Jaiania held her breath as she walked past Josh and his twin brother Jon. She kept her head down, hoping they didn’t notice her walking by them. She absolutely did not want to have a conversation with either of them - especially Josh -. After their failed relationship and trainwreck of a breakup, she would rather play in traffic than have a conversation with him.
She almost made it past them without being noticed. “Damn girl you just gon walk right past us.” That was Jon. Jaiania forced a smile on her face and turned around to face them.
“Oh, hey.” She said, keeping her eyes on Jon. “Didn’t see you there.” She shrugged when he gave her a ‘yeah right’ look. Josh crossed his arms over his chest and rolled his eyes when he realized that she was trying her hardest to not look in his direction.
This is awkward she thought as she rocked back on her heels before pointing in the direction she was walking.
“I gotta go. Nice seeing you though,” She said to Jon, still ignoring Joshua’s presence.
She hurried down the hallway feeling their eyes on her.
Jon turned to his brother once she rounded the corner. “Look at what you did,” He said, smacking Josh on his chest. Josh rolled his eyes.
“I ain't do shit. Come on, we gotta get ready.”  Josh did not want to hear that bullshit. He was in the wrong just as much as she was but since everyone loved Jaiania he took all the blame.
Tumblr media
Jaiaina groaned as she saw Jon and Josh walking her way a couple of hours later. This must be my lucky day, two times in one night, she thought bitterly. She could normally avoid Jon and Josh but they seemed to be everywhere she was today.
“Congratulations guys.” She said referring to the Smackdown tag team titles they had just won from Chad Gable and Jason Jordan.
“Thank you, Jai,” Jon said, trying to give her a sweaty hug. She pretended to throw up and moved away from him. “Is your arm okay tho? That rinpost spot looked pretty rough.”
“I’m totally fine.” Jaiaina lied. “Looked way worse than it actually was.” She said, smiling at him.
“Yeet!” He said, making Jaiaina roll her eyes. “We goin’ out to celebrate our big win tonight, you in?”
Jaiaina let her eyes cut over to Josh who thankfully wasn’t looking at her. “Uh. I can’t. I have plans already.” That got Josh’s attention. He looked up from his phone and squinted his eyes at her. He wasn't normally one for gossip but he had heard some things about Jaiaina and another one of their co-workers recently.
“So the rumors are true huh?” He said with a scoff. “You move on fast.” Jaiaina cut her eyes back over to him and glared.
“Excuse me?” She asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
Josh sucked his teeth and narrowed his eyes at her. “You heard me.”
Jon let his eyes ping pong between the two of them. He knew he needed to stop them before they became explosive. “Uce, come on. It ain’t worth it. ” Jon said trying to pull his brother along but Josh wasn’t budging. “Josh, stop. Let’s go Uce”
“Yeah, I think that's a good idea,” Jaiaina said as she rolled her eyes and turned to walk away from them.  6 months of silence and the first thing he said to her is something about some bullshit ass rumors?! Pathetic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“And then he had the nerve to talk about me moving on too fast,” Jaiaina said to Trinity and Carmella as they sat in the VIP section of a club. “I mean, he broke up with me. What does he care if I moved on or not.” She said as she downed another shot. Carmelle and Trinity shared a look but didn’t say anything.  “And what fucking rumors?!” She turned to her best friends. “Yall heard rumors about me?” She let out a scoff and rolled her eyes when they both nodded.
“Yeah, but we obviously don't believe it,”  Carmella said.
“What's the rumor though?”
Carmella shrugged and sipped her drink. “Something about you and AJ”
Jaiaina's eyes widened. “AJ STYLES?!” She asked louder than necessary. “Ew, what the fuck. Where did that fucking come from?”
Carmella sighed. “Okay, here's what I know. Apparently, someone saw you and him  leaving a hotel room together a couple of weeks ago.”
Jaiaina scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Do these people know that he’s married and I would never do that to Wendy or his children?” She sighed. “And Josh knows that Allen was my mentor during my time in TNA.”
“Girl you know how Josh is. He’s being an ass because he misses you.” Trinity said and Jaiaina rolled her eyes.
“Yeah well, he shouldn’t believe rumors about me.”
“And you miss him too, right?” Trinity questioned.
Jaiania rolled her eyes. “Of course I miss him, I never said I didn’t.”
“ Do you still love him?”
Jaiaian took another sip of her drink before answering. “Yes I still love him, but it is extremely obvious that he never did. We break up and the first thing he does is go fuck on one of our coworkers? That’s foul. Now every time I walk past that hoe she got a fucking smirk on her face that I wanna smack off. ”
Trinity and Carmella found themselves nodding along with Jaiaina’s statement. It was an extremely foul thing for Josh to do.
“I still don’t know what possessed him to do that. “
“I do.” Jaiaina rolled her eyes. “He been wanting to fuck Dasha. Surprised he didn’t do it  while we were dating.”
Trinity rolled her eyes at her friend. “Josh may have been an asshole but we all know he wouldn’t cheat on you.”
Jaiaina hummed as she took a sip of her drink. She then eyed her friend. “Shouldn’t you be out celebrating with your husband?”
“Oh, about that.”
Jai narrowed her eyes at Trinity before letting out a gasp. “You didn’t !”
“I’m sorry! I know we already planned this girl's night and I didn’t wanna flake on y'all.”
Jai scoffed and turned towards Carmella who was already looking at her with guilty eyes.
“I invited  Corey too.”
Jaiaina had to stop herself from throwing a temper tantrum. “You guys” she whined. “Girls night mean just girls.” She pouted.
Trinity and Carmella burst into laughter. “We’re sorry! But look, we can have a girl's night once we go back to Florida. Just us.”
“Fine,” Jaiaina said, still pouting. Just as she was about to take another sip of her drink, Jon, Josh and… Dasha fucking Jackson. Jaiaina scoffed and adverted her eyes from the couple.
“I’m sorry,” Trin whispered as stood and greeted her husband and Corey purposely ignoring Josh and Dasha. Carmella did the same and Jaiania couldn’t have been more grateful for her friends.
Don’t let it get to you, Don’t let it get to you. She repeated in her head as Dasha made a point of showing she was Josh’s girl now by placing a kiss on his lips. Once Dasha looked in her direction, Jaiaina stood from her seat and walked over to the bar. The drama was something she did not need nor want tonight.
She let out a heavy sigh as she leaned against the bar. She had successfully gone months without being in the same space as Josh because it hurt. It hurt to look at him and not be with him. She said some foul things the day they broke up and so did he, but she never expected him to literally go and fuck another woman THE SAME NIGHT.
“C’mon, you too pretty to be frowning.” Jaiaina had to stop herself from swinging on the slimeball that just slithered his way next to her. She turned her head to the side to face him and he smiled thinking he got her attention. She cringed at the food he had stuck in his teeth.
“Thank you,” She said referring to the compliment. “But, uh no thanks.” She said referring to his advances. The bartender set down her rum punch, Jaiaina grabbed the drink and tried to walk away but the guy grabbed her arm.
“Don’t be fucking rude.” He scoffed. “You didn’t even ask me my name.”
“That’s cause I don’t wanna know your name!” She said, trying to pull her arm out of his grasp. Just from how tight his grip was, she knew she was going to have a bruise. “Let go of me!”
“Don’t be such a bitch!” He spat at her, Just as Jai was lifting her knee to hit him in his balls, he was forcefully grabbed, which caused him to release her arm.
“The fuck is you doin’?!”
Jaiaina let out a gasp as Josh pushed the slimeball down to the ground. By now, more than half of the bar had turned their attention to them. “Don’t put ya’ fucking hands on her like that. Fuck is wrong witchu?!”
Slimy McSlimerson tried to kick his feet at Josh but Josh sidestepped them and then kicked slimeball in his face, knocking him onto his back. Slimy let out a groan as he started to hold his now broken nose.
“You alright?” The bartender asked coming around the bar and taking Jai’s arm in his hands, inspecting it. “You want me to call the cops?”
Josh gently pulled Jaiaina away from the bartender, making him drop her arm. Jaiaina’s eyebrows furrowed together as Josh wrapped his arm around her and pulled her closer, tucking her into his side.  “Nah, we good,” Josh said eyeing Slimy on the ground. Josh was tempted to knock Slimy’s teeth down his throat but decided against it as he led Jai out of the club and into the night's cool air.
Jaiaina said nothing as she let Josh lead her outside. She momentarily allowed herself to lean into his familiar touch before remembering their current situation. “I’m fine now.” She said, taking another step away from him. “You can go back into the bar.”
“And leave you out here?” He asked. “Bab–Jaiaina, you shaking.”
“Okay, so send Trin or Mella out here. Go back inside.”  Josh sucked bus teeth and pulled off his black bomber jacket he was wearing and handed it to her.
“Just take the damn jacket Jai”
“I don’t want your damn jacket, Joshua. And I damn sure didn’t need your help back there. I had it.”
Josh scoffed and grabbed her arm, making them both look down at the purple bruise that was forming. “Yeah okay.” He snorted. He hated that she was so stubborn. “You can hate me all you want Jaiaina. But if you gon’ wait out here in the damn cold, take the damn jacket.”
Jaiaina huffed and snatched the jacket out of his hands. “Happy?” She asked with a sarcastic smile and she slid her arms into the jacket.
“Very.” Just as he said that the side door to the bar opened and her group of friends and Dasha spilled out. Dasha eyed the jacket and then narrowed her eyes at Josh, who was still looking at Jaiaina.
“Girl! Are you okay?!” Trinity cried out as she and Leah rushed over to their best friend. Jai broke eye contact with Josh and turned her head towards her friends.
“I’m fine. Just some weirdo who doesn’t understand the meaning of No.”
Trinity, being the emotional drunk wrapped her arms around Jai’s head and pulled her down, so Jai’s head was resting on her breast. “I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to help you friend.” She whispered as a few tears slipped down her face. Jon and Josh sucked their teeth.
“Man, Trin get off her.” Jai let out a soft laugh as Jon pulled Trinity away from her.
“Did I ruin the mood? Or can we go back in?” Jaiaina asked.
“Hell no! You didn’t ruin the mood! C’mon!” Leah said as she grabbed Trinity’s and Jaiaina’s hands and started to lead them inside.
“Actually. I’m not in the party spirit anymore… We’re gonna head back to the hotel. Dasha said as she walked over to Josh. Jaiaina hated the way her heart tightened in her chest. Jaiaina watched as Dasha slipped her hand into Josh’s, her fingers curling around his in that intimate, effortless way that people who were in love did.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay for a bit longer?” Josh asked, his voice soft but laced with that familiar warmth Jaiaina had once loved.
Dasha's hand tightened around his. “I’m sure. Come on, let’s go.” There was a finality to her words that Jaiaina couldn’t ignore.
Jaiaina’s chest tightened. It shouldn’t hurt this much. It shouldn’t hurt at all.
She and Josh had broken up for a reason—no matter how hard it had been. She told herself she was over it. Jaiaina forced herself to look away from the couple.
“I think I'm gonna head back too. I forgot I have an early flight to Birmingham in the morning.”
Birmingham? Josh arched his eyebrow at the mention of Birmingham. He knew there was only one reason why she was going there, which meant she lied to Jon earlier when he asked about her arm.
Trinity and Leah shot her playful glares, but their smiles quickly softened into teasing hugs. After making Jaiaina promise to hang out once all three of them were in Florida, Jon, Trin, Leah and Corey walked back inside the bar.
Jaiaina stood there awkwardly. She pulled her phone out of her clutch and ordered an Uber. She could feel Josh and Dasha’s eyes on her.
“Oh, your jacket,” Dasha said as their Uber pulled up.
“She can keep it. It’s cold as hell out here Baby.” Baby.. just hearing that Josh had a nickname for Dasha made Jaiaina sick to her stomach.
“It’s fine..” Jaiaina trailed off as she took the jack off and handed it back to Josh. “I should have brought out my own coat.”
“Yeah, you should have.” Dasha scoffed and snatched the jacket out of Jai’s hands.
Be the bigger person Jaiaina thought, don’t beat this bitch’s ass.
“C’mon man, you ain't have to snatch it,” Josh muttered as he walked towards the Uber. Dasha rolled her eyes and stomped after him.
“Well, why did you give her your jacket? Could have let the hoe freeze for all I care.”
Jaiaina gritted her teeth as the door to the Uber slammed shut and they drove away. She closed her eyes and tried to remember the deep breathing exercises her therapist told her to do. Forcing herself to take slow, deliberate breaths in and out. In through the nose, out through the mouth...
It didn’t work. Not this time.
Dasha was so lucky that Jaiaina actually enjoyed her job, cause Jai would have BEEN beat her ass by now.
Tumblr media
Jaiaina’s head had barely hit the pillow before three sharp, rhythmic knocks echoed through the room. Her stomach twisted into knots at the sound of the knocks.
There was only one person in the whole world that knew three was her safe number. Sighing, she threw the covers off of her, grabbed her pink Versace robe, and opened the door.
“Why did you lie to twin earlier?” Jaiaina blinked.
What?” she scoffed, a quick laugh escaping her. “What are you talking about?”
“Earlier, Jon asked about your arm. You said you were fine but you not. Why you going to Birmingham in the morning.”
“What I have going on in my life doesn’t concern you anymore Joshua,” Jaiaina said firmly, trying to shut down the conversation before it could go any further.
“Don’t do that.” He muttered, his eyes never leaving hers. “Don’t act like you weren’t a major part of my life.”
“I was. Not anymore Joshua. Go back to Dasha and leave me alone.”
Josh’s jaw tightened as he took a deep breath trying to compose himself. “Look, I know –”
“No,” Jaiaina said as she started to shake her head. “I’m not doing this with you.” Josh looked confused as she started to close the door in his face, at the last second, he put his foot in between the door and the fame. Jaiaine huffed as he easily overpowered her and gently pushed her away from the door.
She stomped over to the bed and threw herself down on it, while Josh shut the door behind her and went to sit in the armchair that was placed between the bed and the window.
“Josh, it's been six months since we last talked. Let’s just go back to that.”
“I don’t want to. I fucking miss you Jaiaina.”
Jaiaina laughed making Josh scoff.
“The hell so funny?”
“YOU!” She exclaimed as she jumped from the bed and pointed at him. “You think you can just come swoop in like some type of Superman after what you did?! Fuck off, Joshua!”
“Jai, I know I said some fucked up shit but -”
“Said?! No nigga. It's about what you did!” She cut him off.  “The fact that you fucked that bitch the same night we broke up was foul as hell Joshua!”
“Woah!” He called out, jumping to his feet. “I ain't do no shit like that. Fuck is you talking about.”
Jaiaina let out a humorless laugh. “Yeah okay.” She said mockingly with a roll of her eyes. “The bitch already told anybody who would listen. The same night you walked out of our hotel room, you went to her! And you fucked her.” Jaiaina couldn’t hold it back anymore, the tears that threatened to spill since the bar came flowing down her face.
"Jai, I swear to you, that's ain’t what happened," Josh said, his voice low and urgent. He took a step towards her, but Jaiaina backed away, shaking her head.
“Don’t Joshua. Just leave.”
“Hell no. I’m not going anywhere. I lost you once, I’m not doing It again.”
Jaiaina childishly covered her ears. “I’m not listening to any of the bullshit you are spewing tonight Joshua!” She uncovered her ears and narrowed her eyes at Josh. “Okay let's just say, you didn’t have sex with her the same night. You’re still with her now! And don’t deny it, I heard you call her baby.” When Josh didn’t deny it, Jaiaina felt her heart break even more. “Please just go. Go back to your girlfriend and go back to ignoring me.” She whispered as she lowered her eyes to the ground.
Jaiaina heard him sniffle but she didn’t lift her head to look at him. “I never wanted to hurt you Jai.” Jaiaina didn’t say anything back, she didn’t have anything to say. She was exhausted. She just wanted to go to sleep and forget all about Josh by the morning.
Josh sighed and started walking towards the door, the silence between them was too much. It was suffocating. He wanted to fix it. He wanted to make things right. But he didn’t know how. With one last glance at Jaiaina, he turned and walked out the door.
As soon as the door shut, Jaiaina broke down, she covered her mouth with her hand to try and hide her sobs. Outside, Josh leaned against the closed door, his forehead pressed against the cool wood. He could hear Jaiaina's muffled cries through the thin barrier, and each sob felt like a knife twisting in his gut. He wanted nothing more than to burst back in, to take her in his arms and explain everything. But he knew she wouldn't listen, not now.

Birmingham, Alabama
Jaiaina knew it was stupid to go through this surgery alone, but WWE provided the best doctors so she knew she was in good hands.
Waking up from surgery was a feeling she would never get used to. She let out a groan at the dull ache in her right shoulder and immediately she heard someone shh her and place a straw at her lips. The comforting sensation of the water helped clear some of the haze, but as she blinked her eyes open, the shock of who was sitting next to her hit her like a ton of bricks.
“I gotchu, relax.”
“What are you doing here?” She whispered,  her voice scratchy and weak from the anesthesia.
“Making sure you alright and not alone.”
“Josh please –”
He shushed her again. “I broke whatever I had with Dasha off. Imma be truthful and say that yeah, I got with her to fuck with you after I heard the rumor about you and AJ but, I did not have sex with her that same night. To be honest, I never had sex with her, I haven’t had sex with anybody since you.”
Jaiaina’s jaw dropped open. She didn’t know how to respond to that. She had spent the past six months hating Josh because she thought he was a slimy asshole. She didn’t know how to feel right now.
“Josh I-”  She started,
“I’m not asking you to forgive me, Jaiaina,” Josh continued, his voice soft but firm. “Not right away. Aight? I know I messed up, and I know it’s not gonna be easy. But I’m willing to work this out, but only if you want to.”
Jaiaina stared into his eyes, no matter how hard she tried she would never get rid of the love she had for this man. It was a big relief to finally hear the truth about the night that they broke up but he still hurt her by ignoring her for six months.
“Please.” He whispered. “I always seen you in my life. Always seen you as the mother of my kids. Just give me one more chance.”
Jaiaina’s breath caught in her throat. This was the most vulnerable she had ever seen him in the three years they had dated.
“Okay,” She whispered, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. “But I swear on everything I love, this is your LAST chance.”
Josh's face lit up with a mixture of relief and hope. He gently took Jaiaina's hand, careful not to disturb the IV line. “I promise you, I won't mess this up again. I love you too damn much.”
Jaiaina stared at him for a second before a small smile came across her face. “I love you too.”

Side Note:
Jaiaina had torn rotator cuff.
Josh definitely bribed and threatened an intern to tell him what was wrong with Jaiaina LOL!

