Something funny for your spy x family ASL au
Luffy took ONE look at loid and internally went 'oh sweet. He's a spy like sabo' and never brings it up while anya just stares at him horrified and like with ace and sabo, he just never brings it up.
This also happens with yor and anya makes a funny noise
(As i am typing this my dog has the zoomies and is running around like a maniac)
Tumblr media
HAHA YEAH THIS WOULD DEFINITELY HAPPEN
I think loid’s a good enough actor that luffy wouldn’t figure it out immeditely from like just a few seconds of meeting him but give him a minute or a few and he’ll figure it out on vibes alone

I'd like to suggest a story idea for zoro, I dreamt about him yesterday and in my dream he always found an excuse to get into the rooms I was in (very often the bathroom… While I was showering of course…) (example: it's dinner time // we're looking for you everywhere, I wanted to make sure you were okay…) Would you be willing to smut this dream into reality? 💚
(of course, it's a proposal, you're free to choose! Thank you so much for reading! 🥰)
don’t bother knocking - zoro x reader nsfw
hiiiii tysm for the request this is lowkey one of my fav pieces for this blog yet lol. enjoy!!

You ran your hands through your hair, making sure all of the soap had been wrung out. Ears blocked by water, you nearly missed the squeak of the door hinge as it opened. Sticking your head out of the shower, you saw Zoro, leaning against the counter.
“Can I help you?” You drew back into the water.
“No,” he hummed, “Just wanted to let you know that dinner’s ready.”
“Alright, yeah, I’ll be out in a minute! Don’t let them all wait up for me, alright?”
He grunted in response, and it took a few more seconds for you to hear the door open and close again.
Weird. Whatever. You stepped out of the shower, spotting wet footprints across the bathmat as you dried yourself off.
Zoro’s been acting this way lately. Always seeming to be where you want to go. Always showing up where you are. You try not to read too much into stuff with Zoro, maybe it’s just his way of trying to be closer friends with you. He’s got so many lofty aspirations that it’s hard for you to justify what your heart wants and what the crew already sees unfolding: Zoro’s got a thing for you. He just doesn’t know how to show it.
You towel off your hair and make your way to the kitchen, where you take your seat next to Zoro. Luffy is lunging for everyone’s plates although they’re all almost done eating, Zoro included. You sigh as you start to eat, relishing in the taste of Sanji’s perfect meal, and you rest your head on your hand as you start to pick at the plate. Distracted by the dinner, you don’t notice how close your arm on the table has gotten to Zoro’s. The heat of the shower is radiating off of your skin and onto his, and the hair on his arms raises. He fights the blush that settles on his ears, making no effort to pull away from your touch.
He stays there long after he’s finished eating.
The knock on your door is most unexpected, at this hour. You get out of your bed, setting down the book you’d been reading, and peek through the sliver of the door. When you see who it is, you open it wider.
“Oh hey, what’s up?” Zoro avoids your gaze a bit. Not completely, just enough to notice. He shrugs.
“Was bored. Mind if I hang out with you?”
You lick your lips. Zoro notices.
“Yeah, come on in, I was just reading,” you back away from the door and fall back into place on your bed. Picking up your book, Zoro sits on the side of your bed.
“What’s this about?” You take the book from him and set it down on your nightstand.
“I don’t really know yet, just started it tonight. But the cover is pretty so that means its gotta be good,” you laugh.
“Pretty sure there’s a phrase advising directly against that way of thinking but whatever,” Zoro mutters. You lean against the headboard as you laugh.
“Right, yeah, ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’, well I happen to find that is the best method to finding anything good.”
“Is that right?” Zoro inches unperceptively closer to you, the arm bracing himself now over your legs.
“Yeah, that’s right.” Zoro licks his lips. You notice.
“What have you been doing hanging out with me so much? What’s the angle?”
“No angle.”
“No angle?”
“Maybe there’s an angle,” he smiles. His eyes dart down to your lips for a fraction of a second, but long enough to ignite a heat that’s started to burn in your stomach. Maybe, you realize, it’s been burning for a while now.
Zoro’s grown closer to you now, something you both realize. But the realization doesn’t make you pull away, not now that he’s got a hand cupping your jaw and tilting your face as if he’s practiced it a thousand times, just for this. Just for you.
You eyes close slowly as you feel the touch of warm, chapped, rough lips ghost your own. It’s as if he’s afraid to push too hard, to break a spell or scare you off, he touches you so dearly. The kiss deepens slightly, but never in a rough way, no, Zoro’s staked so much on this moment to ever make any motion that might scare you off.
You pull away, a giddy laugh making it’s way past your lips. Zoro searches your eyes for any trace of doubt or unrequited emotion, but he doesn’t find it. And he can’t help but catch that infectious laugh, that smile that cracks across your face with such abandon that it takes all of his efforts to not let it consume the entirety of his soul. It does anyway. You lean back up and let Zoro follow you down to where you sat against the headboard, and he moved to straddle you, running a hand through your hair and gently holding by the roots, committing all of these feelings to memory. He’s waited long enough to feel you, and now that he’s got you in his hands, he wants nothing more than to break down every wall you’ve built around yourself, to touch your skin, to sink into you.
He sinks his teeth, experimentally, into you. Not to damage, but to be able to look back tomorrow at breakfast and know that it wasn’t all a dream. Your fingers make his earrings clink as you run a thumb over them, tugging his ear close to your mouth.
“You wanna?” You whisper, the soft smile you’re wearing evident in your cadence.
“If you’ll let me,” he answers, trying not to give himself away. He does anyways. His hands, antsy to roam, have made their way down to your pajama pants and make a move to tug, but you pull away.
“Me first.”
You move to the floor, and Zoro’s hand flies to your nape, not wanting to lose touch with you for a second. His pants have pooled near you on the floor, and with it come his boxers. You lick your lips. And boy, does he notice.
The grip he has on your hair tightens, but is never harsh. Never with you. Even as your lips and tongue start to envelop and swirl around the tip of his dick. Never harsh. Even when his other hand clenches tightly into the mattress. Even as you take him further, noting every vein present and pulsing under your administrations. Even as he fights the urge to tell you every thought he’s ever had about you. Never harsh. Even when his hand leaves your hair to wipe tears brimming at your eyes, he does it with such tenderness that you start to question if the tears are from the gag at all.
Zoro pulls away from you, clearly a motion of great strain, and he pulls you back up to the bed, where you finally kick off those damn pajama pants. Laying down, Zoro’s eyes ask an unspoken affirmation from you, as his fingers hook around the edges of your underwear. You nod, and the haste of which he pulls them down makes you laugh. His lips are back on yours, tasting your laughter, until he pulls away to cup a hand on your cheek, slipping his thumb into your mouth, greeted by an unexpecting hum. He draws it out of your mouth with a pop, and brings it down to your center, dragging it across your folds, holding you open. You take in a sharp inhale as he rubs his thumb across your clit in circular, steady motions. He smiles, watching as you start to clench around nothing, and all for him. His lips are back on your neck, kissing further down until they ghost over your chest, pause, and continue kissing over the cloth of your shirt. Your back arches towards his warm breath, the fire in your stomach reaching a blaze. Your hands are all over his back as he continues to work you open, steadily puting more pressure on your nerves. You groan at the feeling, impatience starting to wear you down.
Zoro hears the quickening of your breath, and decides to sink a finger into you, working it around to get you adjusted. You huff in exasperation as he pulls away, only long enough to get himself settled towards you. His hand is above your head as he angles himself, dragging his dick along your folds. You groan in unison as you feel each other’s warmth, the culmination of all this waiting paying off after all these years. He sinks in, slightly, not so much to satiate you by any means, no, but it’s enough to get you adjusted.
Zoro takes a deep breath, and lets it go as he slides fully, sheathed impossibly tight within you.
You take a deep breath, and you let it go as you’re filled, depths reached.
“Good?”
“Good.”
With your affirmation, he moves, slowly at first, and then picking up the pace. But never harsh, never abrasive.
Not tonight.
There will be other nights, nights with less on the line, where Zoro will allow himself to tear into you, to deny and restrain you, but not tonight.
Tonight, Zoro focuses on loving you, which comes easily, given that it seems as he was born to do just that.
_____
The warmth of the hot water soothes your legs as you bend down to turn the shower off. The cool air of the night hits you as you step out of the shower, not surprised to see Zoro leaning against the counter. He watches as you wrap the towel around yourself.
“Can I help you?” You muse, tucking the towel in and wrapping your arms around his shoulders. He smiles at you, resting his hands on your waist.
“Nope,” he presses a kiss onto your lips, “no angle here.”

Sanji - Ice cream
Annyong Haseyo!!! I kinda changed the prompt a bit, to fit the story.
Prompt by @nottbilly (wattpad)
Pairing : Sanji X Reader
Warnings : Just fluff!
Word count : 2.3K
Modern Universe
Summary : Sanji is a regular at the icecream parlour you work at. Every time he brought a different date to the place. One day, he was alone and you decided to talk to him. Would this blossom into something new? Lets find out!
A/N : Being a hoe for this man Sanji, I can’t help but write when I find suitable prompts for him. Most of the prompts which I read, I automatically imagine with him. But this, is definitely his character.
Tumblr media
There he came again, with a different girl. It’s been 5 months since you started to work in this Ice cream parlour in the evenings. Serving customers ice creams and cold drinks was your part time job and, every week at least 3 times you saw the same blond with different girl.
The first meeting of you two was also awkward. It was the start of the new semester in colleges when you started to work here. One day, when the blond was about to leave because his date cancelled on him, he came towards you and said, “Hey! You are really cute. Do you come here often?”
“Actually… I work here”, you replied. His cheeks turned red due to embarrassment and he left the place. You thought he’d never return… But you were so wrong.
In the beginning you didn’t care much but, as he was a regular, your interest perked up. You listened to how he tried to talk to the girls but… oh god… he was so bad in flirting. You were sure, the girls used to come with him to get free ice cream.
He greeted you every time he came and he seemed like a nice guy. You witnessed many confessions, rejections. Honestly, he was actually handsome, but his flirting, his actions, mostly scared away or creeped out his dates. You really felt bad, when he left the place dejected every single time.
After 5 months you saw him again, but for the first time, he was alone. He had no company. He came towards you and asked for his regular flavour.
“Will anyone join you?”, his expression changed to an awkward one. ‘Oh no… did I offend him?’, you panicked then he sighed and said, “No, I don’t have a date today. No one even wants to come for a free ice cream now”
He took the ice cream from your hands and sat on the chair. He scrolled his phone as he ate in silence. He was always lively, always smiling and trying to impress his date, while they always were bored or just plain ignored him by texting someone else. You looked outside and noticed that, no one was coming to the shop. So, you took off the hat and placed it on the counter. You headed over to the blond and asked, “If no one is coming, do you mind if I give you company? I mean, I don’t feel like costumers will come now. So… What do you say?”. It felt like it took some time for him to register what you said to him. He quickly stood up and shouted, “YES YES YES PLEASE! THANKYOU”.
You chuckled and sat opposite to him as he gripped the table before him nervously. It was quiet for a few seconds. You thought he’d talk first but, you decided to break the silence ‘cause he seemed nervous.
“So, I’m Y/N by the way. Just working here part time to make extra bucks”
“Oh forgive my behaviour. I didn’t introduce myself first. I’m Sanji. I study at the university near this place. So, I tend to come here whenever I try to get a date”
“Woah! Is that so? So, what are you studying there? It’s so hard to get accepted into that university, tell me about yourself Sanji”, you placed your hands on the table before you and listened to him.
Sanji told you about his culinary course and how he was into cooking from a young age. You really got interested as he talked about how he was a cook and wanted to open a restaurant soon. As food being your love of life, you couldn’t help but to be curious of his cooking.
“And I am sure this is weird but, if you would like to try, I’d love to bring something for you to eat”, he scratched the back of his neck anxiously.
“Yes! I’d love to. I know it’s weird but, I’d definitely love to try your cooking”, the blush on his face reddened as you said that.
“Then its set. I’ll make something for you”, he chuckled. Now to raise your most awaited question and concern.
“Sanji… I am not trying to be rude and I know this is our first conversation but, are you… are you working out or doing any sports or yoga. I mean you… are a regular to this place, coming here 3 times a week… You are taking care of yourself right? I am not judging you… just worried”
His cheeks turned red with embarrassment as he answered, “I actually work out 5 times a week and sometimes do martial arts. Thank you for worrying about me” he looked at his thighs and stayed quiet.
“Hey, what’s wrong?”, concern clearly visible on your face, you asked him. He looked up and said, “This… This is the first time, a lady showed interest in what I am doing and even worried about me so… It just feels over whelming”
He was dramatic but, you could understand it because you always watched him… the way he praised his dates, flirted with them, all the time they were here. You never heard him tell anything about himself. So… you decided to lift up the sprits.
“Don’t worry, you are really fun to talk to and also… handsome”, you averted your eyes and whispered the last part. It was barely audible but Sanji heard it. His cheeks turned pink as you said that to him.
“Thank…you”, he murmured and your gaze shifted back to him.
He tried to cool his heated face and brought the ice cream towards his lips. He licked the melting cream and smiled as he looked at you.
You talked about yourself and he listened carefully. You talked about your hobbies and dreams. He excitedly asked you about them and why you like them. He was really listening to you. He wasn’t acting. You both got carried away as you a lot. You literally introduced him to your world. He ever listened to the songs you liked or the read the books you admired. He was genuinely interested when you talked about them.
“Oh my! Y/N, these are amazing. I might get addicted to them”, he said. You were about to talk more but were a customer entered the place.
Getting up from the seat quickly you went towards the counter and handed the customer what they needed. Then your gaze shifted to the blond, who now stood before the counter and was held out his money for the ice cream. You shook your head no and said, “You don’t have to pay for that. It’s my treat”
“Wait why I’m a guy? I should pay, but you didn’t even eat anything. I am practically paying for myself”
“Is there any rule that, girls can’t pay for their dates?”, the date word slipped out of your mouth by accident but, it resulted him to blush harder.
“I… I’m not saying that”, he pouted and whined, “This was a date. You said it. You cant take that back”, making you chuckle.
“Yeah… I guess I can’t. Well, in return, I did have a date with… a cute guy”, you murmured the last part as you looked down, making him gulp.
Placing his elbows on the counter gently he leaned towards you. “Beware, if you keep doing things like this I might kiss you”, he whispered near your ear.
Your face heated up as you felt his breath near your eat. ‘Was he always this confident always?’, you thought as you looked at him. He had a cocky smirk on his face. Then his phone buzzed. He pulled back and you nodded at him to check it.
“Damn it… I can’t believe it”, he said as he looked at you.
“Its okay, go back. It’s not safe to stay late”, you smirked as he took your hand.
“I just can’t believe it. I’m leaving first on a date. Usually its always-”
“YOU. I know. It’s alright for you to leave. It’s not a crime. Now go back”, you insisted as you placed your free hand on his. He tugged on your hands and asked, “You’ll be here tomorrow also, right?”
You giggled and said, “No. I won’t”
He was shocked at what you said. You chuckled at his expression and said, “I’m having a day off tomorrow”
He sighed as he frowned. “You almost had me”, he huffed and continued, “Then, can I take you out on a date tomorrow again”, he asked and you nodded yes. He smiled as he reluctantly let your hand go and walked towards the door. He looked back at you as he waved bye. You returned his action and he left the place.
The next date, you got to eat one of the best dishes he cooked. It was absolutely delicious. The next date was a movie and the other was at a park. You both really had a great time together.
At Sanji’s house
After some date, at last you were coming to his house so Sanji was getting super nervous. But the ruckus on the dining table made it even more irritating to him.
“SANJIIII MEATTT!!!!”, shouted Luffy as he kept stuffing his mouth with Ussop’s food, making the latter cry as Zoro just gulped down the beer he got in the fridge.
“GET OUT YOU THREE! A very important guest is coming today. So scram”, Sanji practically tried to kick them out but the bell rang.
“OMG! You two. Be polite”, he glared at the duo and opened the door with a smile.
“Welco- Oh! Nami san, what brings you here?”, he asked her nervously.
“Wha?! Did you just stop smiling after looking at me”, she asked as she folded her hands.
“Oh my No never Nami san! I’m… happy that you are here”, he said.
“Sanji weren’t you the one who said that I was always invited to your house?”
“Yes milady”
“Then move or do you not want me to-”
“OMG! Sorry and please come in”, he said. His nervousness was making it hard for him to think properly.
“Franky will be here soon”, she said to the blond as they both entered the living room. Sanji clicked his tongue and thought why everyone were here now out of all other days.
“Someone is apparently coming here”, Said Ussop to the ginger as she sat beside him.
“Really? Who is it?”, she asked the long nose as he shrugged. “Come to think of it, he isn’t trying to be so flirty with me anymore”, Nami said as she got comfy on the couch. “He is also smiling and texting a lot”, said Zoro and it perked the interest of the two.
“So… tell me, what’s happening”, asked Nami with a smirk. The bell rang again and Sanji again went to open the door thinking Franky. He opened the door with a annoyed look on his face but his eyes met with yours.
“Oh my. What happened Sanji? Is this a wrong time? I’ll go if it-”
“NO! no my dear. It’s not. I thought my friend came over”, he said as he held your hands and placed a kiss on them. You blushed as he did it. ‘Damn his charming attitude’, you thought and then you heard.
“What are you guys doing?”
You and Sanji turned towards the door. There you saw 3 guys and a girl. Excluding the guy eating something, the other three looked like… they were spying something. Sanji sighed and said, “This is Y/N, we are dating”, he pulled you close to him as he placed his hand on your shoulder.
“WAIT WHAT!!!!”, shouted the guy with the long nose as he came closer to you. The orange haired girl was also in front of you in a split second.
“You agreed to go out with him?”, she asked
“Are you an actress by any chance and is he paying you to act”, asked a man with green hair.
“Oye!! Why are you all so shocked? It’s true. We both are dating. Don’t scare her”, he said as he hugged you closer.
“Yes, we are dating”, you smiled as you hugged him back and added, “He is such a gentleman and is so caring” making him blush
The three whistled at you two and Sanji led you inside. Soon they were introduced to you. Apparently, four more people entered the place without announcing.
You had a lot of fun with Sanji’s friends, now your friends too. Everyone played, ate and sang. Soon, it was already evening and everyone left the place. You stayed and helped Sanji to clean.
“Tsk… I thought we could’ve spent time together. You only get 2 days off work”, he pouted. You ruffled his hair and smiled at him. Leaning your elbows at the counter, you looked at him and said, “It’s okay. Your friends are really good. I enjoyed my time here”.
He wrapped his arms around your waist and smiled. If you enjoyed, then it’s fine”, he said as he tucked a strand of hair around your ear and looked deep into your eyes.
You knew what he was trying to ask, but was nervous. “Sanji, its okay”, you said as you placed your arms around his neck. Slowly he leaned down and his lips met yours. They were soft. He gently tilted his head to deepen the kiss. Your hands travelled to his hair and shoulders. His arms pulled you even closer and one of his hand, gently stroked your cheek. You broke the kiss to look at him. You both smiled at each other as your foreheads touched.

