hi

i have some ideas about halos.

so heres the idea: someone with a strong connection to their god (or demon or whatever it is that theyre worshiping) gets a halo from their affinity with said god. these are granted specifically by the god themself so not everyone has them. depending on their specific relationship with their god, the halo will appear in different places!

here's my expanded ideas for a few, as introduced in the drawing above:

classic halo

its your standard everyday floating above the head halo, nothing special about it

normally granted to priests

collar halo

hovers around neck

for followers who are Really, Really dedicated to their god. i mean really dedicated. "i will do anything even if i don't know what 'anything' actually is" level dedicated. you know how dogs are, right?

some wear it casually, some wear it like a noose, some wear it like a necklace.

basically works like a normal collar but can only be manipulated at the god in question's behest

armband halo

hovers around bicep, which arm it is depends on the follower's dominant (or preferred if they're ambidextrous) hand.

amputee followers are rare but in the case that someone doesn't have an arm the halo hovers at an angle above their shoulder instead

generally reserved for generals and other military leaders within the god's army if they have one

the hand

appears around the follower's dominant wrist

only seen on those who carry out the plans and will of their god down on earth. gods tend to not get involved in messy stuff so they find someone to do the dirty work for them down on the mortal plane. is also a play on the phrase "right hand man"

voice

appears around tongue

i feel like this one speaks for itself, really (HA).

not for proselytizers- only for those who speak directly for their god

the follower in question may be selectively or forcibly mute the rest of the time. it varies depending on the person and the god.

eyes

also quite self-evident. appears as a glowing band around the followers' irises (or iris). if they don't have eyes then the halo settles around the level of their eye sockets instead.

whatever they see, their god can also. this isn't a 24/7 thing unless said god chooses it to be. still, they tend to not get a lot of privacy

there have been a couple of blind followers designated their god's Eyes on Earth, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me (and also more than a little bit fucked up)

halo manifests vertically around an ear

works the same way as the eye halo does but for hearing instead

the exalt

rarest

only seen with gods and possessed followers

appears as a filled-in circle of light behind the god or follower's head- if you're familiar with catholic iconography you'll understand what i mean. if not, just look up the wikipedia page for halos (religious iconography) and scroll the examples of christian art including halos

followers are rarely possessed by their gods because commonly gods have enough power to manifest a form on their own and need no vessel. a god in physical form may hide or obscure their halo at will. however, in the case that the god is too weak to assume a form of their own, they will sometimes take over a follower's body to intervene directly in a situation. the follower's body will assume the halo in this case and it cannot be hidden

shoutout to christianity for giving me the idea for this one. i got my problems with the jesus fandom but their character designs fuckin slap

some notes:

followers of one god can only have one halo at a time. polytheists can have several at once, one for each god, although this is extremely rare

followers with halos can naturally see each other's halos. those without have to look harder and nonbelievers (of any god) often cannot see them at all

i didn't intend the collar halo idea to be interpreted as a sex thing but if you want to do that then you can ig. im not a cop

yes the halos are customized depending on the god! some of them put time and effort into it. most don't though

Haii splish splash helloooo hoiii hiii :33 uh don't mind this ig i just wanna put this here for fun or something since i like the not so original [at all] idea of the world of sky being more like sky: children of the dark instead of light like an apocalypse of the sorts for funsies [unoriginal as in I'm 100% not the first time come up with it at all and got like some ideas from looking at the game's concept arts for like 2 minutes]!! I even wrote like an entire not so good just basically very mid poem rhyming thing abt it cuz why nottttt rhymes are amazeballs. Our kingdom was filled with light and love, but wrath and rage transcended the eye above.

The clouds were painted in a hue so red, and from the sky, divine blood had seemed to bled.

Our lands were plauged with horror and screams, our souls faced the imminent doom of no redeem.

The soils had turned from green to black, beings of light sealed away, never to come back.

Our kingdom had fallen, and the only thing to be seen? The souls of us sinners and that which we dirtied.

The realms began to crumble and too did we, creatures of darkness had begun to be conceived.

Our hearts grew cold and too did our hands, amalgamating with creatures begotten by murky sands.

They march the land searching for remains, of a bygone era, seeking to relieve their everlasting pain.

We are no longer viable to heal the wounds of the land, so a final light, we please, to descend.

A new time has come, for this torment to end, children of light must find a way to ascend.

Child of light, go forth and spread your wings, let the heavens know of your arrival: sing.

To fix the remnants of a broken heart, scattered across the lands and torn into parts.

One child must brave the storm, before it becomes too late

✦　There are many packs of corrupted sky kids & spirits on the outskirts 〘 especially in the water〙

✦　It's Dark; The clouds & temple 〘 Mostly the clouds〙block the sky, but even if they didn't, the sky would always be dark anyways〘the time of day in the isle only switches from dusk and the dead of night〙

✦　There are quite a few crabs 〘 different types of crabs aswell instead of just the 1–2 usual ones in the actual game〙but there aren't any 〘living〙 krills anywhere in the isle 〘any krills that were there are nothing but piles of dust, bones or remnants of the past, frozen in time and in place by a force not to be reckoned with〙

✦　“Home” is set up inside Prophecy cave and sealed off to corrupted creatures that try to enter be 〘 very〙 powerful magic. 〘 woulda been forbidden in the previous era due to how unsafe it is to cast let alone set eyes upon〙 All the skids are lucky nothing bad happened…

✦　Corrupted spirits in the isle are normally statues that slowly move when you're not looking & try to corrupt you/freeze you in place/sink you under the sand. 〘 but this only applies to some statues, not all of them do this〙However, Some statues can be re-frozen if you shift them into a certain position.