Grow Up, Would You? [Josh Washington]
“I don’t know if you’ve changed any since middle school but I really hope you’ve learned the difference between pranking somebody and just being a fucking bully.”
You can also find this story on Ao3!
Chapter Five / Chapter Six / Chapter Seven
NOTE: This chapter is about twice as long as normal. Thank you!
[CHAPTER SIX]
"Jordan, wake up!" I hear Hannah yelling through the bedroom door, pounding on it hard enough to break it. In a panic, I roll out of bed, hitting the ground with a thud.
"I'm awake! I'm awake!" I cry out, scrambling for the door. I pull it open quickly, fearing for a millisecond I'd ripped it off it's hinges. In front of me is Hannah with a shy grin on her face. Next to her is Beth, holding a large plate stacked with pancakes. My jaw drops. I'm speechless.
"Good morning sleepyhead," Hannah says meekly. She very much understands she nearly killed me with her wake up call.
"What the fuck?" I groan, rubbing my eyes. "Is this how you normally wake people up?"
"With pancakes?" Beth offers, holding out the plate to me. I scoff, shake my head, and sigh heavily.
"Everyone else is downstairs," Hannah says, taking a pancake directly off of Beth's plate and handing it to me. I take it and take a bite. It's a good pancake.
"Who made these?" I sigh, motioning for the girls to enter my room so I could get dressed. They close the door behind them.
"We did, and Josh supervised." I rubbed my temples from the hangover that began to creep it's way into my consciousness. I hadn't even noticed it with the adrenaline roaring through me. As I crouch down to my bag, Hannah and Beth both set themselves onto the bed.
"How was your night? You guys were laughing, like, the entire time. We heard you from upstairs!" Beth says. I shrug.
"It was good, from what I remember." I admit. Slowly, the memories had started trickling back into my head. The porch, the couch.
Joshua.
My face starts to redden immediately as I think about it. The smell of his clothes, laying in the snow, his head in my lap.
"Did you get wasted?" Hannah asks. I can hear her eating.
"Feels like I did," I admit with a small chuckle. "My head is starting to hurt."
"Smart of you to leave water and aspirin next to your bed," she replies. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion as I pull out a pair of jeans, a dark blue turtleneck sweater, and a pair of thick black socks.
"What?" I look up, and knowing, evil smiles start to creep onto their faces. They are more like their scheming brother than I thought. I stand up and change as Hannah reaches over to the pills and water.
"No note," Hannah sighs as she hands them to me.
"Why would there be a note?" I ask defensively. "I probably put them there and don't remember." I take the items from Hannah and down them.
"Or somebody else put them there."
"Ok guys," I start, putting my hands up. "I can tell you're scheming. I know your brother, you've got the same look he does when he's about to throw paper at my head." They snicker a little at this.
"Josh totally has a thing for you," Beth whispers. I raise my eyebrows. "And we think you guys would be super cute together."
"I don't think so, girls. To either of those things," I gulp, walking quickly for the door. Beth is quickly able to block me, standing in front of it. "He's made my life hell for most of my life. Isn't just getting along enough?"
"We saw you guys outside yesterday," Hannah beams. She appears as if she can barely contain her excitement and she pushes up her glasses. "Just rolling around in the snow... On top of each other."
"We were drunk!" I defend, nearly yelling. "Now can we please go downstairs?"
"Are you claustrophobic?"
"What??"
"Nevermind." Beth steps aside, and I hesitate. I take a deep sigh before slowly turning back around.
"What makes you think he feels that way about me?" I ask. Both girls look at each other with smug smiles on their faces, and I roll my eyes.
"Well, for one, the amount of attention he's given you over the years is incredible," Beth starts. "Maybe not the attention anybody would've liked-"
"Not that we're excusing it." Hannah chimes in.
"Right. Bullying is wrong and he's an asshole for what he's done to you over the years. But for the entirety of our lives that he's known you, he's perked up at the mention of you." I raise my eyebrows again and place my hands on my hips, waiting for them to continue.
"Every time Chris was over, somehow you were always brought up, even after you changed schools."
"I think you guys are bullshitting me," I laugh. There was no way.
"I can almost guarantee he knows things about you that you wouldn't think he does," Hannah says. They finally start making their way towards me and the door to exit to the kitchen. "You'll see." I roll my eyes and sigh.
"Whatever."
"Don't worry, Jordan, we'll take care of it." I don't like the sound of that at all. As soon as the door is open, Hannah and Beth rush past me. When I get to the kitchen, I see Josh, Chris, and Matt talking.
"Good morning," I greet. As soon as Josh sees me, a red dusts his cheeks. He averts his eyes, looking at the ground. A smile tugs at my lips for a moment. Does he remember?
"Good morning, cousin." Chris says in a sing-song voice. Matt smiles and nods in greeting. Everyone else was scattered around, Emily, Mike, and Jess on the couch, Josh, Chris, Matt, and I in the kitchen, and the twins go to the dining room table to sit with Sam and Ashley.
"Mornin'," Josh nods. Chris squints his eyes, looking between Josh and I.
"Forgive the attitude, Josh woke up mad hungover." Chris explains.
"You didn't?" Matt asks, grabbing a plate of half eaten pancakes that I can only assume is his and continuing to eat.
"Nah, never had a hangover in my life," he brags, pushing his un-styled hair back. It pokes upward as it would normally would, but the bedhead was severe, making him look more like Guy Fieri than my cousin. As I go to the massive plate of pancakes on the counter, Josh walks up next to me to get some, himself.
"How did you sleep?" He mumbled, his voice low. I hum as I consider my answer.
"I slept fine," I answer. I grabbed three pancakes, spreading butter across each one. I hesitate before what I say next. "Thank you for the pain killers and the water."
"I don't know what you're talking about," Josh says, a smile tugging at his lips. The same as the day before out on the balcony, he was standing shoulder to shoulder with me as we decorated our breakfast.
"Right, I forget you're pure evil." I chuckle.
"Just the worst." he responds. We look at each other, just standing and smiling like fools. Chris slaps his hand hard on Josh's shoulder, knocking the air out of his friend and snapping us out of it.
"You guys seemed to have sorted out your differences," Chris coo's, shoving himself between us and draping his arms over our shoulders. Josh looks frustrated, his common intense stare now aimed at his best friend. "I'm so proud of you guys." I laugh, and Josh's expression softens.
"Yes, Cochise, your roll as best friend is officially revoked and now given to Jordan," he teases. Chris gasps and releases us from his loose embrace, allowing us to actually eat our breakfast.
We eat in a comfortable silence. The ambience of the warm fire crackling in the living room and the gorgeous view of the snow falling slowly outside of the windows allows for a comfortable environment. This is the most comfort and acceptance in a group I've felt in a long time, if not for the first time.
"Alright party people," Beth starts, everyone else following behind her. "Group meeting in the kitchen."
"Oh, yay, my favorite." Emily says sarcastically. Everyone ignores her as Beth continues on.
"What do we want to do today?"
"We could go on a hike." Sam suggests. Jess looks at her in terror.
"In this weather?" she gasps.
"If you wear the right clothes it's really not that bad."
"For Ms. One-With-Nature, maybe."
"Do you still have those skis and snowboards up here, Josh?" Mike asks. Matt perks up.
"Yeah, sure, but I don't think anybody here is professional enough to navigate the trails here," Josh answers. "We could use the outdoor hot tub."
"And freeze to death as soon as I leave the water??" Ashley scoffs. "No thank you!"
The group continues to babble, throwing out ideas left and right of what we wanted to do today. As it was my first time at the lodge, I figure it would be better if I stayed out of this conversation - especially because I just don't know what there is, here. I listen in. Sam, Matt, and Mike are suggesting more strenuous and physical activities, Chris suggesting things like a snowball war, the others suggest more indoor activities. The twins and Josh say nothing other than confirming the possibility of the activity being a choice at all.
It appeared that "snowball war" was tied with "massive indoor blanket and pillow fort."
"C'mon, guys, it's winter! When was the last time we played in the snow?" Josh asks excitedly. He's waving his arms around as he speaks. I'm not sure I've ever seen him want something so bad.
"When was the last time you've made a pillow fort?" Ashley asks. As they continue their debate, I can't help but notice that Hannah and Mike were missing. I glance around, but they're nowhere to be seen. My eyes land on Emily. Her expression is that of fake interest in the conversation, trying to hide what I could tell she really felt. I never thought that I would see worry in her eyes. She makes eye contact with me, but instead of making a scene, she averts her eyes and turns around, heading towards the bathroom. For a split second I swear I saw tears in her eyes.
"Snowball fight wins the vote!" Chris cheers, he and Josh chest bump and I nearly jump out of my skin at the sudden interruption to my thoughts. "Everybody gets ready and we'll meet outside." As we disperse, I go in the direction that Emily had. I get to the bathroom, where I assumed she went, and gently knock.
"Go away!" Emily hisses. I can hear her sniffling.
"Snowball fight is the winner." I say softly. I'm pressed lightly against the door, wanting to hear anything she might say.
"Okay, great! Then go do that and leave me alone." There's a long beat of silence, the only sound being toilet paper ripping off the roll and what I assume is Emily blowing her nose. "I know you're still out there."
"Are you ok?" I ask. Silence again, and a sniffle.
"Yeah, I'm... Fine," she answers, her tone much softer now.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not with you." she scoffs. I sigh and let off the door. As I do, it opens. Emily, shorter than I am, looks up at me, her mascara streaming down her face and smudged badly.
"You look like shit." I state. She laughs and steps aside for me to step in, closing the door behind me.
"Are you gonna make fun of me?" Emily questions, leaving against the sink and crossing her arms.
"For what?" she looks at me like I'm stupid. "You haven't even told me what you're crying about yet. Not much to work with." She laughs again, softly. A smile tugs at my lips, a sort of pride swelling in my chest at making her smile, let alone laugh.
Twice.
"It's just..." Emily looks down, shaking her head like she can't believe herself. "Mike."
"What did he do?"
"He -" she cuts herself off and looks up at the ceiling, blinking tears away as if her makeup wasn't already ruined. "He keeps entertaining other girls, I don't know. I know you noticed he and Hannah are nowhere to be seen. They were out on the balcony earlier." I slowly set myself down next to her. She doesn't move, so I hesitantly reach up and place my hand on her back. I can feel her tense up before settling under my touch.
"I'm sorry, Emily." I offer, unsure of what to say.
"Hannah and I have been friends for so long, I thought she would have some kind of respect for me," Emily gulps. "After all I've done for her."
"I don't know what to say." she lets out an airy laugh at my statement. All I know how to do is to continue to rub circles onto her back through her thin sweater.
"Listening is enough, or... whatever," she sighs, leaning into me and laying her head on my shoulder. For a moment, I considered pinching myself. We sit there together in a comfortable silence aside from the last sniffles of heartbreak from Emily.
"We can fuck them up with snowballs," I offer quietly. I didn't want anyone to start looking for Emily - I was almost certain she was missed. "You can spit on them or put ice chunks inside." Emily rolls her eyes, but she's smiling as she pushes herself off of the bathroom counter.
"Encouraging me to split people's lips with ice is a cruelty I never expected to hear from you, Jordy." I narrow my eyes at the rather cringeworthy nickname. "It's a nice refresher."
"Do you want me to help you with cleaning up your makeup?" I ask, opening the cabinets in search of makeup wipes. "It's smudged to all hell."
"It's a smoky eye, genius," Emily retorts. I scoff at her as I find the wipes I knew Beth kept in here. "Ever see it before?"
"You're not rocking it, girlfriend." I state in a mildly mocking tone. She quirks her eyebrow at me and in her eyes is something different when she looks at me. It looks like approval - respect, even, but with Emily I knew it could never be that easy.
"Jordan." She commands as she sits on the lid of the toilet and waits for me to clean her up. I snap my head to her. She spoke with such authority, I wasn't sure what to do other than pay attention. As our eyes meet, Emily looks away with a sudden shyness and embarrassment.
"Emily?"
"Thank you."
----------
I stand at the door, looking outside at my acquaintances as they chatter. I was as dressed for the winter as I could be - which wasn't enough. I hesitated in leaving the warmth of the lodge despite knowing I would only have fun.
"Don't just stand there, let's go." Emily goads, pushing past me and pulling open the door, causing me to stumble. She's cleaned up and dressed fashionably, and I suppose she's back to her old self. I can't help but smile, though. I'm just glad she feels better. I sigh before following behind.
"There you are," Josh says as he spots me. His gaze completely passes over Emily, who is directly in his line of sight. Of course, she notices and turns around to smirk at me with an eyebrow raised. I can only shrug in response. "Now we can get started!" I bury my nose in my hoodie, Mr. Winter already biting at my face.
"What are the rules, good sir!?" Chris shouts in a terrible noble accent. He's already in the snow, using his feet to push up a pile for cover like he did when we were children. Say what you want about Chris, but when it came to snowball fights? He didn't play around.
"Why, thank you for asking, my good man!" Josh responds, his accent better but not by much. "No ice, in the snow! We don't want a single fatality on this battle field!" He paces forward as if he were a drill instructor, holding his hands behind his back and looking straight ahead. I can see Matt and Mike rush to follow Chris's lead in making their own shields. "Do try to avoid headshots!" Josh stops and turns around quickly before pacing ahead. "FINALLY!!"
"Get on with it, Josh," Sam scolds, folding her arms. I can tell she's eager to begin and her patience was running thin from being cooped up indoors.
"If you're hit above the belt, three times, you're OUT!!" He continues, ignoring Sam aside from a glance. He stops, finally standing still and facing towards those of as that hadn't already started our defenses. "Are we clear?!"
"Sir, yes sir!" I shout, saluting him. Nobody else does the same, and I feel embarrassed. Is nobody else funny or am I just that lame? Josh beams at me, and my concerns suddenly cease. My heart rate rises.
"5 MINUTES TO PREPARE!" He shouts. As the remaining group disperses, Josh hurries over to me, looking me up and down with a concerned look on his face. "Where's your coat?"
"It was stolen at the station," I mumble. "This hoodie is all I've got. It's plenty warm." He sighs and opens his mouth to say something.
"Jordan, Josh! Come here, come here, team up with me!" Chris whisper shouts. As Josh and I rush over to the now massive wall Chris had pushed up, I glance over across the other side of the yard. Matt, Jess, and Sam hurriedly make their pile. Jess is grinning from ear to ear as she tosses fluffy snow onto the top of their wall, contributing near nothing while Sam and Matt pack the snow in as tight as possible.
In another corner, Ashley, Mike, Emily and Beth do the same - minus Emily. She's crouched down with the others, but by the look on her face I can tell she's not enthused about putting her gloveless hands into the freezing snow. Finally, Hannah and Ashley practically bury themselves in the thick blanket of weather as if hiding themselves. I can't help but snicker at their fear as Mike shouts.
"WAR!!" He immediately throws a fat snowball at Matt's pile. Matt turns to look, and unluckily enough, gets hit directly in the center of his face.
"Fuck!! I thought we said no headshots!!" He goes down. Jess squeals in fear and excitement. Snowballs start flying everywhere. Josh, to my right, made snowballs and packed them as tightly and as spherical as he could, making a pyramid of ammo for Chris. I move in between Chris and Josh, hoping for both protection and a little bit of warmth.
"Load!" Chris shouts. I take a snowball from the pile of 'ammo' and place it into Chris's hands.
"Dude, where are your gloves?" I ask. He throws, and just before he can hide again he's hit in the shoulder.
"THAT'S ONE!!" Jess shouts excitedly. I peer over the snowfort to see her jumping up and down before Matt and Sam pull her down, just barely avoiding the wrath of Michael Munroe and Emily Davis.
"Shit, I can't believe Jess got a hit on me," Chris grumbles. I giggle as I hand him another snowball. He throws it again, and I hear Mike shout.
"You're sure you're not too cold?" Josh suddenly asks, holding a loose pile of snow in both of his hands. I look at him over my shoulder and I'm shocked to be met with what seemed like genuine concern.
"Yes, I'm sure," I assure. I'm lying, though. I wanted to ask him to let me use his coat again so badly, to bury myself in it's warmth and his smell. I shudder at the thought of being so affectionate towards him. He may soon be a friend, if the kindness continues on, but I didn't want to admit yet that I'd grown so fond of him and the things about him so quickly after I'd hated him so passionately. I turn back around and hand Chris another load before feeling Josh's arm press against mine, sitting shoulder to shoulder with me. He's so, so warm - and I think he knows this.
"THAT'S TWO!" I hear Jess cheer as Chris's glasses are knocked off of his face.
"Fuck!" Chris hisses, wiping the snow from his face. "Shit, that's so -" another hit to the back of the head interrupts him.
"YOU'RE OUT!!" Sam boasts. I peer over the diminishing cover to see who had retreated back into the lodge in defeat. Josh, Sam, Mike and I were the only ones left, Jess actively walking up the stairs as she'd just gotten 'out'. Ashley and Hannah had gotten bombarded almost immediately after the match had started, so I was unsurprised to see them on the porch, huddled together for warmth. Aside from that, I notice that Emily and Jess are whispering to each other, glancing at Hannah and Mike. I furrow my eyebrows before getting blasted in the shoulder.
"Holy shit!" I hiss. Mike threw hard.
"Hey, man, cool it!" Josh shouts as I lay behind the nearly completely destroyed wall of snow.
"Sorry!" Mike returned. I feel another one hit me. Josh kneels next to my dying form.
"Josh, I..." I start dramatically, grabbing at his shirt. "I can't go on..."
"No, c'mon Jordan, don't do this to me! We're gonna make it, okay? We can still win! There's two of us and one each of them!" I hear Sam groan in displeasure as Mike defeats her swiftly. "One of them!" Josh corrects himself. I laugh, and he ducks to barely avoid getting hit.
"I'll distract him, you go in for the kill," I whisper. Josh nods, and I let go of his shirt.
"Godspeed, pilgrim," he says. I roll over to my hands and knees, crawling - rather clumsily - out of the little cover I had.
"Not smart, are you Jordan?" Mike calls out, launching snow at me. I drop to the ground, barely dodging it. "Pure luck!"
"How much life you got left in you, Mike?" I shout back, getting back up and running, crouched, to the depleted cover Matt had built up. Unlike the others, who were now huddled together and speaking in whispers, Matt, Hannah, and Beth sat on the stairs and watched us, cheering. Matt looked stressed out, as well, as if his favorite team was close to losing.
"Hit me twice and you've bested me!" Mike calls. I manage to dodge another of his throws. As I bend down, I scoop up my own snowball and throw, barely bothering to aim. The weak snowball splits into multiple pieces, but the majority still hits him.
"THERE'S ONE!" Matt shouts. I nearly jump out of my boots. I've never seen Matt so energetic and passionate about anything before. "ONE MORE, ONE MORE, LET'S GO!" As Mike aims to throw at me again, he's hit in the chest by Joshua. Mike falls dramatically, sticking out his tongue and crossing his arms as he fell backwards to his death.
Instead of walking to Mike, Josh walks to me and helps me up. As I grin at him, he presses a snowball to my chest.
"You are dead, and victory is mine." He states, patting my shoulder. My jaw drops, and I can hear Matt and Mike laughing.
"You betrayed me, just like that?" I frown. Josh says nothing, opting instead to lean down by my ear so no one else could hear him.
"Let's get in the lodge and get you warm." He pats me on the shoulder again before walking past me and into the lodge. I huff, crossing my arms in annoyance. Some things never change. Once we're back inside, I glance at the clock. We'd been out there for a little over an hour and a half.
"Who wants hot chocolate?" Beth asks in a sing song voice. She motions towards the counter, where there was a line of steaming hot chocolates and a large, clear bowl of tiny marshmallows. I stay behind as the rest of the group crowds the counter. Josh stands with me.
"Have you spoken to my sisters this morning?" He asks, bumping his hip into mine.
"Some. Why?" I return the hit.
"I think they're scheming something." He hums. We continue hip-bumping back and forth.
"They are Washingtons, after all," I grin, dodging his last hit and going to the hot drinks. They smelled so, so good. I grab my cup and step back, my back bumping into Josh's chest. He grabs my hips gently to hold me steady as he puts his mouth next to my ear, just as he did moments before outside.
"I think they're trying to get us together," he surmises. "They're even looking at us right now." I glance up at the twins as Josh backs up a little. He was right. "Just watch out. We might get tied together, or something when we least expect it."
----------
The night is an odd one.
As soon as the sun began to set, drinks were reintroduced to the group. Unlike the night before, however, everyone was sipping rather than chugging. There's an odd tension in the air. Nearly everyone had been shooting suspicious glances at one another for the entire evening, Emily and Jess being the worst. They just kept whispering. Sam was the biggest give-away that something was afoot, her expression one of guilt and confusion. Whenever I'd tried to pry, though, I was turned away until eventually the majority had sauntered off to somewhere else.
Josh, Chris, the twins and I sat in the living room together, red solo cups with our names written on them scattered across the large coffee table. On the television, commercials no one paid attention to were running. At this moment, the man on screen was attempting to sell a non stick copper pan.
Hannah and Beth sat on either side of me. Beth wore black leggings, a thin grey sweater, and her fuzzy beanie to match, while Hannah was dressed in dark jeans and a t-shirt.
"I never noticed your tattoo," I point out, poking the design on Hannah's right shoulder. "You like butterflies?" Her face grows red as she nods and smiles, tucking her hair behind her ear. I narrow my eyes at her. What kind of a response was that? Chris and Josh bantered about some video game as Hannah and Beth began to attempt a confession from me.
"Do you like him too?"
"Do you think he's cute?"
"Would you kiss him if you got the chance?"
I grow more and more frustrated with each question, tired of repeating myself. With each 'no' and 'stop asking,' the anger continued to build inside my chest. Eventually, I stand up.
"Okay, guys, that's enough. I told you no and to leave it alone." Chris and Josh stop to look at me, the twins looking embarrassed themselves.
I don't think Josh was disgusting or anything. Unfortunately, in fact, I have continued to think the opposite as we to spend more time together. But the lack of boundaries that the twins seemed to respect had pushed me to my limits, despite their seemingly good intentions. A wave of embarrassment washes over me as they stare. Hannah and Beth are smiling, still, and the embarrassment is replaced again by anger.
"I'm going to go lay down, I think," I decide, taking a deep breath. I downed the rest of my drink quickly, setting it back down onto it's coaster rather harshly. Other than Josh, the others begin to protest. Instead of asking me to stay out, have more to drink, he stared up at me like a puppy. For some reason, that was what made me want to stay the most.
That look.
"Just a nap, just a nap," I promise as I walk towards the stairs, waving my hand over my shoulder dismissively. As fun as everything had been, my social battery and tolerance for other people had been shrinking exponentially. A part of me couldn't wait to go home.
I get to my room, flopping down onto the bed and groaning, kicking the bed. I love the twins, I really do, but the lack of boundaries and acceptance of the word 'no' was concerning and uncomfortable, to say the least. I start to drift off to sleep quickly.
Josh has been kind to me. Caring, even. I replay our interactions of the weekend over and over again in my head. He'd said it was because I was friends with his sisters and his best friend, but was that really the only reason? Kindness by association? My face grows hot when I remember the couch, his hand resting on my neck, the way he looked at me, leaning in to kiss me.
I thought he had a thing for Sam.
Just as I'm about to fade out into dreams, there's a gentle, barely audible knock on the door.
"Go away." I groan, burying my face into one of the soft feather pillows. I didn't want to see anybody right now.
"It's Josh."
"...come in."
I take my face out of the pillow to watch him. The door creaks open slowly, opening just enough for Josh to slip through. He closes it behind him as if sneaking in.
"Don't worry, I think we're in the clear. My parents are asleep," I joke. He rolls his eyes, but he's smiling. "What's with the smug face?"
"You told me to go away until you knew it was me," he says. I sit up and scoot to sit on the side of the bed, Josh coming to sit next to me. He sat close, our shoulders pressed together as usual. "I think you're starting to like me, J."
"Why did you come in here?" I ask, ignoring what he said. He chuckles.
"I wanted to check on you, is all," Josh answers. "I'm sorry about the girls, they're convinced we're meant for each other now that we're not... battling." I nod slowly as if in understanding, but all I can think about is how good he smells and how warm he is.
"It's just annoying, I guess," I shrug. "My boundaries mean a lot to me, I don't like when any of them are crossed." Josh says nothing. There's a sound at the door followed by girlish giggling, and Josh stands up quickly, his eyes wide.
"They didn't..." he says, marching to the door and grabbing the handle and shaking it wildly. "Goddamn it!"
"What? What is it?" I ask, growing worried.
"They locked us in."
"They what?" I nearly shriek, standing up with him. "What kind of door locks from the outside!?"
"It's a trick we used to do when we were kids," Josh explains as he continues to shake the handle. "There are these things that let you lock a door from the outside, it's kind of hard to explain." I scoff, pressing myself against the door.
"Hannah, Beth," I start. "Chris! Let us out! Please!?"
"In a bit!" one of the twins responds. I can't tell who is speaking through the door, their voices identical as their faces.
"I am not happy, you guys," I state. We hear them walk away hurriedly, and Josh sighs. I turn to him. "What do we do?"
"I guess we wait."
"...I don't like being trapped." I murmur, barely loud enough for him to hear me. I hold myself as if I'll fall apart. Josh looks at me with an expression I can't pinpoint. Fear? Regret? I don't have any issues with being in a small room or in any room at all - as long as I can leave at any time. I sit back onto the bed.
"Is that..." Josh starts. I look up at him. His expression is embarrassed and remorseful. "Is that because of me?"
"...yeah." I admit. Josh had locked me into lockers at least once a year when I was small enough to fit inside. I would scream and cry for at least 20 minutes each time until he let me out. The teachers at that school sucked. He says nothing, turning away.
He doesn't apologize.
"That... sucks." he mumbles. My chest hurts. Is he not sorry? His expression was remorseful but I wanted so badly for him to say it, to apologize for everything he'd put me through despite our eventual reconciliation. I say nothing, though. I hesitantly accept that an apology should never be expected from him.
Josh stays silent as he sits next to me again, though this time he's not touching me.
"They'll let us out, okay?" he says, attempting to comfort me. I don't respond, choosing instead to roll over and lay onto the bed, my back turned to him. It's petty, I know. But I was so, so uncomfortable. The inability to leave the room was crushing to me. "They'll let us out." I feel the bed shift as he moves, placing a hand on my shoulder. My instinct is to shake him off, but I would be lying if I said the physical contact didn't ground me somewhat.
We don't speak for a while, just sitting in the uncomfortable silence aside from my deep breaths in an effort to calm myself.
"Is there anything I can do?" Josh asks. His hand never leaves my shoulder. I slowly start to turn to him again.
"I don't think so," I answer. The silence continues as I very slowly make my way to sit next to him again. Eventually, I'm back in place. I barely lean against him, testing the waters. His touch was comforting and grounding, and it was what I really wanted - needed - right now. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't his arm over my shoulder pulling me into him.
Josh is warm, and much more solid than I expect. It wasn't as if he was a beef cake, but his shoulders were somewhat broad, he was lean, and it felt as if he were somewhat muscular.
I try not to think about him shirtless.
"I'm sorry for... kinda freaking out," I apologize. Josh hums in acknowledgement, rubbing my shoulder slowly and gently.
"I wouldn't consider such a calm reaction 'freaking out'," he responds. I wrap my arms around his waist in a lazy hug, and I hear his strong heartbeat quicken, my eyebrows raising slightly in surprise. Was he nervous?
"Your heart beat is fast."
"Is it?" I feel his breathing slow down as if to calm himself and his heart, but the breaths are much deeper. I let go of his waist and back up to look up at him through my eyelashes. His hand moves from my shoulder to my back, and he looks back at me with a look I can only describe as desperate.
"Yeah," I murmur. Josh's eyes move quickly around my face as if looking for something, lingering on my lips for too long. The tension is incredibly thick. "Do I make you nervous?"
"Yes."
He slowly places both of his warm calloused hands around my face, his thumb caressing my cheek bone. His mouth hangs open slightly and his breathing continues to deepen.
"I am..." he starts again. His eyes lock with mine now. "Terrified of you." My lips part as if on instinct as he slowly leans in and tilts his head slightly. Our noses touch and he pauses. He's shaking so badly. I can't help but let out an airy chuckle. My own heartbeat was so fast I was waiting to go into cardiac arrest.
"ALRIGHT, FELLAS, YOU'RE FREE TO GO!!" Beth shouts, nearly kicking down the door. Josh and I jump, and I fall off the bed and hit the ground hard.
"Shit!" I hiss, the pain rippling through my body.
"Are you okay?" Josh asks, standing to pick me up. I can hear Beth gasping loudly.
"Shit, we should've just left you guys in here," Hannah sighs. I glare at her for a split second before scrambling for the door, nearly shoving past them. "Jordan, wait!" she calls, but I ignore her. I grab Josh's winter coat, the one he lent me previously, and go outside. Instead of staying on the balcony, I trudge down the stairs and under, sitting in the corner.
For a split second I feel like I am overreacting. But I needed to be alone and out of that room. I hated being trapped, more than anything. Not being able to escape a room, not knowing when you can get out - it's torture.
I'm able to stay grounded with the warmth and smell of Josh's coat. I can't believe I almost kissed him just moments prior, and despite my raging anxiety, I smile. Then I frown. It only then occurs to me that I wanted him to kiss me. I want him to kiss me.
I want to kiss Josh.
I bury my head in my arms and laugh.

