Play with my heart (Epilogue)
[ modern actors ⢠Aemond x Strong ⢠female ]
[ warnings: semi-public sex, smut, angst, fluff, sexual tension, little domination & praise kink ]

[ description: He gets the main role in a series about a great family and dragons, which could change his career. He is set to play the uncle and love interest of his childhood friend. When he meets the actress who plays her role, he begins to lose track of what is an acting and what is his real feelings. Sexual tension, grumpy, withdrawn, thirsty Aemond. ]
Authorâs note:Â Yeah. I talked about it and I did it. You don't even know how much fun I had doing this. Of course, my characters play in a series whose script is an exact copy of my story The Fall from the Heavens. In this universe, Aemond (playing the One-Eyed Prince) and Rhaenys (playing the Princess) are of course not related â the other characters are also just actors. This three-part series is my gift to all fans of the original series, thank you so much for your support. "Rhaenys" in this story is her artistic pseudonym which she use instead of her real name. You can read this as a standalone story.

_____
The first months after the shooting were both wonderful and terrifying for him. Contrary to his grandfather's predictions, he did not stop thinking about her; moreover, he missed her so much that he did not know what to do with himself.
He got used to their daily conversations, the embrace of her warm arms, falling asleep between her soft breasts, watching Disney movies together with her with a big bowl of popcorn.
She brought a breath of fresh air into his life, a smile, lightness and laughter, forcing him to let his inner child that he had always suppressed within him come to the surface.
With her, he was not ashamed to be weak, tired, sad, discouraged. She gave him the comfort of knowing that all his feelings as a human being were natural and desired by her, no matter how ashamed he might be of them.
They tried to see each other every two weekends, taking turns visiting each other. Although he wanted to spend time with her walking around museums and parks, they usually ended up staying in bed all the time off, trying to make up for lost time.
They also saw each other at interviews to promote the series, for which the producers sent the actors in pairs, and unfortunately, although they tried to hide it, a few gestures and glances during them caused both her and him to be flooded with a wave of comments from fans so large that they had to block them from being added to their profiles.
Nooo, they're not a good match. đŤ
It's just a promotional trick. They're going to break up after they finish airing the series. đ
Leave my prince alone!!! đ¤Źđ¤Źđ¤Ź
I'd love to fuck her myself, not gonna lie đ
It's already clear where the chemistry between them comes from, lol. Pathetic. đ¤Ž
Both of them were very much affected by the nasty comments and criticism, fearing that the production would draw some consequences against them, but it turned out that this made the whole project generate even more interest before the premiere, which pleased them.
However, in between the nasty, bitter remarks, they also received messages filled with good emotions, wishing them luck, saying that they were great to watch, that they complemented each other perfectly in interviews, that it was clear from the trailers that there was genuine affection between them.
They tried to cope with it all by talking for hours on the phone, sometimes crying together from sadness and exhaustion, falling asleep with speakerphone on, waking up in the morning and seeing that they hadn't hung up all night.
He felt he was ready to move on and thought everything through, at the same time wanting to surprise her.
"â how was your audition? â" She asked softly, excitement in her voice.
"â unfortunately, not very successful â" He lied, fiddling with his pen between his fingers, sitting at his desk, having just exchanged emails with the director of her theatre, with whom he had spoken personally a few days before about the terms of his future employment.
"â oh no â I'm very sorry â how are you feeling? â" She asked clearly worried, making him feel remorseful for a moment that she would believe he was suffering.
"â fine â I wasn't feeling that role â I'm lucky that I can be more choosy now â and how are you, little one? â" He hummed, writing back in an email that, as agreed, he would turn up in three days to sign the contract in their town.
His girlfriend grunted, clearly very excited by the news she had to share with him.
"â apparently they've hired a new actor in our theatre, but no one knows who it is â the director is very mysterious â" She said, her voice light and warm, filled with joy.
"â mmm â are you excited to have a new colleague on stage? â" He murmured as he sent the email, closing his laptop with a quiet click.
He heard her laugh at his words.
"â not in the way you suggest â" She said.
"â are you a good girl when I'm not around? â" He hummed, licking his lips involuntarily, feeling the pulsation in his trousers at his words.
"â well â"
"â are you touching yourself? â"
"â I â"
"â answer me â don't lie â"
She was silent for a long moment making him grin, biting his lower lip.
"â so you haven't been a good girl, or am I wrong? â" He sneered and heard her swallow hard.
"â you know what happens to bad girls, don't you? â" He asked, looking at the display of his screen, feeling his heart pounding fast.
"â but â" She finally mumbled out in embarrassment.
"â mmm â I'll see you soon â" He murmured and hung up, knowing that he had left her in complete shock for sure with her panties wet with her moisture.
The third thing he enjoyed most right after fucking her and talking to her was teasing her.
The next day the removal van took his things to the flat he had rented on short notice figuring they would find something together later, and after two days he drove to her town straight to the theatre building.
He went inside through the main entrance and ran quickly upstairs, praying not to meet her on the way, heading for her director's office. The man welcomed him warmly, saying that he was very happy that an actor with such charisma would be performing on his stage.
From the audience it was impossible to see whether his eye was real or fake, and his scar could be covered up with make-up if necessary.
His grandfather was furious, saying that he was giving up a world-class career for second-rate theatre, but he was relieved.
He didn't want to go through again what he was going through now â being torn apart by paparazzi and fans, being in the spotlight all the time.
He was tired of it and decided that, although it was a great adventure, like her he wanted to work in theatre, where artistic sense, monologues and dialogues counted more than nudity and sex.
It was what he wanted for both of them.
The director said it was time to introduce him to the whole crew.
"â I kept it a secret from everyone so that she wouldn't accidentally find out about anything â" The director laughed, a short, grey-haired man with a warm voice and a good-natured face, a visionary and a lover of the classic literature he was staging in his theatre.
"â I can see you with the eyes of my imagination in the roles of Hamlet and Ophelia â you've been wonderfully matched, I have to give you that â" He said softly, and he nodded, thinking in the back of his mind that indeed, this was a fantastic idea.
He felt excited like a little child and thought in the back of his mind that it was because of her, that she had changed him, making him fight for his fulfilment, his comfort, his joy.
"â my dears â" He called out, stepping onto the stage during their rehearsal for The Wedding of Wyspianski, his Rhaenys dressed in Slavic folk costume and a garland on her head turned towards them along with several other people.
Her eyes grew big in disbelief at the sight of him.
"â I would like to introduce you to your new colleague, who from now on will be playing on the stage of our theatre â I am very pleased â"
Everyone looked at her and she just stood there, looking at him and his grin full of satisfaction, breathing loudly through her mouth, her bright eyes hot with affection, disbelief and happiness that apparently shook her body.
Several people laughed as she threw herself into his arms and burst into a loud, panicked sob, whooping and panting with her own tears, his broad hands stroking her hair and back while his lips placed warm, reassuring kisses on her face hot with emotion.
"â shhh â it's okay, little one â"
She looked at him in disbelief, gushing with energy and joy as she introduced everyone to him one by one. He was relieved by the warm welcome given to him by the other actors, some of whom could have been his parents or even grandparents.
They seemed very close to each other and addressed each other warmly.
He was allowed to stay in rehearsal to see how they worked, so he watched as his girlfriend played a young bride, a village girl marrying a nobleman, during whose wedding many unexplained, mysterious events occur.
He smiled the whole time, watching her, satisfied that apart from one brief kiss there was no intimacy on stage between her and her partner, exactly as she had described it to him in their telephone conversations.
When it was all over she ran up to him in her folk costume, all hot, breathing loudly through her mouth, field flowers entwined together on her head.
"â what do you think?! â" She asked, and he hummed under his breath.
"â I really like your staging â I need to read this drama â you look amazing â" He hummed. He smiled under his breath as she sat on his lap â the seats in the audience were sunk in darkness so the people on stage couldn't see very well what they were doing.
"â I can't believe it â you've been lying all this time â" She muttered simultaneously embittered and delighted. He shook his head at her words.
"â I told you I had an audition â I just didn't say where â" He stated.
"â you said you did badly â" She said, wrinkling her eyebrows â she squealed as he caught her around the waist and pulled her closer, making her feel the hard bulge in his trousers.
"â that was my subjective assessment which was clearly not shared by your director â" He grinned, looking at her with his lips slightly parted. They both sighed as her hips rubbed against his pulsing erection, her gaze hot and misty.
"â my little girl can't stand it? â shall I take you to the toilet? â" He sneered and she swallowed hard, red with embarrassment and nodded.
Nothing more than panting and moans left their throats as they locked themselves in one of the cabins, their mouths immediately clinging to each other in greedy, loud, messy, sticky kisses. Their saliva clicked each time their lips pulled away from each other, his hands pulled up the material of her skirt and petticoat, pulling her panties off her thighs.
"â turn your back to me â" He commanded, and she did so without a word of objection, in a natural reflex leaning over and bucking her buttocks towards him, knowing what he wanted to do. His hands exposed her bare hips to him and what was between them, her opening glistening from her wetness, pink and swollen.
He hit her womanhood with a sharp, short slap and she jumped up with a quiet squeal and whimpered.
"â quiet â I warned you â I said: no touching â didn't I? â" He asked, gently rubbing and massaging the little spot that pulsed all over and leaked from his stroke, teasing the puffy bud between her plushy folds.
"â 'm sorry â I tried â" She confessed with embarrassment, panting heavily, rolling her hips to the rhythm of the strokes of his hand, trying to find a better source of squeeze.
"â the deal was different â" He said coolly, parting and rubbing her throbbing, dripping wet slit, her cheek pressed against the wall all red with pleasure, her lips parted in a helpless moan.
"â it's all mine â the sight of your fulfilment, your moisture, your little cunt is meant for my eyes â" He continued, as if he was explaining to her some essential, eternal principle, something obvious and logical that she could not change. She trembled as two of his fingers slipped between her slick, throbbing walls, stretching her core.
"â yes â I'm sorry â I missed you so much â" She mumbled, rocking her hips to the rhythm of the thrusts of his fingers, which teased and pressed the spongy bud between her fleshy folds deep inside her, from which a trickle of her moisture ran down her thigh.
"â mmm â I know, baby â I missed you too â" He confessed, recognising that although he wanted to, he couldn't last much longer. This sight and the euphoria that gripped his body made him let go of her as his hands slid down to the belt of his trousers, undoing it â her eyes opened in hope, her breath accelerated and uneven.
"â please â" She muttered.
"â shhh â" He hushed her, grabbing her by the waist, the other releasing his throbbing, fat erection, the tip of which he guided to her leaking, swollen slit.
"â thaat's it â there you go â fuck â" He exhaled, slowly forcing his way between her hot, fleshy walls, clenching greedily around his cock, sucking it inside her.
"â yes â yes, God, please, yes â" She mewled, immediately beginning to roll her hips to the rhythm of his impatient, fierce thrusts, fitting his pulsing erection inside her again and again, though they tried to restrain themselves, their panting and moans echoed around the restroom.
"â Rhaenys â" He muttered, sinking his face into her fragrant, hot neck, her scent wonderfully familiar, her insides moist and warm, welcoming him with ease. He thought about it, thrusting into her with slick, sharp stabs â how deep he was in her body, how much they united in this chaotic, viscous act of desire.
"â Aemond â o-oh, fuck, fuck, oh, God â" She cried out as he imposed a fast, aggressive pace on her, pounding into her with the deep, sharp pushes of his hips, opening her wide with his manhood throbbing painfully with longing.
"â shhh â shhh, little one â just a little more â yes, that's my girl â" He praised her, panting heavily as he felt her reach the edge, her breath heavy and loud.
Nothing more than moans and grunts left her lips, her little cunt gave him a few more thirsty, steady squeezes before she shuddered with sweet fulfilment, her wetness running down his thighs as with the last, loud slaps he reached his peak inside her with a sigh of delight.
Since she was taking the pills, he could fuck her whenever and wherever he wanted.
"â fuck â" He breathed out, embracing her tightly from behind, while still rocking his hips inside her and hugging her like a little, longing child.
He wished she would say that they were going to watch some new cartoon or comedy in the evening, that they were going to lie in their sweatpants, spread out comfortably on her bed, cuddled up, eating popcorn, kissing and caressing each other.
"â m-maybe â maybe let's go to my place â we'll watch something and relax â I can cook you something, but we need to do some shopping â" She whispered, stroking his arm, and he purred, delighted by her words.
"â yes â yes, that's what I need â"

