Soap: Ready?
Ghost: Let’s just get over with it
Soap comes out: So… can ye’ notice my progress?
Ghost: I think I see… an ab?
Soap: That’s- a bone.
Ghost: Oh.
(Awkward silence)
Recruit passes by: YOU GETTING RIPPED SERGEANT
(Soap smiles and then glares at Ghost)
Ghost: In my defense I didn’t have my glasses

things we learn about mulder in s1
he wanted to be an astronaut when he was young, and stayed up all night when he was 14 to watch his hero do a walk in space
he's scared to death of fire because his friend's house burned down when he was a kid
he went to oxford 10 years before the start of s1, where he dated phoebe and they, at the very least, made out on arthur conan doyle's grave (but it's implied they went all the way)
he is a fan of like. all of the sports. i cannot keep up with them all, but he sure can
he had his first case at the age of 28, where an agent died because he wouldn't take a risky shot
(and he remembers everything about the man who died- his kids, their ages, what they do for fun- all of it haunts him)
((he also, at the trial for the man who killed the agent, screamed that he "should die like an animal, you son of a bitch"- so much for cool and composed spooky mulder))
he always falls asleep on his couch to the point where i don't even know if this man has a bed
before being moved to the x-files, he worked for 3 years at the behavioral science unit, where he profiled serial killers
(also literally no one wants him on the x files they just keep him around because he is too dangerous to fire lmao)
he will go out of his way to make any kids involved a case he's assigned to feel comfortable and/or laugh as a break from the Heavy Moments (probably because he remembers being questioned while very young and how awful it felt)
he believes that siblings have a psychic connection (heartbreaking when you remember his sister disappeared when he was 12 and he only has access to the memories due to hypnosis)
he refused to let his parents call him by his first name and only went by "mulder", even as a child

Bookworm!Reader meeting Gaz, who is home from his recent deployment, in a library. You're perusing the shelves, looking for your next book to read. Maybe you wear glasses, maybe you don't. Maybe you're also in the military, home from a deployment.
Either way, you're walking down the aisles, when you see Gaz (I'm using Elliot Knight's height as reference) struggling to get a book that he wants. So you, who is taller than 5'11", you go and help him. After helping him get the book, you two get to talking about the books you've read, the genres you both like the best.
Turns out you both like the same type of books and you'd love to recommend each other books, but you both know it'd be an extensive list that shouldn't be said in the library because you're taking up aisle space. So, you two give each other your phone numbers and set up a time to meet. And you both go to your designated location on the day of, with lists of recommendations in your hands. And he's even sweeter than he was before! And so you two continue to meet up and talk about your favorite books, unknowingly going out on little dates.
Reblogs are welcomed & appreciated!

I keep thinking about this really cute and heartwarming scene where someone tries to make a homemade apology dessert to repair his relationship with his vegan girlfriend and, even though they got into a big fight, he's still honoring her dietary needs and is super stressed out because the house he's staying in is filled with animal products. Like they could've had him be spiteful and mean and go "well screw you, I'll just lie and use milk" but instead they take the really thoughtful approach.
...said scene was in a game called Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People.
Sometimes it's the little things.

people often talk about how kid trunks absorbed a lot of vegeta's negative traits - cocky, boastful, competitive, prideful - but i feel like i rarely hear people talk about how future trunks has a lot of gohan's negative traits. he obviously comes off more mature because circumstances forced him to grow up quickly (not unlike gohan), but he's also awkward and insecure. he's never sure of his strength, and always seems to blame himself when things go wrong, even if it's beyond his control. he also seems to view fighting the same way as gohan; not something he enjoys, but something necessary, something he has to be good at to keep everyone he loves alive. until meeting frieza, he never would've had a proper victory in his life; everyone around him was always stronger than him, until one day he was suddenly forced into the spotlight as the last fighter able to take on an unbeatable enemy. no wonder they're so alike, they have almost the exact same trauma.
