Yeosang has this kind of duality. When you just met him, his shy and also a bit awkward, meeting new people it's not his forte nor it's to demonstrate his feelings or thoughts. So it might be hard to get to know him at first, but time will work its magic and oh my goodness, wasn't it worth it, because when he's comfortable he truly shines. Ever since I got your message three days ago (sorry for taking so long to answer), I couldn't get this out of my head. This is actually a pretty nice idea, so I just spent hours last night taking the same test over and over again, each time, with one specific character in mind.

- Your nicer and more helpful personality would balance out Han's more standoffish vibes when first meeting. You might get on his nerves a bit first, but you'd quickly grown on him and, in turn, make him a bit of a better person. Your ability to be blunt and a bit harsh would serve you well if you ever needed to stand your ground on an issue that two of you have, as he can be quite stubborn.

VLD: Lance!

- Lance can be a bit immature from time to time as well, especially when it comes to trying to be funny or cheering up those around him-he's also headstrong and typically firm in what he wants to do, so your own determined personality would attract him to you a lot as well. He often puts off things he needs to do if they make him anxious too, but if you both recognize that you share that problem, helping each other might be a good solution!

Disney: Flynn!

- Flynn is quite a sarcastic and teasing person, so your own humor would match well with his. I spent way too much time on this but here we go! (am willing to do other idols as well)

K has such a strong personality. To me its a beautiful thing. I think he is passionate, kind, hard working, and exudes natural confidence that I find very magnetic. However, I can see how some people may misunderstand that. So, in response to some “fans” who seem to not understand this beautiful creature for all his complexity and nuances, and armed with the information available on his profile, have researched and put together a breakdown of the facets of his personality.

Zodiac: Ox (1997)

Much like the image of an Ox, people born in this year tend to be persistent, honest, and straightforward. They are “talent leaders with strong faith, and strong devotion to work. They are contemplative before taking actions, not easily affected by the surroundings but just follow their concept and ability.” (travelchinaguide.com)

This is most likely where K gets the image of being arrogant or  stubborn. While this might be the undercurrent, I think the other facets of his personality are more often highlighted. Mind you Jungkook, Jaehyun, Cha Eunwoo, Mingyu, and Yugyeom are all Ox’s as well. These people hardly strike me as arrogant now, though I can see their stubborness and devotion (all positive ways). 

Blood Type: A

K, according to his profile, is blood type A which is often described as sensitive, passionate, clever, loyal, calm, consistent, and perfectionist. However type A’s can also be stubborn and overly sensitive. Generally, type A’s are stoic, majestic  and confident, three qualities that can often be misinterpreted as intimidating or rude when in actuality they are very sensitive and caring as well.

Their primary function is extroverted intuition which means they pull meaning and draw connections out of the social world (relationships and interactions). They then use those meanings to better understand people, their motivations, and their true intentions(Fi). ENFx’s highly value genuine and honest people who don’t have ulterior motives or forced personas. They are very open and honest and expect the same returned to them. 

Also, ENFP’s are very creative, independent people who struggle to work within rigid structures and hierarchies. They hate being micromanaged and would prefer to have the time and space to do the work. Too much micromanagement can cause stress in an ENFP which often leads them to neglect their personal health and happiness. They tend to give more than others are able to reciprocate. 

But above all, ENFPs are kind. They “are very emotional and sensitive, and when they step on someones toes, they both feel it.” (16 personalities). They love open communication and want to listen as well. They really believe that everyone should take the time to recognize and express their emotions. 

Age Hierarchy in Japan vs Korea:

(I am not Korean or Japanese so I looked up scholarly articles to help me with this section. But, for context, I have been to both countries) 

In broad terms, Korea and Japan both have a system of age hierarchy that stems from Confucianism. The general idea is that older people, or people in positions of power, are to be highly respected by the younger generation or my subordinates. However, Japan and Korea have different interpretations of this ideal. 

The Japanese version is focused on “Senpai-Kohai” (student teacher) relationship. This is expressed in many contexts even outside of school. The idea is that the older generation is responsible for teaching the younger generation manners and skills. The Younger generation is expected to listen and learn all the lessons of their teacher or mentor. These roles aren’t always associated with age however. In fact, in recent years, the younger generations, especially in work places, have somewhat turned their backs on the idea that an older colleague is deserving of more honor simply because of their age. In some instances, Kohais will fake their respect for their senpais. Many companies have been forced to abandon this ideal all together, promoting and giving raises to workers who are more skilled rather than workers who are older, thus abandoning age in their hierarchy of honor. 

In Korea, however, the ideals of an age hierarchy are intenched much deeper in the culture. The age hierarchy is encouraged by confucianism but enforced by language and military culture. The korean language is organized around the idea of informal and formal speech in reference to someones age. One of the first questions asked in a conversation with a new person is “what is your age?” This established the social context and solidifies they type of speech a person must use. Older people must be spoken to with formal speech unless they give express permission otherwise. This is also enforced by military culture and the concepts of hoobae (subordinate) and sunbae (older/more experienced person). These roles have specific social expectations attached to them and carry significant weight.

