Looking for a RebelCaptain beta reader???

Chapter 1 one of my RebelCaptain fanfic is DONE (finally). I’m just not sure if more description is needed or if my grammar is off? I’m not sure how to find a beta reader but if anyone is down that would be awesome :). If not that’s fine too! I’ll keep rereading it. The first chapter is basically the set up of the story with the next chapters diving into their life together hehehe.

“Jyn Erso gets caught by the Empire shortly after being abandoned by Saw Gerrera and his Partisans at age 16 and is sent to live with her father on Eadu. Ten years have passed and Director Orson Krennic has become suspicious of Galen Erso’s loyalty to his work. It doesn’t help that Jyn has been increasingly intemperate in the past few months. In order to maintain control over the family and the further development of his ground breaking project, Krennic decides to send Jyn Erso to Coruscant to continue her life living in her family’s old apartment. However, Krennic is overtly aware of Jyn’s disdain for the Empire and doesn’t trust her to be left alone. He hires an imperial officer as a bodyguard/informant named Joreth Sward to watch over the girl. Little does he know this officer is one of the Rebel Alliances best spies; Cassian Andor.”

ok so i knoe i commented about this awhile ago but i need you to understand the amout of SHOCK i accidentially put myself through with Francis

so when i read anything, i have a sort of 'default' look for characters in my head until they get described, usually based on assumptions and basic character info, and usually i see the chefs in fics depicted as either 'grizzled dad like callous-handed chef whos been doing this for 27 years' and 'little baybe just-fresh-out-of-culinary-school is sweating all the time cuz of vincents pure aura'

so when i started reading bwb for the first time and Francis was introduced as experienced, i went with the first one. here we go. i imagined him as 1: older & grizzled 2: with stuble 3: with DARK LONG HAIR (with my second read through i am realizing that he was litterally described as blond idk how i came to this conclusion) and 4:, SOMEHOW, short.

im talking LOOKING UP TO VINCENT short.

You have no idea how much this made my day LMAOOOOOO, that was such a hilarious read, I was laughing the whole time XD

But no I totally get the thing where you materialize the characters in your head based on the given info, and tbh two of my characters are based on the dynamics you described (Denis as the grumpy experienced chef and Pierre as the lil babey who just graduated culinary school, except he hasn't graduated yet but end up doing so after the end of the story lol), so I can't say I'm not guilty of having those types of characters.

To be fair to you, Francis's appearance wasn't set in stone at first. Yes he's always been blond but I felt I didn't start going into more details with them so it's completely understandable you didn't see it, as they all started off as placeholders who are just there to gossip about Vince and Rody lmao, and also cuz I don't wanna write "chef 1", "chef 2"... every time they're mentioned.

He didn't even LOOK like that in his first version, the only difference between him and other characters is that he's blond and has long hair, I only started to flesh out his appearance more to match his "hot charming guy who's always so collected for some odd reasons" shtick of his lol

Regardless, I'm really happy to see that people enjoy seeing him! (a bit too much sometimes, yes if you know what I mean, I'm looking at you freaks (talking as a fellow freak myself)). I myself also like how he looks now :D Amongst all the characters I've ever made, he's one of my fav

He serves cunt looks cuz that used to be his full-time job lol He was a full-time model and would've continued doing so if baking wasn't his passion, but he still loves taking care of his looks, especially his hair

Also he'd let you stroke his hair if you ask nicely :3 And per Pierre's words, yes, it's confirmed Francis's hair is softer than silk

(Oh also side note, hope the bookbinding stuff is going well! :D)

I liked this show a lot more than I was expecting to. I only watched it in the beginning for Aou and while his character did end up being my favorite I also really enjoyed the rest of the show as well. There was a lot of great character development from all the main characters and lots of cute and also very satisfying moments. This show did a lot of things right imo and I will happily rewatch it again. I'm giving the show an 8 overall.

                                                Her eyes roamed on me shamelessly and it made my lips curl. I didn't even dare to take a step closer, scared she'd take a step back so i just waited a few minutes.

We were getting along so well since the start of this trip and it made me realize that most of the time, we had fun together, no matter what we did. The only reasons why we fought was because of jealousy or about the status of our relationship but if we ended up dating and trusting each other, what we had would be epic. I knew it. I felt it. I just didn't know how to tell her anymore. I didn't know how to convince her. But the more time we spent together, the closer I felt to her, and I just hoped that at some point, she'd see what I see.