✦　Sand dunes rose & became caves/dead ends/dens for corrupted skids, also known as packs or “the hunt/hunters”, though they are quite scarce in numbers since most of them have been involuntarily buried underneath dunes of sand.〘 some dunes are sentient, best be careful where you tread.〙

✦　Some large dunes/dark water have/has small, turquoise dots in them 〘 they're referred to as “the lens”〙that stare are you as you pass by them but you can't/shouldn't look at them directly for too long or else they'll cause you to freeze in place due to inducing high levels fear/paranoia/panick at the same time.〘despite the fact that there's nothing major to ge scared of most of the time〙A black hand usually stretches out of the dark mud/water 〘 we'll call it murk for simplicity〙or a hole in a large dune from where “the lens” is and geabs you before dragging you into where the hand came from unless you are moved out the way in time 〘there is little to no chance of return after dragged away and in〙

✦　The outskirts of isle is mainly dark water sky kids normally can't swim in unless they're specially equipped/prepared to do so.

✦　The path to Daylight Prairie Nightmare Lowland is a sea of low, dark water teeming with with packs of slumbering hunters in which a boat is needed to cross.

✦　The isle elder, instead of welcoming you, tries to prevent you from entering their temple and tries to get you to leave by commanding “the hunt” & dunes to attack you, barricading any exits with solid sand and walls. They are referred to as “The Despair”.

How I found this: So, sometimes when I'm bored I'll pick a random mattrey blog that's been active for a long time, open an old post from their archive, see if there's old inactive mattrey blogs in the notes, and look through their archive to see if there's any posts I could make resurface that had stopped circulating, right? The funny thing is I'll go on reblog sprees, so I actually hadn't listened to the audio when I reblogged it. I was only informed of what it said when I saw others freak out about it.

Daily Show with Craig Kilborn. Why it's my fav? Well, aside from being adorable and iconic, it landed my youtube channel in the lost media wiki! How I found it is actually quite easy, when you look up fansites on the web archive you can do specific search for the files the web archive has saved from it. Turns out sometimes quicktime files work! Four parts were in canniballovers and one in dtisfu if I remember correctly, I just edited them together and posted it. Still wish someone could find it in better quality though. 😔

As to how I come across anything... it's lots of free time. Like I'm talking hours daily just picking a random lead and following it. It may be a website you think hasn't been thoroughly searched (I've tried fb, ig, twitter, worthpoint, ebay, wordpress, tripod, weebly, various fansites on webarchive, footage.net, bilibili/baidu, vimeo, dailymotion, flickr, a load of sketchy other websites I don't remember anymore... basically trey parker has brought me to places I wouldn't go with a gun...) a combination of words, a new search engine that may give u different results (I've tried the ones listed in the lost media wiki guide, my favorite is startpage). Using targeted searching like "word" or site:x "word" or "word combo" before:year, basically trying to make google your bitch. I also use gettyimages like a visual wiki of events Trey's been to+the date, it's quite useful... ik you didn't ask the "how" part but aaaa I like talking about it 😭 I have a lot of fun. Even though sometimes I just come up empty handed even after hours of research. More often than not tbh. Also I'm an obsessed weirdo who checks the words "trey parker" daily on twitter, tumblr, ig, fb, yt, web archive and ebay. 🫠

And also the concept of finding is weird because it has happened to me that I thought I had found something and then it actually had been circulating already, so I tried really hard to answer you by only listing stuff I was fairly sure hadn't been circulating before I got to it, but I mean... it doesn't really matter! Hello, hello. I'm writing you this message 'cause I think there's this page on IG 'f1gossipofficial' that is creating a story about Carlos and Rebecca that doesn't exist, or better, if it is, it's probably a pr relationship and nothing more. Beside that, as you can see, Rebecca posted this pictures today and Alvaro, Carlos' close friend posted the same. They assuming Carlos is with them but apparently all you can see is Alvaro and Rebecca on that yacht (IF is the same, we can't be 100% sure about it). The luxury yacht isn't Carlos' but it could be rent by anyone with money (Carlos and Alvaro used to rent it and there are pictures from last year about them on board of that same yacht)

The point is: in a comment this IG Gossip Page would't reveal Alvaro's ig page to whom was asking about his name because, according to them, 'he is a discreet person' but this is TOTALLY bullshit, 'cause the whole world knows his name and knows he's one of Carlos' closest friend.

Plus, 15 days ago when Carlos was in Portugal with him and apparently Rebecca and her friend were with them, they posted Avaro's story where him and Carlos were playing golf. The video was also posted on Twitter by all the people who are a Carlos' supporter. So it went viral showing us his name and Alvaro's Ig account. But people already knew who Alvaro was, again, he's Carlos' best friend from ages. So, what's the point today to avoid his identity?