Physical Appearance

K is physically intimidating, no denying that. He’s tall, athletically built, outwardly confident, and mature. He shows his emotions plainly on his face and takes up a lot of space with his body and energy. His presence is felt regardless of where he is in a room. 

How it all works together

K is a wonderful person, but he has many aspects about his personality, culture, and appearance that can be misinterpreted as intimidating. Again, not only is he physically dominate in the space, his libra-scorpio cusp trait also make him ooze enigmatic appeal,  and his ENFP fills him with passion and drive. He dislikes hierarchy yet must work within a very hierarchical system and culture. He is the oldest among people much younger than him. He’s attempting to use his NeFi personality to create open bonds with many people who are afraid to share their feelings with him. He doesn’t speak enough Korean to fully express his emotions despite that being a fundamental part of his personality. 

K is enigmatic and mysterious with a combination of traits that are easily misunderstood. Every person, regardless of their personality, can grow and work through weaknesses, but, please be kind to them on their journey. We are all humans who must grow and learn as we develop and we can only hope that grace is granted to us as well. So give K grace as he learns to adapt to his surrounding, just as we gave grace to Heeseung, Jay, Niki, and all the others.

Lesson One: The Wheel of the Zodiac

So what is the zodiac?

Technically they're just constellations chilling around up there. Really. In astrology they're used like spices, think of the sign as the flavor of what's going on in the house. There's spicy aries, which is like a cajun blend. There's scorpio with a hint of licorice. And Libra with a balanced citrus sort of flavor. What? I know.

The Elements

So there is balance here. Four elements, earth, air, water, and fire. They interact with each other in different ways. So when you guys are shipping cancers and capricorns together, that's because they're complementary signs. They sit across from each other at the table. Taurus natives and cancers still get along, but scorpio is better. This is because taurus and scorpio are also sitting across from each other at the table. Generally speaking, earth and water signs are comfortable with each other. That's what we can grasp from this. So following this train of complimentary logic, Gemini and Sagittarius are a nice pair, because fire and air go together naturally. But you may wonder, why is it like this? Why is the Libra/Leo ship not setting sail? This is because we can divide it up even further. Within an elemental grouping, each sign still differs from each other. We divide that up into Cardinal, Mutable, and Fixed. So the divisions go like this:

Cardinal: Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn.

Fixed: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius.

Mutable: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces.

So basically if you stay in these groups with complimentary elements, it's all good. The signs in the elements also get along. Cardinal signs are enterprising, and ambitious. Fixed signs are stable, and strategic. And mutable signs are flexible and changing.

Earth signs like Taurus, Capricorn, and Virgo all get along with each other.

Air signs like Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius all chill and chat together.

And Fire signs like Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius all party with each other.

What happens when you put together signs that don't get along? Well one usually puts too much pressure on the other. The reason water and earth work together is because water signs emotionally feed earth signs, and earth signs give structure to water signs.

You see earth signs tend to be pretty rigid and strategic.

And water signs are very flowy and emotional.

Have you ever heard the saying fanning the flames? Most definatly that's what's going on with the air and fire duos as well. So when aries and libra come together, the two are egging each other on.

Air signs are extremely cerebral and curious.

And fire signs are very creative and ambitious.

So if you put fire sign with a water, the water smothers the fire, and the fire is usually frustrating to the water. Fire and earth, well, wild fires.

In the following descriptions, I will not be speaking as though I'm talking about a person. This lesson is not about sun signs. The reason why is because learning how the zodiac behaves only through the sun's influence is not good practice. Sure an aries sun will act as you would expect from an aries sun, punchy, independant, and this is true. But how would a person act if their mars was in aries? The same? No. Not quite. Because planetary placements are not quite the same, or you might already have it figured out. Every sign has its ruler, and mars happens to be the ruler of aries, so the aries vibe will come through more prominently than the sun could show. My below description is designed so that you can get a sense for each sign in the zodiac, that way you can come to filter it like light through each planet.

Now let's look at each individual Zodiac Constellation...

Aries

Here we have a cardinal fire sign, so immediately we know there's an innovating, ambitious, creative. Since it's the first sign in the zodiac, a planet may indicate being first here, hence innovation. Aries is a trend setter, because he just simply doesn't care what you think. He's an independant kind, he likes to do things his own way, and at his own pace, because this pace is fast. This may also indicate an impatient nature. This is where people get the idea that aries is an aggressive sign. I dont think hes so much aggressive, as he's actually just very adamant. As far as vibes go, he's a very excited sign, no, he's amped! His ruler is Mars, the planet of action. So when it comes down to it, aries is a doer, he wants to put his ideas into action. The angst is real! Anyone with an aries placement will feel a need to take action in that part of their life, and if they cannot it will manifest as an anxiety. Though most of the time aries is strong and brave, he can take ‘em!

Taurus

This is a fixed earth sign. Taurus loves all things stable and reliable. She is much the opposite of aries, she is very patient, and always stops to smell the flowers. Taurus has a reputation of being lazy, but it's not the case, she just wants to be certain, so she takes slow steps toward progress. She is ruled by venus, the planet of love and art, so it is certain that Taurus has an appreciation for things coming from the heart, things which are beautiful. She also has a deep appreciation for nature. When a planet is in taurus there is often a richness in it. This planet will want stability, but also beauties. Taurus is a beautiful lady walking in nature, she is able to find the beauty in everything.

