for ship bingo. sugar rush (conductor and cooking cat) :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Don't really ship them romantically but I love the idea of them together hehe! They watch Gordon Ramsay together. She babysits his grandkids. He gives her knives and cutting boards for her birthday. So fun
Also love the ship name ofc. I feel like this fandom has great ship names a lot of the time

i wanted to ask you about some legend of Korra stuff but I know you've said your not a worldbuilding guy so here's my toh ask instead: what is the appeal of camillip (Camilla and Philip)? I'm not asking as a belos hater (I mean I do hate him but more cause I find him un-intimidating- he's not exactly competent) but it's such a crackship. I'm not against it I support most ships so long as pedophilia/incest isn't involved but it's a very odd ship. Same goes for goldric but I actually didn't see as much of that ship like other people in the fandom at the time did. So why do you think people are so drawn to this ship? I know the villain x hero, enemies to lovers dynamic is popular and how there is that corruption vs innocence and bigot in love trope but most people remove Philip's villainy/bigotry? So why do you think people are so drawn to this ship?
So first: I can criticize worldbuilding, I will criticize TOH's after all, but it's just not my strongest suit, especially when it comes to my own fiction. The bigger issue with asking me about Korra stuff is just that I've only seen the first season when it was coming out, and like two episodes of the second, and went "Well, I like the slice of life stuff, didn't like the actual plot stuff and WOW this is bad now. Peace." It's also so long ago I can't actually give any real opinions of my own for something I found mostly forgettable.
Second: I would bet Philip and Camila as a ship actually has nothing to do with Philip being a villain. So a potentially awkward take I have about Belos is that part of why he may appeal to certain parts of the fandom is that, well... He's the only dude with confidence. He's the only one who might ever put his foot down. Everyone else is either too nice or submissive to have a proper backbone and there are going to be fans who strictly don't want that out of the male characters they play with. Belos gives that to someone for TOH and Camila can play against that in many ways. Either you lean into how subservient she is to her daughter's whims and have her second to him, or you have him and her push against each other as peers or you lean into the fact that both theoretically want to temper Luz into being a better human being but have very different ways to go about it, leading to its own push and pull. There's a lot of good, dynamic stuff there just by base personalities.
You also admittedly have another side of him: The Hunter side. Hunter is your edgelord, punk kid with a tragic backstory and as someone who has spent time with Belos enjoyers, one of the REALLY compelling parts about him to them is that he is arguably wronged in many of the same ways that Hunter is. Someone who was raised a certain way and was told by his family to believe in those ideals until suddenly he was betrayed out of nowhere and found himself alone. However, unlike Hunter, the cultural brainwashing actually, you know, was cultural brainwashing and he took the words to heart and committed terrible things because of it. Things he has now doubled down on for centuries as they are all he has to cling to.
That sort of backstory is RIPE for an "I can fix him" mentality and Camila is the perfect sort of character to do that. She is kind, has the patience of a saint, a firm moral code but also a perseverance which means she won't give up. Who better then to pull out the better man in him, the leader and visionary who made the Isles into frankly a damn near utopia besides his one law, than Camila? Mix that with the history he has with Luz, or general conflicts he could have with Luz, and this adds a lot of angst and stakes to anything to do with their relationship.
Camila is also admittedly the only non-squicky option for all of this with him really. I mean... As far as women who are legal go, you either need to age up characters, all of whom should hate his guts pretty vigorously, or you have Camila, Eda, Lilith, Evalyn, Terra, Dora the Explorer or whatever her name was, and Odalia. That's a lot of names... Not a lot of characters. Half of those people are people most of the fandom overlook or just don't really have a character. Odalia loses ALL of the points I talked about here because PURE EVIL according to the fandom and then Lilith and Eda both have big reasons to despise him with every fiber of their being AND they also don't really have the right attitudes to lead to a redeemed Belos, not as a main draw. Camila is the only one with the right storm of traits to tell more sympathetic sides of Belos with.
And that's okay. There's compelling stories to be had there and that's what fanfiction is all about. It is fun to dissect what romance tropes and the like are at play in a given ship though like this, so thank you for that and see you next tale.
======+++++======
Funny enough: I don't think I've personally seen almost ANYTHING of this ship so all my analysis is just off the theoreticals I can see by my knowledge and instincts. Admittedly, I don't see a lot of TOH content in general nowadays.
I have a public Discord for any and all who want to join!
I also have an Amazon page for all of my original works in various forms of character focused romances from cute, teenage romance to erotica series of my past. I have an Ao3 for my fanfiction projects as well if that catches your fancy instead. If you want to hang out with me, I stream from time to time and love to chat with chat.
A Twitter you can follow too
And a Kofi if you like what I do and want to help out with the fact that disability doesn’t pay much.

How many times will you bring insanity (rare pairs/"crackships") into the world, opening my virgin eyes to a whole new universe (the brainrot) I was so readily unprepared for and drag me down into the depths of hell where I can make sense of those twisted visions too???/lh/pos
Seriously, I never knew I needed Teruaoikane in my life. I never knew how fun Natsukane could be. They both make so much sense when you share your thoughts. So much so that I can't stop thinking about them either. You have opened my eyes time and time again and by GOD I cannot close them. Please tell us more about your ideas op
iughyoiuguyfgtuft thank you! Spreading my madness is a passion of mine, I'm happy you appreciate it Anon.