In conclusion, they want us to believe in all that Carlos-Rebecca shitty story on purpose, claiming events as they really happens when there's no evedince at all, not a single one. Why are they doing it? Are they paid by pr agencies to spread rumors about them? What do you think about. (Sorry, I wrote the longest post ever but I really think it's a very ridiculous situation.)

Ironically, this is the IG Gossip page I constantly shit on... I feel like I should feel slightly bad about it, but I kinda don't anyways.

I have seen this post this morning and found it so fucking strange cause like I always thought everyone knows who is a part of Carlos' friend group outside of the grid... So like i thought it was strange they tried to hide Alvaro's story and hide his name when if you are a Carlos fan you are gonna know who he hangs out with...

But let's say it is true right; why wouldn't Carlos go straight after the race, to see his family, like that's the first strange thing about this post cause the Sainz's clan are extremely family orientated, so why is he with some random girl he's been hooking up with and not his family... That's was the first red flag for me right, cause in my head, I guess right, Carlos was going to spend 1-2 weeks with his family and then go hang out with his friends before he has to go to Ferrari's factory to figure shit out there for the upcoming races.

But also regarding the boat, i always thought Carlos Senior is the one with a boat, but it stays strictly close to Madrid... Am I wrong on that?

I mean i feel like every driver at the moment is with Family and or girlfriends (the ones that are married are now family too) instead of their friends cause of how little they actually see their families.. Also, I've said this before.. I think they get paid to spread shit about most of these drivers... but they are getting paid by people who do not know how much this affects the driver's reputation, cause Carlos now seems like a fuckboy who could have cared less about his 7 year relationship ending, and as far as i'm aware of, when you are doing pr sit for someone you are trying to make them looking like a decent human instead of a dickhead.

At the end of the day, though. I feel bad for Isa, i can't imagine giving someone 7 years of your life just for them to not appreciate it, cause if this whole story with Rebecca and Carlos is true, he just shown how little he loved and cared about Isa, which to me i don't know about you guys but i would feel disgusted with not only myself but with the man involved cause of how easy he moved after being together for so long.

Also, this whole situation kinda gives me... Hailey and Justin Bieber's relationship in a whole... cause Hailey and Justin started their relationship after Justin was with Selena Gomez on and off for many fucking years.. But he never truly gained anything out of it other than some Pussy from Hailey but he had gotten a bad reputation and she gained a lot more attention to her name and she gained her shit skincare brand.

So kept in mind pr relationships they aren't always for both people to gain something out of it, but as long as it benefits one of the two people then, it was deemed as a success.

The picture catches the flames, curling up at the bottom corners, colours melting away and consuming Eddie and Christopher whole before finally, finally taking Buck too.

Because that's the thing. If Eddie is in there, if he's— Then that's what's going to happen. The fire takes Eddie first. Then, Christopher. Christopher who loses two parents and gets stuck with a Buck, a Buck he'll grow to resent because Buck's the reason Eddie was here in the first place, because Buck didn't save Eddie. So, the fire will take Buck finally.

And it will take him violently. It will ravage him, turn him to ash and sift it through their fingers until he's nothing but a few chunks of burnt bone. It will take him, consume him, ruin him. And he'll be dead, in every way that counts. He's already dying now.

Buck refuses to let it happen.

He'll die. He'll die before Chris can resent him because that would finish him off. Losing Christopher, losing Christopher to hatred and loathing, that would kill him. And that death would be much more violent than any chaos fire could wreak.

"Eddie, can we not do this?" Sighing, Buck looks up at the ceiling. "I'm missing five years of my life. I feel like shit. I really don't need you coming in here acting all weird."

Eddie lets out a breath and takes a step forward.

"What do you need from me, Buck?"

And, fuck, that question really shouldn't bring tears to his eyes, but. But Buck's spent his whole life being the one asking that question and now he doesn't even know the person who knows him well enough to ask it.

"I need my best friend." He whispers.

Eddie's face crumbles and he crosses the space between them in three steps, settling onto the edge of the bed and pulling Buck into his chest. Buck clutches at his Henley as he tries to compose himself, but Eddie's hand settles heavy at the base of his skull.

"Hey, don't do that." Eddie murmurs. "Just let it go, Buck."

And so, Buck breaks—for the second time in as many days—in a relative stranger's arms.

Eventually, when the tears have subsided and Buck finds the energy to be embarrassed about dirtying Eddie Diaz's shirt with snot and tears, he sits back in his bed and scrubs at his face.

"Thanks." He rasps.

"You don't have to thank me for that, Buck." Eddie offers him a cup of water and a handful of tissues. "I know you don't remember it, but we promised to have each other's backs and I don't plan on breaking that anytime soon."

"Fuck." Buck wipes at his eyes with the tissues until Eddie pries it from his hand and takes over for him, soft and gentle enough to have the tears springing to life all over again. "I really want to hate you." Eddie laughs.