Gemini

This is a mutable air sign, Gemini is a wiz kid. Like all air signs they enjoy thought. They're your younger sibling who can kick butt at trivia. How do they know so much? Gemini by nature knows a little about a lot of different subjects. A jack of all trades! That is their nature, being mutable. Gemini is at the library hitting the books at the library right now! They've got five books going at once. They want to string together all the little facts to make a complete picture. There is something hectic with them though, they may be a little scattered at times, which makes them hard to follow. This is the archetype of a scattered mind. Gemini is ruled by the planet mercury, which is the planet of communication and thought. This sign adds an air of playful curiosity to whatever it influences.

Cancer

This is the archetype of a mother, she just wants to nurture and be nurtured. She is a soft girl, who doesn't want to hurt anyone. She is deeply empathetic, if not a little overly emotional. Really, she is emotion. She is ruled by the moon, planet of emotion. So you see how deep this runs. Cancer is a fixed water sign: she likes her security, and can be upset when that security is threatened. Like many other water signs, she is very intuitive and emotional. Having a placement in cancer will bring a sensitivity to that area of life, and can indicate something having to do with a mother. Planets embraced by this energy will take on an emotional, intuitive, or nurturing theme, depending on house, and planets involved.

Leo

This sign is the king of the zodiac, and he's got some great hair. Leo is the sign of congeniality, he is either really enjoyable, or really formidable. He is spirited in his expression, and passionate about his ideals. He is ruled by the sun, so a leo sun is easy to spot, as the sun is most forthcoming in this position. He is a fixed sign, and so looks for security in his creative endeavors, and his interaction with others. Leo, like other fire signs is competitive and active. Having a placement in Leo will emphasize the creativity of that area, as well as a desire to be noticed by others. He is the guy at all the parties with the great smile who can talk to just about anyone with ease.

Virgo

I don't know why, but virgo can be a tricky sign for a lot of people. Virgo is a very wise lady, but very humble. She doesn't want to make anyone feel bad for not knowing something, as she knows she once was there too. She is ruled by mercury, so this stimulates a cognitive function in the sign, however she is an earth sign, so still very grounded in her nature. This is counteracted into a balance, as she is a mutable sign, creating a sort of flexibility in her. Having a placement in virgo will give that area of life a strategic function, an organized, and orderly nature. Virgo is that girl at the library everyday with beautiful eyes who is researching anatomy, and poetry, simultaneously. You want to talk to her, but sometimes she can come off a little cold.

Libra

Libra is more or less the opposite of Gemini: Gemini takes two sides in the extreme, and Libra takes the two and blends them together. There is a distinct need for harmony and balance with libra. They are a cardinal air sign, which means they strive for innovative ideas. But more so they want to organize and orchestrate. Like other air signs, libra delights in conversation, as well as intellectual pursuits. They love to have friends with whom they can share their ideas, and especially be shared with. Libra is a gentle sign that is very good at listening, they want to bridge the gap between two ways of thought. Libra like taurus is ruled by venus, which gives them a deep appreciation for beauty, especially from a social standpoint. Libra is that sweet person everyone knows, who speaks with everyone all the time, but makes you feel special to be their friend.

Sagittarius

He is the ultimate bro, this guy is the best to be around. He is always upbeat, always optimistic, and always great to have conversations with. He is ruled by jupiter, a planet of expansion, which means the area touched by sagittarius’ energy will be one of growth. He is known for his long distance travels, and philosophical conversations. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, making him quite competitive, if not a little bit perfectionist. Like the other fire signs, he is very driven, and like other mutable signs, very flexible. Sagittarius is your favorite beat poet, traveling across the country, rolling with the punches. He loves to be active, and outside experiencing his life to the fullest. He is just in search of a good time.

Scorpio

Scorpio is a delicious and deep sign to have a placement in. Placements here will cause equal parts pain and enjoyment. This is the sign of secrets, of obsessions, of transformation and growth. She is a deep well with emotions buried within her. She is a fixed water sign ruled by Pluto, which is an explosive combination. Her fixed nature makes her secretive, and the fact that she is a water sign implies a great many emotions. Also intuition and matters of the occult. Pluto makes this a transformative sign, and these areas of life will have a transformative nature. Scorpio is the girl you see who never says anything, but the one time you spoke to her it changed everything. Scorpio by all means is a game changer.

Aquarius

People with strong aquarian energy are a lot of fun to be around. They're unique people who highly value their independence and freedom. They have strong ideals with which they are usually strongly attached to, but you can be certain that these ideals are unique and perfectly suited to them individually. They are deep thinkers as air signs, and you can be sure aquarius will come up with some new ideas. Aquarius wants to question things, and ultimately change the world. They can sometimes be slightly detached, and feel often like they're on the outside looking in on all the festivities. Aquarius is a fixed air sign, which is why they're solid in their ideals. And they are ruled by Uranus, the planet of innovation and progress. They have a strong urge to help others grow.

