Lately, I've been really missing WoW. I miss going to the Dreamgrove and vibing in my cat form. I miss the same comfy vibes I had as a kid when I first played TBC and Wrath. I miss the lore and all the druid quests to get the different forms. It felt like a world. With pretty good lore. I ended up having to leave right before MoP came out.

I came back to the game a few months before DF dropped because I felt like I'd have an awesome time. That the vibes were returning to how they felt when I was a kid. They didn't, and I felt a bit farther away from what I wanted but I really liked playing as my druid. I found a guild I vibed with (through roleplay!) and I ended up becoming an officer. Eventually things went sour in the group and I felt like everything was gone. The nostalgia I had never came back to me. So I quit a while ago.

I find myself missing it and I almost got it again but I stopped myself. If I ever do return, I feel like it will be to get back into either Wrath or Cata when they release it or if I have an income that'll allow me to play. I'd like to roleplay but I never really found people in Classic Wrath.

You know, considering how many posts I recently made about Movie Peach and how negative they are, there’s something I feel the need to clarify since I wouldn’t be surprised if people had some assumptions and I don’t want words I didn’t say being put into my mouth (Tl;Dr at the end):

As a completely original character, fully detached from everything other than the movie, I have no issues with Movie Peach. She’s badass in a fun way, spunky, has a few cute faces, and I especially appreciate how despite being a strong female character stereotype she’s very supportive of Mario and builds him up rather than putting him down, it makes her likeable and their relationship very cute.

And yes, this is the way I perceived her from the get-go, but only mentioned it in my movie reaction post made all the way back when said movie came out, hence needing to say it again now. To quote that post: “Least favorite character is DK. It could’ve been Peach but my issues with her stem from how different she is from her games counterpart. If you take her movie character as a brand-new character rather than a game adaptation, she’s actually pretty great as a guide and strong mentor.” And while there are things in this post I now disagree with, this part remains my current opinion.

So yeah, as an original character, she’s pretty great...but that’s also the issue.

Movie Peach is not an original character. She’s supposed to be an adaptation of a pre-existing character who already has her own personality. And as an adaptation, Movie Peach fails at every level. Not only that, but several dialogues keep hyping her up in a way that comes off as Illuminations looking down on Games Peach, you know, the character their own Peach is supposed to be an adaptation of.

That’s why I take such issue with Movie Peach. It’s not the character itself, it’s how bad of an adaptation she is. And if I did my job correctly, every single time I talk negatively of her in my posts, it’s about her as an adaptation specifically. The only instance of me being an ass for no reason is in my table comparison post where I call her a dumbass, which I point out in the tags to be me throwing shade and not something I actually believe.

Now I also want to say that I hate Movie Peach for what she represents and the consequences of her existence on Peach’s character and her perception by the public, so to keep it short I’m going with bullet points:

It annoys me a lot that a multi-million dollars company couldn’t be bothered to adapt her character properly, especially since they apparently closely worked with Nintendo and the concept art very much show them who Peach is as a person (the one where she’s encouraging Mario to fight DK reminds me of the 86 Anime where she keeps having Mario fight her battles while powerless to defend herself; also it’s funny how in the art of Games Peach reacting to Movie Peach it’s obvious the artist had no idea what personality Movie Peach has). The fact she’s a favorite character of mine doesn’t help and makes me feel robbed from seeing a beloved character on the big screen for the first time. And obviously them low-key insulting her by hyping up Movie Peach makes it worse.

Even before getting into the fandom I knew that Peach isn’t the most well-liked character, with many gamers especially finding her bland and boring. This was already sad on its own, but now those same people are praising a character who’s completely different from her for being “so much better” or “finally giving her a personality”. It sucks. Games Peach deserves better than that.

With those things in mind I don’t think I need to explain why the fact this characterization is possibly bleeding out into the games is something I dread. Now I can live with a cover art change, but if they change her actual character I’m going to scream. Especially if they only do it to Peach and no other character. And yes I know some people also pointed out a possible direction change for her voice but 1. for some reason I don’t really care, possibly because she’s been through quite a lot of voice-actors already 2. we only clearly hear her voice in the Showtime trailer during the Kung-Fu part so maybe her voice will differ depending on the costume, it is a stageplay after all, and 3. the Wonder short with Bowser has her let out four noises, one of which has a different tone while the other three keep her usual high octave, so I’m not sure if they truly intend on changing her voice. Haven’t played Wonder yet tho so I can’t speak to all her other voicelines.