For some reason, I can't get over how they've dumbed down characters like Lucifer and Alastor.
Let's start with Lucifer. He is turned into this bumbling idiot obsessed with ducks and is immediately introduced as a loving father. I was hoping he'd be close to Paranoid DJ's reiteration of Lucifer from "Changing Order." Intimidating, cunning, powerful and overprotective of his family (as many fans often portray him). In the official show, however, he acts more like a brother.
Alastor went from a powerful sinner-turned-overlord into a corny Saturday cartoon villain based on my own impression (also that "I'll ruin your f**** life" line was just cringe). He isn't scary anymore. If anything, he felt like that weird uncle who'd visit the hotel once a week.
They both felt like Disney villains who aren't allowed to straight-up be scary and intimidating and commit murder on-screen. They just remind me of King Magnifico from Wish and Callaghan from Big Hero 6, respectively. If I hadn't seen the pilot, I would not know they're supposed to be the most powerful characters in the series.
Also, I'm gonna go off-topic a bit but I don't like how people have to watch the pilot in order to know more about the characters and lore. Why can't Viv try to put all that into the show? At least add them as Easter eggs!
Originally, Lucifer was going to be an antagonist but either way I wouldâve love to see Lucifer be an intimidating and powerful ruler. Lucifer in the official series basically a soft core version of Stolas, minus fetishizing the lower class and abusing them. I really hope season 2 or at least future seasons touch upon Luciferâs depression.
Iâve unironically seen his depression milked to death in hot topic merchandise than in the actual show. âThat weird uncle whoâd visit the hotel once a week.â Thatâs hilarious, anyway Alastor is a loser who is desperate for power and is an attention whore.
When it comes to both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, you unironically have to do research for it in order to understand anything of this lame world works. Which is really annoying. She does add many stuff related to pilot as Easter eggs but you have to watch the pilot to understand the joke or reference.
For example: in episode 3, Angel Dust mentions sucking popsicles. In the pilot episode, he was sucking on a popsicle when entering the hotel.
In episode 6, in Vaggieâs 5 second backstory Charlie and Vaggie were wearing their pilot outfits.

Loved all your info about Empyrean with my last ask and left comments/reblog to it, and so sorry to spam your asks especially when youâre still working on this idea, but Iâm just curious and want to hear whatever ramblings youâd like to share!
You mentioned Heartslabyul being inspired by Europe with a dash of volcanos via borders and Iâm sure thereâs going to be lots of references to the regions of origin for the fairytales/Disney movies for each. But are there other places of the world youâre drawing inspiration from, whether in real life or from Genshin too?
Youâve given teasers about Leona and Idia, along with the original premise post for a few of the other archons, are there any other backstories youâve been developing for the archons or even the other characters?
Again, sorry to spam your asks but the more I look into Genshin, the more Iâm excited by Empyrean and wishing you all the best in writing~!
So if y'all recall, my biggest qualm with Genshin Impact was the amalgamation of cultures and cultures as costume. I am NOT trying to do that here. However, here's the problem when it comes to implementing the twst x genshin au: a majority of the stories are based in Europe or have European origins. So that means that most of the world, if we go by that logic, would be European, which doesn't sit right with me.
So for story's sake, I think I'll imply in the story that the seven nations are the ones of the known world, and the most recognized due to their archon's power. I've considered maybe changing the setting of a nation, but that doesn't exactly sit right with me either. So that's why I stated here and like I said, it will be implied in the story, that there is another part of the world not even really known. That being said, I probably won't lean too heavily into the cultural aspect of the story. However, there will be mentions here and there. Keep in mind though, I belong to none of these cultures, so I'll try to research to the best of my ability but it's also why, like I just said, I don't want to heavily into the cultural aspect of the story, because by no means do I want to get something wrong and offend anyone.
Here's my thought process for the inspiration of each. Keep in mind, this is still very much a work in progress.
Heartslabyul: British Isles
If you thought this was gonna be any other place, then what the hell are you thinking? Riddle definitely has a British accent. The tea, the tarts, all that stuff? Very British, if you ask me. Of course there's the fact that the original author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is from Britain.
Savanaclaw: East Africa
After bit of research, I found several things. Such as the fact that many of the names from The Lion King movie are based off the Swahili language. Zulu is apparently also spoken in the opening song, The Circle of Life. Additionally, the Pride Lands are said to be set in either Tanzania or Kenya.
Octavinelle: Scandinavia(?)
I know a lot of people like to debate where The Little Mermaid takes place, but I'm basing this on the origins of the author, as he is Danish. Also, if you recall, I believe there's in game dialogue where one of the Octavinelle characters mentions how ice often makes it difficult for them to return home, thus suggesting that their homeland is very cold. Originally I did want to add a tropical location, but this complicates things.
Scarabia: Arabian Peninsula(?)
Yes, yes, there's the fact that the movie of Aladdin takes inspiration from Indian and other Southeast Asian cultures, but from what I've seen, the story seems to mainly derive from Arabic cultures. Aside for the fact that the story of Aladdin is said to come from the Islamic Golden Age and is from a collection of Middle Eastern folktales. If you research names like Kalim or Jamil, they do have Arabic origins.
Pomefiore: Central/Eastern Europe(?)
We all know the Brothers Grimm, yes? Authors of many fairytales, one of which being Snow White. Well, they're German. And, I mean, the archon is going to be Vil SCHOENHEIT, if that's not German sounding last name, then I dunno what is. Why did I include Eastern Europe? Because I personally HC a lot of the characters with accents and the accent I imagine Epel with is some type of Slavic. God, I love creative freedom.
Ignihyde: Greece
This one isn't even a debate. I don't gotta say why.
Diasomnia: Western Europe(?)
It is said that one of the earliest records of Sleeping Beauty was in a French book. If we look at some of the inspiration from the movie, it's said to take place in a French medieval kingdom. So yeah, it just made sense in my mind.

So a lot of people are confused as to how Epic Mickey Rebrushed meaning Disney probably isn't getting profits works, so let me explain real quick:
What's the Sitch?
If you go to the Steam Page, Disney is not publishing EM Rebrushed themselves like they did with the original EM games, another company ,THQ Nordic, whom Disney does not own is.
This likely means they sold the licensing rights to that company rather than accepting profit cuts.
How this works
Copyright holders often do this if they think the product would make less profits than what they sold the licensing rights for. For example, this happened with the author of the Witcher books, who thought the games would flop and sold the licensing rights instead of accepting a percentage of the profits. He later acted like the victim when the games actually ended up being wildly successful. This also happened to the writer of the American Pokemon Theme Song, who didn't know the Pokemon franchise was going to go on for decades and remain popular, though he was more chill about it and worked something out.
Basically, Disney likely had so little faith in the game, they chose to sell instead of accept profits, which would mean whether you buy or pirate the game wouldn't affect them, since they would have already gotten the agreed upon amount, and they'd probably piss themselves if the profits Purple Lamp gets is more than what they sold it for.
Would they actually do that?
For anyone who questions if Disney would really be dumb enough to do this, REMEMBER THIS IS THE COMPANY WHO:
SHUT DOWN AND ENTIRE VIDEO GAME DEVELOPMENT COMPANY JUST BECAUSE EPIC MICKEY 2 DIDN'T MAKE AS MUCH MONEY AS EPIC MICKEY 1
THOUGHT PEOPLE WOULD ABANDON CONSOLE GAMING IN FAVOR OF MOBILE GAMING
THOUGHT KINGDOM HEARTS COULDN'T POSSIBLY HAVE SEQUELS
HAD A CEO WHO THOUGHT ADULTS DON'T ENJOY CARTOONS
AND THE MOST RECENT BLUNDER OF ALL, THOUGHT DISNEY FANS WOULD PREFER A LUMA KNOCKOFF OVER STARBOY IN WISH, BECAUSE THEY WANTED A MARKETABLE PLUSHIE
Yeah, I think they're that dumb.
Bottom Line
For those participating in the Disney boycott, it is probably safe to get the game, and will not be a breach of your boycott. Buying the game would instead show support to those who actually care about the game while not benefitting the company that abandoned it.
That being said, this is not guaranteed to be completely correct. Keep an eye on things as it develops, and make your own decisions on the matter.