How did you grow as a writer this year: honestly just sheer volume of writing, for most of my writing life i was always so perfectionist and adamant that i couldn't move on until this one project was polished and perfect but this year i've written and written and written and let myself abandon projects and have rough first drafts yknow

God I hate how stupid and gullible their hatred for Nesta is. And it's sorta funny at the same time. Nesta is hated by a bunch of Feyre Stans and they aren't willing to look passed "what she did to Feyre" but Rhys? Oh yeah, he's perfect.

I have a controversial opinion about the relationship between Feyre and Nesta. And it boils down to Maas (once again) not understanding something. On my first read through (and the one with my husband right before acosf) both of us never considered the relationship between them to be abusive. We still don't. I think Maas wants us to believe it was because she says so. But in adult fiction you have to prove it.

I told my husband that the fandom hates Nesta for being verbally and emotionally abusive. He scoffed and said that he and his brothers said way worse stuff to each other growing up. For me, it rang hollow as well.

Emotional abuse is about control. It isn't just saying things like "you reek" or "if you treat people shitty they'll leave you" then have them go about a normal relationship. Feyre isn't afraid of Nesta. In fact she openly picks fights with her. I wouldn't have dreamed of fighting with my dad. I'm so afraid of him that I wake up in a cold sweat after having a dream about him. I haven't spoken to him in 7 years.

Feyre hears Nesta in her head? I hear my own voice repeating the things my dad ingrained in me to think about myself. I'm not special. I'm a failure. No man will love me. I'm a loser. Holly I love you but I don't like you. As if by simply being me, I'm not worth being loved.

Nesta has no control over Feyre. So I don't believe the book telling me Nesta is abusive. I don't believe it when I get to see through the eyes of a protagonist who tells me within two pages that she can't wait for her sisters to get married and fuck off. I don't believe it when I get to see how truly vile Feyre is in her assumptions about those around her. I don't believe for one second that this girl coming into a conversation and telling Nesta what she can and can't do then withholding information that could cause her harm in favor of a jab that would likely push her closer to that situation is a goddamn victim.

The whole "Maas loves Feysand" is dumb too. A Stan saying that is admitting that the author's bias to the leads makes her incapable of writing honestly. Not to toot my own horn but I had a story that's currently on the back burner where the premise is "the MC is married to the villain but doesn't know it". The point of the book was to show the villain as a loving husband and the MC slowly comes to realize that what he's doing (though for a just cause) was being done in the worst way. I struggled with this story and my own realization that the MC was going to have to kill him. I didn't want to kill him. He was a good man to her and I loved him too. But I couldn't see a logical reason to try to redeem him or keep him alive. And this dude, didn't do half the shit Rhys does.

So yeah... Stans just believe whatever Maas tells them to believe. Until they can't believe it. I see it a lot with Nesta's "redemption" where they can't see passed her past actions. They aren't believing what's being spoonfed to them now because Maas spent 4 books making them dislike her. It's similar to those of us who can't see passed Rhys's actions Utm and beyond to believe that he's just the bestest UwU Dark Daddy ever.

Hello, Ana, I hope you're doing okay. I saw your latest posts and you got some pretty rude anons in your ask box. I'm just writing this to add my 2 cents to what's happening since Silverstone because, as much as I don't agree with a couple of things you say, I think people are completely missing the point about some of your statements and are sending unjustifiable hate towards you (as I recall, an anon was sending asks about you to another blog asking if they were on your side and that's just peak stupidity). So, I'm watching F1 since the 2001 season (yes, I'm above 40) and when Alonso became the WDC in 2005 it was the best season ever for me. Men are not my thing, so I've never felt particularly fond of any of them on a personal level, social media wasn't a thing, I'm also working on STEM, so the technical aspect of the sport always fascinated me. I'm saying all of this because when Alonso won he broke a streak of victories held by Michael from and from a sports perspective, that was awesome. Dominance in the sport is boring. I never had anything against Lewis, he's undoubtedly the GOAT and I actively supported him in 2014 (Vettel's dominance had to end) and even 2015. But since Nico retired and Lewis' dominance became unparalleled (because as much as he has the same 7 WDCs as Michael, Lewis is a much better driver, and Michael played dirty, so Lewis had way more to achieve), and I was wondering when someone would come to stop that (maybe Vettel again?) He just didn't want to lose you like he loses his other wolf friends

Razor silently swore to him self that he will protect you from any danger that you encounter

The weird subreddits and discord servers also seem to have a lot of die-hard Harmione “non-canon” shippers. They bash Ron and Romione (along with Ginny and Hinny) with a burning passion without any objective sense of remorse. They ignore all the merits of Ron’s character and bash him to push their agenda. They can’t even do so much as fucking acknowledge any of Hermione’s character flaws but still somehow manage to fixate on that one time when 11 year old Ron just shit-talked one line while Hermione had just publicly humiliated him in front of the Charms class and practically shouted at him for doing the spell wrong just before. I personally don’t because Hermione was 11 too and wasn’t that good at social cues that early on, which is more than okay. Neither am I.

Only a few people in the Romione fandom bash Hermione. And it’s not like Harmione shippers (most, not all!) don’t bash Ron and Ginny remorselessly, right? The fucking hypocrisy.

