I’m on my Steve shit again I love this man. I hate that Peggy reacts so badly to this because even if you aren’t a Stucky shipper like he confided in her about how women never want to give him attention. At this point he and Peggy have only flirted a couple times he doesn’t really owe her anything. ALSO. This chick is on him like a shark. Shes literally tugging him in and yeah he could walk away but he quite literally doesn’t know what to do. He’s never had this happen before. And if Steve Rogers is one thing it’s a gentleman. Even though he’s secretly a little shit he tries to respect those who he thinks deserve respect- aka like every woman he comes across.

I feel like Legos might be more Steve's thing than Eddie's (because Steve deserves some hobbies and Eddie's undiagnosed ADHD probably intervenes before he can really focus on a set), but they still occasionally partake together.

Eddie definitely got Steve the big Millennium Falcon set (which has a whopping 7500 pieces) for a milestone anniversary because he loves Steve very much and he'd wanted it for such a long time and he deserves it. Steve loved it, obviously. The only problem was he loved it so much that Eddie didn't seem him for about a week while he was working on it.

After that, Eddie tried to avoid buying Steve any of the really big sets, because he sort of gets tunnel vision over it and it cuts into Eddie's Steve-time (unacceptable, obviously).

The D&D set is also a biggun (not quite as big as the Falcon -- it's got about half as many pieces which is still *a lot*). Steve flips out when he catches wind of the collab, and Eddie is totally into the novelty of it, so he's all over it too.

What Eddie is forgetting in the initial excitement is that his stamina for Lego-building is pretty abysmal. They bought the set to build together, but Steve's twenty-plus years of avid building has made him pretty damn efficient and Eddie's attention span isn't anything to write home about, so he ends up just popping in and out while Steve does the bulk of the work (he generously allows Eddie to build the dragon even though he usually is a bit sneaky about building all the the best parts while Eddie is distracted by something else).

Also making my favourite characters go through hell and then receiving comfort from their people is like the best thing ever for me so every time I see a whump!Robin post I like automatically

People loving android!Robin makes me so happy anansnssndsnsns she's curious and excitable and full of wonder and the world keeps punishing her for simply being alive. Sometimes it's too painful even for me, big whump lover 😭😭 though seriously, there is not enough Robin whump, and while all the characters in the show are very whumpeable, hurting my little blorbo Robin feels special because... she's just so deeply lonely. She's lonely and she thinks she deserves to be because of something wrong with her (pulling this interpretation from Surviving Hawkins lore which is canon to me 😭). That was a big idea I had when I first came up with android!Robin... that there is something wrong with her. Broken. In this AU she's literally broken in a lot of way (battery and memory problems, weak joints in her lower half, etc), but that's all within the range of normal robot problems. The real issue with her is that she's sentient. It terrifies people because it really brings out the existencial horror of... well, existing. It terrifies Robin most of all. She is the problem. She is what's wrong with her. She shouldn't exist.

But at the same time, she loves being alive so much! She doesn't understand it and doesn't know how it happened, but it happened, and now she's real and wants to experience life and the world and know people like human beings do. So it's her constant battle to become human despite humans having hurt her so much in the past... only for Nancy to already see her as human. Just one made of metal and plastic, but human nonetheless. She's the first person to see her that way and maybe everyone else thinks she's crazy, but Nancy is used to that. She's so sure of this, though, of Robin's self-awareness. She trusts her so blindly. She doesn't even need proof. And not only does she believe her, but she defends her humanity in front of her friends and family so ardently, fighting so hard for Robin to be aknowledged by everyone else as human. Fighting so hard to give her a home and family for the first time in her life.

Nancy has it bad for Robin, really. She's just so in love, even if everyone else thinks she's crazy for falling in love with a machine (no one thinks she is, though, because they all know Robin, and once you know Robin, it's impossible not to love her).

Steve is batted away like a rag doll, and goes flying into a tree. The sickening crack leaves Dustin stunned, and he stops in his tracks, staring. Waiting for Steve to get back up, like he always does. 

He doesn’t.