Crying Cryptids & Canoodling Cupids
Pairing: Javi GutiĂŠrrez x Plus Size F!Reader
Prompt: Javi G + âWhat cryptid are you trying to be, Mothmanâs cousin?âÂ
Summary: Javi is having a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day. Scratch that. He was having a terrible week, a horrible month, a no-good year, and just, a general, very bad time. He was convinced this movie was going to end his filmmaking career. Nobody will ever want to see any of his work again. It was shit. And there was nothing he could do about it. And he might have just made the sweetest woman cryâ someone he is so sure is his soulmate.Â
Warnings: Fatphobia, no smut for you nasties⌠okay maybe just a little hint because I couldn't resist, just a mention of it though.Â
A/N: This is for the PPCUVDAY event organised by @peepawispunk Is it Valentineâs Day? No. Is it even February yet? No. But I spun the wheel and got a prompt and a fic manifested. So we all get thisâ as a little treat. It is a classic Soulmate AU, where the first words your soulmate will say to you appear tattooed on your body.
dividers by @saradika-graphics
You can also read this fic on ao3 <3
Javi had always been quick to temper. He had just learned to never express it, because that was an invitation for being hitâ or worse with Lucas. But now he wanted to throw a veritable tantrumâ fuck the consequences.Â
The headset around his neck was strangling him, the usual soft feel and comforting weight of it was replaced by a crawling sensation that made him want to jump out of his skin. He wanted to tear the script resting on his thigh into tiny, minuscule, little pieces and shower it into the airâ the corner of the paper was scratching at the exposed skin of his knee, yet another irritant that was making his leg restlessly jump. He needed to jump off a cliff and into a cool body of water. Step away, reset.Â
Too bad none of them would be getting that. This was supposed to be a movie. He was supposed to be a director. But all this was shaping up to be was a circus and he wasnât even the ringmaster, he was a sad little monkey walking on stilts and jumping through hoops. Even worse, he was letting all the other sad little monkeys who had faith in him down.
It was his first time trying to make a horror movieâ an intense, realistic, gritty psychological horror that offered a poignant insight into both the good and the evil in the nature of mankind. The script had been good. Lucien and Dieter were giving some of the most honest and amazing performances of their careers setting them both up for the greatest comeback after their stint in rehab. The crew was good, he had worked with these people before.Â
But then the producers started cutting costs and the real horror show had begun. They had terrorised the crewâ changed the lighting, equipment, locations, costumes until it looked more like Cliff Beasts 7: Fellowship of the Furiousâ Journey to a Stranger Tide or something. They had even shooed in a heroine who wasnât even in the script, naturally, the script had to be rewritten. He just wished she could actâŚ
He had wrapped up filming yesterday after more than twenty takes on one of her simple scenes, making do with the shot of her actually remembering her lines even though they were delivered like she was acting on a Disney sitcom. Javi wished he could wrap up today as well, they were all exhausted from several demanding scenes and it wasnât shaping up to be any better for her but they were running so behind schedule. Moreover, the costume and make-up department had worked so hard to put her in the monster get-up, they owed it to the crew to at least try. The original script didnât even have a monster.Â
She did look monstrous but for all the wrong reasons. She looked huge, hulking at a little over seven feet, covered in bronze armourâ why did they have to add big boobs to the metal? There were two giant wings behind her, confusingly made of feathers instead of metal like the rest of her costume. They had given her two fuzzy antennas that reminded him of oversized spruce twigs or moths. The armour was far too big for her he thought with a wince; sure the monster was supposed to represent corporate greed but making it fat was just wrong.Â
The most placid, emotionless garbled noises rang out of the giant tin can; Javi tried to unclench his jaw, hiding his expression behind a tight fist. His chest racked with effort to draw in a large breath. Thatâs it, heâs done.
âCUT!!â He roared. The script fell off his lap as he stood from his chair. Javi could feel the anger flooding over the dam he had built; he could feel it prickle in his throat like dry smoke, taste its bitterness on his tongue.Â
âWHAT CRYPTID ARE YOU TRYING TO BE, MOTHMANâS COUSIN? Because woooow, that was really fucking pathetic.â He seethed as he maintained eye contact with the two large red bulbs for eyes on her helmet.Â
Javi whirled around to face the freelancer from the costume department before the actress could fight him, âAnd WHY IS SHE SO FUCKING BIG?â
There was a collective, shocked gasp on set as everyone stared at him in abject horror. Javi was panting now, still overwhelmed with rage while Dieter scowled at him a dark, menacing look on his face. Â
âDudeââ But Dieter was interrupted by a dog. A squeaking, whimpering dog. Oh my god, there was a chihuahua in the tin can. For a horribly brief moment, he wondered if he would find multiple dogs stacked together under that armour, it would certainly explain the bad acting. Everyone quietly stood around as the crying continued in quiet keens and puppyish whines.Â
âHey, donât cryââ Dieter cooed at her. Since when was he so nice to her?Â
His giant cryptid lifted the visor of her helmet, red bulb eyes, moth antenna and all. Javi peered up into the sweetest face that certainly did not belong to the lead of his movie. Fuck. Her face was covered in a glistening sheen of sweat and tears; she looked down at him with glassy eyes and brows furrowed with hurt. She made a strange eep sound as she tried to hold back more of her sobsâ it drew his attention to the most kissably pouty lips. They wobbled from the emotional strain. Javi felt like a despicable cur.Â
âYouâre the worst.â She whispered. Her voice choked with tears. And he felt his heart break. He hadnât meant to hurt her, he didnât even know who she was.
The pretty cryptid clunked out of there, her feathery wing slapping him across the faceâ as he deserved. Javi felt the embarrassment curl in his stomach for her, poor girl deserved a more graceful exit but instead, the costume sounded like pots and pans clanging around in the utensil cabinet while she fruitlessly tried to manoeuvre around the set pieces; the noise grated on his ears and made his teeth itch. The shrill, brassy clashing sound of metals abruptly turned into a loud thunk and a crash as she fell just a few steps away from the exit. A mean, taunting little giggle rang from some corner breaking everyone out of their reverie.Â
Lucien reaches her first, gently helping her to sit while the assistant he had just screamed at tried to remove the stilts from under her feet. Javi moves to rush forward, she must have hurt herself in the fall.Â
But Dieter held him back, âGive it a moment, youâll only upset her more.âÂ
She did seem pretty upset, her face had darkened but her eyes were impassive she barely responded to Lucien as he soothingly comforted her. The sight of her blank look was tugging at his heart, he just wanted to cradle her face in his hands, wipe her tears and smooth away the hurt. He settled for doing the next best thing and gave a terse command to finish up for the day.Â
Javi noticed her painful grimace as Lucien helped her to stand, making a mental note to make sure she saw a doctor; he would pay any of the medical bills. For now, he helplessly watched, a strange caustic feeling blistering under his skinâ it wasnât anger, not quite. But he disliked the way his arm wrapped around her waist, or how her arm was seeking support on his shoulder as she stumbled farther away from him. Javi thought De Leon was being a bit pretentious.
Oh fuck, youâre the worst.Â
You loved cryptids. Halloween was your favourite time of the year; every year since you were fourteen you had dressed up as various cryptids. Your interest had spiralled from just Halloween costumes to owning a shelf full of books about cryptids, a wall covered in newspaper clippings of cryptid sightings and stories; your family and friends would gift you cryptid clothing and accessories on Christmasâ your favourite being the bright blue Nessie ladle in your kitchen drawer and a Kraken tentacle ring which was always wrapped around your finger. You even owned several monster sex toys; you had your favourites there tooâ a silicone tentacles dildo with amazing bumps and suction cups along its length, and a neon green and purple vibrating monster cock with the most delicious ridges. Â
It had all started with a small birthmark just to the side of your calf muscles, which spread across your skin as you grew up forming the first sentence your soulmate would say to you. What cryptid are you trying to be, Mothmanâs cousin?  Â
You had imagined so many ways your soulmate would say that to you; maybe it would be a pretty girl striking up a conversation at the local cosplay event, or perhaps a cute guy flirting at a Halloween party, or someone sweet and sly who would playfully tease you about your outfit of choice.Â
Most people do not end up finding their soulmates, but you were so convinced you would find yours one day. Because your line was so detailed, while others had a variation of hi, hello, hey, good morningâ something so mundane their soulmate could be anybody. There were even shows that helped people with commonplace soulmate tattoos find their life partnerâ the current contestant on The Bachelorâs Soulmate was a pilot whose tattoo read, âHey, what can I get started for you today?âÂ
People with tattoos of greetings could never be sure they ended up with their true soulmate youâd watched a TLC show about them. And now, more than ever, you wished you had one of those boring soulmate tattoos. Never in your life had you imagined the words from your tattoo would be shouted at you, followed by being called pathetic and then heâd called you fatâ fucking huge. You burst into more tears at the thought, muffling your sobs against your fingers.Â
Lucien wiped your tears again, gently dabbing a tissue to your cheeks. You wished he wouldnât hover, you just wanted to be left alone. You know he is trying to be kindâ mostly out of guilt your mind whispered to you. Which wasnât true⌠even if it was, it didnât matter. He hadnât always been kind, you had worked with him when he was still struggling with his drinking issue. He was mean and had almost cost you your job once. He was nicer now that he was sober, or at least more aware of the people around him. You were happy for him.
âYou know he didnât mean it that wayâŚâ He murmured.Â
It didnât matter whether he meant it or not. You had decided you didnât want him. Someone not being with their soulmates was unheard of, because why would anybody reject a person that was made, curated, for you by the universe. But the truth was Javi GutiĂŠrrez did not want youâ not really. He thought you were fat and pathetic.Â
Your heart still clenched every time you thought about his words. And even if he was mysteriously accepting about him being your soulmate, and instantly fell in love with you because you were perfect for him or he loved your super cool personality, you would always know, in the back of your mind, that he hadnât wanted you. In the quietest, most intimate moments with him, a mean little voice would be the loudest and it would always remind you that you were just thrust upon him by the universe. But had the choice been his, it wouldnât be you.
This was Hollywood, most of the time it didnât matter how nice and sweet you were, men would always go for the prettiest, sexiest womanâ then too nobody over a size 6 and very rarely somebody who was a size 8 but only if they liked curves. You had met Javiâs ex-girlfriend Gabriela who works for a different production company, she was not only tall and gorgeous but also very very sweet and sassy. She was perfect.Â
You were just some low-level production assistant, running errands, printing scripts, fetching coffees and meals, cleaning up the set and trailers, chauffeuring actors to and from the set. Often it was the assistant directors or the other team leaders passing forward instructions. Even when Javi had introduced himself to the crew, you had made yourself scarce because the sight of him had made you so flustered and tongue-tiedâ you just hadnât wanted to make a fool of yourself.
He was far too beautifulâ all sun-kissed skin and soft curls. Every time you delivered something to him, you would quickly scurry away before he even had the chance to thank you because of how nervous he made you. You didnât think you would last if he looked at you with those puppy eyes and spoke to you with that accented voice. He was endlessly kind and polite with everyone on set. You would be an idiot to not want him.Â
So maybe, just maybe, he wasnât your soulmate at all. That would make the most sense. You tried to think of the first thing you had ever said to him, your mind sadly pulling a blank. Perhaps, his soulmate tattoo read something you had never said. And there was someone else out there for you who was waiting to ask you what type of cryptid you were trying to be. Your heart lurched at the thought of him not being yoursâ the idea that he could be was so irresistible that it physically hurt to believe otherwise.  Â
A cough disrupted the air, you looked up to see Javi standing by the entrance of the trailer giving you a shy, toothy smile. You instinctively smiled back at him, too distracted by how violently your heart was flutteringlyâ you felt queasy like you were hanging onto that single lock of hair curling over his forehead as it swung with the evening air. So, you didnât notice the two men share a charged look and tense smile before Lucien softly patted your head and made his way out.
Javi had the warmest, twinkling brown eyes, sweet and innocent. You had dreamed about how that plush bottom lip would feel between yours, on your skin, on your pussy.Â
Stop it, you stupid slut.Â
He was probably here to scold you for being in front of the camera and taking the heroineâs place. But it was not your fault! She had begged you to do it, said it wasnât that big of a deal since they didnât need to see her face in the scene and they could voice over her lines post-productionâ itâs just monster noises and screeching anyway.Â
Initially, you hadnât wanted to do it because you didnât trust her intentions but she had it cleared with the producers as well. They said you would be just like a stand-in. Then you had seen the silly monster costume, it was so badâ but it had the Mothman eyes and antenna. And you couldnât resist because of the soulmate tattoo. You had thought, what if this was how you found your soulmate?
âHey, are you okay?â His teeth were so straight, smile so adorableâ it made his eyes squint, one closing just slightly more than the other in a way that made your stomach contract. And that nose⌠the bold slope of it was downright salacious.Â
UGH, shut up, donât be a whore. Have some self-respect. He doesnât want you. He doesnât want you. He doesnât want you. Fat and Pathetic. Fat and Pathetic.Â
âYeah, Iâm okayâŚâ You furtively glanced around the trailer, hoping that not looking at him would make you feel less overwhelmed.Â
âThatâs good, I think Iâm your soulmate.â He stated in a calm voice followed by a warm, awkward chuckle. But his hands were trembling, and he rubbed them along his thighs.
âUm, no. Youâre not.â You croaked, refusing to meet his eyes as you lied to him.Â
âNo, let me show you.â He pulled off his shirt revealing broad, tanned shoulders. You wanted to lick the freckles that dusted over his skin there, kiss the ones that dotted his neck.Â
He lifted his hand straight up and showed you a string of letters that ran up his underarm. You couldnât make sense of them at first, they looked like keyboard smash starting from his forearm; some of them were capitalised, some letters lowercase, a few of them had accents on them and some of them were even ligatures.Â
Then he started pronouncing them in a strange whimpering, squeaking voice. And you wanted to scream. Or laugh. Was he trying to imitate your crying? You knew you werenât a pretty crier but he made you sound almost⌠endearing. Especially when he tentatively looked at you with those aggrieved eyes of a kicked puppy. He whispered the last of the words as the letters disappeared into his armpitâ youâre the worst.
You tried not to visibly flinch. Were those really your first words to him? How horrible to carry those words on your body for your whole life. He looked so guilty and ashamed, lines formed between his brows and the creases in his forehead deepened in distress.Â
âIâm sorry⌠I didnât mean to say those awful words to you.â His gaze on you was steady and sincere, begging you to believe him.Â
You swallowed, feeling an anxious tightness in your chest. You surged through before you could change your mind.Â
âSorry, but I donât think youâre my soulmate.â You insisted, looking down at his knees, they were so close to yours. He was sitting in the seat facing you, and suddenly the trailer seemed much smaller. You could smell himâ open oceans, sweet citrus, hints of something minty and herby lavender.Â
âOh, what does your tattoo say? Can I see it?â The disappointment in his voice nestled just under your ribs, painfully digging into your heart.Â
âIt says hello.â You lied.Â
âThatâs great! I mustâve said hello to you.â He perked up at the possibility. Eyes radiant with joy again. He hadnât said hello, but that wasnât his fault. It was ironic but you had mastered the art of being invisibleâ despite your size.
âNo, you didnât⌠You said Hi.â At least, he would have if you hadnât evaded him at all times, mooning over him from afar.
âNoooo⌠I mustâve said helloâ I mean hi, hey, hello. So hard to remember, I said hello. Iâm sure.â He argued. You tried not to cry.Â
You werenât so insecure. Sure, being the weird chubby kid who liked cryptids wasnât easy. But you had grown upâ learned to love your body. Today just⌠wasnât a good day. You felt raw, vulnerable and humiliated. Youâd taken off the costume but couldnât forget how unflattering it had made you feel, and that mean little giggle was still ringing in your ears. Your mind was also regurgitating his harsh words. Â
She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. And she insisted she wasnât his soulmate.
Javi couldnât take his eyes off her face. Well, he could, but then he would be looking at the way her t-shirt stretched over those lovely boobs, or the cinch of her waist before her form generously curved into the most delectable hipsâ he could almost picture the way his fingertips would disappear in her flesh if he gripped her. Shut up, this is so wildly inappropriate.
He balled his shirt on his lap to hide the hard-on he was sporting in his shorts, sitting in only his white, sleeveless undershirt. His heart was racing, and he could feel the heat climbing up the back of his neck. He had been so convinced she was his soulmate. He still felt like she was lying to him, but why? Did she not want him?Â
It would be understandable, not a lot of people wanted him. He was just a geeky film nerd who talked about movies until everyone around him was bored and exasperated. He wasnât strong, or cool, or dashing. Sure, a lot of people flirted with him now but he wouldnât delude himself into thinking they wanted anything more than his money. He was the kind of guy who took years to stand up to his cousin. At most, he was cute. But why would this goddess want him when she could have Lucien De Leon.Â
Not even Gabriela had wanted him and they had known each other since they were kids. They both had realised very quickly that while they cared for each other, their relationship had been based on loneliness and scarcity. He had liked her because she was the only one on the compound who had been genuinely nice to himâ she was his only friend. And she had liked him because he was the only decent, non-violent man in the international criminal organisation.Â
They had long broken up when Gabriela had found her soulmate. He wished them all the happiness in the world, she deserved it. Because he would have never survived without herâ not even in Hollywood. She had been the one dealing with the production companies for him. Fuck, and now he had to deal with one on his own.
Javi looked at the woman before him, she seemed so lovely and kind. He wanted her to be his soulmate. For years, he had been terrified his soulmate would be someone Lucas had kidnapped, hurt or harmed. He was always afraid he wouldnât be able to save themâ why else would someone call him the worst?
Well, it had finally happened, out of his own stupidity too. He hadnât even known they were using one of the production assistants as a stand-in. The producers had conveniently left him out of the loop for a lot of things. Dieter had informed him how his lead actress was the daughter of the man who owned their production company; sheâd joined the movie for a chance with Lucien. And had planned this whole fiasco as a horrible prank when she had lost his attention to this enticing woman in front of him. Javi briefly wondered if he should tell her that the lead actress was trying to bully her.Â
He watched her squirm in her seat, rearranging her legs so her knees pressed together and turned slightly away from his. He tried very hard not to think about the way her thighs flattened and spread on the seat under her, because then his mind would provide him with the lewd images of the same thighs framing his face, their weight on his shoulder, his teeth sinking into the soft insideâ marking her, tasting her.
She folded her arms over her stomach, her hand comfortingly stroking her upper arm. Was she cold? Because Javi was feeling overheated. He subconsciously wiped his temple, finding a light coating of sweat there. He couldnât see the soft swell of her belly anymore, which meant he really shouldnât be thinking about pressing his fingers into her warm skin there and pinching, twisting the flesh to watch it mould around his unruly touchâ her waist would roll and twist to escape him, she would probably softly gasp, her eyes wide and aggrieved.Â
She awkwardly cleared her throat, and it snapped his attention to her face. Her lips were pursed as she glanced around the trailer. He really hoped she hadnât noticed him staring at her like a creep.Â
âThatâs a nice T-shirtââhe looked down at her top, relieved that it was indeed a T-shirtââLoveland Frogman? Itâs almost Valentineâs Day, isnât it?â There, he was just looking at her top and totally not having any inappropriate thoughts about her body. But he loved the way âLovelandâ stretched over those tits. Fuck.
The T-shirt fit snugly over her sweetly rounded shoulders. Javi felt his teeth itch with the desire to bite down on them. She watched him, confused and bewildered at the abrupt change in topic, before glancing down at her T-shirt as if she hadnât realised what she was wearing.Â
âOh, um, Loveland is a place. Itâs in Ohio, Frogman is their local cryptid. But turned out it was just a giant three-foot-something iguana. I got the shirt when I watched a musical about it. Thereâs also a found footage horror movie about it with this absolutely bonkers endingâ Sorry, Iâm ramblingâ anyways, are you going to fire me?âÂ
âWhat? No. No. Of course not.â She had the most charming twinkle in her eyes. He would set fire to the set before firing her.Â
âToday was entirely my faultââHe felt shame coat his throat, and his next words came subdued and chokedââIâm a shit directorââÂ
âNo, youâre not. You are an amazing director. You have a very clear vision for the film, and youâre able to communicate and explain that vision. You wonât believe how many directors just canât explain what they want. You give the actors enough creative license to explore their characters instead of demanding they do as you tell them to. You respect the crew and everyoneâs time, so many directors just treat us like weâre servants to be taken for granted. Youâre passionate about your work. Youâre a film lover, and you enjoy watching other peopleâs work. I love that you are still exploring your own visual and story-telling style. I mean, it is easy to tell where you get your inspirations but you still make it so intrinsically yoursââÂ
Her lips were sweet and warm. Javi hadnât been able to hold himself back and swooped over to kiss her. She was tense for a moment before her lips softened and melted against his. He kissed her slowly at first, selfishly, it wasnât because he wanted to put her at ease or make her comfortable. He was in disbelief that he was kissing her or that she was letting him in the first place.
She nibbled on his lower lip, and Javi felt himself whimper into her mouth. He cradled her face, pushing closer to her as he licked the corner seam where her lips connected. He was addicted to the divot of her cupidâs bow, the swoop of her lower lip, and the maddening way she was tracing the shape of his lips.Â
âYou donât want this.â She whispered against his lips. And Javi simply angled her face again before slotting his lips over hers once more. She moaned against him, and he heard a soft, answering groan rise from his chest as he kissed deeper into her, exploring the curve of her palate, the gummy lining of her mouth, and the fascinating way the top of her tongue was different in texture to the side of it. He couldnât remember wanting anything more.
He was unwilling to part with her even with their mutual need for air, Javi continued kissing her, worshipping just her lips, showering them with tender pecks and kisses. He felt her warm breath fan across his cheek, and the wild beating of her pulse under his hand. He had never been one for overly sweet things, but he could taste something sugary on herâ maybe sheâd had some chocolate, or honey, or maybe a candy. Whatever it was, he couldnât get enough of it, he was hankering for more. Â
His lips slipped from hers as they both panted for breath, pressing affectionate kisses to the side of her lips, her cheek, her jaw and another just under it. He noticed her take a deep shuddering breath, eyes still closed as he touched his forehead to hers, noses grazing each other. She smelled of soap, freshly laundered clothes, and something uniquely her.
Her eyes fluttered open, and he felt his breath hitch; they were a world unto themselves. He memorised the pattern of her irises, the variation in their colour; he admired the fuzzy line of her pupils, the curve of her eye line and the length of her lashes. She looked so adorably befuddled, her eyes wet and glazed overâ he could almost see himself reflected in them. Javi caressed the apple of her cheek with his thumb.
âWe should take you to the doctorâsâŚâÂ
âHuh?â Javi chuckled at her confused state.
âFor your leg, I noticed you hurt yourself when you fell.â He reminded her.Â
âOh, no, Iâm fine. It doesnât hurt that much, and I took a shower so I ran some warm water over it and it feels better already.â She was gripping onto the fabric of her skirt; she still looked a little uncertain, as if searching for something in his eyes. He gave a wide beam, but her smile was shy and tentative. Wait.
âYou showered in Lucienâs trailer?â He didnât mean for it to, but the question came out a bit accusing. It wasnât his business where she showered. Except that he had just kissed her, and he wanted to do more. Did she want more as well?
âWell, yeah, he offered. And there isnât a shower in the employee tent so I took him up on the offer. The armour made me so sweaty and stickyâ wait⌠Why did you ask it like that?â
âNo reason.â Except for the fact that she was exactly the type of pretty thing Lucien would like to sink his claws intoâ his other parts too for that matter. He felt an uncharacteristic sting spread through the walls of his heart like his own blood was astringent. He was jealous.
âAre you and himâŚâ
âNo, God, no. Weâre notââ
âSo, do you want to go on a date with me?â
She stared at him for several long moments, looking like a deer caught in headlights and her mouth agape. Silence stretched between themâ an awkward, flustered kind. Her eyes quivered, as if she might cry. And Javi wanted to stuff the words back into his mouth. He was so stupid.Â
She had kissed him back, but otherwise, she had not touched him at all. He was the director of the movie, her boss. She probably felt like she had to accept his advances. He leaned as far away from her as possible, too disgusted with himself to notice the way her face fell in disappointment and tears brimmed her eyes.
âIâm so sorry, you donât need to feelââÂ
âWhy even kiss me if youâre not attracted to me? Was it some kind of a prank?â Her voice was pained, she sniffled. His heart broke at the way she was looking at himâ like he had broken her heart.     Â
âI am attracted to you⌠thatâs why Iâm asking you out.â
âIâm not your soulmate. You called me fat and pathetic!â She raised her voice in indignation.Â
âI did not!â Javi hotly defended himself. They were both riled up now. He would never.Â
âYes, you did. You called me fucking huge.â Her words knocked the wind out of his sails. She scowled at him with angry, resentful eyes. He thought back to his outburst on set, grimacing as he recollected his words.Â
âI meant that you were almost eight feet tall. And the armour was purposely made too big and unflattering, it just wasnât right for a monster that represents corporate greed.â
âWell, you still called me patheticââ
âI thought you were the lead actress and those were some of the most lacklustre, pitiful monster noises in the history of cinemaââ
âIt wasnât my fault they said they would voice over it and I should be quieter.âÂ
They both took several large breaths before Javi slipped down his seat and knelt at her feet, gently prying her skirt from her fists and taking her hands in his.Â
âIâm sorry. I was an idiot.â He watched the tension fall from her shoulders and gave a gentle squeeze to her hands. She huffed a small, conceding little laugh.Â
âItâs okay.âÂ
âWill you at least let me take a look at your leg?â He inquired.
Javi felt relieved to see a smile grace her features again, the light in her eyes made him feel warm. And he gingerly clasped her ankle in his hand as soon as she had nodded his permission.Â
âTell me if it hurts,â He said as he pressed and massaged around her ankles first and then her feet, twisting it one way and then anotherâ noticing the wince on her face even when she didnât verbalise her pain. Finally, he moved up her leg, pressing to check for any tenderness or pain. He gently eased her socks down her calf to check for any swelling or bruises.Â
And right there, wrapping around her calf, was her soulmate tattoo. His fingers twitched over the words before he slowly traced them, gently twisting her leg to catch the words as they rolled around the backâ not that he needed to see what they said.Â
What cryptid are you trying to be, Mothmanâs cousin?
Javi gasped as the realisation settled in. He snapped his head up to look at her. And she nodded, confirming what he hadnât dared ask. His vision was blurry with tears as joy and elation coursed through his body, he felt a laugh bubble up his chest. Excitement zinged across his nerves. His soulmate!
âWhy wouldnât you tell me?â He demanded, no real rancour or admonishment in his voice as he pulled his soulmate into a crushing hug. He marvelled at the press of her body against his; his hands stroked along the contours of her body, pressing her closer to him. She was his soulmate.
âI thought you didnât want meâŚâ She mumbled so softly that he barely heard her.Â
Javi relinquished his hold on her to grasp her face again, cradling her jaw and wiping her stray tears, âI would always want you. I wanted you even when you were a giant cryptid in stupid bronze armour and feather wings.âÂ
âNo, you didnât, sillyâŚâ She giggled as she teasingly rolled her eyes at him. Javi reverently traced the tattoo on her leg again.Â
âIâm sorryâŚâ He mumbled, giving her a dimpled, mischievous smile before guiding the sole of her foot to press against the hardened cock he had been trying to hide, âIâve been trying to cover this up as soon as Iâd come in.âÂ
She adoringly tucked a few of his curls behind his ears, her fingers brushing over his stubble. She pinched his chin in her palm, pulling his jaw so he looked up at her. Javi felt his heart race, heat pooling in his belly, and more blood rushed lower to his cock where the heel of her foot was dizzyingly stroking over it. She insistently pressed her toes to his balls. He gulped despite his dry mouth.
Her thumb caressed and wiped at his lower lip, testing the softness of it before she arched a brow in challenge. Her eyes twinkled with mischief and lust.Â
âKiss me to make up for it?â Javi went enthusiastically into the arms of his lover. What followed the desperate kisses and the fervent touches was an intimate introduction of bodies and a reacquaintance of severed souls.Â
And if Lucien accidentally caught a glimpse of their sweet production assistant with her T-shirt stretching under her arms and bunched into her mouth to expose her swaying tits, a foot propped up on his vanity, head lolling back and watching her pretty pussy obediently take the directorâs cock in the mirror then⌠no, he didnât.
He knew better than to mess with the PAs on set if he wanted to enjoy the simple joys of life like a clean trailer, a hot coffee just the way he liked it and warm meals on time. It was a lesson he had learned the hard way.Â