If someone considers Ron as the best member of the trio, it is their own opinion and not a fact. I do that. If you consider Harry and Hermione as the best member of the trio or in the whole wizarding world, most people don’t give a flying fuck and probably won’t argue with you because it is simply an opinion. That will only happen when you pass that off as a fact.

Statistically speaking, most (not FUCKING all) Harmione moments are in the movies. The weird dance scene especially. The passionate kiss that happens in Ron’s vision, shit like that. Ron is pushed to the sidelines in the last set of movies while Harry and Hermione show each other endless love and support. “I’ll go with you”. The books on the other hand, describe Harry and Hermione as siblings multiple times, with very little Harmione references.

So you don't want us to fixate on the large majority of Harmione shippers who do the exact same thing, just kissing Hermione's and Harry's ass and hating on Ron. However you will fixate on people who are most likely not EVEN bashing or hating but pointing out a few character flaws in Hermione in a fair and unbiased way. I would know, I'm a huge fan of Hermione as an individual character (in the books). The only criticism I've seen of Hermione to this day has not been bashing. In the comment section of my own fics (shameless plug) I've seen some Hermione bashing. On an ao3 comment section. And I've seen so damn fucking many people bashing Ron, Ginny, the Weasleys etc. and garner tens and thousands of upvotes on quora.

What does Ron even need excusing for? The running away incident and Krum. What does Hermione need excusing for? Canaries, contributing to Ron's insecurities by making him jealous through Cormac and Krum even though she didn't even like them (especially not Cormac, she fucking hated him). Ron wore a locket that literally highlighted his fatal flaw (insecurity) in an echo chamber. Harry kept getting annoyed when Ron wanted to check in on his family. Harry asked Ron to leave; Ron didn't say that shit in the books about Harry's parents being dead: that was plain shock value.

And sorry for repeating myself but I have seen quite a few Harmione shippers bash Ron and Ginny and excuse every single thing Harry and Hermione have done.

37 upvotes on this weird comment that makes no sense? Echo chamber alert! You know what us Romione/Ron fans all have in common? We have never experienced such an echo chamber. I made a pro Ron/Romione post on reddit and got a considerable amount of people who bashed Ron and Romione in the comments.

The amount of Hermione haters is very few compared to Ron bashers. Nobody hates Hermione for being independent, determined, etc. We dislike perfect movie Hermione who’s an unrealistic image of females and seems like some sort of agenda than a real woman. Most Romione shippers/Ron fans and book fans in general (except for you apparently) dislike movie Hermione and still are fans of realistic book Hermione. Most, not all. In general, we do not claim anyone who does the exact same thing to Harry and Hermione that these sorts of Harmione shippers do to Ron, Romione, Hinny and Ginny. I say this on the behalf of all Romione shippers and Ron fans.

Ron's not a bitchy lay-about drama causing loser. That's Steve Kloves's movie Ron. In the books Ron is realistic and simplistic and apologizes whenever he causes problems. He acts up substantially twice in a span of 7 years where he is also a hormone-fuelled teenager.

This is so contradictory and juxtaposed to the point of near delusion. First you talk about how Romione shippers bash Hermione and then you bash Ron as a Harmione shipper. Mate, fighting fire with fire will get you called a hypocrite. Fix yourself.

So the movies are fine when they work according to your agenda? And yes how dare he add such a (fake) chemistry fuelled moment between Harry and Hermione while defeating the entire purpose and groundwork for Romione, the sadness caused by Ron leaving and so many more things? Those Harmione moments you mention seem friendship -esque more than anything else.

Steve Kloves's moments ruined many things while just paying fan service to the Harmione fans he'd birthed through years in the course of 6 movies where he showed Ron as a, how you so eloquently describe it, lay - about drama causing bitchy loser, Harry as one dimensional and Hermione as a zero - dimensional Mary Sue who might as well be the main titular character. We do care about Harry and Hermione at large. Most Romione shippers rightfully bash Draco, Pansy, etc. not particularly Harry and Hermione, that's quite rare. Harry and Hermione can get along without Ron as friends. Ron and Harry can also get along without. Hermione as friend. So can Hermione and Ron without Harry as friends or more. Constant arguing is not what they do. They bicker, they apologize, and sometimes they just do it for the heck of it. They are argumentative teenager. Opposites attract doesn't work in the sense of fire and ice, it works in the case of Brownie and ice-cream. Ron is passionate, laid back and insecure. Hermione's passionate, a workaholic and not as insecure. Ron can help her get calm and composed and get her to give herself a break. Hermione can motivate Ron and re - enforce his confidence.

