A good friend of mine recommended HFBE to me. I don't really have the vocabulary to express how it makes me feel but I'm going to try.
My parents regularly skip meals to make sure my sister and I have enough to eat and even then I usually put half of what's supposed to be on my plate on hers when she isn't looking. The thought of her going without is worse than going hungry myself could ever be.
When I read Akari and Ingo's interactions, it reminds me of my parents and my sister. The guilt of knowing somebody's getting less to make sure you're getting enough but also the willingness to give up anything, everything you possibly can to make sure those you care about are okay. How either way you feel emptier when you go to bed and you can't tell if it's the hunger or the understanding of the situation's escalating severity that's making you feel sick and shaky.
I almost never see anyone acknowledge those feelings, much less acknowledge that it's not about the amount of food that exists, it's about the access to it. But even on an empty stomach and with hope wavering, there's still hope, and that's what makes me want to stick around to read future updates.
You don't have to post this because I'm sure you've gotten it a lot but thank you for this story, truly. I want to show it to my sister someday.
In regards to my fic, Heart Full, Bowl Empty
Anon, I really appreciate you sending this to me. I know HFBE deals with subjects that makes it a difficult or impossible read for some people. It can hit close to home for some, with personal experiences like this.
I try very hard to focus on the fact that everything being done, and every choice being made in the situation is done out of love and care for others in times of hardship (It's why I loved the name of the fic so much when 'Heart Full, Bowl Empty' was suggested to me by an anon - there may not be much on the plate, but that doesn't diminish how full everyone's' hearts are with compassion and empathy) and it's ultimately what keeps them going.
Things may get rough, but there is hope and love, those things are going to be the key to help that will ensure better days ahead.
Thank you again so much for the ask anon. I appreciate this ask so very much, and it makes me happy to know you appreciate this fic and how it handles things.

I will open my heart to you.. but
Oh Lord.. Oh Allah, make fun of every one who loves you.. and hopes to meet you to enter him into Paradise.. And I also hope that you will feel our suffering and feel what we are experiencing from your hearts, because we die every day and you will not feel it because you are not living with the same pain and suffering.
You will say, I swear, I feel sorry for you. You are sincere and sensitive, and you see our suffering on television.
But we have tasted bitterness, injustice and oppression, and what oppresses you is that most of your followers do not read all my words and do not feel all the pain you go through.
Do you know what pain and suffering is?
We live and do not know our fate, and every day the Israeli army throws leaflets at us from its warplanes to evacuate our places. We were displaced 7 times, and each displacement incurs great expenses and a new tent when you escape without it.
Do you know what Azma’s suffering is, and I would like to ask you... The tent that we make to cover your household and family... Do you think it covers our hardships? The answer is no, no. Our tents are set up in the street and are exposed to all passersby.
I am now crying, and I and my young son are in the hospital, and my son is receiving treatment because he inserted an ear cleaning tool and inserted it so much that it pierced his eardrum and he caused severe bleeding from his ear, and all of this is because of displacement and war 😭😭
It was late, and the hospital was 4 kilometers away from me, so I carried my son and went on foot, and the warplanes were bombing the Nuseirat camp, as the direction to the hospital was from the same road.
I want to ask you: How do you feel when you are afraid for your son, and you are walking a long road, amid heavy bombardment?
I hope you watch the two video clips, which explain in detail our suffering, as the first video is for my 7-year-old daughter, who dreams and makes one wish: that you feel us and stand with us.
The second clip explains the suffering we are experiencing in detail, and shows the suffering of the tents.. and my wife preparing fresh bread.. and I was lighting fires to prepare food while my children were next to me.
Feel for us from your heart... Donate generously and ease our pain so we can travel and live a safe life, I hope you share it strongly so that the world can see the suffering we are experiencing.

Have you ever experienced seeing your dream broken in front of your eyes and not being able to do anything about it? Have you ever thought about living in a tent in a cold and unclean ocean, sleeping on the sand, without a bathroom or water? Have you thought about living in a place where you can’t meet your family’s basic needs and feel helpless about it?
I am Shahd from the southern Gaza Strip. All my life, I have been building a life for me and my family. It persisted in a good future, when the war in Gaza began on October 7, 2023. We were in extreme fear during the displacement, and found ourselves in an insufficient small tent. Despite the lack of safety, food, clean water and the spread of diseases, we had to live this difficult life under bombardment, knowing that at any moment, my family and I could lose our lives
My whole life has been scattered, and I am extremely frustrated and sad by the ongoing genocide I witness every day
Do you understand what it means to be in a situation where you have been displaced over and over again, just to reach the only supposed safe area that I ordered you to go to by a much stronger force than you as an unarmed civilian, just to be told that you can’t be there anymore? After you lose everything, like your home, your memories, your friends, your family and loved ones, your job, and everything you have worked hard to achieve...
Amid these hardships, I see a glimmer of hope, because I haven’t given up yet.
If you know of any organizations, associations or entrepreneurs who support and fund projects, please do not hesitate to share my association with them.
They can also contact me directly.
I know that the path to success after destruction can be difficult, but with your help and support for me and my family
hello, my friend. i am so sorry i wish i could do more!
to my followers, please, share or donate to shahd's gofundme! either via the link in this post or the post pinned to their page @shahesblog. only 4000USD out of 50,000USD has been raised to shahd's family to safety.

