Billie and her older brother Robbie! He's 8 years older and is a BIG DUDE. Billie's about 5'6" and Robbie is about 6'3" and a former bouncer, so he would need to bend to do a pose like this with his little sister. Fun fact: Robbie is actually my very first farmer! He was my original farmer on my first save file of SDV when I was still playing on my Switch. He married Harvey and they're very happy with two kids. When I decided to play the game on PC for the first time, I decided to make his little sister and Billie came to be!

holy shit this year marks 10 years of this blog and moz!! i can't remember the exact date i started posting here - my archive says i have one post from november 2013 but let's disregard that - but i do remember it was around late 2014/early 2015 :)

2014 → baby's first rpg!! i started playing fnv on my cousin's jailbroken xbox late 2013 and finished mid 2014 and i loved every minute of it. i remember waking up at 8am and playing almost nonstop until 2am the next day haha!

i didn't play moz on my first playthrough - but i did start creating a character that would eventually become her: a shorthaired ex-boxer who punched her way through obstacles when diplomacy failed. i remember she spent a lot of time with boone. i liked him then, because he saved my ass more times than i can count. but i digress. this is draft 1 moz essentially

2015 → this is the year that i was doing my thesis so i could graduate but i was so depressed and stressed about it that i distracted myself by replaying fnv on pc, where i played through the dlcs for the first time. i fell in love with the dlcs' oversarching story; particularly ulysses, who i became obssessed with, especially since i couldn't find any content of him at the time. in the game, i played as moz; i had most of her personality and choices down, but her backstory was still up in the air.

fun fact: this was an existing sideblog that i remade to be a fallout blog so i could look for ulysses content, and when i couldn't find any, i made some myself, featuring moz as my main courier six. originally, i didn't ship them, but eventually i ended the year as a courier/ulysses otp shipper.

this was the year i started drawing digitally - my uncle let me borrow a drawing tablet and i used an old copy of photoshop i pirated hehe

2016 → i graduated this year!! and promptly fell deeper into my depression. this was the year that it got so bad that i had to be medicated. through it all, this blog and moz and ulysses and my fandom friends were with me. and for that i am truly grateful :) this was the year i figured out how to lock transparent pixels so that i could color my lineart lol

2017 → i started hammering out moz's backstory this year i think. there's a lot of sketches of her and her family in my files. i experimented with shading and backgrounds here but that experimentation was pretty short-lived

2018 → i started using references seriously!!!! i did a lot of oc on oc kissing this year, featuring mostly moz and many friend ocs haha

2019 → didn't draw much this year. actually this year was a blur and i can't remember much from it except from it being the year of my terrible no good bad copywriting jobs... anyway i did manage to continue my courier/ulysses brainrot and make this piece, which i'm still proud of

2020 → pandemic time. i spent a lot of time asleep at home and i think this was also the year i started doing commissions?? shoutout to anyone who has ever commissioned me - thank you so much, i truly appreciate it!!

2021 → i switched from my old-ass pirated photoshop to clip studio paint and never looked back. also i did a bunch of commissions for my grandmother's surgery, which failed, and i distracted myself from the sadness by drawing my ocs over and over and playing disco elysium

2022 → by this year, i've got moz down pat and have started vaguely developing other ocs instead. but she's still always at the back of my mind

2023 → i bought new brushes from true grit texture supply and immediately found new favorites that i started using for everything. i tentatively started incorporating background elements in some pieces!

2024 → while it's still too early to say where this year will lead me art-wise, i will say that i started experimenting in realistic paint studio (which i bought in 2021, the same time as clip studio paint) a few days ago and i'm liking the results so far. we'll see!

all in all, these last 10 years have been quite a ride, but i'm glad i stuck around and i'm glad you guys stuck around too!! much much love 💖💖💖

With the new year on the horizon and 10 completed games under my belt, I thought it might be fun to go through some projects that didn't make the cut and I ended up shelving for one reason or another! (It's only like, 2 of 'em but still)

The first is a game about Theodore and Zapara. While Tricks N Treats was my first finished + published RPGmaker game, I originally started testing things out with RPGM shortly after Cemetery Mary's release. The following game was meant to take place in the CM universe.

It was my first time using RPGMaker & it shows. It was also being made in VXAce, hence why proportions are so different from all my current projects. VXace uses 32x32 tiles whereas MV + above use 48x48. Trying to work within these limitations was a bit tricky for me

The (gif) footage you see above is all that exists of the game now(I didn't even screen record LOL). Back when my old laptop kicked it the files for this game went with it and I never cared to back them up. I don't consider it a hard loss though as by that point I had already moved on to bigger more polished projects and I didn't see myself returning to it any time soon(or at all).

The plot of the game was that Theo woke up in the night to hear Zapara leaving their apartment. When he goes to look for and finds her, she seems to want to avoid going back to the apartment for reasons she won't share. By the end of the game she confesses that she had a really realistic nightmare and she's scared if she goes back it will come true. Theo reassures her that he would never let her nightmare happen in reality, and so the two go back together. In the morning, we see Crowven texting them. They're making plans to go out to a club, when Crowven asks if his cousin can come along--tying it into CM.

I think if I made this game, it would've been cute, and maybe I'll even do something with the premise for a larger game, but I don't see myself trying to start this as a solo project again.