Your Harry Potter ship preferences should not be the groundwork for your dating life. Please understand that. Harry Potter is a fictional world which is not real. Hogwarts doesn't exist. Magic doesn't exist. I sound like a Dursley but that's what it is: a fictional realm with fictional character. I would personally not give a fuck if my best friend or significant other was a Harmione shipper. Sorry for this long ask but I really like your blog! and thought it could be ok to ask!! --- Is it ok to support female only spaces? I've been getting attacked online lately from friends on ig for supporting women only gyms. I only have female doctors and dentists and just feel overall safer with women than guys.. When I was in college I talked to friends about how I felt really gross in one of my programming classes because even though I was there the guys would talk about REALLY effed up stuff like how rape is normal (ONE guy even said how if he could get away with it, he'd definitely rape a girl hes friends with and then went on to say how she deserved it for being friends with him and not being fwb), how there shouldn't be AoC laws that's only there because old feminists are jealous of younger girls(?????), that women sucked at everything, are uglier than men without makeup, and are overall worse than men. My friends just told me I was overreacting and that I was "super safe" in the class. I switched majors and reading how men really think about women when they have the power of anonymity online on top made me just want to stay away from them completely. The "threat" of being some cat lady is just really appealing now imo. though my dad and brother are probably the BEST examples of awesome men I know. And spiritually, I struggle with this because I know marriage is commanded in the bible. But idk. Right now I'm just really uncomfortable with how SO MANY guys just dont like women? Like they want 24/7 access to our bodies and private spaces, are upset when they're denied and realizing women as people like they are is just too much to comprehend?? First thing first : "I know marriage is commanded in the bible" That's totally not true lol Paul himself state it was better for Christians to remain single (1 Corinthians 7:8) as it makes them more available to accomplish the works of God. Actually the Bible is very ambivalent about marriage as it states in the Book of Genesis that God made woman for the man because He deemed it wasn't good for him [the man] to be alone. BUT in the same time, the Bible acknowledges that remaining single has perks that marriage hasn't.

I don't know where the idea of female only spaces was unbiblical comes from? It's totally natural for a woman to feel safer around fellow women. Many women state they refuse to have male OB-GYN or doctors. Nothing in the Bible states it is wrong to have such preference.

Young men are totally brainwashed by porn culture. They have a totally wrapped view of women and how a normal adult female body looks like. It's like....a pandemic of mental illness at this point... I'm sorry you felt so uncomfortable around them. They love pulling out the argument of "feminist are old women jealous of young(er) girls" while totally dismissing the fact that MANY young women are actually saying the same thing as their older counterpart lmao (most recent example being Billie Eillish, which *surprisingly* got roasted for that) Protecting young people from the abuse of their elder is acceptable everywhere BESIDE when it comes to female's right - suddenly it's just bitter old women trying to steal the fun of young, wild & free reckless girls exploring sex for the first time.... Cutting off social medias has been a huge resolution for 2022 for me. Please keep in mind thzt you will never have control over what is said on the internet BUT you can control whether you let it have access to you and you "mental hygiene". Men will act bold and disgusting online because they grew up in a decadent world that made them think behaving like that is normal. If you travel abroad in countries where porn culture is less pervasive, you'll notice men are actually much more balanced and less off-putting than Western pornsick dudebros (I have family in Africa and African young men have an overall healthier relationship with women). I have a few male friends and they're very nice and not pornsick weirdos. I'm a loner type and don't force friendship so I pick my friends very cautiously. November 7, 1944

Jun-seok was staring at a short Japanese man with a funny mustache. It was as if this man was trying to copy Adolf Hitler's tiny mustache. However, his mustache didn't seem to grow as well as Hitler's so it was half the length of the German dictator's, which made it look slightly skewed.

He expected for the Shosa (Major) to look a little more... refined. After all, he was the highest ranking officer in this district so far. He overheard that General Isumi was traveling to the capital of the country but would be back soon. So, Shosa Kimori would be calling the shots in this district for sure.

The man was smoking a tabacco as he was sitting inside what used to be a meeting room in the government building. He was looking at several papers placed on top of the table beside him.

He saw that he was looking at the military application form he filled out when he applied to be part of the Japanese Army. As the man looked at each page intently, Jun-seok shifted his weight while standing, anxiously waiting for what he had to say.

"So you know how to speak both Japanese and Korean, eh?", the man asked.

"Hai, Shosa Kimori", Jun-seok answered with a loud voice.

"Oh, I'm not Shosa Kimori. I'm Tai-i (Captain) Yuzawa. The Shosa couldn't meet you today. He went to the next town."

Jun-seok bowed really low and expressed his apologies. He felt stupid and for sure, he would be getting a beating. What a horrible mistake.

"It's alright. Stand up. I have another question for you.". Captain Yuzawa said, motioning Jun-seok to stand up straight.

"Do you know how to speak English?", the Captain asked, looking up to Jun-seok with one of his eyebrows raised.

Jun-seok hesitated. He thought he might need to lie because he might be sent to the enemy lines if he said he didn't speak it well enough, especially after what he said earlier. Would it matter if he didn't?

Before he was about to respond, the Captain raised his right hand and waved it slightly in front of his face. He was letting Jun-seok know that he didn't need to answer. "If you don't know, it's fine. The Mayor has someone in his family who can speak Japanese. It's important that you can speak both Japanese and Korean. Not all the locals speak very good English either."

Captain Yuzawa sets aside the papers and stands up to look out the window. He smoothens the creases on his pants. Jun-seok can tell that this man was stern and very detail-driven - his office was impeccably clean and all items on his desk, though minimal, were placed in a very purposeful way. Nothing was out of place.

When he faced Jun-seok, he started to speak in a very firm voice and said, "First of all, I don't agree having you here, Ittohei (first class private) Sakurai. We are having problems with some of the platoons here so if you do the job Shosa Kimori wants you to do, I think it will cause more trouble."

