words: around 2,3k
notes: nanami kento.......this man is always on my mind. my roman impire. i just wanted to write something about him so bad oh my god (and i did it with not one but two hands wow) + english isn't my first language
it's friday night.
you close the apartment door behind you as you let out a deep sigh. this day was a hell on earth, you're sure of it. you awkwardly take off your heels, carelessly tossing them on the doormat — you'll put them away later, you're too tired to care about it. (kento will probably do it himself — he always looks after you and your belongings).
you ungraciously walk to the kitchen in this pencil skirt that doesn't allow you to take bigger than normal steps and put boxes with take out food on the counter. it's 9:41 pm. a bit earlier kento sent a message asking what would you want for dinner but you replied that you will get take out today — you know this week was just as hard for him as it was for you. probably even harder so you said he shouldn't cook tonight or he might pass out from standing too much.
you walk towards living room as it's the only room with a light on (you know it's the lamp near tv that gives off warm, not too bright light — kento's eyes can get really tired by the end of the day).
you immediately notice him as you enter the room and even in your tired state a small smile appears on your face. he's sitting on the floor, with his back supported by the couch and his head laying on the soft cushion. he's still in his work suit and white shirt (even though now his clothes are all wrinkled from the long day). you notice a bowl with water on the coffee table near by and a wet cloth covering his eyes. you can see that he noticed your presence as well, slightly turning his face to you. you take off your jacket and throw it on the couch as you make your way towards him and slide to the floor, pressing yourself against him.
you both sigh at the contact, finally reunited after this hell of a day. you gently take the wet cloth as you start carefully wipe the excess water on his face and throw it back in the bowl. kento opens his eyes, these hazel orbs looking at you lovingly as he says "welcome home, love". you smile as your palms find their place on his face, gently caressing his stubble. the sensation isn't unpleasant under your fingertips, but you'll help him to shave in the morning. now? you don't want to move from the floor at all.
you get closer to his face and kiss him softly — a completely chaste kiss, just to feel each over, to relax and ground yourselves. he answers willingly, his strong hands grabbing your waist, squeezing and pulling your body closer. he mumbles, a slight mischief in his voice, "tired day?". you giggle as you hide your face in his chest.
he knows it was. the whole week was busy — you with your additional project at work and kento wish missions, reports and meetings. you almost haven't seen each other at all this week, only exchanging quick sleepy kisses as kento was leaving too early in the morning for you to be up and you coming home too late to find him already sleeping in the bed. but it's friday. with whole two days of rest ahead.
so you say, quietly and smiling "a whole week, you can say". you massage the back of his neck, occasionally touching short hair of his undercut and he groans at the feeling. you ask him, unable to hide concern in your voice, "how are you feeling?". you know he works so hard sometimes, coming home with dark bags underneath his eyes and bruised body. he rolls his head back on the couch, closing his eyes, as he answers, "just tired. mission took longer than it was planned. but I'm unharmed".
you smile as your hands travel to his broad shoulders and god, you can't keep your hands off this man. even through layers of fabric you can feel his muscles and power hidden in his body. "can i do something? to help you to relax?"
kento is silent for a moment. "yes"
you angle your head, even if he can't see that. you hum, "hm?". you can make him his favourite tea or give him a massage (you read about it online just for him). so you expect something like that, not...
"sit on my face".
you blink several times and shake your head in disbelief. have you.... heard it correctly? "what?". suddenly, with his hands still on your waist, he tugs you closer and you almost fall on him but he holds you firmly but carefully like the most expensive treasure. your face is so close to his and he whispers into your lips, "sit on my face. please, love".
his hands start caressing your back, slowly running up and down, and your body runs hot on autopilot as a response to his touch. but then he kisses you and your mind goes blank — this kiss is nothing like the previous one. it's hot and wet as he licks your lips and his tongue enters your mouth. one of his hands presses your cheeks together, urging you to open your mouth wider and you comply as you moan instantly, feeling him sucking on your tongue.
he breaks a kiss and you look at him, breathless, your chest heaving, "i... i thought you were tired". he hums, his hot hands now exploring the front of your body through your work shirt — he slides them from your exposed neck to your breasts, palming them through your bra, lower to your soft stomach and then up again. "and this is exactly what will help me to relax".
you swallow hard. gosh, he's impossible. you use his shoulders for leverage as you try to get up, "okay, okay. just give me 10 minutes? I'll shower and then..."
"no. don't".
you look at him, puzzled, "hm? what? what do you mean?"
his wandering hands slide lower, gripping your ass as he says, "want you right now. here".
you smile at him, gently shaking your head, "kento, love, i took a shower in the morning but i spent the whole day on my feet, okay? I'm probably sweaty and...".
"and i want you just like that", kento's raspy voice interrupts you. you look at him, his gaze serious but full of desire and want, his pupils dilated with lust pooling in them. you whisper, "are you... are you sure?".
"yes, I'm sure".
you get up, still nervous but with unmistakable heat burning between your thighs. you start pulling your pencil skirt down as kento's hands gently brush against the back of your calfs. next, you tug down your sheer tights and simple cotton underwear and kento groans at the sight of your pussy, "fuck, thought about this beauty the whole week". he pulls you closer as he starts leaving hot wet kisses on your thighs, getting closer and closer to your heat. there, he inhales deeply and moans. you feel blood rushing to your face as you mumble, "kento, oh my god...".
he looks up at you with a small smile as he plants several kisses to the dark patch of hair. you moan — both at the feeling and how unbelievable he is — as you gently caress his hair. he rolls his head back, laying it on the couch and gently slaps your thighs, "come on. get on, love".
you silently follow his order, getting on the couch facing its back, with his head between your parted legs. his strong arms hug your thighs as he pulls you lower and lower until you're completely seated. a shudder runs through you at the feeling of his stubble gently brushing against the soft skin of your inner thighs.
you grip the back of the couch until it hurts a little as you feel his hot tongue pressed completely flat against your womanhood as he starts licking you. he sucks on your folds and teases your clit with a pointed end of his tongue — you start rocking involuntarily, but kento's hands just squeeze harder, locking you in the place.
you whine and mewl as he keeps licking, sucking and kissing — you're so wet you can hear slurps and squelches. you start impatiently unbuttoning your shirt, fingers shaking and not listening too well. halfway through, you grow annoyed and with just a half of buttons undone, you take it off through you head, throwing in on the couch somewhere. you quickly take off your bra and a loud moan erupts from you as you grab your tits, gently rolling perky nipples between your own fingers.
you whine and shut your eyes as you imagine what he looks like — still in his suit, with his incredible dick out, gently palming himself as he smears precum on the soft skin and brings you closer to the cloud 9 with his wonderful hot tongue.
kento's hands disappear from their place on your thighs and with newfound freedom you can't help but start riding his face, just a little, just a bit of back and forth. after a moment you hear a zipper being pulled down, rustling of fabric and feel kento letting out a dreamy sigh, hot air hitting your sensitive folds, as he starts stroking himself.
kento's free hand slides higher, joining yours in palming and massaging your tits as his wet tongue starts entering you that makes your thighs shake. he gently bites your folds and you arch with a loud mewl, parting your legs even wider in your attempt to get his face even closer to your heat. he pinches your nipples softly that earns a loud shriek from you and you can feel him smirking.
you get closer and closer to your orgasm from his skillful movements and as he angles his face so he good plunge his tongue deep into you with his nose pressing against your cute clit and you suddenly cum with a silent moan. your thighs press together, shaking, trapping his head between them but it seems he doesn't mind in the slightest as he eagerly drinks your juices, licking you clean.
you're panting like you just ran a maraphon as you guide your shaking hair to his head — still between your thighs — to softly pat his hair. you look down and by the creases around his eyes you know kento's smiling. you gigle as you get up with a wet sound and slide lower to find your place on his lap as he still slowly strokes himself.
you start unbuttoning his shirt as he keeps his pace — he's close, but he's not in a hurry. you kiss him, wet and hot, as you finally get your hands on his hard chest and stomach. you almost purr as your hands glide lower and accidently touch his hard cock. you smile in the kiss as you put your hand on top of his moving one, your fingertips gently carassing his hot dick. your other hand is softly rubbing his velvet skin, coated with a thin layer of sweat. you can feel a rapid heartbeat under your palm and the way his lungs expand with each inhale. you gently caress his hardened nipples and he groans in your mouth.
he lets go of the hold on the dick, allowing you to take the reins as his hands start touching your body, gently caressing your sides but almost aggresively grabbing and sqeezing your tits. you whine pitifully as you wrap your hand around him, gripping him firmly and stroking him fast — just the way kento loves. you break the kiss, you two looking at each other and breathing the same air. you feel muscles of his abs tightening under your fingertips as you whisper breathly, "like that?". he's nodding as he guides your body closer to him, your moving hand now trapped between your bodies. "yeah....fuck, yeah, like that. just.....just touch the head".
you hum and move your palm to the mushroom like head of his dick, wrapping a tight circle around it as you start stroking him there — firmly and vigorously. that earns you a low moan from kento as his head rolls back, exposing his sensetive neck and you can't help yourself as you start kissing his salty skin, marking him lightly and gently biting his adam's apple.
a minute later he groans, eyes shut and his body tensed, as he cums with his warm seed getting on his chest and stomach as well as your fingers. you slow down your movements, helping him to ride his high and milking him. after several moments you retrieve your hand to grab a wet cloth from the bowl. you clean your hand and carefully wipe kento's body as his tired gentle eyes follow your every movement. you throw it back in the bowl and he pulls you closer, his hands secure around your waist.
he kisses you then, deeply but without any heat — only love and gratitude. you gigle quietly, breaking the kiss and looking at him warmly. he smiles at you, "thank you, love".
"feel better?".
"so much better".
you raise your hands and stretch, muscles tensing for a moment but relaxing a second later. unbeknownst to you, kento's gaze glides on your body — soft tummy and the way your tits move. you're so beautiful. he kisses the place between your breasts and you laugh softly. he whispers, "i love you".
you gently caress his face, "love you too".
"shower?".
"oh my god, yes".
P.S. istg if he was real i would have to be put down like a feral animal.

I saw your "you came/you called" text post and it was really wholesome (if you ignore the idea that they paid for your stalker, anyway o-o)
It gave me a idea for a (preferably fem but also gn is ok) reader who grew up with a dad who wasn't protective and was like "you gotta protect yourself!" Which they are grateful for, it made them independent and strong. But the reader's dad was also, by proxy, told them to be brave. Which means if a guy cat calls you, you shouldn't be scared to speak back, if someone follows you, be brave and go home by yourself. When reader gets with (you can pick anyone from 141) they're not used to having someone who's ready to protect them and be brave for them. I just can't help but think about how comforting it is, cus it doesn't matter if you can protect yourself or not, it's still nice to have someone there, cus that's what truly makes you feel brave
The day I learn how to keep a consistent way of writing Johnny’s accent will be glorious but it’s not today I’m afraid
I’m imagining Johnny for this real hard. He doesn’t even say it outloud, doesn’t make a comment or mention or anything about it, about you being weaker than him or needing his protection- he simply is there each time, like it’s second nature for him.
“You know… you don’t have to walk me home each time, right?” You ask after a date, yet despite your words you are pressed right against Johnny’s side, content where you are. You haven’t had to look around discreetly, haven’t had to keep a hand in your purse holding on to your pepper spray.
Because Johnny is there.
“I ken,” he blinks at you, arm slung over your shoulder. He uses that same arm to pull you close and smooch your forehead, fingers playing with your jewelry. “But I want tae, bonnie.”
“You just want to?” You ask, surprised by his answer. But Johnny doesn’t seem mildly insulted by it.
“O’ course, dove,” he replies. “Ye’re strong as fuck, seen ye take doon men twice yer size, and I ken ye can protect yourself’ But I want you tae just relax when ye’re out with me. Let me take care o’ ye, alright?”
“…alright.”
And you do trust him to do exactly that; Johnny is like a pillar of strength and support, yet he does it without demeaning you. You don’t feel less when he does so; rather, you feel quite… safe. Safe in his arms, safe in the knowledge that he can be brave and strong for the both of you.