Hopefully this will be my last post about this outside of answering asks and reblogs as I’m always open to discussions/debates. I don’t like bringing negativity and especially not drama to my blog but, considering the extensive rant I made about this, it only feels right to make sure people don’t misinterpret where my issues come from, since I can absolutely understand people seeing my posts and concluding that I hate Movie Peach for who she is rather than what she represents.

Now, instead of being negative about Movie Peach I’d rather focus on being positive about Games Peach, mostly through the fics I’m working on.

Tl;Dr: Movie Peach would be genuinely great as an original character but alas she was put inside the skin of someone with a completely different personality from hers. And it's very hard to look past this given the consequences of Movie Peach's existence on how people percieve Peach as a whole now on top of a possible change in her games character.

Last year, a lot of people were concerned about Monster Energy exiting Mercedes. A lot of people were concerned and immediately got blamey-blamey on George regarding what happened (insert "oh that tory twink will chase out all merc sponsors ewww" kind of shit)

I honestly think that Monster Energy leaving is not something to worry because:

-We're not like the Yamaha Monster Energy MotoGP team, they're not TITLE sponsors. They're just like any other Mercedes sponsors. They've been there since the beginning but their presence doesn't really define what Mercedes is because Mercedes doesn't brand Monster Energy clearly unlike Yamaha on MotoGP. Mercedes' title sponsor is Petronas and I would've worried a LOT if they left because Petronas and Mercedes have a strong connection in F1. Mercedes has always been defined with the Petronas green and they've branded themselves with Petronas' colour for years so it'll create a significant impact on the brand image. But Monster Energy? Not really.

-I've speculated about Monster Energy leaving tbh? Since when I did my research for my GR63 paper, I've noticed that GR did campaigns for most of the sponsors but I never saw a ME campaign on his instagram (except that one soft selling campaign of George drinking from ME bottle then tagging them) as I did my research nor he follows ME's acc too (joked with my friend on how he doesn't follow ME but follows RB Energy Drink lmaooo). Dk what happens but guess they just don't click (image/brand rep wise) or simply don't have time to work w/ each other? (Do tell me if ME collaborated with George in the past)

Why did they leave?

Mostly the reason, other than drivers' vibes/image/brandjng would be either rules and regulations changes in the contract or financial matters. I've heard someone mentioning Mercedes is putting some expensive prices for brands to put their logos on their liveries/team kit.

Each team demands $$$ from their sponsor as an agreement. Those $$$ can raise as the team valuations raise. Mercedes might demand a lot of money as they are one of the biggest teams in F1. They could demand a lot that only a small percentage could afford and would pay for it and in this case ME might not see it as worth it. For example: Petronas started with a $30M deal in 2010 and they now allegedly paid $65M-75M a year to be the title partner of Mercedes and Tommy Hilfiger allegedly paid ±$4M a year.

Conclusion : It is very normal for sponsors to come and go even though Mercedes seems to commit to long-term sponsors more. But it is not something to be concerned about except if it were about a principal/title sponsor of years or even decades leaving the team. So there is nothing to worry about. As we enter Georgecedes era, sponsor/PR/comms dynamics in Mercedes will shift a little to fit in George's branding (as he is going to be the number one driver)