Hey y'all, once again I'd like to thank you for your patience. This chapter is really long because it's supposed to be the last day and night before the plot of the game really kicks in, but it started getting too long. Thanks for reading, next chapter soon!

A Night in the Devil's Den - Part II
So, I gotta confess, I wrote the whole story just to get to this part. Not that I don’t like the other bits, but this is my humble and inferior tribute to two of my all-time favorite stories: "Magic Fingers" by Calamity King, which you can find under that name on GSS, and one part of the amazing series by Aarvark that I think was called "Meat Market" (the transformation of Steven into Ennis is still one of my all-time faves). Unfortunally I haven’t even found it in his Aardchive. Anyway, I hope you all dig it! And if you get the chance to read both stories, do it; they’re way better than what I’m serving up here.
How the hell could someone disappear so fast? Mark thought as he tried to shove his way through the packed dance floor, looking for Fred or at least a way to the restroom. He didn’t seem more lost than the blond guy a bit older than him, and his friends, who just stepped onto the main stage, looking totally confused.
Tumblr media
Not really paying attention to what was going on up there, he kept pushing through that human jungle, hunting for his buddy. He barely noticed the music drop, the chaos around him shoving or blocking his way to the stage. He could hear catcalls, boos, and every now and then, some random words or phrases.
“...ever been to Texas?”
“...how much do you weigh?”
“...how much can you lift?”
“...looks like Clint Eastwood...”
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the music blasted again from the speakers, making him lose his balance and grab onto the muscular arm of an older dude to keep from falling. When the hell did the place get so packed with guys?
“Sorry, man,” he said to the grumpy guy.
“No worries, kid; if you need a hand with anything else…” the dude said, making an obscene gesture with his hand and mouth.
“...no thanks!” Mark replied, backing away as fast as he could from that sketchy figure. Finally spotting a wall close to the stage. Stopping to catch his breath, he noticed a very muscular blond guy dressed as a cowboy flexing his powerful muscles, driving the crowd wild.
Tumblr media
“Crap, Jamie put us in a gay bar!” he exclaimed, totally dazed. But then he saw a sign pointing to the restrooms right behind the stage. Thinking he’d find Fred and then grab Jamie and kick his ass back to the hostel for that screw-up, he headed that way. But instead of the bathroom, he ended up in the empty backstage area. After taking a few disoriented steps, he decided to turn back because that was definitely not the path Fred took. He had barely walked when someone called out to him.
Tumblr media
“Hey, kid! What the hell are you doing here?” Turning quickly to apologize and find the fastest way to the restroom, Mark found himself face to face with the cowboy from the show—holy crap, he looked like a jacked-up Clint Eastwood! He thought, gaping at the tattooed chest of the giant.
“Kid, you good?” the man asked, looking genuinely concerned.
“Y-Yeah… sorry, I need… bathroom.”
“Ohh, I get it… just go this way.” The man replied with a sly grin, which Mark seemed to miss as he followed the direction the guy pointed.
Tumblr media
He found himself in a narrow hallway lit by a few lights, and at the end of it… he was on stage! “What the hell is this?!” he shouted, but no one heard him over the crowd’s cheers.
“Ladies and gentlemen, here’s your favorite host, Mr. Shay! Please welcome our newest participant!” a voice boomed from the other side of the stage.
“Who the hell is a lady?!!!” someone in the crowd roared.
“Alright, you bunch of degenerates! Let’s give it up for Mark Jordan!” the voice continued as the crowd half-cheered, half-booed. As Mark turned toward the voice, he got the shock of his life. The guy from the club entrance was there, without his suit jacket, showing off his muscular torso, but it wasn’t that which caught the young man’s attention; it was the pair of ram horns sprouting from the guy’s head. After the initial shock, the young man rationalized it as just stage props.

I need to get outta here, Mark thought, turning to leave, only to find the door was locked.
“Calm down, kid; just answer a few questions, and we’ll let you walk outta here unscathed and a grand richer!”
“A grand?” he asked, making the horned man smile.
“He’s in! The dude shouted, sending the audience into a frenzy. “So, Mark, tell us more about yourself!”
Tumblr media
“How do you know my name?”
“Your buddy Jamie spilled the beans!”
“Son of a bitch!” Mark cursed.
“Calm down, kid; we’re a classy joint!” Mr. Shay mocked as the crowd howled. “And you haven’t told us anything about yourself yet, Mark; this can’t keep going on! Got any nicknames?”
“Nope.”
“Really? How much do you weigh?”
“Uh, maybe around 170?”
“Seriously? I thought you were heavier; you look like you’ve got some muscle under that preppy outfit,” the guy scoffed.
“Well… I… I work out regularly…”
“No kidding, do you lift weights???"
“Nah, I’m on the track team; I wanna run a marathon someday.”
“Okay, then…”
“More!” someone in the crowd shouted.
“Looks like they’re into you, kid.”
“Yeah… seems that way…” Mark murmured, flustered.
Tumblr media
“You seem pretty tall, Mark; how tall are you?”
“Actually, I’m not that tall. I’m 5’8” and that’s if I’m wearing taller shoes,” the kid tried to joke, only to get booed by the crowd, quickly shrinking back.
“Leave the kid alone, you vultures. So I think we have enough…”
“More!!!” someone shouted again.
“My God, Mark, you really won the crowd over. But our time is short. What do you do for a living, kid?”
“I… I’m in pre-law college.” The kid replied, his voice trembling, fearing the crowd’s reaction, and rightly so, as a new wave of boos erupted from the audience.
“Hmm… I see. But you’re of age, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. How old are you, anyway?”
“I… I… twenty… I’m twenty… three, yeah, twenty-three years old.” He replied, thinking of the first number that came to mind.
“A year behind? Must’ve been all those parties you hit up! Bet you love being the center of attention, huh?”
“Uh-huh, not really…”
“More, more!”
“Alright, one last question then? Have you ever been outta the country, Mark?”
“No, I was born and raised in America, but once I graduate, I plan to check out some place… Italy, maybe?” he replied, thinking about the hot chicks at the hostel.
“Perfect! So music for Mark!” the man shouted, and the speakers on stage exploded in unison. However, Mark didn’t seem to hear the deafening noise, trapped in his own thoughts. He felt his mind expanding and contracting, as if a ton of info was being pulled from him and another load was being added. But to anyone watching from the outside, all they saw was the young guy smiling dreamily to the music, that is, until he started to age and grow. As the years passed him by, his muscle mass increased, and a beard sprouted. In no time, one could see the natural path the young man’s body would have taken if he had put in a little more work, with light brown hair growing longer, a stubbly beard covering the strong chin that the loss of baby fat would reveal. Then he began to pack on pounds and pounds of pure muscle, while his hair darkened and shrank back in size, and his beard grew fuller. His arms became a combination of cannonball biceps with horseshoe triceps and onion shoulders; his pecs widened into two slabs of juicy meat, and his abs turned into a brick wall. The polo he was wearing transformed into an old t-shirt, and the khakis he was in shrank down to extremely short running shorts, showcasing his lean, defined legs. Legs that wouldn’t stay that way for long, starting with his feet, which grew absurdly, leaving his sneakers in tatters and exposing to the world his giant paws with long, wide toes covered in a fine layer of black fur. Next, his calves expanded to the point where it looked like someone had shoved a football into each one, and finally his thighs, as wide as support columns, bulging the shorts to their limit, making it unthinkable that this man could ever run a marathon. As the music started to fade, the man flexed one of his powerful biceps and then turned around, showing his bubble butt to the crowd, before finally lifting his shirt provocatively, revealing his six-pack while flexing both arms and smiling at the audience.
“A round of applause, gentlemen, for our incredible participant.” Mr. Shay's voice announced excitedly. “Now let’s recap our questions.
“So, Mark…”
“Marco,” the man interrupted.
“Sorry, I didn’t catch that…” the demon man replied, with a smile that said he totally understood.
“My name isn’t Mark, it’s Marco.”
“But you said your name was Mark Jordan, a pre-law student, 23 years old, and a member of the track team.”
“That’s the character you asked me to play, Mr. Shay, as if you didn’t know me well enough. College? I had no interest in that, and running? You think a dude my size could run long distances? I wouldn’t dream of losing a single pound of muscle.
“Indeed, so how about you tell us a bit more about yourself? If you didn’t go to college, what do you do for a living?”
“Come on, man, like everyone here hasn’t seen me and fapped for me.” Marco replied with arrogance. “Or are you gonna say you’ve never seen a porn with me? I’m sure I’ve seen at least 30 OF subscribers in the audience.
“Porn? With just 23 years, you probably haven’t done many…”
“23? Try 32! But even back then I was a star in the industry.” He said, drawing boos from the crowd.
“Shut up, you idiots, or you won’t see any more of this!” He said, taking off his shirt and massaging his powerful pecs, grinning provocatively before flexing his arms, raising the ambient temperature several degrees.
Tumblr media
“Calm down, Marco; we’re among friends here. A man your size has to be careful; you must measure what? At least 6’3” and weigh over 250 pounds?”
“Way off, but I’m sure any of these pervs in the audience could tell you I measure 6’8” and weigh 300 pounds of pure muscle.”
“Interesting...”
“What’s not interesting about me?” Marco shot back provocatively, as if ready to start a fight for any reason, before bursting into laughter at a new wave of cheers from the crowd, relishing the attention directed at him.
“Calm down, Marco; I just find it interesting that an Italian guy uses our measurement system so well.” Mr. Shay replied as Marco went through one last transformation. His hair changed from dark brown to pitch black, and his already tanned skin took on an olive tone very close to Mr. Shay’s, further accentuating his powerful muscles, which expanded a bit more, etched with bulging veins, and his abs became a powerful roid gut, which could justify all the bravado of the man, who at that moment continued to smile as Mr. Shay announced.
Tumblr media
“Marco Giordani, The Italian Stallion, and his incredible portrayal of an American college student! Congratulations, Marco; it’s always a pleasure to have you with us.” He said as the man waved at the audience, soaking up the attention.
Tumblr media
“Now I’ll take my leave and let you enjoy Marco’s special show.” Mr. Shay concluded, throwing a provocative look at the Italian man, inviting him to join him later. Before turning to the audience once more. “But don’t worry, after his show, the night still holds many surprises.”