The next game that was shelved from when I was learning Unity & Adventure Creator. Patrons had seen previews it! I started this game as a tool to help me learn the programs, and it got shelved when I felt it was no longer teaching me but instead adding weight to my back.

Unlike the previous game, this is a game I COULD see myself starting again--probably using the same method I'm using for WISHMAKER in RPGM. This game is called "Dreary Elaine", and it's a bit interesting!

(ignore the reference PNG of Elaine here HAHA) This game, like WISHMAKER, is a point-and-click adventure game, where you play as the titular Elaine as she delivers party invitations to her neighbors.

The thing that makes Dreary Elaine interesting is that it is actually an offshoot of my other work! Mary Anta is a character that exists in the fictional world of Noisrev. Dreary Elaine is Mary's favorite childhood book series. A fictional world within a fictional world!

As I said above, this is a game that has the potential to come back one day--I'm just not currently sure when. But exploring the Elaine-verse is something that always appeals to me and who knows! Maybe I'll represent it more in my work going forward.

Writing Update 9/19/2024

Been a while since I did an update! Last week I was on jury duty and it MURDERED my writing time as I had to change up my day and it took longer to get home (mentally draining....)

Been back at work this week, but still has been draining, so less time to get things done, but trying to get back into the flow of things! Hopefully more updates to show soon!

Culturally Inappropriate: Starting to outline the fic and name the characters who are going to be with Yuuji through the Possessed Anonymous group. Letting it build its own themes and feeling good about it so far!

This is the sequel to Historically Inaccurate and keeps moving with the themes and Sukuna and Yuuji building their relationship as vessel and and cursed spirit while also their personal healing. Gonna be good hopefully!

Law Meets Disorder: (Maybe changing to Law and Disorder for the title) Still mapping out my ideas but might get to finally finishing up the outline soon!

The Dragon Story: Still more an idea with more worldbuilding done than plot. Need to find a solid plot for it....

Introducing: Jay!! My ducktales oc!! (If it wasn't blatantly obvious lmao)

Do you want to know more about them? No? Too bad!

Jay, aka January was the first ever clone F.O.W.L. created. However, due to a lab accident, Jay ended up not only with scrooge's DNA, but also Bradford's. Deeming the clone a "failure", Heron drops the created baby off at an orphanage.

(Bradford becomes enraged when he later learns of this - a child with his and scrooge mcduck's dna?? Just out there??? Has Heron no concept how problematic that could shake out to be???)

Jay spends the first 9 years of their life kinda bouncing from foster home to foster home (kinda developing a bit of a thing abt people seeing them eat. Because of how their beak is a bit weirdly aligned, they can't eat quite the same as most others, and people stare.). But eventually they scrape together enough resources for like, one of those online-dna testing kits that spit out who you're related to.

Turns out their parents are Scrooge McDuck!!! (And some random vulture guy? Weird)

Thus, Jay sets out to become an adventurer like their dad, to meet him one day on their adventures!

Except, first adventure they immediately get trapped in a parallel, kind of very hellish dimension. They get out after three years, but they're pretty traumatized - and pretty much pu off of adventuring forever.

(Though they do find and keep a magic amulet in [hell dimension] that they use to cast spells. Mostly teleportation spells, really.)

Deciding they don't really want to meet a guy who's whole schtick is adventuring, they instead begin their search for dad#2, that vulture guy.

They find out he works for scrooge mcdad (of course he does) but don't judge him too harshly yet. From what they can find online (public libraries for the win!) the guy doesn't really... Do anything. Let alone go on adventures.

So Jay decides to find out where he lives and well, just kinda shows up at his door.

Much surprise is had, it's not quite the family reunion Jay was hoping for but they haven't been kicked out so they count it as a win.

Staying with their dad is pretty great, actually. He even hires a private tutor for homeschooling, since Jay missed 3 years of school and has a lot of catching up to do.

(they definitely hoard food in their room somewhere, just in case. They also have a bug-out bag ready at any given time. Just in case.)

Turns out, Dadford doesn't only also hate adventuring with a passion - he has a whole secret organization to take over the world and stop all adventuring! Forever!

(Jay found a secret stash of files on the computer they use for video games.)

Thus, at the ripe age of 13 they become the youngest FOWL agent ever!

And because they are kind of a big security risk now that they know, they get moved out to live in the outpost at the library of Alexandria instead, together with a bunch of the villains Dadford recruited.

(including Phantom Blot who Jay has an ongoing rivalry with just because they use magic sometimes lol)

(they and the villains play mario kart/party together on sundays)

Eventually, (three years later) season 1 happens and seeing the mcduck family successfully overcome the rift that della's absence left, dadford decides to put one of his better pawns into play.

Through some posturing, magic pyrotechnics and a fake mystical artefact, Jay gets planted into the mcduck family as scrooge's "magic child/clone".

(this happens during the episode "The Depths of Cousin Fethry", while huey and dewey are out meeting their cousin, scrooge, louie and webby go to find an invaluable treasure and return with Jay. Cue scrooge introducing Jay as his kid and Huey and Dewey going "wtf did we miss")

They go along on an adventure or two, mainly because saying "I hate adventuring and I don't want to do it because I was traumatized and hate it" doesn't make sense for someone who was just created from an ancient magic artefact. But after a couple adventures they can finally just put their foot down and stay home. It's chill.

They draw sometimes, do a few commissions.