On the Baratie, Part 2 - a One Piece Mermaid AU Text Story
Tonight I bring another humble offering of a text story, this time a continuation of the Baratie story that y’all voted to see more of!
This was posted in advance on my Patreon several weeks ago ^ ^
Continues off of Part 1, but can be enhanced by reading the Prologue as well!
Links to previous parts:
👒🐟On the Baratie, Part 1
👒🐟On the Baratie, Prologue
~~
Sanji and Gin jolt when they notice the mermaid draped over the rail above them, her tail gripping the wood like an anaconda.
"Glad you got food!" she says to Gin, who is too busy staring to hear her words. "And you!" now directed at Sanji, "You're cool! Join my crew!"
Sanji can't really judge Gin, because he's staring too. It's hard to tear his gaze away from the stunning goddess who has seemingly materialized out of thin air to be within touching distance, but he manages, and--it appears she's alone. The pirates are nowhere in sight.
"Are you alright?" his words leave in a soft whoosh, in case the pirates can hear, and Gin finally snaps out of it to look at Sanji with concern.
"Me? I'm great! The food here's awesome! I'd be more awesome if you joined my crew!" She grins, and her mouth is full of gleaming pearls, and Sanji struggles not to swoon.
"Your...crew?" Sanji's impressed he managed to catch that, he's so entranced by her voice. It's lower than he expected, but rich, and bright, and boyish in a way that matches her wind-tousled hair.
"Yeah, I'm a pirate!" She announces proudly, slapping her flukes against the wood in emphasis.
"A...pirate," Sanji repeats. "Those people who came in with you..."
"They're my crew! They're awesome!" The pearls flash again.
Sanji's inclined not believe her; he has no clue what the pirates have forced her to say, and even if that's not the case, she has this innocent air to her that suggests she may have been tricked into believing herself a willing member of the crew--but he stops.
There's something about her, the way her big, wide eyes sparkle and her smile shines down on Sanji warmer than the sun, that convinces him that she's telling the truth.
The mermaid really is a pirate. Which means she doesn't need to be rescued.
"I see," he manages to say, and slowly forces the tension from his shoulders. He'd be lying if he said there wasn't a small part of him that's disappointed that he won't be able to act as her shining knight. But a much larger part of him is relieved, relieved because he honestly wasn't sure how he'd get rid of the pirates without the shitty old man and the Baratie suffering, and relieved because it means his princess isn't in distress. As much as he'd love to be her hero, Sanji doesn't think he could bear to see her in tears.
They talk some more, and Sanji's once again impressed with his ability to maintain a normal conversation with the mermaid, whose name is Luffy. Gin blanches at her announcement that they're going to the Grand Line, but he'd seen the members of her crew too, and reluctantly nods.
"Just be careful out there, monsters live on the Grand Line," Gin warns as he prepares to set off.
"It's okay, we have monsters too!" Luffy grins, carefree as can be. Gin and Sanji believe her, though neither at the time suspect that she includes herself among her crew's "monsters."
Zeff comes out as Gin's leaving, and Sanji cheerfully destroys the evidence of having fed the starving pirate before the restaurant owner's eyes. Luffy blinks at the exchange, before something seems to click.
"Oh, you're the Zeff dude!"
Zeff's eyebrows climb into his impossibly tall hat. "Oh? And you must be our first ever mermaid customer. The cooks were in quite an uproar over you." His eyes flick to Sanji knowingly, well aware that Sanji had shoved the other cooks aside in order to claim the honor of cooking for their party personally.
Luffy seems weirdly pleased. "Hey, Zeff dude, I found you! Thatch wanted to talk to you. So you should go talk to him!"
She's clearly very satisfied at having relayed her message, and Zeff harrumphs. "Thatch, eh? Well that's a name I've heard before...let's go see the brat."
Zeff disappears back inside, leaving Luffy alone with Sanji. He feels his heart pounding weirdly again, now that they're by themselves.
"You should really join our crew," Luffy says, and her persistence is endearing. She's picking her nose now, and with anyone else, Sanji would complain about how unsanitary it is, but anything done by her is charming. Sanji notes that her nostril seems bizarrely stretchy. How absolutely adorable.
"Is your crew in search of a cook, milady?" Sanji allows himself to briefly imagine what it would be like, to travel the world with such a lovely companion. The rest of her pre-existing crew fades to the background, until it's just her and Sanji, leaning against the rail of a beautiful white ship, seagulls soaring through brilliant clear skies as he pulls back the veil to kiss the bride--
"Oh, nope! We already have a cook!" she says cheerfully, shattering the fleeting vision of their wedding. "But, that doesn't mean we can't have two! And your food looks great! You should be our cook too!"
Ah, they already have a cook...Sanji suddenly remembers seeing the pompadour man, the one that had tickled his memory. He frowns, because that niggling sensation won't leave, and something tells him it's important that he remembers where he knows the man from.
"I should get back now, or Ace will be mad," Luffy announces, and shimmies up the rail back towards the door that Zeff had left from. She glances back at Sanji expectantly, and Sanji follows, unable to deny his princess's summons.
~~
The rest of Luffy's crew is still lounging in the back VIP section, surrounding the most lavish table in the entire restaurant and given a degree of privacy from outside with the help of thick curtains. Sanji had assigned them to the table in case they need a nasty confrontation, but it seems like that won't be necessary.
Sanji jolts when he realizes that the pompadour man has risen from his seat to stand in front of Zeff, and the two are talking animatedly. Sanji doesn't remember the last time Zeff looked so pleased to speak with an outsider.
"So yer now the Head Chef of that old man's fleet, eh," Zeff is saying, and the pompadour man looks weirdly bashful. "You woulda been a fine addition to our crew though, kid."
"Possibly," Pompadour agrees, "though my place is with Pops."
"And what about now? You change your mind about that, or taking a vacation all the way out here?" Zeff snorts, and Sanji acknowledges the affirmation that yes, these really are Grand Line pirates.
"Something like a vacation, and to spend some time traveling with my dearest--Luffy!" he exclaims.
"Thatch! I caught a Zeff!" Luffy announces, smacking her tail hard on the ground to bound up onto pompadour man's vacated seat.
All of the food at the table has been consumed, and Luffy looks sadly at the empty plate as though she had been expecting something to still be there. Sanji wants to immediately return to the kitchen to refill it, but then he notices that Luffy is now licking the plate. Her manners are absolutely beyond atrocious. It suits her though, and Sanji wouldn't want it any other way, because he hasn't ever seen such blatant appreciation for food that he'd cooked, and it's making his entire body buzz with barely contained bliss.
Before Sanji can make his offer to bring more, the pompadour man, Thatch, interrupts. "Lil Seastar, you don't need to do that, I'll make you seconds back on the ship," he says, fluffing Luffy's soft hair and Sanji seethes in jealousy.
"It was really good, you were right about the Zeff dude cooks," Luffy says mournfully at Thatch's plate. "Though Thatch's still the best!" She butts her head into Thatch's large palm.
Zeff laughs at her words. "High praise, to be compared to you, Whitebeard's lil cook, if you've grown as much as you claim. This meal was prepared by my Sous-chef. Come here Sanji," he says and Sanji jolts at suddenly being addressed.
Sanji's distracted by Thatch's hand on Luffy's head, but forces himself to look up at the tall pirate, who's now scrutinizing Sanji intently. There's something about the man that's really bothering Sanji, like he should really, really know him. Sanji thinks Zeff just said Whitebeard, and if that's the case--those are BIG pirates. Like, the Biggest actually, which is kind of insane. But, Sanji doesn't actually recall being familiar with any officers, other than having heard about Whitebeard himself, so it really doesn't solve the mystery of familiarity.
"So you're Zeff's best, hm?" Thatch says, and even though Sanji can only sense genuine friendliness from his smile, he still feels oddly awkward, unsure how to react. It's not often that Zeff holds another chef in such high regard, and one so much younger than him too. Sanji feels like he ought to be polite, at the very least.
He once again doesn't need to speak, because Luffy beats him to it. "Yeah! He's a good guy! And if he made our food, then he's good at food-making too! I pick him, I've decided. He's gonna join our crew!"
Sanji feels his cheeks burn at the praise, but being invited in private is a bit different from having it made into an announcement to an audience Sanji doesn't personally know. "Luffy, darling, please wait--"
"Lu, what'd we say about inviting people without consulting me? We're both captains here, we need to agree," a voice says lazily from Luffy's other side, and Sanji's gaze jolts to the man who unfolds himself from the shadows like a lethal big cat.
He'd somehow forgotten the others except Thatch, but this is the man who'd carried Luffy in, the dangerous one. He gives a careless nod in Sanji's direction, giving him a cursory sweep with dark, sleepy eyes even as he opens his arm. Luffy, pouting, slides onto the man's lap, and the arm settles again to wrap around her waist.
The move looks intentionally provocative, Sanji thinks, struggling to keep his scowl inside. It's hard to watch them pressed together, the man's bare, rippling torso to Luffy's revealing top and the soft flesh bulging from within. Luffy wraps her lovely coral gemstone tail around the man so it loops behind his chair, making their contact look very mutual. Throughout it all, the man doesn't break eye contact with Sanji.
The man's sending a message, and Sanji gets it loud and clear: Hands off.
Sanji decides he doesn't like the man.
"But Ace, he's a Good Guy, we want him on our crew," Luffy says, staring up at the man with enormous eyes and a wobbly lip that has Sanji clutching his chest.
The man, Ace--why does that sound vaguely familiar too?--has the nerve to look bored, even when exposed to the full blast of the gorgeous mermaid's luscious pout, and at this point Sanji has to conclude that the man isn't human, because what mortal could possibly resist her?
"Mm, a Good Guy, huh," Ace says, he gives Sanji a slow, knowing smirk that forces him to hold himself rigid to avoid stepping back. "I dunno Luffy, he's looking at you like you're meat."
His gaze gets colder then, and Sanji's indignation dies on his lips.
"Meat..."
The moment's over when Luffy looks down at herself contemplatively, and her stomach growls.
"I take that back," Ace says hastily. "You're not meat, you're fish, and made of rubber at that. Bad idea, Lu."
"How about I get you something, and I can let Zeff see for himself if I've improved while I'm at it?" Thatch slides in. "That is, if you don't mind me borrowing your kitchen, Zeff?"
"Outsiders don't play in my kitchen, boy," Zeff snorts, and Sanji's relieved at the sudden return to normalcy, but it's short lived. "But for you, I'll make an exception. Let's see it."

So I read the Ace Novel (Part 2)
I’m going to be level with you, if I hadn’t said I was going to do a write up for the novel, I don’t think I would have finished this one. The first fifty or so pages are terribly boring, and while it picks up considerably toward the end, I don’t think I can recommend it, for one reason and one reason only:
It reads like a freaking wikipedia article. And I hate it.
I described Part 1 of the Ace novel like three separate one shots with the barest hint of continuity between them. That’s not the case this time around, as most of what it covers are events mentioned in the manga: The fight with Jinbe, Ace’s 100 battles with Whitebeard, Ace formally joining the Whitebeard Pirates. Comparatively speaking, that’s a lot of canon material to get through. Consequently, it’s also quite a bit longer than Part 1, about 200 pages.
Tumblr media
(some of those pages happen to be longer than others)
(yes this made me literally laugh out loud)
The problem is there is a metic ton of manga recap that has nothing to do with this novel, especially in chapters 1 and 2. This was baffling to me, as it seems unlikely that someone would pick up a One Piece magazine (where the novel was originally published) or a One Piece side story without bing familiar with the manga. Yet concepts like the Four Emperors, Celestial Dragons, and even the Grand Line were laid out in meticulous detail.
I am going to be unfair for a moment and compare the Ace novels to my favorite spin-off series of all time, the Kyoshi duology that takes place in the Avatar universe.
Unlike the Ace novels, they take place several centuries before the main series, so there aren’t a lot of plot details that overlap with the animated series in the way the Ace novels do to the main manga. What is in common, however, isn’t repeated. Nowhere in the two Kyoshi books does she learn the story about Avatar Wan or any of the same lore details that are important to Aang and Korra’s stories. Instead it expands on the world building details laid out in the main series and deepens them.
For example, do you want to know how the Fire Nation royalty got so good at lightning bending, or how the greater Earth Kingdom political landscape works? Read book 1. Do you want to know how the Fire Nation went from a fractured clan system to a strong centralized government or how advanced water bending healing techniques work? Read book 2. It’s exposition that fleshes out the system already in place, rather than retreading what’s already been established.
Part 2 of the Ace novel does this a little bit when it develops the Pirate Code, something that has never mentioned in the manga, and even if it was Luffy’s not the sort of character that’s going to care to adhere to it. The strongest portion of the novel shows Ace going out on a mission on Whitebeard’s behalf, showing some of what it’s like to maintain the vast territories that he keeps under his flag.
But mostly...mostly it’s just recap. Literally the entire Fishman Island backstory is written out in some of the blandest narration I’ve ever read, paragraphs upon paragraphs talking about Queen Otohime and Fisher Tiger and the civil unrest of the Ryugu Kingdom, including but not limited to Vander Decken stalking Shirahoshi and her subsequent imprisonment in the royal tower.
There’s also the wholesale recycling of gags straight from the manga that 1) don’t necessarily work as well in written format, and 2) show no originality or creativity on the part of the author. In my opinion, recurring gags are funniest when a writer can contrive different variations and circumstances around the base joke. Instead we get scenes like this beat-for-beat copy of Ace’s narcolepsy gag in Alabasta, down to using the waitress’s skirt as a napkin
Tumblr media
I noticed in Part 1 that the author had snuck some canon elements in, such as Deuce and Ace building Striker—the one man, fire-powered boat he showed off in Alabasta—when I personally didn’t think either of them were smart enough to think up, let alone construct, anything that sophisticated. I didn’t mention it in my previous write up because there are a lot of fans that enjoy those kind of Easter eggs, and it’s a novel that runs on manga logic so it’s not exactly breaking my suspension of disbelief either. It was a minor quibble that didn’t really detract from my overall enjoyment.
But the story of Fishman Island is at best tangentially related to the events of the novel. The only reason Fishman Island is important at all is because Ace decides to burn down Whitebeard’s flag on his way into the New World.
Which brings me to perhaps the most interesting aspect of the novel: Ace himself.
Tumblr media
Even in the manga, you can make the case that there are two Aces, the happy-go-lucky, cool, and mysterious older brother of Luffy seen at Alabasta/post-Enies Lobby, and the angsty, existentially depressed young man with daddy issues that shows up during Impel Down/Marineford.
The novel leans much closer to the latter. More than I expected it to. The Ace of Part 2 is hotheaded and a bit of a jackass. Whereas Luffy tends to go after people he has a personal beef with, Ace specifically targets Whitebeard because he was the closest to Roger, and he thinks that defeating Whitebeard will somehow bring him fame greater than his father. He ignores the concerns of his crew and the repeated warnings about how Emperors control vast armies...because of daddy issues. The novel goes out of his way that Ace’s dreams made him better suited to be a Revolutionary than a pirate, and it’s only because of his childhood promise that he became a pirate at all. It wasn’t something born out of true conviction or desire.
Laying it out like that, it might seem like this is a negative, but to me it’s one of the most interesting things the novel has to offer. I thought Part 1 worked best when it acted as a character study for Deuce, Ace, and the marine girl whose name I have already forgotten, focusing on how Ace brought together degenerates unwanted by even other degenerates. The same is true here: Once the exposition dumps are over and the focus returns to the titular character, the author is able to dig a little bit deeper into into Ace’s psyche, and he takes it in a direction I didn’t expect, but was consistent with his manga portrayal.
I just wish I could have seen a little bit more of it.
And speaking of characters I wish I had seen more of, after focusing so much on Deuce and Marine Girl in Part 1, they have a much reduced role in Part 2. In fact, Marine Girl isn’t seen or mentioned even once, which I thought was kind of strange. I guess I don’t see the point in putting so much effort was put into her only for her to be thrown away without even a cameo. Likewise, after spending Part 1 as the principal POV character, Deuce is set aside for Thatch and Teach. Whether that’s a good or bad thing will depend largely on how much you enjoy those individual characters.
Tumblr media
I don’t say this often, but these are books that can be judged by their covers. Part 1, Ace is more jovial—the burning flame that attracts others to his greatness—while introducing two major new characters to his journey. Part 2, Ace is grim and angry—the dark, smoldering flame burning with the desire to destroy the system that would have killed him for being the wrong man’s son—while focusing much more on the Whitebeard Pirates and what makes them great.
It’s an interesting contrast, the two sides of Ace’s character as seen in the manga given a little bit of limelight. But damn if it wasn’t tedious to get through.

