Oh BOY do I.

I could literally go on and on forever but I should redirect you to this entire fic which is basically a coherent, carefully constructed, novel of those thoughts:

(Those with an astute eye will notice that I call Matilda Henry’s aunt, as in his fathers sister, as opposed to his great aunt. Maybe this is due to the copious amounts of inheritance fuckery brought up in the first chapter. Maybe I forgot because rereading nothing but shadows makes me sad. Maybe I can make it work and I’m going with it.)

#*smacking four year old Henry on the head* this bad boy can hold so many childhood symptoms of autism #look at him. he had no friends. didn't respond when people called his name. zero imitating of the adults around him.#would scream bloody murder if you tried to take something he liked away from him. absolutely did not babble.#probably didn't talk until he was like five. is picking up on no one elses emotions. never seems to waver from “:)” regardless ofenvironmen #anyways. I’m crawling all over the wall connecting random sentences from the books together with red string #Dissecting this shit to the core #Used my Jstor account to go study the York dialect in the 1850s #Which is different than just the accent btw #because I connected the dots #I can make that mistake work actually #Add it to “mistakes I make that actually make sense”#Gloria Branwell does not like her in-laws. Or her husband. Or anyone honestly #plus the inheritance fuckery happening brought up in the first chapter #So a lot of relationships are being being blurred #its worth noting that for all intents and purposes Henry did think she was his great aunt #Which is mostly because a) his mother hated her and b) she died when he was like ten #and therefore died way younger than one would assume she would have.#anyways I love that fic #of all my fics (despite the glaring mistake that I genuinely cannot believe I made what the fuck caterpillar) that one is like #the most detailed #most carefully built up #most “could be inserted into canon”

one thing that really fascinates me about alex is his devotion to art – and more specifically, how he chooses to get some inspiration from scientific works of what he aims to implement in his art. every time one gets to examine some of his lyrics, or even how he explains these lyrics in an interview, they can be greeted by some bits of actual scientific information. an example is how he named his taquería on the moon with the term “information-action ratio”, coined by the critic neil postman, and referenced it in the song four out of five, something that might also indicate an interesting articulation with postman's concept. the line “cute new places keep on popping up”, for example, can express his well-known sardonic discontent regarding the flood of information being generated and transmitted over and over and, as much as it seems visually appealing and does give the idea of benefiting from advanced technologies, it doesn't really add anything substantial to the receiver's critical thinking – and worse, it distances the information receiver from the sender in a communication channel, according to postman.

what i'm saying with this interpretation is, it's known that alex is enamoured with the idea of gathering a bunch of references and condensing them into a mixture of metaphors in his writing, but it's so thrilling how, at times, we can find some bits of science inside of it – and it's even more exciting, just like playing a puzzle game, to find these references and analyse them by doing a similar research to what he did to create his works.

#projecting my major on Vash because them mfs who have changed from the med field majors to that one have some tragic things to tell #and also because I think that Vash would be such a wonderful designer I don’t know why it’s a gut feeling #Nai the law major because of course he would have you seen the guy #he would be a personal injury lawyer because lore #fun fact Nai rested for a semester after the incident with Vash while Vash took two.He never told Nai he would be changing majors #so it was a big big shock for him. they fought again but yk I’ll explain more on that if anyone is interested #as to Kni and WW I thought it’d be funny if they shared a common subject that required a lot of team assignments #and they can NEVER work out together. being an absolute nightmare to the rest of their group #separately they are great to work with. even if Kni can come off as too bossy sometimes he is actually a great leader #and WW would always deliver things on time exactly as it was asked from him #but Kni and WW just never really matched. Kni was too rude at times when WW made a mistake and WW would always clock him if he passed a line #like insulting his reasons for wanting to study security #one day Kni tells him at the beginning of a new semester where they both have unfortunately landed on a shared subject again #“you are not suited for that sort of job Wolfwood. you should simply give up and why don’t you go play role model to your little kids’’#then WW beats him again and then is like hey yk what you’re kinda right. and changed majors and he feels so much more at home studying #education/teaching than security. he fucking hates some things but the end goal makes it worthy #Trigun Uni! No undo button, we die like the kings of hyrule