Okay, so he’s passed out. Bad timing, but it’ll be like when Billy beat him up. He’ll probably have a nasty concussion, and a broken bone, but it’s fine. He’s fine. He’s always fine. It’s Steve. 

“Steve!” Robin cries. She starts to run to him, but a monster gets in her way and she has to defend herself. One rushes at him, too, and Dustin goes back to the fight. 

As soon as it’s over, Robin is hurtling towards the tree that Steve is still lying at the base of. Bile rises in Dustin’s throat as he follows her. He shouldn’t be passed out this long, it’s a sure sign of severe brain damage. He shouldn’t be laying this still. 

When he catches up, Robin is already shaking him. “Steve,” she pleads as the others come to see what’s going on. “Steve, c’mon, wake up. We gotta get you to a hospital. Hear that? It’s your least favorite word! I’m going to stick you in a hospital for life if you don’t wake up right now—“

“We should check his pulse,” Dustin says distantly. “Make sure his heartbeat’s steady.” He drops to his knees to do just that. Just as quick, Jonathan nudges him away. 

“I’ll do it,” he says, in a voice Dustin’s only heard him use on Will. “I’ve got some first aid training under my belt.”

He doesn’t reply, just takes the hand Robin’s not clutching and stays still, staring at Steve. He can’t stop feeling like something’s off about the way he’s laying there, completely motionless—

His heart stutters in his chest. Steve’s completely motionless. He’s usually so bad at staying still, always running his hands through his hair, or flicking his lighter, or tapping a beat against the steering wheel. Now, he’s not doing any of that. He’s not moving at all. There’s not even a rise and fall of his chest. 

Dustin stares uncomprehendingly. He has the puzzle pieces, he knows he does, but he can’t make them come together. It’s like his brain is rejecting the picture it makes. 

Jonathan pulls his fingers away from Steve’s throat, brow furrowed, anxiety pulling at his features. He starts to take Steve’s hand, but Dustin can’t make himself let go. 

Gently, ever so gently, Jonathan pries his fingers off the limp wrist in his grasp. Dustin lets it happen, silent.

Robin hasn’t stopped talking, quiet murmurs replacing the panicked concern from before. He can’t understand the words through the roaring in his ears. 

Jonathan has turned white as a sheet, frozen with his fingers looped around Steve’s wrist. He thinks he might know what it means. He thinks he’s wrong, he’s wrong, he’s got to be wrong—

Robin shifts to lie perpendicular to Steve, and lays her head on his chest. Quiet, like she’s listening for something. 

She doesn’t find it. 

It’s been three weeks, but Dustin can still hear Robin’s anguished howl ringing in his ears. 

They had to pull her off of him, needed Hopper and Murray both because she fought. Kicked and scratched and screamed when they took her. Kept calling out for Steve to wake up between it all, escaped twice so she could go back and hold him. Hopper was grim, face open and awful, Murray pale and swearing as they wrestled her away. 

Dustin hadn’t moved, still in shock. Jonathan and Argyle had to practically carry him out, because he couldn’t make his limbs work. He couldn’t make himself leave Steve’s side. 

He realized what they were doing halfway to the car. 

“Wait,” he said, twisting, “wait, what are we doing? We can’t leave him there. We can’t leave him alone, he hates being alone. We can’t—“

Jonathan and Argyle exchanged a look over his head. 

“I’ve got him, man,” Argyle said quietly. Jonathan gave a sharp nod before moving in front of Dustin, ducking down to meet his eye. Tears were streaming down his face. 

“I’ll sit with him,” he promised. “Go ahead and go with Argyle, okay? I’ve got him. He won’t be alone.”

“But I—“

“I’ve got it,” Jonathan repeated, voice cracking. Dustin nodded and fell limp against Argyle’s side. He trusted Jonathan. Steve did too. 

When they got to the car, Robin was still thrashing. Murray was practically sitting on her, a bruise forming over his eye. 

“Where’s Jonathan?” Hooper asks sharply when he sees them. 

Argyle gestured helplessly. “Sitting with him. Dustin said…he didn’t want to leave him alone.”

