon. As for a specific part to explore... there's so much that we still don't know that I can't choose. But if we narrow it down to Elain and Azriel, I'd say maybe their powers? We still don't know exactly how either her visions or his shadows work and I think it'd be interesting to know more about that.

My favorite thing about Elain is probably her quiet strength. She's often underrated and regarded as boring because she's not as "loud" as her sisters are, but I love quiet, introverted people as one myself (until you get to know me and then I overshare lol). Elain's not a talker, she's a listener and an observer, and we see that multiple times. She's not a fighter, but it doesn't mean she won't grow claws to protect those she loves. I always thought that if I were an acotar character, I'd be Elain. Maybe that's also why I like her so much and I can't wait for her book to see what happens inside her head.

And about Azriel... where do I even start? If I had to choose, I'd probably say his kindness and thoughtfulness. It's not something I take for granted, especially considering how he spent the first few years of his life and how he was treated. Yet he makes sure not to appear threatening in front of the priestesses, he gets his friends meaningful gifts, and he makes time to teach Feyre how to fly and later on to train the priestesses (when we know he's a workaholic and there's a war going on in both stances). And I love his humor lol.

I do have a few myths, actually. Sticking to Greek mythology, I think there are many similarities between Feyre and Tamlin's story and Eros and Psyche. Oh and I can see some parallels between Ares, Aphrodite, Hephaestus and Azriel, Elain, Lucien. Also, the Valkyries. I believe they're going to play a bigger role in the next books because they were really important in Norse mythology. (If I were a theorist, I would probably also come up with something about Elain and the cursed prophet Cassandra bc I thought about it a couple times, but I don't really engage in theories)

It's winter holidays for me. Also because Halloween is not really a big holiday here in Italy. It became more popular in the last few years under American influence, but I never once dressed up, went trick or treating, or even went to a theme party. Last year I simply watched Nightmare Before Christmas lol. But Christmas is my favorite holiday and time of the year in general because I love the music, the decorations, the atmosphere, the snow (though it hasn't snowed enough to make even just a single snowball in years).

i’m pretty sure ive been in a hypomanic episode for a Minute now, and i wasnt sure before bc i don’t think ive ever had hypomania before only mania? i think my new medications are working for once in my whole life bc for the past like. six months maybe? ive been So Normal and in the past few weeks i’ve definitely been on the up and up but it hasnt crossed into full mania, it’s literally just like. me but with energy and a little stupider than usual. and i understand how this can be disabling for some people, but considering that mania (for me) usually looks like weeks of deep psychosis, this shit is EXCELLENT. like yes im more reckless and hypersexual and wanting to spend all kinds of money and all that, but i also feel like im able t “moderate” that a little better because i had so many years of seemingly medication-proof manic episodes? i had to like, adapt lol. so i have some systems set in place to keep me from being too stupid especially with money. but like, i have all the energy of a manic episode and all the drive to Do Things with none of the “hearing the voice of god” or “im someone else and i stole this body and now am stuck in it”. like this shit rocks, i’ve gotten so much done! and i understand that there will be a comedown and it will suck or whatever but while im here?? like again i understand why this isnt a Good state of mind and i dont mean to invalidate anyone’s experience, but i think im just like. well if my mood disorder is going to disorder my moods regardless of what pills i take, i would much prefer it to sort of lessen the extent !! hypomania! and the only time i was on meds that worked 100% and got rid of any episodes entirely i got bored (lol) and got off of them (guy w the “stop taking my meds disorder”: hey what if i stopped taking my meds) so i think this is a good middle ground bc it’s like, life is still fun and exciting and doesnt feel static, but i also dont think im in danger of getting myself locked up lol or like, humiliating myself online or something (tumblr doesnt count bc it’s Faceless)

also probably the best time ever for this to happen bc im getting rejection letter after rejection letter from phd programs i applied to and im literally like “well it will all work out, like everything works out in the end one way or another” :) and i believe that! not necessarily that everything happens for a reason, but everything works out in the end one way or another