Scrooge wants to bond with them so they teach him how to play video games and they watch some shows together.

Eventually, the last adventure rolls around.

At the point where Webby pretends to be June and kidnaps... Herself (yknow what part i mean. Probably) Jay comes with the clones, obviously shocking Webby.

But they make it to the library without any particular incident - except Huey getting discovered, obviously.

Jay stays behind to "escort June and Webby". They've very much realized the switcheroo that Webby pulled and use their (thus far mostly benign) magic to switcheroo back.

They nod to June, explaining that they didn't say anything earlier so that Director Dad doesn't get on her case too bad about "failing".

After that, Jay kinda just goes off to hang out a bit. Drink some pep. Chill.

On the way to Webby's cell, she wakes up and takes out June. (Because of course she does. She's Webby.)

Cue the rest of the finale.

Right up until Dadford is fighting McDuck and his fam. Because now, he calls Jay forward, who kinda immobilizes the fam with their magic for a bit.

Dadford throws his employees into the death pit, but oh shock! He picks up to throw Jay in as well.

And he does. He does throw them in.

Luckily, Jay is a master at magical teleportation and nobody realizes they weren't, in fact, erased from existence.

Bla bla bla, scrooge signs the papyrus, "family is the greatest adventure of all", boom the other vilalins show up to defeat dadford once and for all.

But what's this? It's Jay, with a magical barrier, protecting her dad from being turned into a non-sentient vulture!

They teleport themself and Dadford outta there.

At this point they're assuming they got thrown in the pit as a sort of surprise/back up, to make everyone think FOWL was already defeated when they were still there and alive. Yknow, a backup plan.

They live on the street for a bit, but Jay manages to get a job, securing the two of them an aprtment.

Dadford doesn't rlly come out of his room for a while.

Jay gets it; having ur thirty year-long plan derailed like that couldn't be, yknow, pleasant.

At some point, Louie finds them at their job and basically blackmails them into helping him out during adventures. (They kinda hide in his shadow, basically/louie summons them, so when something particularly dangerous happens they can subtly magic it away.)

Dadford eventually emerges from his room and drops the bombshell we all already knew: he very much did intend to kill Jay that day.

Jay is kinda shellshocked. They sort of robotically just return to their routine; go to work.

Louie summons them to deal with an adventure again, and wouldn't u know it? Its an adventure in that hell dimension that Jay got stuck in as a kid.

This, coupled with the revelation that one of their dads tried to kill them, kinda makes them very uncareful. They get revealed to the rest of the family but manage to get everyone out of there.

They reveal that Louie's been blackmailing them and the fact dadford tried to actually kill them sorta spills out in the same, emotionally charged rant and to their surprise scrooge offers to allow them back in the mansion, despite everything.

Jay hesitantly accepts, but mentions that they would like to keep working their current job. This is agreeable to everyone.

Jay returns to their apartment later, under the cover of "going to work" and find dadford packing his things.

They're like, what r u doing? Where would u even go?

And he's like, idk, i'll dip into my grandma's account or smth, its not like u want me here anymore, what with the attempted murder.

And Jay's like, I didn't say that.

Stunned silence.

So anyway, Jay sighs and tells dadford he's allowed to stay at the apartment and that Jay will stay at the manor again.

This is how far ive gotten. If u have any ideas/thoughts/complaints, drop 'em somewhere i can see 'em!

some info about the cousins in this AU:

Henry's parents still died, but Ashley's family adopted him into the Jang family and they all moved to the US instead, Ash and Hen are legally siblings, but he still keeps his last name

Ashley started streaming during her college/university years as a solo streamer at first, but one day brought Henry in as a guest, and became a co-streamer with her, tho occasionally both of them still do solo streams

Hen is self-conscious about his blue eyes hence he wears sunglasses in streams, viewers are often curious about his eyes, and eventually he reveal it in a stream (with a hella hefty amount of channel points being redeemed / unlocked event lol)

Both of them are variety streamers, they often do gaming sessions, chatting streams, and challenges. for solo streams, Ash plays simulation games like animal crossing and stardew valley, while hen opt for story-driven games and RPG

Ashley knows Brutus when she happened to watch one of his streams and enjoyed it, Henry is a fan of Cam's streams and often talks about it (to Ash's annoyance)

Back then I looked out for him as an older brother should, he was a shy kid – shyer than he is now, in fact. And if I weren’t playing with Miner I’d take him to the beach. One day he dug up this weird tooth, thought it was from some prehistoric creature! After that I couldn’t stop him digging up fossils every chance he got”

My Smurfs have a bit of a weird instinctual knowledge when it comes to relatives even without parents present in the Smurfverse. In-universe explanation is magic, out of universe explanation ... well a few of my Smurfs date as teens and I did not want accidental incest thank you lol. So even though they get their ancestry files as adults the kids generally can tell if someone is their brother or cousin etc.

It gets less strong once you go past second cousins so like, Wrangler and Sower feel the familial tie but Tuffy and Skelly not so much beng Great X5 uncle/nephew. Of course Smurfs do live much longer than humans so a Smurf having a Smurfling young who has a smurfling young and so forth could potentially meet descendants a much longer way down a line than normal! .. but Skelly and Tuffy are still a bit too far for that they only really have 'similar mannerisms' which brings about the theories.

