It’s like “I could.. probably write some code for that I guess.” and Dr. Mensah is like “don’t worry about it if it would be distracting to you. Just.... tell us afterwards. We want to know how you’re doing” and it’s like “i can give status reports yes.”

Pin-Lee is like “I still like the idea of you giving an indication you’ve been hit. For example.” she points finger guns. “Bang oh no I have definitely hit you with a projectile. Indicate that somehow.”

Murderbot, with extremely flat inflection which would not immediately seem like a distress call to nearby humans: “Ouch. I Have Been Injured.”

i believe that shipping tentoo/rose and recognizing that the way it happened was fucked on the doctor's end and traumatic on the end of rose herself can coexist. saying both of these things do not contradict each other.

i can say that the metacrisis is still the doctor and say that rose was right at first to say "he's not you," because of the context rose has in the moment and the work rose had put into finding the doctor that she conceptualized as the doctor.

i can also say that he tried to manipulate her into choosing the metacrisis because that is what he believed was best for her, even though i can also say she did choose to kiss the metacrisis in her own right.

and finally, i can say, that it was fucked up he left her in norway, solely because, bro, that's a long way away from where they need to go lol.

Darlin groaned and kicked at the blankets while they tossed and turned in bed. They scrunched their face up as they struggled to get comfortable.

“Hey, you alright? Looks like you've got a one-man mosh pit goin on over here,” Sam joked as he walked toward the bed. He set the newly retrieved water bottle on their bedside table and looked at them inquisitively.

“I can feel my skin and it's pissing me off,” they complained. They kicked at the blankets one last time before giving up and melting back into the bed. Darlin tipped their head up and let out a sound that rode the line between a groan and a growl.

The vampire sat on the edge of the mattress and hummed as he considered their options. He clicked his tongue a few times before putting his hands up against the sides of his head. He mimicked the shape of wolf ears and lifted his eyebrows.

“You sure you're not just trying to get a sentient weighted blanket out of this?” Darlin teased.

“Baby, let's be honest, I'd get that whether you were shifted or not. I just want my Darlin to be as comfortable as possible.” He leaned down to kiss their head and carefully untangled the blankets from their sprawled limbs.

Darlin practically threw themself out of bed and all but ripped their clothes off. Once they were bare, they hopped back on the bed on all fours and shifted into their familiar canine form. The tension visibly eased from their body as they let out a low whine. Sam noticed the subtle wag of their tail, but decided not to mention it.

The cowboy maneuvered around the giant wolf in his bed and settled into his side of the bed. He then patted his chest a few times and grinned up at his shifter mate.

Taking the hint, they crawled on top of their partner and laid flat with their head on his shoulder. They nuzzled against his cheek and looked at their lover with the biggest puppy dog eyes imaginable. They'd never admit that part, of course, but Sam knew. That's all that really matters, right?

Sam rubbed his thumb up and down their snout and between their eyes in a gentle repetitive motion until their eyes fluttered closed.

“Good night, Darlin’,” Sam whispered. He kissed their nose with a soft smile. “Sweet dreams.” He buried his hands in the soft fur on their neck and gently scratched. The vampire kept the same rhythm long after his big bad wolf had fallen asleep.

Their weight on top of him paired with the gentle and repetitive motion filled him with a warm calmness. He could get used to this.