"Turn around." she let out in a low tone, making me raise my eyebrows.

"Are you... serious?" I asked gently. She started nibbling on her bottom lip and it made me realize how nervous she was. "You know you're beautiful, right?"

"I don't have the kind of body that makes people stare and I know it." she let out, shaking her head lightly. "You say you love having sex with me but, it's all about that connection we have, it's about those feelings. Me just getting naked in front of you wouldn't do anything to you without that."

My lips parted slightly and I frowned  before shaking my head too. "The connection and feelings are all that matters, don't you think?"

"I've always just... wanted to be gorgeous for someone, you know? I was never the pretty girl, I was never really important. If I was in a book, I'd be the ugly and fat best friend. I want to be the protagonist."

I took a few steps closer to her slowly and she didn't move. I blinked a few times and breathed in before sighing with a small smile. "You're the main girl in my story, Devie." I whispered. "I thought you knew that."

Her tongue ran nervously on her bottom lip and after a while, she grabbed the bottom on her shirt and passed it over her head. I waited, motionless, as she took off her pants too and I tried to keep my eyes locked with hers for as long as I could. I didn't resist too long and my eyes traveled down on her breasts, moving to her stomach and panties. I knew I was the one who didn't want us to have sex anymore but I had no idea how I'd be able to resist and quickly, I looked up in her eyes and my lips curled on the left.

"Last one in the pool is a loser." I said a bit too loud before jumping in the pool.

When I got my head out of the water, I pushed my hair out of my face wth a fast head movement only to see Devon near me, in the pool. She was rubbing her eyes and my lips curled in a smirk.

"Got water in your eyes?" I asked, pushing more water at her and letting out a laugh.

"Hey!" she did the same to me and we started fighting. I was hearing her laugh, keeping my eyes closed as I received as much water as I was throwing, and it made my heart swell in my chest. I felt a bit bad for changing the subject and not commenting on her being half naked in front of me, but I was so close to kiss and touch her that I just had to move away.

When we finally stopped, she had a smile plastered on her face and she swam a bit closer to me. I watched small waves still move over her chin and it made me want to kiss her again. Everything made me want to kiss her.

"You know, I said I didn't want us to have sex anymore because it hurt too much, but that doesn't mean we can't be friends." I pointed out randomly.

I had no idea if I'd be able to be only her friend. In fact, it seemed highly impossible. Every single time I looked at her, I was tempted to kiss her and tell her how I feel. It was almost automatic, and it was not easy to stop myself. I wanted to write a million songs about her and whisper them to her in the dark, late at night, when we'd be cuddling. I wanted to share everything with her and I wanted her to trust me enough to do the same. I wanted to be the one to make her laugh, to make her smile. I wanted to be the first person on her mind when she'd wake up, and the last before she'd fall asleep at night. I felt so selfish to want all that, to need all that, yet here I was, wanting it so bad it was almost unbearable.

"We can try."

From the tone of her voice, I knew she didn't believe it could work either, but I was ready to try. Not having her in my life would be too tough on me, I knew it.

"Okay, good. Then you should let me show you how to snowboard tomorrow."

This time, she laughed and shook her head. "No, I don't think so."

"Come on, it'll be fun! I promise I won't laugh at you."

She seemed to think for a few seconds, her eyes never leaving mine, and when she finally nodded, my smile grew more. She started running her fingertips on top of the water, and I watched them move, leaving a trail behind. I couldn't understand why everything she did endeared me but It didn't matter.

"You know you're wearing white boxers, right?"

"Yes." I chuckled. "I'm the one who put them on this morning. Besides, that's the only underwear color I own."

"Do you know I'm gonna see your dick through it when you get out of the water?"

"Is that a complaint?"

This time, she just giggled and it made me smile even more. She started swimming away, turning around and getting on her back to float. I followed her to a part of the pool that was not as deep and she disappeared underwater before moving back up very close to me, right in front of me. She sent me a smile and I loved how the lights of the pool reflected on her face. I took a step closer and she took one back, making her smile get bigger. It faltered when her back hit the side of the pool and she tilted her head as I moved even closer.