The Captain came up close to Jun-seok, peering into his eyes as they were of the same height. "Do you think you can speak to your fellow stubborn-minded Koreans to stop killing the populace?"

Jun-seok was flabbergasted in so many levels with the Captain's question. Yes, he heard the blatant insult to his race but what perplexed him was the fact that they were killing people and he was challenged to stop them.

"I will do my very best, Captain.", Jun-seok said as firmly as he possibly could. He knew he wasn't as confident as he would've liked, especially in front of this man who has profound disdain of his presence.

"Tch.", the Captain muttered and sat back down. "Dozo", he said and offered the seat across his table for Jun-seok to sit on. "I have a lot to share regarding your orders. Sit."

They spoke for almost an hour about what Jun-seok was ordered to do. It involved him knowing all the Korean platoon leaders and soldiers in the camp.

Lieutenant Akagi aka Gang Cheol was the one the army had most trouble with. Since he was the only commanding officer in certain remote areas of the district, he was the one who gave orders of having several locals killed on the spot. He also executed them as well. Though he was diligent in following orders from up top, if he was the lone officer with his platoon, he would exercise brutality in the most horrid way. 

“Lieutenant Akagi's platoon is fiercely loyal to him because they are all Koreans. But a few follow him because they are afraid to be beaten up.”, the Captain said with a bit of displeasure. Jun-seok thought that the Captain probably had several issues with Lt. Akagi in the past. After all, the lieutenant reported to him. He must’ve been reprimanded before in not being able to keep Lt. Akagi in line, he thought.

"We are stern and brutal if we need to be, especially to set examples to the locals. But if we just randomly kill them, then it doesn't serve our purpose here. Plus the Shosa is friends with the Mayor and he needs to have the coffee fields removed so we can build the tarmac. But he can't just order them to be done or else he destroys the friendship he has with the Mayor."

"Why is the Shosa friends with the Mayor of the town?", Jun-seok asked.

"Wouldn't you be if the man saved your life?"

The Shosa was in camp the first few days he arrived to the country and then rebel forces infiltrated it. A bullet struck the Shosa's abdomen and was bleeding heavily. The Mayor was on his way to the camp since he was summoned minutes before the fighting broke out and to take cover, he went inside the tent where the Shosa was at. He saw him and instead of running away, he dragged him to a nearby jeep and drove to the town hospital and had him treated. If he didn't do that, the Shosa would've died.

"Since then, Shosa Kimori wants to respect the Mayor and his community's needs to keep the town's resources running and for them to keep supporting us. Akagi and his platoon's antics are ruining those chances."

Jun-seok assessed how dangerous this was going to be. He knew that he would have extreme difficulty dealing with Akagi-san if he found out that Jun-seok is really Kim Man-seok's son. He had to make sure they thought of him as purely Japanese. But he won't be able to communicate with them if that's the case; they would shut him out.

"Captain, none of them must ever know that I am Kim Man-seok's son." Jun-seok said hurriedly. "Or else I'll never get close to them."

The Captain nodded in agreement. “Yes, you would have that difficulty. We have to make sure they don’t know. Did your face appear in any of the photos in the newspaper?”

Jun-seok tried hard to remember. He knew it was only photos of his father and brother that appeared in the papers. Since he was younger then, his mother made sure that he was not exposed to the media as his father and brother were recovering in the hospital.

“No. I’m sure of it”, he replied to the Captain.

“Alright then. You are to mingle with the rest of the platoon and make sure to get the others soldiers to change their mind about Akagi so they will follow him less. If Akagi sees that his soldiers are not as loyal to him, he would be less confident and then we can easily move him out of the platoon. If we did that now, his platoon will rebel against the higher officers and we will never get anywhere. Knowing them, they would kill everyone on sight. And I don’t want to lose soldiers anymore by executing them. We still have the rebel factions to deal with and I have less troops as it is.”   

Jun-seok nodded and understood his orders. He also surmised that he had to be crafty to make this work. His life depended on it too. Looking at Captain Yuzawa, he wasn’t one who would accept failure. He wouldn’t hesitate to execute Jun-seok if he failed.

“Before we assign you to the barracks to meet the platoon, you will have to report to the Jun-i (Warrant Officer) Watanabe. He handles our military equipment and you’ll be reporting to him. He is aware of your ‘other’ mission and agreed to help you.”

Jun-seok’s face lit up as soon as the Captain mentioned about the warrant officer and the latter noticed. “Yes, you are getting what you wanted, private. We are not going to let your skills go to waste. After all, you are going to work to get that tarmac built - it’s only fitting you get to work with actual aircraft.”

“Yes, sir! You can count on me, sir!”, Jun-seok said, beaming because of this news.

“You are dismissed.” 

Jun-seok stepped out of the office and was given information by the other private outside. He had to pick up supplies from the local market and meet the warrant officer there.

He couldn’t contain his happiness with the news. Finally! I’ll be able to do what I really wanted to do.

