Welcome to the Pokemon Ask Blog Community!

A few people have been asking for a guide on how to make a blog, so I figured I'd whip up one. While there's no 'right' or 'wrong' way to blog, typically all ask blogs follow a formula of sorts, so here goes:

The community has had its fair share of unpleasant people come through the doors, and generally speaking we don't really appreciate it very much. The majority of people here are LGBT+ in some form and are generally very accepting of everyone, but there are some lines we don't cross here.

Everyone of all ages is welcome. Everyone of any creed or race is welcome, but basic human respect is basically a rule here and you will be found out if you're any of the above. This is not just a warning, it's a promise.

Having a Pinned post with all your basic links is a MUST for an ask blog. If you want people to be able to find your characters or send you asks, this is the easiest way to do so.

The amount of times I've seen artists burn out because they want every single ask to be a masterpiece of art is pretty much 70% of the community as a whole. Your art doesn't have to be your magnum opus. You're here to have fun, you're here to doodle. Don't burn yourself out.

Furthermore, most of us are visual people, so make sure to have a simple, straightforward description of your character's appearance in their profile if you do not have art of them.

As a note, do not use coloured words too much in your posts. Some of us are epileptic or visually impaired and highly dislike it. Occasional use for emphasis, like the bold option, is fine.

It's not an exact science, as sometimes things just don't go that way, but the more you interact, generally speaking the better chance you have of being seen.

An optional choice too is to join many of the Discord servers that are around for the community, if you'd like that. ^^~

A very useful addition to Tumblr was the add on for images! Hover over an image until you see the three '...' in the bottom right hand corner, and hit 'Update Image Description'.

You can't be expected to know everyone's triggers, but the basic ones are usually death, sexual references, gore, and anything with flashing lights or images, as demonstrated in the above tags. It's at the mod's discretion as to what they choose to cover, and most of us will ask in the comments section or ask box if we'd like a tag added to any posts you make. Most people will be nice enough to honour it if the request is reasonable.

The idea of Manfred just, innocently as can be, ruining surprises and secrets between Papa and Mama. Like any little kid.🤣

Example: Guinevere making herself a custom lingerie set decorated in choice grave gold pieces Emmrich has lavished upon her. She plans to surprise him on his birthday night. Manfred finds it first, is drawn to it because of the glitter and shine, of course, and assumes it's some sort of special mage armor. Cue him rushing out from the house's interior somewhere to greet Emmrich dressed in a glittery, jingling lingerie set bearing a train and dripping in gold.🤣

What does he ruin for Belismrich?

HELLLP, that's is so precious. Manfred having these silly, whimsical little moments of pure joy as he explores the world fills is so wonderful to imagine. He's a spirit of Curiosity, after all! It's only natural that he seek out treasures and oddities and then share them.

Like you said, I'm sure this leads to a few spoiled surprises, haha. The little guy has hones his exploration skills from helping Emmrich explore the Necropolis, so you know he's got some experience sneaking into places and training his eyes on details.

OHHHH MANFRED, DARLINGGG LMAO.

Listen, you know ... sometimes you find armor while hunting in dungeons. It's gold. It's shiny. So, he finds this set, and his first thought is that it's very rare gear. It's gold, too! Gold is valuable! Papa taught him that.

So he dons it and parades out joyfully, arms raised happily. "Look! Treasure!"

Emmrich, who was browsing his library for books, practically drops the stack at the display. "M-Manfred! Where did you...?"

"Grave gold!" He does a twirl to emphasize the train. "Pretty! Like Mama!"

"V-Very much so, my dear boy, but..."

He has to fight back a laugh and try very hard to be stern, but ohhhh, it's so hard. He can't stop grinning.

"Manfred? Where did you find that?" He knows from where, of course. It's not his or Manfred's after all, and let's just say he's familiar enough with that cup size to know it from a glance, haha.

"Wardrobe! In back!"

"Oh, dear. I'll have to warn G'iney to not hide her projects there."

He tells G'iney, of course. To keep an honest dialogue between them, but also ... because it is pretty hilarious, haha. He does ask Manfred to apologize, and promise to not go through people's clothes anymore. Chests in a home are not the same as chests in a dungeon, haha.

"I'm sorry, my dear," he tells her with a bashful smile. "I'm sure you were hiding it for a reason. I took care to avert my gaze as much as I could, but from what I saw? You have outdone yourself again."

He'd still very much like to see her in it for the occasion she had planned. "If the mood still moves you, my beloved."

And thanks to Manfred? He already has some knowledge of how to take it off~ Which will come in handy. Well, at least, after a few rounds. ;)

Oh, what does Manny do for Belismerich?

Hmmm ... okay, remember my hc that Emmrich really enjoys studying Isma's form? Especially while she dances, he loves to observe her muscles and anatomy at work. Each movement of hers is pure art to him, even on an anatomical level.

He sketches her often. While she dances, relaxes, etc.

Well, let's just say, perhaps Manfred finds these sketches? And he likes them. ("That's Mama! Pretty!")

What does Emmrich do when Manfred gets positive marks? He posts the paper for all to see.

So...later that day, Isma and Emmrich are returning from a ritual one day, and Emmrich sees a familiar drawing on a light post. Emmrich recognizes it, and grabs it before Isma can see.

"What was...?"

"N-Nothing!"

Then, one light up, there are two more. And more drawings are on the fence leading to his lodgings. The papers have drawn some small, inquisitive crowds of students.