Hiii I'm getting into svt recently and my fave part of getting into groups is finding out their dynamis. So far I've heard that jeonhan and Joshua r besties and so r mingyu and minghao idk if I'm not looking at the right place but i guess I didnt think they were particularly close?? Do u know who's the closets in svt? Or the ones with the best and fun dynamics

omg hello hello!! tbh all of seventeen are really close, some just tend to be closer “on camera” vs “off camera” if that makes sense??? fans tend to really hyper-analyze some relationships more than others which is why you hear about them more often but really all of seventeen are super comfortable with each other 🥺 in general though these are the pairings that are often picked out as being super close:

jeonghan and joshua: as you pointed out these two are very close!! they’re often called the “evil twins” since they often join forces to gang up on the other members a lot fdjkalf (i made a gif comp of it before) i think also in their earlier days they were often mistaken for one another

mingyu and minghao: mingyu and minghao are definitely the “artsy” duo of the group lmao they have really similar interests when it comes to art and fashion and stuff. i think they used to be called the “tom and jerry” duo because they used to bicker a LOT fajdsklfalksf but they’re definitely super close i mean just look at this post. all of seventeen’s families are close but mingyu’s family in particular seem to have adopted minghao to the point minghao will hang out with mingyu’s dad but not mingyu fdasjkldfa

mingyu and wonwoo: wonwoo is pretty often cited as mingyu’s “favorite hyung” lmao these two are also super close and they pursue their interests in film/photography together. wonwoo talked about this a lot in his monotube interview (don’t mind me subtly promoing my scan blog)

jun and wonwoo: i guess they’re not as obvious on-camera but these two are often mentioned a lot?? they’re basically “the cat line” and they often room together when they go abroad. they strike me more as a duo that share really comfortable silences with one another

jun and minghao: china line bros!! obviously since they’re both the only chinese members they’ve naturally become SUPER close since they can speak in their mother tongue with one another. they often talk a lot about how they have “opposite personalities” but it’s perfect in that they each make up for what the other lacks.

also not intending to sound like a shipper here but in line with above, mingyu x wonwoo x jun x the8 are often called the “love square”

hoshi and dk: basically the life of the party duo lmao they always seem to be on the same wavelength and bounce off each other’s impromptu jokes really well. they have this ongoing skit in particular where they act as old grandparents

seungkwan and vernon: basically the ‘98 line hahaha i don’t really have anything specific to say about them but they’re definitely really close, probably one of the more “popular” pairings that’s a little more lowkey/behind-the-scenes-feeling if you will. you can find a lot of video compilations about their friendship

hoshi and woozi: another sort of “opposites attract” pairing LMAO woozi acts like he barely tolerates hoshi most of the time but it’s clear they’re really close. hoshi seems to hang out in woozi’s studio a lot and in general i think woozi has been teaching hoshi more about making music/recording (e.g. that horanghae song)

if you want a more “fun” dynamic, also seungkwan and dino. basically they argue a LOT lmao they clearly have like actual tense moments but they come out of it stronger as a result. their bickering is really funny though and gives us stuff like this legendary rap battle

jeonghan and dk and jeonghan and hoshi. these aren’t actually like “popular dynamics” but i’m putting them here because they stand out to me bc jeonghan seems to hang out with these two in particular a lot LMAO i think they’re his favorite dongsaengs. jeonghan REALLY loves teasing dk (there’s a lot of moments but can’t think of any specifically to pick out right now unless u want me to), and for hoshi, dino was pretty adament in this last gose episode about hoshi being jeonghan’s favorite

jinyoung and mark are my biases, my ults actually <3 and yess i'm keeping up w/ their solo projects even more than before 😭 it's so jdjdkdkd. 2017 was the year i started listening to kpop and around that time or lil later i came across ' you are ' this song is so dear to me i loved it in first listen, its lyrics i love its lyrics sm i made everyone i know listen to it dhjddk yet i didn't dive in deeper bc i was caught up with other group at that time but slowly I started watching their content from 2018. it's like got7's been w/ me since the start & at the same time not </3 but look, lullaby and more importantly spinning top came and everything changed with that album it's so goood from then i started keeping up with their music and check their cbs. i knew jype was meh even when i didn't stan them but i didn't know to what extent, i only got to know after 2019. so far it's all so good and i hope it stays like that. all of their different companies treat and promote them nicely 🥺.

with svt it was instant love i got to know abt them during march 2019 ig, their songs grew on me so fast and boom by the time may came i was a carat, with got7 it was gradual love, it increased lil by lil it's nice but i do wish i could've stanned them earlier. the only cb experience as an official birdie i have is nbtm and last piece 😭 anyway both of these groups are very dear to me not just musically but emotionally too. i love them very much 😔.