So the folders thing kind of puts their mind at ease but certainly isn't a major surprise for anyone :) Archie and Pal would have always felt a close pull, Spinner and Weaver could tell their pull was closer than Tailor's so they could distinguish between sibling and cousin.

1. What’s your favourite sims death? Never thought about having a favourite, maybe the cowplant? Or maybe when death results from something usually mundane like hail or lightning (I’ve had that one).

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? Mainly Maxis match, but I think of my style as like 90% MM and 10% semi-realistic (more on the BB side) because I do find the occasional thing that fits in with my style from that aesthetic. And I feel like my style is somewhere between the true Maxis match and the cartoony style.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? No? Seems odd!

4. Do you use move objects? Constantly, it’s on more than it’s off. I have an alias set up in my cheat file.

5. Favorite mod? Wow that’s a hard one to narrow down, so I’m gonna choose a few. Based on what has the biggest and most widespread effects, I’d say ACR, Community Lot time, and the whole Traits system (that’s cheating since it’s a million mods but I don’t care lol)

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got? Would have been the very first pack, so University I guess! When the games came out I was living at home still and my mom played too, so we always got them relatively soon. Uni came out a month or so before my birthday so I suspect I probably got it as a gift that year.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing? LIVE as in LIVING, @eulaliasims is 1000% correct.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made? So not counting born in game? Sort of a tie but I’ve always been very fond of Joshua and Roxanne Lewis, they were two of Brightmaple’s founders - the first ones I thought up, and first ones I created.

9. Have you made a simself? Yes, in my old neighbourhood, I was a vampire along with the Sim version of my cousin. We lived in a huge Victorian mansion I built where I sent all the vampires in the hood to live.

15. Are you a CC creator? Yes but on and off, I do it purely for fun and primarily for things I want in my game. So I take long breaks of making nothing at all, when I’m not in the mood.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad? I wouldn’t really say so? I do chat with people from time to time and have lots of great acquaintances on here! I find it to be a generally very nice community. But I usually find online friendship difficult since I find it harder to read people purely through text with no baseline for knowing them irl, for things like tone of voice/mannerisms/body language and just general vibe.

17. What’s your favorite game? (1, 2, 3, or 4) Well I think it’s pretty obvious TS2 has ruined all other games for me (not just other Sims games either).

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? Gotten more Maxis match in terms of aesthetic, if you scroll back to like, pre-2017 on my blog you can see that for sure. For play style it’s a lot more structured - pure rotational so ages sync, more wants based, paying a lot more attention to their personalities etc.

21. What’s your Origin ID? I’ve been playing with either the RPC Launcher or a no-CD crack since the day I switched to the UC, so although I do have an Origin ID I’ve literally used it probably twice ever. So no idea!

23. How long have you had a simblr? My very first Simblr post was July 31, 2016. Before that I had a bit of a hiatus from playing for a few years, and before that I was on Livejournal/Dreamwidth.

24. How do you edit your pictures? My photo editing program (PSP8) is literally from the era of TS2 itself, which seems appropriate. It’s always worked perfectly well for me - I downloaded Photoshop a couple times but always found doing the same actions clunky and unfamiliar, so I stick with what I know. I adjust curves, saturation, and add a very slight (probably imperceptible) bloom effect. Then I crop in, and I resize by width - meaning my pics are always the same width, but the height varies slightly. I prioritize getting everything into the frame that I want, and don’t really care if the heights are different.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next? If I were making up hypothetical TS2 EP’s? I wouldn’t have minded something like Superstar from the Sims 1, having my Sims become famous (if it was done more like OFB/hands on style rather than “off to work in a carpool for the day” style) would have been pretty fun.

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far? That’s really tough to pick. Probably Seasons (such world building!), Freetime (the hobbies system adds so much depth for me!) or Open For Business (my whole hood has no EA careers and only businesses sooo...) or Pets?? I love my Sims having pets. They’re all so good!

ABOUT TATTOOISTS: In his world they play a more important societal role than just being specialized artists. ;here are 3 ranks with tattoo artists, known as Artist, Craftsman, and Artisan. ARTIST: The basic level of skill, basically similar work to human world tattooists. Mainly means they do not use any magic in their craft as they aren't certified for it (yet/don't want to/Can't train further for whatever reason) CRAFTSMAN: Advanced level of skill, applies cosmetic magic into the tattoos, such as giving them color shift, glow, and movement. ARTISAN: Highest level of skill needed, includes more serious applications for magic, such as creating protective seals, or aiding medics and doctors with healing spells, exorcisms, etc.

Family: mother Yui (A popular jazz singer) Father Harrow (A fugitive of the law) late sister Meredith, nephew/adoptive son Ichirou, adoptive son Caelan, Biological daughter Hitomi. Love interest: Alois Faydream, a Dream-eater running a cafe next to his tattoo shop. he also had a short relationship with Hitomi's human mother Saeko before this.

Abilities:

Soul Devouring: As a soul eater, he can devour the souls of anything that has one. He also has the rare and forbidden ability of "God Eater" which means he can even devour the soul of a Deity, something they normally can't do. (think beings from ancient Greek/Roman/ Egyptian mythology basically) He's also naturally very resistant to possession as a Soul eater, and can devour any soul trying to do so.