"Oh! Sorry, I thought you were someone else, you sounded like him." You blinked at the stranger. The guy laughed and shook his head, a drink in his hand. Between him and the bar counter, you suddenly felt very cornered and uncomfortable.
"I was wondering if I could buy you a drink?" He asked with a smile.
"No, thank you. I bought my own drink." You shook your glass with your drink, trying to slink away but with so many people crowding the bar, it was difficult.
"Ah, looks like I was too slow then. Can I at least have a drink with you then?" He laughed, trying to be nice.
"I really should be getting back to my friends. They are looking for me." You tried to go past him but he grasped your wrist tightly.
"You know, I tried being nice. It's not nice to be so unfriendly in a place like this." He chided, his tone suddenly changing. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Do you expect me to be honoured then? Doesn't mean you make advances means I have to accept them." You couldn't bite your tongue.
"You-" He was about to say something.
"(y/n), I've been looking for you." Now it was a familiar voice. You turned to Jihoon with a soft sigh of relief. Jihoon immediately wrapped his arm around you, pulling you to his side, glowering at the man who had let your wrist go. Looking up, you saw Hyunwoo standing there too.
"Got a problem here?" Hyunwoo raised an eyebrow. With his muscles, it was normal for the guy to be intimidated by him. You merely looked away, not saying anything.
"Let's go." Jihoon threw a last dirty look at the guy and escorted you back to the table.
"Are you okay?" He looked down at you with a frown.
"I'm fine, Jihoon. Don't worry, you and Hyunwoo came at the right time. Thank you." You smiled softly. He nodded with a hum and you went to sit down.
"I'm going to find Nana and Eve. We should go." Hyunwoo said, leaving before you could protest.
"No, it's fine! You guys should stay and enjoy yourselves. I think I'll go home." You told Jihoon, you felt bad that they had to leave.
"You shouldn't leave on your own. I'll take you home." Jihoon shook his head.
"The exit is just there. Really, I'll be okay, I'm sober to make it home on my own. Make sure Nana and Eve get home safely, hmm?" You squeezed his hand. Jihoon knew you were stubborn and reluctantly agreed. You wrapped an arm around him to hug him.
"Text me when you get home." He whispered.
"I will. Let me know when you guys are home too. And send me my portion of the bill." You hummed and grabbed your bag, heading to the exit.
"Thank you." You smiled to the bouncer who opened the velvet rope for you. He gave a nod in reply as you made your way out.
"Hey!" You were suddenly yanked away, causing you stumble. You came face to face with the man earlier.
"Oh, so where are your two friends, huh? They just left you on your own?" He sneered, getting close to your face. You leaned back as he was invading your space.
"Do you not know when to give up?" You tried to break free of his grip. You shoved him back, causing him to let go of your hand.
"You're going to pay for that. And for embarrassing me earlier." He growled.
"Leave me alone and maybe I won't go to the police." You glared at him. You were tired of arguing with him, you wanted to go home and he was seriously getting on your last nerve. But he shoved you against the wall harshly, making you let out a groan as the pain stunned your momentarily.
"I think that's enough." A voice entered and the man was grabbed by the collar, yanked back, away from you. You let out a shaky breath as a suit-clad body stood in front of you.
"H-Hongjoong..." You said shakily, looking at the back of his head. He didn't turn to look at you.
"I've watched you from earlier. You just don't know when to give up. Why don't I give you a taste of your own medicine?" He chuckled.
"H-Hey man. I was just fooling around, I'm sorry." The man took a step back in fear. Hongjoong merely laughed again before he stopped and punched the guy.
"Hongjoong!" You gasped in shock but he was not stopping, raining down punches on the man.
"Hongjoong, stop." You tried to call him.
At that point, it wasn't about saving you anymore. Hongjoong felt so much blind rage and he just couldn't stop. This man just appeared at the wrong place, at the wrong time and became the object for Hongjoong to vent his anger.
"Please." You sat on the ground, covering your ears and shutting your eyes. You were so stunned, you couldn't bring yourself to get up and leave the place.
"What's going on here?" Seonghwa came out, witnessing the scene in front of him.
"Hongjoong, what did you do?" He asked. That snapped Hongjoong out of it. He looked down at the guy's face that was bloodied.
"Shit..." He turned to see you absolutely horrified and terrified. Seonghwa frowned, unsure of what to do now. Luckily, Yunho was quick to go to your side.
"Hey, (y/n). It's me, Yunho." He gently removed your hands from your ears so you could hear him.
"Y-Yunho sshi." You stuttered, unable to breathe. Luckily, Yunho used his body to block your view. He smiled softly.
"Breathe. Let's go." He spoke softly, helping you to your feet. Your legs were so wobbly, you leaned on him, letting him guide you to wherever it was, as long as you were no longer here.
"Here." Once again, he led you up the stairs and brought you to an empty room. You figured it could be a place for VIPs to sit and drink but with all the lights on, it just looked like a regular room with couches. He grabbed a blanket from the basket and put it around you, hopefully it'll bring you some comfort.
"Let me go get you some water. Breathe, it's okay." He said. You nodded slowly, not being able to tell him you wanted him to stay.
"Be right back." He stood up and left the room to get water.
"Yun, what's happening?" Mingi asked his best friend, having bumped into him as he left the room you were in. As he walked to get you water, Yunho filled Mingi in on what happened.
"Damn... So where's the girl now?" Mingi questioned.
"In the room I came from. I left Seonghwa hyung with Hongjoong hyung. I think they'll need a clean up crew." Yunho said.
"On it." Mingi took his phone out and texted for a clean up crew. When Yunho retrieved a cold bottle of water for you, the two went back upstairs.
"I'll go let the others know what happened." Mingi said and parted ways with Yunho, who went back to you.
"I'm so sorry, Yunho sshi. This is all my fault, Hongjoong sshi was just trying to help me. If the owner asks what happened, just tell them it was all me. I didn't mean to cause trouble." You told the male the moment he entered the room.
"(y/n) sshi, it's not your fault, you didn't cause any trouble. And don't worry about Hongjoong hyung. He won't get in trouble with the owner." Yunho assured, opening the bottle for you.
"You're sure?" You asked, gulping the cold water.
"Seeing as to how he's the owner, I'm sure he'll be fine." Yunho tried to joke. Your jaw slacked slightly in surprise.
"So don't worry about him. Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" Yunho questioned. You shook your head, hands shaking slightly as you clutched the blanket.
"It could be the adrenaline, that's why you don't feel any pain even if you are injured." He said.
"I-Is Hongjoong okay?" You finally asked.
Yunho was surprised by your question. He thought after what you witnessed, you would have asked whether the other guy was okay. If you did, Yunho wouldn't know how to answer that, he didn't know if the guy made it out alive. Maybe the realisation of what actually happened hasn't sunken in for you yet.
"Feel better?" Seonghwa asked, the smoking cigarette between his fingers. Hongjoong blinked then shrugged, it did feel good to vent his emotions out.
"Should have just went to the fight club." He shot his best friend a small smile.
"Clean up crew is coming. We should head in." Seonghwa said and Hongjoong nodded, standing straight and heading in with him.
"Where's (y/n)?" Hongjoong asked.
"Yunho brought her to one of the rooms to calm her down. Mingi's the one that called clean up." Seonghwa informed, walking up the stairs with his hands tucked into his pockets.
"I should find (y/n) and talk to her." Hongjoong said as Seonghwa opened the door to the VIP room that the others were in.
"Hyung, are you okay?" San stood up.
"I'm fine. I can't say the same for the other guy though." Hongjoong nodded his head, taking the glass of whiskey Wooyoung offered to him and took a sip. The other guys all had had relieved looks on their faces while some even laughed.
"Let me go find (y/n)." Hongjoong turned to the door and almost bumped into Yunho, who was entering the room.
"(y/n)'s looking for you..." Yunho informed. At Yunho's words, the rest of the people in the room, including Hongjoong, had surprised looks on their faces.
"She is?" Hongjoong blinked. Yunho nodded and held the door open for him, pointing to where you were.
"(y/n) sshi? Can I come in?" Hongjoong knocked. He heard the soft hum from you and entered, closing the door behind him.
"Are you alright?" He asked softly, approaching your huddled form.
"I-I'm fine. But Yunho sshi thinks it could be a-adrenaline." You tried to look okay but Hongjoong could see how much you were trembling. He sat by you, where Yunho sat earlier.
"Drink this. It'll help." He held out the whiskey glass from his hand. With two shaky hands, you received the crystal glass and carefully took a sip. You winced at the burn and bitterness that hit your tongue. Hongjoong thought you were going to hand it back to him but you suddenly gulped the rest down.
"Woah, slow down." Taking the glass from you, he gave you the bottle of water from the table.
"What about y-you? Are you okay? W-Were you hurt?" You asked with a gulp, eyes trailing to the bruises on his knuckles. Hongjoong nodded his head.
"You are hurt." Hongjoong caught sight of your bruised wrist as you capped the waterbottle. You blinked and looked at your wrist.
"Oh." You looked at it.
"Hang on." Standing up, Hongjoong went to the door and yelled out for someone to get him a first aid kit. You couldn't see who it was but Hongjoong took the first aid kit from someone and returned to you.
"It's just a bruise..." You whispered. Hongjoong placed the first aid box on the table and opened it.
"I guess I wish I had the balm you made." Hongjoong tried to joke about small pot of homemade balm that you had given him.
"Y-You still have it with you?" You couldn't help your curiosity. Hongjoong hummed, his ears turning red. He held his hand out for you to show him your wrist. He was gently in applying a regular ointment over your wrist and wrapping it so it wouldn't smudge.
"Thank you, Hongjoong sshi." You said softly, looking at the bandage he tried his best to wrap neatly.
"No problem. It's the least I could do since you were injured in my establishment." Hongjoong replied, keeping the first aid stuff back into the box.
"It's okay, it's not your fault..." You murmured.
"I think I should go home now." You stood up and nearly fell over, feeling the throb in your ankle.
"Woah, careful." Hongjoong caught you, resulting in you leaning against his body, your face pressed into his chest. You winced as you tried to stand back up.
"Where are you hurt?" Hongjoong frowned with worry.
"It's fine. It's just my ankle." You tried your best to hide the pain but Hongjoong could see the grimace of pain.
"No, it's not fine. Let me get it checked out. Or at least sit down and ice it for a bit before you go." He insisted with a small frown. You chewed on your bottom lip. Being here was slowly making you feel more stressed and anxious, right now you just wanted to get out of here and go home.
"Hongjoong sshi. Please... I just want to go home." Tears filled your eyes. You couldn't control the way they fell down your face, they were not stopping.
"Alright, I'll take you home." He whispered, suddenly feeling a tightness in his chest from guilt as he watched you cry.
"Come on." Putting your arm around his shoulders, he helped you out of the room and down the stairs.
"Boss." The workers bowed to him as you passed them but he didn't acknowledge them. He led you to the VIP entrance in the back where the car was already waiting for you.
"Mr Kim." The driver opened the door for both of you. Hongjoong helped you in and removed his jacket, draping it over your lap.
"Hongjoong hyung." Yeosang called out to him just as he closed the door.
"I'm taking her home." Hongjoong informed. The 7 of them nodded and Hongjoong entered the other side to sit with you. You wiped your remaining tears with your hands, sniffling slightly.
Thankfully, Hongjoong didn't talk to you the rest of the trip home. You were so tired but your mind was racing. Whatever happened tonight has never happened to you before, you didn't know what to do and how to react.
"(y/n) sshi... We're here." His voice made you jump slightly. You blinked and looked up, seeing that you were indeed outside your apartment building.
"Oh... Thanks." You removed his jacket from your lap and got out of the car, standing on both legs.
"Let me escort you up, at least." Hongjoong came out from his side of the car.
"N-No, it's okay. I'd rather go up on my own." You shook your head. Hongjoong sighed and nodded his head, realising that he might be pushing you too much.
"Look, (y/n) sshi. I'm sorry about tonight and-"
"If it's okay with you, I would not like to think or revisit what happened tonight." You cut him off with a polite smile.
"Right..." He nodded. You cleared your throat and bowed gratefully to him before limping into your apartment building. Hongjoong stood there, making sure you went in safely before going into the car.
You entered your apartment and made sure to lock the door, leaning against the front door with a sigh. The first thing you did was text your friends that you were home. They may give you hell for texting them so late but you knew that they were just good friends and worried about you.
"Oh god..." You covered your mouth as you started to remember what happened tonight.
"What have I gotten myself into?" You asked yourself in disbelief. Did Mrs Kim know about Hongjoong and not tell you? Was there an underlying motive in getting to know you?
But what would Mrs Kim or Hongjoong want with you?
"No, no. Maybe she didn't know." You shook your head. Give wanted to give Mrs Kim the benefit of doubt.
"My son, he can be short tempered but underneath, he's just trying to protect everyone that he loves." Mrs Kim smiled softly as you poured more tea for her.
"He's a good son then." You hummed.
"He is. Even if I have a lot of faults and haven't been the best mother to him, he grew up to be a good man." She said.
"I hope you two can reconcile soon. It seems like you had a good relationship." You reached over to hold her hand. Mrs Kim merely shot you a sad smile that showed she thought otherwise.
"Maybe." Was all she said.
Hongjoong stood by his office window, staring out into the night sky. He sipped the whiskey from his glass, a soft sigh escaping him. As the leader of Ateez, he was never really open with his feelings. He didn't really like to feel vulnerable around anyone.
"You've been keeping everything in. So I guess it could have happened at any time when all your feelings come pouring out." Seonghwa said, sitting on the couch.
"It's annoying." Hongjoong sighed.
"Well, you're human, Joong. Even if you don't like your feelings, they'll always be there." Seonghwa chuckled.
"I don't even know her. But whenever she's around, I feel so conflicted. I'm angry and a part of me wants to resent her but I also want to talk to her." Hongjoong turned away from the window.
"Because whether you want to admit it or not, you want to know more about your mother." Seonghwa pointed out.
"This is so unnecessary, I don't need this." He groaned.
"But it is what it is. If you were to sit with her and learn more about your mother, can you say for certain that you'll be able to control your emotions?" Seonghwa asked.
"No. The mere mention of my mother by her makes me so..." Hongjoong clenched his fists.
"I'm not ready to hear what a wonderful person my mother was." He said bitterly.
"Then stay away until you are. Don't forget, it's not just about you. She has to be ready to hear your side too. To hear what your mother did to you and what your relationship was like." Seonghwa reminded. Hongjoong nodded glumly, that was another thing he didn't want to bring to the surface again.
"Look, after tonight, give her space to breathe. We just have to focus on other work for now, Ateez needs you." Seonghwa squeezed Hongjoong's shoulder.
"Mmm, I know. Thanks for holding down the fort, Seonghwa ah." Hongjoong shot his friend a smile.
"Of course. We're all behind you, supporting you, Joong." The taller hummed.
"She's not from our world, our normal is not her normal. And the less people in our world, the better." Seonghwa reminded. Hongjoong agreed, they've become so desensitised to violence and death.
"I'm worried that my mother's relationship with her has pulled her into our world, whether she wants it or not." Hongjoong said.
"Maybe, maybe not." Seonghwa shrugged.
Although Seonghwa didn't want to push Hongjoong to work more when he was already such a workaholic, he knew Ateez will serve as a distraction from you.
"About the guy from earlier..." Hongjoong's voice broke Seonghwa's train of thought.
"He's alive, in the hospital. But the police won't be investigating, they're just ruling it as a bar fight gone wrong. Even if he wanted to press charges, he can't argue against multiple eye witnesses." Seonghwa said, a glint in his eye.

As always many thoughts...
You laughed at his unexpected response as he ran his rough fingers along Rose's fuzzy hair. "Don't forget about the seafood platters." "Sweetheart, I'll never forget about the seafood platters," he promised, turning to look at you as his head sank back against the couch.
Of course he wouldn't 😅
"I am." His brown eyes remained fixed on yours. "I am. I told you I was. I want them close, but not too close. Like, I don't want them next door where they can hear me call you my filthy little slut or something." "Bradley," you said, laughing again as he took Rose in his hands to burp her. "They don't need to know the ins and outs of how you call me Daddy while you're gagging on my cock either." He kissed the baby on her forehead. "Sorry, Nugget. I'll teach you one day how babies are made, and you'll probably cringe the whole time."
Hahah this whole conversation cracked me up 😂
You couldn't believe how quickly he shut it down. "It was just an idea," you mumbled, watching him snuggle the baby. "So you wouldn't have to miss Rose the whole time while you're away."
Ok rude of Bradley, it was just a nice thought 🙄😒
You nodded and hummed, lips brushing the scars on his neck. "I'm just happy you remembered." "Sweetheart, I remember everything," he promised. "And I propose that we plan a trip for the three of us before the year is over. We can go anywhere you and the Nugget want."
🥰🥰
"We'll be fast," he replied confidently, turning off the stove burner. "You're never fast! You like to linger!" "It's a new era, Baby Girl. The mom and dad era. I'll learn how to be quick so we can finish before she wakes up."
Haha I can't with him
"Oh, I love this so much," he whined as his other fingers found your clit. "I'm not happy about making this quick. I might need more later."
Of course he does 🤭
He could already hear Rose getting restless in the nursery down the hallway, her soft cries ramping up as Bradley slammed his cock into his wife. He wanted to make sure he got you off before he was done, but then you went and said something so hot, he knew he wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer. "I could always nurse you later if you want." "I take it you're interested in my offer." "Absolutely," he rasped, pulling his pants up so he could go say hi to his daughter. "If I ever say no to your tits, something is definitely wrong, Baby Girl. That would be your cue to take me out back and finish me off."
🤭🤭🤭
"When's the wedding?" you asked Jake as you dropped your tray next to his at lunch. He was eating the most delicious looking burger and a slice of pizza, and your soup and salad looked pitiful next to them. Seemingly no matter what you did, you'd stopped losing weight since the baby was born, and right now you were so exhausted, you couldn't even think about starting an exercise regimen.
Oh no, she is too hard on herself 🥺
"We've been engaged less than a month," Jake drawled, shoving some of the accompanying fries into his mouth. "Maybe some of us can wait a little longer to get hitched than your husband could, Angel."
Oh don't act like a saint Jake, we all know you wanna marry her sooner rather than later an if Cat had a buch of trauma and needs time because of that, they would have been married already 😅
Jake heaved a deep sigh, dragging a fry through ketchup. "He already calls me 'dad'. His speech was delayed, but it was still one of his first words, probably because I was around so much. I want to make sure Cat's ex doesn't get any rights, and if that means I need to hire another legal team before we get married, then so be it."
Dad Jake 🥹🥰
Maybe you could just get pizza. But you shouldn't. But it sounded so good as you watched Jake eat his. But your hips and belly were already so big, you couldn't let yourself.
Maybe maybe there is something else going on, hmm 🤭
"You look like a DILF."
He sure does 😌
"Be honest, how many of these do you think I'll need?" You snorted. "Unless every night is happy hour at the Copacabana, probably none. But knowing you, I'd pack at least two."
Hahaha this is so Bradley 😅
"This sucks," Bradley said for probably the hundredth time in the past hour. Standing at the curb at San Diego International Airport with a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter, being forced to leave them for a week, was actually awful. He didn't want to go. He wanted to continue to cradle Rose against his chest with his arm wrapped around you until he missed his flight. "You need to go or you'll miss your flight. And then Mav will be on my case about it."
He just loves to be with his girls 🥰
Before he ducked inside, he cupped his free hand to his mouth and shouted, "I love you!" He watched you blow him a kiss and then pull away from the curb before he headed to the counter to drop off his bag.
🥰🥰🥰
To his absolute delight, all he had to do was ask nicely and flash his most charming smile, and he was handed the keys to a brand new, black Bronco. It was a model year newer than your red one back at home, and he was excited to scrutinize all of the little differences as he drove it around for the week.
He is living his best life 😅
Was he really that guy? Did he already miss his kid enough that he had to open up the photo gallery in his phone and scroll through a few pictures before he could drive away?
Yes, he absolutely 100% is
"Lieutenant Commander Bradshaw," she said, eyes snapping back up to meet his. "All the way from Top Gun. I've been waiting to meet you for weeks, Sir."
Oh oh this feels like trouble 😬🫣
Aim for the Sky Part 27 | Rooster x Reader