Professor Jackman (WattPad request)
Tumblr media
I tapped my pencil repeatedly on my essay as I tried to figure out how to write about our topic for the week. My college classroom was completely silent, besides the sounds of my mechanical pencil hitting my notebook. I mindlessly looked up, seeing my Professor, Professor Jackman staring at me almost amused at my disruption of the classroom, which caused me to blush nervously and quickly drop the pencil.
Professor Jackman was a young, handsome Professor. He was around 27 years old and taught our English Literature college class. He joined our University this year, and this was his first time in America. This was my first year at University, also my first semester. I was attending college for a degree in business management, but had been required to take a college skilled English Lit class before I could proceed with a degree. I had turned 18 earlier this year, celebrating with my best friend, Bianca, who was also placed in the English Lit class.
We'd spend hours after class discussing how hot we thought our professor was. The way he smiled, his accent, the way he smelled and the way he always showed up in a casual suit. Another fellow classmate attempted to flirt with him, other teachers would flirt with him, he'd always shrug them off in an effort to maintain professionalism. Not to mention, a student-teacher relationship is extremely forbidden and grounds for termination.
I gave him a nervous smile as I quickly picked my pencil back up and went back to my essay. I was at a complete loss. Professor Jackman had assigned us to read a book about the life of Henrietta Lacks, which required an essay to be written for the exam.
"Ms. Jordan?" I heard Professor Jackman's voice say, causing me to look up from the still blank paper.
"Yes, Professor?" I asked anxiously.
"Can we have a moment outside?" He asked, giving me firm look, which caused me to shutter.
He was a no non-sense teacher. He did not put up with insubordination whatsoever. He was strict, but genuinely wanted his class to succeed.
I nodded as I quickly got up from my desk and walked towards the classroom door, entering the empty hallway, he followed behind me, softly closing the door to avoid disrupting the other students.
"Is everything okay, Ms. Jordan?" He asked me.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I looked at his beautiful face. "Yes, Professor. Everything's fine. I'm just having a difficult time with my essay." I said nervously.
He gave me a slight nod, "Once we dismiss, I'd like to speak with you again." He said sternly.
I nodded, "Yes, sir." I said as I walked back into the class and sat back at my desk.
As I went back to my essay, I couldn't help but glance around the room. I kept noticing the professor stealing glances at me. Each time I'd lock eyes with him, he'd give me a small smile and look down at the stack of papers he was mindlessly grading on his desk. I couldn't help but let my mind run wild as I continued catching him stealing glances at me. I wondered what he was thinking about or why he kept continuing to look at me, not bothering to look at the other students.
As our day came to an end, the Professor told the class to turn their papers in by placing them in a basket on his desk. Each student got up, but I stayed behind, waiting for everyone to clear the room. Bianca noticed and mouthed to me, 'what are you doing?', I sighed, mouthing back with a panicked expression on my face, 'I'm in trouble'.
As everyone else exited the class, I made my way up to his desk, sitting my blank paper down. He got up and closed the door after the other students had left. He sat on top of his desk and looked at me curiously, a smile appearing on his lips. "What seems to be the problem?" He asked casually, as he grabbed my blank paper.
I sighed, nervously running my fingers through my hair. "I'm not very good at essays...Unless it's a topic that I'm passionate about." I said honestly.
He smirked at me, "So I have to give you a topic that fascinates you?"
I chuckled softly, "I'm sorry, Professor. I'm just being honest. If I'm not invested in what I'm reading, it's hard for me to write about it."
He shifted on his desk, looking at me with a playful smirk, "What would you say fascinates you?" He asks.
I shrugged with a small giggle, "You really want to know what fascinates me?"
He chuckled softly, "You're my star student. I'd love to know many things about you."
I gave him a look, furrowing my brow. "I'm your star student?" I asked in disbelief.
He smirked, "Your grades are fairly decent. You're admired by your peers... I'm starting to get quite smitten with you myself."
I almost choked on my saliva as I widened my eyes, taking a deep breath. "You're smitten with me? What is going on right now?" I asked, chuckling.
He chuckled at my reaction, "Ms. Jordan, you're a beautiful 18-year-old woman. I'm smitten with you. And I've also overheard you and your friend Bianca talk about me during class."
I blushed instantly, feeling my cheeks becoming hot. Bianca and I had made comments recently about how unbelievably hot we found him. It was the day Bianca decided to "accidentally" drop her journal in front of him and slowly bend over to see if he would react to her. Which did not work out in her favor.
He smiled, "I have to say, I'm flattered you find me...What was the word you used, Ms. Jordan? Dreamy?" He laughed softly.
I laughed, "I did say that..." I said softly as I mentally face palmed myself.
He slid off the desk and got closer to my face, "I think you're dreamy too, love." He said flirtatiously.
 I giggled, "Professor, I-"
He quickly cut me off, "Class has been dismissed. You can call me Hugh. I don't expect you to call me Professor outside of class hours." He said sweetly, giving me a smile.
This was starting to get less creepy.
He chuckled, "I had you stay over because I was going to offer to help you with your essay."
I gave him a look, raising my brow, "Isn't that against the rules?" I chuckled.
He laughed softly, with a nod, "Well...There are a lot of things that are against the rules that I've said in this exchange, but me helping you with an essay would not be the worst one."
I laughed as I sat back down at one of the desks. For the next hour, he sat at a nearby desk and helped me with my essay. Occasionally, he'd sneak his arm over my shoulder or steal a glance at me. Although I tried focusing on the essay, I couldn't help but think back to him telling me he was smitten with me. He'd noticed my mind was preoccupied, so he took it upon himself to write a majority of the essay himself.
I looked at the perfectly written essay, "There we go. And you're done." He said with a smile as he placed the paper on his desk to grade with the others.
I smiled, "I appreciate that...But you didn't have to write it for me. I don't want to get you in trouble." I said softly.
He shook his head, placing his hand over the top of mine. "No worries, love. Just keep this between you and I." He said softly as his fingers caressed mine.
I nodded, giving him a smile before quickly thanking him and skipping out of the classroom to head home. As I'd driven home, I felt my phone buzz.
Professor Jackman: You left your pencil.
The text read aloud through the bluetooth in my car. I giggled, realizing he used my pencil as an excuse to text me. I grabbed my phone, texting him back.
Me: Did I? Thank you for reminding me. I was distracted by a dreamy professor and must've forgotten it.
Professor Jackman: Touche... I would've forgotten my pencil too.
I chuckled at his response before pulling up at home.
As the semester went on, the Professor and I had become a little too close. He spent the remainder of the semester writing my essays, coming over for late night 'study sessions' at my apartment to ensure that I'd pass his class. The study sessions were typically spent with maybe 30 minutes of actual studying, with the remainder of the night spent cuddling and making out on my couch. Other students had begun noticing him start to favor me, which had begun causing problems.
The one person I didn't expect it to cause problems with, was Bianca. She'd become increasingly suspicious. I was never available after class to hang out, or on weekends anymore. She noticed how I'd started purposely wearing low cut tops to class and how the professor would always praise me a bit more than the others and use me as the example student for a majority of demonstrations.
"Enjoy it while it lasts, he's a creep!" She spat at me.
I rolled my eyes, "Why are you acting like this? Were you not literally bending over purposely to get him to look at your ass?" I yelled back.
She chuckled, "I was, but I guess I just wasn't good enough! It's all good though boo, I'm sure Principle Ayers would love to hear this." She said as she hung up on me.
As I paced my apartment on the verge of a panic attack for the next hour, there was a knock on my door. I quickly ran to the door and opened it, seeing him standing there. I looked at him frantically, which caused his expression to go from a smile to a look of concern.
"Love, what's wrong?" He asked as he quickly walked in, closing the door behind him.
I took a deep, trembling breath, "Bianca is telling Principle Ayers." I said shakily, avoiding eye contact with him.
He pulled me into his arms, "Did you tell her about us?" He asked as he stroked my hair.
I shook my head, "No. She figured it out on her own. And I think the last time she was here, she went through my phone..." I said softly.
He sighed as he held me tightly, "I asked you to delete those..." He said, softly scolding me.
I sighed, "I know, I know. I just wasn't expecting this to happen."
He looked down at me, pulling away slightly to see my face, "Everything will be fine, love... We're both consenting adults. Yes, it's forbidden but the worst that can happen would be I'd lose my job." He chuckled, "I can easily find another."
I looked at him seriously, "You're not worried about losing your job?"
He smiled at me, "You're worth the risk, love." He cheekily winked at me before softly kissing my lips, "I love you." He said suddenly with a smile.
I looked at him for a minute before responding, "I... love you too." I said, gazing into his eyes.
He smiled at me, blushing slightly, "I brought your favorite - Reese's Cups and a Dr. Pepper." He said cheekily as he handed me a bag that contained a pack of Reese's and a drink.
I smiled as I grabbed it, "Aww, you didn't have to do that." I said giggling as I sat the bag down and sat down on the couch.
He smirked, "I know they're your favorite and I wanted to surprise you." He said as he sat down beside me on the couch, pulling me into his chest.
His phone began ringing, he grabbed it noticing it was Principle Ayers calling.
"Mrs. Ayers." He said as he answered the call and gave me a 'stay calm' look as he turned the phone on speaker.
"Mr. Jackman." She said before continuing, "There has been a situation brought to my attention that I need to speak with you about."
He nodded at me, "Yes ma'am, go ahead." He said calmly.
She sighed through the phone, "Mr. Jackman, I hate to have this conversation with you, but it has been brought to my attention that you're having an inappropriate relationship with a student."
He took a deep breath, laughing softly, "Mrs. Ayers, I can assure you that is simply not the truth."
She chuckled, "This particular student has a history of not performing well academically... I did not necessarily believe her story, but I do have to investigate all accusations. The only thing I will tell you, is if there is a particular student that you're interested in pursuing a romantic relationship with,  please wait until the end of the semester when the student is no longer in your class." She said, knowingly.
He nodded, "Ah. I do appreciate you for calling and informing me of the matter." He said simply as they ended the call. He looked over at me and gave me a small smile, running his fingers through his dark colored hair, "All good, love." He said matter of factly.
I giggled as I squeezed him tightly before pecking his lips. "So we have exactly two more weeks of being a secret." I mumbled against his lips.
He giggled against my lips, "I can assure you that after your semester ends, I fully intend on you no longer being my dirty little secret, sweetheart."

Mentions of Sydney's Other Parent
Extracted from the game’s code (30th October 2024)
During the English Play Rehearsal, when following Kylar back to his Manor with Sydney.
You eventually reach the manor. Sydney looks shocked when you and Kylar stop. "Don't tell me... you actually still live here, Kylar?"
Kylar looks down and nods. Sydney examines the manor from a distance, noticing the temple's symbol on a pillar by the entrance.
(If Kylar’s parents trust is more than 80)
"It was a mess for so long, but it's starting to look... lived in."
(If Kylar’s parents trust is more than 40)
"I thought someone else was getting ready to move in, it's been a mess for so long, but it looks like someone's been cleaning up."
(If Kylar’s parents trust is less than 40)
"It's all... run down, how do you..."
Without responding, Kylar starts walking the main path. He looks back at you one last time, before disappearing into the manor.
The emotion on Sydney's face is hard to read.
> Still?
"What do you mean 'still'?" you ask Sydney.
"Kylar and I, when we were younger, we..." he pauses for a moment. "Our parents knew each other. We... saw each other a lot. I used to come over, it was... nice."
He examines the temple symbol on the pillar again. "Eventually, I just wasn't allowed to come over anymore. My (sydneyOtherParent*) said... no, nevermind. That's not important."
*mother/father, depending on Sirrus’ gender. If Sirrus is a male then sydneyOtherParent will be a female, and vice versa.
Dialogue from the Temple
"A question with so many answers. To whom do you speak? I am not the only one before you." He chuckles to himself. "I am the bishop."
"Father."
"Holy one."
"These two are my hands."
"Right."
"Left."
"We are, all of us, confessors. You've seen us. We've seen you. We simply blend into the background. We handle matters too... ugly... for those of Jordan's flock."
"Ignorance."
"Bliss."
>”remember"
"Ahh, so you do remember our first meeting. I knew you were a person of interest as soon as I heard about you getting out of that manor."
"Destiny?"
"Providence?"
>”jordan"
The bishop laughs. Hard. He throws his head back, and wipes a tear from his face. "Get comfortable, sweet child." All the other dark-robed figures sit down.
"Jordan's flock is the face of our order. They take confessions. They give alms, and run the soup kitchen, and smite the creatures from the other side that creep through the holes. But they won't ever harm... us. Humans. They're powerless against humans who have fallen to corruption. This is why we're needed."
He delights in speaking. "Without us, the temple would have fallen long ago. In fact, it did, once. Jordan and his order can stir soup, and spar, and fight monsters of mist and sin, but ask yourself this:
(If you know about Kylar’s parents)
Could they ever exact justice on your girlfriend’s/boyfriend’s* parents? And leave their child behind?
*depending on Kylar’s gender.
(If you don’t know about Kylar’s parents)
Could they ever fight the human monsters? No, if Jordan knew what we were capable of, it would cause another schism. But make no mistake. Jordan is our brother. Family. Kin. We all work towards the same goal. We all seek to protect. We all seek to rid the world of the Dark Elk's taint."
He pauses, and frowns. "More than that, Jordan is strong. Stronger than all of us. Stronger than we could ever hope to be. His innocence makes him so. That innocence is a shield, one that the Children of Auriga can never pierce. Belief is real, more real than the Elk's vile spawn. It is vital that Jordan remains unaware of what we do, lest our shield splinter. The seal of confession must hold, or all the world will drown."
"Our greatest strength."
"Our greatest weakness."
(If Sydney is Pure:)
He sighs. "We've only one member that could hope to match Jordan's innocence."
(If Sydney is not pure:)
He sighs. "We only had one other member that could hope to match Jordan's innocence."
>”replacement"
He grins.
(If PC if promised to Sydney)
"You should know, child. It's your beloved. Sydney."
(If PC is romancing Sydney)
"You should know, child. You've had many relations with him. Our own little Sydney."
(Else)
"I believe you've met him. Our own little Sydney."
(If Sydney is Corrupt + promised to Sydney)
"Together, As One."
"Forever, As One."
(If Sydney is Corrupt)
"Withered."
"Bloomed."
"You went and spoilt him, did you not? His innocence is gone. You couldn't have known, child, and you've made it up to us by being here now.
He’s been in the flock for years, but has been stifled by the overprotective Jordan.
(If Sydney is a monk)
I understand you're to thank for him finally passing the trial of anguish. You have our thanks for that."
(If Sydney is not a monk)
The poor boy has never been able to pass the trial of anguish.
The bishop looks down and frowns. You think you see a hint of genuine sadness. "Sydney's (mother/father) was Jordan's predecessor. A good (man/woman). We've looked after Sydney ever since. If nothing else, we're paying back a debt."
When walking along the beach with Sydney (Random dialogue)
"My (mother/father) used to bring me to the beach when I was a lot younger. This is nice."
Also mentioned by the Ivory Wraith here.

Quinn, June 22nd, 2018
“Viv?” The nickname falls from my mouth uncontrollably, something I haven’t said in a long time.
This is Jack’s childhood best friend? If Jack hadn’t warned me she was coming I wouldn’t have recognized her.
Her previously short brown hair was now a golden blonde, and long past her shoulders. Her eyes still a crystal blue but her face slimmer and cheekbones are higher and more visible.
The only thing that hasn’t changed is her smile. Big and quirky, with perfect and white teeth on display. That was her mother’s biggest flex, was having perfect teeth since birth.
“Quinn.” She says as a greeting, and that’s enough for me.
“Your brother here?” I ask, noticing his absence. Normally, where Jordan goes, Viv goes.
“He’s in Boston still, I think he’s gonna try to make it next week.” She explains, looking between Luke and Jack. She nods them a quick hello in acknowledgment, which they return. I know Jacks itching to drag her away someplace to catch up.
“Good, I haven’t seen him in a while.” I reply, unsure of what to say.
“Neither have I.” Her smile sort of fades, I clue in that there’s more to the story I don’t know about. I won’t press.
Jack clears his throat, “Well,” he claps his hands together, saving us all from an awkward conversation. “Vivienne, did you know we got a hot tub? It fits six people. Can you believe that?” He sells it quite well, making her smile appear again.
“No. But with that enthusiasm I want to.” She laughs quietly, following Jack out the back doors.
Luke and I turn to each other and shrug, then continue our game of pool. We’ll get our chance to catch up.
I don’t know what went on outside, but when dinner was ready they came in laughing like no time had passed. It’s good to see that side of Jack again.
“Look who it is.” My dad laughs from the couch, taking notice of Viv.
She beams at him, rushing to give him a hug. My dad’s always see her as one of his own, now’s no different.
I hear a mumbled ‘so good to see you’ from the kitchen where I grab plates to set the tables. “Thank you Quinn.” Mom pats my shoulder, I send her a small smile in return.
“-and he left everything with that chick from Jersey?! I can’t believe him.” Bethany rolls her eyes, before pulling her hands from the countertop to rub her temples.
She’s been complaining about Vivienne’s biological dad for the past half hour. I think I’ve heard enough for the next hundred.
“We can’t always control other people’s actions Beth, plus he was always a ‘you know what’.” Mom raises her brows in knowing toward Beth, who just sighs.
“I know, but it affects her.” Beth gestures to Viv who laughs along with my dad at something, clueless.
“It’s really a conversation for another time El.” Beth says, sending me a glance from the kitchen. She knows I’m listening in the dining room.
“I totally understand, we’ll talk later.”
“Quinn?” Luke nudges my shoulder to grab my attention, then points to a dish full of green beans that sits just out of his reach. I pass it to him.
Somehow the kids table still exists between us, and we sit outside on the deck whilst the ‘adults’ sit inside in the air conditioning.
“So you decided to stay another year?” Viv adds into the conversation, speaking up for the first time in a while.
“Yeah, I like it in Mich. I think Vancouver can wait a year.” I say, before forking a bite of salad to avoid details.
“I’ll just miss you in Michigan next year then.” She raises an eyebrow at me, without a further explanation.
“What do you mean?” I instantly regret talking, remembering the food still in my mouth. She doesn’t notice.
“I’m looking at going to Umich next year. ” She says casually, which takes me by surprise. I remember when I got accepted I was itching to tell everyone, it was the best thing that happened to me before the draft.
“Good for you.” I say genuinely, nodding to her. I mean it. “Anything else new with you?”
She thinks, “Not really. Still dating Nash on and off, still have the same friends.”
“Nash is a beast to play against.” I comment, reminiscing in past hockey games I’ve played against him.
“Yeah he’s definitely something.” She laughs weakly to herself. I can’t help but feel like I’m missing so many pieces to these stories.
“He treating you good?” Jack asks. He cares about her for sure, no one would question that. It’s not a crush of love or something. He just cares.
“For the most part yeah, it’s hard when he lives so far away now though.” She says, filling in more blanks for me. It’s like piecing together a puzzle with her.
“Have you been in touch with anyone from the lake?” I ask, pry more like.
“No. It’s been a long few years.” She says, confident in her answer without giving out too much.
“I think we should all get together, like old times. What do you say?” Jack wraps his arm around Vivienne’s shoulder and she shrugs.
“That sounds nice actually.” She smiles sweetly at us, like we made her day.
“I’ll set something up.” Jack smiles at her, she nods in response.
She’s never crossed my mind like this. Or ever for that matter. I mean, she’s my brothers best friend.
I find myself frustrated over the lack of service we have in the house. It’s eleven, and everyone’s already asleep. I’m searching for her instagram, just for a look.
Nothings loading.
I decided to take a walk down the property to the best spot at the edge of the beach. It’s cold, unlike the heat from earlier. Though I’m not sure what I was expecting.
I find a spot on a washed up log down by the water, and pull out my phone.