Transformation: being a Spirit type Soul eater allows him to give himself sharp spider like limbs on his back, create massive spider-like monsters from his shadowy demonic aura, use spiders to deliver messages and so on. He even has a demonic form, which has very sharp claws that can even cut through metal

Inhuman body: He is incredibly durable and can basically only be damaged by light magic based weapons and attacks. He's also physically strong, able to tear people to pieces with his bare hands if he wants to.

Soul Link: Like most Soul eaters, he can create mental links with people he trusts, and sense if they are in trouble. Soul eaters do this automatically with family, but outside them Jurou currently only has links with Angus, Shura and Shika.

Summoning Stone: Like most soul eaters, he creates "summoning stones" naturally, that appear in random places in human realm. He has no control over this process, apart from occasionally willing for one to appear in a specific place, such as the stone he gave to Hitomi's mother before they parted ways.

General magic knowledge: He knows some old dark magic spells that allow him to open portals to the human world even from the deepest parts of the Mirror World normally inaccessible from human realm.

Artisan tattooist skills: Jurou has the required knowledge to create complex magic tattoo seals as well as undo them if necessary. (example; create one to ward off possession, remove a curse tattoo, etc)

Araknos title priviledges: As the current holder of the title, Jurou is capable of contacting their ancestral spirits - including the original Araknos sorceress herself - and has access to a special secret library with all the forgotten/obscure knowledge their family had gathered over the centuries. (Jurou isn't actually aware of this until later on in the story)

Weaknesses:

He has gone through a lot off loss in his family; his father suddenly committing a seemingly atrocious crime and being jailed, losing his sister to her sickness, and having to leave Hitomi's mother behind, later finding out she'd died. All these things have left him wary and not liking to open up to new people easily in fear of losing them again. He's also very protective over his family he does have left because of all this, and they could be used as a leverage against him.

Because of people's natural fear towards him, he tends to be easily irritable and blunt towards those who don't know him well, having little patience for nonsense and feeling self-conscious over being perceived as something he doesn't see himself as (evil/dangerous). This makes him difficult to approach for many, which in turn worsens their fear towards him unfortunately.

He tends to be the type to not share his woes openly, often being the person everyone is leaning on for support, so Jurou doesn't feel like he's allowed to show weakness most of the time.

He has somewhat of a turbulent relationship with his father where he's easily irritated by his father's antics and argues with him a lot, something Jurou does wish wasn't a thing. He's still bitter towards Harrow for doing what he did, and not at least telling them the reason.

Personality:

Jurou is mostly very calm and collected person who isn't shaken easily by anything. He has very little patience for pointless chit-chat outside his close ones, and tends to get easily annoyed by someone's incompetence.

Beneath his intimidating facade, he is a very gentle and caring father who wants nothing more but to be a good parent to his kids, and do better than his father ever did. He is more affected by people's fears and suspicion towards him than he likes to admit, having the tendency to get hostile if someone accuses him of something he didn't do, occasionally not helping his case.

When he's with people he trusts, he tends to be relaxed and even teasing, and has always been a good flirt (ask Alois or Hitomi's mother). He's quite a thoughtful person and enjoys deep conversations and pondering abstract concepts.

BG Story

Jurou was the first child born for Yui and her husband; he was given the Japanese name "Jurou" (tenth son) because he was born on the tenth day of the tenth month (October 10:th). For a name from his father, he went with Alistair, meaning "protector of people."

His sister was born couple years later, and they named her Meredith from Harrow's language, whereas her Japanese name ended up being Hanae. (She mainly used Meredith as her name)

Jurou was always close with his mother, whereas Meredith was close with their dad. He rarely had time for them though, due to being very busy with his job most of the time. He still did his best to try and spend time with his children anytime he could, such as teaching Jurou how to play a piano.

His father was a member of the Overshadower Council responsible in handling the matters of dark beings, such as Soul Eaters, but did not really like how things worked, feeling like people were being labeled as "evil" just for being born a certain way by the said council. He rather advocated for returning back to the ways of old where there was no such oversight needed, and each Soul Eater could do as they pleased, good or bad, and get treated/punished accordingly rather than be immediately suspected of being bad just for being born.

He ended up thrown in prison after supposedly murdering some of his fellow council members, having snapped without warning. (it is later revealed that these Council members had found out about Jurou's God Eater ability and were contemplating on confiscating the boy from his parents to monitor him closely, potentially imprisoning him for safety and trying to erase his powers) This had a huge impact on Jurou growing up, as he was now known as the child of a murderer. He'd already been treated with suspicion by his peers due to being a Soul Eater, and this made it worse.

The only things keeping him from going down a dark path at the time were his mother and sister, and his childhood friend Shura, a Vigour Spirit who for some reason chose to be his friend despite their opposing natures (Cue introvert getting adopted by an extrovert).

He and his family did learn the true reason behind Harrow's actions eventually, which did also somewhat help him mellow out towards his parent and see things in a different light, though didn't do much to mellow out his frustrations towards his dad.

Years later, Jurou moves on to live in the "entrance city" of Mirror World, the Chrysalis, the only place that can be accessed directly from Human realm. during this time he ends up going to the human realm on his own volition, eventually meeting a human woman whom he falls in love with briefly, though eventually realizes the relationship was too dangerous for her. He leaves her with a summoning stone though before leaving, stating she could use it anytime she needed help.

Unknowingly to him, she had gotten pregnant, and years later Jurou does get summoned, but not by her, but their daughter, Hitomi. He rescues her from cultists who had found out about her powers, taking her in to the Mirror world to raise her, as she had no other place to go, and needs help learning to control her unique powers.