Aim for the Sky masterlist. This was written to accompany my series Is It Working For You? along with a bunch of my one-shots and other series, but it can be read on its own! Check my masterlist for the reading order.
Once again, your parents extended their stay to spend more time with Rose, but when they finally flew back to Maryland, it felt strange to be on your own with your daughter. You and Bradley fell into a regular routine once more, but it took him days before he came clean about being stressed out. When he got home late from work to find you on the couch feeding Rose, you could tell by the set of his shoulders that he'd had a long day.
"Can we talk about some things?" he asked, bending to untie his boots. You'd been wanting him to confide in you for days, but you were already exhausted again from the late night feedings and had pushed the comments Bradley made to Jake to the back burner.
"What's on your mind?" you asked, secretly pleased that he leaned down to give you a long, needy kiss, complete with his big hand on your neck, before kissing Rose as she ate. It had been a few days since you and he were intimate, and your body was already responding to him as he dropped down on the couch next to you.
"Can we just move to La Jolla? Nothing stresses me out when we have copious amounts of champagne and oral sex."
You laughed at his unexpected response as he ran his rough fingers along Rose's fuzzy hair. "Don't forget about the seafood platters."
"Sweetheart, I'll never forget about the seafood platters," he promised, turning to look at you as his head sank back against the couch. "Your mom and dad are serious about moving out here."
Your smile started to fade away. "Yeah, Roo. They are. And I thought you were pleased by that fact."
"I am." His brown eyes remained fixed on yours. "I am. I told you I was. I want them close, but not too close. Like, I don't want them next door where they can hear me call you my filthy little slut or something."
"Bradley," you said, laughing again as he took Rose in his hands to burp her.
"They don't need to know the ins and outs of how you call me Daddy while you're gagging on my cock either." He kissed the baby on her forehead. "Sorry, Nugget. I'll teach you one day how babies are made, and you'll probably cringe the whole time."
You sighed and reached for Bradley, cupping his jaw in your hand and stroking his mustache with your thumb. "My parents are seriously getting their house ready to sell. So just give it to me straight."
He nodded. "I don't want them over here all the time, okay? I love them, I really do, but they take over our house when they come. And even though we finished the attic so they could have a place to stay when they're here, Rosie can move her bedroom up there when she's older. So it wasn't a waste of time since the contractor saw your tits."
"It was a photo of my tits! I didn't just whip them out for him to see!" Now Bradley was laughing as you said, "It sounds like you're worried about having some boundaries if my parents become our new neighbors."
"Yes," he replied, nodding as you ran your fingers along his jaw. "That."
"I'm sure we can have a conversation with them and address all of your concerns." Rose seemed to be done burping, and you were treated to the view of Bradley cuddling your four month old against his chest. "Now, can you tell me what else made you have a bad day at work?"
"What makes you think I had a bad day?" he asked, placing soft kisses on Rose's cheek. "I could never have a bad day when I get to come home to my girls." You sighed as he ran his nose along her hair and inhaled deeply before he met your gaze. "Okay. It's not the end of the world, but Mav informed me that I need to take a trip to the Naval Airstation in Fort Worth. I don't really have any details yet."
"Okay," you replied softly, finally voicing what had been on your mind. "Well, maybe Rose and I can come with you for a few days? I can't remember exactly how much vacation time I have left, but it could be fun. And you did say the next trip should be for the three of us to enjoy together."
Bradley shrugged and immediately said, "Fort Worth in August? Baby Girl, it's going to be miserably hot. I know you, for some reason, miss the east coast humidity, but this is going to be gross. Ask Jake about it, he's from that ridiculous state."
You couldn't believe how quickly he shut it down. "It was just an idea," you mumbled, watching him snuggle the baby. "So you wouldn't have to miss Rose the whole time while you're away."
His head tipped back as he sighed. "I'm taking this new position so I can hopefully deploy less often and be here more later on. Even if I have to start working longer days, a week or two away from home is nothing compared to five months."
You bristled. "I understand that, Roo. We've talked about this so much. But maybe try to be a little bit more patient with the idea of my parents moving here so I can have a support system when you're busy?"
When you stood and rushed toward the bedroom, Bradley was right behind you, hand reaching out to grab your shoulder while he still held Rose tight. "Are you mad at me?"
Your stomach roiled with irritation, annoyance and disdain. You hated when you got like this, because he was the one who could bring out the best and also the worst in you. "I don't know."
-------------------------------
You were kind of quiet at home. Bradley hated it. You were a bit more vocal during sex, but that certainly didn't make him feel any better about the rest of it.
"I have my dates for Fort Worth," he informed you when he strolled in from work with some yellow flowers and a new book for Rose. Today was important to him. He wasn't sure you'd remember why, but he still wanted to acknowledge it.
"When?" you asked, continuing to make dinner while he looked around for the baby. "She's napping in her crib," you added, seemingly knowing he always wanted his daughter nearby.
"Second week of August," he replied. "So, pretty soon. But just for a week." You nodded as Bradley walked closer, and he realized what you were cooking. "Marry Me Rooster?"
"Yeah." Your voice was soft as you looked at him over your shoulder. You were also still wearing your khaki uniform, and he could tell you were tired. He was tired, too, but he wanted things to feel more natural around here again. He didn't want to accept that this was just how things would be now when the two of you were taking turns getting up with Rose all the time.
He wished he hadn't made such a fuss about your parents, because he really did love them, and it would be nice to have some help occasionally. And now he felt like you were continually annoyed with him, and he had to figure out a way to fix this.
Your voice broke into his thoughts. "It's kind of a special day?"
You sounded unsure. Like you thought maybe he didn't remember. But a smile immediately found his lips, and he gestured to the flowers. He should have known you'd remember. You remembered everything. You just made him a seafood platter to celebrate Carole's birthday the other day.
"I proposed two years ago." You visibly relaxed at his words as you took the flowers in your hands. He stroked the diamond ring on your finger as he said, "I couldn't wait another minute after I found this in the storage unit. I needed you to wear it. I needed you to say yes." You melted into his arms, and he kissed your forehead. "Can I go ahead and propose something else right now?"
You nodded and hummed, lips brushing the scars on his neck. "I'm just happy you remembered."
"Sweetheart, I remember everything," he promised. "And I propose that we plan a trip for the three of us before the year is over. We can go anywhere you and the Nugget want."
Your eyes lit up as he cupped your perfect cheek in his hand. "I have so many ideas, Roo."
"I knew you would. Can I make another proposal?" When you raised one eyebrow, he whispered, "How about we mess around before Rose wakes up?"
He was already wrapping his arms around you, turning you toward the hallway when you said, "But what about dinner?"
"We'll be fast," he replied confidently, turning off the stove burner.
"You're never fast! You like to linger!"
"It's a new era, Baby Girl. The mom and dad era. I'll learn how to be quick so we can finish before she wakes up."
This was the closest thing to a true quickie Bradley had experienced in a long time. Maybe ever. You were pushed up against the wall just inside the bedroom, belt jingling with your pants down around your thighs. He was going hard at a nice, steady pace with his hand inside your bra. Your warm milk dripped between his fingers and along his palm as he whimpered.
"Oh, I love this so much," he whined as his other fingers found your clit. "I'm not happy about making this quick. I might need more later."
He could already hear Rose getting restless in the nursery down the hallway, her soft cries ramping up as Bradley slammed his cock into his wife. He wanted to make sure he got you off before he was done, but then you went and said something so hot, he knew he wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer.
"I could always nurse you later if you want."
When he came, his vision flooded with dizzying color. Bradley lapped your milk from his hand, moaning your name as his hips eventually slowed. Rose was wailing now as you bent down to pull your pants up, cum dripping down your inner thighs as you looked at him with a little grin.
"I take it you're interested in my offer."
"Absolutely," he rasped, pulling his pants up so he could go say hi to his daughter. "If I ever say no to your tits, something is definitely wrong, Baby Girl. That would be your cue to take me out back and finish me off." You laughed when he said, "Happy engagement anniversary. I'll go take care of the Nugget."
-----------------------------
"When's the wedding?" you asked Jake as you dropped your tray next to his at lunch. He was eating the most delicious looking burger and a slice of pizza, and your soup and salad looked pitiful next to them. Seemingly no matter what you did, you'd stopped losing weight since the baby was born, and right now you were so exhausted, you couldn't even think about starting an exercise regimen.
"We've been engaged less than a month," Jake drawled, shoving some of the accompanying fries into his mouth. "Maybe some of us can wait a little longer to get hitched than your husband could, Angel." You rolled your eyes dramatically at him, but you were fighting a smile. "I'm trying my best to make sure that everything is in order for Jeremiah, if I'm being honest."
"Like what?" you asked, blowing on a spoonful of your soup.
Tears stung your eyes as you patted his cheek gently. You knew you were lucky that you and Bradley were together and that he would do anything to take care of his child, but right now you were just so happy for Jeremiah. "He's such a sweet kid, Jake. And you love him so much."
"I do," he replied before taking an enormous bite out of his burger. You let him chew in silence while you picked at your lunch. Right now, you really wished Bradley was here, but the chances of him showing up were slim when he was out shadowing Maverick again. He was leaving in a few days for Texas, and you were feeling pretty emotional. It would just be you and Rose at home for a whole week by yourselves.
"Well, if you're looking for a nice venue, I know a good parking lot."
Jake barked out a laugh. "There's too much sentimental Bradshaw bullshit in that parking lot. No way I'd be allowed to get married there."
Then Cat showed up, and Jake's attention immediately shifted to her. You poked your salad around on your plate, wondering why you were so damn tired. You still had four more hours of work to get through before you had to pick Rose up and make dinner. Maybe you could just get pizza. But you shouldn't. But it sounded so good as you watched Jake eat his. But your hips and belly were already so big, you couldn't let yourself.
Your afternoon was filled with checking code that someone in Annapolis had entered, and they'd done a really shitty job. When you left your office, your eyes were tired, and you could feel yourself caving. You ordered a pizza and picked it up on your way home with Rose. Then you ate half of it on the couch while you fed her. And when you were done, you really wanted to cry, because you didn't know why you couldn't control yourself right now.
"I'm starving," Bradley groaned when he walked in. "You got pizza?" he asked, shoving two slices stacked up on top of each other into his mouth and moaning. Then he dropped down onto the couch and polished them off while you switched Rose to your other side. "I need to remember to pack my dress blues for Fort Worth."
"Why?"
Bradley shrugged and reached for the next slice. "Apparently, there's some sort of reception for the aviators that are selected for Top Gun in the fall. I don't know how much sway I'll have, but I'm really hoping I can pick some good ones for the next generation of the program since I'm aging out."
"You're not aging out, Roo!" you gasped. "You chose a different career trajectory!"
"I mean..."
"Stop. You're not old. Don't even try to tell me you're old."
"I'll be forty soon."
"You're thirty-eight."
"That's almost forty."
"You look like a DILF."
He reached for the last slice of pizza, folded it up and ate it while he reached for Rose. Like usual, she curled up on her father. Her features looked so much like his, but he was always the first one to argue with you about that, so you said nothing while he chewed up his food.
"I need you to help me pack for hot as hell Texas. I'm thinking just shorts besides my flight suits and uniforms?"
"I'll help you as soon as Rose goes to sleep for the night."
Bradley took the reins for the rest of the evening while you tried not to fall asleep before the baby. That was much easier said than done, but at least Bradley supervised tummy time while Tramp licked Rose, and then he gave her a bath. He read bedtime stories and changed her into pajamas so you didn't have to, gently setting her in her crib before joining you where you sat in bed yawning.
"You okay?" he asked, brushing his lips along your cheek before heading to the closet to start pulling out clothes to pack.
"Yeah. I just wish I didn't order the pizza, because it's empty calories, and it probably made me feel worse and more exhausted in the long run."
"But it was delicious," he muttered, piling up some of his favorite tropical print shirts. "Be honest, how many of these do you think I'll need?"
You snorted. "Unless every night is happy hour at the Copacabana, probably none. But knowing you, I'd pack at least two."
"See, you understand," he muttered with a smile as you chose two of your favorites and handed them to him. It was strange watching him load things into a duffle bag for something other than a deployment or special mission. You knew exactly how long he'd be gone. You knew it was just for a week and that he could FaceTime you and Rose whenever he wanted to, but it still felt like you were sending him away.
"We're going to miss you."
He immediately tossed the bag onto the floor and joined you in bed. "Don't cry, Baby Girl," he whispered, swiping at tears you hadn't realized were already filling your eyes. "I'll barely be gone at all. And I don't even have to finish packing tonight. I can do it later."
You nodded and let him envelope you in his warmth. That's how you eventually fell asleep.
----------------------------------
"This sucks," Bradley said for probably the hundredth time in the past hour. Standing at the curb at San Diego International Airport with a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter, being forced to leave them for a week, was actually awful. He didn't want to go. He wanted to continue to cradle Rose against his chest with his arm wrapped around you until he missed his flight.
"You have to go now so hopefully you can do this less frequently in the future," you whispered, voice shaky with emotion. You looked really tired, and Bradley knew you wouldn't get much of a break this week. That's why he'd arranged for Nat to check on you at home a few times whether you wanted her to or not.
"Count on it, Sweetheart," he murmured, placing kisses to Rosie's soft hair as her little fingers poked at the insignia pins on his uniform. "And I need you to be a perfect Nugget for Mommy. I'll call later tonight after I get settled in the barracks."
"Okay." Your voice was muffled as you buried your face against his neck. "I love you."
"I love you both," he promised, collecting his final kisses from Rose before buckling her into her car seat in the back of the red Bronco. Then he got a particularly filthy kiss from you that left both of you grinning before you started to shove him toward the airport entrance.
"You need to go or you'll miss your flight. And then Mav will be on my case about it."
Before he ducked inside, he cupped his free hand to his mouth and shouted, "I love you!" He watched you blow him a kiss and then pull away from the curb before he headed to the counter to drop off his bag.
He hated traveling like this, in his uniform. It felt like everyone milling around, trying to check their bags, was looking at him. He was only wearing it today, because he wasn't sure what to expect when he arrived at a base he'd only visited one time years ago. The last thing he wanted was to seem unprepared in front of an admiral, so he wore his khakis as a precaution.
"Lieutenant Commander. Where are you headed?" asked the airline agent when she looked at his pins.
Impressed, he replied, "Dallas-Fort Worth."
She took his duffle, wished him a good flight, and then Bradley slept for the entire time he was in the air. Maybe you weren't the only one who was exhausted, because the nap seemed to do wonders for him. He woke up feeling rested, and just as soon as he sent a text letting you know he landed, he was off in search of a rental car.
To his absolute delight, all he had to do was ask nicely and flash his most charming smile, and he was handed the keys to a brand new, black Bronco. It was a model year newer than your red one back at home, and he was excited to scrutinize all of the little differences as he drove it around for the week.
"Don't like the lack of a car seat," he muttered, tossing his bag onto the backseat where he was so used to seeing Rose's infant carrier.
Was he really that guy? Did he already miss his kid enough that he had to open up the photo gallery in his phone and scroll through a few pictures before he could drive away? Apparently he was, and it made him ache to be away from her. This was so much worse than going to La Jolla without his daughter, because right now, he had neither of you.
When his stomach started rumbling for dinner, he drove to the barracks and showed his identification, only to be told his room wasn't ready yet. So he went right back out to the Bronco in search of dinner. He knew the name of a tavern popular with officers in the area, so he typed it into his GPS and headed in the direction it told him. He had to laugh, figuring he was about to walk into the Lone Star version of the Hard Deck, but that's kind of what he wanted right now. Dinner somewhere that felt comfortable if not familiar.
"Oof." It looked like a dump compared to his bar at home, but it seemed popular, and he was hungry enough that it didn't matter. When he walked in, he took a quick survey of the space before grabbing an empty stool at the bar. He ordered your favorite beer and a sandwich and took his phone out, careful not to set it on the bar in case the owner was part of some sort of association along with Penny.
He tried reading an article, but he felt as though he was being watched. Bradley tried to ignore it, fairly certain he didn't know anyone on base here, but the feeling nagged at him while he ate. The twang of music playing on the jukebox was distracting, but not distracting enough. When he finished his food and wiped his mouth with a napkin, he picked up his bottle and drained the rest of his beer while he glanced around.
Then he saw a young woman in a flight suit playing pool not too far from his spot at the bar. Her bright blue eyes were focused on his face, and her lips curled into a grin before she bent to sink her shot. Her patches told him she originated from Virginia Beach like he did, and that her call sign was Indigo. As Bradley turned, ready to sign his bill and leave, he saw her approach out of the corner of his eye.
"Can I help you?" he asked, turning her way again with one eyebrow raised. She was attractive, even up close, and he remained silent while her gaze traveled from his face down to his chest where his name tag was displayed. Then she gasped in delight.
"Lieutenant Commander Bradshaw," she said, eyes snapping back up to meet his. "All the way from Top Gun. I've been waiting to meet you for weeks, Sir."