Happy with the staff content this year but am I the only one who is disappointed with the PV we got? It's basically a slideshow of art we've already seen, major downgrade from the year 1 PV that had literally all the events. There was a drop in quality of the anniversary PVs over the years and it really shows this year. Sorry if you find this too negative I don't mean to hate I just wish Twst would do better for it's ANNIVERSARY.
[For everyone's reference, here are the anniversary PVs in order of release: 2021 / 2022 / 2023 / 2024]
Mmm, now that you mention it, I noticed this trend with the Halloween PVs đ¤ For year 1, there was a video that showed all members of the NRC casy, even those that did not receive cards at that time. There were then several short variants of the PV released for year 2/Endless Halloween Night (part 1 / part 2 / part 3 / part 4). Altogether, they feature all of the characters, including the students from year 1 but heavily shadowed and with glowing eyes to indicate ghostly possession. Even Glorious Masquerade features all of the students that get new cards for the event plus Rollo, although there are notably more still shots here. The Stage in Playful Land CM, by comparison, is significantly shorter and only shows us the three SSRs (Ace, Ortho, and Kalim) as well as the two new characters (Fellow and Gidel).
As this anon has said, the anniversary PVs have changed a lot over time too. The first one was the most animated and integrated several event outfits. The second one was also animated a fair amount, but you can tell corners were cut in some places where they transition to photographs/still images. This alone works thematically given that the player is a photographer, but you can still catch dips in quality when it comes to the art style. I remember finding Deuce running and the Kalim + Silver flying scene odd, as well as Jade and Trein's faces strange in general. Then the third PV rolls around and it only features the third years; the animation also seems to be much more sluggish (although this could be a stylistic choice; not sure). A friend actually recently pointed out to me that Lilia's pose looks like he was pulled straight from other assets; his artwork in the animation is almost the exact same as his smiling expression in the game. This year's is the most different (+ most static) and, like year 3's PV, only provides "new" content for a select few characters (the dorm leaders). They also reuse pre-existing illustrations already found in the game that don't seem to be picked for any particular reason (like, there are random Master Chef/Culinary Crucibles groovies in there). This direction, I'm guessing, is less costly and more efficient than making an entirely original animation, which is what was done in previous years. (Not that Disney or Aniplex is hurting for money to fund this, lol) Would I have preferred another PV in the style of year 1's? Yeah, for sure. I want to see other events and their outfits animated! Was what we got this year bad? Not necessarily; I think the production and editing was very technically impressive, but I'm still sad we didn't get anything substantially "new" to chew on (as someone who isn't a fan of most third years or the dorm leaders). Maybe it's just something we perceive as a deficit only because year 1 set the bar so high. It is what it is; whoever was in charge of the anniversary PV was probably doing the best they could with whatever budget they were given đ Let's hope that next year's will be a return to form, or that at least the money/effort is being redirected to other bigger projects (maybe the anime?).