(Before this event he'd already adopted both his nephew who'd lost his mother to an illness, and a water serpent child Caelan, whose family - sans his cousin - had been killed by a pollution spill caused by humans.)

Fun Facts:

Jurou has been asked to join the Overshadowers council by Alois' brother Lawrence, but he always refuses due to what his father did. He's not aware that Lawrence is still planning on getting him to join, and is observing him to find a moment of weakness he can utilize.

In the same way, Jurou is ALSO not aware that Alois and his niece Ava are both trying to protect him from this.

Jurou has a complicated relationship with his father Harrow, as while he's been absent from his life for the most part, and did cause them lot of trouble with his actions, he can't really hate Harrow for his choice given he'd done the same thing had he been in his dad's shoes. He knows his dad loves him, he's just....really impulsive and stupid sometimes.

The rare times they do interact, Jurou tends to get annoyed at his father, as their tempers somewhat naturally clash and he feels like his father doesn't always think before he acts.

Jurou's more calm, less eccentric nature comes from his mother rather than father.

He tends to show his theater kid tendencies only in the human world, when he's Alistair.

You can tell he doesn't actually mind his father's personality that much, given the two other, highly important people in his life. They somewhat share Harrow's eccentric, impulsive qualities, though to a lesser extent (His bestie Shura, and his love interest Alois)

Jurou is extra protective over Hitomi/any woman in his life, because he's already lost two important ones (his sister and first lover)

He and Caelan sometimes duet to have a small-scale concert for the younger kids, with him playing a piano and Caelan his violin. Sometimes if Yui is visiting, she joins in as a singer.

Harrow in fact was the one who taught Jurou to play piano, one of the few rare bonding things they managed to do between his duties, and later being in prison and a fugitive eventually.

Jurou drinks his coffee black, of course. His favorite tea is black tea too, though he also enjoys an occasional Chai latte

Jurou tends to use Alistair Blackthorne as his name when in human realm. This sometimes confuses people because his Asian heritage from his mother is visible on his features, but then he is able to speak with a perfect English or Scottish accent (His family owns a mansion in Scotland).

Despite having Japanese relatives, they ironically are not related to him through his actual Japanese mother, but his father.

Their home is in the same building as his tattoo parlor; the entire two floors upstairs are his home while the bottom floor is for the parlor.

The old mansion in human world Scotland is where his father currently lives in, and it is staffed by four people; two humans and two nonhumans.

He was always creative and since he is good with spells and part of him wanted a job that'd allow him to connect with people more/a more lowkey work, he ended up as tattooist. (In mirror world, tattoos can have magic effects applied to them, such as glowing, shifting and moving images, color change, etc)

Generally his clients tend to be nice and less afraid of him than most others, not to mention his and his staff's work quality is top notch.

Most of his tattoos were made by his staff in fact.

Do any of your characters have secret references or meanings to their names? I’m always a fan of those!

When I name characters, I most often choose a name based on how it sounds/how it would be said and if that sound communicates the character in some way. In some ways the impression of the name and its relation to other names can create symbolism for the character. However, there are times where the names are direct references to something, and with the list I made below they will be at the end bc the explanation may be longer.

(This is exclusively splat ocs because adding all my other ones will make this list too long lmao. Plus I might talk a bit about their inspirations too!)

All this stuff under the cut!!!

Starting with Peur, I chose the name bc it just sounded nice with the plosive P and if the vowels arent stressed. I always notice that if the u and e are switched it becomes 'puer' which means 'boy' in latin. Peur is inspired by pineapples, Mallorca and the summery vibes of Splatoon 3

'Orion' was a kinda cool name I chose bc I didnt wanna go with 'octavian' because it sounded too basic. I think his name adds some mystery and implies he is a classy person too (but also I am a critical role fan so the name sometimes reminds me of tiberius lol). The character is inspired by takoyaki, red son from Monkie Kid, daffy duck (mainly the voice), RPDR, saucy santana and jjba.

Oriana and all the octavio cousins have their names bc they just sound cool and fitting with their character and aesthetic, for example Olav sounds serious but memorable (for a politician) and Odaliah sounds regal and sophisticated. Oriana's name to me sounds like it would belong to someone popular so yeah. Every octavio oc I made is inspired by a musical artist and Beyonce's Renaissance album lol.

Troy's name is a direct reference to the city of Troy in Greco-Roman stories (Ilead and Aeneid), the city that is destined to fall from the Greek invasion (dont worry Troy usnt destined to die or anything lol). I think it fits because Troy is a history nerd and he just chose this name (but also it could reference Aeneas from the Aeneid who left Troy to found Rome in myth). Other than that, Troy is inspired by some JPEGMAFIA songs and my fave superhero Miles Morales (especially after atsv)

Ace's name for starters is just a short but cool name and it also refers to the ace of playing cards, not assigned to any number (like agents in the NSS) but still apart of the deck. I made the character whilst listening to MF Doom who is one of my fave rappers because of their comic book/supervillain aesthetic (check out the song crosshairs)

DJ/the Captain was called Hubert sorta as a joke lmao. Basically my sibling joked that a lot of the character names I come up with are quite goofy (shes right lol) especially after I showed her all the splashtags I made for fun. So at some point I was designing my own versions of the agents and I made a really short agent 3 with a big forehead, a receding hairline and bad posture who acts like an edgy teen and gets bullied at school (I thought it would be intersting to make this kind of scrunkle) and I was like 'ok well this is HUBERT'. I will talk about him more/share some concept stuff another time to keep it short but hes inspired by gorillaz phase 1 and psychonauts, also he moves around /poses awkwardly like the spot in atsv, especially with the shoulder and neck posture.