Here are some crumbs of terukaneaoi and natsukane!
terukaneaoi first:
When Teru says he wants to date the Aois, that's what he means, he has minimal experience with friendships and zero with romance, is all new and exciting and interesting. Aoikane on the other hand are very serious about romance, if they accept to date someone is because they expect a lifelong love, a marriage, which has always been more connected to politics than love to Teru. So when Teru accepts dating them, he is unaware he proposed/accepted their proposal.
Aoi can't do her hair well with her numb hand, and Teru is the one to always offer to help, usually giving her twin tails like he does with Tiara and other simple styles. Akane is the one Aoi goes to when she wants something fancy, cause he spends hours learning and perfecting complicated hairstyles for her.
Teru likes to call every hang-out a date, cause it gives him an excuse to dress up, and he rarely gets opportunities to use his nice yet very unprofessional clothes.
They are all weak to combo attacks. If Aoi and Teru want the same thing, Akane will cave in, if Akane and Teru want the same thing Aoi will cave in, and if Akane and Aoi want the same thing Teru will cave in.
Aoi has problems saying "I love you", it feels too heavy no matter how many times it's said to her, or how confident she is that her feelings are returned. She finds it easier to say "We love you"
Natsukane:
Natsuhiko would be stuck in one-sided pining hell for a while and be completely caught off guard when Akane started getting attached. Akane won't even notice his behavior is changing, but Natsuhiko is VERY aware Akane's dismissive "shut up, get out of my sign" turn into him rolling his eyes but actually paying attention to everything he says, and making fun of pickup lines from months ago or teh way Akane doesn't react when Natsuhiko wraps an arm around his shoulder or act clingy either. Natsuhiko is very visibly delighted and emboldened by this.
Natsuhiko is okay with a lot of things frowned upon, like trespassing, flirting with many people at once, hurting people, drinking alcohool underage, and such. He tries to be a 'cool bad guy' to impress Akane but he just gets disgust for his efforts, which turns into worried lectures once they are closer and Akane start caring about his well being
Natsuhiko thinks they are dating way before they are actually dating.
Natsuhiko is very self-centered, his 'perfect' dates and romantic gestures involve things he personally likes and he rarely thinks about his date preferences, but he is not picky about affection, he loves being loved and spoiled above it all. So he'll be shocked when Akane want to go somewhere he knows Natsuhiko loves, absolutely smitten about it.

i feel as though the Gwyn ordeal within the fandom is giving the same as how some people are anti anything to do with the IC or Feysand (Feyre and/or Rhys) because of an unhealthy alcoholic Nesta’s opinion in the beginning of ACOSF and hear me out, the overt sexualization/self insert these “fans” have with Gwyn is giving the same as people only loving unhealthy Nesta because she is a self insert for all of the hatred they have for the series because in their minds it’s now “canon” these characters are “evil”, as though they don’t understand what morally grey means and same with Elain, she threatens specific people’s self insert with Azriel (or the others she’s associated with) the same way the Nesta stans have hatred for Feysand and Cassian because it threatens their “canon” of what Nesta is
(by over sexualization i mean shoving an traumatic SA survivor into BDSM fan art and completely ignoring how closed of and sheltered she still is by the end of the book because of her trauma and being re traumatized especially when she was in my opinion, anything but sexual in the book and rightfully so. in another way it’s feeling the same as people romanticizing Tamlin when he was physically abusing Fae Feyre to the point it would’ve killed Mortal her, they take a canonically traumatic thing and just rip the page of canon text in half while going “haha no, that’s not it silly” and then handing you essentially a fanfic as “proof” for their “theories”/their canon because that’s what it is- ‘their canon’ not Sarah’s. i just mean they’re taking Gwyn’s trauma away to have a character that wasn’t written into the story to serve their own needs as a reader instead of reading a different series the same way they took Feyre’s trauma away to go “awwww poor baby Tam-Tam” thusly taking the abuse he inflicted on Feyre out of him as a character to romanticize him. i don’t know if this made any sense, or if it was a decent comparison, my apologies. i just don’t feel like things would’ve gotten this bad if it was what is was, a crackship and nothing more because maybe then they would’ve at least- maybe, hopefully, been even a little more respectful of Gwyn having been traumatized. coincidentally, all the characters the hate is over, not including the Archeron sisters, are canonically side characters and i don’t why that pisses people off so much.)
The Archeron sisters and bat boys are the main characters of the series. That is clear and is shown throughout the series.
If anyone wants to comment on this post with their opinions of how people treat Gwyn and how they view fanon Gwyn as canon Gwyn, please feel free. In my opinion, Gwynriels depictions of Gwyn are disturbing. They sexualize her and it’s honestly wrong. After what she has gone through, creating art and coming up with “theories” that involve Gwyn in a sexual way make me completely uncomfortable.
Regarding Nesta, she went through a lot and dealt with her emotions in a very unhealthy way. There is no other way to put it. She was harmful to herself and was going down a very bad path. Had Rhysand and Feyre not stopped her, she would have still been going down a bad path and never would have healed. Nesta has also been very mean and rude throughout the series. That’s just a fact. Was there a reason for it? Yes. But does that reason excuse her actions and the way she acted before she healed? No.
I don’t know what you mean regarding the Azriel and Elain part. People could easily read the books and imagine themselves as Elain if they wanted to. Maybe then they would see all the buildup she has with Azriel throughout four books and a bonus chapter. They just choose not to do that.
Again, if anyone has anything else to add to this please feel free in the commets.

First off I love the crackships they are wonderful to think about.
Second, Seth and Jack would be the disaster camping pair. Could be romantic could be platonic. Like they both love being outside and experiencing wilderness, but Jack is just unintentionally the worse camper ever. Just the most accident prone, direction-ally challanged, unskilled mess. But he is always so relentlessly positive no matter what happens and he does know what plants have medicinal properties (he listen to Finn talk a lot). Seth is equal parts exasperated and fond of Jack's nonsense. Jack will just listen to his rants about Mothman and other cryptids like it's the most interesting thing in the world. Even if he doesn't always get it right, Seth can tell that Jack is just earnest when he offer help or advice, and he wouldn't take Seth's bad moods personally.
Jack appreciates that Seth is competent and skilled the ways he isn't, just not intimidated by it at all. He would honestly think Seth is the coolest person he's ever met, and that he was lucky to that someone like Seth would want to hang outwith him given that come from different social worlds. Jack might get himself into trouble trying to do something to impress Seth and be sheepishly thankful when Seth saves him. I did not mean to turn this into a dissertation.
AAAHHH YESYESYEYSEYS
I remember pairing them and thinking hey this could work lowkey...
But like I didn't fully think it through so I didn't know how to say it in words so thank you for this!!!
Also yes Disaster Camp should be their ship name lowkey bc that sounds funny <33
Yes Jack would 1000000% listen to Seth ramble about of Mothman Jack listens to Finn when he rambles this man would sit down and give input when Seth finishes his though so he doesn't mess with it.
ALSO JACK TRYING TO IMPRESS SETH BY DOING SOMETHING DUMB IS SO CUTE LIKE ACTUALLY!!
Seth likes how Jack tries to impress him bc it makes him giggle but Jack...baby boy why did you try and do a backflip-