#they die a lot #ok small rant but do you know how hard it is for me to understand the undo button?#I carve eggs. EGGS.#my primary form of art for years has been on something that's very breakable- but also every stroke I make is completely irreversible #I can't erase a layer of eggshell I carved and I can't cover it up or like. add more eggshell on top of it fhcjdhxudjd #same with etching glass- I can't undo anything there #the closest I've gotten to an erase button before is carving rocks- which you can't take back a stroke but won't really be visible #unless it's really deep and intentional #and I can erase pencils if I sketch it out on an egg first #but other than that it's just. if I make a stroke in art in my mind it's there permanently because there's no going back #If my drill skids across an eggshell while I'm doing it I change the entire design to accommodate that and make the mark look intentional #so this undo button thing makes no sense to me!! If I make a mistake should I not just keep going??? and find ways to work around it #because that's what I have to do with eggs #Also there's layers- and doing layers in digital art is actually easy for me to grasp because I've carved emu eggs #(emu eggs have different tiny layers of colour I can carve through)#but the undo button can die by my blade #like the kings of hyrule to gavondoofies. yes.#personal #lol????

i know astrology is fake but i'm not too keen on how a lot of people on this website seem to be clowning on it as a hobby a bit too hard. i swear the woman who thinks it's neat how she and her friends with the same sun sign are all similar isn't trying to say that you are who you are born as and there is nothing you can do to change it. it's a hobby. an interest. what happened to finding meaning and joy in the small things. does it affect you if someone enjoys tarot reading or crystals. does it make you upset someone has interests that they enjoy.

#im not saying astrology/tarot/crystals/etc. get clowned on so much bc theyre hobbies mostly enjoyed by women But....#i saw a post about some astrology study and made the mistake of opening the notes on that bad boy #not fun. and that reminded me of that old post that was basically like ''liking astrology is transphobic''#anyways idk maybe its just that my bestie is very much a ''crystal girl'' but like. stuff like that are such neat hobbies #she makes some cute little jars with pretty rocks and they make her feel better bc if you believe in something you can make it happen #when it comes to small things #like yeah if you pick up a stone that's like ''this can help you be more open with your emotions'' and you are like ''oh hell yea!''#ofc that will be on your mind and the item will be a constant reminder and actually help you with your goals #and its like. ok what really stuck with me was when i was talking with my bff and i was like ''i think all this stuff is interesting but i #feel bad bc i am superstitious and believe in some signs like lucky numbers but i know that logically its just. if i pick a lucky number of #i pay extra attention to it but i want to believe its lucky but i know how human brains work in that aspect''#and she was just like. Maple Leafs discourse on their team social medias makes me lose brain cells because wdym they're first in their division and coming off a 5 game win streak & people are commenting that the top players are only in it for the money and have no drive, that particular players are useless and need to be traded asap, that they're a garbage team, that they'll never make it past the first round just because they lost one game.

Apparently because they are being payed handsomely the players must be mindless automatons who perform perfectly every night. It drives me absolutely nuts how quickly alleged fans will completely turn on their own team.

Question to everyone

I ask because I realized that with the short eight pager coming out I haven’t actually read any of the other comics beyond a few spreads. I still wanna read all of them eventually, but this question came to me and I wanted to see what others thought.

#for the record I’m probably option 2? or 4 depending #I think the fact that the comics don’t have the full crew working on them makes them not quiteee as need to know as the show/movie #but i still think they can contain fun/important character moments #ultimately doesn’t matter but it’s something I thought of for 2012 as well #they have comics too and I gotta say there’s no way I don’t consider Chloe canon so on some level at least #I think they are #but at the same time (this is a hypothetical not related to tmnt) if extra comics contain contradictory info then I’m like hmm #I also think that like - since comics tend to be less accessible to fans than the show/movie that’s another reason to put it at 2 #just something I was thinking about as I was looking back on some panels from the comics #I do wanna read all of them tho make no mistake this is no diss on the comics at all #they look super fun I just was contemplating them haha #edit: I think my ultimate answer is actually just ‘it depends’