I kept the naming for Neo quite easy, just Neo and simple as that. However my Neo 3 took this name because its quite mysterious, lacks any attatchment to gender (Neo is agender) and is better than their birth name. But now that I think about it, its a Matrix reference and Neo is a revolutionist who rejects the system! Neo is inspired by Hobie Brown in atsv and Mayday from No Straight Roads (and yes Neo's freinds are also NSR inspired too)

I had to come up with Teryon's name when naming some files of the first few drawings of him. The name sounds kinda serious but also the shortening to 'Terry' implies he is also casual, the average friendly guy. Terry also sounds kinda like 'teddy (teddy bear🥺)' to me but I didnt want to be too on the nose. I made him bc I wanted to make a fuzzy inkfish character since the ones I saw on this site looked really cool, also Mr. Grizz's boss fight attacks looked cool to me. Terry is inspired by music by Thundercat, Tame Impala, Childish gambino and Zuke from No Straight Roads

Ok so for this last one, TW fordeath, murder and a bit of gore because I will be mentioning the Ilead and Achilles/Hector stuff.

Anchilles (omg thx crystalmonk!) Is a name I definitely thought through, the 'Achilles' bit doesnt refer to a heel or anything but actually the character himself and the gruesone thing he did to Hector in the Ilead. Achilles is a Greek soldier and Homeric hero who killed Hector (a Trojan warrior) as revenge for killing his best bro (bit fruity ngl). He was so angry at Hector for doing this that he continued to beat his dead body and he cut holes in his ankles, tied rope through them and attatched the rope to his chariot so he could drag Hector as he charioted back to the Greek camp. So yeah, Achilles biting people ls ankles is a reference to that. The smallfry is inspired by King from the owl house and ellie from No Straight Roads (a little alligator with a helicopter for some reason).

Sorry for the late response to the latest chapter of FMN. Okay I feel like Luke deserves to get a punch in on Aemond when he gets his memories back, maybe a few actually for what Aemond said in the past, even if he was trying to cover up his heartbreak. Everything about Daemon’s POV is spot on and I love how you managed to accomplish that! So what I gathered is that Daemon is still the uncle of the Targtower kids and Rhaenyra is his first cousin, right? And my god, reading Luke’s files from the past was absolutely crushing. I really hope there’s a copy of that video on Luke’s mom or they find her because I feel like there will be a damning piece of evidence that might be key in Luke’s trial. I think I got all of the hints you dropped and let me tell you I am freaking out about what it all means and how it will all play out as the story continues. Also Aemma, love you lots, but not good timing. Excellent writing as always and much love!

Luke deserves to get in more than a punch after everything he’s been through both in the past AND the present. Anger is an understandable emotion and if anyone in owed to take a few hits out on their murderer it’s Luke. Regardless of the fact that deep down he still might want to give Aemond smooches.

Despite all of this I can’t help but feel that the saddest part is even if he beat Aemond black and blue, no physical hit could amount to even a fraction of the pain he’s experienced and will have to learn to work through in order to make life worth living. It’s the most bittersweet part of the whole story. Even when everything is set and done, everyone kisses and makes up and all that jazz, these things still happened to Luke and truly healing is a process that’ll take years.

I’m so happy that you liked Daemon’s pov! He’s such a hard character to make come to life from a realistic angle because he’s such a confusing man. He’s not a bad guy but he’s definitely no where near a good guy either. Its that perfect gray area which makes it hard to get a good read on him. He maims rapists which is amazing, but clearly has less than familial feelings for his 14yr old niece. He loves both of his wife’s and adores their children to death but had no problem killing his first wife who did nothing to him he give him the same attitude he gave her (in show canon at least since he wasn’t in the Vale when Rhae died in f&b) Yea, he killed a little boy, but this is a world that operates on rules similar to the old testament. An eye for an eye, a leg for a leg, a son for a son.

Personally I feel that some people either write him like a stereotypical evil villain while others make him too uncaring and laid back. So i’m glad that I hit that good spot in the middle.

You’re correct! His brother Travis is the green kids father making him their uncle while Rhaenyra is his first cousin on his aunts side. I wanted everyone to still have that close familial relationship by blood while still switching things up enough to make their new relation believable and fit the timeline.