AU NUMBER 1, COURTESY OF THE SPINNY WHEEL OF FATE SPELLBOUND TRAITOROUS TRIO AU Oh youre all going to love, and hate me for what youre about to know. Alright, to start us off! Yes, this is a crackship, yes, that is their name, yes, i made it myself. BUT HEAR ME OUT- in context of the au! Spellbound is post season 16, when everything has finally cooled down and every other villain that managed to survive the chaos had gone low, including aspheera and pythor, now the two snakes ended up just working together to get the other away from trouble, despite their differences they both had hatred for the ninja, and thats their only fuel for truce.. well, that and they also hated jail, theyre trying their best escaping it.. When then, suddenly, while roaming, they came across their ticket back into civilization.. and perhaps revenge, a spell, a pendant. That can make anyone who wears it stick to your side, good or bad.. But the only downside is, its fueled by affection, and both of them hated it. They weighed their options and decided to take their chances on t h i s, than just constantly living on the run.. this is where wu gets thrown in, both of them have standards, and at the same time they needed the best person to get them immunity from mostly the ninja, so who else but their master? Unlike garmadon the sensei was alot tamer, and easier to kidnap..they found that out after they got him, with rope. Cause lets be honest if theres one thing we know its wu's constant weakness, its rope. So now with this found sensei they managed to get him to talk his way out on jailtime by expressing that they, as in he and the ninja would take care of the two instead. Though the ninja dont even know, as in their knowledge wu had just gone out by himself not realising the trouble he has gotten himself into. But now pythor and aspheera go around the city just 'trying' to be nice to save face.. and also give wu new clothes, i mean with their standards their partner has to atleast be better dressed than t h a t. But as you all can tell, when therye caught, it isnt so pretty..especially if the one who caught them with this little ploy..was garmadon. Is this an excuse to make a silly little crack poly relationship? Oh absolutely, do i regret anything? no, should i make an askblog? you decide, but i wont color it cause i hated the coloring of this drawing alone, now then, go get your bleach <3

We finished season 3 of Bungo Stray Dogs. We are basking in the Wan! episodes before the agony of the next seasons. Cant even find relief in the manga; the manga readers are coping hard in the tags! youre all so brave!
Thoughts so far;
Dazai is a mood. Theres so much wrong with that man. hes suffering. his smile is a knife. All ive seen is the anime and Im kinda desperate for more, so Im gonna have to invest in all the light novels immediately.
Atsushi being told to run away from Akutagawa immediately on sight, and then meeting him 20 minutes later is hilarious imo. he did not run on sight. do you think they tell all newbies that? If it were me I wouldnt have even recognized him. Id forget his name and his face immediately. Dazai wouldve stepped in and Idve been, oh i thought hed be taller.
Atsushi and Akutagawa passing therapy tips and tricks back and forth is great. Theyve been fighting the whole time nonstop. theyve only fought like 3 ish times total so far. theyre already so over each other. theyre fed up. get this guy outta here!
Why do they ask for kunikidas advice and then not take it? its not really a critique, i actually find it funny. its a coin flip. he's right or hes a stick in the mud. Man is coping hard. he cares so much. he cares too much.
I like to pretend the tanizaki siblings arent blood related. not real sure that fixes anything but im coping.
i dont really think i should go read the classics just because im watching an anime, right. Theyre worth reading on their own; im just lazy. but i kiiiinda feel like doing so would give me better understanding of this story? I can tell im missing a whole dimension by not doing so. is that wrong?
I think im gonna have to cave and call Chuuya my favourite character. Every scene hes in is great. there should be way more of them.
Im the kind of person who loves like 95% of all ships. youd be a little hard pressed to find a ship i dont care for. Im usually only neutral at worst. unfortunately skk is has consumed my soul.
calico cat man is trans. or intersexed. cant change my mind.
The americans are hilarious. southern belle. evil preacher. money man. work a holic ability. but theyre not treated as just a joke. theyre all great characters.
when life gives you lemons use them to make bombs.
lemon balm pun?
there are not enough kajji gifs.
I wonder what Jun'ichiros training looks like. He is way too good as a potential assassin to not be receiving any. I wish we could see more of him and kenji
I told my partner about kouyou x yosano. they said theyd sell their soul for it. then they squinted at me and asked if it was a crackship that never meets in canon. I said I have no idea.
Actually the ranpoe ship is SO CUTE. What do you MEAN he keeps trying to write better and better mysteries to impress beat Ranpo? And Ranpo is delighted every time. Ranpo defeats each one and then slips a complement between singing his own praises. do you think Poe lives for it? i do.
tbf Edgar Allen Poe the irl author is actually one of my favourite authors. someday when I have money im gonna start collecting.
Fyodor creeps me out. I know he is supposed to because he is a villain, but i always feel bad about it. I want to like him as a villain more than I do. i think villains should me more appreciated. a well written villain is like nice butter to steak.
I think those are my loudest thoughts so far. Im waiting to hear good or bad news from the manga readers before I start reading the manga. I am much weaker and cant handle the pressure.
anyone want to talk about their favourite parts?