I debated if I wanted to mock this post/screenshot for a couple hours and i decided I was just gonna go in line by line and dissect it
"being poly is a choice you make. not an identity you cannot change."
I disagree. I struggled with this through most of my teens and early twenties. The desire to be with multiple people was strong and the concept that I couldn't be with all of them was very confusing and hurtful not just to me, but the people I was with. Had I been taught what polyamory is younger and had known that monogamy is not actually the only way you're allowed to be, i'd have probably been able to stop struggling with this much sooner. Do I think this was as big of a mental struggle as being gay or trans? Nah. But it was certainly an issue that ate away at me.
As much as polyamory was a choice, so was me being trans was a choice. I would say both are inherent to who I am. Just because something isn't inherent to your identity, doesn't mean it isn't inherent to mine.
The second paragraph is a gross misinterpretation of what was said. I said abused poly people in relationships they cannot escape will likely cheat when they do find love. The same is true for monogamous people who cannot escape relationships. This happens all the fucking time. To women. To gay people. To trans people. To poly people. This is so utterly common it's an overused trope in story telling.
"OBVIOUSLY abusive situations aside"
The post was about abusive situations. You're already throwing away the core concept to the post.
"why are you staying with someone you are completely incompatible with"
This shows how this person has no value for relationships. Just because you realize you're poly doesn't mean your feelings for an individual disappears. You want to see if this relationship can still work, whether monogamous or polyamorous. Not to mention so many people would find themselves homeless or penniless by just leaving. There's no actual understanding of love and relationships and the heart here.
"you don't need to pursue any kind of relationship ever"
And gay people don't have to be in gay relationships. Trans people don't have to transition. Doesn't change the longing to experience what you want to experience.
"where exclusivity is agreed upon"
I know poly people who entered relationships under the premise the other person was poly, just for that person to decide "actually I'm monogamous, and I'll kill myself if you leave me." You have no understanding or empathy.
"wanting to be poly does not excuse cheating what is wrong with you people"
Look I agree cheating sucks and violates trust, but acting like it's the worst thing in the history of ever is just childish. I get it hurts but at the end of the day, you do not own another person's body and sometimes shit happens. I just do not care what other people do with their own bodies and you cannot make me believe I'm supposed to care. If my husband goes and fucks someone without my permission (which he commonly does) then that's rad. I hope he has fun. If my wife goes and fucks someone I don't know (which she regularly does) then fuck yeah I hope they both had fun. Y'all are too fucking uptight.
Also the tags
The "monogamous people are losers and shouldn't get a say in anything" was something I said in reply to a heckler on my 'monogamous people often abuse poly partners' post. To take it solely as 100% serious opinion is foolish and childish.
"I cheated cuz waaa"
I've never cheated on any partner. The post isn't even saying it's ok cheat, it's saying that poly people get branded as cheaters whether they do or don't. But I'll say it here just because it's so controversial that it pisses losers off: it's ok for polyamorous people to cheat on monogamous partners. Get out before they abuse you.

"Get up!" Sensei Kreese yelled to Kwon, who was already on the floor and bleeding. "You can't be the best fighter here if you're weak." He spat.
You watched like a small child seeing their parents argue. Your legs moved without you knowing, running to your locker and getting the small first aid you kept in case of emergencies.
You rushed back to the training room and saw Kwon there with his injures. No Kreese in sight. You looked around before sneakily walking in and checking up on the poor boy. "Kwon?" You whispered. He immediately looked up from the floor, ready to fight. "Whoa whoa... It's okay. I don't want to fight." You threw your hands up and placed your med kit aside. His eyes drifted to the medical equipment and lowered his hands, looking away as if he was embarrassed.
"You shouldn't have to deal with this." You muttered while getting some rubbing alcohol, bandages, and gauze. He flinched at the cold touch of the alcohol pad touching his wound on his head. "It only makes me stronger."
Being as gentle as you can to his cuts, you replied. "No, it makes you scared to mess up, and messing up is part of learning.... " you finished the first cut and put a bandage on it. "That's what makes you stronger." You continued in a soft whisper. Kwon stayed quiet while taking in your advice. "Look up." You placed you hand under his chin and cleaned the cut on his lip with an alcohol wipe.
Kwon looked up into your eyes, taking in your soft and delicate features. His heart was pumping at a fast rate due to the distance between you two. "I can't just lose-"
"I didn't say lose, I said it's okay to mess up every now and then. Personally, I've always liked the guys who don't always try to be perfect." You lectured, moving on to wrap his hand. "Because no one is perfect." Your words were limited, but they had a strong impact on Kwon.
A smile appeared on your face once you were done tending to Kwon's injuries. "I think you're all set!" He blinked and nodded. No words left his mouth, for he was thinking about you. Once he looked up to talk to you, you were gone and instead Kreese was back. "Where the hell did you get those bandages?" The sensei grunted, staring at his student.
"Whatever, it doesn't matter. Get back up, we aren't done."
.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・.・゜゜・
You smiled at Kwon who was across the mat. His smile and wave made him lose focus and fluster. "You good?" Yoon hit his arm softly.
"Yeah just... Thinking about someone- I mean something." Kwon gulped nervously with his fists clenched to the side. He debated in his mind whether he should do what he wanted to do.
"Y/n why are you staring at Kwon?" Sam snapped you our of your trance. "What do you mean? We're all staring at Kwon." "You're staring at him as if he's your boyfriend." She said loudly and laughed. Everyone turned to look at you for the word boyfriend. Robby especially.
You two had dated before and in the beginning of this karate war but broke up when he started hooking up with Tory. You left on good terms and you're happy for them. But just because Robby had a girlfriend, doesn't mean he wanted you to have a boyfriend. He tended to be very selfish with you. If he couldn't have you, no one else could.
"Boyfriend?" Robby scoffed. "Y/n how could you date a prick like that?"
"I'm not dating him! Sam was just joking." You gesture to him. "Yeah guys Y/n's not dating Kwon..." She said. "Yet."
Turning to her with a stern look, everyone started to talk and have an opinion on the topic. "I'm just saying maybe that's a good thing if they dated!" "He's the enemy!!" Demetri and Kwon argued.
"Uh, hey Y/n?.." The arguing came to a halt when Kwon approached you with a nervous look. You gasped and smiled. "Kwon... Hey... Whats- what's wrong?" He looked at the other Miyagi dos who looked ready to fight him, then back at you.
"I wanted to say thank you for yesterday..." He started. Thinking he was done, you talked. "Oh no it's okay... It was the right thing to do." Your smile was the last push he needed. Without thinking, he cupped your face and quickly gave you a soft kiss. Your eyes widened at the delicate kiss.
He quickly ran off leaving you and everyone dumbfounded.

Hi and thank you for bringing this important issue to light. I literally did a blog on this yesterday. My take on this is that there is NO EXCUSE for a writer not to reply to reader comments. If we writers can feel the pain of not getting engagement, we should also understand the pain our readers feel when we don't reply. I both write and read fanfics and in my experience it's the same pain I feel when my readers don't comment or the comment I left on a fanfic I loved doesn't get a reply.
The love, respect and engagement should be both ways. I truly hope that the writers who don't reply to comments aren't here liking this blog post because If you are, then now might be a good time to work on yourselves as well. Not replying might be why you're not getting a lot of feedback. I know cause personally I always unfollow writers who ignore my feedback🤭 I feel it's just rude. No one is that busy or forgetful.
If you're interested, here is a link to the blog post I did on the same subject
Dear fanfic writers, your need to get VALIDATION for your creativity is VALID
Look, there is no gun to our heads and no one is making us put our blood, sweat and tears into these stories we're writing. But look at it this way, we're human too and everyone likes to get compliments.
Writing for self enjoyment is the goal but don't feel bad for craving more support, hits, kudos, comments, etc. Just because it's fanfiction doesn't mean it's less mentally stressful to do, and it sure doesn't make the stories mean less to us as writers.
Our work is rich and awesome too and we deserve a good pat on the back for it. We deserve to get acknowledgement and credit for it🤝
#it's a two-way street#as writers let's both love to read and reply to comments#reblog#your reblog is 💯#on writing and commenting#fanfiction writing#writer problems#writing community