🇵🇸 PLEASE DO NOT SCROLL! 🇵🇸
Below is a written piece by Rawan Muhammad, a Palestinian woman who needs our help. Please read her writing and donate to her GoFundMe. If you cannot donate, please, please, please share her words and her donation link!
Tumblr media
FIRST PIECE-GOFUNDME WRITEUP
My name is Rawan Muhammad, and I am communicating with you from northern Gaza. I am studying in my third year in the Engineering Department. My future, my dreams, and my university have been destroyed. I am seeking to restore my unknown future because of this damned war, like the rest of the world’s students. My family and I are facing unimaginable hardships. Imagine an entire sector without water or electricity. There is no food, hospital, education, or home. We are on the verge of famine in the north. The terrible loss of our entire family shattered our lives. Our home was completely destroyed. Not only that, we became homeless forever because it was taken into the entity's buffer zone, we were left with nothing, leaving us alone in a world full of uncertainty and despair. With no source of income or support, we find ourselves navigating through these difficult times amid the ongoing atrocities of the occupation. Every second a new massacre is committed and rings of fire that no person in this world can bear. During this ordeal, I appeal to you to extend a helping hand to us, and to offer hope and comfort in our darkest hours. Your generosity can make a profound difference in our lives, providing us with the means to rebuild and forge a brighter future.
Can you describe this and focus with me for a moment, but try the feeling of every Gazan among us. 8 months ago, this damned war on the Gaza Strip began. It did not come out of nowhere, but rather because of the siege we are living in in this beautiful city. There are no free crossings open to us like other countries, no trains, no jobs, and no people’s most basic rights. Simple in any country, everything is controlled by a murderous Zionist entity that controls us
Every Gazan among us had dignity and self-esteem that was distributed to the whole world, and he sat at home happily, despite the sorrow we were experiencing. We were satisfied, relaxed, and thanked God for the little things. Everything was simple and made us happy. Our demands were simple, despite what made our specializations under this, including usurpation. It was considered... He made a great effort in the Middle East and stood alongside the largest countries in the world with the largest weapons in the world towards simple adaptation that did not have the equipment and equipment, but always relied on God.
Come, listen and focus on what Al-Ghazawi has been experiencing since October 7. No one has remained in his home since that day. We have all become displaced from place to place, under the belts of fire, under the remains of innocent women and children, under the rubble of houses that have become graves for their people. During this period, only one ambulance was able to go out. Anyone who left as a martyr was directly targeted, even if he was under international protection
They did not spare an ambulance or a journalist to broadcast the truth and the crimes committed by this accursed occupation. They were doing so to conceal the hideous truth that they were committing against our children, our women, and our elderly. I remember during that period, I did not sleep for just a single day due to the intensity of the bombing, the fire belts, and the hideous massacres. I was saying every second, “Here it comes.” It was our turn. We were all bearing witness to ourselves. Perhaps it was our last breath. No one would accept us to sleep alone. We were gathered in the same room. You can imagine why, so that none of us would feel sorry for anyone.
It was committing massacres in a very crazy way. The sound of the drones and the warplanes did not leave the Strip for a single day. Imagine, 24 hours a day, you hear that sound. Dear listener, our people were deceived into leaving to the south, considering it a safe area. More than 2 million people were displaced to this area. They tasted the scourges of torment in this small, inexhaustible outpost. It can handle this number due to its small area and the army entering every area and destroying it. After they used to rest in their homes, they began to move in tents from one area to another every now and then due to the ground entry of the occupation. Have you tried living in a tent and enduring its extreme heat, dear? You can imagine since that day there is no internet. In the Gaza Strip, there is no reassurance transmission, and there is no drinking water, and since that day, this city has not been illuminated
We now walk very long distances to obtain water. Our most basic rights are not potable water, but rather well water. We use it for drinking and other means. We no longer have a washing machine to wash clothes. All of this happens in the hands of the women of Gaza. We cannot fill a single barrel to use it to rinse the utensils. We fill the utensils and wash them. You can imagine. How difficult this is. There is not a single gas point in the Strip to use for cooking. We buy wood at very high prices for cooking. There is no electricity to charge the phone or battery to use for lighting. You have to walk some distance to find someone who uses solar energy to help you charge to meet your needs at nominal prices. Can you imagine? This suffering is not the hunger that afflicted us for months in northern Gaza because no aid truck has entered since the beginning of this aggression.
Everything has become insanely expensive due to high prices. The Strip has become on the brink of famine. Imagine your child waking up to get a living and you cannot meet his request in northern Gaza due to the lack of a living. My people in the north were going under death, under tanks, and over the bodies of martyrs who rose to get food. Every night, a new massacre was committed against these civilians who went to silence their starving children. Otherwise, they were deprived of their education, as their schools became shelters for the displaced, and there were no banks from which to spend your salary. If you wanted to receive your salary, you would receive half of it because of the high commission, so the sector became on the verge of poverty. Due to the lack of banks, everything in Gaza was destroyed. There was no house, street, mosque, hospital, school or university left to complete my dream and future that I started with. Everything was completely destroyed and nothing remained in Gaza except the complete destruction of the infrastructure. This is the goal of this damned war 😭
To this day, we cannot buy anything. We were deprived of all kinds of vegetables and fruits for 8 months in the northern Gaza Strip. Even if they are available in small quantities, their price is so crazy that you cannot buy them. You can imagine all these crimes happening in a small city in exchange for an organization that relies on God. Save what is left of us in This great city conveyed our voice to the world 💔😭
The situation is very bad in the north. Famine is hitting us again. We cannot really get food now. There is no gas or wood for cooking. The situation is very bad. We do not have our most basic rights. For 8 months, we have not eaten meat, vegetables, fruit, or anything that is found in malls, such as chocolate and chips. 💔 And we were satisfied. We ate the grasses of the earth and animal fodder here in the north for 5 months, and here the famine returns again.