â¨đş Author Ask Tag đşâ¨
Thank you so much for tagging me for this, @aalinaaaaaa and here @sharkblizzardblogs ! I will also leave this +open for anyone else who wishes to answer (if they want) and may come across this on their feed đâ¨
Iâve espoused lots of juicy information from my two published works Peter Hart and Your Wish Is My Command, so now itâs time to focus a little more on my current WIP: In The Realm of Giants đşâ¨
1. What is the main lesson of your story? Why did you choose it?
Excellent question! There are a few lessons in ITROG that are highlighted throughout the book:
The lengths family will go to protect each other. A huge theme is family bonds, and how the love and support of the village reflects the Vikingâs desire to protect their people.
Taking risks to develop characters and learn lessons. Some of those risks are learned the hard wayâŚfor instance, getting abducted by a giant because Tyr foolishly believed if he could get away with stealing once, he would smugly and spitefully do it again. However, if not for the risks and consequences of taking said risks, he would have never explored the area outside of his home and experience the adventure. Equally so, his father wouldnât have been able to see his son shine on his own without feeling the need to always guard him.
Forgiveness. Not only for Stefan and Tyr or Tyr and Gustav, but also Stefan and Gustav. Learning to forgive mistakes of their ancestors, to see everyoneâs different perspectives on the same conflicts, and to achieve mutual understandings.
All of these lessons are very comparable to everyone in one way or another, applied to a more high-fantasy scene to give a sense of excitement and relatability đâ¨
2. What did you use as inspiration for your worldbuilding?
Norse Mythology, especially centered around JĂśtunheimr and Yggdrasil. I also sprinkled in some Disney-esque family values and dynamics. â¨
3. What is your MC trying to achieve, and what are you, the writer, trying to achieve with them? Do you want to inspire others, teach forgiveness or help the reader grow as a person?
Tyrellâs objective changes throughout the novel. A consistent goal is for him to achieve independence in a way that still serves his viking clanâthe people he loves. However, his goals take a sharp turn when he finds himself kidnapped by a giant, where his main objective becomes to survive and make it back home in one piece.
What I always want to achieve in my MCs is that there is no âflawlessâ characterâeveryone has their strengths and weaknesses, and seeing their vulnerabilities helps make them a more relatable protagonist. Sometimes, itâs the flaw that makes a character unique and stand out, memorable, endearing, or something that a reader roots for the protag to overcome. The more those strengths and weaknesses are explored and utilized in a plot or conflict, the more developed a character is, and overcoming their own weaknesses is something that anyone can relate and cheer for.
4. How many chapters is your story going to have?
At least 69, as is my brand. The word count is estimated anywhere between 120k-155k words.
5. Is it fan fiction or original content? Where do you plan to post it?
Original Work! I posted a variety of fanfiction and Originals, and post the full stories to my Archive Of Our Own account always. I do optional/additional support by providing a digital copy on Amazon Kindle eBooks, but that is only if people want to support me further (I donât have KoFi or Patreon, as my writing pace varies. It finishes when it finishes đ)
6. When did you start writing?
I started writing fanfiction in 2009 back on old fanfiction.net. Original writing started in 2014 with the development of Peter Hart.
7. Do you have any words of encouragement for fellow writers of writeblr? What other writers do you follow?
It sounds cheesy, but itâs true: Follow your dreams. Write the book that YOU would want to read, and be your biggest writing fan. I go back to my own books all the time, and because I enjoyed writing them and took the time to develop them, it was just as enjoyable reading-reading them from a casual point of view, and not a technical one. Get your heart out there, because thereâs only one of youâone unique brain with wonderful ideas waiting to be actualized. Learning by doing, and remembering what inspired and motivated us to write in the first placeâdonât lose that sense of wonder đŤâ¨
I follow SO many writeblrs. Iâm excited to see what the community all is doing, and everyone has their own unique flavor of writing that is creative, fascinating, and inspiring. My Take On Wish
I liked it. Now, itâs not the best. But itâs still pretty good in hindsight. They had a good idea, but they executed it poorly.
I think a big reason is the movie had such high expectations. It was the movie for the 100th anniversary, which is huge. But they had no time and no money. The movie feels rushed, there's so much that happens too fast in such a short amount of time. That brings me to my next point.
Time. This movie should have been longer. Of the most recent movies, like Turning Red, Encanto, Luca and Elemental, they run for about 1 hr and 35-49 minutes. But they don't feel rushed. Everything us spaced out and works, at least for the most part. Every movie has it flaws in run time. Wish runs for the same amount of time as Encanto; but it feels so much more rush. The movie should have been longer, and I feel like people wouldn't have been too made at an extra 20 to 30 minutes. It would've given a lot more to world and established things, and answer questions that were left unanswered.
Characters. They weren't bad! They had some good characters, and the designs were...good. I like them, and I can see what they were doing. Like Magnifico and Amaya, I really like their designs! Same with the teens (save for a few things, mostly color, but I digress). Valentino is cute, but I don't like how they gave him a deep voice. Asha and Star? They're ok, at best. Looking at the concept art in the book, there was SO much potential that they didn't use.
Asha looks a lot like Isabela. It's a running joke. But the closer I look, she looks too much like her. Literally, if you look in the book, you can see that she actually had a floral dress that seemed a little too similar to Isabela's. The thing is, she had a lot of other really good designs, which I used in the redesign below, among other things. Star, he's cute but...it's sad. He was so obviously going to be a love interest. AND YES DISNEY. IT'S OK TO HAVE A HEROINE FALL IN LOVE. I took one of his designs that nearly stuck and tweaked it a little. He still has a star form, for other purposes.
The songs. They were ok, but I'm sort of understanding the joke if "They were written by ChatGPT". They sound so empty? But when you listen to the demos they sound better. That brings me to "At All Costs". I heard it in the movie. It's sung by Magnifico and Asha, when it was so obviously meant to be sung by Asha and her love interest, which would have been Starboy. And the demo is actually really good.
For my redesigns? I changed quite a but on Asha. Her friends are supposed to be like the seven dwarves. So why in the world didn't they utilize Snow White for Asha? I'm not saying she had to be a carbon copy, but jeez, it would've been nice. In my design, I gave her a mix of other dresses she had in the book, changing it a bit to look like snow white's but still being original. I changed the colors, toning them to be more similar to Wish's colors.
Valentino stayed entirely the same. I saw that he was originally he was going to be much larger, pretty much grown. So, I took that and gave him a sister. They aren't really "siblings, Valentina was born way before Valentino, but he's always following behind her, so Asha deemed them "honorary siblings". And I mostly wanted Asha to have more animals around her, like Snow White.
Star is still Star, but he also has a human form. In my opinion, it wouldn't be very present until later in the story. The more tine he spends around Asha, the more he feels more comfortable using it to help Asha. And also, he wants to be like Asha. He loves humans, and watches them from the sky all the time. He may or may not be the North Star. I'm still debating.
Maybe I'll do more with other characters.
Story. I want to try a rewrite. Not now, cause I still have a bunch of Encanto that I'd want to finish, but definitely in the future. I may do more Wish posts on my designs and what I'd worldbuild with some ideas were:
Asha is already Magnifico's apprentice.
Magnifico used the book before he founded Rosa, and built Rosa to take people's wishes for his power under the guise of what he does in the movie currently. He keeps some wishes alive to grant them. No one knows, not even Amaya. Asha finds out. This means he's evil from the start and stays evil. No redemption. No return.
Wishes affect a person not just emotionally, but slightly mentally and sometimes physically. When ita given away, the person feel not just an emptiness, but also heaviness in their body physically.
Amaya is a bit more morally gray, being in Magnifico's side, and even helping him, but slowly shifting to Asha after seeing what he's doing.
Star plays a bigger role much earlier on. The Teens do as well. I feel like they had no character in the movie. Not even Dahila, who I do I love.
It's closer to Asha's birthday. So when she finds out about Magnifico, she's scared of losing her wish, and being unable to restore everyone else's that was already lost, like her Saba's.
Asha may or may not have a staff like Magnifico's. But like?? A training staff??
Magnifico may or may nit being trying to corrupt Asha with the book. She is subject to hus magic still, and sometimes it seeps into her mind, but Star is there to counter it.
Star is much stronger in terms of magic, enough to be on par, or almost on par with Magnifico.
TL;DR: I like Wish. But it has flaws. I wanna try my hand at a rewrite one if these days.