AU MK1 where the two main protagonists are Li Mei and Havik and it gets crackshippy
Tumblr media
So this AU was borne of me having recently started playing MK1, and only just learning that the two characters I thought looked most interesting apparently have next to no real impact on the story.
I don't know if anyone even cares about this game anymore, let alone the story, but here's my dumb AU re-write and crackship on the vaguest, most conceptual level.
Very obvious law-and-order-vs-unrestrained-chaos conflict. No way these two would work together of their own volition, so something drastic would present both with no other choice.
Buddy cop movie but they just stay hating each other the whole way through.
Havik's tower ending where he floods Seido, and both characters' stubborn natures also present inevitable conflict when Li Mei is naturally all like 'hey, maybe don't'. No matter how well they work together over the course of the story, you know it'll go awry by the end.
Why do they team up? What do they accomplish by the end of the MK1 story? I'll be damned if I know. Maybe if this gains any traction, I'll think about it more.
Havik works with Quan Chi, but grows to believe that he has promised too much to too many people. He brings back memories of the leadership of Seido.
One form of motivation for Li Mei to finally join him is the hope of redeeming herself in the eyes of Sindel and the royal family. Naturally, she doesn't tell them about their partnership. Tanya's role as the new head of the Umgadi, as well as her suspicions of Li Mei in relation to Jerrek's death, means Li Mei has to constantly check over her shoulder.
Neither of them are happy about having to partner with the other, but recognise it as a necessity.
Maybe their partnership would be found out later. Sindel sees it as the final straw after the death of Jerrek, and threatens her execution for working with a known terrorist (at least in Edenia's eyes). Li Mei perhaps has to make a choice between disowning the travelling partner who she's come to respect tolerate, or staying with him for the greater good of defeating Quan Chi and Shang Tsung.
The dynamic
Li Mei is about 90% of Havik's impulse control. He looks forward to seeing her losing her cool, just so he has something that he can hold over her.
Havik is naturally pretty ACAB (you go, Havik!).
They take turns interrogating people. Havik tends to be more physical with it. I'd say 'good cop, bad cop', except Li Mei would also start beating them if a) they annoyed her enough, or b) Havik's form was off. She's a stickler for fighting technique.
You're a fool if you don't think Havik pulls the most juvenile pranks on her. When they first meet, he pretends to suffer a grievous injury, pulling off his own arm or something just to be a dick.
The arm acts as a Chekov's gun and he gives it to her as an impromptu weapon in act 3 or something, idk.
Li Mei is a smooth talker with some surprisingly witty reparte when she wants to use it. Havik is not. I imagine it like James Bond suave vs Sergeant Hartman from Full Metal Jacket. ('You'd better un-f**k yourself or I will rip off your head and check down your neck!')
It'd probably end with Li Mei accepting her role as head of Imperial Police, as she does in the tower ending, and she'd be willing to let Havik go, with a days' head start or something like that. Yeah it's tropey as hell, but I love said trope.
Y'know how Darrius just hangs out with Havik in the story mode and has no dialogue at all? I imagine him as also occassionally being there in this AU, and still also not saying anything. Havik is just like 'this is Darrius, he's coming with' and Li Mei, too exhausted to question it anymore, just thinks 'yeah, that tracks, whatever'. Darrius just sometimes nods or shakes his head.
Remember that meme where the person asks out his crush and makes it a group chat that also includes his friend? And the friend is like 'dw bro I'm here for you?' That'd be Darrius.
('Why does Li Mei call you baby girl?' 'Let's change the subject.') Would it get ship-y?
For some reason they could meet with the canon group (ie Raiden, Johnny Cage, etc) and Cage would be all 'I ship it'. Mileena, having to hide her own relationship with Tanya, is surprised, but doesn't consider it her place to judge. Even Lui Kang could be sporting one of those sly, subtle smiles he sometimes gives.
No clue what would happen after the events of the story for now, but would be left open-ended in an eternal state of chase. A sort of grudging level of mutual respect. ('I hate this person, but I'd be damned if I'm going to be chased by / chasing someone else')
OR it's a more tragic ending where he and Rain do flood Seido and we get a somewhat tragic ending between the two where Li Mei reverts back to hating him, and also herself for thinking he had any humanity to him.
In other words, you're damn right it gets ship-y. They're called crackships for a reason and I've caught the bug.
What shall we call it? Law and Havoc?
Anyway, verbal spray over. Maybe when I see more of the story I'll come up with more ideas. Sorry for any repeated points, I was desperate to get this all down. I'm off to stew over this some more for now.