So she’s still together with Nash. That post was two months ago, but if they’d broken up she would have deleted it.
I shove my phone back in my pocket. Why do I care?
“What are you doing out here?” The voice startled me, and I turn to face Viv.
She stands in her pjs and her hair in a messy bun, and glasses? Since when?
I’m suddenly self conscious of my outfit, a leafs t shirt and basketball shorts. Since our bedrooms don’t have ac we have to compensate.
“I was gonna ask you the same thing.” I say, recovering from the heart attack she nearly gave me.
“Can I sit?” She shifts her gaze to the empty space beside and I nod.
She mutters and thank you and sits down on my left, “Since when did you have glasses?” I ask, pointing to her clear frames.
“I always did, just never wore them. Contacts are the way to go.” She nods, looking out to the water. Her face is barely visible, just the faint shading from the dim house lights behind us.
“They suit you.” I compliment.
She smiles, though her lips stay shut. “I always thought Jack would’ve made fun of me because of them.” She says, tapping the rim of the frames.
I laugh quietly, “That sounds like something he’d do.”
It goes quiet for a moment, except it’s a comfortable silence. I don’t dare to break it.
“I think this is the longest conversation we’ve ever had.” She states, breaking the silence.
“Probably.” I say dryly. I feel a loss of words with her. She feels like a stranger that I know so well, and all I want to do is make her a friend.
She sighs, “I missed the lake.”
I gather up the courage to ask her, “Why haven’t you came the past few years then?”
She glances at me, her eyes deep. She looks away. “I had no say in it. My dad was convinced it was an ‘unsafe environment to grow up in’.”
I’ve never met her dad, only a few boyfriends her mom has had over the years. They never stay long.
“Bring him here, he’ll change his mind.” I suggest, looking at our surroundings.
She swallows deeply, like she’s holding something back.
“He died.”
Vivienne, June 22nd, 2018
“Vivienne, I’m so sorry. I had no idea.” Quinn says frantically, torn over his choice of words.
“It’s okay.” I comfort him, “There’s no way you could have known.”
“That’s doesn’t mean I don’t feel like shit for it. Are you okay?” He asks, his eyes wide and glossy, and so very blue.
“I am now, that’s all that matters.” I smile, though I know it’s weak.
He ponders for a moment, “Do you need anything?”
“Just stay here with me for a little while longer.” Is all I can think of.
“Of course.” He says, looking at the water with me. The moons reflects and breaks off in the small waves.
“Does Jack know?” He asks, his eyes still set on the water.
“No. You’re the first one I’ve told.” I sniffle. I’m not sure when the tears started but I find myself struggling to hold them back.
He glances at me, noticing the tears welling on my waterline. He hesitates, a thousand things running through his mind.
He brings his left arm up hesitantly and lays it around my shoulders, pulling me closer. I lean my head against his shoulder and lower it. His right hand rests on my left cheek, pressing my face against his chest.
“I’m sorry.” He mumbles quietly.
I must’ve fell asleep, because when I woke up, Quinn was carrying me bridal style up the stairs from the beach to the house. He might not look like it, but that man is strong.
I don’t open my eyes, I could’ve, but my body and mind are too exhausted to even comprehend what’s going on.
He fumbled with the front door, before gently pressing it open. I feel his hands move beneath my spine as he closed it behind him.
He walks down the hall and into my room, familiar with the layout of the house.
He sets me gently onto the right side of my bed, then grabs a blanket off the chair in the corner and drapes it over top of me.
Leaning close, he gently pulls off my glasses and sets them on the night stand. With a soft tap on my shoulder he was gone, and I was left alone.
Vivienne, June 24th, 2018
Jack planned (surprisingly) a night at their house to get everyone back together. The day previous we drove the thirty minutes into town to pick up hotdogs and marshmallows. It was worth it.
The two of us set up the lights on the deck, stocked the coolers, and by the end, we were exhausted.
“It’s only three-thirty, I told everyone to come by at five-ish.” Jack says, dropping into a patio chair.
I wipe the line of sweat that gathered across my brows, “We could go for a swim?” I suggest.
His eyes light up, “Race?” He jumps up, giving me no warnings.
I chase him down the stairs and across the lawn to the dock, cursing him out for leaving me behind without warning.
We skid to a stop at the edge of the dock once we remember we’re still wearing clothes. I kick my sandals off as fast as I can, pull my shirt off and slip out of my shorts to reveal the lilac bikini I wore underneath.
“Wow.” Jack says, scanning over me.
I send him a glare, then remember the reason we’re here. I jump in at the end of the dock before he can.
He cannonballs beside me, splashing water up my nose. I rush to blow it out, “That was gross.” I complain, wiping my nose.
“That’s what you get for cheating me out of a win.” He states, pulling himself onto the dock and reaching his hand down to grab mine. “Don’t you dare pull me in.”
“I won’t.” I promise, grabbing his hand as he pulls me up.
“You do look good.” He winks, and I shove his shoulder in response.
“I’ll take that as a compliment.” I squeeze the water out of my hair.
“It is one.” He says.
I laugh, and tie my hair into a low pony. “Dock wrestling?”
“Bet.”
From the hour of wrestling I have four new bruises forming on my legs, arms, and hip. He got me good. Considering he’s not a skinny twelve year old anymore, I don’t know why I thought I stood the chance.
He throws me a towel and I wrap it around my shoulders, shivering in the cool house.
“Cold?” He laughs, unfazed by the temps fire change. He stands with a glass of water on the opposite side of the counter.
“Very.” He pours his lip, before taking another sip of water. “If you don’t that again I’ll hit you with this.” I threaten, holding the towel up.
“Fine, I wont do it again.” He surrenders, placing the glass on the counter.
The front door knocks three times before opening, two boys enter with a holler. Matthew and Brady, the Tkachuk brothers. I wonder where Taryn is.
“Where’s Quinny boy at? I got him a present.” Matthew yells to no one in particular. He holds up a gift bag.
“Can you go check him and Luke’s rooms? Send them down here?” Jack asks me, giving me his best pleading eyes.
“Fine.” I say, wrapping my towel tightly around my chest before sprinting up the stairs to the boys rooms before Matthew or Brady takes notice of me.
I’m not up here often, so figuring out which door was who’s was very confusing.
I knock at the first one, the door closed fully. “Luke? Quinn?” I say, opening the door slightly.
Luke lays shirtless on the floor in front of a fan. “What?” He mumbles into the floor.
“Jack wants you downstairs.”
“I’ll be down in a bit.”
I close the door behind me and walk down the hall. I assume the wide open door and empty room beside Lukes is Jacks, so I turn to the other side of the hall where only one door stands, cracked open slightly.
I knock lightly, “Hello?” I push the door open when I don’t get a response.
The room is a dark navy blue, with various hockey posters and family photos scattered throughout. The floor has clothes littered throughout and the door beside the closet is closed. The bathroom.
“Quinn?” I say, before entering the room. I knock on the bathroom door.
“Yeah?” Quinn shouts from the other side over top of the faint fan sound coming from inside.
“It’s Vivienne, Jack wants you downstairs.”
There’s a brief silence, “I can’t hear you. You can open the door.”
I hesitate at the handle before opening it. Quinn stands with in his boxers alone, leaning over the counter with a razor, his face a quarter covered with shaving cream.
He glances over at me, his face surprised. “I thought you were Luke.” He says, finishing a last stroke before rinsing the razor off.
I clear my throat, avoiding glancing anywhere where I shouldn’t. “No, uh, Jack asked me to come grab you.”
He turns back to the mirror, and picks the razor up again. “Why?”
I can’t help it, his arms are toned and slim, his abs the same. Is it hot in here or what? “The Tkachuks are here.”
“Everyone? Or just the boys.” He rinses his razor off a gain.
“Just the boys.” I say, leaning against the door frame.
“Could you grab my shorts from by my bed?” He asks, referencing his lack of clothing that thickens the tension.
I nod, not trusting myself with words. I grab the black shorts and bring them to him, I face my back to him for extra privacy.
“You don’t have to do that, you’ve already seen me in my underwear. It’s not like I’m stripping.” He reasons, and I listen to him tie the drawstrings. My cue to turn around.
“I’d want the privacy.” I explain and he nods in understanding.
“Yeah there’s no problem in that.” He says, then turns to me. “Did I miss a spot?” He asks, pointing to his for the most part, clean face.
I point to a section on hus jaw, “just missing a piece here.”
“Can you do it?”
“What?”
“Can you do it? The mirrors so fogged it’s worse for me to do it than you.” He asks, holding the razor out.
I reluctantly take it, “If I cut you, you can’t blame me.” I waiver.
“Go ahead.” He backs up to sit atop the counter, leaning forward to my height.
I gently place my left hand in his hair line and tilt his head to the left, the razor glides over his jaw smoothly. Tension fills the room, and I’m not sure if it’s the steamy air from a previous shower that makes it harder to breathe, or that Quinn Hughes is shirtless in front of me, alone.
He keeps his eyes steady on me, and I fight every living cell inside of me that wants to be nervous. Since when did he made me feel like that?
Maybe time did fill out its own complicated story.
I finish with the razor and place it on the counter to his left. His eyes follow my movements as I grab a cloth and wet it. I bring it to his face and wipe the faint remains of shaving cream as gently as possible.
I back away, admiring my work. “Done.” I state, throwing the cloth into a laundry basket placed outside the door.
“Thanks, I’ll meet you down stairs.” He smiles, jumping down from the counter to check himself in the mirror.
Leaving, I shake the butterflies in my chest. I shouldn’t be feeling that. Especially not with him.
Part 3 coming soon!

"He looks so sad..." Gwen remarked. Miles and Hobie nodded as Pavitr crossed his arms, "It doesn't help that his only best friend is a literal A.I!"
"That's true, mate. It’s like he’s deathly allergic to the idea of fun...And people."
The group judged Miguel from a distance, who was eating his lunch silently...and alone.
Lyla popped out of thin air. "Hey! It's not like I can ignore him even if I wanted to." She rolled her eyes and pointed to Miguel, "He needs some romance here. It's actually sad. Yesterday, his screen time was 23 hours that day!"
Miles scoffed, "You would think with allat screen time, that he would jump on a dating website-"
"Excuse me?"
Miles' eyes widened as he noticed a shadow behind him. "N-Nothing!"
"Right...Once you guys are done, we have a mission. So eat quickly and meet in my office."
Pavitr laughed once he and Lyla left, "How would he get bitches if everyone is scared of him!"
----------
As soon as they finished eating, Miles, Gwen, Pavitr, and Hobie were met with a fuming Miguel, throwing different metal parts all over the room in frustration.
"Be careful guys, he isn't happy," Margo said, sucking her teeth, "He was just looking at his monitors and just started throwing stuff!"
Hobie patted her shoulder, "Yea mate, we can tell he's not the jolliest right now."
Lyla appeared in front of them and nervously chuckled, "Heyyy guys!"
Miguel slowly turned around to glare at the four Spiders. "Let's go."
Miles raised his eyebrows, "You didn't even tell us what we're supposed to-"
Miguel grabbed Miles by his suit and fumed, "You don't ask me questions."
He let Miles go, causing him to fall as Miguel grabbed his own forehead and groaned, "You know what, stay here. I'll deal with this myself."
He started walking away as the four Spiders looked at each other, stunned.
……..
You flinched slightly as you heard the alarms go off, the screeching hurting your ears, "Damn those alarms."
You were one of Nueva York's most infamous criminals, never being caught by anyone even though the city was home to the Spider Society. That was probably your biggest flex.
You were currently walking through the rubble of the building you just exploded in order to get some stone you've been wanting. It was pretty and you saw it in an exhibition.
Plus it’s fun to get attention from what you considered your hobby; causing a wreckage of Nueva York.
You started to lean on the side of an alleyway as you played with your gold necklace, having replaced your uniform for a basic white shirt, leather jacket, and your favorite tight jeans.
“Eres una pinche pendeja. You’re a fucking IDIOT, N/n!”
You looked behind you and saw your favorite person to get attention from just a few meters away.
“Miguelito! What a pleasure to see you here!” You smiled, waving at him from afar. You mentally cheered. He didn’t have his uniform (which you have always found so sexy on him) and he had his grey turtleneck, black slacks, and some shoes you gifted him which were some retro Air Jordan 1s in black and white. You may or may not have stolen them.
You tilted your head, sensing his anger from miles away. It was amusing to witness.
“Vente pa’ca, Y/n.”
“Why don’t you make me, Miguel?”
Your teasing made him even more upset and you laughed, running swiftly towards him. You stretched your arms, gave him a hug, and stuffed your face on his chest.
“I love your sexy cologne. It smells so good, baby.”
He pulled away from your strong grip and grabbed the bridge of his nose out of frustration, “No puedo más contigo. Why did you do that?!” He said. You smiled at his upset nature and laughed.
“Babyyy, what happened to ‘Hi’ or ‘How are you’? Y tu ya sabes mi respuesta para eso.” You snickered, having your hands on your hips.
“You can’t stop? Can’t you? You’re acting like a goddamn idiot. One of these days, someone is going to catch you and it’s not going to be me,” he sneered while glaring at you.
You scoffed at him and turned your head, gazing at the destruction you caused from afar.
“Oh fuck. how could the Spider Society take this? Their so precious leader going out with me! Little ol’ me! How embarrassing,” you cried out.
“Oh yeah! Me? Spider-man? Going out with Nueva York’s most wanted? God forbid anyone finds out,” he snarled.
The two of you stared at each other before you started cackling. Even Miguel started to chuckle silently.
“M-My god! Miguel, you’re making me look like a crazy person here!” you laughed.
He rolled his eyes and smiled, “That’s ‘cause you are, N/n.”
It was quite an unexpected pairing with you two being close.
You two met at a nightclub after Lyla and Jess forced him to go in order to “loosen up”, they said.
The whole night, he couldn’t help but stare at you as you danced, in nothing but a short crop top and shorts, making your legs look long and sexy.
After mentally preparing himself, you went up to him, buying him a drink and striking conversation.
He liked that about you and how you were so confident.
You were his polar opposite.
Quite literally, after he found you out and caught you vandalizing one of Nueva York’s most famous buildings other than Spider Society headquarters.
He was a mess for the whole week to say the least.
“You know, it would be better if you joined me in a life of crime.”
You went towards him, caressing his face and gazing at his eyes.
“Just the two of us…Imagine all the fun we can have.”
He smiled as he played with your necklace, “I could think of some ways.”
Your eyes lighted up, “So you’re up for it?”
“Absolutely…Not.”
You pouted at him, “But we make such a great team. In the streets and in the shee-“
He glared at you, “I don’t want to hear you finish that sentence.”
He tilted your head upwards, using his fingers to position your chin. “Pero no creas que voy a dejar que me desobedezcas más,” he said as his thumb grazed your lips softly.
“Or what?”
His lips enveloped yours as you began to make out, him pushing you against the wall of a building in the alleyway.
“You don’t want to find out, mi amor.”
You broke from the kiss and gazed up at him. “Who says I don’t wanna find out?”
…….
Miles and Gwen looked at Miguel from across the cafeteria, frightened, “This is kind of scary…”
Pavitr nodded, “It’s like looking at a dog walk with its hind legs.”
“Mate’s smiling while eating. SMILING! The man won’t even LAUGH but he smiles?” Hobie yelps, shaking poor Pavitr as they ravel in Miguel’s unusual behavior.
Miguel then stands up and walks towards the vending mashing in the cafeteria and the group straightens up.
Before he reaches, he stops at their table and glared at them, “What are you guys smiling about?”
Gwen chuckles, “N-Nothing! Hey Miguel, your necklace accessory thing is very-“
“NICE! IT TOTALLY SUITS YOU!” Miles interrupted, smiling ear to ear to get on Miguel’s good side.
“Weirdos..” Miguel muttered as he walked to the vending machine.
While he was pressing the numbers, he couldn’t help but smile a bit and play with his new necklace he had gotten as a gift the day prior.

Tumblr media
Jake is madly driving through the streets at night. He's pissed. Where is he driving to? He is driving to your house, his 4 years younger sister's house. Why was he driving through the streets late at night? Well, that would be because your aviator boyfriend of 1 year had decided to cheat on you with a fellow female aviator who was your so-called best friend, Avery 'Syren' Rania. All three of you had gone to the Navy and all three of you made it to Top Gun. You are a single-seater pilot of the F-18.
Jake was furious at your now ex-boyfriend who broke his sister's heart. Jake was very protective of you especially since you had decided to follow his steps in becoming a pilot and you loved it and weren't going to look back. Jake hated all of your boyfriends but he hated this one most of all, he was too much like himself and that's the men he tried to shield you away from. You lived fairly close to him but yet so far away, well at least to Jake.
When Jake arrived he noticed your boyfriend’s car pull up at the same time and that just made his blood boil. He also had the nerve to bring the girl he cheated on you with. When Jake stepped out at the same time your ex-boyfriend did and he turned around he froze. "Lieutenant Commander Seresin. What are you doing here?" Jordan 'Sleek' Fielding, your ex-boyfriend, asked feeling nervous. Jake had moved closer to him and he was towering over him.
"I should really be asking you that Lieutenant Fielding. I came here because my sister is upset and I don't like it when she is upset." Jake said and he watched Jordan's face pale.
"I didn't know she was your sister." He said and Jake looked at him like he had two heads.
"We have the same last name." Jake said. Jordan was not the smartest and everyone wondered how he got into Top Gun. "I think it is best for you to leave." Jake said and Jordan shook his head.
"I have to apologize to her and win her back." He said and Jake shook his head blood boiling further.
"If you wanted to do that then you shouldn't have brought your side piece or cheated on her. I suggest you and Lieutenant Rania leave before it turns out badly for you." Jake said and Jordan hung his head and started to walk to his car "Do not expect me to go easy on you both when Monday comes around." Jake said and Jordan nodded his head. When The Daggers had come back from the Uranium Mission they were announced as an official and they all got promoted. Jake watched Jordan leave and when his car was out of sight he walked up to your front porch and into the house using his spare key. "Y/N/N it's me!" Jake yelled out into the house and he heard you feet padding down the stairs and tackling him into a hug. You just started to bawl.
"Why me?" You asked him mumbling into his chest "Why me Jakey? Was I not good enough for him?" You asked and Jake held you tighter.
"It absolutely not your fault. He doesn't know what he is missing. They showed up when I did." Jake said
"I know. I heard. I knew you would handle it." You said taking a step back from him. He led you to the couch and sat you down.
"Now tell me what happened." He said and you took a deep breath and begun telling the story as it was fresh in your mind since it did only happen a few hours ago.
You had just left the base after a long day of training you had a very good day and you did very move by the book. You had stayed a little bit later than everyone else on base going over your jet and talking with some of The Daggers and your brother. You changed into your civilian clothes. You were also having your 1 year anniversary with your long time boyfriend adding to your good mood. You've had boyfriends in the past but all of them had broken your heart. When you loved you loved hard but the men you were with just didn't put in the effort like you did.
When you had met Jordan he was different. He put in the effort that you did and truly loved you and loved you for who you were and not just trying to get on your brother's good side. You thought he was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with and have children with. Boy were you wrong.
When you left base you stopped to pick up some stuff for tonight and then headed to Jordan's place. When you pulled up you saw Avery's car there and were confused. You brushed it off and killed the engine to your car and headed to the front door. You used the key you had and walked in and you saw clothes thrown everywhere confusion grew in you. Then you heard moaning coming from the bedroom your heart sank. You walked into the bedroom and found your boyfriend thrusting inside of your so called best friend and you tears welled in your eyes. "Did our 1 year mean nothing to you?" You asked him and he stopped and pulled out and they covered up.
"Y/N. It's not what it looks like." Jordan said and you raised an eyebrow.
"It looked like my boyfriend of 1 year was fucking my so called best friend." You said and they looked down. "How long?" You asked.
"1 year." Jordan asked and tears did fall from your eyes he had been cheating on you for all of your relationship. You tilted your head back and laughed.
"You know what. Happy 1 year anniversary. You both deserve each other." You said and throwing your key at them and stormed out of the house. Luckily for you all of your clothing was at your house and you hardly had anything there. You rushed out of the building and into to your car. They were yelling at you and you saw them standing in the front door but you didn't give them second look.
You arrived back at your house and quickly parked the car and killed the engine and ran into the house. Once in you locked the door and ran upstairs and into your bedroom closing the door and sliding down it. You called the only person you knew would help you in a time like this your big brother, Jake. You grabbed your phone and dialed his number. He answered on the first ring.
"Jake?" You asked when you heard the phone call go through.
"What's up sis?" He asked and you could hear a football game going on.
"He cheated on me." You said
"What?" He asked now furious.
"He cheated on me with Syren." You said through the tears
"That son of a bitch. On my way." Jake said "Do you want me to stay on the phone?" He asked and you shook your head and then realized that he couldn't see you.
"No. Be safe. I love you." You said
"I love you too, sis." Jake said and hung up the phone.
Once you were done explaining he pulled you into a hug and comforted you while you cried into his chest. "It's gonna be ok." He said.
"I'm just all out of heart to break." You said and he swore his heart broke.
"Let's get you to bed and tomorrow night you are coming out to The Hard Deck with us." Jake said and you nodded and he helped you up and get ready for bed. He pulled back the covers once you were ready for bed. He had put on a pair of his sweats from the clothes he had stored at your house. Once he was satisfied that you were comfortable he slid in behind you and cuddled you like he had down when you guys were younger and you would run to him after nightmares. He didn't fall asleep until he knew you were fast asleep. He was pissed but he would handle it later right now his little sister needed him.
******************************************
The next morning you woke up to an empty bed and the smell of Jake's homemade delicious waffles came wafting up to your bedroom and you smiled. You got up and passed by a mirror and saw you appearance, you had tear tracks stained on your cheeks and you hair was a mess. The events came back and another wave a tears came rolling down and you wiped them away and headed downstairs. Jake looked up when he heard you coming down the stairs he smiled. "There is my beautiful little sister." He said and you looked down and smiled and pushed him slightly and then he pulled you into a hug. "Now eat up. We have a big day planned and then you're coming to The Hard Deck with us." He said shoving a plate into your hands and guiding you to the table where he had drinks and syrup already out. A second later he joined you.
True to his word he kept you busy and your mind off of what happened. He took you to the store and got you some groceries and then to several other places. He even took you to the beach where all of the other Daggers were and you all hung out. None of them brought up what happened and you know Jake had told them. One of them had caught your eye but you didn't want get into another relationship and have it go down the drain. That person being Robert 'Bob' Floyd. He had always been so sweet to you but he was your instructor and you didn't want anything to get you both in trouble. You didn't know Bob had felt the same way. When the beach trip had come to and end Jake took you back to your house considering it was 5 PM and you had to be ready at 7 PM for when Jake picked you up.
When 7 PM rolled around you were ready and putting the finishing touches to your lipstick in the mirror in the hallway downstairs. When Jake walked in and smiled "Well look at my little sister all dolled up and ready to blow the men away." He said and you looked up and smiled.
"You're too sweet." You said and hugged him.
"That's how big brothers are supposed to be." He said "You ready?" He asked and you nodded. You both walked out of the house and to his truck. He helped you in and you were both on your way. It was a short drive to The Hard Deck considering you live fairly close to the well known bar.
Jake parked and got out and then helped you out and you were both walking to the building. You both greeted Penny and then you spotted your friends which Jake encouraged you to go and you knew he would keep an eye on you. He watched you dance and have and smiled. Bradley walked over and greeted Jake and the others followed. "She looks happy." Bob said smiling and Jake smiled and nodded.
"You'd never know if she didn't tell you, she won't tell you. She's out there dancing hidin' it well, hidin' it well, yeah and she's beautiful. Got every eye on her. No, you ain't the first to want her." Jake said to Bob, he had been noticing the looks he had been sending your way and vice versa. By now the others had joined.
"I wanna beat the shit out of him." Bradley said and everyone nodded and Jake continued.
"Lookin' at her, can you imagine? 'Cause I can't imagine, lettin' her go once you had her, the way he had her. 'Cause she's beautiful, take your breath in a second. If he shows up here tonight. She's gonna wreck him." Jake said taking his eyes off of you and to Bob for a brief second and then back to you.
"I can't imagine why he would let her go or cheat on her. I would never do that." Bob said.
"Don't take it personal if she don't wanna talk. You got to understand, that girl has heard it all. She'll drink the drink you buy and then she'll walk away. She's just all out of heart to break. I've seen it happen plenty of times until she found Jordon and I hated each and everyone of them." Jake said. "That dress, that hair, those heels. That lipstick ain't for you. That's just for just in case he walks into the room. She'll make you miss her, wanna get her back. But it's too late. She's just all out of heart to break. She ain't heartless for heartless sake. Far from it, when she loves she loves hard." Jake finished. He really did love you and wanted to protect you no matter what even if that means scaring away the other guys away from you.
The door chiming caught his attention and he looked up and it was Jordan and Avery. Jake was pissed. He watched them look across the room and then they found his eyes and they froze but they kept walking on. They grabbed drinks and found a empty table. Jake never took his eyes off of Jordan and he watched him hold Avery close and then his eyes met you and emotions ran through his face and Jake smirked. Jordan was realizing what he has lost and he turned to Bob. "You want to get back at Jordan for me then go dance with my sister." He said and Bob looked at him.
"Seriously?" He asked and Jake nodded.
"I've seen the way you two look at each other and I'm fine with it. I know you won't break her heart. Just be fragile with her love and heart." Jake said and Bob nodded and watched him walk over to you and grab your attention and watched you smile at him. You two danced and then stood there talking and laughing you touched his arm and he blushed and when you stumbled a little bit due to someone bumping into you he caught you and held you close. Jake watched Jordan frown and he watched Avery try to get his attention and failing. Jake smirked his signature smirk this is what he wanted.
"You're enjoying this." Bradley said and Jake nodded.
"He's seeing what he is missing." Jake said taking a sip of his beer. You may be out of heart to break but he knew Bob would take good care of you and show you what love is. Bob is the only man he would approve of being with you because Jake knew he would make your heart whole again.