Tumblr media
Is there anything Smoker won’t put words around? Yes, there is.
There is the consuming rage fueled by his unquenched thirst to capture more pirates and bring his status of « white hunter » closer to glory. But he reminds himself that perhaps some pirates deserve to be set free as his orbs lay on the poster of Monkey D. Luffy and the letters of the word « wanted » screaming at him. There is the sense of injustice within the epitome of justice, such acerbic poetry, and the cacophony of remorses making his jaw clench every now and then. There is the frustration of acknowledging that there will forever be a gap between his own definition of justice and his superiors’ definition of justice, particularly Akainu’s version which appears too merciless to his own liking.
And there is the haunting torment of being incapable of qualifying properly his feelings.
He knows what anger feels like— he knows how anger bends his body, he knows that anger will push his sanity down a pit and he will have to sit here and observe an unhinged version of himself crawl out of said pit.
He knows what indifference feels like— but he barely realizes that his eyes roll back whenever his superior wishes, yet again, to narrow the notion of freedom within justice, he knows that his brain purposefully decides not to absorb any given information pooling out of Akainu’s mouth.
Smoker knows how his emotions manifest themselves and recognizes them kinesthetically.
But Smoker also fails to identify the newcomers.
« State your name and business before coming in. » It also seems that he has trouble recognizing the five distinct taps of your knuckles on the door leading to his office, but oh well.
Your knuckles brush the wooden surface of the door until reaching the doorknob and twisting it in the process, you close the door behind you, leaving his pseudo orders waiting in front of the door at the same time. « I’m kind of hurt, I thought you’d recognize my secret knocking style, we’ve spent ages creating this secret language as kids. »
But how could Smoker not recognize the sound of your voice and the honey dripping down your vocal cords?
He shifted in his seat, secretly thanking for your presence so his orbs could properly project a different visual than the bland reports scattered across his desk, and he thanked you a second time for allowing him to visually embrace the shape of your body, but he kept that to himself. « Should I give you a reminder of how old we are, Y/N? I’m almost certain we’re way past that age. » Smoker stated, a puff of smoke punctuated the end of his sentence.
« No doubt, you’re definitely past that age. » You trailed off whilst making your way over to his desk, a grin which radiated ill intentions shone brought amongst your facial features. You made a seat out of his desk without asking for permission, Smoker lightly tapped your left thigh in return, a weak attempt to make you get off of his desk. The experience granted by having shared the majority of your life with Smoker offered you the prestige of being free of your own deeds around him, without ever having to worry about pseudo consequences. « But I do have amazing news for you, I’m sure you’ll love it. » You finished, an amused gleam shining in the irises of your eyes at his quirked eyebrow, a silent way to tell you to explain further.
« I’m coming with you and Tashigi on Punk Hazard! Now, now… I know your emotionless self won’t let it show but I know, I just know you’re thrilled to hear that. » You slammed the report proving the sincerity of your words regarding your presence on the mission held on Punk Hazard on his desk in a loud thud, and the proudest grin appeared across your face, just to emphasize that silent victory over Smoker who had always refused to go on a mission with you, but never once did he admit it was because he was afraid of seeing you getting hurt.
Another puff of smoke left his lips, out of frustration, he recognized that he was feeling frustrated because of the way his teeth would hold his cigars a bit tighter, often approaching the limit of breaking them in two.
« You seem so eager to come on Punk Hazard, but I don’t think you realize how dangerous this mission is. » He grumbled, his eyes finding yours lost amongst the metaphorical electricity created in the room because of the tension. Smoker couldn’t quite tell what frustrated him the most— was it the fact that Akainu, out of all people, granted you the wish to come on Punk Hazard? Was it the fact he envied your ability to willingly ignore the magnitude of danger? Or was it the fact you called him emotionless?
Emotionless.
Smoker wasn’t emotionless, see— he was feeling frustrated. But, nonetheless, the words echoed in his head until it lost its meaning. Was he emotionless? No, no, no he was not. Smoker was not emotionless. He was frustrated, frustration is a valid feeling therefore is he able to show emotions. But only now did he wonder if it was genuine frustration.
« I didn’t reach this rank by slacking off, you and I both know it. I’ll see you soon enough, Smoker. »
He found his own answer when you hopped off his desk and left the room, the sound of the door being shut close was his sole wake-up call. Only then did he realize that he had never felt an agonizing sensation of vacuity coursing through his veins when he was feeling frustrated. It was odd, it was foreign, he felt weak. His subconscious screamed at him to associate this haunting feeling of loneliness to the lack of your presence, and for once he agreed— Smoker knew he felt different, in the worst way possible, when you were not around, so he let out another puff of smoke.
This enigma kept him up at the worst moments, and like every enigma, obtaining an answer to soothe the inner pain caused by the latest obsession of his mind was almost impossible. He immediately knew he couldn’t talk about it to Hina, or worse, Tashigi. Either way, he was sure to be met with either a harsh judgement and could already imagine Hina saying « You’ve mellowed ever since we joined the navy, Hina is amused. » or the inevitable stutters cascading from Tashigi’s mouth. Smoker was on his own, drown in the torment of his own emotions.
The sole temporary solution he found was to ignore you, if his body and mind had to hurt then so be it, he couldn’t handle the agonizing pain of seeing you go away, Smoker had mentally told himself to be a martyr and accept it.
You, on the other one hand, did not bother too much about his absence, you figured it was his way to mentally prepare himself ahead of a mission. You accepted it too, both his absence and the inexorable feeling of your heartstrings being bent in unimaginable ways.
Smoker lighted up the fifth cigar in a row now, and once more he blindly trusted the aftereffects of your absence for the cause of this obsession, smoking some more was merely a placebo to soothe the torture brought by the lack of answer. Truthfully, Smoker hadn’t spoken in a while, perhaps he had nothing to say as long as he knew what was going on. He spoke rarely and judged the value of his words before actually speaking— sure, he had directed his subalterns here and there to organize the ship on their way to Punk Hazard, but aside from the obligations of his ranks, he found nothing to say. Or rather, his mind didn’t grant him the ability to talk until he figured what was this haunting feeling which had no familiarity with frustration anymore. But was he emotionless?
Instead, Smoker let the rhythm of the waves crashing against the ship in the darkest hours of the night to rock his thoughts. His hazel orbs never left once the ‘wanted’ posters of Monkey D. Luffy and Trafalgar Law— of course he knew their faces and who they were, but the couldn’t trust his body anymore and wondered whether or not this secret emotional disease was going to affect his memory. Smoker hoped it wouldn’t have any impact on his memories with you, he was willing to let amnesia consume him whole and burn everything he knew except any memory which had your name written all over it.
From that moment, Smoker knew it was definitely not frustration.
« Smoker? Smoker? Earth to big cigar boy? You can go to sleep, it’s my turn to watch over the ship and you kind of look like a zombie if I’m being honest. » He hadn’t even noticed you entered the main cabin and thus he cursed himself for doing so, but Smoker noticed you looked hesitant by the way you were fiddling with your fingers, it was something you always did as a child.
Most of all, Smoker noticed something else— whenever you were in the same vicinity as him, the pain soothed, it faded away to let the most blissful sensation appear instead. Yet another question he will never obtain the answer to.
Using the grip on the armrests as a support, Smoker stood up and headed towards the door to leave you alone whilst you were on watching duty, that was the initial plan : head towards the door and leave. Head towards the door and leave. Head towards the door and-…
« Y/N, can I ask you something? » … And shamefully ask you to ease his pain instead.
You looked at him with a quizzical look painted across your facial features, both at the sudden interpellation, but mostly at the fainted grip he was holding on your wrist. « Sure, I’m all ears. » You replied, curiosity tainted the way your words came out but you kept your eyes locked on his frame anyway.
Smoker took a sudden drag of his cigars to ease his nerve and subconsciously give him a few seconds to organize the isolated parts of sentences shooting in his mind. Truthfully, he didn’t even know if this was necessary given that he ignored how he was feeling or what caused his body to hurt so much, translating this agony into words was beyond impossible. « You have to promise not to tell anyone about this. » He inquired, his orbs adopted a darker tone on the demanding tone coating his words and the hold on your wrist became temporarily tighter, you hummed in response, allowing him to continue. « If I’m being honest, I think I’m sick or have caught some kind of disease. It’s odd and quite impossible to properly be explained. I don’t know what I’m feeling, but it’s manifesting through this constant sensation of feeling empty. It weighs on my mind, and I have no idea what’s causing it. »
You quirked your brow in response, genuinely concerned as to whether or not Smoker was actually sick— after all, as you were approaching the extreme binary climate of Punk Hazard, such possibility couldn’t be evicted. You allowed your orbs to roam over his face, a guilty pleasure, and besides visible confusion, you couldn’t depict any physical symptom.
« Um, right? Do you have any idea when did this start? » You asked, hoping to obtain more hints about his situation.
« I hate to admit it but it started when you left my office last week, and now that you’re here I feel better, as in I don’t feel this emptiness anymore. » He continued, and for the first time in your life, you could admire his emotions dancing under the moonlight. « I was wondering if you felt sick, too. »
« So, if I sum it up you feel ‘empty’ and ‘in pain’ when I’m not around. » You couldn’t help but bend your lips into a smile which you knew he already hated by the ill intentioned looks of it.
« Sort of, but you haven’t answered my question : are you ill or not? » A question so innocent which found its answer in the shameless laugh escaping your lips, Smoker covered your mouth with his palm— not because he cared about the quality of the slumber of his soldiers, but rather because the sound of your laugh was awakening something else in him which was too harsh to handle.
You delicately wrapped your fingers around his wrist, slowly making him retreat his limb to his torso, and to his greatest pleasure, your laughter left an imprint on your facial features in the shape of a grin. « Would you believe me if I were to tell you that I found the cure? » You asked, already imagining the outcome of a possible answer.
« Huh? What is it? » He responded to your question with yet another question, but there and only there he found the answer to his haunting enigma when your fingers invaded his vision field and threw the sole obstacles to the apex of the situation, his cigars, on the floor before stepping on them to extinguish them. And there and only there, Smoker felt peace when your lips crashed onto his in a delicately harsh liplock whilst your palms were cupping his cheeks. It came as a reflex, and he couldn’t blame himself for it because he had fantasized about this scenario several times while hoping it would be the cure to his problems, Smoker caged you against his chest as his forelimbs protectively claimed your waist.
The more your lips were lingering on his, the more he felt every ounce of pain exude his body by his every pores— you were the cure, you were the answer to his enigma and always have been. If his lungs hadn’t failed him, Smoker would have gladly delivered himself into the temptations of your lips once more, judging by the way he blindly chased after your lips when you broke the kiss.
Another giggle escaped your lips as your thumbs brushed invisible motions against his cheeks, « Do you still feel empty at all? » you asked, such a rhetorical question, right? Smoker looked at you quizzically but then it hit him— he felt full, and vacuity had lost sense. « No, I don’t feel empty anymore. » He concluded to your amused smile.
« You’re not sick and never have been, or maybe it’s a sickness to you, but you’re in love, Smoker. That’s what you were feeling. And if I’m being honest, I’ve been feeling quite ‘empty’ myself too. » You confessed and opened your heart to him so he could admire each tone of vivid color painting your feelings for him which caused him to tighten his hold to bring you as close as humanly possible. He had found his cure and needed as much contact as possible. « I suppose you’re right, I do feel better when you’re by my side. »
And here, you planted yet another peck on his lips and gave in to the sweet temptation of savoring the taste of his lips once more. The gleam shining in the corner of your eyes reflected nothing but genuine love, and you knew it was the same gleam reflecting in his own orbs. « I’ve never been more glad to be sick in my entire life. » Smoker concluded, and kissed these words into the skin of the crown of your hair.
That’s when Smoker knew that perhaps he wasn’t emotionless, or at least, he was able to feel emotions as long as you were by his side.

