Jinx kinda just waltzed into his life one day and didn’t leave. She has annoyed him for years and refuses to leave. She’s smart too. Like, knows what ‘no’ means but doesn’t care unless it’s actually dangerous and not just annoying. He begrudgingly loves her and doesn’t know what he’d do without her. Then she adopted Isha. She became more personable but will try to murder you if you approach Isha. He still has no fucking CLUE where she even got her. He has a suspicion she has a way out of the house but doesn’t know where it is. So one day he came home to his cat licking a small kitten who he later found out, WASN’T EVEN HERS. Ekko regrets letting the cat into his life (half his house is cat things and he loves them to pieces. Especially considering jinx is a deterrent from Vi bringing Caitlyn over. For some reason the cat hates her? In ekko’s opinion, completely fair. He hates her a little too.)

"I work at a petstore," says the young man with much disdain, "so I don't really need to hold another one. I know what they're like."

"These aren't petstore mice," I say, as I turn my hand over and the mouse holds on tighter. "They're not like any mouse you've ever held," I say, as I close my hand gently around the mouse and flip her onto her back for a second so I can touch her mouth and demonstrate how difficult it would be to get one of my mice to bite.

"I'm sure you've handled them extensively from a very young age, though."

"They haven't been handled before today, except to be moved into clean cages." She arranges herself in my hand and cleans her face. "Are you sure you don't want to hold one?"

He opens his hands, and she pours from my hand into his like a viscous liquid. She is soft and warm and sweet, and his entire face lights up when she hunkers down onto his warm hand and closes her eyes.

"....She's changing my mind."

"They tend to do that when you leave it open."

He took her and two companions home.

as monster!mc is getting hunted down by the police and paranormal enthusiasts after her recent murder, she tries finding a hiding place to rest for the rest of the day, before she can safely return to the abandoned apartments. she admits, this murder was pretty damn reckless. but she was mad, okay?

as she was taking a breather by a quiet hospital, she hears the grass rustling.

weirdly enough, it didn’t sound like footsteps.

she turns around to find a curious long-haired boy on a wheelchair. mr. crawling asks her if she’s come by to visit anyone in the hospital. the mc says no and admits she’s only here to rest. he smiles and asks to hang out with her. he doesn’t mind her bloody crowbar or her red, scarred skin. he even thinks it’s cute! he’s really happy someone else finally came to this hospital.

he’s been confined for as long as he could remember. he could technically leave, but he didn’t have a family to go back to. he does have friends, though, like the hospital’s research assistant, mr. silvair, and mr. chopped, who is also confined, but cannot leave without assistance.

he begs the mc to be allowed to accompany her to wherever she plans on going, as he says he’s explored every part of this little corner of town so he can guide her in case she stumbles into unfamiliar territory. he can only go so far on his wheelchair, but he makes the most out of it.

the mc realizes she CANNOT go back because this KID is gonna follow her to her hideout, the place where she dumps her dead bodies, mind you. so she lets mr. crawling tour her around the hospital and his town (at least, the part he knows) to distract him for a bit. she can’t kill him now, not when she’s actively wanted.

he gets attached, quickly. he’s never had a friend outside the hospital before. the mc gets attached too. she tries learning his language, and he tries to learn hers. for the first time in her life, she didn’t want to hurt this human.

eventually, the police do stumble upon the hospital. they charge in, searching for the wanted serial killer/ghost/monster or whatever she is. the mc decides to leave for mr. crawling’s safety, but he musters up all the strength in his legs to stand up and push her to sit on the wheelchair. he protects her from the police by acting as her caretaker while she acts like the hospital patient.

he doesn’t care what she did. he doesn’t even bat an eye at the accusations the police throw at her. all that matters is that she stays with him. for as long as she wants to, of course. and that she does.

i wanted to write a quick 3-chapter fic for day 4 of loa shiptober (how they met i think) and i (a fool) was like. yeah. i could totally write 3 chapters in a few hours. i was wrong. SO wrong. haven’t even finished kremy’s (the first one).

so instead have a maybe-past-kremy design that im conflicted about compared to his current design, as a peace offering

Read Right to Left (Manga Format)

I have returned to watching demon slayer after a year and it came up while I was having a serious late night talk with my big sister. I was talking about the relationship between Michikatsu/Kokushibo and Yoriichi and it turns out we both see each other in Yoriichi's shoes and ourselves in Michikatsu's place. Definitely surprising, but really relieving to know that we both worry too much and we are not so far apart in skill as we believe.

This is technically the first piece of fanart I've ever made for the characters in Demon Slayer, I have made OCs before but I never drew an actual character from the story. For context this is mostly just a fun "what if" scenario with them meeting in the afterlife. I like to think Yoriichi's love would reawaken Michikatsu's humanity.