A little girl followed Paul around the boardwalk and Paul plays with her! 🍼🤭
Hope you like this!
----------------------
People stared at them. They always did, always would, and most of the time, it didn't bother them. If someone did bother them, they would most likely end up as dinner. Paul had noticed that he'd been stared at rather intensely - by a young girl. Or rather, a toddler. The girl had been watching him from her seat in the stroller and had grinned and waved when he looked back. Behind her stood her mom, a woman in her late twenties, with her back turned to her kid as she paid for some food.
It didn't bother him that the toddler stared - why would it? Kids were harmless. He looked up when he heard loud squeals and saw that the girl had not only escaped her stroller but was now actually running towards him. Before he knew it, the girl had clamped herself around his leg, cheekily grinning up at him.
"What are you doing?"
"Hi!" The girl just giggled, not letting go.
"You need to get back to your mum," Paul crouched down, removing one arm from his leg. She just shook her head.
"No!" The girl grinned, tightening her grip on his leg.
"Emma?" The mother had now noticed her kid had escaped the stroller. "Emma, where are you?!"
"Ssh!" The girl giggled again, causing Paul to sigh. If the girl thought he'd be willing to play along, she was dead wrong. Dealing with the occasional law enforcement was already bad enough, but worried mothers were not to be messed with. They went feral, and rightfully so. And Paul got it, at least, when it came to children.
"She's here," Paul called out to the mother, who looked relieved - she knew where her daughter was - and then scared - because she knew who he was.
"I am so sorry," Emma's mum walked up to him, causing Emma to pout as she finally let go.
"No problem," Paul shrugged, although he was relieved to get his leg back.
"What did I say about climbing upon people?" Emma's mum crouched down in front of the girl, looking rather stern.
"Not to do it." Emma looked down, although Paul sensed she found it rather funny.
"Do you remember why?"
"I'm not a monkey."
"And?"
"Tall people aren't trees."
"Very good. Thank you for finding her," the mother said, turning to Paul. "I'm Jordan, by the way."
"Mum! I want to play!"
"Don't you think you've scared your mum enough for one night?"
"No!" Emma giggled as she jumped up and down. Jordan sighed, picking the girl up.
"Only children who've been good and not run away from their mums get to play," Jordan looked serious, but there was a hint of teasing in her voice. Emma nodded, then whispered something in her mothers' ear.
"That something you have to ask yourself, hon."
Emma nodded. "Mister Tree? What's the best horse to ride on the - whats it called?"
"Carousel."
"Carousel?" Emma looked up at him.
"That depends. Are you more of a princess or more of a hero? Or both?"
Emma thought for a bit before answering. "I'm the king!"

Toxic
-Cedric Diggory x female reader-
This was anonymously requested and the original request I already answered to if you want to read it just scroll down on my blog. Thank you anon for requesting and I'm sorry this took so long! I feel like this isn't my best writing but I tried my best! :)
Warnings: probably a few errors, possessiveness, out of character Cedric, use of Y/N, toxic relationship, that is pretty much it lol
Word count: 2436
Prologue:
Cedric Diggory was always seen as a charming, popular and handsome boy. And while all of those things were true to describe him, he had a different side that few knew about. The closest anyone had gotten to understanding his true character was probably Lee Jordan or the Weasley twins, and even then, they didnt know much. No one knew who he was. That was until he met you. Behind that handsome mask was a dark person who could be merciless and manipulative, who wouldn’t hesitate to get back at someone who would cross him, and little did you know, you would be the person to remove that mask and witness who he really was.
┌── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──┐
It was the beginning of a new school year and the hallways of Hogwarts were filled with a sea of red, green, yellow and blue as students bustled off to the Great Hall for the sorting hat ceremony. You smiled as the group of anxious and small first years passed you, being lead by the headmistress Mcgonagall. It brought you back to when you were a first year yourself, your stomach fluttering in a mixture of excitment and nervousness as to what house you would be sorted into.It had turned out that you were a Gryffindor, the house of the brave and bold. It surprised many, including yourself because you had never seemed to be one of them.
You walked into the gathering place, your eyes scanning the floods of students being hearded into the right direction by prefects and professors as you made your way to your seat. You then felt yourself being practially bulldozed over as a group of rowdy Slytherin boys tried pushing through the group of you and your fellow Gryffindors. It was loud and chaotic and you were becoming slightly disoriented as you were shoved to the side, accidentally falling into the arms of someone.
It had happened quickly though to you it felt like it was almost in slow motion. The strong arms steadied you, helping you to your feet. You looked up, being met with the face of Cedric Diggory. You internally groaned, your eyes locking with quite literally the most popular boy in school. Sure, he seemed nice and helpful but for some reason you didnt trust him, like something else was going on with that boy. No one could be that perfect.
“Are you alright?” Cedric asked, letting go of you after a moment. You forced a polite smile and nodded.
“Yes, thank you,” you replied, breaking eye contact for a moment. The way his intense eyes seemed to study you made you uncomfortable.
“I haven't seen you around here before, whats your name?” he inquired, letting the other people pass you by as you stood there in the middle of the hall. You had to fight the urge to roll your eyes. Of course you knew who he was, but why hadn’t he noticed you before? You were only a year under him, he shouldve at least known who you were, popular or not.
“Y/N L/N,” you said simply, extending your hand to shake, you didnt want to really, but it was the socially expcted thing to do. “But of course I already know who you are,” you added.
He took your hand, shaking it firmly as he stared into your soul.
“It’s nice to meet you.”
He then gave a nod, returning to leading the younger students to their seats so the ceremony could begin. You made it to your table, feeling his eyes on you still, even across the hall.
From that point on, you had caught Cedric’s interest. You were different. And he had every intention of peeling back all of your layers and finding out everything about you. You drew yourself out of anyone, unlike him, who's still went along with what everyone else wanted him to be.
The weeks went on since your first meeting and Cedric suddenly was everywhere, which you found odd because the years before you scarcely saw him, and of course he had never saw you in return. It had become a habit for him to observe you whenever he saw you, like you would a specimen in a jar, and he had no idea why it had taken him so long to do so.
You noticed this however, how his gaze would linger on you, whether you were in class or the quidditch pitch, or the hallways of the castle. Was he seeking you out? Or was it just fate that you both happened to be in the same place so often?
After a while Cedric had decided he wanted to be with you, to uncover who you really were. You knew this, however and tried your hardest to stay as far away as possible from him, but he wouldnt give it up, he would persist.
It was a chilly autumn morning, the breeze was lightly blowing and the skies were painted a dull light grey. You stood outside, leaning against a tree as other students quiet chatter scattered throughout the courtyard. You let out a sigh of relief, Cedric being nowhere in sight. In fact, you hadn't seen him in days. Maybe he had given up, realized it wasnt worth it, and forgot about you. But you were wrong. It was the opposite. He had spent days holed up in his dorm, thinking about how he would go about with his plan. You would be his; he was sure of it, but he wasnt sure how yet. But today was the perfect day to make you his. You were alone, not using your friends as a way for him to never come up to you.
You let out a breath, your breath visible and swirling in the cold air as you pulled your sweater around you more. You then looked up, seeing the person you had been avoiding for weeks starting to approach you. You groaned, planning your escape exit as he drew nearer, but before you could slip away, he had cornered you.
“Hello,” he greeted casually, shoving his hands into his pockets and smirking down at you.
“What do you want?” you asked in exasperation, looking up at him. His brown hair was tousled and the cold weather had made his pale skin flush, his nose and cheeks slightly pink, giving him even more of the boyish charm that drove you crazy, and not in the good way. You had to admit, he was handsome, even though he had been silently bothering you for weeks.
He chuckled, gazing down at you with a grin.
“I want you to be my girlfriend,” Cedric said, his tone confident as you stood there baffled.
“You what?” you asked, feeling taken aback by how he said it, like it wasnt a request.
“You heard me.”
You stood there in shock, silent for a moment, turning your nose to the ground as you went over his proposition in your mind. He took your chin in his forefinger and thumb, making you look back up at him. The other students had begin to stare, quietly whispering amongst themselves.
“Come on Y/N, you wouldn’t want to cause a scene now would you?” he inquired, his eyes glinting as if daring you to challenge him.
You sighed.
Being with him couldnt be all that bad… could it?
You nodded.
“Alright,” you agreed.
The boy smiled widey, not even trying to hide the victorious pride he felt. He had finally done it. He had you.
“We should get going then, hm darling?” he asked smoothly, wrapping an arm around you.
It turned out being together wasnt all that bad. You two had gotten along quite nicely, and you had to admit, he was a good boyfriend, when he wasnt being possessive. You had noticed that trait of his as your relationship continued, and it caused problems sometimes. He also tended to act childish around you, something that you didnt expect from him. And you weren’t sure why, but you often doted on him, you couldn’t help it. He had sucked you in.
Cedric knocked on your door one day, brows furrowed and a look of anger on his face as he waited for you to come out of your dorm.
“Y/N!” he called out, knocking on your door again.
You sighed, getting up from your desk and walking over to your door, opening it for him.
“What is it now Ced?” you asked, crossing your arms as he pushed past you into your dorm.
“We need to talk,”he growled, looking down at you intensely as he shut the door with a click.
You raised an eyebrow, not planning on backing down.
“About what?” you asked, sitting down on your bed.
He laughed harshly and shook his head.
“About your little friend,” he spat, frowning down at you. You tilted your head in confusion, not knowing what he was on about until it all clicked in your head. “You've been spending quite a bit of time with Neville Longbottom have you not?”
You scoffed and shook your head.
“Cedric I have explained to you so many times, we are just friends-” you tried explaining but he cut you off.
“Friends eh? Rumor has it, he has a little crush on you,” he muttered, brushing his thumb over your lower lip.
“Since when do you believe rumors?” you pressed, jerking your face away from his hand, making him even more irritated.
“Since I see the way that git looks at you whenever your around!” he snapped, raising his voice slightly, his nostrils flaring.
“I cant take this anymore! You are the most possessive person I've ever met and I'm tired of dealing with it day after day!” you exclaimed, slamming your palm down on the mattress angrily.
His jaw clenched and he grabbed your face, pulling it towards his.
“Im possesive because I know whats mine and I’ll die before its ever taken from me,” he snarled, his eyes burning into yours.
You laughed coldly and pushed him away.
“That’s too bad because I'm not yours and I’m done with this!” you retorted, your eyes welling with frustrated tears. “Your behaviour is hurting this relationship and everyone else around us!”
Cedric retreated, fists clenched at his sides and his chest heaving. He couldn’t believe it. You were breaking up with him. Or trying to at least. He was scarily quiet before he turned on his heels and stomped off, slamming the door behind him.
The weeks that followed were miserable. Coldness had grown between you two and it was as if you had ever been together at all.
You walked through the quidditch pitch alone, broom in hand as you looked up at the sky. It was a good day for flying and Merlin, you needed to clear your head. You set off, the wind hitting your face and blowing back your hair as you flew over the castle, admiring the beauty of Hogwarts below you. All was well for a few moments until you noticed three figures in the sky as well on their brooms, you thought nothing of it until they became closer and you realized who exactly it was. In your years of being a Gryffindor you had made some enemies, particularly a group of Slytherin girls who had made your life hell since your first year.
This was the last thing you needed so you took a turn in the opposite direction, hoping they had not yet seen you and you could quickly escape. Unfortunately they had spotted you already and you were their target. You glanced behind you, flying faster as the main girl had a smug sneer on her face, her eyes narrowing as she drew closer, her two friends beginning to circle you on your broom. You were outnumbered. It all happened so quickly, the sound of laughter rang through your ears and you felt yourself being pushed and shoved in multiple directions in the sky.
Before you could do anything, you slipped off your broom, falling through the air.
All you could sense was the rush of air through your hair, hitting your face, your eyes watering as your body prepared to hit the ground. You couldn’t hear anything except for your heartbeat wildly pounding in your chest and you prayed that someone, anyone, would be there to catch you.
Then everything went black.
Cedric was in the hospital wing, sitting down next you as you rested. He had found out about the accident from the swarm of students that had surrounded your unconscious body on the ground as a prefect rushed to alert Madam Pomfrey.
He was angry. Very angry. Not at you, but at the people who had dared to ever hurt you. He stared at your face, brushing a lock of hair behind your ear. His expression softened, realizing the reason why he liked you and how happy you truly made him. It wasn't because of how you could be yourself, but because you had never expected anything of him. Unlike his father, unlike  everyone else. You accepted the other side of him despite seeing it enough times that could cause you to push him away.
He thought about taking revenge on the girls who had caused this but he decided against it, knowing that you wouldn’t like that. He stayed there for a long time, waiting for you to wake up.
Your eyes fluttered open ,and you felt slightly disoriented, looking around the hospital in confusion. You then locked eyes with Cedric, feeling your heartbeat quicken in surprise that he was there after everthing that happened between you both.
“You're awake,” he muttured, lightly stroking your hand.
You started crying, causing him to look at you in worry and bewilderment at your sudden outburst of tears.
“Hey, hey hey, whats wrong?” he asked, his eyes searching your face for answers.
“I’m- I’m worried  that you won't ever be by m-my side anymore, and I’ll be so lonely if I’m left behind again,” you confessed, tears falling down your face. This shocked him and he pulled you into his arms, whispering words of comfort. Cedric realized you both, in fact, very lonely but in different ways, and this just showed it to him.
“I’ll never leave you,” he promised, hushing your sobs and wiping the salty tears off your face.
You smiled tearfully up at him and nodded.
“I’ll never leave you either.”
You knew you were toxic. You both did. But you didn’t care anymore. You could work on it… right?

ive come up with more plot for my lovers to enemies and then enemies to lovers ellabs fic idea. if you dont know what that is i talk about it here
i think that this would all take place on both their day ones when they see each other for the first time. i can envision abby being out on her run with mel and manny when the gunfire can be heard and they see the WLF chasing this girl and ordering her to be killed. manny would talk about how its the trespasser that everyone has been has been talking about, and how they're a kill on sight target. but when abby aims her weapon for a clear shot, thats when she realizes its her. her long lost girlfriend from when they were young teenagers that she was almost certain was already dead. ellie notices that its her too. they spend the moment in silence together, both bewildered. a gunshot rings, which would remind ellie where she is and what is happening, and thats when she takes that opening for her to escape.
the reason why i think it should happen on their day ones is because i think then abby's priority will shift from traveling across seattle to find owen to instead find ellie because what the fuck was that. why is my girlfriend from years ago that i just assumed died in a FEDRA attack is actually alive and why is she in seattle and why do the WLF want her dead? and when she gets back to the stadium from her patrol she sneaks out to go find her.
towards the end of seattle day 2 is when they finally run into each other and it would take place of the boat scene and instead ellie and abby will fuck in some random building bc i said so. ellie is just as bewildered that her ex is actually alive and not dead but she also can't help but be enthralled at her muscle growth and her build and things go one way and abbys fucking the shit out of ellie.(yes ellies a bottom in ellabs i dont make the rules) this would be so juicy to me because instead of the regular story of owen cheating on mel its ellie cheating on dina. and after waking up next to abby the next morning she realizes what the fuck she just did and she gets terrified and runs off, leaving abby to wake up alone, and she has to find her. again. is it just abby's thinking or did ellie get more stubborn the older she got?
ellies a fucking mess on her way back to the theater because she doesn't know what she did and why she did it because she has a pregnant girlfirend back at the theater waiting for her return. shes so distraught she can barley focus on getting back safely. but thats before tommy ends up running into her. tommy tells her all the intel he's collected on the WLF and shares leah's photocards he found and he points at a girl with a long blonde braid next to some man, explaining that that's the person who killed joel. and ellies eye's widened. abby. she did it. she killed joel. as if ellie's emotions weren't scattered around her brain now she's in a full out panic attack and feels sick and throws up. her girlfriend from years ago, one that she shared many laughs and dumb memories with, was the one to brutally murder joel.
abby's out looking for ellie once again, she's not letting ellie keep running away from her. especially not after what happened last night. on her journey she runs into manny. manny is asking her where the fuck she's been. the WLF have been looking for her, and isaac just assumed she went awol and became an enemy of theirs. but abby doesn't care. she wants to know why the girl they ran into on their run is shoot on sight. and that's when manny explains that these trespassers, who are not scars, have been hitting them hard. he tells her that these trespassers killed some of their closest friends. danny, leah, jordan, nora, owen and mel. (tommy ended up doing most, since ellie had other things going on, but she still contributed nonetheless). and now its abby's turn to feel sick. all this time she was out chasing for ellie to have some type of hopes of having her join them and be together again, finding out that she's here murdering her friends, but why?
abby, now seething, is still going to search for ellie. but not with the same idea she originally had in mind.
yall i need this fic to be picked up PLEASE. i cannot write series or develop characters to save my life. but i need to see this fic actually come to live its all i ask for PLEASE.