The development of Law’s relationship with Zoro - Part 4: Dressrosa, The Breaking Point (Aftermath)
<<Part I: Before Meeting>> <<Part II: Sabaody Archipelago, The First Meeting>> <<Part III: Punk Hazard, The Alliance (A)>> <<Part III: Punk Hazard, The Alliance (B)>>  <<Part IV: Dressrosa, The Breaking Point (The Plan Failed)__ (Saving Law)__(Protecting Law)__ (Birdcage, Pica and Doflamingo)__ (Aftermath)>>
Even though admiral Issho alongside with his men officially apologized to King Riku and the citizens, the king made sure the “outlaws” were hidden from marines. Straw Hats, Law, Bellamy and Kyros ended sheltered in Kyros’s home where he once lived with Scarlet and little Rebecca. First time in a long time, the allied pirates were together again. In the night, Sabo visited the house, but beside Zoro, Franky and Robin, everyone was sleeping. The four had a talk about Sabo’s past and the best time to leave Dressrosa before marines will attack them.
Tumblr media
Law’s sleep position was much more relaxed and open than the one from the beginning of Dressrosa arc (chapter 794).  Maybe it was just the result of total exhaustion and injuries or maybe Law, after so long of stressing and worrying, finally could relax knowing that A) Doflamingo was in marine custody thus no longer a threat and B) he was safe around Straw Hats.
The available room was small but Law could choose any spot to sleep. Instead, he was shown lying close to drinking Zoro (by frame layout alone, again in between Roronoa and sleeping on bed Luffy, this time without any danger around). Zoro most likely planned to stay awake through the whole night for security measures (he has this habit of sleeping just 3 hours per night after all) and taught by experience, Law didn’t have any reason to doubt that if attacked, the swordsman would protect him, the same as he did during battle.
Law didn’t even bother to pretend he was cautious or wary, he simply slept, trusting allies to take care of their safety.
With Zoro, Franky and Robin being the only one awake, there is a high probability they talked about the latest events. How their fights went, what they learned, what to focus on, what to watch out for in the future with angered Kaido as the next goal on alliance’s list. It’s hard to tell for sure if Robin told others about Law’s choice to stay behind and whether in victory or death, share Luffy’s fate. On one hand, it was a choice made under strong emotions, trauma and even the feel of responsibility for Straw Hat’s wellbeing. A choice made because of very personal matters. On second hand, exactly because it happened under such pressure it was the most sincere side of Law Robin had a chance to see for herself. She and Zoro are the least trusting members of the crew and that night was the best moment to discuss in detail what happened and in the process dispel any remaining doubts about Law as their ally. Both saw his determination and fighting spirit, knew he saved their crew members and kept Luffy out of harm's way despite his own injuries and finally, both had some understanding of Law’s hidden goal in Doffy’s destruction. They may not know the whole truth, just the nature of it, but that was enough because Trafalgar did not betray them. And well, he had the suicide feel about himself what could raise some concerns about him too.
I personally think such talk could happen that night, when memories of battle were still fresh in their mind and everyone out cold beside the three of them. The exchange of information could be another reason for the change in Zoro’s behaviour.
For the three days, the Straw Hat-Heart alliance was left in peace by marines. Once again Law was exposed to Luffy’s antics but this time Zoro acted in a more open way, even showing his more usual irritation at other people’s odd behaviour, including his own captain:
Tumblr media
Interestingly, there is a visible shift in the arrangement of characters positions - during battle it was usually Zoro-Luffy-Law and the dynamic changed mainly in face of danger. Now with upcoming frames somehow Law was put more often in the middle between the other Supernovas. Even though Trafalgar still kept some tangible distance from others, judging by their (not so strictly stoic anymore) behaviour, it seems like he and Zoro were now more comfortable around each other.
Then the navy finally made its move against pirates. Unlike Usopp, Zoro and Law didn’t show any distress. Bartolomeo and other fighters prepared themselves for such an occasion by securing for Luffy’s group a safe escape route. Instead of running away with his friends, Luffy decided to visit Rebecca - now a princess - and confront her about her family matters.
Zoro reminded Luffy they don’t have time, so he better get it done quick while the rest will wait in eastern port...
Tumblr media
and then again, run in the wrong direction.
Tumblr media
At this point, Law may have a good suspicion about Zoro’s no sense of orientation (chapter 797). And who knows, maybe he ran alongside Zoro (on picture below, behind Kinemon and Robin), to make sure the infamous Pirate Hunter did not wander unexpectedly somewhere else… that, or both planned to linger behind and secure the group retreat.
Tumblr media
The fellow fighters came to their aid, keeping marines far away from Straw Hats. At the same time, Law disappeared without a word, to find and confront recently arrived on the island Sengoku (unless he did mention his intention to Zoro, while they ran side by side??). Frankly, the manga did not provide the reaction of Zoro nor any other member of Straw Hat crew to Law’s disappearance, so it’s impossible to say if they were worried about him or simply trusted in his strength to return on his own on time.
Meeting with Sengoku was one of the most important breaking points for Law. As it turned out, the former fleet admiral treated Donquixote Rosinante - Law’s savior - as a son. And for thirteen years did not understand why his beloved son didn’t follow the order to stay away from Minion Island.
“One day… a soldier I knew died. He was someone I cared about, someone who meant something to me. I took him in as a boy… and treated him like a son… He was as honest and upright a person as I ever knew… and a valuable, trustworthy subordinate. But there was one time, just once in his life, that he lied to me. I had been betrayed… but there must have been a reason for it. Four things disappeared in the chaos of that fateful day. The Barrels Pirates, the life of my subordinate, the Ope-Ope fruit… and a boy with White Lead disease who was with the Donquixote Family at the time.”
Law admitted he was the boy and confirmed that Rosinante left his post and died because of him. Admitted also he didn’t know if the way he lived was what Cora wanted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First time in 13 years, Law was assured that there wasn’t any hidden goal in Cora’s decision to save him. The man saw a dying, hurt child with the spark of his brother’s madness and decided Law was worth loving and dying for. It was unconditional love, without any “if” or “but”. The “D.” name and the usefulness of Ope Ope no Mi did not matter. Even stopping Doflamingo meant then little. The only thing Rosinante wanted was to save Law and make him finally free. Sengoku literally told Law to not “attach a reason to the love you’ve received”.
Apparently, english “I love you” does not carry the whole meaning of the original phrase “Aishiteruze (愛してるぜ)”. Rosinante’s declaration was along the “I can’t live without you” level of loving someone (x). Now, after so many years of hiding from Donquixote Pirates, planning and scheming and living just to kill Cora’s murderer, Law finally understood the depths of Rosinante’s love. The breaking point is that: Law at last knows (accepts) he was unconditionally loved and now, is free from Doflamingo for good. He can allow himself to finally live without doubts and regrets the way he wants, without a sense of failing some unknown to him expectations. And I think, to some degree, it is the reason why Law’s secretive / introverted behavior changed into a more open, relaxed act around Zoro and Straw Hats. Because he finally could relax, be comfortable with himself.
Due to danger from admiral Issho, Law couldn’t spend more time with Sengoku and had to run to the rendezvous point. Surprising, no Straw Hats waited for him (in the sense, weren’t shown in the frame). Even more surprising is the lack of Zoro between former colosseum fighters in the frontline of the fight. Anyway, Luffy showed up soon after Law but instead of dodging the blind admiral, attacked him. Because to be Pirate King he must face everyone: Warlords, Admirals and Emperors and beat them down.
Tumblr media
Zoro in general agreed with Luffy’s reasoning (chapter 799) but did not exactly understand the way Luffy fought against Issho, telling his blind opponent what kind of attack he was going to use. The admiral himself was very surprised by that too, but ultimately accepted and even respected Luffy’s weirdness. In the end, Issho managed to send Luffy flying - what happened to be a favorable circumstance for allied fighters. They catched Luffy and despite Straw Hat’s protest, dragged him to safety. Zoro was happy about that too, but for a different reason - he wanted to take Luffy’s place to fight with a powerful enemy. Bartolomeo thankfully managed to stop the battle-lusting warrior.
Tumblr media
Law’s reaction to that event wasn’t shown but once again he had a chance to see Zoro’s insanity when it came to fighting a strong enemy. Zoro and Luffy in that regard were very similar to each other.
Straw Hats-Heart alliance finally got on ship, the Yanta Maria and with the help of people of Dressrosa (who under the pretext of chasing the pirates away, were actually protecting them from the admiral's deadly attack), the alliance sailed away safely.
Zoro and Law's reaction to Yanta Maria was visibly distinctive from pleasant shock of others (open jaws). Zoro smiled, Law, judging by the frown, looked unimpressive. Both their reactions were more quiet and toned down.
Tumblr media
On the ship, Bartolomeo and fellow fighters asked Luffy to drink with them “cups of Father and Sons”, to officially accept them as his underlings.
Tumblr media
Luffy of course refused, because he A) didn’t like alcohol and B) didn’t want to be captain of such a big fleet. Zoro warned his allies they wasted time trying to change Straw Hat’s mind (and to just give the sake to him). Yet the fighters were ready to force Luffy into accepting the drink. Further Luffy’s explanation only confused everyone (beside Straw Hats) even more. Including Law.
Tumblr media
And then Law’s attention immediately turned to Zoro, who, taking advantage of the opportunity, started drinking sake from Luffy’s cup to Usopp’s displeasure.
Tumblr media
Finally, Luffy managed to explain his reasoning:
“If I ever think we’re in trouble… I’ll shout for your help. Then you can come save us! I don’t have to be a boss or a great pirate, right?!  If you’re in trouble, call for us!! We’ll come and help you!!! I won’t forget about how we fought Mingo together!!
And the Seven Leaders admired and accepted Straw Hat’s decision. But since Luffy was all about freedom, they simply followed his example. Whether Luffy liked it or not, they decided on their own to make him their boss.
Tumblr media
Law thus witnessed the founding of the Great Fleet of Straw Hats. And yet, somehow it looked like he was more interested in Zoro’s drinking sake behind Luffy’s back.
Tumblr media
When party started, everyone celebrated their great victory (chapter 800):
Tumblr media
Luffy, like always, was in the centre of everything. Law, though smiling, kept his distance from Zoro and other partying people. But soon after that Law’s personal space was invaded by Zoro.
Tumblr media
The anime expanded this little moment, first showing Zoro approaching Law sitting alone, asking to join the rest. And then, ignoring any protests, just threw his arm around the other man’s neck. Law’s face spoke how much he minded such treatment and had no dignity about that:
Tumblr media
During parties, Zoro always spent his time sharing alcohol with people who fought side by side with him (Paulie, Water 7/Enies Lobby) or actually were his opponents (Braham, Skypiea). Zoro didn’t have a habit of forcing people to drink with him or asking (introverted) person who clearly wanted to be alone to join the bigger group. He himself rarely joined larger groups and usually just sat somewhere far from the noise with a few people around. So, Zoro most likely understood Law's isolation since he used to do so himself. Here though he was the one invading Law’s personal space and not giving a damn if the man was happy about it or not. On second thought, if Law didn’t want to join the others, it made sense for Zoro to join him. In a sense, it could be Zoro’s way to break the ice between them. What is even more interesting, considering the palpate distance he kept from Law at the beginning of the story. The second important detail - Law could easily get out of that situation by using Ope Ope no Mi powers. A simple switch of the places and he would be free for good. Yet Law remained, despite how awkward and/or outside of his comfort zone it was.
We may only wonder what made Zoro act in such an uncommon way. Was that respect for Law forged in the heat of battle? Did it bother him that Law after everything was done, still isolated himself? Did it look like Law felt discomfort to be around people he barely knew or interacted with and who all pledged loyalty only to Straw Hats, thus Zoro decided to keep him company?
Zoro initiating physical contact in itself is an uncommon occurrence. Because as much as Straw Hats pirates  can - and will - invade Zoro’s personal space, Roronoa is not exactly the  type of person open to such contact. Once again, the shift between the beginning (visible distancing) and ending (invading Law’s personal space) of the Dressrosa arc is tangible. Somehow between one and the other, breaking point in Law and Zoro’s relationship happened and changed for good their dynamic. What was seen day(?) after the party (chapter 801):
Tumblr media
Law and Zoro sat close to each other, the previous distance gone. Zoro was reading newspapers, indifferent to his surroundings - instead of facing and observing the Heart captain, like he used to do at the beginning. Both men looked like they were comfortable around each other, even despite - or maybe, because of - the shared (forced?) drink. The change in Zoro’s behaviour is diametrical.
Like was said at the beginning, Dressrosa Arc is one big breaking point. It changed the status quo of pirate alliance and Luffy’s position, from rookie pirate to leader of a powerful fleet. It will lead to the complete dissolution of the Shichibukai system and for good push the main hero into collision with Emperors. For Law alone, Dressrosa was like opening old, still not healed wounds but also so needed a moment of catharsis. He was ready to die there, but was saved time after time by allies. In a sense, it was the final test of how strong the alliance was before facing angry Kaido.
Law changed a lot through the course of action. Or maybe not really changed, but like allowed himself to show hidden emotions and trauma. The cold-blooded, scheming pirate who planned to use Straw Hats crew (and spare his own) turned out to be a man willing to sacrifice himself to finish what his savior started but couldn’t do himself. Who came to believe in Straw Hats, as the ones who made miracles happen. Not only Luffy, but the crew as a whole.
The same as Zoro finally saw Law in hopeless, awkward, sometimes outright humiliating situations (anime extension), Law’s impression of Roronoa cracked too. No sense of direction, insanity to laugh at the dangerous enemy and enjoying the thrill of fight, the fondness of alcohol -- all of this created anew image. This time more flawed but at the same time, more real, human. Despite the flaws and awkwardness of previous situations, both proved to be strong-willed, cool-headed warriors one may rely on in difficult times. Zoro stretched out his hand to him, broke the ice, abandoned the distrust that distanced them for a long time. It seems like Law was finally fully accepted by Roronoa and all unsaid things between them settled down for good.
At the same time, the arc showed their similarities. Both were the quiet ones, the type of people who kept distance from others. The ones with pragmatic thinking in contrast to Luffy’s chaotic madness. Zoro for sure was a helpful presence during running from enemies and meeting a weird fighter after another, especially since he did try to keep his captain in check. That it didn’t work for a long time is a different matter.
Anyway, looking at the beginning and end of Dressrosa arc, there is a visible change in how Zoro and Law acted around each other. How the neutrality changed into something more comfortable.
Here comes things worth examining a bit more.
↪ The Seven Leaders pledged loyalty only to Straw Hat Pirates. As long as alliance between Luffy and Law will work, this is not a big issue and to take down all Emperors, every additional help was good. But if ever those two pirate crews will fall apart, Luffy literally just gained a powerful fleet, thus has advantage over rival captain.
↪ Straw Hats & Heart captain worked together to take down Doflamingo. Luffy of course was the one that finished the enemy, but overall, Luffy’s victory was a result of teamwork between pirates, colosseum fighters, marines and common people. As much as Trafalgar Law was well known as the Shichibukai, Luffy and Zoro were in fact the ones that made the biggest impression on people (colosseum fight, defeating Doffy & destroying Pica) and actually interacted during battle with other fighters. Frankly, both showed their charismatic nature that made people believe in and follow them. Luffy became the hope of the whole country. Zoro was the spark that united people to stop the birdcage and brought Luffy the needed time to recover. Law is powerful and has a reputation and knows how to deal with different people to get what he wants, but he is not really good at interhuman relationships in general. Luffy gains friends on the left and right. Zoro, despite being asocial, rude and introverted person, has the impressive air about himself that often makes him look like the coolest person who is not afraid to challenge everything and everyone; for whom impossible does not exist (destruction of Pica, stopping birdcage). Law… kinda lacks in that department.
↪ Because of the made impression on other fighters, there is a big chance Law may have heard some retelling of the events during the party. Luffy and Zoro aren’t men who brag about their exploits, but Bartolomeo and his companions had a lot to share about battle. With so much alcohol and so many strong individuals that were very impressed by Straw Hats deeds, it seems logical that tales of battle would sooner than later be told. Especially by devoted fans like Bartolomeo. Zoro’s daring plan to defeat Pica and stop Birdcage could be recalled by those fighters who saw it themselves, filling Law with missing fragments of the battle.
↪ Frankly, shonen mangas have this one upside down that the final boss must be defeated by the main hero. Which means that characters who actually could do something useful (damaging) to the enemy are pushed to the sideline. Like Robin, who can snap a person's neck from far away thanks to Hana Hana no Mi. Or Zoro, who could join the other Supernovas in their fight against Doffy (either before Law’s threatening injury or after, instead of stopping the birdcage). Or dwarf princess could heal Luffy for a few minutes to finish Mingo once and for good. It’s not exactly a complaint, because it's the standard formula of One Piece story, but because of such, Law and Zoro were pushed into the background, for Luffy to shine. For most of the arc, Luffy was the main figure in the dynamic of Supernova Trio. They did not interact much in words, but the layout of frames - the character position and background activities - created the feeling of the slowly forming bond between Zoro and Law. Now, after Doffy’s defeat, there is a shift next to whom Trafalgar sticks (Zoro) and Luffy is unnecessary for them to interact on their own.
↪ Law didn’t care how high was the newest reward for his head. In contrast, Zoro was pleased to learn his own increased a lot. Even asked for alcohol to celebrate. What could turn into another moment of  Zoro dragging Law into drinking.
↪ The last detail (though I’m afraid it may vary from one translation to another) is the way Law addressed his allies. Luffy usually was the Straw Hat-ya. The girls were titled as Nami-ya and Nico-ya. Usopp as Nose-ya, Sanji as Black Leg-ya, Chopper as Tony-ya. Unless I missed it, I don’t think Law addressed Zoro directly to use either his name or made up nickname. They really didn’t talk much throughout the course of the story. There is a chance it happened after freeing Dressrosa - either during the three days when everyone waited for Luffy to wake up or during the party, once alcohol was shared. Zoro, depending on translation, called him either Law or Traffy (or similar form of the nickname).
With the chapter 802, the Dressrosa arc can be considered closed. Now, the Straw Hats-Heart pirate alliance sail to meet their missing crewmembers and to prepare for the fight with angry Kaido. How truly comfortable Law and Zoro became around each other will show the next place: Zou.