"You're so beautiful." I whispered as she tilted her chin up to look in my eyes. "You make me want to.."

I stopped myself and pressed my lips together but she just raised her eyebrows up as her lips parted.

"I make you want to what?"

I knew she expected something sexual and I hesitated. Should I tell her just what she wanted to hear, or what I really was about to say? I took my hand out of the water and brought it to her cheek, running my wet fingers on her skin, noticing her eyes fluttering at my touch. I brought one of my thumbs on her bottom lip, brushing it gently before one of my fingers ran slowly down her tiny nose.

"You make me want to drop up everything for you." I admitted in a whisper. "You just have to say it and I'll do it." Her eyes got slightly bigger as she stared at me and I bent down slightly. "Please, say it."

"Niall..." she murmured, making me shake my head.

"You said you loved me earlier, right?"

"That-That's not what I said." she just replied so low I barley heard.

"Do you love me?" I asked, ignoring her comment. We remained silent for a while and I breathed in deeply before repeating my question a bit louder. "Do you love me, Devie?"

"Yes. I do."

Her answer surprised me, making my heart throb all over my body. My vision got blurry and I blinked a few times until I could see her face again. Did I just imagine that or did it really happen? At first, I wanted to ask her to repeat just to be sure I was not dreaming, but I only shook my head, my lips parted. I was searching for the right words to tell her, something smart or sweet to answer, but nothing came to mind. I placed two fingers under her chin and moved it up very slowly.

I brought my head down until my lips reached hers and immediately, her eyes closed. I shut mine tight too before deepening the kiss and my heart skipped a beat when I felt her hands reach my chest. It was a weird feeling, her fingers running on me slowly because of the water, and I couldn't help but bring my hands to her body, too. I moved them over her breasts before reaching her shoulders and moving the straps of her bra down. We both had to go slowly, the water slowing our movements, but it didn't matter. I felt like it was even better this way.

One of her hands moved down my stomach and reach for my dick over my boxers, making me groan in her mouth. She only ran her hand up and down a few times on it and it made me so hard that I felt a bit dizzy.

"Did you ever have sex in a pool?" I asked in a whisper, bringing my hands to the side of her panties, slipping my fingers in and hooking them on the waist band.

It was amazing how fast we could turn each other on and I grabbed one of her legs, gripping my dick with my free hand. She didn't answer and I just kissed her lips gently again before reaching for my boxers and pulling them up. I watched her take her panties back and putting them on without coming out of the pool.

I put both my hands on the side of the pool, pulling me out with a swing and when I turned back to her, she was sending me a smile, pressing her lips together. She finally turned around and reached for the stairs, getting out of the pool slowly. I stared at her too but when she shivered, I realized that I was cold too.

"We forgot towels." I pointed out uselessly as she nodded. "There must be some in a closet near." I added, grabbing my clothes and the keys I had stolen.

She did the same and followed me out slowly, trying not to make any sound. I locked the door again and we walked to the nearest hall. I smiled when I saw a closet and tried a few keys before finding one that worked. She rushed inside and I followed her but when the door closed behind us, I felt my heart jump in my chest.

"Oh shit."

I turned around, running my fingertips on the door, trying to find the knob again and when I tried to turn it, It confirmed what I feared. It was locked.

"What? What's wrong?"

"Devie. I think I just locked us here."

She remained silence for a while but I knew her heart was beating fast because mine was too. "Wait, you got the keys, just unlock it!"

"Uhm, the keys are already in the lock but on the other side of the door."

"Uh-oh."

I blinked a few times, getting slowly used to the darkness, and my eyes followed her shadow as she moved a bit farther. It took only a few seconds before a light appeared and I blinked again, blinded by it. She finally handed me a towel and placed her phone on a shelf to illuminate the room the best she could. I couldn't help but stare at her when she took her wet bra off before running the towel on her breasts. I knew we just had sex but I loved looking at her and when she took her panties off too, I held my breath. I finally took my boxers off and did the same before putting my dry clothes on, going commando. She did the same and let out a sigh taking a step back and grabbing her phone again.

I watched her type something and finally looked up at me with a shrug.

"I messaged Louis, Lewis, Daxia and even Noah. Someone will see this and come help us. I mean, hopefully." she shrugged before the room became dark again.