Maybe Cupid won’t miss…?
Tyler the creator
A/n- This is half based on the song Sarah some parts are from the song besides that that’s it really 😜 have fun reading
Warning(s)- murders, kidnappings, mentions of gore, smut at the end. If I missed anything let me know.
(Choso’s pov)
“Today, there was reported to be three counts of murder, the victim’s were found hands zip tied together an-” I cut the TV off before she could finish, this town was always exposed to some type of crime every other week. This is the fifth one this week. “Choso, we got another.” I heard one of my colleagues say as he walked in, he handed the case file to me “You look terrible Choso, don’t you think you should go ahead home I can finish it from her if you want?” He said with concern in his voice. He was right. I was tired but this was all I could think about at home, shopping, even at the gym.
“No, I’m fine, I can do half of it then head home.” I said looking through the file I heard a hum from him before he walked out, I took the pictures from the case and pinned them up on the board seeing them used to make me sick but now they don’t have an effect on me anymore. Some things I noticed about the case were that they were all gutted. The only thing left was their heart and a Cupid's arrow with words next to where the heart was located saying “Cupid missed with this one” but it wasn’t hand written it looked as if it was printed. I stood back a little and looked at all the case photos. “This person has to be one sick bastard to do something like this.” I said before grabbing my coat and heading out.
My car was in the shop so I had to take the bus, not that I minded it, I got on this and sat towards the back of the bus. The bus ride was nice and quiet, the bus had come to a stop and I had noticed my neighbor [Name] had got on, she was always the quiet type when she first moved in but her brother on the other hand was different, he was very outgoing and made friends with everyone on the block. He was the first to knock on my door when they moved in next door.
(Names POV)
Me and my brother have just moved here from Florida, we had just got the last three boxes in before this boy was already telling me what I was going to do “So I think the kills should be done by you this time, I’ve been doing them since we moved to Florida.” He said to me, handing me some of the boxes for the kitchen, I grabbed the box and looked at him “Actually dumbass I did the killing not you, your ass brought them here. Get it right.” I explained to him, he rolled his eyes at me before putting something’s up in the cabinets “Can we at least have some type of communication with neighbors this time?” He asked me while putting the box in the corner. I looked at him. Last time we didn’t talk to neighbors they suspected us but we had “just” moved there so we were put off the table.
My brother was smiling as we made it to our first neighbors house, he ran up to the door and knocked three times before at a tall male with long black hair and black eyes with dark circles under them. “Hello, we just moved in next door and wanted to meet all of the neighbors. Your neighborhood looks very beautiful and well maintained.” He said to the male, I waved and looked around. “My name is Jordan and this is [Name], my sister, she's a little shy.” He said, smiling softly, the male smiled and waved at us before telling us his name ‘Choso’ was his name…
Once we got home from talking to the majority of the neighborhood I went to look him up, he’s a police officer. I cussed quietly under my breath, Jordan had gone out about three hours ago to get our first victim. I went to the basement with the box of tools and other things. After a while of waiting I heard the door open and closing before I heard Jordan call out for me. “I made sure no one was with her, and nobody was around when I took her.” He said hold the unconscious girl and headed to the basement “But she gave me a very hard time. Fucking kicked me in my leg, she also got away.” He said while we sat her on the cold floor.
He was about to touch her before I spoke up “Gloves. You already fucked up that part when you got her.”I said to him, I grabbed some things to clean her with so no fingerprints couldn’t be found, I heard my brother say sorry before walking to get some gloves. I zip tied her arms just in time because she was starting to wake up. She looked around in a panic and tried to scream but she couldn’t because she had duct tape over her mouth “Good morning beautiful.” I said with a smile to her she looked at me with tears in her eyes, my brother came back with some snacks “Really dude.” I said to him, he looked at me before placing them down on a nearby table he then walked over to me and the girl, “She’s pretty.” He said rubbing her hair softly, I looked at him then rolled my eyes. I walked over to the box of things “I think we should go easy on her,” He said to me “also did you make sure this place had a high enough crime rate, before we did this?” He said as I turned around.
“Yea and I found out that there’s a killer who uses zip ties, then he guts his victims but leaves their heart, and if he likes them he’ll put ‘Cupid didn’t miss’ and if he didn’t like them he’ll put ‘Cupid missed with this one’. So we just have to do that.” I said to him “Oh he also uses these handmade Cupid arrows, I made some while you were out.” I said to him.
After we killed her we took her body to a isolated place in town and placed the arrow in her heart, we got and cleaned up before heading to bed. The next morning was as normal as normal “Good job with the cutting.” I said while pouring myself a glass of orange juice, he looked at me and smiled before turning on the TV. The news was talking about the possibility of aliens actually being on Earth before the switch to a different topic “Well that was quick.” Jordan said eating his spoonful of lucky Charms “This morning police were called to investigate a murder that happened, they say that it might be the same person that had killed 10 people in the same way, but they don’t have any evidence or information about the person, when they do we will let you all know.” The news reporter said before Jordan changed the channel to SpongeBob.
I told Jordan that I’ll be back in about an hour before I walked out. I saw Choso working in his front yard. He looked up at me and waved “Good morning [Name]” he said to me. I waved at him before getting in my car.
[Present day]
(Choso’s pov)
I walked out to my house to check the mailbox before I heard some yelling coming from [Name] and her brothers house, I knew it was none of my business but her brother was a bigger man, I walked over and knocked on the door waiting for a response the opened it was Jordan “Is everything okay?” I said looking at him, he was going to speak before I heard [Name] speak up “No, it’s not okay.” She said standing beside him “Look it’s not my fault she was loud, and that you can’t get any.” He said, folding his arms across his chest. So it was that type of problem.
“So I’ll just take this as a sibling type of problem.” I said with a laugh.
Jordan looked at her before looking back at me “yea it is, but if you have a solution to her problem then this would be solved so fast.” He said smirking, I didn’t understand at first “JORDAN!” I heard [Name] yell before pinching him and walking away, I blushed a little and cleared my throat, Jordan looked at me and laughed “I’m just kidding man, unless?” He said looking at me with a smirk. She is a very attractive woman. “How about tonight?” I said to him with a smile, he looked surprised “well shit, my sisters got a date.” He said it loud enough for her. I chuckled before saying goodbye to the male and headed home.
Putting off a case that I started four years ago won’t be so hard. I walked to my basement and looked at the girl that’s been missing for two months now. “I don’t need you anymore, I got what I wanted now.” I said to the girl she smiled and began to cry “Oh. You think I’ll let you go?” I said with a laugh “,just for you to tell someone?” I said walking over to grab a knife, I then turned to look at the woman who was crying hysterically now.
Before I picked up [Named] I dumped the girls body somewhere isolated, after I was done I cleaned my hands and headed to her house.
[Names pov]
“No killing while I’m out.” I said while fixing my make up a little bit. I heard my brother say okay in a dead tone “Jordan I’m being serious.” I said putting my earring in before grabbing my bag. “Okay, okay jezz, I won’t.” He said, grabbing his bowl of ice cream and heading to the living room, I heard a knock at the door. I went to open it. “Hey.” He said with a smile, he handed me a bundle of flowers “Oh why thank you, these are so pretty!” I said taking them and placing them on the counter “Don’t stay out too long you two.” Jordan said while watching TV. I rolled my eyes and stepped outside while closing the door behind me. “You look…beautiful.” He said while grabbing my hand, I smiled “And you look handsome.” I said to him.
We made it to the restaurant, it was very beautiful. I was happy that he took me out, I haven’t been out in a while. We talked for a couple of minutes, I noticed he was very fidgety “You nervous?” I asked him, he looked at me with a smile “Y-yea just a little.” He said while grabbing his glass and taking a sip, I smiled. The waitress came out with our food a minute later, as we were eating we talked about a lot of things to get to know each other more. “So you never wanted to be a police officer?” I asked him, chuckling a little bit “Yep, I wanted to work with my dad.” He said before taking a bite of his food “Wow.” I said, taking a sip of my drink “So, you and your brother.” He said, looking at me.
“Mhm, what about us?” I said a little hesitant “You two don’t look alike, for being twins.” He said while intertwining his fingers, I looked at him for a moment before speaking “We’re fraternal twins.” I said smiling at him, he hummed in response before he continued eating. After we ate dinner we made our way back home, “I had a great time tonight.” I said standing in front of him, noticing he was a little bit taller than me, “I had a great time too.” He said getting closer, he leaned towards me and gave me a kiss before I could react he asked me if I wanted to come in I said sure and headed with him inside. “You’re home is reall-“I know you killed them.” He interrupted me. I stood there in shock “I- what do you mean, I wouldn’t do that.” I said starting to feel my breathing get heavy.
He walked closer to me, trapping me between him and the door “Stop lying I know you did, want me to tell you how?” He said getting closer to my face, I looked at him for a moment, lost in thought thinking of all my procedures and precautions or anything that I had forgotten to do “You forgot to write the words on her…like I do.” He said closer to my ear, still in shock I looked at him “W-what you mean like you do.?” I said, he kissed me and put his hands on my waist. “Before you moved here, I was the one killing.” He said moving towards my neck, I moaned at the action “You and your brother are really good at what you do. Being little copycats?” He said looking back at me “What fun do you get from doing this? Does it make you feel good? Bad?” He said, gripping my waist tighter “I-I don’t know, we just wanted to.” I said looking at him he smiled.
“You know why I did it?” He said picking me up, I yelped at the action. He carried me to his room and laid me down before getting on top of me. “I did it for you, the last girl I liked. I did the same thing but she rejected me. So I killed her and stopped but when you came I fell back into that mindset that I need you so I took girls that looked like you.” He kissed my neck again, though this situation was nothing to be happy about. I still smiled at the words that left his mouth. “I was thinking about taking you and putting you in my basement. Cause I didn’t think you would like me.” He said moving lower, before he continued he looked at as if he was asking could he keep going I nodded, he pushed up my dress and took it off throwing it somewhere in his room.
He kissed from my collarbone to my chest, I sat up to take off my bra for him “You're so beautiful.” He said to me while kissing around my nipple while playing. I moan and put my hands in his hair to push him closer. I felt him moaning against my nipple before he turned his attention to the other one. “I’m so happy I get to touch you.” He said with a whiny voice, he felt his hand move closer to my underwear, he started lightly rubbing circles on my clit. “Did you wear these for me?” He said softly while kissing in between my boobs. I moaned as he started moving his fingers faster, he continued kissing lower and lower until he got to the top of my underwear, he stopped his movements to take them off “You gone let me eat you out?” He asked as he kissed my inner thighs. I nodded, then rubbed his head, he kissed my inner thigh before kissing my clit, I moaned and gripped his hair a little tighter.
He lightly bit down on my clit before he started licking my hole then moving back up, he them licked my lips before he tongue fucked me, he brought his thumb up to my clit and lightly rubbed it “Your so sweet.” He said before putting his index finger inside of me I moaned and pushed his mouth deeper in to me, he put his middle finger inside and started moving his fingers and tongue faster “I-I’m so close, don’t stop please!” I said arching my back and grabbing his head. He moaned into me as I came on his face, “Good job baby.” He said while still fingering me, I tried to push his hand away “I think you can do one more for me, right?” He said rubbing his fingers against my sweet spot, I moaned as I felt myself reaching my peak. “I know baby you're so close.” He said to me as I reached my orgasm. “Look at that baby, you squirted.” He said with a smile before coming up to kiss me, I could taste myself on his lips.
“Was that your first time?” He said while picking me up to take me to the bathroom, once we made it there he placed me in the tub and turned on the water “Do you want to go back home or you wanna stay?” He said while checking the temperature he looked at me “I can stay here.” I said to him, “What’s wrong baby, something wrong?” He said turning the water off, I looked up at him “I didn’t- well we didn’t do anything.” I said looking up at him as he rubbed my body with soap. “Baby, your pleasure is my pleasure. I promise I had just as much pleasure as you.” He said kissing my forehead, I smiled at him.
Cupid didn’t miss time…

Chapter 2 - Barry knew he couldn't outrun his shadow
“Uncle Flash,” Wally jumped when an empty cardboard box fell to the ground, “I really think we should leave!”
Barry looked around nervously the hairs on his skin standing on end. He never even liked hearing about Gotham much less stepping foot in the accursed city, but here he was in his flash costume scoping out an abandoned warehouse that he knew was being used by Captain Boomerang. He just needed to find proof, which was proving to be difficult, what with all the spookiness the warehouse provided. How anyone in their right mind would live in this city, he did not know. Wouldn’t the rumors of bats personified and dead children protecting the weak be enough to rule this place out as reasonable living? They heard another echo of something falling and both Barry and Wally hugged each other, a squeak escaping their lips.
“Maybe we should come when there’s more light out,” Barry whispered.
Wally shook his head in the affirmative.
“Are you looking for this?” A clear voice echoed from the rafters.
“Who, who’s there!” Barry exclaimed.
A lithe figure somersaulted into view, landing precariously on a stack of boxes in front of them. From the little they could see of his face, he was extremely pale, black hair that blended with the darkness surrounding them, he was shapeless, shadowy, like a specter. Until he moved to stand up, his black cape, because that is what had been covering his body, revealed a bright yellow lining and his red and green clothes were so bright in contrast to their surroundings that it made the pair flinch. The maybe teenager, Barry realized he was young, lifted a boomerang to the meager light coming from a broken window.
“There’s rarely any sun here, so you would have to wait a while and by then all evidence would be gone. I’m Robin by the way.” Robin said casually, a wide smile appearing on his face, it gave Barry the creeps.
“Uh, yeah we were looking for something like that.” Wally said, slowly extricating himself from Barry.
“Where is Captain Boomerang now?” Barry asked, placing a hand on Wally’s shoulder to prevent him from walking any closer to Robin.
“Isn’t it rude to not introduce yourselves?” He pointed to Barry and then to Wally, “Flash, Kid Flash, it’s also rude to not send advanced notice of your coming.”
“We, weren’t even sure you existed.” Wally said, taking one more step forward.
Robin jumped off the the tower of boxes, they didn’t even teeter, he landed gracefully on his tiptoes the floor seemingly cushioned just for him and he bent towards Wally, his face mere inches from his.
“And now you do.” Robin’s smile widened further, his teeth looked human at least, no fangs.
Robin brought the shadows with him, their surroundings become darker, the figure blurrier, if he focused too intently on him, blackness and color fused like watercolors . Barry’s heart beat an even more rapid pace than it normally did, he wasn’t sure if he should pull his nephew away or push the colorful shadow, either way he was afraid that the thing might find it rude. He apparently already offended the thing, he didn’t want to make things worse. Robin shoved the boomerang to Wally’s chest and then threw a flash-drive towards Barry, who caught it with ease.
“Now leave,” Robin bent backwards slowly, looked at them through his legs, “Gotham doesn’t like trespassers,” He lifted his legs above his head effortlessly and threw himself into the air, the shadows coalesced around him and then his voice came from the rafters, “even less when they’re metas.”
Barry heard laughter to his right making him twist around, were there more of those things? He felt watched at all angles, it was unnatural. Wally on the other hand seemed entranced by the being they just met, he clutched the boomerang to his chest like one would a bouquet of flowers. Barry pulled Wally away and they rushed out of there as if the city had burned them. The shadows were alive in Gotham, a full body shiver ran down him, because there was one thing he knew for certain and that was that he couldn’t outrun his shadow.