Today I am analyzing Thingol’s death.
Húrin- poor Húrin! - is the one to bring the Nauglamír to Thingol. Originally he gives it to him in scorn, to shame him for his treatment of Húrin's family and for setting the quest for the Silmaril which claimed Finrod's life. Thingol, filled with pity for Húrin, restrains his anger and does not respond. It is Melian who tells Húrin that he is wrong about how Thingol treated his family and he is speaking with the "voice of Morgoth."
So Húrin, under Melian's Girdle, is at last able to understand the entirety of what Morgoth has done to him. He then gives the Nauglamír to Thingol again, this time in sincerity, and in part "as a memorial of Húrin of Dorlómin." He then leaves, probably to take his own life.
I wonder if Morgoth's curse over Húrin contributed to Thingol’s demise soon thereafter.
So Thingol is looking at his new necklace, the greatest treasure of Finrod, and he thinks that it should be remade, and set with the silmaril. FASCINATING. Okay, so, it says that as the years had passed, the silmaril dwelt more and more in Thingol's thoughts and he "became bound to it," and wanted to carry it with him always, even as he slept.
The implications of this!!! I mean, if you want you can interpret it as a natural consequence of owning the only piece of holy Tree-light not being worn by Absolute Evil himself, but I'm not inclined to go that way, are you? I do think that the silmarils are more than just pretty jewels. Whether they actually contain a part of Feanor --
--crackship, Thingol×Feanor, love affair started via silmaril proxy--
--or not, I do think that they have some sort of sentience, or resonance, or something. They are more compelling than any other jewel could be. It seems like their influence grows over time, though I don't think that they are evil or cause good people to do bad things. I think everyone who held a silmaril made their own choices.
That being said, Thingol has a little less culpability in his death than I'd thought (according to this text; of course, the biases of the silm are a different discussion).
Thingol hires dwarves to restore the Nauglamír and set the Silmaril into it
The dwarves were immediately filled with desire for both the necklace made by their forebearers and for feanor's jewel, but they "dissembled their mind" and agreed to Thingol's terms
The work took a long time. Thingol would often go and sit among them while they worked. (I viewed this very favorably at first but then remembered that at this point Thingol is loathe to be parted from the Silmaril!)
When they finish, the greatest work of elves and dwarves has been united, and the Nauglamír reflects the silmaril's brilliance outwards.
Thingol, alone among the dwarves, picks up the completed necklace and starts to put it on.
The dwarves stop him. They "demanded that he yield it up to them," saying that he has no right to it, since the Nauglamír was made for Finrod, who is now dead, and only came into Thingol's possession through Húrin, who they call a thief.
Thingol "perceived their hearts" and knew that they wanted the silmaril and were deriving a pretext to get it. (I'm inclined to agree; if they really thought that they had a greater claim to the Nauglamír, they could have said so at the start. It is no accident that the claim is only made once the silmaril is affixed to it.)
Thingol does not stop to consider that he is alone among these dwarves. There is not a single thought of tact or strategy. His anger comes through and he calls them an "uncouth race" and "stunted people" who have no right to make demands of him, and to get gone from Doriath.
So they kill him there where he stood, and he dies with his eyes fixed on the silmaril.
The dwarves try to flee. Some escape but some are slain by pursuers. The survivors spread their version of the story, which is that those dead were killed by command of the elvenking, who sought to cheat them for their work.
This is, in fact, the version I best remembered. For some reason I had forgotten the rest of it. Thingol's anger and pride are his downfall. I wonder what would have happened had the silmarils gone to the dwarves; a slaughter of one sort or another between them and the feanorians, I suppose, but it wouldn't have been a kinslaying.
Following Thingol's death, Melian undergoes a change. In this time the enchanted river Esgalduin "spoke with a different voice." I can't help but remember Mirkwood's enchanted river. If anyone knows anything about the effects of Esgalduin and how they change at this time, please let me know!
Concluding thoughts: Thingol died the way that he lived... being racist to non-elves. <3 Okay, I'm done being flippant. Tbh it is very sad to me. Both the dwarves and Thingol are afflicted by a lust for the Silmaril. The dwarves try an underhanded trick to get it, and Thingol regresses some character growth in response. Thingol's character arc goes from: "under no circumstances is my daughter marrying a human lol might as well go get a Silmaril bc the likelihood of success in either case is the same" -> ":( :((( shit shit shit oh no oh no you weren't supposed to go DO IT. okay i can see that I fucked up. I'm going to foster this little human boy (Turin) about it and grow past my racism. I'll even keep my cool when his dad comes and hurls untrue accusations and slander at me bc i can see how much he's suffered." -> "how dare you speak to me, an elf, this way? You stunted uncouth less-than dwarf--" [death]
Actually, in that light, Thingol's next step is to adopt a dwarf. Gimli better watch out when he gets to Valinor.
I feel for thingol bc he saw his own flaws, worked to improve, and then backslid in a moment of high temper that turned out to be HIS LAST MOMENT ALIVE. (You could argue that anti human bias isn't the same as anti dwarf bias, but the underlying issue is still his pride.) It's just a shame.

SIDE 2A: ROUND 2: Megaman (Megaman)/Pit (Kid Icarus) VS Selina Kyle (Catwoman) (DC Comics)/Loki (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda for Megaman/Pit:
This ask, which includes the art used in the bracket image!
Oh my god. This one came immediately to mind. Idk how big the ship is now, but I remember like seeing it everywhere back when Super Smash Bros Ultimate was like popular on Tumblr/Twitter. I think it was originally a crackship cause both of them were in Captain N (a cartoon), but it’s like a serious thing now. Literally all it took was one interaction between them (there’s like dialogue you can get if you do some combination when you play as Pit) which is just Pit gushing about Mega Man. It’s cute. And honestly kind of iconic
#MEGAPIT ?? good for them #go back in time and tell kid me the ship he came up with on a whim would be in a tumblr bracket :'3
#megapit sweep!
#megapit nation let's pokémon go to the polls #let's give it for a wholesome and iconic crackship
#MEGAPIT NATION RISE. RISE. RISE #MEGAPIT
#MEGAPIT!!!1!
#MEGAPIT NATION RISE UP
#c'mon megapit nation #sure they may lose but let's get them some votes anyways!
Propaganda for Selina Kyle (Catwoman)/Loki:
Two not quite villains who will never be content as heroes despite how much their friends and family would like them to be. They can sass each other and steal things together. In fact, Loki, being old as most artifacts, can claim that anything they steal technically belongs to him through some convoluted story that may or may not be true. So they've got this game going on with Batman. If he catches them, the museum can keep the object. Otherwise, Loki gets to keep "his stuff" and no one bothers them to avoid an incident with Asgard. It drives Batman up the wall. Loki and Selina are two beautiful Neutrals with a dash of chaos. He adores her and she loves his mystery and pizzazz. They bring out the best in each other. The Joker is dead and Loki has taken over his turf as the Crown Prince of Crime Alley. He sits on his ice throne with his darling Selina, finding new and vicious nonfatal ways of dealing with those who try to usurp them. They might intervene if they hear someone is doing something evil enough, so if you want to get rid of your enemies, feel free to snitch. Selina and Loki both think the other is sexy. Selina loves that Loki isn't quite evil but she doesn't feel bad for stealing when she's with him. He makes it fun. Loki loves that Selina has given him a chance and doesn't have grand expectations of heroics from him. That he doesn't need power to keep her.
Reasons why Batman does not like this ship:
-Selina knows Bruce Wayne is Batman, and by virtue of that fact, so does Loki. To keep things fun and remind the other rogues he's still a "villain" Loki likes to kidnap Bruce once a month and demand Batman come and rescue him. It's very annoying. The other Rogues assume Loki does this since Batman and Catwoman used to be a thing. Really Loki just thinks it's funny that Bruce can't escape without ruining his whole "Brucie" image. It's also a great way to clear a fancy restaurant and have a private date with Selina when she's called to "talk him down" until "Batman" shows up.
-Loki doesn't know how to drive. Selina has decided to teach him. And since Bruce is a family friend, she has decided that means she can "borrow" his cars any time. Bruce has lost track of how many times he's left the office to find his car isn't where he parked it. Loki is a madman on the streets. So ofc he gets pulled over a lot. Never fear! He just magics him and Selina to look like Bruce and his latest girlfriend. Bruce is this close to getting his license revoked.
-Loki and Selina wait until Batman is about to head from his patrol to rob the museum. They've made a game out of it with a point system and everything. Thankfully they only do it on relatively quiet nights to make sure the gets his steps in.
Reasons Batman likes the ship:
-Selina is happy. Really happy. She lights up whenever she's with Loki. Loki just melts in her arms. Any idiot could see they're in love. They banter and flirt with each other everywhere from the grocery store to the middle of a high speed chase.
-He knows Loki would tear the world apart for Selina. He would face down Thanos all over again if he had too.
-Any villain stupid enough to interrupt their date night will be swiftly returned to Arkham.
Reasons Robin likes the ship:
-Selina and Loki are going to adopt his best friend Colin Wilkes.
-Loki and Selina protect all the animal shelters.
-Loki and Selina are always down to help him sneak animals into the manor.
Reason Robin does not like the ship:
-Loki and Selina are firm believers in PDA and Damian is at the age when cooties are very much still a thing.
Lovely art~!