bad stuff (that's not really even bad tbh) first:

toad and peach's introductions felt very, very rushed in and i wish they could've given more time to the mushroom kingdom downtown tbh

all the toads being the exact same kinda irked me but that's been a nintendo problem for at least a decade now so. i don't necessarily blame the movie for that

not enough bowser or luigi. i wanted MOAR (but what we got was awesome)

i feel like it didn't devote enough time to fleshing peach's backstory out? like what she mentioned was super interesting and i hope it comes back around full circle in the sequel if it happens

some of the line reads from fred armisen could've been better, he sounded kinda bored (also more of that dk and mario parallel could've been done)

i would've liked to see more peach on her own, they gave her a really interesting setup but she kinda just falls a little flat compared to mario and luigi and doesn't really get a lot of scenes just to herself

peach was already a badass but they cranked it up to ten here, and it's really nice they didn't go "i'm not like the other girls" with it. what i love about peach is her kindness, bravery, and compassion for her people! they nailed that

illumination did their homework, none of the references or sight/audio gags felt out of place

the score is so good holy shit that end credits theme fucks so hard

illumination didn't do any of the usual annoying shit! no real pop culture references outside of nintendo, no annoying side characters, no bland or boring protags, almost none of it felt like an illumination movie and that fucked

love that they kept mario and luigi in their usual clothes throughout the movie WITH a realistic explanation as to why they dress like that in brooklyn. it made them fit into the world around them while still being visually distinct (that being said seeing them in casual clothes more would've been cool)

they did mario and luigi's relationship perfectly. when they hugged and mario cupped luigi's face in his hands so lovingly... goddamn. they love each other so much!! they're such good brothers!!

there were so many deep cut references, i definitely was not expecting the eel

what they ended up doing with the kongs was hella interesting even if it was the part of the movie that felt the most like an ad for mario kart

I'm intrigued by Wonwoo's relationship with the members, and where exactly he fits in. He doesn't have any other idol friends, and tbh that kind of worries me, the poor awkward bean.

Wonwoo is an interesting bean. In my experience writing with him, he’s always been a fun one to try and pin down. Since he’s more introverted, his role in the group is a much more subtle one. However, that ends up playing to his advantage more often than not. If I had to pin down a role musically for Wonwoo, it would be the impact hitter. When you want a bridge that sends chills down your spine, you get Wonwoo. When you want a rap verse that completely changes up the song, you get Wonwoo. His interesting, deep voice is a contrast to all the other members in the group, and I think his role in the group dynamic is similar. He’s a very good foil, he provides a very good contrast to members such as Hoshi and Mingyu. You can see this demonstrated in his individual relationships, how he interacts with each member and who he’s closest with. So I’ve decided to lay this post out like I did for the “Woozi’s relationships” post, going through each of his individual dynamics. So hopefully you enjoy this quick look through Wonwoo and his place in the group and his mindsets with his friendships!

Wonwoo+S.Coups 

For two people in the same unit, there’s not even that many interactions between the two members to analyze. I think the two of them have a pretty chill dynamic, where Coups pretty much gives Wonwoo the space to do his own thing without bothering him too much, and when Wonwoo is feeling playful he’ll open up to Coups because he doesn’t feel like Coups is too excitable or overbearing and easy to handle. It’s a very amicable, sweet dynamic, really. Coups respects Wonwoo’s boundaries and Wonwoo sometimes feels safe and happy enough to open up to playing around with Coups.

Wonwoo+Jeonghan

I discussed a few of Wonwoo’s relationships with members in this post about members who are awkward with one another, but the main one I want to bring up is Wonwoo and Jeonghan. In summary, if you’re not interested in reading that post, Wonwoo and Jeonghan very often point each other out as the member they’re most awkward with and this is likely because they both express affection through receiving and giving attention, however Wonwoo prefers the attention to be individual and to and from those who he really cares about and Jeonghan is very open about giving it and will sometimes try hard to get it from others, making Wonwoo seem too closed off to Jeonghan and Jeonghan too clingy and overbearing to Wonwoo. Despite this disconnect, when they make an effort to see things through one another’s eyes, they understand one another better than they think they do. It’s just a matter of being able to listen to what the other is saying, and it’s really a cute relationship that you can really cheer for them to become closer.