The Jordan heat was almost unbearable and wearing a stilsuit didn't help at all. Between takes everyone was encouraged to drink plenty of water and sit in the shade. Denis made sure everyone was taaking breaks and staying in the shade.
Timothee spent the majority of his breaks sipping water and talking with Denis and his father who had flown out to Jordan to watch Timothee shoot his scenes for Dune 2. You had flown out with his dad and stayed at a apartment with Timothee while he filmed.
On this hot day. You had stayed back at the cool apartment after getting groceries from a local market. You decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing until Timothee and his dad returned.
Halfway through the filming day.
Timothee started feeling lightheaded and being in a heavy and uncomfortable still suit didn’t help.
He couldn’t really focus enough to say his lines. His entire body felt like it was on fire.
He stumbled through the sand back towards the resting area. Zendaya followed him worried.
Denis looked at the rest of the cast and crew and called them out to take a break. Seeing that Timothee really needed one. Everyone else probably did too.
“Papa I don’t feel good.” Timothee said as he went to sit by his dad.
“donne-lui de l'eau, donne-lui de l'eau!”
Denis called to the crew noticing how sweaty and pale Timothee seemed.
Timothee’s Dad placed his hat on his head as they sat together under the tent set up with a fan and coolers full of cold drinks. Tim’s Dad grabbed one water bottle opened it and handed it to Timothee.
“tu dois boire de l'eau.” His dad said.
Timothee took it and drank it eagerly as if he’d never get water again.
Zendaya grabbed her own bottle of water and sat next to Timothee. She reached up to touch his forehead.
“You’re burning bad Timmy. We need to cool you down.” Zendaya said worriedly.
Timothee’s Dad got up to get a rag and put it in the cooler of ice as well as towels.
Zendaya grabbed an already cold wash cloth from one of the other coolers to wipe Timothee’s face.
Timothee groaned and coughed harshly
“So hot.” He whined
“You’ll be ok Timmy.” Zendaya said.
Timothee: nodded and took a deep breath. Being in front of the fans was nice but to his body it wasn’t enough.
Timothee swallowed hard suddenly feeling nauseous.
“êtes-vous ok?” He heard Denis call in French.
Timothee’s head was swimming. He could barely focus on anything.
Denis sounded so far away. He got up and walked a few steps away to take a deep breath and try to calm down. His stomach started swirling around and his nausea increased tenfold.
He started to gag and the next thing he knew he was vomiting into the sand. He felt the hands of his father on his back.
He could feel everyone’s panic but couldn’t hear anything. He could barely make out his dad and Denis’s frantic french.
Then he was out.
The next thing you know you’re getting a call from Denis and he’s panicking as he explains that Timothee had vomited and collapsed during a film break.
“He’s at the hospital Y/N he’s not feeling well. He’s asleep now but he was asking for you as soon as he woke up when he got to the hospital. His dad is with him now.”
“I’ll be right there!” Don’t worry just make sure he’s comfortable ok?”
“Ok see you soon.” Denis said before you hung up and rushed to the hospital.
You found him curled up in a hospital bed covered in cooled blankets and ice packs.
You greet Timothee’s father and he reassures you he’ll be ok.
“The doctor said he’ll be ok. He’s getting fluids and rest now.”
You nod and look over to Timothee asleep yet shivering from the cold blankets and Ice packs.
You head over and sit next to him stroking his sweat soaked curls.
“Oh my darling boy.” You mutter softly as you stroke his curls.
When he wakes up and sees you he whimpers and begins to cry.
“Oh honey I’m here my dear.” You coo and kiss his nose.
“Don’t feel good. Cold.” He said weakly.
“You overheated and we need to cool down. You’ll be alright.”
His dad nods and moves closer to his beside.
“Je ne me sens pas bien papa.” Timothee whimpered.
“c'est bon Timothée, tout ira bien.” His father said trying to reassure his anxious son.
Timothee continued to cry feeling anxious and so sick. Soon he’s vomiting again and the doctors mention he could have sunstroke which is causing the vomiting spells.
You play with his curls with one hand and brush away his tears with the other. Despite the meds he’s being given intravenously. He’s still feeling really sick.
As the day progressed the med dosages are increased he finally starts to improve.
Soon the doctors give him the ok to be released and send you home with anti nausea medication and a few other medications to help him feel better.
Once back at the rented apartment you help Timothee with the bathroom. (He has the runs from the medicine.) then you help him get comfy in bed and give him water.
“We’ll be on a filming break until you feel 100% ok? Denis freaked and told me we’ll let you rest ok?” You tell him.
Timothee nods exhausted from the day. He headbutts you wanting cuddles.
Timothee’s dad ruffles his curls and scolds him for head butting you.
“mon cher garçon, ne fais pas ça.”
“It’s ok Marc he just wants cuddles is all.” You say.
Marc chuckles “he could have asked.”
“Leave the poor man be.” You say.
You crawl into bed next to Timothee and he moves closer to be held. His dad fetches him more water and hands you another blanket before heading to his room.
Timothee nuzzles you and headbutts you again.
“Hey! Your dad is right you know. Sometimes that head of yours hurts when you shove me.
He does it again and kisses you.
“Love you Mon cher,”
“Love you too. Please rest.”
“Only if you hold me?”
You kiss him.
“Of course lovey.”

formula 1 | [1] | across the spiderverse
in which you turn suspicious of your cousin Miles and follow him, only to find out he’s part of a racing gang.
love triangle between hobie, miguel, and you a/n- HI! So basically this is a repost but I wanted to updated it with more ! i really want to make this into a series and am very hyped about it ! i thought that it was too short last time!
(will include Spanish that is not translated! ty!)
1998 | New York City.
Your eyes flickered as you were met with the smell of your Tia’s cooking.
Empanadillas. Your favorite.
Your back hurt from lugging some of your uncle’s car parts yesterday. You barely got home at 3 for helping your uncle Aaron with some client that needed an oil change.
You got up and stretched as you went to brush your teeth and wash your face. You felt tired as fuck.
You made your way to the kitchen where you saw your Tia Rio running around the kitchen, trying to make sure things aren’t burnt.
“Hey, Tia! Are those empanadillas I smell-“
“Ay, bendito! Get up, Y/N! Wake your brother up!” She pushed you towards the hallway and went back to flipping tortillas.
You groaned and went to Miles’ room before you knocked it down and hit him with a throw pillow on his chair, “DESPIERTA, ‘MANO!”
Miles pushed you and covered his face with his pillow, “2 more minutes, please!”
“Nope! Tia wants you up already. And yes, Unc already left in case you want to ask.”
As you left, you heard Miles mutter a little ‘yes’.
You went back to your room and dressed for the weather; a cropped white cami, black cargo pants, and some Jordans.
Summer vacation barely started and you felt exhausted.
You had a part-time at your uncle’s mechanic shop where you help with cars. And right now, thanks to Tia Rio, you had somewhere to stay. Miles wasn’t actually your brother but you just called him that.
You wanted well for Miles. You practically considered him a brother and never would want him in stupid shit that would involve him doing something detrimental to himself.
You worried a bit when he started to come back late home and you had to cover for him. You thought he just went out with Ganke, his friend from school. But you weren’t always sure sometimes because he would come home with some scratches or would be hurt. You tried asking but always got hit with “Oh it was Ganke’s cat” or “Nah I just fell on the way home. I was studying” so you quit it.
But as long he’s okay, you’re okay.
You stayed with Rio since your parents lived back in Chicago and you went to school in New York.
All you had now were Tia Rio, Uncle Jeff, Uncle Aaron, and Miles. But that didn’t matter. You were happy.
You got 2 empanadillas before you took a scoop of rice and swiftly left the kitchen, “Ya me voy, Tia!”
You took your skateboard, and your canvas bag, and went to Aaron’s since he needed your assistance again for work on the AC.
Skateboarding while occasionally glancing at graffiti or some posters was your favorite thing to do and listening to your current favorite cassette on your Walkman (currently 'Fantasy' by Mariah Carey).
You felt old since you've had it for a good few years.
Your major was currently in business in case you wanted to start up something in the future
“What’s up, Unc!” You dabbed up your uncle as he laughed. “What’s good, man? We’re gonna have to work on this AC. They want it done by 4. Think you-“
“Yes, I got it.”
You cracked your knuckles as you got to work, picking up the roof of the car and working on the AC.
It didn’t take long to finish. You did auto shop in high school and it was easy to fix. You also added a new air freshener because you felt nice today.
After working on a few other cars and their issues, you noticed it was getting dark out and felt tired.
“Imma clock out. Bye, Unc!” You said your goodbyes and took your skateboard to go back to Rio’s.
Until you saw Miles, walking around the street.
“Hey, what’s up”
You stopped before you saw Miles looking around the street and sneakily going to an alley.
This part of New York ain’t pretty and you were not pleased to see your 17-year-old cousin sneaking around. It was 7 p.m too which was even more strange since Miles' studying ended at 3.
You dropped your skateboard and started following Miles. You didn’t care, you had 4 other skateboards and it was old anyway.
You couldn’t believe this! Was he doing drugs?
It wasn’t until Miles took a turn to an abandoned warehouse, near a bodega you used to go with him.
“Just what the hell are you doing Miles..?”
You slid through the fence opening and hid behind a blue barrel, just watching.
Miles then went into the warehouse and a few minutes later, he popped out with a car.
Since when did Miles have a car?! A Ford Mustang Fastback to be exact.
It looked like the same one Aaron had but never used. Your Uncle Aaron has a collection of cars and never paid attention, but you did.
You knew Miles could drive because you taught him how to back in Chicago when he came to visit.
He came out of the car and went inside the warehouse where you followed him again.
Right when he was going to enter, you had enough, “OYE MILES!”
Miles froze and turned around facing you. He looked like he saw a ghost.
“What are you doing here, Y/N?”
Your face shifted to a confused face. Miles always has called you by your nickname, never by Y/N.
“Miles what’s going on?”
“Noth-“
Your voice turned stern as you grabbed his shoulder to look you in the eye, “Miles, what the fuck is going on?!”
“Y/N…”
“Answer me, Miles.”
“Y/N!”
“JUST ANSWER ME!”
“I-I don’t think you should be here…”
Your eyebrow raised at your cousin’s words.
“Says who?”
Miles' face shifted from distraught to scared.
You felt a tap on your shoulder from behind you, sending shivers down your spine as you felt claw-like nails scratch the material of your shirt as the man tapped you. His voice only sent more shivers.
“Says me.”
The man had a black wifebeater, dark blue jeans, a gold chain, and a noticeable spiderweb tattoo on his bicep.
Miles looked at him and gave him a scared look.
“Oh shit.”
The voice’s owner looked serious.
If he didn’t look like he’d shoot you, you would totally ask him out for some drinks at a bar but considering your circumstances right now, it was the last thing on your mind.
Your heart raced as he looked at you, his red eyes piercing into yours before shifting his gaze to Miles.
“Mira, Morales. What did I say about bringing girls here?”
Miles’ eyes widened as you pursed your lips, “Did he just say, girls? As in plural? Miles, I swear to god I’m gonna beat your ass and all of these bitches-”
“Yo sis-” Miles kept shaking his head frantically as if he was petrified, which he looked like he was.
“How could ya keep this from me? I taught you how to drive, how to”
The man then looked at you and raised his eyebrow, “Look. You either shut your pretty little mouth or we get into problems, and I won’t hesitate to involve your hermanito either.”
He held your chin to face him up even more until you saw a tattooed arm with a punk spiked bracelet. You looked over to the man and he winked at you before having a staring contest with the other man holding you.
“Hands off the girl, mate. If she taught Miles how to drive, then maybe we could use her to some advantage…”
The man with the bracelet gripped at the other’s hand until he finally let go of your chin.
Bracelet guy peered at you and smiled again, “Sorry I didn’t introduce myself! The name’s S-Punk, but you can just call me Hobie and this scary grump is Miguel.”
You slightly smiled at him due to his cute British accent in which he returned the smile.
Miguel glared at the sight and scoffed, “How in puta madre is this little girl going to help us? Prolly doesn’t even know what horsepower is-”
You glared at him and scoffed, “This little girl has worked with over 500 cars in her 23 years of living so don’t think for a fucking second that I don’t know what I’m talking about.”
You grabbed him by the collar of his shirt to face you and felt his minty breath against your lips. His nonchalant face slightly shifted with him pursing his lips at how close you two were.
“Come and try me, little boy.”
Miles stared at the sight in shock and grabbed you by the arm, “Yo I needa talk with her. I’ll meet back with y’all soon.”
You looked back to Hobie chuckling while covering his mouth and Miguel rolling his eyes, regaining his calm composure. You heard Hobie talk but didn’t know if you heard Hobie correctly: “She sure had an effect on you, mate.”
What the hell?
Miles fastened his pace and led you to the side of the warehouse where he then put his hands on his face and yelled.
“WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!”
You put your hand on your hip and raised your eyebrow, “Oh I know you did not just talk to me like that?”
Miles looked at you annoyed, “That guy you were just talking to? Miguel? He’s so- UGH! You should’ve just shut up!”
“What the fuck do you mean he’s so?”
His face grew concerned.
Miles began pacing back and forth and held his head down before he looked up and scratched the back of his neck nervously.
“Y/N, look. He’s dangerous and I don’t want you-"
“MILES! IF YOU KNEW HE WAS DANGEROUS THEN WHY DID YOU" You took a deep breath and calmed down to hopefully get a reasonable answer, “Okay, why is he so dangerous?”
Miles looked shocked from your change in demeanor and took a deep breath, “Sis, don’t get mad, okay?”
You looked at him and glared, “Why would I?”
Miles sighed and held you by your shoulders tightly, “Miguel is a leader of a racing gang…he’s dangerous because he’s one of New York’s fastest racers. And one of the most lethal…”
Your blank expression became even more evident and you froze, “So Miles…you’re in a racing gang?”
Miles gulped and sighed again, “Yes…BUT IT'S FOR THE MONEY. Mira sis, imagine all the shit we could do with that money if I win a race? You can be a mechanic-“
You held your finger against his lips to shush him, “Don’t bring my ambition into some bullshit. Miles, how could you? What if you get killed? You just said Miguel-“
“Miguel can help me. Look, you taught me how to drive and you met Hobie, he considers me a good driver!”
You crossed your arms and rolled your eyes, “Then where the hell is the money?”
Miles flashed a sheepish grin and pointed down to his feet.
He happened to get some new Jordan 13s.
“So what happened to the whole ‘Oh sis! I’ll pay for your dreams!’ when you just-“
You gripped your temple and sighed.
“Hey, I gotta look fresh for the ladies! But some of these races can bet up to 10 grand…”
Miles stopped as he looked beside your shoulder to find Hobie, leaning against the wall and smoking some blunt, “Yo Morales, Miguel wants to see you.”
Miles nodded and left you frozen before Hobie spoke again, pointing at you with his blunt.
“Bring her too.”
He raised his eyebrow in confusion, “Why does Miguel want to see Y/N?”
Hobie smiled as he blew smoke from his blunt, “Oh so that’s the girl’s name? Y/N…it’s pretty.”
Your face shifted to an awkward look as you and Miles gave each other a confused look.
“Hey, Hobie? Hello?”
Miles said, trying to wave his hand in front of Hobie’s face but he kept gazing at you with a mischievous smile.
“Just so you know babe, I’m 20. So if you’re feeling lonely one day and you wanna fu- I mean, hang out.”
“Stop hitting on my cousin. It’s embarrassing to see and it’s gross cuz she’s MY COUSIN.” Miles rolled his eyes and started walking,
He took a hit of his blunt and blew the smoke into Miles’ face, “Why don’t ‘cha shut up, can ya? I don’t know but he said he wanted to see her too.”
Hobie puckered his lips and blew air kisses to you, making you smile sheepishly and laughed.
The three of you walked into the warehouse.
On the outside it looked like it was abandoned but on the inside was a whole other story. You’d expect some machinery for a factory or loads of crates.
You weren’t wrong as they weren’t for manufacturing, but car parts for different people in the gang.
“Welcome to the Arachnids’ hideout, sweetheart,” Hobie whispered. your ear being tickled by his breath against it.
“The Arachnids, huh? Cool name.”
The place was also splattered with spider graffiti. You looked beside Hobie who smiled at you before taking another hit of his blunt and throwing it on an ashtray placed on someone’s table full of mechanic tools.
Hobie was actually pretty attractive. He had multiple piercings, with snake bites, nose piercings, eyebrow, industrial, and several on his ear. He wore the same tattoo as Miguel along with others and wore a simple black t-shirt, dark blue jeans, and an eye-catching vest with several pins and patterned patches.
“So you like The Cure?” You said, pointing at his pin.
“Yup, and you?”
You nodded, “I have ‘Disintegration’ on cassette. My favorite is ‘Pictures of You’.”
Hobie smiled, “Yeah that’s a good song-”
“Are you guys done?”
Miles raised his eyebrow and crossed his arms. You weren’t paying attention to where you guys were going but noticed that you sure as hell wasn’t in the same bright place where the colors and cars resided. It was a dark hallway with you guys in front in.
Hobie knocked on the door and groaned, annoyed, “He’s here.”
“Come in.”
You saw Miguel counting some dollar bills as 2 girls were smoking some cigarettes and talking, a Bachata song playing in the background.
Hoja en Blanco? Rio liked to put on those songs while she cleaned.
Hobie smirked and laughed, “You look like a pimp, mate.”
Miguel looked up and glared at Hobie, “Porque no te callas?”
He glanced at you and raised his eyebrow, “Morales, what’s this girl’s name?”
Miles stiffened. You noticed that whenever Miguel talks to Miles, he just gets intimidated. “Her name is Y/N Y/L/N. She’s my cousin…”
You raised your eyebrow and took a step forward, “Why the hell do you want me here?”
Miguel rested his head on his palm and chuckled, “You’re a mechanic, aren’t you?”
You felt intimidated by his tone and slight accent. The fact it looks like he’s judging you by just looking doesn’t help.
“Yes? Why does that matter?” You crossed your arms and felt a bit of false confidence, which made Miguel widen his eyes and smile a bit.
“Whatever they pay you, I can pay you triple that amount. We do need a new mechanic since Peter is on paternity leave.”
One of the girls smiled, “God I miss MJ…She truly lived up to her name.”
You frowned and tilted your head, “Hey, I didn’t say I was going to work for you-”
Miles grabbed your shoulder and gave you a cautious look.
Miguel stood up from his seat, slamming the stack of money on his desk, “Are you declining my offer, Y/L/N?”
You leaned closer towards him, “What if I am?”
Before Miguel could speak, Miles grabbed you by the arm and Hobie grabbed you by the other, “Hey man, I think we should speak with her before things get…hasty.”
Hobie nodded frantically and opened the door in order to go, holding you back from wanting to say more.
“We’ll see ya tomorrow, mate.”
Once the door was shut, Miguel looked at his side and sighed.
“Damn Miguel, she has the guts to talk to you like that,” Lyla laughed. Jess opened a bag of some Hot Cheetos and chuckled, “Yup. I’m surprised you haven’t pushed her against the wall and went crazy!”
Miguel rolled his eyes and glared at the two women who were currently laughing their asses off.
“She doesn’t realize that just made a huge mistake…”
…..
“You just love to test his ass, don’t you?” Hobie said, his expression reminiscent of Miles’ a few minutes ago before all of this. He opened his Coke and took a sip. He cringed from the sharp feeling of the fizzy feeling on his tongue.
The three of you dipped from the warehouse and were walking back from raiding a near-by bodega.
“Listen, as much as cool this whole Arachnids thing is, I don’t want to be involved in this shit. I’m not even that ‘good of a driver’ so y’know. Plus, why does Miguel want me to be a mechanic for you guys?”
Miles shrugged, “I mean, you told him you’ve worked with ‘more than 500 cars’ oooooh,” He said mockingly.
You rolled your eyes.
“I had to say something?”
“Maybe say something that doesn't make you sound like a conceited bitch-?”
“WHAT WAS THAT??”
Hobie laughed and titled his head back.
“I mean, Miles is a pretty good driver and you taught him. So maybe…or also plus maybe he wants to get with you? Shit, I would too.”
Miles cringed and glared at Hobie, “Man what the fuck?” earning another laugh from Hobie.
“Okay but man I don’t know…”
You felt horrible and hypocritical but the money sounded tempting.
You know. You yelled at Miles for this but you were a mechanic! You’d still work for Aaron as a day job but the money sounded tempting.
You could be able to buy your mom all the perfumes she wanted and fly your parents out to New York.
As you guys were walking, you felt someone tap you on the shoulder behind you.
Thinking it was Miguel, you slapped it and turned behind you, getting the attention of Miles and Hobie.
It was Aaron.
He gave you a concerned look and widened his eyes.
“Uh you good? You left your bag at the shop and I was gonna give it to you. You look like you saw a ghost, man.”
You sighed in relief and grabbed your bag, “Thanks, Unc. I was just thinking you were someone else. I’m sorry!”
“No you’re good. What the hell are you guys doing late at night? Miles, don’t you got summer studying in the morning? And who the hell is this?”
Aaron pointed at Hobie who nervously looked around and smiled.
“Oh! Uh-?” You looked at Miles to give and answer before you felt Hobie’s arm around your shoulder.
“What’s good? I’m Y/N’s boyfriend, Hobie. Nice to meet ‘cha,” he said, holding out his hand to a stunned Aaron.
“What’s up, man. I’m Y/N and Miles’ uncle,” Aaron said, shaking Hobie’s hand.
You stood there as shocked as Miles. He looked like he wanted to bang his head against the nearest brick wall to get himself out of this situation. His racing mentor with his literal cousin?
“Well, Imma go so it was nice seeing you guys. See ya tomorrow, Y/N. See ya, Miles!”
Aaron turned around and left back to his apartment, leaving you, Miles, and Hobie to figure out what just happened.
Hobie then felt his pager go off, “Bloody hell…”
He looked at it, read the message, and rolled his eyes as he showed you and Miles the green letters saying “Bring her tomorrow”.
Hobie looked at you and shrugged, “Guess he wants ya tomorrow,” earning a nod from you and an aggravated sigh.
Miles looked at you tensed, “Sis, are you sure-“
You tried to think about this and nodded. You could be able to protect Miles with this. You could watch over him and could be able to earn more money to support your family out of state.
“I’ll go tomorrow…I have to see what that bastard wants.”