Monkey D Luffy!
Sexuality Headcanon: Luffy is ace/aro as FUCK. Asexual icon.
Gender Headcanon: Luffy identifies as a guy and he definitely cares about being manly, but his ideas of being manly seem to be based less on him wanting to be a man and more on him just liking manly things because he thinks they’re cool. Aside from that he’s completely gender blind so I doubt he thinks or cares about it much.
A ship I have with said character: What ship DON’T I have with Luffy. He’s the kind of character who can be shipped with basically anyone because he has chemistry with most people. My favourite are probably SanLu, ZoLu, and KataLu, though I’m also fond of LawLu.
A BROTP I have with said character: My top ships are also my top Brotps, but I also love his friendship with Bon-chan, and his relationship with Tama is also really cute.
A NOTP I have with said character: Tama, his grandpa, Dadan, uh, there are so many characters in One Piece god, probably the really shitty villains like Spandam or St Charles because they don’t deserve him. I prefer his brothers as a brotherly relationship. Blackbeard. Oh Akainu for sure, Akainu doesn’t deserve to be loved at all. Most of the other characters are fair game tho.
A random headcanon: Luffy is secretly instinctively good at math but has a hard time articulating it out loud so most people don’t realize it. His culverin attacks in G4, especially as Snakeman, basically require a hefty calculating ability with angles and stuff to be as accurate as they are, and he was able to determine how many meals he missed in an instant when he woke up in Alabasta so canon supports this. He’s really good at judging distances and stuff in general too so it fits in my opinion. But he’s so dense most of the time about other stuff that no one would suspect it.
General Opinion over said character: I think Luffy is a more complex and interesting character than most people give him credit for. A lot of people mistake being a simple person with being a simple character, but there’s a reason why it’s so hard to get a good handle on his characterization when writing him. Part of it is that Oda almost never shows Luffy’s thought process, which leaves a lot of his actions up for interpretation. It also means we can’t really delve into how he thinks like we could for other main characters who tend to do a lot of thinking that the audience can see. Luffy does do a lot of thinking himself, but we don’t get to see it, we just get to see him pondering something before making a decision. He often seems to come to a quick conclusions which makes people think he doesn’t take much time to think, but too many of his decisions had to have been thought through beforehand so that means he does often put a lot of thought in to plenty of his decisions, even if it doesn’t seem like it. He's definitely a quick thinker, but he does think.
One arc that really showcases how Luffy isn’t just a singleminded idiot is Water 7. We get his reaction to finding out that Merry can’t be fixed, where he insists that they won’t ever leave someone behind, that they refuse to accept that her journey with them is over, but then the shipwrights counter that by telling him that he basically has to choose between the ship and his crew, because they won’t be making it to the next island if they keep sailing on Merry. And this obviously hit him hard. Later when we end up in the cabin with Usopp, Luffy has decided to buy a new ship. Usually Luffy makes choices based on what he wants, and does whatever he can to do it no matter the obstacle, but here he’s taking his role as captain seriously, and instead making a decision for the good of the crew, whether he wants it or not. This is where it gets really interesting to me. We the audience know he’s just as upset about leaving Merry behind as Usopp, but Usopp has been through a lot of shit in Water 7, and is blaming himself for losing the money they were going to use to repair Merry, so Luffy tries to put on a happy face to keep Usopp from feeling bad. This is very out of character behaviour for Luffy clearly, he’s never been the type to hide how he feels, but the decision itself makes sense in context. He’s not acting based on how he feels, he’s acting based on what he thinks is best for his crew. That moment, where he masks how he feels because he’s trying to do what’s right as captain based on what he thinks will help the crew and Usopp, is reflected again at the end of the post-Enies Lobby arc, when he wants so badly to let Usopp back on the ship, but he knows he can’t until Usopp apologizes, because he realizes that Zoro was right, crewmembers can’t be allowed to leave and rejoin the crew so easily without consequence if they show a lack of respect for Luffy’s decisions. So he stands there and sweats and is so obviously unhappy about it, but he waits anyways. These sorts of moments are the ones where I want to point at him and say “there’s more to him than just meat and punching things!” We see another good moment at the end of the WCI arc, when Jinbe asks Luffy to go on without him so he can stay and help his former crew. Luffy absolutely doesn’t want to leave Jinbe behind. They finally just got him to join their crew, they just spent the whole arc trying to rescue another crew member, and they’ve had friends die for that cause. The last thing they want to do is abandon Jinbe, leaving a crewmate behind is one of the things he would never be willing to do, but Luffy has to make a choice. He could order Jinbe not to go, but he respects Jinbe, and he doesn’t want to take that choice from him. Jinbe’s former crew is like family to him. But they can’t stay and help Jinbe either, because after everything they went through to get Sanji back it would be an insult to stay when the fishmen are putting themselves at risk to give the Strawhats a chance to escape. The best thing he can do is give Jinbe the order to survive and return. “Even if you die, don’t die.” aka “Don’t let even death stop you from coming back to us.” He tells Jinbe with all the authority of a true king that he is Jinbe’s captain now, and Jinbe is bound to obey his orders. There are so many other scenes I could point to for this topic but these ones are some of my favourites and if I went over all of them this would probably get way too long.
Yeah, basically it bothers me when people say Luffy doesn’t have any complexity as a character, he absolutely does, you just have to look for it. He’s not giving up all his intricacies easily, you have to work for them. I could talk all day about this topic but I’ll stop here for now lol.

i took note of some passages from it that struck me while i was reading it so without further ado here is a small sample of the emotional roller coaster i went on while reading ace’s story: volume 1
“Speaking of family, I’ve got a little brother. Not related by blood, though,” Ace went on, looking toward the sea. “Real loud and wild, like a monkey. I didn’t think about it much when we were around each other, but now that I’m all alone, I’m surprised by how much I miss him.”
He chuckled to himself. So Ace’s family was one brother he wasn’t even related to by blood. And when he thought about him, he smiled.
ace talking about luffy and loving luffy so much is literally the ONLY thing that matters.
“If your dad was the King of the Pirates, I’d understand why you’d worry, you know? Because that guy’s the worst. I mean, I’d want to kill myself if that were the case. But your situation isn’t that bad, right? Eh? So stop acting like you’re the protagonist of some trage...edy...”
number one on list of things you absolutely shouldn’t say to the son of the king of the pirates, deuce, you absolute moron
“Look at the sun,” [Ace] said abruptly. “If I think ‘Man, that’s gorgeous’, but it’s just me all alone, then what does it matter? If nobody else is seeing it with me, what’s the point of it all?”
He chuckled to himself. The sun would be going down in minutes, but it didn’t feel as cold as it usually did at this time of day. Must have been because I finally had some food in my stomach. Or maybe it was having Ace sitting nearby.
my heart’s going to explode out of my chest
“My brother’s a rubber man with the power of the Gum Gum Fruit. It’s pretty funny. His arms stretch out like beeyoiiing,” Ace said happily, sticking out his fist and mimicking his arm extending outward.
Ace was generally cheerful and outgoing all the time, but he was especially excited when talking about his little brother. He truly seemed to care a great deal about him, despite not being related by blood- or perhaps because of it.
Tumblr media
“So I guess the rumor that there was treasure on that island was just a tall tale after all.”
Ace looked over to me and grinned confidently. “I don’t know about that,” he said, extending his hand toward me. “You’re coming with me...aren’t you?”
bros.................................................that’s pretty gay
Through sheer coincidence I met Ace in a place where I shouldn’t have found anyone at all. That meeting saved my life. It seemed to me like this was fate.
I’ll live my life until the end for him, then. A life with no regrets. I’ve gotta be the luckiest man in the world if that’s the feeling he inspires in me.
BRO THAT’S GAY. DEUCE MAN YOU’RE IN LOVE
What quality makes one a captain?
I think it is being loved by others.
A captain is like the sun, shining bright to illuminate dark waters.
You can always spot the captain in the center of a crowd, a person who instinctively brings together people from different homes and upbringings and personalities and ways of thinking. No one who is not loved and cherished by others in this way can be captain.
And Ace was meant to be a captain.
i fully teared up at this so. there’s that
Ace didn’t judge people based on their race or appearance. He judged them by something more important: their heart, their nature. He probably didn’t even realize he was doing it.
this entire novel is basically just like “wasn’t ace such a good boy????? here’s 130 pages detailing how he was an even gooder boy than you realized. now cry bc you remember he’s gone”
Skull sighed and shot me a look. I knew what he was trying to say, so I grimaced and reassured him, “I’ll keep watch over him. If nobody keeps tabs on Ace, he’s likely to go and light some world nobles on fire or something.”
i know everyone with a brain hates the celestial dragons but i like to think that the reason deuce said this is bc ace has absolutely ranted about wanting to light them on fire in the past bc of what happened with sabo
“If you eat food...you pay for it!” I said, like a mother giving a child etiquette lessons, and then I chop-slammed Ace on the forehead.
I LOVE DEUCE and the fact that he actually went and paid back all the owners of the restaurants that ace ate and ran at.........................iconic
It must be an incredible view from the top, I thought. But it wasn’t the kind of thing a grown man could do on his own. Especially not a pirate.
Eventually Ace came back from the food stands and said, “What, you wanna ride it?”
“Who, me? A Ferris wheel? I’m not a little kid,” I snorted.
“You ever been on one before?”
“Well, no...”
“Then now’s the time. We’re here anyway, so let’s ride it!” Ace said. He slapped me on the back.
they literally went to ride a ferris wheel together is this a cheesy romance novel
There were times, now and then, that Ace seemed to believe he couldn’t be loved. And when that mood struck him, a dark shadow passed over his face.
this bit absolutely KNOCKED ME FLAT and i’m never gonna stop thinking about it help.
+ there’s a little review done by deuce at the end of the book that basically recounts ace’s past with luffy and sabo etc and i know that it’s just meant to be for the sake of the reader in case they forgot but the idea that ace has talked about that stuff often enough to deuce that he knows all that about it............... TOO PURE
anyway i cried and i loved it and i love deuce and i need sabo and deuce to meet now and cry about ace together.

somebody wants you - chap 1
First attempt to write about LuNami, one of the ships I love the most!
A quick reminder that English is not my primary language, so forgive me for any mistakes.
And our daily disclaimer: obviously, I don't own anything in One Piece because if I did, Luffy and Nami would already be together. Yeah.
You can read in AO3 and FFNET.
Chapter 1 - fissure
“Why the hell did you come with me, Luffy?”
Nami had been wondering that since the moment she left Sunny. Usually, the redhead tended to do the same activities during the time they stopped to recorder the Log Pose, especially while no fuss was yet to be settled. And as she believed that today would be no different, she thought she’d just need to divide the money between the crew members, say goodbye to everyone and go looking for her beloved clothing stores.
The magnetization would take around forty-eight hours, so it would be enough time for her to enjoy the city center, looking at stores after stores very calmly and still enjoy a little bit of the festival that would happen the other day.
I mean, if it weren't for the captain at her side.
For some reason, Luffy had stated loud and clear that he’d make company to Nami today and that "please, Usopp and Chopper don't cry" ("But they are already crying, Luffy.") because they would definitely explore the island together the next day.
That was an hour ago. Incredibly, neither Robin nor Sanji joined her and only the captain actually remained. Not that she minded spending time with the boy, quite the contrary - discreetly, Nami always tried to take advantage of any opportunities to be with him when it appeared.
After all, when you love someone, spending time together is always welcome.
Yeah. Love.
Not a crush, not an infatuation, let alone an affection from very close friends.
Currently, it was much more than that and Nami would no longer deny it.
The girl has been in denial for so long that since she finally managed to admit to herself that no, all this affection and concern can’t be just friendship, everything seemed to be much lighter. And it is not as if the whole world knew too - only Robin (and for the record, it was not of her own free will) because, let's face it, Nico Robin, unfortunately, is a very perceptive person.
Oh, and a certain pirate woman too.
So, as she knew that her archaeologist friend knew, Luffy's unexpected company could only be…
"Robin! She said that you needed my help!!". He happily exclaimed.
Sure. And in what exactly, Robin?
"I see... and she said what kind of help I needed?"
Nami was facing the fitting room mirror looking at the reflection of a completely electric Luffy running from side to side. As the redhead has been around for a long time, the captain's hyperactivity was nothing new, but she knew that the girl at the store was about to go crazy with so much random yukata that he picked it up and threw it in her hands.
"Tomorrow's festival! She said that you really wanted to go, but that neither she nor Sanji could help you choose the clothes, so she said I could and here I am! Nami, Nami ... look at this yukata? What do you think of this? Look at this one!! It's that-
"BE QUIET!!". Nami screamed and Luffy pouted.
"Namiiii-"
She had no option - she had to hit his head. And it's not that the navigator got angry by the captain's fussiness, but that she knew very well why Robin had suggested it and why Luffy had accepted it. But honestly, she just wanted to have a peaceful day.
She just wanted to have one day without thinking about Monkey D. Luffy.
But okay, Nami is a grown woman. Her times of throwing a tantrum with the boy and being angry because of her own feelings were no more. If fate (Can I also say that fate is called Robin?) decided that today she would have to endure all the shenanigans of her best friend, so be it. She is much more than her unrequited feelings.
Their friendship is much more than her unrequited feelings.
In reality, the redhead never got to confess. Today she can identify that these feelings have always existed since the moment Luffy put the straw hat on her head, but it was only five months ago that she finally realized. Coincidentally, when she met Boa Hancock, the Pirate Empress.
The navigator admits how childish she was - what she deciphered that could have been a serious crisis of jealousy. Nami never thought that she could feel this much jealousy in her life and it almost ended the spirituality of the Empress's visit. Right from the start, the redhead didn't like how Hancock talked to Luffy, how she hugged him, how she looked at him, let alone how she said over and over again that she was going to marry the boy.
This caused her to simply raise hell inside the Thousand Sunny, raging at anyone at any time and even being rude to the woman. Obviously this didn't go unnoticed by the captain and Nami is almost sure that it was the first time that Monkey D. Luffy called her out seriously, which left her feeling so apprehensive and guilty that, in the end, it was enough for her to wake up.
"I don't know what's your problem, but you're not acting normal. Hancock is our visit and she's my friend. I will not let anyone mistreat her, not even you, Nami."
On the same day, the navigator addressed the empress alone, apologized and gave a lame excuse that she didn't even remember, but she knew that the words of the beautiful pirate would be forever marked in her mind.
"I know you don't like me because you're in love with him. I completely understand and don't judge you. But deep down, you know you’re not enough for him, don't you? Don’t get me wrong, I’m saying this it's what I see. He’ll always have to save you and you will never be able to really pay for everything he did, don't you think? Are you sure you could live in such a relationship?"
Few things have hurt Nami deeply - the impotence in the face of the murder of Bell-mère, the inability to save her village from Arlong, the need to discard a good part of her childhood for a greater cause… and now, the words of Boa Hancock. Each sentence felt as if the empress was sticking a knife into her chest and turning. The raw truth of the shichibukai's words remained with Nami in the same way that her tattoo remained on her arm after all this time.
She remembers how much she cried that day hidden in the bathroom after the party for the Kujas pirates ended. Deep down, she knew it was all true - she loved Luffy more than anyone could imagine, she knew that he really always found a way to save her from any situation even if she didn't ask, but that she was always with a heavy heart because at any moment, what the hell would she do if he got hurt irreparably because of her own weakness? She knew it was an unbalanced relationship.
She knew all this.
It hurt to finally stop pretending to herself and at the same time discover that she really wasn't enough.
However, the other day, Nami was a totally different person with Hancock and the entire crew. No more angry faces or snarky remarks - she tried to be as nice as she could, since the empress, despite giving a dirty look at the two women on the crew, did no harm to the navigator. Besides, Nami was fully aware that she was acting like a child just because Hancock was right in all of her observations and all the redhead could do was just accept it.
Besides, it's not like Luffy has any idea what it means to like someone more than a nakama. Nami didn't even have to confess to know that the captain didn't really see her that way. Few words were necessary to confirm this fact and she would be lying if she said that his firm denial about the mere idea of possibly being married to her had not hurt her either.
This escaped from his mouth shortly after Hancock's departure when Usopp and Chopper were messing with him about what he thought about marriage and romantic relationships since the beautiful pirate left no doubt about her true intention with Luffy. One word leads to another and Usopp, incredibly impertinent, asked if he had already thought about this type of thing about his female crewmates.
"Haa? No!! Robin is too old and Nami doesn't always do something fun. I don't think it would work, shishishi."
It really took the redhead by surprise - so much that she couldn't even hit him in the head for being rude. The reaction (or lack of) did not go unnoticed by the Straw Hats, much less by Luffy. He had the usual silly and innocent smile on his face, but when he realized that Nami just stared at him with no expression, the captain became confused and soon he started to panic thinking that his friend would hit him and "please Nami, don't do anything, sorry, sorry"-
In fact, the navigator did nothing. After a few seconds, she merely gave a fake laugh and agreed with Luffy ("Maybe you're right, Captain."), but everyone realized that since then their relationship has changed almost imperceptibly just because Nami was good at lying. But secretly, everyone was trying to fix this "something" that seemed to have been broken in the past few months, but that nobody knew exactly what it was.
Not even Nami knew. She tried to not show anything, but unconsciously, she started to avoid fondling with Luffy's hair (although she is often unsuccessful), tried not to wear the hat anymore when he puts it on her head, started to draw maps more often in the library, walked away when they were to close. Still, she still enjoyed every moment she could have with the rubber boy while maintaining a safe distance between the two. Since then, Nami has been stuck in this duality of wanting to get close, but at the same time to move away.
It's not as if an abyss had formed between them, but there was a slightly open fissure so that she knew where she should be when he was completely out of her reach.
It was also unnecessary to say how much she cried hidden in the bathroom for two days. And that's when Nico Robin found out. Nami really had no intention of telling anyone - it would be the secret she would keep under lock and key. But Robin... Robin was very observant and intelligent. Obviously, she noticed how Nami came back with puffy eyes in those two days that followed the captain's statement.
On the third day, the navigator cried on her friend's lap.
Initially, Nami tried to be as discreet as possible, but something told her that Luffy had noticed and since the Empress's fateful visit, the captain tried to get close to her whenever he could. She got tired of telling the boy that it was okay, that she hadn't been upset, that he doesn’t need to worry, but for some reason, he still persisted.
The funny thing is that Luffy, in one way or another, taught her and showed her several things, including what was a broken heart.
"Luffy, honestly, you didn't have to come. You could have gone for a walk on the island with Usopp and Chopper, no biggie. And tomorrow, I just intended to stop by the festival and go back to Sunny."
The girl sighed heavily as she smoothed the boy's dark hair. Of course she wanted to spend time with him (while not - and she gave a double sigh because nothing seemed to make sense in the last few months), but Nami would not impose her presence on someone who wasn't in the mood to enjoy it. Initially, she felt super offended and enraged every time she thought about how they almost never go out just the two of them during stops around the islands because he always ran to be close to Usopp, Chopper or Zoro, but nowadays she simply accepted that this is how it is.
Deep down, she wanted him to yearn for her company just as she craved for his, but you can't have everything, right? Luffy's friendship is one of the most valuable things that she possessed and she definitely would not lose everything due to selfish desires on her part.
Luffy accepted the pat on his head and just tilted his face expressionlessly.
"You don't want me to stay here, Nami?". His suddenly serious tone really surprised her.
"Of course I want. I just don't want to make you do something you don't want to do, you idiot. I can manage here without any problems. I'm sure you would rather go exploring the island than to look at clothes with me, nee Lu-"
"Would you prefer Sanji instead?". Luffy asked in his characteristic blunt way and Nami was startled again. I usually want your company, you idiot in a hat, the redhead thought, holding on the urge to roll her eyes.
"Haa? I didn't say that. I just meant that you would have more fun if you had gone with Usopp or Chopp-"
"Yoshi!! If you don't mind, then let's continue, Nami!! There are still other yukatas here that I separated- Oe, Nami! What time is the festival? Do we still have time??". The boy opened his eyes comically and Nami held on tightly to keep from laughing. He himself just said that the festival was tomorrow and has already forgotten. It's almost impossible to be upset with you, you fool!
“Calm down, Luffy. The festival is only tomorrow. Let's do this way: you finish helping me choose a yukata for the festival, then I buy you ice cream and you're free, what do you think?”
"Ice cream?? I want ice cream, Nami! Now?"
Another hit on the head.
"Didn't you hear what I just said, you moron??!! AFTER!!”
Luffy pouted and Nami almost gave in but preferred to keep her scowl on. The captain really managed to be uncontrollable when he wanted to.
"Okay, but you have to help me too, Nami! I’ll need clothes to go to the festival and you always say that I dress badly, but I’ll show you that you’re crazy and wrong."
"Are you going to the festival?? Why?? And… c-c-crazy? …CRAZY??"
The redhead raised her arm to beat Luffy up, but he was faster - he threw the yukatas on the floor and ran. But before leaving for the men's store, he looked at Nami from head to toe and said in a simple and cheerful way something she never imagined hearing from him.
"You look very beautiful, Nami! I think this is the best you have tried so far!! Shishishi."
And she could neither answer nor prevent her face from blushing.