Hi dear donors ! ❤️
I would like to extend my thank and gratitude for the support you have been offering over the last eleven months. ❤️☺️
My family and I have been suffering and going through the hardest days we have ever experienced in our life . Things are very hard to get and and sometimes unattainable.😭😓
Our sufferings and hardship started on the first days of the war when all our possessions were completely destroyed and burned. We have become displaced and homeless , finding ourselves in a small tent in streets with no means of life. We lack every single necessary thing of life; food, water, hygiene essentials, and other necessities have become scarce and rare.
A photo taken to show how incredibly harsh our life has become after the war. We are struggling and facing lots of barriers to obtain the simplest necessities for living. Everything single thing is a complete story.
You can't imagine what difficulties we have been going through all these days of war. No cooking gas , nor cooking tools exist . We struggle to prepare a small meal of food.
No bakeries are available. Everything seems a miracle and unbelievable.😭 The war has stolen our joy and smile, leaving us busy thinking only of staying safe and alive. Our future has gone with the wind and our kids lost their dreams and ambitions.
This is a part of burying the dead. We also face some problems in the process of buying our dead people as no place is there for the family. Tombs aren't enough for the number of people living on a small spot of land.
A photo taken for the morning queue of filling our gallons with drink water. We wait hours to get some water for drink. Our life is full of tragedy and sadness.
All what we need is to survive the war and be safe. We are trying to secure the daily basic living necessities and this can come true with your contribution and support. Please don't spare this moment of supporting the people in need in Gaza in this tough and dire time. You can help us by either donating however small it is or sharing my posts. Your support makes a big difference for families in need.
I can't donate, but I can share. I'm so sorry!

Hello, I am Hashem from Gaza 🇵🇸, married and have a baby.
I know that asking for help is difficult, I ask you for a small donation of 20€ to provide the basic needs for my family and my child, save our lives and escape to safety as soon as possible.🙏💔
Please help us and do not ignore, your donation saves an entire family
I would be very grateful to you for your donation and standing by us ❤️
https://gofund.me/5b6f1940
Hi Hashem,
Thank you for reaching out. I'm sorry to be writing back so late.
I've donated €30 and am posting here to encourage others to contribute to your fundraiser as well.
Since I donated €50 to your brother Hazem's fundraiser, I unfortunately don't have the funds to donate an equal amount to your fundraiser. While I hope Hazem will be able to share the funds he collected with the whole family, I wanted to contribute what I could to your fundraiser to support your wife Samar and your baby Omar as well.
I'm so sorry for the hardship, tragedy, and trauma your family has been through, especially with the loss of your father and the complex medical needs he was facing; and with the displacements your family experienced from Khan Younis to Rafah to further south and enduring the cold and explosions.
And while I'm happy Samar was able to deliver baby Omar this past February, I'm sorry too Omar has suffered pneumonia and skin rashes in his time growing up in a tent.
I hope for you, Samar and Omar, and your family to be able to evacuate to safety and I wish for you and your loved ones to be able to heal and rebuild. I send my love and solidarity from New York to Gaza. May Palestine be free so that one day your brothers Islam and Hazem can rebuild their supermarket and so that Omar can return to his homeland and grow up happy and healthy.
Take care,
A.W