Capricorn

This is the archetype of the father. He is there to construct boundaries. He wants to form the native into a more solid and complete person. His energy at times can seem a little rigid, and constricting, but he is just doing this because there is something to be learned. He likely has a dry sense of humor and a very straight forward sort of essence. He is simplistic, and direct for an earth sign, capricorn is extremely practical. He is ruled by saturn, the teacher of lessons. He is a cardinal earth sign, which actually gives him more ambition as an earth sign. He is very traditional, and likely to want to build something solid from scratch. Capricorn is most definitely not afraid of hard work! Anywhere the energy of capricorn touches, it will be a practical field where the native may be very direct in their approach. Alternatively there may be something to learn.

Pisces

Pisces is a mirror. They are a little bit of all of the signs, and reflect whatever they are seeing. They are truly the most empathetic sign of the bunch because of this. They being a water sign, are very emotional and extremely intuitive. And you can see the mutable nature in their willingness to adapt to any situation. But the ruler of this sign is Neptune, the planet of imagination. So pisces is incredibly creative and imagination driven. This can lead them to have a sort of spacey outlook. There is a slight duality in them, as there is a pulling in two different directions. Pisces is the friend with sparkly eyes and big dreams. Anything that is touched by watery pisces might have an imaginative nature, or pull in its duality. It is all up to the native, and the area it is touching.

Ice is cool, calm, collected, logical, and abstract. It combines the calm, serenity, insight, adaptability, and wisdom of Water with the order, consistency, loyalty, and practicality of earth. They are creatures of cold, crystalline beauty – elegant and unapproachable. They are deep, mysterious, and inscrutable – yet they see the rest of the world with astounding clarity. They have a big-picture view of life and tend to be meticulous planners. Ice is also generally a very good judge of character, so long as Ice does not give in to pessimism or cynicism. That is one of Ice’s great internal struggles – the conflict between an intense inner idealism and pessimism about how corrupt the world is.

 Ice is exceptionally perfectionistic. Ice is also known for its subtly determined nature. Instead of trying to break through barriers, Ice finds another way. When the barrier is weak or if Ice finds just the right angle, it breaks through with the force of a massive iceberg. It often views society as a whole as being cruel, stupid, chaotic, or threatening. 

Ice is very structured, orderly, rational, and logical. They are punctual, organized, detail-oriented, planned, and are excellent at either creating or running vast, complicated systems – whether for business, politics and other practical concerns or for philosophy, religion, science, or other more abstract pursuits. Jesus said to his disciples: ‘You have learnt how it was said: You must love your neighbour and hate your enemy. But I say this to you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you; in this way you will be sons of your Father in heaven, for he causes his sun to rise on bad men as well as good, and his rain to fall on honest and dishonest men alike. For if you love those who love you, what right have you to claim any credit? Even the tax collectors do as much, do they not? And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional? Even the pagans do as much, do they not? You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect.’

(i) Saturday, First Week of Lent

The call of Jesus at the end of today’s gospel reading sounds very daunting, ‘You must therefore be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect’. We are all very much aware that we are a long way from being perfect. Even the word ‘perfect’ can be off-putting for us. When we speak of someone as a perfectionist we are not always paying them a compliment. We think of perfectionists as overly demanding and somewhat intolerant of human weakness. However, when we read back over the whole of today’s gospel reading, we can see that when Jesus calls us to be as perfect as God, he is calling on us to be as loving as God is loving. He is talking about the perfection of love. Jesus declares that God loves the good and the not so good equally, just as the sun shines and the rain falls on both alike. God’s love does not discriminate. There is no less or more when it comes to God’s love. As Saint John says in his first letter, God is Love. To say God’s love is perfect is to say that what we do or fail to do has no impact on the quality of God’s love for us. God loved the people who crucified Jesus as much as the martyrs who were killed for bearing witness to Jesus. God’s love does not change, cannot change. What changes is our capacity to receive God’s love and to allow ourselves to be transformed by it, so that something of God’s perfect love takes flesh in our own lives. We will never be as loving as God is loving in this life, loving others without any regard to how they relate to us. Some few people come very close to loving in such a divine way. When such people come to our attention, we stand amazed by them. Yet, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can all, at least, keep growing towards that quality of love which is of God. That is the goal of our lives as followers of Jesus. That goal is very beautifully expressed in the prayer which the priest prays quietly to himself when washing his hands at the Offertory of the Mass; it is a prayer we could all pray, ‘May we come to share in the divinity of Christ who humbled himself to share in our humanity’.

(ii) Saturday, First Week of Lent

This morning’s extract from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount is very challenging and very stark. We never become completely comfortable with Jesus’ command to love your enemies. It seems to go against every human instinct. We can be tempted to dismiss it as unreasonable and impractical. Jesus was envisaging a situation where his own followers would be persecuted and would have many enemies. He was teaching them in advance how they are to relate to their enemies, those who would inflict suffering on them because of who they were. Saint Paul echoes this teaching of Jesus in his letter to the Romans, when he calls on the members of the church in the capital of the Empire, ‘Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought of what is noble in the sight of all... Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good’. That last exhortation of Paul captures the essence of Jesus’ teaching in our gospel reading. If your enemy does evil to you, do not add to the store of evil in the world by responding in kind. Rather, love your enemy, pray for those who persecute you. Overcome evil with good. Jesus wants this to be the way of his followers, because it is his way and it is God’s way. ‘Be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect’. God is constantly at work to overcome evil with good. Jesus’ life, death and resurrection were God’s supreme effort to overcome evil with good. In calling on us to be God-like, some might say that Jesus is asking too much of us. Yet, it could also be said that Jesus is taking us seriously as people made in the image of God. He knows the good of which we are capable with God’s help, even against all the odds and in the face of great provocation.

