I think a core memory of mine was when I was 13 and reading a Marvel fic. The tags and the description had me thinking, 'Tony looks at Steve's sketch book and realizes Steve is gay.' Great premise, right. Wrong. That is not what happened because the drawing was of a little girl, and Steve was a pedophile.

Another story since I seem to have things just kinda sent my way. My coworker, 45 yr old sweet redhead, is talking to me and suddenly goes : “oh my mother wanted me to ask you a question” , as her mother is almost 70 I said go ahead preparing for a simple ‘translate something to the older generation’ type question.

I don’t know how she learned of the term or how she began to question about it but her 70 year old mother really wanted me, and my apparent infinite knowledge, to tell her what a furry is and what they do. To make it better my coworker had left the word ‘furry’ in red ink on her hand to remind her, which she showed to me after i summarized what the furry community is to her.