We ended up sitting down on the floor in silence. I leaned my back on the wall and brought my knees up as I felt her hands on my legs. She moved between them and leaned her back against my chest, making me smile immediately. I moved my face down, feeling her hair tickle my nose and chin and left a few gentle kisses on her neck. Her skin was soft against my lips and I even felt goosebumps appear on it.

"You know we could be stuck here for a while." she added with a chuckle. "I mean, I'm getting used to it now. I don't know if it's a curse or something."

"Seems more like good luck to me." I argued, my lips curling on the left. "There's not one time we were stuck somewhere that was bad."

She leaned her head against me. "Mm, you're right." We both started laughing together and I felt her shake her head as it rubbed against my chest. "Lewis and Louis are gonna tease us with this for years."

"Oh god, I know. Especially if they're the ones saving us." I agreed, chuckling again. "It'll be so bad."

I felt her hands caress my thighs very slowly, moving up to my knees and then back down. Her touch felt so good it made my heart twist in my chest and I closed my eyes, trying to focus on every little movements of her hands and fingers. It made a shiver run up my spine and I held my breath.

"How's your claustrophobia?" she asked in a whisper, making me shrug a shoulder.

"Tolerable for now."

It was true. In fact, I felt extremely relaxed and I was not sure why. Perhaps it was a mix of my post orgasm feeling and the high I felt for hearing her say she loved me, and it made me want to hear it again. It was still hard to believe and somehow, I was scared she'd take her words back, or that something would just blow up in my face.

"Do you love me?" I breathed near her ear, making her chuckle low.

"I answered that earlier."

When Jaime moves north, he rents a small house, sight unseen, only a few minutes from the office; it’s a short-term lease, and will give him a chance to look carefully before he buys. (He’s still not entirely certain he won’t cave within six weeks, head back to King’s Landing with his tail between his legs like his father predicted.) He’s been there three days when he hears music coming through the open window⁠—it’s an old folk song, sweet and melancholy, and he finds himself drifting to the window to find its source.

There is a man⁠—no, on second look he’s fairly certain it’s a woman, though her hair is short and she’s in a man’s plaid shirt and jeans⁠—playing a guitar, and even from here he can see that it’s battered from heavy use. He watches her until the song ends, when she glances at her watch and then waves to someone coming up the driveway. It’s Arya Stark, he realises, and for a moment he thinks Catelyn must have sent her over to check he’d settled in, but then she lopes up the few steps of the neighbour’s porch, a guitar over her shoulder. He shakes his head and resumes unpacking, and doesn’t think of the woman again until nearly a week later.

The problem, though, is that once he starts thinking about her⁠—she spends time most evenings playing music on her porch, folk songs and songs from his childhood and sometimes things he’d never heard and thinks perhaps she wrote herself⁠—he finds it hard to stop. He sees the people that come and go on evenings and weekends, usually children but a few adults, most with guitars of their own; she must be a music teacher, which at least gives him half an excuse to speak with her. So one evening, when he’s seen the neighbour has settled onto the swing of her porch with a tall mug and her guitar, he steps outside and crosses the two narrow drives.

“Evening!” he calls, smiling.

The neighbour looks up, startled, and this close he can see that her fingers are long and elegant, the sort of thing that would have made his childhood piano tutor weep with joy. Perhaps it is an advantage for the guitar as well⁠—his father had insisted that his children learn classic instruments, some dated ideas of accomplishment and status forbidding them from touching so mundane as a guitar.

“You’re Jaime Lannister,” says the neighbour, and her fingers pluck out the first few notes of The Rains of Castamere.

“I see that my reputation precedes me,” he says, feeling his easy smile fall into a sneer even though he’d promised himself he wouldn’t be like that any more.

The neighbour nods with her chin in the direction Jaime had come. “I was the one that told Cat about the house. Promised that if you seemed to be plotting world domination I’d let her know.”

Jaime laughs despite himself. “No, that would be my sister’s MO. I really am the recently disinherited and insufferable twat that I claim to be, though with more morals than people usually grant me.” The neighbour doesn’t reply, not even with a smile, so Jaime forges ahead. “I can hear you, when you play.”

“The houses are close together, I can’t help it.”

“No, I meant… it’s nice. You’re a teacher?”