(iii) Saturday, First Week of Lent

The call of the gospel can be very challenging. This morning’s gospel reading is probably one of the most challenging passages in all of the gospels. Jesus calls on his disciples not only to love our neighbour, which is a call or command to be found in the Old Testament. He also calls on them, on us, to love our enemy, which goes beyond anything to be found in the Old Testament. Many of us might be hard pushed to think of someone who could be described as our enemy. We might struggle to identify an enemy. Yet, we may be able to think of people who have hurt us or who damaged us in some way. We are not likely to have warm feelings towards such people. When Jesus calls on his disciples to love their enemy, he is not talking about warm feelings or feelings of any kind. Jesus is talking about the will rather than feelings. At the very least, Jesus is calling on his disciples to wish their enemies well, all that is good. In the gospel reading, Jesus identifies one expression of such love as prayer, praying for our enemy, praying for those who have hurt us and who have given us good reason to dislike them. ‘Love your enemy and pray...’ Jesus suggests that to pray for those who persecute us is to do something that has a divine quality to it. It is to give expression to the love of God which goes out to all, even to those who least deserve it.

(iv) Saturday, First Week of Lent

If we hear that such and such a person is a perfectionist, it can conjure up in our minds someone who is very demanding and rather fussy about getting everything right down to the last detail. When Jesus says at the end of today’s gospel reading, ‘Be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect’, that is not what he means. The corresponding passage in Luke’s gospel is almost word for word the same as the passage from Matthew, which we have just heard. Yet, it is striking that in Luke the gospel passage ends with Jesus saying, ‘Be compassionate as your heavenly Father is compassionate’. Luke has captured there what Jesus meant by ‘Be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect’. In this morning’s gospel reading, being perfect is identified with being loving to an extraordinary degree, loving our enemy, praying for those who persecute us, who make life difficult for us. Being perfect consists in loving in the way that God loves, which is with a love that doesn’t discriminate on the basis of how people relate to us. This is the pinnacle of Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount. The fact that Jesus calls on us to love as God loves shows that he does not consider this call unrealistic. We may not be able to love in this divine way on our own, but we can do so with God’s help. As Jesus will say to his disciples later on in Matthew’s gospel, ‘for God, all things are possible’.

We tend to use the terms ‘perfect’, ‘perfection’ and ‘perfectionist’ in a very particular way. When we say of someone that he or she is a ‘perfectionist’ we mean that they want everything to be right in every respect. There must be no room for mistake or error of any kind. We tend to think that perfectionists can be difficult to live with or work with because they are so demanding of themselves and of others. When Jesus uses the term ‘perfect’ in today’s gospel reading, he uses it in a rather different sense. When Jesus says to his disciples ‘be perfect just as your heavenly Father is perfect’ he is using the term ‘perfect’ in a different way to how we tend to use it. Sometimes there is more than one version of a saying of Jesus in the gospels. Today’s gospel reading is from Matthew, but Luke’s version of that saying of Jesus goes as follows, ‘be merciful, just as your Father is merciful’. God’s perfection consists in his merciful love. To be perfect as God is perfect is to be merciful in the way that God is merciful. A merciful person has a different connotation for us to a perfectionist. The merciful love that Jesus calls for is a love without limits. It is an inclusive love to the point of including those who are our enemies, those who wish us ill, who seek to damage us. Jesus declares that this is nothing less than a divine love. We might ask, ‘How could Jesus ask humans to love in a divine way?’ We need a divine resource to love in a divine way and that divine resource is the Holy Spirit. Saint Paul refers to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of God’s love. It is only the Spirit who can empower us to love as God loves, to be merciful as God is merciful.

(vi) Saturday, First Week of Lent

Occasionally we come across people who have taken Jesus’ teaching in today’s gospel reading to heart and have lived it out. They have suffered at the hands of their enemies, those who hate them and reject all they stand for. Yet, they appear to hold no bitterness towards those who have persecuted them. They have no desire to inflict on their enemy what their enemy has inflicted on them. They wish their enemy well and pray to God for their enemy’s present and ultimate well-being. Whenever we come across such people, we feel a profound respect and admiration for them. We know that there is something remarkable about their attitude. We sense that it demonstrates what is best in human nature. We feel ennobled and empowered by such people. The teaching of Jesus in the gospel reading to love our enemy and pray for them can seem very unrealistic, but, when we see the Lord’s teaching take flesh in a human life, we recognize its value, we sense its attractiveness. It has been said that if we can learn to love our enemy, then no one is beyond our love. Jesus identifies the love that he calls for as a divine love. If you love like this, Jesus says, you will be like your Father in heaven. Saint Paul says that God demonstrates his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The cross reveals God’s love even for his enemies. If something of this divine love can be in our lives, through the power of the Spirit, then we will indeed show ourselves to be sons and daughters of God.