I don't understand why people think Aang was being condescending toward Katara in the southern raiders episode. Even one toxic ZK shipper thought Aang was coming to her with a "My way is the only way" mentality. Even before I was a Kataang shipper I knew that Aang was showing nothing but concern.
Also, Zuko wasn't trying to gain Katara's approval out of romantic interest (I mean that's pretty damn obvious but I am trying to make a point here) Zuko trying to gain Katara's approval parallels him trying to gain his father's approval. And it's lovely, Zuko realizing that gaining Katara's approval would be more worthwhile than his abusive father.
Also at the end of southern raiders Zuko brought Aang to Katara so he can check up on her...
Aang even compared Katara's fury and pain to the one he felt when he found out he lost literally everyone he had ever known - one of the many times he went into the Avatar State, something he tried to weaponize and KATARA was worried, told him not to, and told him that it was too painful for her to watch him give into his grief. It's almost like that was a deliberate parallel or something...
And in what world was Aang EVER like "My way is the only way"? If anything, he had to sacrifice nearly everything to do his duty as the Avatar - a duty he never asked for, wanted, or saw himself as capable of doing right.
But I guess that the simple of idea of "A 12-year-old boy, who on top of being a child was also raised as a pacifis doesn't want to kill people, doesn't want people to kill each other, and definitively doesn't want to see his best friend murder someone" is just too difficult for people to grasp, especially when they WANT him to be a bad person just so they can go on and on about how their crackship was actually totally meant to be.
And you did well to bring up that Zuko brought Aang to check on Katara. It's almost like Zuko isn't really that close to her, or wasn't even her friend at all until that scene, while Aang was the one she has known, been friends with, travelled with, and fought side by side with when things got rough FOR MONTHS.
It really says a lot about how Zutarians don't really have any faith in their own ship. If they did, they wouldn't feel the need to straight up lie about events of the show, deliberately try to cast anything Aang does in a bad light, and never shut up about the few times Zuko had any kind of positive (or at the very least not hostile) interaction with Katara, while ignoring all the times Aang showed he cared about her both as a friend and as the girl he was into, AND all the times Katara showed she LIKED Aang's attention, affection, company, and yes, honest advice, regardless of who was right or it not being what she wanted to hear.

question from your dndads gift exchange gifter: how do you feel about nark? And glenn x morgan? (Idk if they have a ship name lol)
:D Oh hello there!
💜 Glenn x Morgan is cute! It’s not a ship I’ve found myself going out of my way to look for but you’re more than welcome to include them! 🥰 I quite like what we’ve seen of them In canon. Idk if they have a ship name either but I recently saw one of my mutuals suggest “Morglenn” and I mean that makes sense to me LOL.
My feelings surrounding Nark are a bit complicated to be honest with you! The thing is like, honestly, I *like* the ship (especially certain flavours of it)- but really in both Nicky and Lark’s cases I have other ships for them that in general I’m much more interested in tbh… In Nicky’s case Grant and Sparrow, in Lark’s case Grant and Terry… <- I suppose the loophole to be derived from that is that if you put them in a three-way sorta deal with Grant I’d accept it quite graciously LOL. Otherwise *taps pinned post but also my AO3* I’ve got a bit of a funky little crackship with Sparrow and Cassandra going on, so if by some very slim chance you were playing to that, I could definitely entertain some Nark beside it. I mean, that’s just good flavour!
🤔 I suppose the gist is that despite actually kinda liking Nark (and certainly appreciating plenty of the fan works for it ooh boy), I’ve a bit of an aversion for it in practice, mostly because I just don’t care for a kiddad shipping scene that’s too homogenous, particularly when I am in perpetual rarepair hell lol.
Sorry for the confusing answer love! I don’t want to give you a hard “no”, but I hope I at least cleared up my feelings on the matter a bit? 😅 I’m very bad at being brief about things that are interesting me, and ships are very fun to talk about lol.
:3 Thank you for asking, that’s very considerate. Feel free to hit me up with any further questions!