I havenât seen The Owl House but can we just talk about how Disney did this show dirty?
Let me preface this by saying that, as of the time of me writing this, I have NOT seen The Owl House in its entirety l yet. I could be in the progress of it after posting, but honestly as an outsider looking in given the entire Season 3 fiasco, Disney did this show dirty.
Like three specials only? Nothing more nothing less? With that happening due to outcry because originally it was going to get canned after the release of Season 2?
I donât think it was a fair deal to end with three specials. Season 3 shouldâve gotten the fanfare it deserved even with the outcry. Like, it is the weakest compromise possible even with mass support.
Iâm going to paraphrase some bits of what I addressed to people on discord and additional information I learnt.
Iâm surprised there wasnât more of an active effort to fight back against the cancellation since it first blew up upon announcement. Like âdoesnât fit the branding?â Didnât Gravity Falls face something similar? By that logic, this doesnât make sense at all. I feel like Disneyâs âbrand themingâ excuse is really dodgy, and it seems like there was some foul play involved. But I didnât see the fandom actively pushing back, even the creator, who did speak out about it. (Note: I havenât been on Twitter for over a year and a half, so I might not be fully aware of everything.) If I watch it and itâs as amazing as people say⌠given how I am passionate about things in this world, I wonât let Disney live this down. Itâs like treating art as a joke just to fill their pockets and the corruption the industry has over artists. We saw this last year with the strikes and given the current state with the companies running the industry nowadays (the streaming bubble, and that the whole cartoon mass purge thanks to Max)... artists are now having their creativity die out because of industry folk like Disney.
If there was pushback, Iâm glad there was at least some effort to score these three specials. But if this is how far it went, it feels like an unfair compromise. Three specials arenât enough, honestly. Even if theyâre good, it doesnât negotiate anything at all as it still feels like Disney did this show dirty. Let me be clear here as well: I am NOT beating down anyone who has taken the effort to get this. Why the hell would I do that? I'm happy you guys managed to get your voice out there and left and impact. Those three specials were hard fought, I just wish there was more because honestly, it isn't enough. And if the resentment I'm seeing is anything to go by a year later, I say keep fighting. I am also not beating down Dana, the showrunner. Dana is an amazing creator, and the fact that she stood her ground at all with her cast and crew is incredible. My problem is with the corporation, with Disney, and how they put her in a position where that fight couldnât be won in the way it should have been. I understand the fight it takes to get your foot in the door of the industry. If I were to turn around and beat down someone like Dana, who fought for her vision just like Iâm fighting for mine? I would never live that down. It would stain me for life. Considering the industry itself is small and how I am going into it in post-production, sometime down the line, I will be faced with working with her. The last thing I want is burning a bridge inadvertently. I can understand why she acted the way that she did with her crew, it's just with a lot more vocality and support, things might've been different.
Like I donât get Disneyâs thought process here. You have a big, popular show, and then you âold yellerâ it, giving it this slow death and then dragging it out with this⌠in my honest opinion; weak compromise. That is scummy and why us artists and creatives need a reform to the entertainment industry where we drive the vision and what Disney and others do come second.
At best, it did what it was supposed to do. At worst⌠itâs not enough.
With everything that the fanbase done including the cast, crew, and even Dana, while I'm happy they managed to end it, I feel like there should have been more active effort. I do notice there is still a lot of resentment and I mean A LOT OF RESENTMENT. I noticed a lot of the fandom got a hashtag trending, some fanart mailed into Disney itself, but I'm surprised there isn't like a full on physical protest. Online can only do so much. Like imagine a D23 but everyone is in their cosplay of the show with signs having references to whatever the show has going on. I mean, sure, it is unheard of, but consider the compromise, how it was censored in other countries, maybe even how mistreated it got during the making of Season 3. Go to the heart of where decisions are made. If you feel strongly about the compromise, take that energy and turn it into real action. As an outsider who is about to come on, I feel you so much. I hope the show is really good when I watch it, but in case if I don't, you guys really deserve better. Honest. I could be wrong in all this there's more to the story then I realize, so please go easy with this. Thank you.

Hell yeah it's the Abyss magic rant
Just warning for like a tiny Book 7 spoiler regarding the magic in twst and bc translations are still a bit rough so take it with a pinch of salt, and also mentions of death and murder.
Apparently Book 7 talks a bit about where magic in twst came from, and apparently it came from a wish/intense desire. It's certainly very Disney for the magic in twst to come from hopes and dreams XD.
I always wanted Abyssal magic to be separate and different from twst's regular magic. It does not function the same, it does not come from the same place, and it is not cast in the sam way..
Abyssal magic requires drawing things, saying things, drawing from a particular source (blood a bone a ghost a corpse hell you can kill something and start doing it) because it thrives on death and decay and if you channel it with something like a plant that's still alive it will shrivel and rot.
Regular twst magic relies on you picturing what you want to happen and having a strong imagination (which actually makes the wish thing make sense ngl) pointing your pen and casting. You draw from around you (water, flora, fire, cosmic) but it doesn't kill anything because you are essentially making it yourself. Obviously there's then potions and that kinda stuff but I'm just focusing more on what seems to the """raw""" magic if that makes sense.
The Abyss is a place of hopeless agony and endless death and violence and is generally very separated from the rest of the world of twst. (It's like a Slaughter domain lol/ref)
To just clarify, the Abyss is not the entire midnight zone of the Coral Sea, it is simply a specific place (you could call it a huge trench I suppose) in the midnight zone that is below/in the Coral Sea but it is not considered part of it or part of any country. It used to be a mer country of its own though, like the Coral Sea (though not necessarily a wealthy or strong one), till it collapsed but that so so long ago that I doubt even the fae remember it. Perhaps Malleus' grandmother has a vague memory of it though.
Basically yeah the place is a hell hole where imagining about the future doesn't really get you anywhere. So you have to take to survive and kill others to avoid being killed yourself. You can't really dream and hope, you've just gotta wish for survival and do what you can to protect yourself.
I think if one form of magic can come from a hopeful wish, then another can come from a desperate fearful one. Regular magic came from hope and imagination and therefore requires imagination, abyssal magic came from the need to survive in a dog eat dog environment and therefore requires taking from others/killing things.
I think regular twst magic originally came from the raw form of cosmic magic (The evening star/the guide to Neverland ref anybody? Or just the Disney logo with the castle and star) hence why it seems to be the most powerful attack and why the most powerful main character (Malleus) has all cosmic spells for his dorm card.
Twst magic came from the heavens, basically, and Abyssal magic came from the pitch black darkness down below. Heaven and hell/jjj
I think it also works out well because iirc the best mages for regular twst magic have the strongest imagination (since natural power only takes you so far), so I think the best Abyssal magic users would have the strongest desire to survive and would be willing to sacrifice others to do that (like Emrys and Silas. I think Finn's abyssal magic is a little bit weak compared to them because of this) Silas' own magic that was dormant for about 9 years literally manifested cause he was terrified and about to get eaten and then it blasted some random mer's jaw off their face.
Obviously we've seen in twst that magical power can be passed on through blood, but I think Abyssal magic functions differently and you don't need to be born into a family that uses it to learn how to do it (however I think it would be incredibly difficult) and just because your parents were powerful doesn't mean you will be.
The vast difference between the two magics is why it's been so difficult for Silas to learn and master "regular" magic which in turn made it difficult for him to teach it to Finn and resulted in Finn being a bit behind when he arrived at NRC (it was easier for Morrigan cause well *gesures* he's Morrigan)
Then there's also the fact almost nobody has heard of Abyssal magic and most who have think it's just a myth from a time when those on land were very afraid of the creatures in the sea. Kinda hard to learn much about it. Especially since it's basically a dead/dying form of magic.