The night was alive, pulsing with the beat of drums, the laughter of revellers, and the glow of countless lanterns painting the festival grounds in hues of gold and crimson.
I had lost myself in it, dancing with anyone who caught my eye, twirling through the crowd with reckless abandon.
My hair was wild, my cheeks felt flushed, and my heart raced with the sheer joy of it all. The festival felt like freedom, and tonight, I was determined to take everything it offered.
But as the hour drew near for the lantern release, I found myself glancing around, searching for Nymor. My excitement dimmed just a little as I realised he was nowhere to be seen.
"Have you seen Nymor?" I asked, stopping by Aegon and Helaena, who were happily sampling sweets from a vendor nearby.
Aegon shrugged, too busy with his candied fruits to care, but Helaena gave me a sympathetic smile. "No, I haven't seen him in a while," she said, a small frown creasing her brow.
I sighed, frustration bubbling up. I had been looking forward to sharing the lantern release with him—the most magical moment of the night, where the stars seemed to come down to dance among the flickering lights.
I started weaving through the throngs of people, scanning faces, but Nymor was nowhere in sight. My mood dipped slightly as couples around me began pairing off, readying their lanterns.
My search led me to Aemond, standing slightly apart from the crowd, his tall figure unmistakable.
He hadn't moved much all night, nursing the same drink he'd been holding for hours, watching the festivities unfold with a brooding intensity that was hard to ignore.
"Aemond," I called, approaching him quickly. "Have you seen Nymor?"
He nodded, his lips curving ever so slightly. "He went off with some woman," he said, a glint of amusement in his tone as he watched my expression shift from hope to disappointment.
Of course, he did. I pouted, though I shouldn't have been surprised.
Nymor had a habit of charming the skirts off every woman in sight. I let out a small huff, feeling the weight of my plans slipping away as more people gathered for the lantern release.
"What's wrong?" Aemond asked, his voice softer than usual like he was genuinely curious about my mood.
"I wanted to do the lantern release with Nymor. It's the best part of the festival," I explained, looking longingly at the couples preparing their lanterns.
"It's magical... everyone pairs up and releases their lantern into the sky When they all rise at once, it's like the stars have come down to join the celebration."
"I have never heard of this tradition," he replied, his brow furrowing as if he were contemplating something.
Before he could respond further, a familiar face caught my eye. "Maric!" I called, waving him over. He approached with that easy smile of his, sweeping me into a hug.
"You're glowing as usual, Princess," Maric said with a wink, his attention fully on me, ignoring Aemond's looming presence beside us.
"Do the lantern release with me," I said, batting my lashes with an exaggerated pout.
Maric chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "As much as I'd love to, I've already promised someone else," he said, gesturing to a young woman waiting nearby with a lantern in her hand.
I huffed in annoyance, though I couldn't suppress the giggle that bubbled up. "You're no fun, Maric."
He grinned, unbothered by my disappointment.
"Find Yoren. He's somewhere in this chaos, and I'm sure he'd be more than willing to join you." He gave me a playful wink before his companion led him away, the woman flashing me a knowing, slightly smug curtsy as she did.
I watched them go, my earlier excitement replaced by a small pang of rejection. I turned back to Aemond, but before I could speak, his voice cut through the crowd, sharp and insistent.
"I will do it," Aemond said abruptly, his tone almost challenging.
I blinked, caught off guard by the sudden fervour in his voice. "What?"
"I will do the lantern release with you," he repeated, his gaze unwavering and intense. "There's no need to go searching for this... Yorek."
"It's Yoren," I corrected with a raised brow, surprised by his sudden insistence.
He merely shrugged, clearly unbothered. "Whoever. You do not need him."
A small smile tugged at my lips, amused by his stubbornness. "Alright, let's go," I said, reaching out and grabbing his hand without hesitation.
His fingers curled around mine, and I felt a slight hesitation in him—a moment of surprise as if he wasn't used to this kind of casual touch. He stared at our intertwined hands, a flicker of something warm and unfamiliar flashing in his eye.
Aegon and Helaena trailed after us, casting amused glances at their brother as I led him through the crowd.
We wove our way to the lanterns, the air buzzing with excitement as people gathered in pairs.
I stole a glance at Aemond as we approached one of the stalls, where the lanterns were delicately painted with intricate designs. He was still holding my hand, his grip firm but gentle.
We moved to the edge of the crowd, carving out our own little space amid the chaos.
I took a candle from a nearby table, my hands trembling with excitement as I prepared to light the lantern.
Aemond held it steady, his posture rigid yet careful, but I could feel his gaze lingering on me.
I crouched down to light the wick, and as I did, I could feel his eyes on me—watching my every move, studying the way the flame illuminated my face, the way my smile widened as the paper lantern began to glow.
It was as if the festival, the crowd, everything around us had disappeared, and all that remained was this quiet moment between us.
"Three... two... one..." the crowd counted down, and on the final beat, we released the lantern together.
I watched it lift into the sky, joining hundreds of others, all glowing against the dark night like floating stars.
"Isn't it beautiful?" I whispered, still staring up in awe at the sight. But when I turned to Aemond, he wasn't looking at the lanterns at all.
His gaze was fixed on me, his expression softer than I'd ever seen. "The most beautiful thing in all the Seven Kingdoms," he murmured, his voice low and reverent.
My breath caught, realizing he wasn't talking about the lanterns. There was something deeper in his eye, something that made my heart flutter in a way I hadn't expected.
"Like something from a dream," he added, his voice hushed, barely audible over the hum of the festival. He leaned in closer, his movements slow and deliberate, as though drawn by some invisible force.
For a moment, it was just the two of us, suspended in a pocket of time that felt impossibly delicate.
The lanterns continued to ascend, carrying with them the hopes of the festival-goers, but all I could feel was the undeniable pull between us.
Aemond's face was inches from mine, his breath warm against my skin, and I couldn't help but feel the weight of his words settling between us.
His intensity, his focus, the way he looked at me like I was the only thing worth seeing—it was overwhelming and intoxicating.
I swallowed my heart racing, caught between wanting to pull away and the undeniable urge to close the distance. His hand found mine again, his thumb brushing softly against my knuckles.
There was no denying the magnetic pull between us, and for once, I didn't want to fight it.
I leaned in, my lips brushing his in a hesitant kiss that quickly ignited into something far deeper, far more intense.
Aemond responded with a fervour that stole my breath, his lips crashing into mine, his hands finding my waist with an urgency that made my pulse race.
He pulled me closer, his body pressing into mine as though he needed to erase every last inch of space between us.
His kisses were wild, demanding, filled with a hunger that made my head spin, and I let myself melt into the sensation, the world around us blurring into nothingness.
He moved over me, our breaths mingling, the heat between us rising with every stolen moment. I could feel his heart pounding in sync with mine, each beat a testament to the desire we had held at bay for far too long.
It was intoxicating, the sheer force of his need, the way he devoured me with every kiss, every touch.
"Not here," I gasped, breaking the kiss, my chest heaving as I fought to catch my breath.
My hands still clung to him, reluctant to let go, but I knew we couldn't do this in the open, not with curious eyes all around us.
Aemond's forehead pressed against mine, his eye fluttering shut as he let out a ragged breath.
"I don't think I can wait," he whispered, his voice raw with restraint barely held together.
His fingers grazed over my skin, tracing patterns that sent shivers down my spine, each touch burning through me like wildfire.
His desperation thrilled me, a mirrored reflection of my own. I wanted him just as badly, and the thought of delaying this moment felt unbearable.
"Come," I urged, pulling him by the hand, weaving through the revellers who were far too lost in the festival's revelry to notice us slipping away.
My heart raced, the anticipation coiling tight in my stomach as I led him to the golden carriage waiting just beyond the lantern-lit crowds. Its ornate doors gleamed under the soft glow of the festival lights, a promise of privacy, of sanctuary.
We reached it breathless, and with a quick glance behind us, I swung the door open and slipped inside.
Aemond was on me the second the door clicked shut. He pushed me against the plush cushions, his body pressing me into the seat with a possessiveness that sent a thrill racing through me.
His hands roamed over my curves, exploring every inch of me with an urgency that made my breath hitch.
"You look like a star," he murmured against my neck, his lips brushing my skin, hot and electrifying.
He kissed a trail along my collarbone, his breath leaving a path of fire in its wake, and I arched into him, craving more.
A moan escaped my lips as he gathered the fabric of my dress in his hands, his fingers trembling with the same need that pulsed through me.
The world outside ceased to exist, the hum of the festival fading into oblivion.
It was just us now, caught in the intoxicating pull of desire. His hands fumbled at the buckle of his pants, too impatient to undress fully, the air between us thick with tension, with need.
It was raw, messy, and entirely consumed by the heat of the moment.
"Like a shooting star," he rasped between kisses, his voice rough with desire, "ready to grant my every wish."
The sensation of him teasing my slick folds, rubbing himself against me with just enough pressure to drive me mad, sent waves of pleasure through my body.
I writhed beneath him, the anticipation building to a fever pitch, and I couldn't take it anymore.
I pushed myself down onto him, a gasp tearing from my throat as he filled me, the sensation overwhelming, consuming.
Aemond groaned, his hands gripping my hips with a force that only heightened the intensity of it all. He began to move, hard and fast, his need mirrored in every thrust, each one more desperate than the last.
The carriage rocked with our movements, the rhythmic creak of the wheels adding to the symphony of our ragged breaths, our soft moans.
His body was taut, every muscle straining as he drove into me, his hands clutching the cushions to steady himself.
Each thrust sent ripples of pleasure through me, and I clung to him, my fingers digging into his shoulders as the tension between us built to an unbearable peak.
His mouth found mine again, the kiss rough and desperate, his breath mingling with mine as we lost ourselves in the moment.
Outside, the sounds of celebration continued, but in the confined space of the carriage, it was just us—our bodies intertwined, our desires laid bare.
Aemond's pace quickened, his thrusts growing more frantic, more erratic as he chased his release.
My back arched, pressing me closer to him, every nerve in my body alight with pleasure. His name escaped my lips in breathless whispers, the world spinning as I felt the coil inside me tightening, ready to snap.
His hands gripped my thighs, pulling me down onto him with a roughness that only added to the intensity.
The pleasure built and built until I couldn't hold back anymore.
My body trembled, and with one final thrust, the tension broke, sending me spiralling into a blinding wave of ecstasy.
Aemond followed me over the edge, his own release crashing over him with a guttural groan as he buried himself deep within me one last time.
His breath shuddered against my neck, his face pressed into the crook of my shoulder as we clung to each other, our bodies still trembling in the aftermath.
For a long moment, there was only the sound of our breathing, heavy and uneven, filling the small space of the carriage.
The heat between us was thick, the air charged with the lingering echoes of our shared desire.
He didn't pull away, didn't let go, his arms still wrapped around me as if he never wanted this moment to end.
Slowly, the intensity ebbed, leaving us both slumped and breathless against the cushions.
Aemond's forehead rested against my collarbone, and I absentmindedly threaded my fingers through his silver hair, our chests rising and falling in a rhythm that mirrored the aftershocks still fluttering through my body.
The world outside the carriage seemed distant, a muffled echo of laughter and music as the lanterns continued their slow ascent, casting flickering shades of gold and amber across the small, intimate space.
For a while, we stayed like that, wrapped in the aftermath of something that felt too raw, too consuming to break apart just yet.
The heat of his skin against mine was comforting, grounding, though my heart was still racing.
The lanterns outside painted shadows on the walls, dancing over our entwined forms, and for a fleeting moment, it felt as if time had stopped entirely.
Aemond's grip loosened, and he slowly leaned back, his eye still clouded with the remnants of desire.
He looked at me with an expression that made my heart stutter—soft, yet intense, like he was trying to memorize every detail, to hold on to this moment before reality could intrude.
I pressed a soft kiss to his temple, a lingering touch that felt as if I was holding onto something fragile and fleeting. But eventually, I pulled away, smoothing the rumpled fabric of my dress and feeling the cool air brush against my flushed skin.
I could feel his gaze on me, that ever-watchful intensity that never seemed to falter, and it sent a delicious shiver down my spine.
His voice came out in a low murmur. "We should go."
"You're probably right," I replied, though I made no immediate move to leave either.
Instead, I leaned back against the plush cushions, still catching my breath, my body deliciously sore.
The sounds of the festival outside felt distant now, like a faint reminder of the world we'd escaped for this brief, stolen moment.
Aemond was the picture of dishevelled elegance—his silver hair a little wild, his shirt half open, exposing the taut muscles of his chest. His lips still wore the faintest smirk, as though he couldn't quite believe what had just happened.
I raised an eyebrow, feeling the familiar fire stir inside me.
"What?" I teased, stretching my legs out and leaning back. "Not used to a little excitement, are we?" My tone was playful, daring, trying to lighten the tension that still hummed between us.
He let out a low chuckle, shaking his head, but the smirk on his lips only deepened.
"You're... something else," he muttered, his voice husky with both frustration and admiration, like he was still trying to understand what exactly had happened, what we had become.
I grinned, unrepentant.
"You're just now realizing that?" I shot back cheekily, before extending my hand. "Come on, dragon. Let us not hide in here all night. The world's still spinning out there, and I'd hate to miss all the fun."
He glanced at my hand, the faintest of sighs escaping him, but the smirk never left his lips.
With a resigned shake of his head, he took my hand, his fingers wrapping around mine as I pulled him to his feet.
As he adjusted his clothing, his eye stayed locked on me, a silent promise flickering in its depths—this wasn't over. Not by a long shot.
The heat between us hadn't vanished; it simmered just beneath the surface, a constant reminder of what had just passed and what could so easily happen again.
There was a magnetic pull between us, undeniable and ever-present, drawing us back to one another no matter how many times we tried to resist.
I stepped out of the carriage, pulling him with me, and the festival roared back to life.
The music was loud, the air thick with the scent of sweets and the laughter of drunken revellers.
Lanterns still floated lazily into the night sky, glowing like distant stars, and I breathed in the cool night air, feeling alive, electric.
We wove through the crowd, our hands brushing occasionally, and every time our skin touched, it sent a fresh jolt of excitement through me.
Aemond stayed close, his presence as commanding as ever, though now there was an added heat to the way he moved, the way he watched me. I could feel his eyes on me, could feel the tension still hanging between us, simmering just beneath the surface.
The night was far from over, and even though the thrill of our tryst in the carriage had passed, I could sense the lingering spark.
It was like a flame that refused to be snuffed out, no matter how hard we tried to bury it.
The festival continued around us, oblivious, but in the space between us, something had shifted—something fierce and undeniable.
I turned to Aemond, catching his eye as we neared the heart of the festival again.
"Think you can handle a few more surprises tonight?" I asked, my tone mischievous, daring him to keep up with me. I was feeling bold, exhilarated, the fire inside me blazing brightly.
He arched a brow, the corner of his mouth lifting into that dangerous smile I'd come to know so well.
"I am not one to back down from a challenge," he said, his voice low, sending a thrill straight through me.
I laughed, tugging him closer as we disappeared back into the throng of people, the night still young and full of possibility.
No matter what came next, one thing was certain—we were far from done.

Hello there~
This is my first time putting a request here since I started reading your reader fics (Himeko, Kafka, and Jade's. Love them all btw)
So, I was thinking of a fluff SFW sick fic with Jade. The scenario could be Jade returning to her office from a meeting only to find female reader unconscious with a fever. Jade blames herself for being inattentive and takes care of her precious assistant, regardless of female reader's insistence that Jade shouldn't fret over her especially since she's so busy
When you have time, no rush. And thanks in advance if you decide to take this request :3
This hit a bit too close to heart rn cause I'm sick and really wish to have someone like Jade pampering me 🥲
Game: Honkai Star Rail
Characters: Jade x fem!reader
Type: SFW, Fluff (Jade taking care of sick reader)
Jade tapped the top of her cane as the meeting dragged out. She was seated in a rather leisurely manner with one leg over the other and her head resting on her palm that was perched up on the armrest. With one glance anyone could tell she was uninterested and bored, it was no surprise considering the resolution was in IPC's favour and she no longer needed to contribute. She stayed only for Aventurine and Topaz, to ensure they faced no problems in one of their first ever joint projects.
The meeting finally ended after 5 mins and Jade let out a sigh as she adjusted her hat and stood up with others. Topaz came up to thank her and apologize for making her stay, to which Jade replied with a simple smile that it was her duty. She then made her way out of the meeting room and expected to see her secretary to know the next appointment in her schedule but was surprised that nobody was there.
"Hmm, strange.... Y/n is never late in such things. Perhaps I'll try calling her."
Jade pondered and took out her phone to dial yours but was met with no reply as you didn't pick up the call. She knew this was highly unusual as you'd never ignore your work, much less her.
"I suppose I should find out what's wrong."
She decided to come back to her office thinking you'd likely be there and as she expected, you were indeed there but to her surprise, you were lying unconscious on the couch. Jade furrowed her brows and quickly came towards you then kept her palm on your forehead and noticed your heavy breathing, quickly realising you were having a fever. The feeling of her touch made you open your eyes and in your blurred vision, you saw your boss kneeled beside you and staring at you.
"M-Ms Jade....? You are already back? Oh, wait.... I was supposed to....c-come to you.... I'm sorry I wasted....y-your time..."
You spoke in broken sentences as you struggled to sit up and compose yourself. Your nose was blocked and it was hard to breathe, accompanied by the throbbing pain in your head. You groggily looked around to find your tablet lying on the other side of the couch and were about to reach out to it when Jade held your shoulders and stopped you.
"Shh shh, what is this I'm seeing here? Why did you not tell me you were unwell?" She questioned while her gaze scanned you up and down and her hand cupped your face tenderly.
"N-No, I'm fine. This is just a cold, it'll go away....I can work, d-don't worry..."
Jade's eyes squinted and her hand slid down to your chest before grabbing your tie knot and proceeding to unfasten it.
"You should know that being sick leads to less productivity and we don't tolerate that. It is rather better to take a day off and assign your work to someone capable than drag yourself in an unorderly state."
She loosened your tie sufficiently then opened your collar button, the feeling immediately making you take a deep breath as you were no longer confined.
"I...s-sorry, I'll do better next time...But t-today I assure you I can manage...."
Jade let out a sigh and caressed your face once again, her soft touch sending shivers down your body.
"I can't have a sick secretary following me around, and I'm not cruel to make you work when you are clearly not in the right condition. I'll forgive you for today, not much time is left so you can leave early and I won't reflect it in your leaves."
You felt guilty making your boss do this but you knew it was better to listen. You accepted her suggestion and she smiled then stepped away to give you space, you tried gathering your things and standing up but were feeling dizzy which made your steps fumble and you were about to fall down when Jade caught you and made you fall on her body instead. Your head got cushioned by her soft breasts and her arms securely wrapped around you, one hand caressing your head as she cood.
"Careful now, darling. Seems you need some rest before leaving, and here you were saying you can still work, hm?~" Jade teased with a smirk, looking down at your rather adorable state with the way you were hugging her.
"I-I'm so sorry, ma'am! I-I...!" you were embarrassed out of your mind and tried to stand up but had no energy in your body to even pull away, not to mention that Jade's hold around you felt really comforting. You heard her chuckle in her sultry voice before leaning down to kiss your forehead, your face turning redder than it already was.
"I suppose I'll indulge you for a bit, you do deserve some reward for all your hard work~"
You wanted to protest but no words came out and you let her do as she pleased. She made you sit on the couch again then dialled up the medics on her phone who came within 5 minutes and checked you up then handed some medicines. Jade fetched you some water and made you take the medicines then sat beside you and suddenly pulled your head on her lap, making you lie down. She then placed a cold pack on your forehead and the cooling sensation made you instantly relax, until you looked up to see her beautiful face smiling at you and felt your heart skip a beat.
This kind of treatment was foreign to you, you had been by yourself for a long time that you had forgotten how it felt to be taken care of by someone else- especially when it was someone as reputed as one of the Ten Stonehearts. You didn't know Jade could be so caring, you were forever grateful to her for giving you this job and letting you live but you didn't think she was this way, it almost felt motherly. Her hand patted through your hair and made you relax on her lap, your eyes dropping close as you drifted to sleep.
"T-Thank you, ma'am...." You mumbled before falling asleep, making Jade chuckle softly and lean down to kiss your forehead once again.
"Rest up now, you have done enough. Leave everything to me~"