Re: Non-canon ship/crackship ask game. Johnny Gage and Meredith Grey (Grey's Anatomy). It did say they didn't have to be in the same universe. :33
Oh dear lord why.
(if this finds more Grey's fans than just the one here who knows what I'm on about anyway: Meredith as of late season 2. Also don't come for me, the fucked-up bits are what make a character fun)
So Johnny is a bit of a shithead who never quite manages to draw the connection between women (dateable) and women (people), while Meredith is a frequently selfish, impulsive and self-destructive stack of issues in a doctor's coat who has a tendency of dating people out of spite/filling the bad empty emotional hole/etc.
Brilliant combination! 10/10, no notes.
(lots of notes, actually)
I feel like she'd be pretty willing to be fawned over in Johnny's usual, "this is how dating works, right??" shallow kind of way. His customary "she's incredible!" - that he always pulls because he has no idea what he actually likes about the people he dates, and "she gives me attention and is pretty enough to be a good status symbol" is beyond his level of self-reflection - would probably get turned into a nice bit of angst and spun as "he's just a paramedic, and, as such an un-enlightened being, is incapable of seeing me for the true, monstrous, damaged mess I am". Such a lovely opportunity to actually take Johnny's bullshit at face value simply to be miserable about it.
Meanwhile, Johnny's gonna be stoked about having a pretty, successful girlfriend to show off for once and getting to rub his dating success in everyone's face.
Practically made for each other, these two. Neither of them is there because they actually like the other person.
But, yeah. You'd probably get a lot of Johnny monologuing at her and enjoying her monosyllabic and noncommittal answers because that means he doesn't actually have to do any honest interpersonal interacting, while Meredith has a lot of disparaging and self-punishing internal monologue going on and isn't actually listening.
I'm not sure what'd run out first - Johnny's resources for taking Meredith out to halfway decent dinners, or Meredith's friends' patience for her bullshit; either way, in the end both of them squarely blame the other for the end of the relationship, Johnny refuses to spend more than two minutes at a time in the hospital for weeks, and Meredith pretends to not see him when he does, except she pretends very obviously.
Drives everyone nuts for a very long time, until they both find their next horrible idea.

Swingers aren’t a bad thing tbh, swingers are just couples who sleep/date/swap partners with other couples
I do think Elmer/Blame is pretty normal if you don’t interpret/hc them as potential siblings/father and son (depending on which angle you approach it, I approach it neither way duh)
I’m personally of the opinion that (IN FICTION) age gaps between characters over like- 20 stops mattering? (Again- IN FICTION. In reality age gaps stop mattering entirely after like- 25 or maybe 30), but I get it (though I don’t think Elder/Eldest Elmer being called that gives much indication of his age since it literally just means he’s the oldest of a people who have incredibly (artificially) short lifespans- like most Elmers probably don’t make it past 30), and tbh- I also hc all Elmer’s as aspec (specifically most Elmer’s are gray-aroace in my brain), but I also think E! Elmer is an outlier of Elmers? I still think he’s aspec (in every way) but I think him living longer and clearly having gained emotions and all that shit allows him to care a little more about exploring his queer identity and become interested in things more (like I hc E! Elmer as more masc leaning in their orientation and gender, maybe even just fully gay lol, whereas all other Elmer’s are pan-oriented and fully Agender in my brain)
But yeah! I think they have such a cool and interesting dynamic and I love them both and I love how fucking fed up E! Elmer is with Blame but also he always seems just a liiiitttle bit endeared by him
Additional crackship: Eddie and Arlo. They’ve never met each other in canon but I feel like their relationship dynamic would be FASCINATING. It’d probably be juuust a lil toxic because they’re both big personalities with supreme anger issues and probably argue a bunch about who’s TV show was better, but I feel like they have such a deep understanding of each other that no one else will ever understand, and they probably get high as shit and cuddle and watch kids shows together and relive the childhoods they never had together <3 :)
WE’RE STARTING ANOTHER THREAD RN TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BRCU SHIPS YOU FUCKBOY
Okay so we have the obvious, right? Worstthrustovan, a girlboss, her husband, and their boyfriend/bodyguard
Then there’s Bryce and Gloria who tbh I’m starting to lean into them being romantic in the past but their relationship slowly turning into a QPR (there’s definitely a mix of platonic and romantic feelings there, they flip flop on whether or not they’re girlfriends or not, it’s very complicated)
Then there’s one of my personal favs that doesn’t get enough attention, LadyBryce! If Gloria was Bryce’s sapphic awakening, Lady was her confirmation that HOLY SHIT WOMEN ARE HOT. Their dates are just Bryce killing another CEO and them both stealing a bunch of shit- they have such good vibes and such a good dynamic, it’s great (they definitely arrange swingers parties so their husbands also have something (or someone) to do while they’re busy)
I have more but we’re just starting with the basics (aka Bryce shipping lol)