10 Disney hot takes/unpopular opinions (Part 5)

I did not realize how many unpopular opinions I had until I started back on part 3. Anyways, here are some more, and be sure to check out part 4 here.

Merida should NOT be part of the Disney princess roster--I mainly say this because Disney over time has become conflated with the companies it owns, resulting in people calling Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Fox, etc. "Disney," despite them all having different creatives and teams. While "Brave" was made after Disney buying out Pixar, I feel like making Merida a Disney princess contributes to the conflation, and I feel like the DP line should only be something Disney has for their own company, especially when you remember the fact that Disney doesn't really market or promote Merida as much as the other princesses (and Pixar barely acknowledges her film), though I will say it's probably because her film isn't a musical, similar to how underrated Raya is, despite being a Disney princess. Speaking of which...

2. Raya should only be marketed with one cultural background, two at the most--The fact that her film is a mix of Southeast Asian cultures without defining barriers or specific influences has gained polarized reviews for generalizing the culture, and some people have even surmised it was so Disney could market her in various Southeast Asian clothes rather than just one. While Kumandra is kind of a mess, I do think it'd help to present Raya (at least in dolls/associated merchandise) as having a specific cultural influence to her, maybe two if her mother was from a different land than her father. I am biased towards making her Vietnamese due to the whole "dep la" verbiage between her and Namaari, as well as Raya's voice actor and one of the writers for her film being of Vietnamese heritage. That said, I could also see her being marketed as Malaysian, due to the other co-writer being of Malaysian heritage and Raya's name being Malay for "celebration."

3. "Frozen" is Disney's "Shrek"--At least on the animated side; "Enchanted" is the true rival to "Shrek" overall (and can we PLEASE get a 2D film with an art style like they did?! Alphonse Mucha's art is gorgeous!). While the meta moments sometimes felt heavy-handed, it felt like the foil to classic Disney the same way that Dreamworks had done, and honestly I feel like it worked in it's favor. I'm glad the sequel didn't try to copy that, though.

4. Pocahontas is one of the best Disney protagonists--Yes, the film was inaccurate and included a sexualized lead (who had several non-Indigenous women as her physical influence) along with including a romance that never happened. I get why people hate this movie and her. I'm just saying I love her personality, her spitiuality, athleticism, kindness, intelligence, and reverence for her culture (because it would've been very easy to make the "dissatisfied character forsakes their culture in favor of another one"). NGL, I feel like if her deerskin outfit was longer, a significant portion of her criticism would cease.

5. "Oz the Great and Powerful" should've been animated--Given the success of "The Wizard of Oz" and "Wicked," it seems that Disney doing a take on "The Wizard of Oz" would've been a hit, but as "Return to Oz" and "Oz the Great and Powerful" will tell you, they did not reach those heights. While OTGAP wasn't spectacular, had it went through the Disney Animation pipeline during the 2010s (the best part of the revival era; another hot take?), I think the writing and story would've been better. Bonus points if it was a musical! Of course, the main idea for the film could've easily been used for an original property instead of one related to "The Wizard of Oz." I also think "Hocus Pocus" should be animated, but that's another post.

6. Disney should take a break from Europe for a while--While getting more specific with European cultures recently with "Frozen" (Not sure if was specifically Norwegian or just Scandinavian in general) and "Wish," I do feel like it's a bit played out, at least for now. With growing cultural awareness, Disney's diversity with "Moana," "Encanto," and even "Raya and the Last Dragon," I do want to see Disney explore more cultures outside of Europe. I mentioned in my "Part 3" post that I'd like diversity for the next musical, but this part goes beyond that; I feel like the next 5 films after "Frozen 3" that are set with real-world influence should take place in countries outside of Europe. Asia and the Americas have my vote, but if Disney makes an animated musical in Africa with HUMANS, I'll be very happy. In fact--

7. Disney should've used Beyonce's "The Gift" and Lin-Manuel Miranda's work on "Mufasa" for their animation department--Both of them crafted really gorgeous work, but they used it for films that's existence has gained mixed responses due to Disney's live-action remake trend. Imagine if Beyonce and Lin worked together on a soundtrack!

8. John Musker and Ron Clements need more work--It ASTOUNDS me that they directed "Moana," one of Disney's best-received films EVER, and have been behind several other classic Disney films, but over the past 20 years, they've only directed and/or written two films for Disney. Can we circle back to that "Swan Lake" idea the duo overlooked in the 90s? (Note: It'd be cool to explore an Eastern European culture since the composer was Russian, but as per #7, that'll have to come later. Plus political situations probably mean Russia itself isn't an option for now.)

9. Collaborate with other creatives--I've made fanmade posts about potential Disney films, and they included using well-known directors and songwriters. I really feel like it'd be nice for Disney to work with these creatives for something fresh and fun. AND GIVE THEM SPACE TO WORK!

10. More "Making of" documentaries--"Frozen 2" was EYE-OPENING, and I'm sure Disney isn't eager to earn the ire of the fans again, especially if they explain why their recent movies have been the way they are, ie why "Raya and the Last Dragon" had a major upshake 7 months from release, why "Wish" is so different from the OG concepts, how the crew for "Moana 2" adapted to making the show a film with only 10 months, etc. "Making of..." would make a fun series on Disney+; I'm sure it'd be VERY popular.

I've been thinking about how Luther could have fit so easily into the Disney Renaissance villains again.
He and the Rogues really make me remember what we lost by getting rid of simple villains.
Luther can either be a product of his environment if we go by the original movie / video game or he can be a symptom of the general bigotry that exists in the world.
I feel like if he were created specifically today they're probably would have made him way too complex like some sort of direct parallel to Cyrus or something and we would have lost so much what makes him so interesting.
He can be genuinely terrifying but can also be very comedic depending on how you look at them or even downright pathetic given he may or may not be the son of Victor and is imitating with his father probably does to his own loved ones.
I like the idea of Luther being the embodiment of "suffering doesn't create good people, it creates suffering", in the sense of: I don't think it's *possible for someone to end up that fucked up without some trauma. Like, why would he even be in gang life he lived in a totally stable, loving and caring household?
(*I mean I don't have the needed knowledge to even begin a discussion about people being born "evil" as their nature X being a product of their environment so let's just say its highly unlikely)
The way he says the line "life is pain" makes me believe that he did go through something. The way he is disconnected from everything around him and sees himself as this pain-bringer entity that won't ever face the consequences of his own acts (and, when he does, he just kinda regresses to being a whiny little kid) could be a response to being neglected, isolated. Neglected in a way that he would never be punished for whatever, but neither loved or cared.
I can almost see in my mind he going fucking berserk throughout his entire childhood and teenage years, like, terrorizing other kids at school being the worse kind of bully to ever exist and never being held accountable for that. And I can see he doing that for attention. Eventually, the attention he would get from being a jerk TM wouldn't be enough, and he would start doing more hardcore stuff, progressively more criminal, and boom, gang gang gang.
And then the general bigotry of the world comes to scene, because if he's being neglected and his family* (talking abt that later) isn't educating him, "the streets" will, will them not? At least, that's what my mom always told me. But this "street educational system" aka the police seems to work faaaar better on anyone that isn't, like, a white cisgender male. He has so much less to fear, honestly, it's comical.
Luther is both of those things and at the same time he's also this caricature of a villain that keeps laughing maniacally and saying shit like "yes indeed wanna see 'em bleed get the mop mop mop" and the whole watch the word burn and chaos take over thing. Weirdly enough, this is one of the best ways I've seen this kind of problem being represented; it should be considered pathetic to be hateful about things like race, gender, sexuality... bigotry *is* pathetic, and I like the fact that a character that generally represents how society treats (or, at least, wishes to treat) minorities is portrayed as such.
(This section is dedicated to talking about his hypothetical family)
So. Families.
The first social structure we meet as soon as we're born. Your family has the duty to keep you safe, nourished, loved, and basically teach you how to be a decent human being, at least ideally.
But what if this structure is, let's say, fucked up? Trauma inducing, ain't it? Then everything goes down the drain: the protection, the love, the teachings, the function human being... that's part of what I see in Luther.
In the possibility of Victor being Luther's father, I imagine him being pretty emotionally absent, maybe even physically, considering he would be out to work a lot. Still, Luther would look up to him a lot, it's his father, after all. Maybe if he does everything right, he can get his attention! If we consider he's talking to Victor in that phone call, it fits!
(Further context for why I think that: I found in the movie wiki that Patrick, the actor for both og Luther and Victor, once said that he's talking to a character called "The Boss". Apparently, he kinda just made that shit up and it became canon since no other explanation was given. In the same part of the wiki, I found this commentary that he must look up to that person considering the unique way they interact with them then and in other instances in the game)
Ok now it's 4 am. I need to finish this thing before going to sleep so I'm sorry if this last part is rushed or incomprehensible I don't wven know how I'm still awake
Victor also seems to be very aggressive, and I doubt he keeps it only to harassing young women at work and throwing them under trains (*sob*). He would of course behave like that at home too, I totally agree with you that, in great measure, the way he acts with his crew is basically him imitating how Victor would act with his family.
It's funny and tragic for me to imagine that the way he treats Cropsy â both the passive aggressiveness he shows in the musical and the physical assaults he does in other medias â being just a mirror of how Victor would treat his wife.
I think it was you that talked about Luther's parents being divorced at some point (but I could be wrokg cause I'm super sleepy rn) and dude I agree so fucking much with that. I think they would be the kind of couple that takes way too long to get divorced (esp considering the time period we're talking about) and that just leaves more and more trauma on their children's heads.
Imagine Luther's whole villain's past being like "my dad be rude and violent :( my parents divorced :( now I kill oppressed ppl's leadership:("
*read it in a whinny lil voice
He doesn't need a complex "Cyrus' parallel that went wrong" past to work and this simplicity is beautiful, but if he was written nowadays it would happen 100%
#sopa talks#warriors musical#warriors album#luther warriors#realized I forgot to yap about Cropsy.#but mu vision is getting blurry I better get some sleep#I'll leave it to another dy

Been waiting for a bit to show this off on here. Got my finalized designs for Asha done for my big wish rewrite project!
One thing I want to make clear in this project is that I have no qualms with the creatives who worked on Wish. They put their all into trying to make this movie as good as it could be with the time, material, and skills they had. My qualms are with the suits who pushed them to turn this movie into an advertisement for Disney rather than a celebration of their legacy. That's why I tried to use as much of the original concept art of the film as possible when making this designs for the video essay!
For Asha, I had a lot of work ahead of me considering my decision to make her Magnifico and Amaya's daughter. Mostly designing both proper princess attire that matches her parents, and her own outfit to make her stand out more as an individual.
I know a lot of people enjoy her warmer colorscheme from her early concepts, but I decided to keep her purples from the original film. With my Starboy's design being primarily gold, it meant the two of them would have complementary color schemes. And considering I'm going with the ever popular decision to make them romantically involved in my rewrite, I think the complementary colorschemes work perfectly in that regard! I also kept her braids. While they don't serve the same purpose as the design choice does in the original movie(showing off Asha's amazigh heritage with her intricately braided hair), I think it looks nice regardless! I just wish the movie didn't keep it magnetized to her shoulder like they were trying to emulate Elsa.
Most of my other design notes are in the images themselves as annotations, so feel free to give them a read if you're curious about some of these decisions!
I'll post Starboy soon, I've just gotta refine some things on his little reference before I do.