Wonwoo+Joshua

Similarly to Coups, there’s not a whole lot of content on Joshua and Wonwoo interactions, however it’s my belief that Joshua’s quiet but humorous nature causes Wonwoo to be a little more comfortable and drawn out of his shell. Generally, their interactions would be in the background whispering to each other, glancing at each other, making small jokes, or if Wonwoo’s feeling particularly comfortable, Wonwoo poking at Joshua’s arm or pretending to bite him. Again, it’s not a very strong dynamic, but it is a very friendly and relaxed dynamic that makes Wonwoo comfortable.

Wonwoo+Jun

Wonhui is actually an established ship with a dynamic that is noticeable, so there’s quite a bit more content to elaborate on here. Wonwoo and Jun’s friendship stems from their similarities, but also their slight differences that balance each other out in their similarities. They’re both generally quiet people who become excitable when they’re around people they feel comfortable with, however Jun enjoys making his friends laugh and Wonwoo enjoys surrounding himself with people who can make him laugh. I’ve said this before, but a lot of Wonhui moments are very mundane, things like Jun asking Wonwoo’s opinion on ramen or Wonwoo attempting Chinese and Jun telling him that he’s working hard and getting better, but I think there’s a real charm and real feeling to those interactions. Their friendship becomes clearer when they’re not just close when entertainment value is high, they’re close in boring every day aspects as well. As well as this, there’s also a recurring theme in a lot of Wonwoo’s friendships that his friends are people who you generally think wouldn’t be his friends, people who seem hyper and excitable and too loud for him. Wonwoo’s friend circle is very balanced with people who play foil to him; who contrast him in a way that brings out the best parts of him, and I think Jun is no exception.

Wonwoo+Hoshi

I think Soonwoo is a ship that not a whole lot of people saw coming. It flew under the radar pretty well up until about Boom Boom era, and it just grew and grew until culminating in the events of One Fine Day Japan when they had a cute playful rivalry running for almost the entirety of the show with the catchphrase “enemies who have good chemistry like friends”. And they do have good chemistry. Hoshi has a very iconic personality that Wonwoo enjoys being able to make fun of him for and Hoshi enjoys being able to make fun of Wonwoo too, usually to the swift punishment from him. In general, their relationship is like this. They’re very close, but they’re close on a level where they understand when they’re each only teasing and not trying to be mean, which opens up a whole new level of jokes and a fun dynamic of constantly poking fun at the other. Here’s some examples of Soonwoo chemistry.  Also, another subject I haven’t touched on yet is the fact that two prominent friendships of Wonwoo’s are in the same age line as him, born the same year. I tend to emphasize this sort of thing when I notice it, because Korean culture really puts a lot of emphasis on formality in age difference. It’s a very natural thing to be closer to those who are a similar age to you due to the cultural importance placed on proper speech and actions around older people, and while it’s not everything, it does factor into potential friendships, especially for someone like Wonwoo who might have a hard time approaching others to begin with.

Wonwoo+Woozi

This is another ship without a lot of content, and since it involves two members who both aren’t known for being the first to approach other members to break the ice. It’s not a bad thing, though, they don’t seem to dislike each other. Maybe in the future, there’ll be some more interactions with them! 

Wonwoo+DK 

Right off the bat, this pair has my most favorite gif in the history of ever

From what I can tell, they have a dynamic similar to Joshua’s. DK is sweet and outgoing enough to make Wonwoo come out of his shell a little, but most of their interactions are lowkey and in the background. Although the difference I would note is that they take more selfies together. Possibly, they hang out together much more on a casual basis, or possibly they just match each other well aesthetically. I think the takeaway is this: Wonwoo prefers not to draw too much attention to his relationships, and isn’t as outright about it as some others might be. This’ll be brought back up in talking about Meanie, but if it helps make you less worried about him, he seems to have a lot of members who he’s at least comfortable being around, he just prefers to be quiet and not as out front about it. So maybe he has some idol friends that he prefers to keep in touch with quietly, without drawing attention to them.