It is rare to find the stereotypical nit picky, exacting, “clean freak” in modern-day Virgos. Although the sign of Virgo has evolved with the times, there are some unmistakable traits that remain. Virgo people are generally respectable, hard-working individuals who have a love of knowledge and know-how.

Virgo’s symbol, the Virgin, shows itself in the lives of Virgos through a love of all that is “natural” and a certain purity of spirit that keeps Virgos self-sufficient and self-contained, at least on the surface. Virgos are sensitive to their surroundings, and they tend to embarrass easily. They are generally reticent when faced with anything or anyone new. They worry about their health, their performance at work, all the things they haven’t done, and the emails that might be waiting for them while they are away from their computer. Solar Virgos are perfectionists–there’s simply no escaping it. They dream of mastery; they long to do something really well. Oh gosh I could go on and on about past life / kin memories and how to connect. But I’ll start with my most powerful experiences and what I feel may help you at the moment.

* Keep Reading to learn 5 Basic Methods to further connect to Past Life & Kin Memories *

1. Try Connecting to your Higher Self

Sometimes it’s best to try to connect to your Higher Self (the version / versions of you, spiritually, that still exists outside of this Human Experience). I see / believe the Higher Self to be a part of our soul that remains outside of this realm / experience we are having. I like to believe that our soul has a body, not the other way around. And then for me, the aura that can be read outside of the body, is the soul encompassing the physical body. So our body is accessory to our soul.

You Higher Self possess knowledge / memories of all of your past lifetimes (your Akashic Records), as well as your soul contracts in this lifetime, and possible plans on the soul level for future lifetimes. 

If you are able to connect to your Higher Self as you would any other Spirit Guide / Spiritual Ally / Energetic Entity that exists outside of yourself, then you can pick your Higher Self’s brain about your experiences / journeys that came before your experience here and now in this lifetime.

2. Try Connecting with your Ancestors

Ancestral work is so very close to my heart, and helps me to stay focused in the life / purpose I am fulfilling right now. But connecting to your Ancestors can also bring forward those kin memories or even allow you to know if you have lived more than one lifetime as part of your current family tree.

Then there is the matter of connecting to Ancestors outside of your current family tree - but those Ancestors connected to past life versions of yourself… See? The options are limitless.

I find the best ways to start / foster the Ancestral work is to start becoming more aware of your family tree & Ancestral connections in this lifetime. What do you know about your family tree? What do you know of your great, great, great grandparents and their movements within North America and outside of North America? Are there family members or generations that lived in other areas, outside of North American? Could they still be living to this day? 

Sometimes a physical knowing / search of these details via genealogy (or even sites like Ancestry.com / Ancestry.ca) can help you to further connect on the spiritual level with your Ancestral energies.

I also often leave offerings for Ancestors to encourage their continued energy / support in my life. This is where connecting on the cultural level with your Ancestors may be very important. Different cultures appreciate different offerings. Sometimes that may be food, herbs, flowers, alcohol, or just about anything. Oftentimes one thing we forget to offer is our (perceived) most valuable resource - our time. Try sitting more in meditation, offering appreciate and gratitude toward your Ancestors - for you and I know that without them you wouldn’t be here, living the life you are living.

3. Try Accessing your Hall / Library of Akashic Records

Oftentimes diving straight in, head first, into Past Life memories can be disorienting and leave that sense of “am I really connecting, or am I making this all up?”. The best way to combat those doubts is to meditate with the intention of seeing / sensing / accessing your hall or library of Akashic Records (past life memories). 

Everyone has a space that exists in energetic realms that can visually represent their hall / library of Akashic Records. The best way to try to see if you can get there would be to search via Google or YouTube for some guided mediations focused on accessing your hall or library of Akashic Records.

For some people this space will look exactly like a library, or others it may present as a house, cottage, cabin, cave, or any other form of dwelling. I’ve accessed mine before in a library, but also I’ve accessed mine in a cave-type dwelling where my records looked nothing like books, but more like stone tablets OR even these weird crystals that lit up when I touched them.

The more detail you can glean / connect to in experiencing your hall / library of Akashic Records, the more likely you will trust any Past Life memories that are triggered by access this hall or library.

ON ANOTHER NOTE: There is also usually at least one Spirit Guide / Spiritual Ally that reside in this space / realm of your Past Life memories, and they can actually help guide you in accessing the Past Life information you are seeking. Yes. They are kind of like an Akashic Record Librarian. So even meditating to connect to this Spirit can help to bridge that gap for you.

4. Try Incorporating some Spiritual Tools

There plenty of crystals, herbs, incense, card decks, books, and more that are out there that can energetically connect or allow you to connect on a deeper level to your Past Life or Kin memories. 

Some of my favourite go-to’s include:

Petrified Wood: not only is this a crystal that helps to connect to past lives, but it also helps one to “unstick” themselves.