“Yeah. It helped pay the bills when my father…” the woman shrugs. “Cancer. I couldn’t work, for awhile, but I could do this. He liked to hear the students. And now… I guess I’m a teacher.”

Jaime nods. “What are your rates?”

The woman snorts. “Cheap enough you should look somewhere else. I teach beginners.”

“I’m a beginner,” he says.

“I don’t take students who won’t put in the time.”

“I’m the youngest lawyer to get an Dayne Achievement Award. You think I bought that with my good looks and daddy’s money?”

“You do seem to have an excess of both,” she replies dryly.

“Flattered,” he says, and then⁠—quite possibly because he’s never liked being told no⁠—adds, “I’ll tell you what. I’ll pay double your rate, a month in advance, and you can fire me at any point without needing to refund it.”

“Do you even know my name?”

“Neighbour with the guitar?” Jaime guesses.

That does get a smile. “It’s Brienne. I can fit you in Tuesdays at 7, or Sunday afternoons.”

That was easier than he’d thought; he’s almost disappointed, if he’s honest. “No argument?”

Brienne rolls her eyes. “I need a new roof. Pick a time.”

“Sundays,” Jaime says. “I don’t know what my work days are going to be like yet, and I don't want you to think I’m slacking if I’m late home one nightt.”

She gives a curt nod. “Be here at 3. If you need to borrow a guitar, it’s an extra ten dragons a session.”

“I’ll bring one,” Jaime says. There’s a music shop a few blocks away, he’d seen it on the drive in; buying a decent guitar won’t be a problem. “And maybe after, I could show you some finger motions of my own.”

He regrets saying it as soon as the words leave his mouth, a lifelong habit of winning women over with crude flirtations (aided, undoubtedly, by the good looks and money) hard to break. Brienne just rolls her eyes again, her expression flat.

“Not interested,” she says. “Don’t make me regret this.”

She might. But she might not. He won’t know unless he stays. And, he thinks, he’ll stay at least long enough to learn to play The Rains of Castamere on the guitar, if only for the satisfaction of seeing his father’s face when he does. After that? Who can say.

It’s small and has way too much stuff. For one thing, there’s giraffe stuffed animals all over, including a 4 ft one in the corner. There’s a dresser by the window that has my TV and Christmas decorations on it. To the right of that is a 6-cube shelf with some of the aforementioned giraffe stuffed animals as well as giraffe knickknacks, some coloring books and coloring supplies, a mini Christmas tree on top, a few more giraffe stuffed animals, a nice picture frame with my dog, Brandie, who passed away, and my BB8 droid I made at Disneyland. Above the shelf is an I Love Lucy wall clock. My closest is nearby and is full of medical supplies, 3-drawer file thing with random stuff I insist on holding onto, my shoes, and all my jackets and sweatshirts. To the left of my dresser is my bookshelf with a lot of books and other figurines and knickknacks of various things I like and hey surprise, surprise, more giraffe stuffed animals! Across from the bookshelf and dresser is my bed, which is also my desk cause I keep my laptop on it, my chargers, my phone, a coloring book, a couple packs of colored pencils, my Bible study stuff, my remotes, and my Nintendo Switch. I have a pile of clothes, too, cause dresser and closet are too full. I have like 8 throw pillows, a body pillow, a back pillow, and a couple actual pillows. I have a few stuffed animals that sit on my bed as well, which are a huge squishmallow giraffe, a small squishmallow pug, a small squishmallow Dumbo, a small squishmallow Baby Yoda/Grogu, and a Baby Yoda/Grogu plushie. To the right of my bed is a TV tray that has my bottles of water, my medicine and pill crusher, a box of straws, a glass, a Starbucks Doubleshot energy drink, chapstick, my wallet, a Zip-loc bag with half a glazed donut and half a chocolate one, and a small bag of shortbread cookies. Behind the TV tray is my 3-drawer bedside table, which has a makeup storage thing on it that I plan on cleaning out and getting rid of cause I don’t wear makeup anymore and could use that space for something else, a bottle of lotion, a couple little room sprays from B&BW, and a jewelry tray. Hung up on my walls around the room are a few giraffe framed paintings, a couple beachy canvas paintings, two Alexander Skarsgard calendars, a bulletin board with various stuff pinned to it, and a marker board. There’s also a hamper in here, a floor lamp, a ceiling fan/light, two fans, and an ottoman.