♥ Match up for nightrainn2
♥ Completed One Piece Holiday match up for nightrainn2, sorry it’s late but better late than never~♥
Tumblr media
☰ Matched with Sanji
Will show an interest in you upon first meeting you and can even seem a little over bearing or nosey at first, kind of a mixture of flirting and trying to get to know you. Though you do tend to be rather oblivious to romance or flirting towards you so you might not even notice his flirting and may just mistake him for being attentive or friendly.
It won’t take long for him to actually ask you out however; because he is very flamboyant and outgoing and his rather spontaneous way of asking you out you may not take him seriously at all. But if you do take him seriously the two of you could start dating from that moment but if you don’t take him seriously, he’ll ask again another time once the two of you know each other better and will ask in a sincerer manner however neither way will he really seem nervous about asking you out.
Sanji falls for you rather quickly and is immediately loyal and dedicated to you and will be protective over you quickly after the relationship begins. He is very patient and accepting of you for all your positive and negative traits and he is very comforting and supportive towards you especially when it comes to your depression and OCD.
Sanji is also very understanding of the fact that you can be highly sensitive and introverted and will not push you to do things you don’t want to or push you out of your comfort zone, and in fact he can be very protective of you and will want you to feel safe and secure with him.
Which can make him over protective when others try to push you out of your comfort zone or criticize you for anything, and he can even be a little too protective at times by jumping in too soon and not giving you time to stand up for yourself. At times you can try to mask your feelings and hide how you’re really feeling, not wanting to feel like a bother to him however; despite this he becomes very good at noticing when you’re masking your feelings and learns to notice the differences of when you are truly happy and when you are faking it or masking your feelings.
Which he will not push for you to open up and talk about it but he will ask you about it, always wanting you to know that he is there for you, but also because he’ll want you to know that he can see through you and that you don’t need to hide your feelings from him. You do have a tendency to over think and worry about the what ifs in life whether good or bad, you can also feel as though your opinions don’t matter which can make you keep thoughts to yourself or make you stay quiet altogether at times.
However; Sanji is rather persistent about getting you to speak your mind and express your feelings, thoughts and opinions. Often asking “What do you think?” on different situations, plans or thoughts because he does genuinely want to hear what you have to say and hear your thoughts.
You can be lazy at times where you don’t want to do anything but nap and laze around having a relaxing day, which Sanji won’t mind one bit and won’t see you as lazy either and can see these lazy days as opportunities for spending time with you and cuddling with you.
Sanji never judges you or criticizes you for anything and will never find you even the slightest bit annoying, no matter what you do. You can be rather insecure feeling as though people may only be pretending to be nice to you or just putting up with you, however; this will never be the case with him and he is completely devoted to you and will comfort you through any of your doubts or insecurities. You also have a habit of apologizing even when things aren’t your fault which he’ll always comfort you about, hugging you or holding your hand.
He will also be protective over you and try his best to make you happy and he will not want you feeling down or bad about yourself, and he’ll always be there for you to lean on him when needed. Sanji is also very encouraging and compliments you often, telling you how cute or pretty you look or even how smart or kind you are, and will always compliment you and praise you any time he feels like you look nice or did something special.
Sanji is completely non-argumentative with you and will never even raise his voice to you, and will always take a peaceful and calm route in working things out with you if the two of you have a disagreement or issues in the relationship. He is also very polite and respectful towards you, your family and friends because he will want to make a good impression on those closest to you, and want them to approve of the relationship which can make him very nervous about meeting anyone close to you.
Sanji will always put you first and do anything to make you happy and he will keep you safe and protected no matter what, and your safety and well being will be top of his priority list. No matter what happens he will stay by your side through any and all ups and downs and always tries his best to make you happy.

☰ Headcanons
■ Likes being loving and affectionate with you and has absolutely no issues with public displays of affections but also respectful of your boundaries. But can be affectionate to the point of being clingy or smothering at times but will tone it down if he feels like you are upset or uncomfortable with it. He’s completely content with even the simplest forms of affection, and just sitting next to you or holding hands can make him happy.
■ He is a great listener and pays close attention to you and will remember a lot about you, whether it’s about you in general, your past, your favorite things or things you like or things you’ve said including your dreams, goals or places you’d like to visit. He can easily surprise you with the amount of details he remembers about you and things you’ve said.
■ Can get jealous very easily and will always be over protective of you whether in domestic situations or in serious or battle type situations. He can get jealous just from others spending a lot of time with you especially when it’s other guys particularly guys he doesn’t know very well. He’s unlikely to get very jealous of you spending time with people like Luffy, Nami or family of yours, but can when it comes to strangers, old friends or friends of yours he doesn’t know very well or just met.
■ Has a habit of hugging you often especially any time you seem down or upset, but will nearly always find a reason to hug you, trying to encourage you, motivate you, cheer you up, comfort you or even just greeting you or saying goodbye. And while he initiates a lot of affectionate acts with you, he can be caught off guard or even embarrassed when/if you initiate affectionate acts with him first.
☰ Other possible matches
Ace is very loving and considerate towards you and is always respectful and polite with you though he can have a seriously over protective side of you at times, especially during serious or dangerous situations where he feels like your well being could be in danger. He can also be over protective in simpler ways such as if someone bad mouths you or even criticizes you he’s quick to step in and defend you, often times before you even have a chance to defend yourself. Which can make him threatening or aggressive towards people like this particularly if words or a polite route doesn’t work. He is very encouraging and can push you out of your comfort zone sometimes on purpose other times accidentally but he’s always very understanding and comforting towards you and will always put your safety and happiness first.
Shanks is often times laid back and calm and doesn’t get upset or riled up easily which means he is not one for arguments and never even raises his voice to you, in fact he won’t even like for you to see his more serious or angry side. Though he will never hide anything from you it can seem like he’s trying to protect you or shield you from certain situations if he feels like they could be serious or dangerous. He is very loving and comforting towards you and doesn’t mind being affectionate with you in public and especially doesn’t mind when the two of you are alone. He is a great listener and is very patient with you as well and won’t rush you to open up to him, but he will always try to make you feel safe and comfortable with him.

☰ Drabble
It was getting rather late in the evening the sky was clear making the view of the stars nearly perfect, there was hardly a breeze and the weather was warm. It had been nearly a perfect day.
The first time it felt like an actual date between you and Sanji because after all constantly traveling around and being around the others certainly didn’t allow for much romance or alone time between the two of you, which in general was okay you were happy being with the Strawhats.
It made times like this feel special since they didn’t happen so frequently you thought to yourself as you sat next to Sanji on a roof top that over looked a small seaside town.
There were lights and lanterns lit up and as the festival in town continued on into the night waiting on the fireworks display that was bound to happen any moment now.
“Thank you for today.” You said in a happy tone and Sanji looked at you in surprise for a moment before smiling,
“You don’t have to- “he began but you interrupted him
“I know, but I want you to know how much I appreciate this.” You explained, he glanced away from you for a moment then looked back at you raising his hand to your cheek,
“You’re so cute!” he said happily scooting closer to you leaning towards you and kissing your forehead, suddenly you heard a loud boom signaling the fireworks were beginning.
You sat close to him leaning against him and he wrapped his arm around you as the two of you watched the fireworks boom and light up the sky.