Hello, I hope you are all well. I am Mohammed, a Palestinian from the besieged northern Gaza Strip. I was shot in my left hand by an explosive bullet and I need a bone graft and to build my home and the home of my two children, Ameer and Mamlak, who was born in the war and whose father is far away in Egypt due to the siege and war. He has not met them except for pictures. I ask you to support my newly created campaign to help my family survive the horrific war on Gaza to safety and peace. Life has become extremely harsh, difficult, full of hardships and painful suffering. We lack all the basic necessities and essentials of life such as food, water, medicine and other needs. The war has taken everything beautiful from us, leaving us homeless, displaced and unemployed. Everything is difficult and impossible to obtain. Water and living conditions are inaccessible and incredibly unreachable. The war has made our lives desperate and hopeless. My family of thirteen has been going through the hardest days they have ever experienced in almost twelve months due to the catastrophic war. The rise in prices of all essential necessities of life has complicated our living conditions, especially when all our savings have been spent on the least necessities and needs. A photo taken of me injured and the children who need to be evacuated. 😭😭😭That's why I'm asking you now to ease our burdens and the burdens of our lives through your contribution. You can help my family survive by donating whatever you can or reposting my messages My campaign @90-ghost @ibtisams @appsa @buttercuparry .
I’m so sorry for being late. I don’t particularly have a large audience but this is the least I can do.

fellow mixed person here (Mexican) I’m sorry that you’ve also had to go through belittling conversations about your identity and I appreciate you sharing makes me feel not alone, for me It feels like when your trying to get to your roots or share / divulge in your minoritys culture it’s “what percentage are you again” but when your put in a position or situation where “a white person should be in your place” (according to society) everyone can tell and makes a point to make sure you notice
yes it's a lose-lose situation to try to appeal to, and the only way out for me has been simply realizing I have nothing to prove even when people suggest I do or make racist remarks about what I should look like or act like according to their idea of culture in their minds.
I grew up in a white step family after my mom passed and experiences a lot of racial trauma from the way I was treated and how things that I had grown up with from my mom (food, music, tv) was all treated as weird, gross, and othered. I also am from Pennsylvania so unlike a lot of west coast Asian Americas I didn't have any community to fall back on when my mom died so whatever cultural connections I needed through her were also severed and I was one of the small handful of Asian people in my whole school the rest of my childhood
Being mixed is genuinely treated either like a problem or like a fetish to most people and it's a really violent experience in my opinion. Growing up in America and being told my roots were weird and gross and then going to Taiwan and being treated as an outsider and being asked if I was REALLY there to see family or not was humiliating.
I think most mix people can agree that if you look closely at a lot of social dynamics and media there's a lot of clear evidence of society thinking there's no place for us and it's a really sad thing to internalize and hard to come out of
I think about it a lot because for a long time I heard so much "waaah wahhh mixed people always cry about being oppressed when they aren't" type stuff from people whenever I'd try to speak out a hardship I experienced and I felt pressured to agree and dismiss my own trauma to try and be accepted and I've realized now how terrible that was for me and that anyone of any race trying to tell you how to "be" mixed or yourself is actually committing so much emotional and social violence against you and you don't need to take that.
love u

I'm Ruth from Gaza. Am sorry for sending you this request without your permission. My house was destroyed in the war, and my family lost everything. We've been displaced multiple times, but there's no safe place here. I'm battling Type 1 Diabetes and can't afford insulin, and my mother needs treatment for kidney failure outside Gaza. Any donation, no matter how small, can help us survive and get my mother the care she needs. A friend outside Gaza is helping with the donation program. Please reach out if you need more details.
i am so sorry for the hardships you are experiencing.

Our sufferings and hardship started on the first day of the war when all our possessions were completely destroyed and burned. We have become displaced and homeless , finding ourselves in a small tent in streets with no means of life. We lack every single necessary thing of life; food, water, hygiene essentials, and other necessities have become scarce and rare.
Our life has been tough and harsh all the last time. No cooking gas , nor cooking tools exist . We struggle to prepare a small meal of food.
No bakeries are available. Everything seems hard and unbelievable.😭