Wonwoo+Mingyu

Oh. I guess this is the next one up... That last part feels a bit anticlimatic since we’re getting right into it. I don’t think there’s very many Seventeen fans who don’t know the Meanie ship, especially early era/debut era fans. It was a very popular ship, rivaled in size by Jihan and Soonseok, however recently from Mansae era forward it’s begun to fall out of the light a bit. Why? Well, as I mentioned before, it seems that Wonwoo likes to keep a lot of his relationships away from the spotlight, and I’m thinking Meanie got a little too much attention and it started to scare him away a little. I think friendships don’t come naturally to Wonwoo, as he’s a bit more introverted, and while he does try hard, he’s also a little scared of messing up, and the pressure of thousands of people constantly watching you hanging out with your best friend might sap the ease out of letting loose and having a good time. However, as he acclimates and adjusts to the environment, he seems to be getting a little more comfortable and he starts to be able to enjoy himself again. Wonwoo and Mingyu are like peanut butter and jelly, cliched as the comparison may be. They’re almost polar opposites, and they work so well together that their friendship comes off as very comfortable and natural. Mingyu makes him laugh and naturally accepts Wonwoo’s quiet attention without pushing him into bigger things. Wonwoo encourages Mingyu to slow down and Mingyu encourages Wonwoo to work hard and come out of his shell. All considered, Meanie is the most infamous of the Wonwoo friendships, and they work well together, and hopefully they continue moving past the awkwardness.

Wonwoo+The8 

It’s seemed to me that Wonwoo and The8 are kindred spirits in the group. Their circle of friends are almost exactly the same, their personalities bear some resemblance at a base level as well. On a broad sense of their dynamic, I would say it’s a slight reverse dynamic because I think The8 would find Wonwoo a little cute and charming. Since he’s used to hanging out with loud people such as Jun and Mingyu, someone like Wonwoo who is quiet but also likes to laugh would be a nice change of pace for him, and the same would go for Wonwoo. While it would be a bit awkward at first, their paths do overlap due to their similar friend circles and I think they ended up naturally becoming pretty good, casual friends. 

Wonwoo+Vernon

I actually really love the dynamic of Wonwoo and Vernon. They start off a lot like S. Coups and Wonwoo, they’re in the same unit but there’s nothing to really compel them to hang out, but there’s one key difference: Vernon is younger than Wonwoo. S.coups and Vernon get most of the attention in Hip hop unit, and S.coups is older so he can’t really do much about it, but it would be really easy for Wonwoo for harbor animosity towards Vernon. Wonwoo has a really unique rapping tone and some really great lyrics, but he seems to be outshone by Vernon in a lot of cases and he could’ve been bitter over it. However, their dynamic ended up a lot more friendly like a big brother who cares for his younger brother. He hypes him up during his solo parts, he bounces around onstage and dances with him, and will even throw an arm around him. His attitude towards Vernon seems to be a lot more encouraging and lighthearted instead of bitter, and that’s really sweet and awesome and great to see. It’s one of the things that makes Hip hop unit such a pleasure to watch, the support they have for one another even when it could’ve been the opposite.

Wonwoo+Seungkwan

More than anything else, I think Wonwoo’s relationship to Seungkwan is one of admiration. While it seems he’s not always a fan of the spotlight, I think he can appreciate when he notices how Seungkwan keeps control of situations and is able to make everything sound so exciting and fun. Wonwoo isn’t the first person who comes to mind when I think of “overflowing love for his dongsaengs”, but when it comes to Seungkwan he really seems to just melt for him. Lots of laughing and smiling, lots of relaxing out of his shell, and even more skinship than usual for Wonwoo. It’s really sweet to see how much Wonwoo takes care of Seungkwan and watches out for him, and their dynamic is unlike any of Wonwoo’s other relationships.