2 hr 17 min in : The diner scene. They're both crying. "Happy Christmas, Potter" - which was of course, I love you.

2 hr 18 min in : No don't you dare compare Audrey and Mrs Barbour. Audrey would never drug her child or use him for her benefit.

2 hr 20 min in : Poor kid bumps into his mom lol. I found it funny.

On the whole

The movie was nice if you'd read the book beforehand. The first hour was steak, The second hour was Korean BBQ and the rest of the twenty minutes were minced beef. If you get what I mean. Weird analogy. It could have been much better. But it was really very nice in some places. Most places I'd say.

I didn't like how the pop songs ruined the mood of certain moments. I didn't like how you couldn't hear the conversation over the music playing. For example in the engagement party when Platt and Theo talked. Or in the diner scene.

Both Borises killed the accent thing. They tried their best. Cut them some slack.

Oakes deserves an Oscar for holding up this movie on his smol shoulders. I was shook at how a kid could act that well.

Popchik deserved more screen time. I'm still pissed they didn't add the Popchik Boris reunion. But then they couldn't make it chronological, what were we supposed to expect anyway.

Ansel Elgort y'all. Theo sure improved his handwriting lol. Ansel's writing is nice. He was actually good in this movie. Better than he was in The Fault In Our Stars. The internet is just mean. The critics too. I will never understand the hate.

All in all, it could have been a better adaptation but it didn't suck as bad as everyone made it out to be. John Clownery should be punished nonetheless. Special shout-out to Roger Deakins for making it work.

Thursday ~

     A normal day really.. I attended my Managerial Accounting class as usual. This time tho, I actually understood everything that was given to me by the tutor lmao. We’re still far away from completing the course since we started it pretty late. In the next 2 weeks, we should be revising the content that we went through through our first 2 months. Ugh, more studies means more work. Accounting is the only course that I didn’t quite prepare for it properly yet. I need to sit down on my ass and figure out wth is going on with it lmao. Anyhow, After the lecture, my homies and I had a small meeting to discuss our research objectives and methods. We should probably start writing it as well as distribute surveys to people. We’re doing it old school style. Face 2 face with papers. I managed to actually go to the gym after a long day. I did cardio the day b4, so I went full-on body-building exercises for 2 hours. (we kinda wasted 30 mins just laughing at each other lol)

Friday ~

     Ay ay ay, I started hating weekends. They’re so boring and unproductive. I be chilling out the whole day on my pc doing nothing. I need to figure out how to manage my time effectively on weekends. Kinda desire the need of a new hobby. I gave it a thought, playing guitar might be a good choice. I always wanted to play guitar in a proper way. Meh, I couldn’t really sleep on Thursday. I kept on changing my sleeping positions for over a hundred times meaninglessly. I tried sleeping on the floor, sleeping on the couch, and even sleeping in a hiking sleep bag. Ah it was funny. I slept at 6 am and woke up at 2 pm. What a way to start ur weekend, huh?

Honestly, it is hotly debated between me, myself, and I, who is more annoyed at my Pokemon-hype this go around. Is it the other people in my life who have to deal with me talking about it, posting about it, watching it, and singing it all the time? Or is it me? Who is kind of getting burnt-out on it already and would love to talk about, think about, and sing or watch anything else at this point, but is incapable of doing that? I feel like it's me 😓

You might think, 'Jo, it is so easy to turn something else on or to listen to different songs that aren't Pokemon,' but I also don't want to listen to anything else. I simultaneously would love to put my focus somewhere else, but am unwilling to do so. Wth???

This is why I'm almost positive that this Pokemon-hype I'm on is due to moving, beginning a new job, and just new surroundings in general. Basically, I'm using Pokemon as some sort of 'comfort blanket'... even though I know somewhere within me that I've kind of outgrown it in a way (you know, I'll be 27 in a week 😅) (not that there's an age limit to Pokemon- I'll be the first person to say that there is not, but I would still describe the placement within me as feeling as if I have outgrown it... but I am clinging to it right now). It's just so familiar that it makes me feel safe. I would ask if that makes sense, but I think it makes perfect sense, lol.

The only time I watch something else is when me and my sister watch My Hero Academia together, but as soon as I am back in my car or in my apartment it's just Pokemon.