There’s definitely a bigger plot playing out in the background and Luke’s mother is a key player. Everything from being the only person who knows Luke’s true father to getting that mysterious call from her his self-proclaimed sister and whatever lawyer was able to get her such a good get out of jail free card after how she treated Luke. Cathryne is an important puzzle piece who we can only hope will come out of hiding soon. (Or get dragged out 👀)

Daemon’s world is falling apart as he tries to piece together his newly found sons past while his smartest most mature kids have decided to do the most idiotic thing ever and sneak into a club and get sloppy drunk + start a fight all while knowing that Luke is knee deep in serious legal trouble. Now isn’t the greatest time for grandma Aemma to pull up with homemade chocolate chip cookies 😭

… I’m heaving… I’ve went on a tangent somewhere in my blog about when Mac was becoming a ‘thing’, teachers introduced us to the computer and actually taught us about it and how to use it. That was back in 4th grade… fast forward some years and the floppy disk was introduced to us, and we’d save files on it, now it’s a remembered as the ‘Save’ button on Microsoft…

throughout highschool, my class would hack or bypass the school’s network and knew how to get around its firewalls to use the internet to go on youtube to watch music videos and charlie the unicorn etc. I can’t tell you the amount of times the administrators had to strengthen their network security because people in my class figured out how to bypass it every time to access the internet just to listen to music and do fuck all instead of classwork lol this was back in the early 2000’s… I know of a group of guys who’d play Halo and they managed to get away with having it in the classrooms computers and had it saved but buried in countless folders until you reached the folder titled ‘the goods’ and then saved within several more folders until you reached the game lol and when the teacher would walk by they’d quickly change the screen. I don’t think not a lot of people know shortcut keys on a keyboard let alone how to get around a firewall nowadays…

when I was a Sophomore, a class opened up on how to learn how to type without looking at the keyboard (we were also taught us basic computer maintenance). At the end of the semester we had to type like 100+ to 200 WPM or something with no mistakes as a final test, and we’d get a certificate for it. It’s been years since I fully sat at a computer or laptop for hours on end typing, so my WPM is now like 70-80WPM… not as fast as I used to be. But I’m so grateful and glad I learned… seems like many in my generation not only knew how to harness a computer/laptop, but how to use it.

It makes me sad a lot of people have been let down and seeing the slow progression of people older and younger than me not knowing much about the devices they’re using… and not knowing how to maintain it either… I had to teach my younger cousins about the basic components that make their phone, computer and ipad function.

forgive me, but this all just baffles me… because folders, command prompt etc. feel not that long ago for me… but for those younger than me, it’s a thing of the past and something really old…

don’t get me started on the days of recording stuff (MANUALLY) on VHS and Cassette straight from the TV or radio lol and “burning” a CD for those we loved and decorating them with markers or sharpies, and sometimes it came with a list of songs or not. And when it didn’t, it would be a pleasant surprise lol the thrill if waiting to get home to play it in a boombox or computer, or after school or during lunch on a portable CD player lol

AJ “Six” Watanabe was a character i created for a short lived series focused on a group of friends from all sorts of walks of life who were nicknamed different numbers. six was a sixteen year old irish japanese immigrant to scotland who was staying in the city with his auntie and cousins after he ran away from his abusive home. six loves spending his time skating, learning new tricks and playing retro videos games on his late uncle’s consoles or at the city arcade where he often spends his time avoiding school. he acts only as a part time student due to his disabilities; severe dyslexia, nerve damage in his hands and bipolar disorder, and spends the other part of his time working shifts at the family corner shop and helping pick up rubbish at his favourite arcade. this allows him to spend time with his partner, nine, who also acts as a part time student. six suffered nerve damage to his back from an attack in his childhood which causes him to be unsteady on his feet and prone to falling. to support himself he uses a cane which he’s adorned with stickers.

six was the only character in the short lived series to be drawn but each character has their own semi-filled out fact file that i’ll post at some point. they’re all pretty outdated now lol.

So, for a fic, I needed to figure out what the state of the Gilchrist estate would be after the game, in the context of "Does Marian still have a roof over her head?" And I still don't know what happens in TOD2 (and do not wish to find out before playing it), so I don't have any canon to help me on this. But unwaveringblade said TOD2 doesn't really go into detail about it either so maybe the fans have put more thought into it than the actual writers lol

So I brainstormed with a friend for like 3 hours and we came up with a bunch of different outcomes like if an odd distant family member like a cousin or in-laws could inherit it, or if Rutee could prove her relation to Hugo and claim inheritance, or if Mictlan filed a new will to disinherit everything from everyone just to be a shithead… (or if Leon could possibly still claim any inheritance if he came crawling out of the ocean after miraculously surviving all on his own)

The state could just reclaim the land to use for something else. It could end up being auctioned off. Then someone new owns the manor and they could either fire all the staff and Marian needs to figure out what she's going to do or has already been forced to move on, or they keep the staff and maybe aren't great to them and Marian's not having a good time. Or Rutee claims it. Then she either lives there and does something?? to keep it going, sells it to someone who will treat Marian well (and leave Leon's shit alone for her since the whole reason she wants to stay at the manor is to keep things ready for Leon if he rises from the dead (Proust))…. or she swings her helped-save-the-world cred around to get it turned into a state-funded orphanage, then hands the deed to Marian and says have a nice life being a forever mama bird since your last baby fell out of the nest and drowned. I was going to settle on that one!

But she'd also probably inherit Oberon and whatever family fortune there was at that point. I don't think Mictlan was running the gig with the future in mind, so he probably didn't do a whole lot of saving. Y'know, just set aside a generous emergency safety net and put the rest into bribes and I guess back into the company. And Oberon was already in the shitter by the time she'd inherit it, and she'd probably be smart enough to see it's a sinking ship, so she'd sell everything about it for as much as she could and bail, then set all that money aside as emergency funds for either the Cresta or new Darilsheid orphanages in case state funding isn't enough one year or it gets cut like she's probably used to happening.

tbh I'm going to be so disappointed if there isn't at least some political intrigue in TOD2 lol