"Don't 'sister' me right now."
i love that reader already oh my god
"Whoa there. Where are you headed, my lady?", Lord Halbrand asks you in surprise, a gentle smile on his face as he holds you close, his touch on your skin burning. As soon as you notice this, you break free from his grip and take your distance, smoothing down your dress, which he only comments on with a frown.
You try to break out of the crowd, but your head is spinning and you no longer know which direction to go. Your breathing is getting faster and louder by the second. Nobody notices, nobody shows even the slightest hint of interest in you.
damsel in distress i’d say 😏
"What were you even thinking?", he says quietly, more to himself than to you. It feels like he doesn't want to scold you, but on the other hand he also does want to.
yeah, what was she thinking 😭 (for the record, i could never run away from marrying that man but it’s okay sweetheart)
And that's exactly how you feel right now: worthless. Born into a life that brings you nothing but suffering and pain.
i wanna hug her so bad right now
The slight scent of sea salt and smoke greets you and you have to admit that his embrace makes you feel safe, comfortable even. With his arms pressing you against his firm body tenderly, he manages to stop your body from shaking and your head from spinning. Right now, it's just you and Lord Halbrand. No could-haves, no would-haves.
not me, crying because this is so sweet
"Give us a chance", he calls up to you and even from this distance you can see the bright smile on his face. Then he turns around and disappears under one of the archways.
OKAY 😭😭
It doesn't take long before you get your horses galloping over the fields. Your white mare is a little faster than his horse, but you hardly even notice. You can only concentrate on the wind blowing through your hair, letting your dress float gently behind you. The air feels liberating and you are amazed at the beauty of nature, the beauty of the island you call home but have seen so little of.
i’m in love, this is my new dream
"If you want my humble opinion: I think it's exactly how a princess should behave", he replies, the wrinkles around his eyes from smiling making him even more handsome in your eyes. "You shouldn't have to hide from the world."
"I will make you a queen", he replies and the conviction with which he says this, the affection that resonates in his words and his features, makes you believe in his words. You desperately want to believe them.
in this very second, i died
You will be his queen. And then you will finally be free.
AHH THIS ONE KILLED ME ONCE AGAIN
keira your writing is just amazing, i love it!!