Hopper's eyes were defeated, and he swiped a hand across his face before getting up and heading towards Steve and Jonathan without another word. 

Dustin climbed into the backseat, where Murray finally had Robin pinned. She was yelling herself hoarse. 

“You—you asshole, get the hell off of me, you can’t just fucking—you don’t get it, he needs me, he hates being alone, he hates it, he fucking hates it and he’s never alone. As long as I’m here he’s never fucking alone so let me go—“

“Robin,” he croaked, holding her arm. She whipped her head towards him immediately, eyes wide. 

“Henderson. Dustin, tell this asshole to let me go. I need to go to Steve. We can’t—I can’t leave him alone, please, he needs me there—“

“He’s not alone,” Dustin promised around the lump in his throat. “Jonathan’s with him. Jonathan’s gonna stay with him, he won’t be alone.”

She shook her head. “No, he needs me—“

“Jonathan will take care of him,” he repeated. “He’s Will’s big brother, he’s good at taking care of people.”

She finally stilled, eyes on Dustin. “Jonathan has him?”

He nodded, face wet, and she finally relaxed.

“Jonathan’s good,” she said. “Steve…Steve likes Jonathan.” She laughed, sharp enough to make him flinch. “He’s a sucker for pretty boys.”

Argyle made a low, hurt sound, like he’d been punched. Murray moved to the middle seat, relieved that he no longer had to pin her down.

In a move that they should have seen coming, she opened the door and bolted. 

“Shit!” Murray barked, and ran after her.

If there is one thing that Mateo is right about, then it's that. What I mean with that? I mean the whole "is cap better or is iron man better" thing in season 2 episode 3. He is right! That the whole thing. None is better, they're both different people with different skills, that are useful at different times. It makes me so happy that, for once, this it spoken about correctly!

Even the whole "everything special about you came out of a bottle" scene in the Avengers is supposed to show how wrong they are about each other, how they are more than Manny people see in them. I mean, by the end if the movie, they both proven each other wrong, and they even say so. Soooooo yeah...

Regardless of my own HC of Steve's music taste, in a modern au where he listens to a lot of top 40 and is still a jock, I know this man is not going to be listening to a million pop girlies. I just know he probably is obsessed with artists like post Malone and Mac Miller. He probably also listens to country, dad rock, and stoner rock.

Idk just saw a modern au talk about jock stereotypes and pop music and I was like? Not my experience when it comes to garden variety jocks.

No bc why did I just hear the worst take that doesn't begin to understand Steve whatsoever.

Someone was like "Steve doesn't care abt Nancy in season 2, just abt their appearances".

THIS IS SUCH BULLSHIT

I'm sick of this Steve was abusive or toxic or didn't understand Nancy. Yes, they were bad for each other and Steve could have been more supportive and tried to help Nancy through a difficult time. But what you don't understand is that Steve wasn't trying to keep Nancy quiet because he didn't care about her or what happened to her, it was because he DID care about her.

Steve, at his core, is a protector. Before anything else, he protects the people he cares about. He pushes himself in front of them, he is motivated by pleasing them, by making them happy and safe.

In season 2, a big part of Nancy's investigation is avenging Barb and stopping the government. And while she was so hot for that, Steve was the only one consciously aware of how her exposing the gov would put them in danger. It's not like Nancy was unaware, but the guilt was eating her up so badly that just sitting there and pretending everything was fine would have killed her. Meanwhile, Steve was trying to keep her safe and happy, and thought that if she forgot about it, if she was surrounded at all times, she wouldn't have to experience any sort of pain.

Neither of them was at fault, they were being themselves. The core of their personalities didn't match, and they outgrew each other. Steve's determination to keep her safe clashed with the danger Nancy knew she'd be in and didn't care due to her need for action.

Anyways they're in love with each other (platonically) and no hater can stop that so stfu

i have this like. strong dislike of any plot where someone replaces max in getting vecna'd. its usually steve but sometimes its eddie but either time its like.... COME ON...... max's character is so enriched by her experiences in season 4. her complicated feelings of grief and anger and self loathing is just so good. don't take that away from herrrrrrrr