“The Phoenix Cards” by Susan Sheppard: This is by far my most favourite Past Life oracle deck. I think this deck may be hard to find, but even being able to read the book that comes with it is so worth the search. Each card is connected to a certain culture / continent / culture / position within society, and with each cards comes pages and pages of historical & cultural information. I don’t use this deck to just give me my memories, but I do find meditating with the cards and immersing myself within the pages of information can help to create some cool images / words / and messages to come through from Spirit.

A Simple or Complex Past Life Spread: I don’t have one particular spread to recommend here, but I did just last night have a student of mine in Tarot class read a super simple 3-card spread about what I may be carrying forward from past lives. So in using the Tarot and this super simple spread, I was able to discover that my ridiculous Type A / Perfectionist / Control issues, stem from Past Lifetimes of having to fight / struggle for basic needs to be met (food, roof over my head, providing for family & others), which is why I can be overly obsessive or controlling about money (always having enough to cover expenses) in this lifetime. So that wasn’t necessarily a message about a particular Past Life, but more a reflection of past life trauma that is affecting me in my current life. Discovering Past Life traumas can be just as profound (if not more so) than actually delving into your Past Life memories.

5. Try Seeking Out a Past Life Regressionist or Past Life Reader

I’ve saved this suggestion for last because personally, even as a Psychic Medium and full-time reader, I find discovering your own Past Life & Kin memories on your own terms, can be an experience that is just so much more powerful than being led to those memories.

That being said, I’ve had some absolutely awesome exprerienes when working with (paying) a Past Life Regressionist to go back through my Past Life memories.

So what’s the difference between a Past Life Regressonist and a Past Life Reader?

A Past Life Reader will psychically connect to your Past Life memories and tell you where you have been / what you have experienced. How you then feel about this connection can go either way. You may in fact not even feel super close to the information, as it is being told to you rather than you discovering / experiencing it for yourself.

A Past Life Regressionist will help to facilitate your meditative journey to experience / receive via Spirit your own past life memories. This is by and far my favoured approach between the two. I don’t know about you, but I am always more apt to trust information I’m channeling for myself, than information coming from someone else. But that’s just my own personal view / take.

COMPLEXION : Not exactly pale, but not exactly a normal white skin tone either. He’s somewhere in between. BLEMISHES : Not really considered a blemish, but he has freckles that he hides with makeup on his face, and is also peppered with them on his shoulders and upper back. SCARS : Generally all around his body. Joker has a missing right arm, obviously. Though other than that, he has a bullet hole scar in his upper left shoulder on his back from where he was shot once on a kidnapping mission. There’s also some cuts on his forearm from mishaps with his swordcane or a knife. On his back as well are general scars from where he’s been beaten, both by Kelvin and by people on the East End. All For Nothing: He believed he was protecting his “brothers and sisters” back at the Renbon Workhouse by obeying Kelvin. After he and all the first-tier members of the circus die because of it, Ciel and Sebastian find the Renbon Workhouse abandoned. They assume Kelvin allowed Doctor to kill the children for his experiments with artificial limbs. Joker and the rest died for nothing.

Knight Templar Big Brother: He will do anything for his foster siblings, even kidnap children because his demented “father” makes him believe he’s protecting his brothers and sisters back at the Renbon Workhouse by doing so (although there are actually no children there anymore).

My Master, Right or Wrong: No matter how much he hates to kidnap innocent children and force them to perform in dangerous shows in which they die gruesomely; if that is what his “father” wants he will do it, since he’s still the man who saved him and his “siblings”, and the one supposedly protecting the other children at the Renbon Workhouse.

Not So Different: To Ciel. When he begs Ciel to not kill Kelvin he states that the man is the one who saved them and is helping all their friends at the orphanage. Even if Joker and the others had to do commit horrible actions to further their cause, he still feels it’s right if it gives all the abandoned children a better future. Ciel’s response shows that he understands their need to better themselves, even if it’s at the expense of other people, and replies: “To save your own skins, you obeyed him and sacrificed others… You fought to protect your world. What’s wrong with that? In the end, "justice” is just an official line taken by those in power to serve their own ends. No one’s looking out for others. If you’re careless, you’ll be robbed. (+) RAP&DANCE – taehyun’s capacity as a rapper and dancer certainly satisfies and mostly exceeds industry standards and beyond. having first developed both skills as self-taught endeavors, his flow, style, rhythm, and choreography are individually unique and distinctly natural. although his deep register and long, lean frame were birth-given virtues, the intensive training he underwent through his time at galaxy has refined and polished his skills in these areas.

(+) COMPOSITION – besides writing his own lyrics, taehyun has produced many of his own beats, mixtapes, and songs throughout his musical career. from being a teenager pursuing a hobby, an underground artist vying for recognition, and a galaxy trainee striving to stand out, he now regularly contributes to his group’s releases to whatever extent he may. in fact, composition and producing are areas in which he seeks to improve his skills the most, especially as his career progresses.