warnings: angst, forced marriage, panic attack, mentions of sickness, soft sauron
universe: the rings of power
"I won't marry a stranger!", you loudly cry out in anger and slam your fists on the table with all your might, the sheer force of it causing some of the parchments to fall to the marble floor.
"He is no stranger. He is the King of the Southlands", your sister, Queen-Regent Míriel, tells you matter-of-factly.
"Who told you that? The elf?", you spit out, the blood running through your veins seething with anger. "Just a few days have gone by since he was detained in one of our cells, and now he is being hailed as a long-lost king? Do you even listen to yourself?"
"Sister-"
"Don't 'sister' me right now."
Míriel takes a deep breath, resting her weight on the table with both arms, and lowers her head as if she needs a moment to avoid lashing out on you in the same manner you are currently displaying.
"Listen. A marriage like this would rekindle and strengthen the bond between the people of Middle-earth and our kind for generations to come", she explains, her voice calm, but you know her well enough to notice that she has to pull herself together.
"Very well, go ahead and marry him then", you counter and give her a challenging look, the one you have been giving her since you were children. "Why should I be the one to suffer?"
"As the Princess of Númenor, it is your duty to prioritize the welfare of your people over your own!", she yells at you now, her nostrils flaring. You'd be lying if you said you didn't flinch a little when she raised her voice. Usually, it takes longer to unsettle her.
Elendil, who is standing at the large doors to the room, also seems a little shocked. As the two exchange a tender look, however, Míriel's features relax again and she straightens up, slipping back into the role of the wise, majestic Queen-Regent of Númenor.
"I won't accept no for an answer", she tells you, all calm and collected again. No trace left of your loving sister whom you loved so much.
"You have held me captive within these castle's walls for longer than I know and now you wish to ship me off like that?", you scoff in disbelief, crossing your arms in front of your chest, trying to mask how much she's hurting you right now.
"You wanted freedom. Here I am granting it to you."
"This is not freedom", you express your words through gritted teeth, your eyes burning with tears as your words have no effect on Míriel. "You think you can still control me like a child. But you no longer hold any power over me. I won't let you dictate the course of my life."
To emphasize your point, you grab the unassuming tiara adorning your head, smaller and thus in stark contrast to your sister's, and forcefully hurl it to her feet. Several small diamonds come loose and the sound of them scattering around the marble floor makes you shiver.
"I don't care who he is", you say angrily, your hands clenched into fists at your sides while Míriel only looks at you in shock, her eyes wide. "I won't marry someone I don't know, let alone love."
With these final words, you turn away and walk towards the door, which Elendil quickly opens for you. On his face, you clearly see that he feels sorry about how this whole situation expired. But you don't need his pity.
You stomp out angrily, holding back your tears, your pulse pounding in your ears. You have never told her what you think before. You have always done what she asked of you, been a good little sister because you can only imagine the burden she is carrying. But today she has crossed a line.
When you turn around in the hallway one last time, catching a glimpse of Míriel through the closing door, you see Elendil carefully approaching her to comfort her. From this perspective, she looks exhausted, hurt even. But all you feel towards her is anger. You can't help but roll your eyes and release a heavy breath of air from your lungs.
Undoubtedly, that is the reason why she wants you to marry Lord Halbrand. Because her heart is already taken.
You think back to times when you would have been overjoyed, when you would have been genuinely happy for her. You two would have lain on soft pillows and talked about everything, every little detail. Now, you can find none of these feelings inside of you.
Completely lost in your thoughts, you walk through the large halls of the castle, your home. A home that feels much more like a prison. With your head low, you turn a corner and suddenly collide with a hard wall. Caught off guard, you stumble back until a hand closes around your wrist and holds you tight.
You forget to breathe for a moment when your gaze meets his.
He is the last person you want to talk to right now.
"Are you all right?", he asks you with concern in his voice, making you realize that you haven't given him an answer and just stood there in silence. In fact, you don't really have anything to say to him. You just wish he would go back to Middle-earth where he belongs.
"Yes", you finally answer, coldly and curtly. "Now if you'll excuse me."
You walk past him, your shoulders almost touching, and listen to your own loud footsteps echoing through the halls as you walk down the corridor.
"Your demeanour leads me to believe that the Queen-Regent informed you of our plans", his voice calls after you, suddenly bringing you to an abrupt halt.
Our plans? That means they have been talking about this behind your back for who knows how long. You were deemed to lose from the beginning. As always.
"She did", you say, slowly turning around and towards him. He hasn't moved from the spot where you left him moments ago, but his presence fills the entire hallway anyway.
The way he stands there and looks at you, as if you were fragile and pitiable, makes the anger inside of you boil up once more and you walk towards him. Instead of taking a step back, however, he takes one towards you so that he is now towering over you with all his height.
"Listen to my words: I don't know what exactly you hope to achieve with this.. marriage. But it will never happen. I will not marry you", you tell him clearly, emphasizing the last words by poking your index finger into his chest. You don't give him time to answer, but as you turn around you notice the knowing grin that plays around his lips.
You decide not to respond to this and move away from him entirely. As soon as you turn into the next corridor, you finally feel like you can breathe again. At least as much as is possible for you within these walls.
You haven't been able to breathe properly in here for a long time.
You walk to your room, two guards posted on either side of the massive doors, and let yourself through without a word. Once inside, you find your way directly to the balcony, which overlooks the entire city and the harbour. The wind blows through your hair and creates a sad smile on your lips. From up here, you can hear nothing but the wind, the people frolicking down there nothing more than tiny black dots. A single tear finds its way down your cheek and you don't bother to wipe it away. Rather, you are amazed that you can even cry at all after all the tears you have already shed here.
You don't know if it is at that moment, or before, when you threw your crown at Míriel's feet, but you make a decision.
With a goal in mind, you go back inside, into the huge room you call your own and search through several closets until you find what you are looking for. You swap your beautifully ornamented dress for a more simple one, get rid of all your jewelry and put your hair into a casual updo. On the way to the door, your own reflection briefly looks back at you from the mirror across the room and you pause as you look at yourself.
Nothing is left of the little girl who once had dreams and pursued goals.
Taking another deep breath, you open the door and step out. The guards bow, as they always do when they see you.
"I'm going to pay a visit to my father", you explain to them, which they confirm with a short nod. They are about to follow you, but seem to remember that you are now allowed to walk around without guards constantly at your side, at least within the castle's walls. A change that hasn't been in effect for very long.
Nevertheless, you quicken your pace once you are out of their reach, afraid that they will decide to follow you after all. On your way, you make sure to avoid the maids and other guards, hiding behind corners, holding your breath. When you finally arrive at the stairs to the tower that lead up to your father, you stop hesitantly. But it only takes a moment, remembering your conversation with Míriel and all the other terrible events of the past, for you to regain your strength and turn away. With quick steps, you take the next set of stairs that lead down.
As you arrive in corridors that lead to the kitchen and staff facilities, you pay close attention to every little noise. Your heart is pounding so hard against your chest that you feel like it can be heard echoing throughout the corridors. You put your shaking hands against the spot where your heart is and try to calm yourself down. You've never tried to break out of this prison before, you always thought you were here for your own good. But you know better now. The thought of the outside world, which you have encountered so rarely in your life, scares you beyond belief either way.
Your sister's words still roam around your mind, making you clench your fists, until you gather up all your courage. Finally, you make it out of one of the doors, out into the fresh air that greets you lovingly.
However, you have no time to linger and quickly move forward, with careful steps as not to alert anyone. As you walk, you pull a cloth out of the corset of your dress that you had previously hidden there. In one swift motion, you pull it over your head and hide your face behind the fabric, only your eyes visible now.
With these safety measures in place, you make your way to the harbour, away from the castle. The entrances for the staff are guarded, but because of your disguise they let you pass. Once you slip past them, you are immediately surprised by the number of people walking through the streets. The sun is already setting on the horizon and the warm light of lanterns illuminates the alleyways.
With a gentle smile, you watch as two children whirl around, holding dolls that they chase each other with. You follow the mass of people who probably want to celebrate the end of their day in one of the taverns. The closer you get to the center of the city, the market square, the louder and more crowded it becomes. You hear them talking, laughing with each other, arguments are being settled, some young girls dance in the middle of a crowd of people who happily watch and applaud.
Despite the positive and joyful atmosphere, you are overcome by a feeling of sadness and sorrow all of a sudden. These people are your people - and you never get to see them. They don't get to see you unless they enter the castle, and that is something only a few people are allowed to do, reserved especially for the nobles and those of higher rank. But what makes you even sadder is the fact that very few of them even care for you. You are second in line to the throne. Once your father leaves this world, Míriel will be their Queen. Accordingly, interest in you is quite low. You are not even sure they would recognize you if you took off your disguise.
The sad truth is that they wouldn't, and that hurts more than you thought. And these are the people you are supposed to give your life for.
Suddenly everything becomes too much for you. Your ears are ringing, your heart is pounding, your whole body is shaking. No matter where you look, there are crowds of people everywhere. You feel small, constricted, helpless. You are carelessly pushed to the side, shoved forward. Your feet are stepped on, no one apologizes. You try to break out of the crowd, but your head is spinning and you no longer know which direction to go. Your breathing is getting faster and louder by the second. Nobody notices, nobody shows even the slightest hint of interest in you.
When you feel your legs giving way beneath you, you are suddenly grabbed by the arm and pulled into an alley.
You are terrified when you realize that you cannot defend yourself, your body is completely frozen and does not listen to your commands. Only when you feel a gentle hand on your cheek - the cloth must have come loose in all the chaos - and look up do you let out a breath that you didn't even know you were holding in. Lord Halbrand is standing in front of you, his face painted in concern as he looks you up and down.
"What are you doing out here all alone, Princess?", he asks and quickly grabs a hold of your shoulder as you start to drift away again, your legs no longer able to hold you upright. Exhausted, you lean against the stone wall behind you and close your eyes. You don't like that he sees you like this. On the other hand, he just saved you and prevented you from fainting in the middle of a crowd.
"I.. don't know", you whisper in defeat and it takes all your strength to admit it.
"What were you even thinking?", he says quietly, more to himself than to you. It feels like he doesn't want to scold you, but on the other hand he also does want to.
You look into his eyes, his face bathed in warm light from the soft candlelight of the lanterns around you. The wounds that are covering his skin have slowly healed, but even in this dim light you still notice them. Only now, when staring at him, do you realize that he is distracting you from all the noise and hustle, faded into the background.
"Come. I'll escort you back to the castle", he finally offers, his hands still on your shoulders as if he doesn't dare let go of you, afraid that you'll drift into the darkness at any moment.
Once again, you don't react and only stare at him, making the worry on his face deepen. In the meantime, you just can't wrap your head around how a Southlander like him, a low man, who barely knows you and who you've met with nothing but hatred, is worried about you while the people around you, your kind, are far away from even remotely caring about you.
"Can you walk on your own?", he asks, and when you finally nod in agreement, he lets go of you. But not for long, because after he puts the cloth back in its place to cover your features one of his hands wraps around yours and holds it tightly in his grip as he pulls you behind him, up several steps that lead further away from the cheerful scene.
You are grateful that he doesn't ask any questions, doesn't want to know why you were out here in the first place.
"Thank you."
That makes him pause for a moment and his hand applies a little more pressure on yours. In response, he turns to you with a gentle smile and lowers his head in resignation.
For some inexplicable reason, your heart suddenly skips a beat. He doesn't seem to notice the change in your face, however, and walks on. Together you make your way through the winding streets and you are amazed at how well he already knows his way around. You have to admit that it also hurts. After just a few days he's already more familiar with this city than you are.
You can already see the entrance to the castle when Lord Halbrand halts in his step, forcing you to stop as well. Turning to you, he steps closer and lifts your hand. Then, he gently places his other hand on top of it.
"I don't know what you were doing out there", he starts, looking from your hand between his to your eyes. "But rest assured that I'll keep it to myself."
The relief you feel in that moment is indescribable. If your sister found out you had escaped, she would surely reinforce all safety measure to protect you. This feeling doesn't last long, however, when another emotion suddenly overshadows it once he continues speaking.
"A princess like you doesn't belong out here."
He may not notice it, but these words hurt you deeply and make your eyes burn with tears within seconds. Without hesitation, you snatch your hand from him and put some distance between you by taking a few steps back. Your knees still feel weak, but you don't let it show. Lord Halbrand's face meets yours with incomprehension as you do so.
"I know where I belong", you spit out angrily and straighten up. For a moment you actually thought there might be more hidden beneath his facade. Oh, how wrong you were.
With these last words, you leave him standing there and walk the last few meters to the castle without him. Once again, you sneak through the staff quarters into the castle. Although you don't want to admit it, the walls suddenly give you comfort, making you feel safe and protected.
You quickly blink away a few tears and return to your chambers, where you go straight to bed. Even though you are incredibly exhausted and drained, you don't sleep all night. You toss and turn in the sheets, your mind plagued by nightmares until you hear the birds outside singing.
════════════
Annoyed, you slam the door to your chambers shut behind you and lean against it with a huff. Then you slide down to the cold ground and pull your knees closer to you, hugging them against your body.
Once again you tried to talk to your sister. Once again she dismissed your words as if they were worthless.
And that's exactly how you feel right now: worthless. Born into a life that brings you nothing but suffering and pain.
Ever since you were born, you were the one who would never ascend the throne. Who would never rule. And you never wanted to. You would never want to be your sister. But right now, you wish that you were both just born into a normal family, with no wealth or power. At the end of the day, she is still your big sister, the one who has always watched over you. Your mother dead, your father long bedridden - she is the only family you have left.
You miss the times when everything was peaceful. Happy times long gone when two sisters were inseparable. But the years made you believe that this world is not made for anyone to be happy.
You lower your head and let the sadness wash over you like waves finally bringing down a ship, and tears stream down your cheeks. Your body shakes, but you hold back any sobs, crying in silence.
You don't know how long you sat there, alone with your thoughts, the very last tear leaving your eye, but eventually something catches your attention. Something that reflects the light from across the room, lying on your vanity table that wasn't there when you left in the morning. Slowly, you get up and walk over, only to discover a beautiful brooch on top of a small piece of parchment. The design is that of a sun and the brooch is decorated with white and blue diamonds. It's breathtaking to look at.
You glance at the black ink on the parchment and your heart involuntarily jumps once more. The words read: 'Forgive me'.
When you suddenly hear footsteps behind you, however, you don't have time to think about these words any further. In one quick movement, you take an ornate dagger out of one of the drawers and turn in the direction of the noises. What you don't expect, however, is that Lord Halbrand emerges from the shadows behind your bed.
"H-How did you get in here? Who let you in?", you ask, out of breath, your heart pounding. The dagger in your hand is still raised, even as he approaches you. He doesn't say anything, however, just stands in front of you and slowly grabs your hand, which is tightly gripping the weapon. He lowers your joined hands and carefully removes the dagger from your grip, leaning over you to gently place it on the table.
"I was uncertain if my apology would be deemed acceptable, hence I wanted to see you in person to make sure", his soft voice sounds in your ear and sends a shiver down your spine. He is definitely too close to you right now and even though you'd never admit it, it doesn't feel uncomfortable. You look straight into his shining eyes which are not quite blue and not quite green but something in the middle. You swallow because the intensity in his gaze leaves you speechless.
"Get off me", you manage to croak out, sounding anything but convincing. Lord Halbrand notices this too, a smirk playing around his lips.
"I know you don't mean that, Princess. And that, deep down, you have already forgiven me", he breathes in a deeper voice than before and brushes a strand of hair from your face. In an instant, you grab his wrist and stop him from touching you any further. Because you know exactly what his touch does to you. And you simply cannot and do not want to acknowledge that you like what he does.
So far, every encounter with him was exhilarating, thrilling, like you were finally embarking on a long-awaited adventure. He awakens feelings you have kept locked away for a long time, sealed behind thick iron bars. Brick by brick, he slowly destroys the protective walls you have built around your heart.
It scares you.
"Lord Halbrand", you say more seriously now and stare directly into his beautiful eyes while he does not even try to free himself from your grip. "Get out of this room or I will call the guards and have you removed."
At that threat, Lord Halbrand lets out a quiet chuckle and removes his hand from your tight grip with ease.
"Before long, I will become your husband. It's time for you to get used to my presence, my lady", he states and the fury that rises in your eyes at his words is unmistakable. "I am aware that this.. arrangement may not be something you look forward to, but I suggest that you begin to come to terms with it. I fear you have no choice but to agree."
"Don't do this", you plead, and even though you try your best to hide it, your body trembles and your eyes fill with tears. The realization that he is telling the truth makes you feel sick to your stomach. Not wanting him to see your obvious discomfort, you turn your head away, lowering it in the process.
The next moment, however, you are unexpectedly pulled forward and suddenly feel two strong, muscular arms around you. Lord Halbrand hugs you as if his life depended on it. You can't even remember the last time someone hugged you. Especially not like this.
The fact that you are no longer averse to his proximity scares you an immeasurable amount. That is also the reason why, in the next second, you push him away with all your strength, your hands on his hard chest.
"Please, Lord Halbrand. I need you to leave", you almost beg him and when his hand clasps yours on his chest, you look up at him and suddenly feel seen. The way he looks at you is unlike anyone has ever looked at you before.
"Your wish is my command, Princess", he nods and lifts your hand to his mouth, where he places a feather-light kiss on the back of your hand before he walks back to the large doors to your chamber, not taking his eyes off you. You also watch him and wait for him to finally leave you.
"Leave out the Lord next time", is the last thing he says before he disappears.
As soon as you see the door slam shut behind him, however, you run over with quick steps. Only when you get there and reach for the door handle do you stop yourself. What has gotten into you? Overwhelmed by the emotions flowing through your body all at once, you lean your forehead against the door in defeat.
After staying there for a while and taking several deep breaths to calm your rapidly pounding heart, you walk over to the brooch that is still shining at you from the table. Carefully, you place the fragile thing in the palm of your hand and examine it when you suddenly hear a whistle.
Wondering where it came from, you step out onto your balcony and see a few ships leaving the bay in the distance. But your attention is quickly drawn to the person standing in the courtyard a few meters below, looking up at you. You don't have to look twice to know that it is Halbrand.
"Give us a chance", he calls up to you and even from this distance you can see the bright smile on his face. Then he turns around and disappears under one of the archways.
Holding the brooch tightly to your heart, you can't believe that a soft smile creeps onto your lips.
════════════
"His Lordship Halbrand has requested to see you, my lady", one of the guards announces as you step out of your chambers the next morning. The mention of his name makes your heart skip a beat and you straighten up immediately.
"Then I shouldn't keep him waiting", you reply gracefully and let the guard accompany you to the place where Halbrand wants to meet you. You wouldn't have expected this to be the inner courtyard, though. And even less that he would be waiting for you there with two saddled horses.
"I hope you had a good night's sleep, my lady", Halbrand greets you with a gentle smile and notices that your steps immediately slow down when you see him with the horses. "Rest assured, Princess. I have consulted with the Queen-Regent regarding this matter. With her approval, I am permitted to accompany you on a brief ride. If that is what you wish, of course."
You pause entirely. You can't believe he convinced your sister to let you leave the castle, and with only Halbrand as your company as well. On the other hand, you've gotten a sense of how charming and persuasive he can be in the last few days.
Smiling, he holds out the reins of a white mare that is standing calmly next to him. Still a little unsure about the whole situation, you take the reins and stroke the horse gently, but don't take your eyes off Halbrand.
"H-How?", you ask him in disbelief. You can't help but think back to how often you have begged your sister to finally let you leave the castle. The fact that she is allowing this now makes you a little suspicious, but you certainly won't question her motives if it means that you can experience freedom once more, even if only for a few hours.
"We have to be back by sunset", Halbrand winks at you and comes closer, making you take a step back instinctively. When he reaches out his hand, you realize that he just wants to help you onto the mare, so you put your hand in his. Once you feel his calloused, rough yet soft hand, a pleasant feeling flows through you and when you sit upon the mare's back, you feel like you could conquer the world. He mounts his black horse as well and together you lead the horses out of the gate.
You turn around, your eyes fixed on the castle and the guards who make no move to follow you. A sense of relief flows through your body at once. Side by side, you make it out of the city and as soon as you leave the border of the capital, you are greeted by vast meadows and fields, grass gently swaying in the wind.
A little later you reach a white sandy beach, the waves calm, seagulls squalling in the distance. The sea suddenly smells completely different from what you are used to and you can't help but smile.
If this is what freedom feels like, you won't ever go back.
Finally, you bring your horse to a stop on the shore, scratching her head, and turn to Halbrand, who stops his stallion right in front of you. Your hair is all tousled by the wind, but Halbrand smiles at you so genuinely that your cheeks flush. Without saying a word, you hop off your mare's back and bend down to bury your hands in the sand. As Halbrand dismounts, you quickly take off your shoes, lift up the fabric of your dress a little, and wade into the shallow water, which laps warmly against your skin.
You can't remember the last time you felt the ocean. As a Númenorean, you are connected to the sea on a deeper level and it feels like, right now, it's showing you how much it's missed you, like you're reuniting with an old friend. The sun is high above you, warming your skin as you close your eyes and enjoy the moment. Then you jump around the water playfully and with so much joy you haven't felt since you were a child.
Until you meet Halbrand's gaze. He is still standing where you left him, the reins of both horses in his hand, watching you enjoy yourself with so much affection in his eyes that you want nothing more than to run to him and fall into his arms, chasing the exhilarating feeling he gave you the day before.
Shyly, you slowly walk back to him through the ankle-deep water, your dress a little wet at the bottom.
"Enjoying yourself?", he asks with a smile, one hand scratching his horse behind the ears as he looks you up and down with sparkling eyes.
"Not exactly princess-like behaviour now, is it?", you shrug, eliciting a chuckle from him that gives you goosebumps and makes your heart beat faster.
"If you want my humble opinion: I think it's exactly how a princess should behave", he replies, the wrinkles around his eyes from smiling making him even more handsome in your eyes. "You shouldn't have to hide from the world."
"I wish I could come here more often", you sigh, ignoring his statement, your mood suddenly burdened by the thought that this moment of freedom will not last long and you will soon find yourself locked up inside the walls of the castle again. Halbrand's expression matches yours, but his gaze lays you bare. Feeling weak, you turn away. You stumble through the sand and finally flop onto the ground on a small dune, neatly placing your shoes next to you. Halbrand leaves the horses in your sight and joins you, sitting just a few meters next to you, your elbows touching.
For a while, neither of you says anything and you just stare out at the waves, which radiate a certain calm.
"As a child, I was very sick. An unidentified illness that was brought over from the continent. Despite having overcome it, I remained in a very weak state, requiring assistance with everything. I was not allowed to go out neither were people allowed to see me for fear of infecting me again. I was always surrounded by guards", you explain, your voice strong, but you have to pull yourself together not to sob. "Míriel was the only one who stood by my side, who made my time a little more bearable. Since our father.. has fallen sick, my sister feels even more responsible for my safety and, just like him, doesn't let me go out. She says it's for my own good and I once believed that, a long time ago. But now I doubt her concern is rooted in anything else than her own fear of losing me."
As soon as the last words leave your lips, you feel free. Free from the burden of not being able to tell anyone. But saying it out loud makes it feel so much more real. Still, pride fills you that you didn't shed a single tear. Halbrand, who was hanging on your every word, looks at you not with pity or sadness, but with a smile.
"Thank you for confiding in me. I can hardly imagine how hard that must have been for you", he tells you, speaking as if all of this is no longer your present. Maybe it's not right now, but it will be once you return.
"I have been wondering why you were locked up inside your whole life", he mutters to himself and takes a handful of sand, letting it trickle through his fingers. "And despite the prospect of freedom, you are against this marriage?"
His words hit you harder than they should, because you have to admit that you haven't given it a thought since yesterday.
"It's about her treating me like I'm a commodity that can be sold for a price", you answer, anger rising inside of you at the thought. "Either she keeps me here and risks a war or she finally lets me leave, with the ulterior motive that I at least bring some added value to Númenor. Besides, no one ever said that I would come with you once we were married."
"You think she would keep you here?", Halbrand asks, astonished. When you nod, something like determination paints his features.
"I won't allow that."
"I fear none of us will have much say in this", you sigh, exhausted and defeated, absentmindedly playing with the sand now as well. "I'm sorry you have to put up with a princess who knows nothing about this world, let alone has seen anything-"
"Don't say that", Halbrand interrupts you firmly, his eyebrows drawn together as if it physically hurts him to hear such words coming from your mouth. "You are perfect in my eyes, Princess."
You are glad he can't see the way your heart has started beating faster. What he can see, however, is the blush rising to your cheeks, which you quickly try to hide by turning your head away, pulling your knees closer to you.
"I feel like no one has ever told you how beautiful you are. In every way", he continues and you are startled when you feel his hand on your chin, gently turning your face back to him. You find it difficult to look at him, his eyes are looking at you so intensely that you no longer know which way is up and which way is down.
"Lord Halb-"
"What did I tell you about the Lord?", he chuckles, shaking his head at your cute behaviour. He loves the colour of pink your cheeks have taken on and how your eyes search his for any sign that he is lying, but you find nothing but the truth in them.
"When I told you that a princess like you doesn't belong here, I meant that a princess like you, who should be a queen, doesn't belong on this island, isolated from the world", Halbrand whispers, his hand moving from your chin to your cheek, where he gently strokes your heated skin with his thumb. "You belong in the very middle of it."
"N-No. I could never be a queen, I was not born for that", you explain, confident in your own words because it's all you have ever heard in your entire life; you would never be queen.
"I will make you a queen", he replies and the conviction with which he says this, the affection that resonates in his words and his features, makes you believe in his words. You desperately want to believe them.
"I promise I will not go without bringing you along", he assures you, holding your face in both of his hands now, his face so close to yours that you only have to lean forward a little to taste his lips. Halbrand notices this too, his gaze wanders to your lips and back to your eyes, which meet his almost pleadingly. As soon as you slightly nod, he connects your lips in a gentle but longing kiss. You gasp, never having been kissed before. Your heart feels like it will jump out of your chest at any moment, the sound of the waves blurs with your heartbeat and your hands get lost in his hair.
The kiss only lasts a few seconds, both of you having to catch your breath, but you don't want to let go of him. You have no idea what this man, this inconspicuous King of the Southlands, is doing to you, but you don't want to think about it because all you know is that you finally feel like yourself again, a feeling that seems so familiar yet unknown.
"I promise I will make you a queen and if it's the last thing I do", Halbrand tells you once more, leaning his forehead against yours before leaving a gentle kiss on the side of your mouth. Smiling up at him, you waste no time to wrap your arms around his neck and connect your lips in another kiss.
You will be his queen. And then you will finally be free.