Trick or Treat - Part 2
"Let me get this straight…you want us to go trick or treating?" He demanded, crossing his long, tattooed arms over his chest in indignation.
He was met by an enthusiastic nod from Chopper and Luffy and found it hard to judge which of the two was more excited about the whole deal,
"You do realize we're in our early thirties, right?" the Spaniard grunted, sending Sanji, whom till that day he'd seen as sane, a bewildered look.
"Thirties doesn't mean eighties, Law" the chef reasoned, a smirk over his face.
Trafalgar eyed him suspiciously, the gears in his head turning. He knew it! Of course the damn ero-cook had fallen for that Zoro guy! And now apparently, out of nowhere he was ready to play dress up and act as a parent.
The realization almost made him laugh – a mere month ago the French wouldn't shut up about how straight he was and yet here he was, acting like a damn mother to the kid of another man. It suited him though.
He'd never seen Sanji quite so relaxed, so happy. That on its own made the dark thoughts in Law's mind hush and it nudged him to give a chance to Luffy and his best friend.
"Quit being such a prude," the green haired man reasoned, leaning in against the doorframe.
Trafalgar shot him a surprise look, ready to respond but then he felt a warm hand over his own. The contact alone sent something like electricity through him and he stared at Luffy's tan fingers, the way they contrasted against the black ink of his tattoos.
"Come on, Torao, I know deep down you're not boring!"
The surgeon flinched at the word, the way Luffy had said it…it sounded as though being boring was the worst thing in the world.
He glared at the younger man, their eyes colliding. Luffy's eye colour was an endearing dark brown, full of kindness and optimism. Law couldn't help the tiny smile that spread to his lips – the other seemed to have some weird effect over people, as though spilling his own happiness onto them.
"I don't have a costume," he reasoned to which he was met by a smirk on Sanji's part.
"How about you use your scrubs?"
Law was mortified for one long moment, he was pretty sure it was kind of illegal or at least morally wrong to wear his scrubs outside the premises of a hospital.
And yet…he knew the four wouldn't let him go until he was out, celebrating that damn holiday with them and probably looking like a moron while at it.
In the end he sighed, sending Luffy a bemused glare,
"You win this round, Mugiwara,"
 xxx
They went on to explore the town, in search of treats.
Chopper roamed ahead happily, ringing on doorbells and collecting candy. Acting like a normal six year old as Trafalgar mused. Truth to be told, the kid was growing on him, he was fascinated with his innate talent for medicine and the childish curiosity behind those grey eyes.
Sanji and Zoro appeared to argue about one thing or another but their voices were light and carefree and it made him smirk – he could tell his best friend was starting to fall for the guy and-
"So…Torao,"
It was Luffy's voice that cut him away from his thoughts,
"Don't call me that," Law argued, sending the shorter man a poignant glare to which he remained oblivious.
Luffy plastered on a big smile which he struggled not to call cute,
"But your name is just too long," he complained,
Trafalgar huffed,
"That or you're just not the brightest bloke around,"
The brunette grinned at him, completely unfazed by the remark. It made a smirk make its way onto Law's lips – he could appreciate someone having thicker skin. People got offended too easily these days. Luffy's sense of humour, how easygoing he was different, something surprising but fresh – like dipping your toes in the pool the first time after a harsh winter.
"So…this is our first date, right?"
The Spaniard stopped in his tracks, taken aback by how straightforward the other could be. He searched for traces of ill intentions on his face, the task proving to be a little difficult in the dim street lighting.
He found none, Luffy appeared to be the epitome of honesty and optimism, all garnered with the desire to have a good time and take others along for the ride.
It was something rare, almost precious which Law had hardly seen during his lifetime. It made something awaken deep inside him, something he'd thought long dead.
 Hope.
"Hell, why not," he replied, words flying out of his mouth before he could stop himself.
The result was imminent, Luffy's lips stretched into the brightest smile he's ever encounter.
"Great!" he declared, dark eyes now sparkling with joy.
Law was taken aback as he felt a warm hand wrap around his own, this time it was legit handholding. Skinny fingers locked against the space between his own tattooed ones.
He stared at their intertwines fingers, bewildered. Luffy, as per usual didn't seem to notice.
Who held hands on a first date in the 21st century anyway?
"We'll have such a great time!" the brunette urged, voice high and enthusiastic as it soared towards the night sky.
Trafalgar grunted, caught between the joy that seemed to pour out of Luffy and his own rigid nature, his unwillingness to let people in. Generally when he did they got hurt. Or worse.
"Come on, let's go trick or treating in that house!" the brunette shouted, dragging him along in the direction of some poor stranger's house.
Law attempted to protest but all words died on his lips, something told him once Luffy set his mind on something there was no running away from it.
 xxx
"Your son appears to be very smart," a woman with long, slick black hair claimed, stretching out a hand to ruffle Chopper's hair.
The boy blushed madly but smiled at her,
"Thank you, Miss."
She mirrored his smile, her turquoise eyes full of kindness as she put various colourful candy into his basket. Then she turned to Sanji and Zoro,
"You've raised such a good boy,"
The cook felt his cheeks burn, now they were being mistaken not only for a couple but actual parents. The idea made something nice and warm tingle deep inside his chest as he wished to experience it. And yet, he realized it wasn't his place to do it. Chopper was, after all Zoro and Tashigi's son and he had nothing to do with making him the wonderful, smart and kind child he was today. Sanji opened his mouth to correct the beautiful lady before him, when-
"Thank you," Zoro said, lips stretching into a trademark smirk as he leaned in against the door.
Sanji nearly gaped at him, sensing the blush stretch onto his damn neck and even his chest.
"Some time he should come play with our boys, Franky and I would love that," the woman went on, stretching out a tan hand and offering them a little card that read her name, Nico Robin and her phone number, all written in neat cursive.
"Too bad they're out trick or treating now…I might join them in a little while." She added while Sanji smiled warmly at her, already picturing her as someone he'd like to chat with over coffee.
And Chopper too, he needed to find friends, no child deserved to grow up alone. After all, he'd learnt that the hard way.
"We'll call you sometime," he assured as Robin bid them goodbye and they went on with the trick or treating.
The chef hesitated as he stepped in closer to Zoro,
"Oi, moss for brains…you sure it wasn't a problem that she mistook us for parents?"
The man hesitated, the expression over his tan face hard to read,
"Already told you - I've never cared about people's opinions, don't tell me you do, blondie,"
Sanji couldn't stop the smile at his response, even if he wanted to, feeling as though a weight was being lifted off his shoulders,
"Plus Chopper likes you," Roronoa added, voice quieter, "Maybe we should, uh, try going on dates more often." The cook's heart slammed against his chest, damn the bastard for saying something like that so casually, as though he was reading off his damn grocery list,
"As long as it's without costumes," the swordsman went on, the joke melting away whatever trace of tension there was.
Sanji grinned at him, soaking in the warmth their newfound relationship promised.
He leaned in, so close to Zoro he felt his hot breath dance over his own thin lips,
"We might keep the costumes for some other time," he teased, the look of shock on Roronoa's face priceless.
xxx
"You've ever been on a Halloween first date before?" Law asked, voice slightly annoyed as he struggled to find common ground with Luffy.
Truth to be told he wasn't the best when it came to that frustrating small talk dates called for. He much preferred to talk about science and medicine, about things that actually mattered, rather than to come with twenty different ways of complaining about the weather.
To make it worse, he'd never actually been in a relationship. He was no blush virgin by any means, if anything he had plenty of experience when it came to sex.
It was just that usually things began and ended with sex when it came to him. He's pick up some good looking dude in a bar, take him home, fuck and then by morning the bastard would be out of his bed and by extension out of his head.
Law didn't do dates. And yet, here he was on one, dressed up as the doctor he actually was,
"Nope!" Luffy admitted, sunny grin on his face, "I don't really know much about love and what not."
He had a sheepish look on his face, as though he was a flustered teen. He even proceeded to rub the back of his head, like a kid being scorned by his parents.
Trafalgar licked his lips, something about the innocent look on Luffy's space sparked interested in him. Perhaps there was more to what met the eye when it came to the brunette.
"Neither do I," he replied, honest.
The younger man shot him a surprised look,
"But you look…so hot! I thought everyone would want to be your boyfriend."
Law chuckled at his words, unable to neglect the nice feeling his praise offered. For whatever reason he enjoyed hearing Luffy say nice things about him, even when he usually cared little about people's opinion.
"Must be your bad personality then, I mean all you do is smirk and snicker," Luffy went on to joke, sending him a mischievous look. Trafalgar shook his head, way to ruin the good impression.
He sent him a glare, raising a hand for a playful smack on the shoulder. Before he could touch him though Luffy let out an overdramatic (and perhaps girly) scream and ran towards the nearest house.
 xxx
"A doctor and a…pirate?" the owner of the house asked, leaning in against the doorframe.
Before them stood a tall, skinny looking old man with the wildest afro they'd seen a while. He was dressed as a skeleton, going as far as making his face ridiculously pale and bony.
For a second there Law considered that perhaps it wasn't even a costume but then dismissed it – no way in hell was he starting to believe in the supernatural.
"Every pirate needs a doctor!" Luffy declared, as though he knew everything about life in the sea.
Trafalgar shot him a bemused look, feeling a little offended he was being reduced to the captain's doctor,
"Now, come on, grandpa, give us some candy!" the brunette went on to urge,"
It made Law roll his eyes,
"Hey! I'm not your grandpa, don't you see, I'm a skeleton!" the old man roared with laughter, "And don't you think you're a little too old to go trick or treating?"
Luffy shrugged nonchantly,
"Meh, age is just a number, it's the adventure that counts!"
The stranger's thick lips stretched into a smile, a tint of nostalgia evident in his dark eyes,
"That's the spirit!" he encouraged, stretching out a hand and pouring some candy into Luffy's basket, "Mmm, you know you'd make a really good pirate, I should know, I was one once."
Luffy's eyes went wide and round in childish amazement,
"Really!" he gasped, as though that was the most fascinating bit of information, "You should tell me all about it! Here, Torao, take his number, I'll call him!"
Law sent him a glare, as if to convey, are you kidding me, but still did as told, saving Brook's number on his phone.
"And you, the grumpy looking doctor," the skeleton dressed man turned to him, "You'd better appreciate your boyfriend, he seems really nice!"
Trafalgar opened his mouth to protest but was silenced by Luffy's warm laughter,
"Shishishi, you hear, that Torao!"
Law's lips betrayed him, curling into a nice smile, against himself.
"Yeah, yeah. Let's get going, plenty of houses left for you to terrorize."
 xxx
A few hours later and many calories added to their day, they all set contently in the park, enjoying the surprisingly warm October night.
Sanji, Zoro and Chopper looked a lot like a real family, sitting close to one another as they laughed together and took lazy pictures in dim lighting.
The chef would occasionally raise the question of Chopper being way past bedtime but Zoro would brush it away, earning himself a glare. The scene made Law smirk, he could definitely see Sanji filling in the mum role, ever the worrier.
He let out a sigh, allowing himself to enjoy the moment.
Trafalgar looked up towards the sky, mesmerized at the way stars contrasted against the black sky – tiny dots of white. The autumn leaves rustled against one another, creating a soft, pleasant sound.
He closed his eyes, feeling something strangely akin to peace.
Luffy was standing right beside him, munching on the various candies contently. Law sensed his arm brushing against his own and let himself soak in the warmth the shorter man exuded. Literally and otherwise.
There was a pause, a soft silence between them which reeked of familiarity. It was strange, such a rare sight to see Luffy quiet. But it was nice, it felt good and right – as though they had known each other for years and not mere weeks.
Perhaps it was just the way Luffy worked – he was one of those rare people who felt like you knew them all along, who felt a little like home.
"Torao?" the other nudged him in the ribs, taking away from the serene moment,
"What?" Law asked, voice perhaps a little harsher than intended.
"You should let yourself be happy, you know," Luffy said, his tone nonchalant and carefree as ever.
And yet there was something more to his words, some hidden depth Trafalgar hadn't bother to notice. He raised an eyebrow, an unspoken challenge to go on,
"Life's too short for it to be boring," the brunette added, lips curved into a small, slightly melancholic smile.
The Spaniard was surprised his sudden change of mood, suspicious of how mismatched it seemed with Luffy's sunny, carefree personality.
Was there perhaps more to him than he'd let himself see?
The brunette appeared to stare at the darkness right before them but Trafalgar had the strangest feeling he was looking at something else, perhaps reliving times long gone.
"It should be lived without regrets."
The words resonated with him, they sounded like something a man – a father figure, he knew long ago would say. He leaned in against the tree behind him and turned to face Luffy.
His eyes were closed, his posture completely relaxed. The surgeon mused – he could be wrong, but the other seemed as though he was remembering something.
"Sounds like good advice," Law caved in the end, which earned him a broader smile,
"You really came up with those words on your own?" he investigated, raising an eyebrow.
Luffy broke into a laugh, the sound soft and melodic, dissipating into the darkness of the night sky.
It did something funny to Law, melting a piece of the ice he surrounded himself with. He was starting to think, he'd like to hear that laugh more often.
"My brother told me this," he responded after a while.
Law caught something was off in his voice, there was a slight shift in the atmosphere. Blink and you miss it but he still noticed it. He opened his mouth to question him but then –
Luffy shifted, coming closer to him.
He was so close, Trafalgar could sense his hot breath, which smelled of candy, over himself.
They stood like that for a while, staring at each other. Law caught Luffy's eyes, they appeared black in the cheap fluorescent lighting of the street lamps.
The expression behind them was a mix of curiosity and happiness, garnered with tiny flecks of lust.
Law hesitated for a moment too long, caught up between his desire to kiss the man and his own demons who wouldn't let him get close.
In the end Luffy seemed to decide for them both, leaning in and taking his lips.
Trafalgar stiffened at first, unaccustomed to having anyone in close proximity. But as Luffy's lips were on his own, the touch surprisingly warm and inexperienced, he leaned in, melting into the moment.
He bit down on the other's bottom lip, an invitation to let him in which he did.
It was evident the younger man was inexperienced and he even toyed with the idea of this being his first kiss. The thought of it sparked a trace of possessiveness in Law, he took pleasure in the sense of innocence which seemed to surround Luffy.
Law deepened the kiss, pleasantly surprised as the brunette appeared to be learning what to do, how to respond to the contact.
His hands were over his shoulders, then one travelled up, finding its way into his hear. He tugged a little at his shiny black strands and Trafalgar was caught off guard by the sensation, moaning into the kiss.
That seemed to excite the other more than anything so far but in the end they broke apart, taking a deep breath of the fresh, cool night air.
Law smirked as he saw the faint blush over the brunette's cheeks, he truly looked so much younger.
Luffy licked his lips, dark eyes shining with excitement as he scooped even closer. This time Trafalgar didn't shoo him away, his skin craving for more contact.
"See, I told you we would have so much fun!" he exclaimed, taking his hand once more.
"Mm, you might have been right, for once." Law teased, taking strange pleasure in the casualness between them after the kiss.
Luffy treated it as though it was the most natural thing in the world, as though they'd done it a hundred times and more.
"Just wait till you see our next date, Torao,"
                                                    xxx
Author’s Note: Thoughts on Law and Luffy's first kiss? Sanji slowly slipping into the role of a mum? live.
[ao3]
sanji is tired.
Sometimes, Sanji wished he was never born.
He never said it out loud. It’s not something he wanted to voice- not even at himself.
He wanted to keep the thought away, and always.
He didn’t want it to be true.
Sanji often think that he was better off dead. But the idea of death itself has always been so terrifying. Ever since his childhood, he has seen so many wars and destruction- the idea of death is not something foreign for him. Once you’re dead, there was no going back. And that very thought was terrifying.
If he could pick a choice- he would’ve wished to be never born. So that he never had to face the cruelty of this world, to taste the bitterness of it, and never to be a burden. The idea of being a burden was the worst of them all, and he hated it. As much as he hated himself- as much as he hated Vinsmoke Sanji.
The kid was nothing but a waste, a failure, a burden. He loathed him so much. And the child was dead- and so he decided a long time ago.
The idea of death was so terrifying. And maybe, he could fast forward into it by slowly killing himself every time, inhaling those toxinating air from so-called cancer sticks in between of his mouth.
Sometimes, Sanji wondered why he didn’t give up a long time ago, back when everything was simpler.
It would be much easier if he was gone in the early days of his life. His ‘father’ would never have to fake his death, his siblings would be happy, he would never burden anyone.
He would never burden his father; Zeff wouldn’t have lost his leg.
He would never have Zeff’s life on the line.
He would never trouble his nakamas or kicked his captain.
Sanji was tired, and he wanted it all to be over- but yet, he was not giving up. And he didn’t know why.
“You are an idiot.”
Sanji turned. He should have expected that. Not only Luffy, but almost everyone in the crew think of the same thing. But he didn’t expect Zoro to say anything out of his mouth, at all. Apparently, the man was not entering the galley just simply for alcohol. And judging by his serious tone, it doesn’t seem the man was up for some taunting.
The man has always been so stoic, so silent. He was never open up with anything to him. Zoro always had been talking with his actions. Not even the incident during Thriller Bark made the man speak up about Sanji’s self-sacrifice.
“You’re an idiot, yourself.” Sanji replied, couldn’t help to return the insult.
Zoro’s gaze was fixated. He replied after a brief. “You are the biggest idiot of them all.”
“So are you.” There was annoyance in Sanji’s voice. But it was obvious that the man was aware, more than anything- what the other man meant.
He just acted like he didn’t know.
“No, listen.” Zoro said again, this time straighten it out. “You. Are. An. Idiot.”
“You didn’t have to spell it out for me,” Sanji knew, and he didn’t really want to talk about it- or perhaps, he was avoiding it. A little voice in his heart knew he was hurting, he was tired, and he was sick. A little voice in Sanji’s heart told him, he wanted to talk about it, but he couldn’t- he refused to.
Zoro gritted his teeth, “I don’t know what your deal is- or what is in your head, but don’t you ever throw away your life as simple as that.” And he was annoyed, really annoyed.
“I wasn’t throwing away my life.” Sanji clarified. I’m here.
“You were giving yourself away,” Zoro corrected. “That’s stupid.”
“You would do the same.” Sanji managed to spat out, starting to get heated up him. Anger was written on his face- but it wasn’t directed at the other man. It was mainly directed at himself.
“I wouldn’t.”
Sanji had to bite back to refrain saying’You did’, because that incident never happened- that had never happened. He had decided that, and Zoro wouldn’t like to mention that incident. “You put your life at stake numerous times.” Instead, he said.
“It’s different.”
“How so?”
“I didn’t plan to die in any of them.” Zoro replied, calmly. Letting the Cook to comprehend his words’ meanings- because fighting for your friends and dying for your friends are quite the similar idea, but they have different meaning.
“You were pretty much injured.”
“But I didn’t die.” Or planned to.
Losing his words, Sanji didn’t reply anything to the swordsman for that one- he understood. As much as it hurts, as hard at it was- it was never worth it. And suddenly, he was glad he decided to hang on.
Zoro chugged down the bottle at once, putting it down on the table once it was empty. “Looking forward for dinner.” That was all he said as he proceed to leave the room, leaving Sanji alone in the galley. His eyes stayed to stare at the closed door for a brief moment.
It was one unsaid word, but Sanji understood. And he smiled.
“Live”.