GET TO KNOW YOUR MUTUALS
Tagged by my beloved @wicked-felina <3
Whatâs the origin of your username?: Idk, I was just dicking around trying to find a name for my new hyperfixation and was honestly SHOCKED that this url wasn't taken beforeâ it felt like such an obvious reference to the books. I honest to god can't even remember what my username was before this, I know I had a different one, but like....I've always been covenofthearticulate LOL.
OTP(s) + ship name: Mostly just here for any ship involving Louis de Pointe du Lac lmao. Loustat, Loumand, Loumandstat...even the elusive Danlou (i think that's what the kids are using nowadays for daniel/louis??)
Favorite color: I go through phases of different colors all the time, but most of my clothes are autumnal shades of maroon and burgundy and olive green, which clashes horrendously with my neon hair LOL
Song stuck in your head: Ohio (Come Back to Texas) by Bowling for Soup LMAO
Weirdest habit/trait: I mean the thing with this question is like!! I don't think any of my habits are weird!! They're weird to other people, probably, but I'm just out here living my life!
Hobbies: writing, painting my jean jacket collection, basketball, and cooking :)
If you work, whatâs your profession?: at this point I wear too many damn hats and my title has too many hyphens
If you could have any job you wish, what would it be?: theoretically I am working my dream job lol but I'll always be hungry for more work in publications. I've written articles in all 5 shows at our theatre company this year but I think it would be cool to be like a creative director or something for the program
Something youâre good at: writing
Something you hate: when people ask me absolutely idiotic questions and I have to be nice about it
Something you collect: vinyls, vampire art, concert memorabilia (guitar picks, drumsticks, setlists)
Something you forget: the only certainties in my life are death, taxes, and forgetting to reply to a text message.
Whatâs your love language?: agreeing with prev: I cook for the people I love. I'm definitely an acts of service girlie. Growing up, my dad would randomly cut up fresh fruit and bring me a bowl for me to eat in bed in my room, and that, to me, is the epitome of love.
Favorite movie/show: asdfgxfhcghvj girl idk all I've been watching lately is Make Some Noise, Game Changer, and just everything on Dropout. But some shows that changed my brain chemistry were Penny Dreadful, The Umbrella Academy (s1 ONLY), Daredevil, Poker Face, and Veep
As far as movies...Sweeney Todd and Interview with the Vampire, of course, and also Moonrise Kingdom and The Shape of Water
Favorite food: any sort of dim sum tbh. also garlic bread my beloved.
Favorite animal: Tortoises
What were you like as a child?: Deeply emotionalâ the story my mom likes to tell everyone is that she once walked in on me crying in front of the tv while watching Peter Pan because I felt so terrible that Captain Hook had his hand chomped off by a crocodile LMAO for some reason I was always very empathetic to all the Disney villains. I used to play pretend tea parties with Cruella De Ville and Captain Hook and Ursula because I wanted them to have friends and not be mean asdfghsbjdnfsdefv
Favorite subject at school: English
Least favorite subject: ya girl flunked out of math class. twice.
Whatâs your best character trait?: I hate sounding like one of those empath bitches, but I do carry a lot of empathy and tend to be very thoughtful about how my actions affect other people. also I'm fucking FUNNY!!!! I love love LOVE making my friends laugh
Whatâs your worst character trait?: I'll do just about anything to avoid confrontation LMAO. I'll chew my own leg off before inconveniencing anyone else.
If you could travel in time, who would you like to meet?: asdfghdbfc I'm always terrible with these questions bc like, I really don't have much interest in meeting anyone famous or anyone from the past LOL I mean I can give a generic answer like David Bowie or Stephen Sondheim or even Anne Rice, or give a depressing answer like I'd love to get 5 more minutes with my Dad before he had his stroke, but neither of those seem right. I don't think I'd be a good time traveler lmfao

ASHA (MY AU)
Emmmmm how the hell do these types of blogs get started?
This post is just going to be me rambling on about what I want to do with Asha.
So let's get started?
INTRODUCTION: -As I said before I'm still developing this story (damn I don't even have an outline) but I wanted to start this rewrite (or plan it a little) because of something that really frustrates me about Wish, literally in a movie that commemorates 100 YEARS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT STUDY OF ANIMATION IN THE WORLD and the topic of art has not been given the importance it deserved, you know? It's like, yes, Asha shows her sketchbook in certain scenes, but then what? It literally seems like it's just for decoration, damn, Disney could have done the same thing as with the Miles Morales sketchbook in Spiderverse, but I'm already getting distracted from the topic, so one of my goals with this was to emphasize how important art can be , and not just the drawing, but all the forms that exist of it.
-So Asha is a little different from previous Disney princesses.
2. HISTORY:
CHILDHOOD: Yup! I'm joining the angst ship, I don't really blame anyone *cough* *cough* Flicker *cough* Bo *COUGH* *COUGH* ANNY *cough*, damn my allergies are getting worse. So Asha at this stage is quite cheerful and positive, basically like Rapunzel, Moana, Anna and this princess trope, however this takes place in the modern world (the movie would be set like in the princess and the frog movie only the world It's a little more modern) Asha discovers her passion for drawing, and as she grows up she wants to dedicate herself to that and is full of a lot of dedication and determination, but what would happen if we corrupted her dreams?
PUBERTY: âIt's fine as a hobbyâŚbut it won't work Ashaâ, âDon't you like doing other moreâŚuseful things?â, âCome on, you have so much talent, are you really going to waste it on this?â , âHave fun without having a futureâ âReally this is more important than your other things Asha?â ,Yes, I am adding this, Asha wants to dedicate herself to animation, so Asha at first, like every Disney princess with character, ignores these types of comments, which came from anyone in general, some said it with good intentions and in a calmer mode and others in a more aggressive way (you know, being idiots), but when you receive this type of comments your entire life, it will somehow affect the protagonist, and it will only get worse *Insert evil laugh*
ADOLESCENCE: I didn't mention it but I plan to include Asha's family, or at least at the beginning, she was living with her parents Sakina and Tomas as in the official movie (I'm still debating whether to add Sabino or not), her father gets sick as in the original movie, so Sakina and Asha do their best to help him, then Asha has less and less time to concentrate on practicing drawing and in general her hobbies (I also want to emphasize that here Asha was doubting more and more about drawing as a professional way and started to despise her talent a little bit, not completely but that little seed had already been inserted in her head), her father was her biggest motivation, he was a dreamer like his daughter, her mother was more down to earth but equally supportive of her family, Tomas was always the first to see his daughter's drawings.
So continued the life of our protagonist, studying, working a little and drawing in the little time she had, and in those jobs she met Magnifico and Amaya, I'm still debating how I'm going to write them, but I'm sure I want them to do a scene with Asha that I'll explain later, for now let's continue.
One day Asha's father can't take it anymore and diesâŚâŚ.. all Asha could do was watch her mother running to her room because she really didn't want her daughter to see her in that state.
With that you're probably wondering, âWell, Asha can get a motivation to keep being a dreamer and pursue her dreams to follow her father's legacy rigth? â Well actuallyâŚâŚâŚno, Asha in my Au unfortunately had already endured TOO many comments that referred to her dreams of being an entertainer or artist, even her mother had referred to it in a not so positive way (no, Sakina is a good mother, she's not perfect, but she cares like every mother about her daughter's future) , and without her major support in life, thatâŚ..eso ended up deciding that she would just give up on those dreams⌠or at least until a certain day.
CURRENTS: In the movie Asha is presented as a girl who studies a career that she does not like for the most part, but she says to herself âIt's too late to redeem herself, there is no turning back, I just have to continue and everything will be fine, for me and my familyâ, she also works as an assistant to Magnifico and Amaya, during years of having met them she was getting closer little by little, in fact they knew the protagonist's family for some years but they had distanced themselves, they also âtriedâ to help with Tomas' illness, but as it was shown before that did not work out, now they gave Asha this job opportunity and she is not going to waste it, since she still has to help her mother.
Let's say that Asha doesn't draw much anymore, she still makes small sketches because, well, when you are really passionate about something you keep doing it despite the adversities, right? Even unconsciously (you're understanding what I'm trying to say, right? ), besides, it's not like she still deep inside has not stopped wanting to fulfill her dream, although she every time says that making drawings will not lead her to anything or just saying âit's a hobby that will not lead me to anything useful or importantâ is just to have a constant reminder that she might not make it, that it's not worth it, that no matter how much she loves to create and draw, it just doesn't make sense anymore.
Remember I told you about a scene between the villain duo and Asha? well this is what I have in mind:
Asha somehow or another is going to end up asking Magnifico and Amaya for help, which would lead to Asha maybe not working with them anymore or something so she can pursue a small glimmer of hope of fulfilling her dream of being an animator (as I say before, this post is just me rambling), the villain duo simply proceed to manipulate the poor girl by making snide and manipulative comments about her âinsignificant goalsâ and her âwasted talentâ, if Asha herself was already quite doubtful about these issues, this just makes her worse, she's lost, she doesn't know what to do, she's afraid of her future, she doesn't want to let her mother down, she doesn't want to end up being a disappointment (maybe I overdo angst, it doesn't matter, it's important for â¨character developmentâ¨).
Now a multiversal cosmic thing happens (that I'm still thinking about) but the point is that my Starboy (Haedus) and his 2 protĂŠgĂŠ/small brothers (Nembus and Naos) arrive, at first Asha is VERY SCARED AND CONFUSED, I mean, this is not possible right, she must be confused from crying so much - I mean this only happens in the movies and fantasy stories she saw as a child right?! (lmao)
At first she doesn't get along with Haedus, not at all, with the little ones at first she is a bit distant, but little by little she starts to develop a great appreciation for them, the little starlets (and then Haedus) throughout the story bring back to Asha that dreamy and positive side of her.
Also Asha is not the type of person who makes derogatory comments when it comes to the goals or dreams of other people and her friends despite having received them all her life, no, she is not that type of person, of course everything she has lived through makes her more sarcastic or pessimistic at times, but she doesn't want someone else to feel like her, she doesn't want anyone to go through what she went through, and this is only reinforced with the arrival of the stars.
I have to mention that Nembus and Naos make Asha remember how she was as a child: cheerful, positive, dreamer, and seeing how the antagonists want to hurt them, how that can destroy the hopes and illusions of the little stars, that just makes her more determined to defend the little ones at all costs.
âThey still have dreams, and they can still fulfill them, that's why I won't let others destroy those dreams, not like me.â
3.PERSONALITY:
-Sarcastic -Negative to a certain extent -Empathetic -Indecisive -Calm -Organized
FINAL COMMENTS:
That's all I have for now, I hope I haven't bored you, as I said before, this is all just my rambling, I still don't have an outline or plan for this, anyway, I hope you had a good time reading this, see you next time!â¨â¨â¨