Everyone knew that Tendou ran cold. He'd stick his hands up the other boys' shirts when they weren't being careful, chilling them to the core as he laughed. He'd even managed to convince Goshiki for a couple months that he was cold because he was a lizard person, needing to warm in the sun lest he freeze completely and die. When Shirabu saw Goshiki worry about Tendou in the winter, he knew it was time to explain that that was absolutely not the case. And it was the truth that Tendou didn't mind being cold; he had never considered himself the proper, warm kind of person anyway so what difference did it make that his body temperature acted the same way?
That was until he felt how warm Ushijima's hands were and how he flinched every time they touched.
From that moment on, Tendou began to take precautions against his coldness. He took boiling hot showers, drank hot beverages as much as he could, ate the spiciest foods, and began to wear gloves.
Ushijima didn't understand the changes. He didn't like the taste of the foods on Tendou's tongue when they kissed and he missed feeling the calluses on his hands. He frowned as Tendou grabbed his hand with his gloved one, swinging their arms once enjoined.
He notices the frown on Ushijima's face and leans closer to him. "Eh? What's wrong?"
Ushijima squeezes his gloves hand, replying, "I do not like these gloves."
Tendou hums, pulling his hand back. He hadn't really thought about how Ushijima would react to the material of the gloves. Maybe these ones were too irritable for him? He made a mental note to buy a softer pair that Ushijima would prefer.
"Sorry bud, I'll get a new pair later today-"
Ushijima grabs his hand again. Tendou's eyes widen in surprise as he watches Ushijima pull the glove off his hand and intertwine their fingers, immediately pocketing the glove before Tendou can protest.
"Better." Ushijima asserts, nodding to himself.
Tendou blinks rapidly, attempting to pull his hand back despite enjoying how warm Ushijima's hand was. Ushijima holds on though, refusing to let go and watches curiously as Tendou pulls their hands towards him.
"No, bud, you don't have to hold my hands when they're so cold! You're gonna turn into ice-"
Ushijima furrows his brows, "I do not think that is possible."
Tendou almost laughs but remains strong, adamant to make Ushijima understand. "No, no, I mean I don't want to make you feel cold."
Ushijima seems to think about this for a second. Tendou takes that as confirmation that he is indeed too cold for him and tries to pull his hand back. But Ushijima tightens his grip and pulls their enjoined hands back towards him.
"I have never been cold," Ushijima mumbles, running his other hand's thumb across Tendou's knuckles and sending a bloom of warmth across them, "I like that you cool me down."
With that, Ushijima raises their hands to his lips, pressing them firmly against the back of Tendou's hand. He leaves a warm imprint on it that Tendou relishes, squeezing his hand in response.
"I like that you warm me up." He replies before leaning fully into Ushijima and pressing their lips softly together, cold melting into warmth.
Tendou had almost forgotten that Ushijima ran hot. But it shouldn't have come as a surprise that, when it came to the two of them, they often found that what they had missed all of their lives could always be found in the other.
#another small story hehe#this slipped out of the story i'm currently writing for fukutora bc i missed ushiten whoops#ushijima would absolutely run hot - i think tendou is either always cold or fluctuates wildly between the two#haikyuu#haikyuu!!#hq#ushiten#haikyuu ships#tendou satori#ushijima wakatoshi#ushijima x tendou#haikyuu fanfiction

|You will always be mine ~ Lee Minho series|
PART 14
Paring: Minho x Y/N
Genre: smut, angst, university au
Word count: 1364
Warnings: sex, 18+, Minho is a psycho, dom!Minho, sub!reader, abuse, slight BDSM, kidnapping, violence, age gap, Minho is an university professor, Y/N can be hurt physically (and mentally too I guess).
Synopsis: Who knew that accidental fuck in the club bathroom with a handsome man will bring you to a lot of unexpected events.
Author's note: I kept this series for a really long time not sure if I want to post it or not, but I decided to do it anyway, so I hope you'll like it.
——————————
It's been a month since you moved away from Minho. Since then, you had no contact with him other than at the university. Lee Minho still remained your lecturer. The denunciation you filed didn't change much - Minho was interrogated, police officers even came to the university and interviewed other female students, but it didn't do anything.
Minho knew perfectly well that it was you who had filed the complaint against him. He also knew that the idea was suggested to you by Jeno, but he was not angry with you. He knew he deserved it, and yet he couldn't stop thinking and fantasizing about you. About your body, your touch, the moans you made when he gave you pleasure. He wanted you to come back to him, so that you could be together again. He was willing to do anything to fulfill that desire. Even if it involves forcing it on you.
The day was rainy and chilly. You went shopping, to a nearby market, but you forgot your umbrella, and the clothes you were wearing - short shorts and an oversized hoodie - did not add to your warmth at all. You were returning with a bag full of shopping when a black car with tinted windows drove past you. You did not initially pay attention to it. It wasn't until the third time the same vehicle came within your sight that you freaked out.
The car finally stopped when you stood in front of the lanes, at a red light. It began to rain harder and thunder could be heard in the distance. The storm was approaching the city. You jumped up slightly in your seat when you heard another thunder, and the car window lowered.
“Hey, Y/N.” You heard the familiar voice of your lecturer. “Why don't I drop you off? You're all wet...”
“Ehm.... No need Mr. Lee...” You replied confused and even more stressed.
“Oh come on, I know you don't like thunderstorms, get in.” He opened the door for you from inside. You thought for a moment, but got inside. In fact, you were all wet and cold.
“Thank you.” You said quietly.
Minho just nodded to you and took off. He closed the car imperceptibly from the inside so that you would not get out of it so quickly. In fact, you lived not far away, but the man took a longer route that you did not associate - he just wanted to stay with you a little longer.
“Ekhm... Minho... I mean, Mr. Lee... this is probably not the way to go.” You began uneasily, breaking the awkward silence.
“The main road is closed due to this rain, so we're going around.” He explained without taking his gaze off the roadway.
“Mhm...”
“You don't have to be afraid of me Y/N, you know very well that I won't hurt you...” Minho began.
“Well, I don't know, last time...”
“Last time I got a little carried away.” The man said, interrupting you in mid-sentence. “And for that I would like to apologize to you. Actually I overreacted...”
He was answered by silence. You didn't know what you should say or how to behave around him. A month has passed since your last interaction. A month in which you were both angry with him and missed him.
“I wish...” Minho continued. “I wish you would come back to me... A month is a long time, don't you think?”
“I don't know... We really shouldn't. You're still my lecturer and...”
“Somehow it didn't bother you before.” He replied firmly. A gentle annoyance could be heard in his voice.
“Well, yes, but we shouldn't have either before...” You defended yourself.
“But it didn't bother you, so why does it bother you now?” He asked and put his hand on your thigh, squeezing it lightly. “Pretty much, you liked it a lot before.” He began to make circles on your bare skin with his thumb. “I would very much like to get back to the way things were between us before.”
“Minho, stop...” You grabbed his hand and removed it from your thigh. The man clenched his jaws, he didn't like the fact that you were refusing him. “We won't go back to the way things were... ever.”
“ No? And why is that?” He asked a little more sharply than he had planned.
“Because it shouldn't happen, understand that.”
“Well, but I don't understand.” He muttered. “And what are you going to do about it now? Are you going to file another complaint against me?”
“Y-you know it was me?”
“I wasn't sure, but now I am.” He lied. “Why did you do it, huh Y/N?” He asked, and his hand returned to your thigh again. He squeezed you tighter than he intended, at which you let out a quiet moan.
“I...” You started but didn't know what you should answer him yourself. You swallowed your saliva, and his hand began to move higher and higher up your thigh.
“You what, hm?” He asked, turning the car into one of the alleys. He continued to massage your skin with his thumb, causing a slight goosebump. “Did you think they would catch me like this? That they would lock me up in jail? That you would get away from me?”
“ W-what...? Minho it's not like that, I just...” You started, not knowing what to answer completely.
“You just what? Hm? What kitten, have you suddenly run out of words?” He asked with a slight smile.
Before you knew it, Minho had turned off the car's engine, stopping in a dark alley, and the back of the seat you were sitting on was laid down. The man pushed back your seat as far as possible and unbuckled your seatbelt. Before you knew it, your hands were tied with the seatbelt just above your head. And although for him, the position you were in was completely uncomfortable, due to the small amount of space, he still couldn't complain.
The sight of you completely defenseless and bound beneath him excited him greatly. You looked up at him with big eyes. Minho leaned over you slightly.
“I miss you, you know?” He whispered in your ear and moved his hand over your cheek, pushing back a strand of hair.
“Minho... please.” You whispered quietly terrified.
“What are you asking for, kitten?” His sensual voice had a mesmerizing effect on you. He gently ran his soft lips from your ear to your collarbone. “You don't even know how much I would like to take advantage of this situation right now... But no, it's not time yet.” He added and moved away from you, returning to his seat. The car's engine started running again. However, you continued to remain strapped down.
“Untie me.” You said after a while breaking the silence.
“Hm... no.” He replied with a slight smile.
“Minho, untie me.” You repeated nervously and tugged at your belt. You didn't know by what miracle he managed to tie you with it so that you could barely move your hands.
“I'm not going to... we're going to my place.” He replied calmly.
“What, but I...”
“You have nothing to talk about, kitten. I already told you, you are mine and mine alone.”
He decided to take you to his place. To his property outside the city, which, apart from him and his friend Han, no one knew about. The position you were in was so uncomfortable that you didn't realize where he was actually taking you.
On the one hand, you were afraid of him. You didn't know what he would do with you. You were afraid that he would go further and hurt you. But on the other hand, even though you didn't want to admit it, you missed him as much as he did. And a month without his touch was a torture for you. He had made you dependent on him and didn't even realize it. Or at least that's what you thought. However, only Lee Minho knew what it was really like.
You sighed heavily. It's going to be a long night, you thought. Because you hoped it would be just one night....

Saiyan: Hey, let me just drop this on you real quick. Mina had one last look at her internal diagnostics, just to be safe. Breathing normal, heartbeat back to acceptable levels, no hormonal glands going haywire on her... everything seemed alright, but medical checkups were always... hard, so she'd rather make sure.
"Ah, there you are!" She blinked, then looked down to meet the eyes of a certain blonde. "I was wondering where you went off to!"
"Oh, uh, hi Senpai!" She gave him a quick smile. "Did Midori send you or something?" He probably noticed her going off. Him or Inko-san. They have both been watching her like hawks ever since that... whole thing. Uh, the more recent one, that is.
"Not quite!" He replied to her smile with his own. "But someone DID want to talk to you!" He gestured further down where... oh. "I'll just leave you two to it!" With that, he left the room, leaving just her and Eri. The girl... didn't really say anything at first. Is... is she waiting for Mina to start? Or is she scared? She wouldn't blame her, somethi- someone like her going all out was... not the nicest thing to see. Mina shook her head, then crouched down. She made a few quick changes to her body as she did so, towering height decreasing and muscle melting away into something softer and cuddlier. "Hey there!" She smiled at her, tone quieter. "Did you want to see me?"
Eir blinked like she couldn't quite believe what she was seeing. "...You came back."
"Well... you came to me, actually!"
"No, you- before, you promised you'd come back." She started trembling. "And after Overhaul made you go away, you came back from that, too."
"Well... yeah, I did! I promised, didn't I?" She... really shouldn't have let him get that hit, now that her head was a bit clearer. It's just... when she saw someone else who was just like Mas- like M- like... Ga... ra... ki... She couldn't think straight. "It's really hard to make me go away!" And, since it was somehow something she was worried about. "So, you better get used to me! 'Cause I'm not going anywhere!"
A white blur rushed into her, the impact barely registering. Mina froze, not... really sure what to do. After a while, she wrapped her hands around the smaller girl, using her tail to raise some of the white hair. "You have really pretty hair, you know that? How about we do something with it?" She didn't really know how to do stuff like this, but she figured Instant Expert would take care of that part. Eri didn't agree with words, but a small nod and her turning around was just as good. She started working, hands moving with muscle memory that wasn't there just a second ago. All the while, she curled her tail around the girl, turning the very tip of it into different things to distract her. After a while, she had an idea. It... will probably not work, but she might as well try. "Hey... can I ask you something?" She waited until the girl hummed in reply. "How many tiles did the ceiling have?" A gasp was enough to know she hit it on the head. With careful words, the smaller girl replied. "...Four tens. And five more." Mina hummed, her hands stopping for a moment. "...Mine had six tens." Counting them was the only thing she could do on that table. ...At least, after she figured out how to turn off her pain receptors...

"Well, yeah, we do. But not that much. Usually taxes, building code crap, and contract info. I actually take care of that last bit since I'm usually the one making the contracts." He replies, shrugging. He doesn't do much, but it still shouldn't be that much. Then, an idea about why Stolas might get a lot crosses his mind.
"Stolas, do the other Goetia send you their paperwork for you to deal with?" He asks. The idea came to him when he thought about how little respect the prince gets from his family. It wouldn't be surprising if this was their way of tormenting him.
Blitz was really unused to being given things for free without expecting anything in return. So he needed to be kinda...eased into this still. Being cared for, given things just out of love, and being loved in general. It was all so new, and he was so...afraid of it all going to shit.
"Well, I'm betting it'll be good. But uhh...how busy do you seriously get? I know they saddle your ass with a fuck ton of paperwork, but does it really take that long?" He asks confused. How long does paperwork normally take? He usually has Moxxie taking care of it for the agency, but is it really that bad?

[OOC rant about HL rp space here on tumblr: Wanted to mention this for a while but engagement requires... engagement. The more rp blogs exchange asks, the more pathways there are to communicate, to create a net of connections, make characters and the world around them come to life. Over the past year and a half I sent hundreds of asks, in anon/as me/as my characters. I understand being shy. I've been there, and it took some great people in this community to get me out of my shell.
But it is just what it is: unfortunately, if there is no reciprocity, there is no dialogue.
You don't have to wait for a green light/talk in DMs first with creating an rp scenario to send anyone an ask or to initiate rp by tagging someone. You can if it makes you more comfortable but don't have to. Most of us have Rules of Engagement but that's all the pre-requisites.
Before I burned out, I sent people asks just to make them happy, give some interactions for their characters. I wanted to find out more about MCs/OCs. But at this point (and I am not alone in this) whenever this turns into a one-sided communication, I am bothered by it, and I stop sending asks after a while.
I get that if I do it with anons, people won't know who to reply to. But even starting small, sending an ask or two for at least some rp people, so that we know you want to engage — it means a lot. It makes us want to continue playing in this HL sandbox.]
#rant#hl rp#I probably sound kind of meh here#But I stopped actively engaging with people after a number of those situations#I just don't have the energy for everyone and it's discouraging in general since I shouldn't be the only one reaching out#But I am happy where I am now#This rant does not apply to gremlins and my close friends and shippies and everyone who does not have an rp blog specifically#Also probably doesn't apply if we recently rped or you still have unanswered asks#I've seen people talk about feeling left out but unless they make steps forward and continue to do so nobody else can fix it for them#As a side note I have plenty of asks yet to reply so this is not me “asking” for asks#There's nothing worse than people taking this rant the wrong way