Wonwoo+Dino

Although, that being said, Wonwoo and Dino are also close in a similar fashion. However, as opposed to Wonwoo thinking Seungkwan is cool, I think Wonwoo wants Dino to look up to him. Dino looks up to a lot of members, like Hoshi and Vernon and even Woozi, and I think Wonwoo tries his hardest around Dino to be someone he can look up to as well. Dino has a lot of potential, and I think Wonwoo sees that and (here’s where there’s a bit of similarity between him and Jeonghan appears) he wants to be someone who helps Dino reach his potential in the future. They aren’t terribly awkward around each other, I think Dino realizes Wonwoo’s intent and pays attention to him, and this leads to a nice cute friendship between the two of them. I hope in the future Dino starts to take his lyrics to Wonwoo and Wonwoo’s able to help him and they get even closer

So, in conclusion, Wonwoo really is hard to pin down in his relationships and he’s very interesting to explore. A lot of his relationships, we just don’t know much about because he’s a more background kind of person, and some it seems it’s hard for him to become closer with because he’s not a proactive initiator type of person. However, as he gets more comfortable being in the spotlight, both in his personal relationships and in his relationships with the fans, we’ve seen him break out and grow and hopefully soon we can see him start to make friends with other idols and really find where he belongs in the industry, as well as pursuing some of his other passions such as OST singing and such~

OKAYYYYYY let me share my suffering with yall sjdndjdnd (manga spoilers ahead and all that groovy shit)

so that first tweet was what i saw that prompted me to write the first part of this post. the second one just poppped up on the tl today and I'm gonna try to address both of these different points JDBDIDNDIDNDJDN

okay so first of all: it's so UGLY of y'all to still be trying to make it out like bakugou telling izuku to kill himself is somehow less problematic or like... no longer a valid issue simply because it happened at the start of the manga/in season one. tbh, I don't give a fuck if it happened twenty-five (25) years ago in canon; it still happened, it still plays a part in building the foundation of bakugou and izuku's relationship, and it's something (along with the fucking grocery list of other things) that bakugou has not apologized for, a whole three hundred and something chapters later :/

i mentioned this a little in the tags already, but izuku's suffering should not be written off/belittled/minimized just to shine light on bakugou's supposed """character development.""" people still bring that event up, not only because it hasn't been acknowledged by like, ANYONE (but most importantly bakugou), since it happened, or because.... oh, i dunno, being told to kill yourself is a pretty big fucking deal???? but there's also the fact that even having the reading comprehension of a gerbil would still let you take note that, from that specific moment onward (aka from the beginning till now), bk and izu's relationship never stops coming across as toxic.

(and just to give a reference to what a toxic relationship is: "any relationship [between people who] don’t support each other, where there’s conflict and one seeks to undermine the other, where there’s competition, where there’s disrespect and a lack of cohesiveness” or "a relationship characterized by behaviors on the part of the toxic partner that are emotionally and, not infrequently, physically damaging to their partner")

udjdidndjdd so anyways, the point with that first tweet is that like, if someone is making an argument that bk//dk (in any capacity, whether that be romantic, platonic, or anything between or outside of those labels) is toxic, and they mention the "take a swan dive" incident, they are not wrong. that is literally just one of sooooooo many different interactions between izuku and bakugou that shows the continuous theme of izuku being undermined and mistreated at bk's hands; the fact that it happened "a long time ago" or that it only happened once doesn't mean it's not still really fucking bad.

AND THEN THIS SECOND TWEET LIKE DIDNDISNSISNSKDD I'm gonna keep it pretty short and simple here or else we'll be here for years:

(this is based on what has been seen from fan translations of the latest chapter and could be subject to change BUT) if ofa is more detrimental to users with quirks/works well for toshinori and izuku because they're quirkless, WHY THE FUCK DO Y'ALL STILL WANT BAKUGOU TO HAVE THE QUIRK? (i mean, if y'all want him dead that bad then by all means dudndjdndd but) it makes no sense to theorize that bakugou would get a "portion" of the quirk when the shit would literally put him in his grave early, at best???

ALSO?????? how would that even work????? since when can you "divide" a quirk?????? what part of canon gave you the impression that that's something to even consider????

along those lines, OFA IS IZUKU'S QUIRK!!!! ALL MIGHT GAVE THE QUIRK TO I Z U K U! BAKUGOU ALREADY HAD HIS OWN STUPID, EXPLOSIVE QUIRK, SO HE DOES NOT NEED TO BE GIVEN ANY OF OFA!!!