Jun-seok was pleased and he did a bit of a skip as he was walking to the market. He was smiling to himself, thinking of what it would be like to get close to an actual fighter plane. “I hope I can work on a Zero* or even the new Hayate**! That would be so cool!”, he thought with a huge smile. 

He was jostled from his thoughts of fighter planes when he reached the market. It was a busy area that morning and he was surprised that a lot of the locals were there and it was pretty noisy. He noticed that the locals didn’t seem to be too scared of the soldiers here as they were also quietly mingling with them, buying produce and food. The locals were selling their wares of vegetables, fruits, rice and fish. The smell of coffee was pretty strong as there were stalls brewing coffee and selling coffee beans. 

He came upon one stall and looked at the beans being sold. They were of good quality and they smelled wonderful. A young man talked to him in broken Japanese, asking if he wanted some. He said yes and he was given a small bag of ground coffee. When he was about to pay, the man decline. “Muryo de (free of charge)! Ok?”, the man said.

He bowed and thanked the man. As he walked away, he put the bag near his nose. The coffee smelled so good and this made Jun-seok smile. But he stopped in his tracks when he was in front of the sundries store where he was to meet Warrant Officer Watanabe.

“There she is again.”, he muttered. He was looking at the young woman he saw earlier who helped the man who was beaten up by the soldier. She was still wearing the same clothes and the nice 1940s hairstyle she had. She was smiling and talking with a Japanese officer in a very respectful yet comfortable way. he could see that the officer was smiling and acknowledging her, pleased that they were conversing.

She was bowing slightly for every comment the officer gave and though she moved respectfully, he could see that she was comfortable in her own skin. Like she was not about to be bossed around. She was very confident, even though she was acting gracefully and respectfully towards the superior officer. 

“She really is beautiful.I wonder who she is.”, he thought, observing her intently.

He started walking towards her and the officer but as he was about to approach them, she started saying goodbye to the officer.

“Gokigen'yō, Jun-i! Atode mata hanashimashou!” (Have a nice day, Officer. Talk to you later!), the lady said to the officer and waved. She didn’t look where she was going and bumped into him, which startled her. 

“Ah, gomen nasai, Yakuin (I’m sorry, officer)!”, she said loudly and bowed her head low.

Jun-seok gave a short chuckle as soon as she bowed, finding her quick change of disposition amusing. Because of this, it made her look up quizzically.

“Daijobu desu (It’s fine).”, he said softly. This made her stand up straight and bowed slight before walking away quickly. 

He looked back as she walked away, quite curious about this beautiful woman who was sparky and exciting underneath the surface. And to his surprise again, she looked back at him with that intense stare before walking away.

“I will meet you again.”, he declared in his mind before his attention was called by someone.

Over the last couple of days Sam has more stuff on his twitter than C. Hers is all her charity. Everyone is so quick to pounce and judge them both. I don't get it at all.

Anon, I don’t follow Sam on social media so I don’t see what he post or doesn’t post. I only see/hear about things on here and if I deem anything important I check it out for myself. But for the sake of answering this I did go look. His OL content is basically the same as Cait’s. Rt’s of articles and a few gifs the show’s account put out. The only difference is that there is also a ton of Barbour and MPC stuff on there and no other sign of OL on the page itself, but that’s also just this week. Where was he during promo week?  I’m not even going to get into his IG. My criticism is based on what I’ve seen in interviews and events over the last year. And before I get hate about this I don’t begrudge anyone any success. They should take whatever opportunities come their way, but they shouldn’t forget  what made those opportunities possible. 

Cait was in NYC/Toronto promoting the show for almost 2 weeks and posting on SM. I know this is her job and she did it. She was pretty damn good at it and I was pleased and excited because of how enthusiastic she was. This was huge for me because I was pretty down about this season after the mess that was Season 2. She made me excited again. This is why I don’t mind her not being on 24/7 now. She pops up when she has to and I just hope that this continues during filming because it would help a lot with fandom moral during the hiatus. A lot argue that she didn’t do this in the past, which might be true to an extent, but when she has been called to work/promote the woman always brings it.To be honest I really think someone got in her ear and told her what she needed to do after the picture fiasco in SA. There has been a marked changed in her SM presence since then and I for one am happy about that. They owe us nothing, but a little interaction is a great bonus especially when they’re all always asking for money from their fans. She has her joint charity event here next week and she hasn’t mentioned it. Neither has Sam for that matter. Her twitter is OL and her charity, but when you click on her page the first thing you see is Outlander right in your face.I can’t say the same for Sam. If I was a newcomer I wouldn’t have a clue what Sam did. I would guess MPC and Barbour were his main jobs. OL was off Sam’s radar before promo even began. The biggest slap in the face to fans was SDCC. It seemed like they wanted him to take the reigns on that and his mind was elsewhere or he had a different agenda that didn’t quite pan out. I don’t know what his deal was in NY but I’m not buying the exhausted or spoilers excuse. Whatever this new image he’s trying to peddle is it’s not cute.The problem here is people can’t discuss anything without having people jumping down their throat about it. I and many others have noticed a change in Sam and there’s nothing wrong with speaking about it. I still love the show, love Jamie and want to discuss those things, but this is also a space to express your own opinion and if people don’t like it they can move on.