In your opinion based on their dialogue, is there something romantic going on between Inui and Koko? I don't know if ppl shipping them is misplaced or not, if there is any merit to the romance rumors between them.
Fun question! My stance is always "people can ship whatever they like", canon or crackship or anything in between, without need to prove or explain a single thing, or justify it as a "good choice of ship". Shipping is a fandom activity for enjoyment, that's all it is. Let's ship and let ship, hell yeah.
That's where I start from. But let's get into InuKoko, absolutely!! It's a hella good subject.
In short and simple: yes! There has always been a strong romantic aspect to their story, overall. Things going on between the two characters that unquestionably involve romance. That much I can say, since it's factual in script, presentation and progression.
Tumblr media
Romance is the basis of their plotline, after all. What I mean by this isn't how in love they are, in what form, whether it's a good or bad thing, much less where exactly they stand now and what's gonna happen to them - none of that. What I'm saying is that it is a storyline that happens because Koko had a romantic interest in Akane and then in Inui, kickstarting everything from their individual growth lines, to Koko's involvement with the Black Dragon gang (which wouldn't have happened had he not decided he'd follow after Inui exclusively), to their place in the overarching Tokyo Revengers plot and the struggle they're currently solving. Everything is where it is with these characters because Akane died, because Koko kissed Inui, because they stuck together all those years, because Koko wanted to follow Inui anywhere, because Inui did so much impulsive stuff for Koko as "the person he'd die for" too, because Inui didn't think Koko had gotten over Akane and kept himself closed to communication, because Koko decided to act like money and success were his life and left for Kanto Manji Gang, and now, because Koko is realizing he's been cowardly and that what he wants for himself IS Inui. All throughout, this has been built on the base of a romantic element.
(From there, one can discuss and voice opinions to their liking about whether Koko's way to approach Inui was misguided, healthy, toxic, awful, tender, messy, a good thing to do or a bad thing to do; and whether the bond that came from it is misguided, healthy, toxic, good, bad, etc etc. But it is a thing that's present there, has always been.)
As for the current stage of the story, chapter 252 and all that… I mean, I realize your question probably IS referring to this current time haha, I just find it important to clarify the type of story we're already coming from, with those two. But for what's right now, since you're welcoming my personal opinion on this…
The language and narrative framing around "I will forget Akane, I'll give myself to Inui" is saying enough, I think, considering this is a man he made physical moves on and was emotionally very involved with. The words are pretty straightforward! It reads like a direct contrast between old feelings and new feelings, in which, ultimately, Koko's feelings for Inui (however people may judge them) are what he chooses to pursue. He's finally come to terms with that. And Inui, well, Inui has been waiting for him to come around for a while now.
That's the way it reads to me, dialogue and full context of the manga considered!
Again, though, regardless of where Inui and Koko end up and what's stated or left unstated about their relationship, we ship and let ship in this house. Thanks for the question, and feel free to chat more about it anytime!

Jonsa metas be like: Extended Cut
The miniature rant version
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah. We’re getting tons of romantic content in that corner. Totes. What else is the purpose of Jon Snow’s resurrection? Or rather, what even is the other purpose for Jon Snow’s existence, if not a prop to make their innocent-compassionate-empathetic af precious birb a Princess/Queen/GodEmpress?
(if they could have their way she’d be ascended to Godhood at this rate)
Tumblr media
69? That's your foreshadowing? You wanna convince people your ship's canon based on a mfing position number? What are we, middle schoolers?!
Tumblr media
My remaining two braincells cannot handle this poetic parallel😔😩✊🏻
Tumblr media
Ok real talk folks.....what’s in that kool aid kid?
Tumblr media
Listen, after pulling crap like this, you all have no rights to defend yourselves when we rightfully call you out on this. Absolutely none. No amount of mental gymnastics can justify this.
Tumblr media
Presenting to you 🥁🥁🥁 Quotes by Jon comparing his first love to his sister🥁🥁🥁:
“She reminded him a little of his sister Arya, though Arya was younger and probably skinnier. It was hard to tell how plump or thin Ygritte might be, with all the furs and skins she wore.”
“"If you kill a man, and never meant', he's just as dead," Ygritte said stubbornly. Jon had never met anyone so stubborn, except maybe for his little sister Arya. Is she still my sister? he wondered. Was she ever?”
...... soz there ain’t any about Sansa. I checked in the back and all I promise.
And, hate to break it to ya but, remember Catelyn of Houses Tully and Stark? Yeah, she kinda, y’know, carried the zygote that grew into a fetus over a period of nine months and pushed the said fetus out whom they named Arya. Half of her mother, half a Tully. Thus, half a fish. Pretty sure there’s even a fish reference that jon made towards Arya regarding her swimming.
Tumblr media
............So?
Tumblr media
Let's give this a serious consideration. Firstly, lemme get this lil point out in the open: foreshadowing is wildly different from coincidences. Coincidence is there being a Jon(nel) and a Sansa in the same time period in the family, just like the current generation. Parallel/foreshadowing would look something like this:- Jon, who's the half brother of Rickon, just like Jonnel was to Cregan's heir Rickon, would marry the older daughter of Rickon (my son my boyyyy <3<3<3) in a distant future. Capisce?
And finally, the icing on the cake. My personal favourite 🙂
Tumblr media
Look, it's bad enough that the writer decided to pepper in cursed bits throughout the books that make an incestuous pairing highly likely. (by incest i mean the emotional aspect of it, it's not the cousincest or the aunt-nephew bit that peeves me off. It was a common occurrence in the medieval feudalistic society and is still prevalent in today's day and age). At the end of the day, they grew up as siblings. Fighting over which sister gets the “prize” that's Jon Snow is ridiculous beyond measure. We didn't start off reading these humongous books thinking "oh this would be a splendid time to ship an incest otp uwu" like no. the only reason I didn't break into tears every time Jon had a very non fraternal thought while reading is because i knew by then, for sure that they're cousins and not siblings (y'all either never had siblings or think fictional siblings work on a different wavelength). Take it up with the author, demand why he chose this sister and not the other for his fOrbiDdEn rOmancE trope. Grab him by shoulders and shake an answer out of him. None of us asked for this ffs. We reached to a conclusion based on what's there in print, not what isn't and simply assuming that there are hidden meanings or that the narrator is so fucking unreliable that he's naming one and thinking of the other or something equally delusional. Dude's literal last thought was Stick them with a pointy end. Which, by the way, is strictly between Jon and Arya, just like Needle. Just like the quote "Different roads sometimes lead to the same castle". And "What do you know of my heart, priestess? What do you know of my sister?" They're all exclusive to them both and them both only.
To all of these asoiaf experts, I'd like to say one thing: For all of his flaws and fallacies, G.R.R.Martin is a brilliant writer. He's not some stupid Oracle of Delphi, sitting in his little ancient greek cave and spewing nonsense and talking in circles. Writers leave out clues in the open, not hide them under the guise of different fucking names for gods sakes.
I'm all for shipping whoever you wanna ship, gods know i have a never ending list- most of them being rarepairs or crackships. But I don't go around twisting canon into something it isn't and subject to mental gymnastics to the point where nothing makes sense anymore. And, read the bloody books before you firmly place your faith in something. Quora/Reddit/Tumblr metas shouldn't be the basis for it. The language is pretty straightforward- if I, a non native english speaker can get it, then so can you.
Cheers.