Characters : The warlords. All of them. ( aka : Boa,Buggy,Blackbeard, Crocodile,Doflamingo, Jinbei, Kuma, Law, Mihawk, Moria, and that wannabe whitebeard son. Edward Weevil )
GIVE ME A CHARACTER | ( X )
*Sweats* Julie, Why… ;=;
It’s super long and so it’s under a read more also crosses off OTPS bc shit’s irrevelant to my constant shippy ass.
Blackbeard
How I feel about this character:
First thought when I saw him first: Look at this dumbass
My current thought: Look at this dumbass
My probably future thoughts; Ugh, I don’t want to look at this dumbass
I actually; for once, don’t like this character - you might think it’s based off of his looks, ew, never assume I dislike a character on appearances alone. I appear and seem shallow but I’m really not, it’s like a cover. Well disguised cover.
I hate his personality traits.
He acts so high on power; like he’s untouchable and unbeatable but the moment he knows he’s on the losing side, he’ll cry, cower and ask for mercy like the sniveling little shit he is.
He reminds of people I pushed out of my life for a good reason. Weak, manipulative and conniving.
But you know what; the fact that he’s able to will this sort of reaction and feelings - shows that he’s a good character, good at what he’s doing. I can respect that.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Can’t ship what you don’t understand. ( X )
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Death; slow and painful death. And my foot. Up his ass.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Why does anyone like him? (Joking, it’s like how people ask how do I like Akainu and this character - dude chill.)
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Shit himself.
Boa Hancock
How I feel about this character
You know; I can fit a whole lot of shit of words but goddamn I love them - GIVE ME MORE OF BOA, BOA IN LOVE, BOA WHO KICKS BITCHES LEFT AND RIGHT!! Just give me more of her, I know we know a lot about her as it is; but just…
My love~
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Luffy? Like the mushy kind, the lovey-dovey kind and Luffy is oblivious and doesn’t care-kind. I’ll stand by you Boa. (But plz marry me…)
I probably ship them with other girls; give me some and I’m like ‘fuck yeah’
(( ;///; And Kav, maybe, maybe a lot… ))
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Her sisters, the island and crew she rules over and that previous snake princess - they’re all her bros.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I often see she gets shit for being in love with Luffy - the only known character (ofc besides Zoro) that hasn’t shown the sort of attraction to Boa and cares not for who she is but she’s cool because she helps him out.
I find it cute honestly but if Boa kicked my ass, I would find that cute so… go figure. Though honestly a few authors need to write better female characters tbh so… whatever.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Come back to me and in canon! That’s all and also kick more people’s asses.
Buggy
How I feel about this character
Eh not much to say; I kind of don’t like clowns or characters who look like one. But he’s alright
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Himself and a mirror, maybe a bit of Mr.3/Galdino
My non-romantic relationships for this character
His crew. Galdino, Shanks, Luffy - he  can be pretty cool buds with a lot of people.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Uh… For a clown, he’s not very funny. Actually most clowns are terrifying...
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Like others, become relevant to the story line, maybe?
Crocodile
How I feel about this character
Great character, but like the majority in One Piece - overconfident and arrogant, like it’s kind of why y’all get your ass kicked by a boy. Age doesn’t mean maturity or all your decisions are made wisely.
I would like to know more about his backstory, we got everyone else’s because they’re going to be pushed aside but him - he needs his and I’m waiting.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
He’s not a really trusting man; much like Doflamingo - like a lot of these older pirates aren’t trusting either.
No romantic ships for this one either. (Most of my faves don’t have romantic options, fuck love, right?)
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Platonically, there’s very little - I often see Luffy and Crocodile getting along, as well as Daz. Daz can be a little more than platonic though.
J-just everyone wants to screw Croc and I have no understanding why but god, that arrogance and I think I’m better than you attitude is just. Nice!
He fucks everyone at some point, maybe.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Nothing in mind.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Perhaps come back; most likely go back to your villainous roots, maybe? I don’t know.
Doflamingo
How I feel about this character
Fuck boi, fight me, like right now.
No but seriously, I gravitated to this character more than any other in this series - his love for pink, his carefree nature and his controlling tendencies - Like a moth to a flame and I’m willing to burn in hell for them.
I spend the better part of being in this fandom hyperfixated on them, oops.
But yeah, I do that often actually - I base my life around characters to keep me somewhat sane and emotionally stable. Too bad for everyone though, me fixating on him made me more honest, mayde me more egotistical and so goddamn flamboyant.
He teaches you to be you and that’s cool. I love Doflamingo but I’mma slam dunk his ass down a trash chute.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
If you want a romantic ship with this character, well you know - it wouldn’t be very romantic because he’s not the type to let go easily; he holds onto you because you belong to him and well, if you aren’t strong or capable, expect death being your only way out.
(Toxic-ly ships both Kav and Doflamingo)
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Platonically, everyone in his family this includes Law and his Corazon.
Sexually, there’s more than a few actually besides Kav - because of course, I ship Kav and Doflamingo seeing as Kavandria’s story was made with Doflamingo in mind.
Katakuri though… A crackship Katakuri and Doflamingo, just don’t tell my sweet love.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Eh I got none at the moment.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
YOU COULD HAVE PREVENTED THAT SHITSHOW IN DRESSROSA, YOU ASSHOLE!!!! I am so pissed off with how your story just ends like that… I wanted more from you and I was so disappointed.
Jinbei
How I feel about this character
Mm I think I used to think he was cool; not as much. He’s okay.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
None.
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Luffy and crew; along with his own
My unpopular opinion about this character
Too hyped up
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Nothing really.
Kuma
How I feel about this character
Not much to go on about them really; though his objectives is mysterious and I wonder about them seeing as he helped out the strawhats in his own way.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
No one I can imagine.
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Ivankov? People back at the Revolutionary army? I don’t know. I wasn’t really invested in him.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Nothing.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Tell us more about him next time. I’m tired of vague things tbh…
Law
How I feel about this character
He alright though I kind of wish he kept that “I wanna destroy everything” sort of mindset, honestly - the terrible and horrible things he would have unleashed onto this world with his powers, ooh~
Yeah but he’s alright.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Nobody, really.
(Unless it’s Kav ;=; They’re both snarky and would hate each other, which makes it all the more better. There’s a trend with my ships, isn’t there?)
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Platonically, there’s his crew, there’s Luffy tho and Zoro. People here and there, whatever. I’m more interested in his powers and what he could do with them.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Eh, pretty boy - too emo, ugh. Much like Ace, you know...
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Wish he wasn’t a fuckass and was bent on revenge; a man saves your life and then you dedicate your life to kill another a man? For what? Nothing. He didn’t even die, you failed! Boo.
Mihawk
How I feel about this character
Beautiful human being and I think he’s great; only because of Julie (like I never would have thought of him - yeah he was one of the characters I liked because he’s a warlord etc)
But you got me hooked even more ;=;
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Huh, I can’t think of anyone - he doesn’t seem like a romantic character, but I say this about myself and everyone so I’m a terrible judge of character.
Ships them with Kav though.
My non-romantic relationships for this character
Perona and Zoro are like his kids, right? I guess, though I think it’s more like a guardian sort of thing - not parental, he just guides them.
Shanks is another, he complements that quiet guy honestly - it’s nice for those who are introverted or silent to have that one loud and happy-go-lucky friend.
I would love to see more warlord interactions honestly ;=;
My unpopular opinion about this character
Like many, I don’t have like set opinions about characters. It changes frequently.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Please, show up more.
Moriah
How I feel about this character
You know, I don’t say this often - much like Gin and a couple of side characters or antagonists, Moriah has made an impact on me. What affected me a lot is that expression when he spoke about his crew - I can relate, I don’t want to lose anyone important to me and when we do, it’s a huge loss on our psyche and our mentality from then on.
I love him honestly.
He’s lazy, he’s got an agenda and he acknowledges it. Honest, he’s just out right with what he thinks. He’s not physically appealing and his theme is halloweeny, what a weeny. The guy wears fishnet… Amazing!
All the people I ship romantically with this character
No one, really.
My non-romantic relationships for this character
His crew; whomever they were - Moriah deserves to have his friends and crew. A father/daughter relationship between him and Perona.
I don’t know what else beyond that. I don’t think he’s a sexual character; he might seem like it but people and characters can surprise you.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Eh, I never really make fun of people or even character’s appearances - I just can’t do it, because you know… I’m not that terrible of a person. And I know it’s suppose to be, you know, funny but my sort of my fun or humor is like at no one’s expense.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Please, come back? You didn’t die. Also fuck up Kaido, he’s bleh… Reminds me of someone I know and I think he deserves to keel over.
Weevil
How I feel about this character
Ew
All the people I ship romantically with this character
No one deserves to have this man child to care for
My non-romantic ships or otherwise relationships for this character
His Momma - she appreciates him I suppose but only for his power and his dumbness.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Mm nothing in mind
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Probably become relevant at some point, along with other characters too.

hello, i saw the askbo open or so you said by the post, so i was assuming if it was okay to send in a match up request through here? since its a bit long! if not please ignore this.
can i request a male matchup pls?
Im an INFJ slim sagittarius girl with waist long wavy dark Brown hair and eyes, 177cm and light olive skin.
Hobbies: although lately i haven’t had the time (bcs these thing cost time and money which i can’t freely use atm bcs im saving it for a house hahaha.) i like to every often exercise/hit the gym when i have time (although regulated since i have breathing problems) and also judo. when im at home or alone surfing through the internet, watching movies or series. Or take a stroll with friends or walking/playing with my dog.
also going out to eat nice food is always a must - i love food. though that runs in the blood bcs me and my younger cousin are like two luffys, we eat a lot but surprisingly we never get fat… its a mystery (if i knew the formula i would give it srsly but eve idk how this happens). i also like to cook because its fun trying to perfect the recipes and adding flavours and decorating it, but washing the dishes sucks Character: Im a perfectionist and will always try to do my best and its easy for me to get frustrated; i dislike slacking, dishonesty, lying, disloyalty and selfishness.
Im quite honest and will always speak the truth unless i have the need to hide it from problematic people; i can keep a secret if you ask me to and will expect the same; if you break my trust i will not forgive - which is difficult to gain since i many hurt me a lot before, due to bullying and narc abuse at home hence traumas+anxiety worsen it.
I often joke and playfight with those im close to a lot, so i like people who are positive and with good sense of humour: aka memes, puns and maybe light pranks.(for dirty jokes you need friend level 20. XD)
Im a bit emotional and can get pissed off easily or hurt , but since im prideful i keep it all in and do not show it until im by myself (that being said i don’t cry easily, only when i’m at the brink of my limits)
Im also quite theorical (in which everything has a reason behind it/ logic) methodical (everything must have a method) analytical and calculating since i want to be a step ahead and get the truth ou of everything and plan strategies. im observant and study people’s behaviour and expressions a lot, so i can quickly guess why they act in a way, often coming with the theories for everything they do, since i need to fulfill the thirst for knowledge about everything around me .
I am quite independent and dislike clinginess - I always try to do things without help even if im not an expert on it and i need to have my space and get tired of crowds. I also am an individualist and prefer my own style and way of things, i dislike being equal to others (be it in clothes, ideas, although i go for the ‘elegant secretary’ style on work days and hipster outside the office, i honestly dont have queers of my body - tbh all of us should love our bodies bcs they’re precious!! and no one can copy them).
Im in another hand, quite shy and awkward with people i dont know (specially guys, although it has been gtting easier over the years), so i’ll be usually quiet and when people compliment me i usually either try to joke about it with confidence(if i already know them well) or just stay quiet because im not used to being liked.
i’m not one to judge before knowing the person and seeing their behavior, be it whoever they are. although if you have an ugly heart you will not even be considered in my opinion as a human or a decent person.
I also love animals and kids (if you dont like them then you’re not fit for me.) I literally have to stop on my tracks to pet random dogs, cats or whatever i find (it doesn’t matter if its tame or not, i will try to pet it srsly - i petted eagles too before. animals for me are amazing). also i can’t stand a crying child in need of aid even if they’re not my cousins or related - surprisingly maybe bcs i relate to having been abused by my narcissitic birthgivers i can easily know how children feel so i try to give them my best attention at their needs and they often go to me for anything.
abilities: I love languages and i can speak fluently english, spanish and my main: portuguese (im trying to handle italian and japanese atm) though i want to speak more. i also like to draw chibis (pls dont judge) when im bored.
Perfect date idea: i dislike superficiality and people tried to buy me with gifts before, so i quickly realized that i’d rather have people share even just 5 minutes of their time with me rather than the former so for me, as casual as possible and as crowdless as possible, but still fun would do: maybe a night at the cinema or stargazing in the park, a day in the beach waiting for the sunset to pour, or a dinner in a casual restaurant. cuddling under blankets while watching action/adventure or commedy movies also seems like a good idea if both of us are broke lol X’D (as long as you dont make me watch cliche romcons i’m good - and horror movies). Prepare for awkwardness though bcs i look cool but im a salty, awkward nerd.
*bows* thank you so much for your availability for this match-up request.
Sorry about this taking so long, to others that have sent in asks, I’m working on them and should post them soon. On to the match!
I’d match you with Kaku! He’s hardworking and his personality would compliment yours well. While he may have lied to everyone in water 7 for years and ended up being part of CP9 he was the only one that genuinely felt bad about it and wished that he could go back to the life that he had in Water 7. With some patience and understanding the two of you could be a great match.

Give us a short explanation of Kav's story in one piece, to make it easier!
Basically a tl;dr on things I have with the main AU (It’s as short as I could make it ;; I am so sorry but also happy reading!)
Kaowotso de Kavandria comes from a family of World Nobles/Celestial dragons; literally seen as a miracle child among the regal clan because it was predicted that she nor her mother were fated to live through the birth - Though with the effects of a devil fruit, Veledia - Kav’s mother, was able to pull through and have a successful birth.
Kavandria is born; she has side effects from her mother’s devil fruit which would be of some use to her in the future.
She’s often seen as a gifted child among the world nobles, due to her strange powers and her powerful aura/will - she’s hailed to be god among them, hence her epithet of ‘Goddess’.
She grows up believing she is that - a god.
With a superiority complex and with very little punishments of her selfish and often times rash actions; she has no understanding of humanity nor the mortality of herself or those around her. She is the judge of this world and what she says is the law of this world.
(World Nobles don’t seem like they punish their children or themselves in general so there is that as well.)
Kavandria has seen and known death to be an act of kindness; especially from these hands of hers - she’s only ever known to give those she’s grown fond their freedom in one form.
She acts on her own whim in these moments.
Though she spends her days and afternoons looking out beyond her balcony or her door, something out there is calling for her and she isn’t quite sure - her curiosity would get the best of her and she takes up an offer the first chance of finding ‘freedom’ for themselves.
Luck isn’t on her side as she feels; finding herself on a ship - awakening in a empty chest that was roughly handled and she called out, demanding to know where she is.
She’s let out, they apologize and said, “You’re free, kid! I can’t believe we were able to save you from a life as a slave to the Celestial Dragons.”
A false story they believed but Kavandria was still reeling from the suddenness of all of this - all she remembered before blacking out was drinking away the fruit juice she had ordered.
She was given some items and sent on her way; Kavandria did so without another word as she was trying to adjust to this. Whatever this happened to be.
Stranded and alone; Kavandria wasn’t a fool especially with reading things easily - she stayed quiet, covering her looks with a cloak she was hidden and a message within a small little silk bag tied by a string.
“If you want to keep your life long enough; stay quiet.” It was a warning and she looked up, this was the choice she had made and she wasn’t going to turn back now. She couldn’t even do just that.
This is the quick part though - She meets Ace and soon enough Sabo, and as well as the others like Luffy, Dadan, etc. She grows up alongside both Luffy and Ace; as it was believed that Sabo had lost his life going out to sea.
Because of Ace and Luffy’s laziness - her name is shortened as Kav and from there, she discards her World Noble roots upon hearing the death of Sabo by the hands of them. She had the chance of going home then but decided against it.
They grow up, teenagers Kav and Ace falling more for one another and falling into a romantic relationship - they had planned to leave the island when Ace would turn 17.
But things don’t go as planned, Kav choosing to stay another year due to personal reasons she wouldn’t tell Ace just yet - it wasn’t something she would come clean with and said she would follow behind him. He agrees.
A year passes and just as promised, she leaves the island at the age of 18 - Luffy crying as she goes, she hadn’t been around long enough as it is and she’s already leaving. But he understands, her heart is out there on the seas, he can’t stop her from chasing after it and he promises they would meet each other once more.
She finds Ace once more; though I suppose by this time he’s become a member of the Whitebeards and he’s surprised to see her - elated though.
Time passes and there’s the death of Thatch; they go after Marshall D Teach/Blackbeard and things in canon happened as they do.
They meet Luffy and they’re all enjoying their time together, Luffy happy to see his brother and Kav together and doing well!
But before meeting with Teach; Ace would like to make sure that Kav is safe and she wouldn’t leave him or be without him. He did what he could only think of in a split second and that was to knock her out and leave her somewhere safe.
Kav only awakes to see Ace missing and she goes out to look for him but there isn’t word on him; her only means right now is to head back to the Whitebeards.
She finds out about Ace though. The war happens and Kav finds a way to the marineford, she couldn’t go through the help of Whitebeard as he wouldn’t allow a woman on his ship to go to war.
She does; she goes and only finds nothing but a battefield she wasn’t ready to see but she had a goal and she would die trying to see that would become a reality but again...
Luck, this time around, doesn’t play in her favor as she watched the love of her life and possibly her whole world have a fist through him and she lost all control; falling to her knees and finding it hard to keep it together.
She loses it - has a brief moment of a taste of death, weren’t it for her own powers brought on by her mother’s devil fruit. She lives though broken with the death of Ace.
Once on the island of Amazon Lily - Luffy and Kav part ways in a moment of hasty, emotionally-charged words that left both in a rough state. Kav leaves with Law.
Law had no means or reason to keep Kav around though, in some parts of his mind, he could see himself in Kav and let her remain on his ship. If she was ready to, she could jump ship if she ever wished to, but she had to wear the usual uniform and help around if she continued to stay.
She didn’t stay long - there may have been some sexual and romantic relations between though I would say more of the former. Law had no means of keeping a relationship with someone who didn’t see him but someone else.
Kav has met with bad luck and after leaving Law behind - she goes out on her own in the world, meeting a man whom would play her like one of his puppets. Because it was just too easy to manipulate a being who was running from the authorities and from her interesting past.
She’s tied down and bound to Dressrosa, for her own safety and to continue to keep her freedom - she had shown her face to the government and they know Kaowotso de Kavandria still breath because of who she claimed to be at the summit war.
Post-Time Skip - she’s still living alongside the Donquixote family in Dressrosa, where she is seen more as the ‘Queen’ of Dressrosa and the lovely wife of Donquixote Doflamingo. Though whether they are married or not is up in the air.
Doflamingo had his reasons to keep Kav around; besides her power - she too, also had political power through her World Noble title, if she ever decided to come forward and own up to her title. But convincing the young World noble isn’t too easy as he thought.
He also hoped that she would be a good bargaining chip whenever that would come up but it was just too interesting and enjoyable to see them squirm and come to terms who had the upperhand in this relationship.
Having power over another, especially over someone like Kav was just too good to lose.
Doflamingo in the future has also found out some things that, with a little digging, wasn’t very much a well kept secret and he would one day use
-(Still A Work in Progress After This)-
With how Dressrosa ended and Kav’s abilities by this time - she wouldn’t give up Dressrosa to the Riku name, nor would she would allow what happened in canon to come to light.
So canon-wise, all of that is thrown out the window.
Doflamingo isn’t punished of his crimes because Kav finally broke and came forward to take up her place as a World Noble and she stayed with Doflamingo because he threatened to break the bond she had with Ace for good.
So plot wise; Doflamingo finds out of the child between Kav and Ace - that she has tried to for so long, to keep a secret until her grave.
Taavi, the child between Ace and Kav is brought into the plot - though seeing the kid for himself only made Doflamingo irritated and angry, for reasons he doesn’t want to come to terms with
He’s jealous of Ace - even after all these years after his death, Kav still holds onto hope and her love for a dead man. How stupid and foolish, how naive! And he plucks this child from his happy life with his adoptive parents and brings him down to hell with Kav.
Doflamingo and Kav argue and fight - She saves Taavi from Doflamingo as he was acting rash and irate. The fight between them is long and the palace is in disarray.
Kav’s first choice is to run; she has a ship ready and somewhat of a plan to escape... though he warns her, if she leaves him she will always be running. Not from him and not for her either, but the young one in her arms right now and they’ll never stop.
She won’t die or be punished but she would one day have to once more, watch the only thing in her life that she holds onto that ties her to a man she’s loved. The bond that they shared.
He gives her an option - Stay with him, he would provide with the protection of his name and his relations to him or leave, and it would only lead Taavi to his doom.
Once again, she is tied to Donquixote Doflamingo and he has no reasons to let her go - knowing what powers she holds.