  BIO/PERSONALITY:

Born in April 6th of 1994, Lee Taehyun grew up in a family that owned one of Korea’s most prominent conglomerate corporations. As expected, his early childhood was without a visible care in the world, golden spoon in hand, reporters and cameras shoved in his face. Designer clothes, top chefs, expensive private tutors, and trips around the globe – yet it wasn’t until age 12 that he learned who he truly was, what he truly was. Summoned to his father’s office one evening, he left as Lee Taehyun, of course the son of CEO Lee Hyunbae, but not of his wife. A bastard son, born to a woman he’d never met or seen, raised with siblings from another womb. It all made sense now, how different his “mother’s” gaze towards him was so starkly contrasting, depending on whether his father was in the room. After all, there he was – a living, breathing, talking reminder of her husband’s infidelity. But perhaps most importantly, there he was – a gigantic threat to the value of the family company stock.

Within the next month, he was shipped off to an elite boarding school in the States for the purposes of receiving an “elite education,” but it was clear to him that he was being shoved away for hiding across the ocean, away from nosy newspaper reporters and competitors who wished to see his father’s company stock falter. The moment he learned what his identity truly was, he was removed from his entire life as he knew it. However, he was compliant throughout middle and high school. Lee Taehyun became that one guy whom everyone envied but couldn’t bring themselves to hate – low effort, high grades, star athlete, had his fair share of adolescent “fun”, but never got caught. He was a real typical golden boy, but behind the scenes, he struggled with his own demons and fumbled with the mysteries he never had the chance to answer. He found solace in music (particularly hip-hop and rap) and dance, and increasingly so, he found himself in the school’s recording and studios, up late at night writing lyrics by the moonlight. Upon graduating from high school, he was shocked to be immediately pulled back to Korea to enroll in college, since his older half-brother was proving himself rather incapable of becoming heir. Again, his father whispered him false promises, that a Korean college degree would mean better “business connections.” But this time, Lee Taehyun wanted none of it. If his father, his family, or anyone at all thought they could push him away and call him as they wanted, they were in for an unpleasant surprise.

Reluctantly so, he enrolled in college, but his true energy was spent in Seoul’s underground hip-hop scene, as he started making ripples in the rap game and joined a dance crew. About a year in, he was casted by Galaxy Entertainment, though he had never had the slightest interest in an entertainment career, yet alone an idol career. He stuffed the scout’s business card away in his pile of books, but as the pressure for him to keep up his grades and intern in the office grew stronger, the more and more appealing the offer became. After all, the trainee contract provided him a place to stay, allowance for food, and the opportunity to deliver a vicious slap in the face of his father. He called in for an audition as a sign of rebellion and signed the contract as a declaration of secession. The day he moved into the trainee dorms was the last day he’d spoken to a family member to this very day.

Trainee life for him was strange to say the least. He’d grown up mostly emotionally alone and was accustomed to making unilateral decisions, not around dozens of other trainees whose desperation and stress he found draining. He hadn’t lived in Korea for the past 9 years, and he didn’t dare to tell anyone about his familial background. Furthermore, he was a rather intimidating character at first impression – towering height, tanned complexion, deep voice, sharp features. He was far from the super friendly, talkative, or welcoming type. He hated sucking up, hated the whole hierarchy of “seniors” and “juniors” – in his world, skill and ability were the only measures of status. Yet by some lucky strike, he managed to find some friends and colleagues amidst the crowds of peers he found mostly mundane and plain. Most importantly, it turned out that he was rather good at what an idol needed to do – rapping, dancing, composing. And most of all, surviving. After three years, the debut came, and although he couldn’t quite consider it a dream come true, it was a promising start.

Taehyun is generally cool, but not necessarily cold. His mannerisms are suave and charming, smooth talker and sharp tongue. He’s not your typical ray of sunshine, but knows when to smile and how to do it convincingly – but don’t expect much cuteness from him whatsoever. Off-camera, he’s reportedly not the most easily approachable. It’s not like he’s hostile or socially awkward by any means, but people often say he seems mature or serious for his age, and his towering height and dark eyes don’t help his cause. However, initiate interaction and he’s talented at holding a conversation, a little blunt, a little teasing, likes to keep people guessing of his true intentions. His closest friends get to see the more free-spirited, romantic side of him, but this is very rare. He’s slow to trust others, but gain his trust, and he’ll pay back with a strong sense of loyalty and justice. He’s not too outwardly friendly or warm, but still seems to know a lot of faces within the industry. He prefers to keep his public and private life separate, and it is generally hard to read beyond his placid façade.

Within his group, his general mantra as a leader is “you do you,” but the moment any of his members do anything to jeopardize the group’s success or test his patience, he’ll serve justice where it is due. He’s definitely not the warm and caring type of leader upfront, and when he takes care of others, it’s generally more subtle and behind the scenes. Admittedly, he can get a little hot-headed and cutthroat in rehearsal or training – he believes in “work hard, play hard.” Occasionally, he can be coldhearted and demoralizing, but only he’s allowed to do that to his members. He won’t tolerate anyone else disrespecting his group.

Regarding trainees, he’s probably indifferent. Chances are, he has no idea who you are – he doesn’t really strive to be a role model or a popular, caring senior. He generally won’t treat you any differently for being a trainee, and for god sake, he doesn’t want you to suck up to him, though he won’t tolerate disrespect.