"Are those me?" she asks, very confused.

Emmrich, who knows that they are but is VERY confused as to what they're doing pasted across the city, just keeps grabbing them while leading Isma home very quickly.

Whey reach the front door, Manfred throws it open happily. "Surprise!"

The intimate drawings were (thankfully) placed indoors only, haha. Ones of her laying supine, breasts bare, lips parted, long hair flowing unbound. Some of her sleeping. Some of her arms, her legs; all the finer points of her anatomy.

"Yay! Proud!"

Poor Emmrich can barely stay conscious from the rush of blood to his cheeks, all while Isma coos and gently thanks Manfred, urging him to bring his papa his chair while she desperately tries to calm his blush.

"F-Forgive me, darling. I-I intended to show them to you for our anniversary."

All is well, as Belisma is so honored by his devotion, that she vows to give him much more source material in time for their celebration. And for that day, Emmrich keeps the drawings in a locked drawer.

Hello! So i’ve recently become a little fan of yours from your small, silly tadc comics and im just wondering how you come up with them and generally just how you make them (like how you set up scenes and what not lol). I’m pretty new to procreate and digital art as a whole and wanted some little tips since i’ve sort of hit a wall with trying to make comics digitally.

I'm so glad you've enjoyed the comics - Oh boy so -

How I come up with them: Most of the time I have a central idea I want to explore like 'What If Caine had the Players go through a Grueling Medieval Adventure with a Promise of a REWARD, but the Reward is literally the thing they want least (Princess Caine smooches, anyone?') or 'What if Ragatha was the one to do something Really Bad (descriptive, right?) because It's hard to imagine she, out of everyone there, ever would' .

Most start out super loosely, not super planned out, and with a rough bit of dialogue written down (Not for the Princess Caine one...and you can tell, the dialogue is repetitive and meh, I came up with on the spot lmfao)

As for setting up scenes: Most of the time I very roughly plot out each page/panel/ 'scene', trying to figure out the angle that will give me the emotion I'd like to portray most.

Something as simple as this, I meant to evoke a sort of 'tired, long journey come to a close' sort of vibe with a flat distance shot without detail and sleepy coloration. Almost cozy idk

I purposefully left out Ragatha's facial expressions here and foreword to give a bit of unease in her decision, and angled shots down at Jax to give the impression that he's not in charge here. For once he needs her help. (there's no way he couldn't have climbed that himself tho asdjhdlsdh)

I aLSO only put detail into panels where I wanted to evoke the most feeling. Some panels took literally 5 mins, others a lot longer. Pick your battles!

Not great examples? But both of these I made pretty quickly without too much plotting - just a 'strong' central idea I wanted to explore. I hope that gets the idea across!

Honestly I almost didn't post the Ragatha and Jax one - didn't like how it came out! But I did anyways and most seem to enjoy it, even if it's highly non-canon and a little iffy. (I also didn't plan each 'scene' out, just doodled only enough pictures to get the idea across, it could have benefitted from more but...eh.)

I'd say just GO FOR IT when it comes to comics! Try to get a strong idea or emotion across, it doesn't have to be a super detailed or long comic. Don't worry about how people take it, people have different opinions. The important thing is you learn with every page you post! Look at lots o' references, or just explode colors and shapes over the page (A healthy mix of both, perhaps); sounds lame but most importantly make sure YOU are having fun with this!

have been thinking about professor sol even. professor bufo with no clearly discernable lesson plan. sol bufo ostensibly martial arts professor who spent two weeks running a yoga and meditation program and shows up to the next class with crochet hooks for everyone. professor bufo who is technically supposed to be assigning grades to students but hasnt given anyone less than an A because "i think they worked really hard and they did a great job :)" (referring to the ugliest and most malformed pot holder anyone has laid eyes upon in their life). professor bufo who is on his way to cluelessly kickstart the sexual awakening of about half the cohort of the academys new students. sol bufo adjunct professor who is gone half the year and his first class back is so immediately and easily baited into going into a long tangent about how cool his friends are. sol who is pretty sure hes easily the most useless professor on campus and almost cries when he sees his little desk overflowing with thank you notes at the end of the year. professor bufo absolutely fucking gloriously hot in the tightest little sweater vest because there were faculty complaints when he wore a crop top to class.

Thought I'd share some territory concepts I've been working on! Both for Coyoteclan and a second clangen blog I've been debating, which is set in the wild west :)

I'll write a little blurb for each little area under the cut for those curious about these locations (and separate images)

Coyoteclan

Fallen-Tree Coyoteclan's Leader den and clan meeting place. The tree is ancient and hollow, the entrance coated in the scratches of long-gone cats. The Leader calls meetings from atop the tree, while the deputy sits on the rocks below.

Thunder River A small collection of waterfalls that eventually lead to the sea. From here, you can hear an ominous, melodic sound coming from the beach.

Graves of the Fallen The resting place for Coyoteclan cats. Coyoteclan prefer to commune with their dead here, but still go with the other healers during halfmoon.

Sweetwater Wilds

Trail of Blood Untamed land filled with bandits and danger. Not only are there plenty of predatory animals living here, but it's a popular hiding place for many outlaws.

Canyon of Stars A place for communing with the stars. Sheriffs and Healers visit often for guidance, though some bandits are known to come here in secret.

Hareshade's Dawn Not really a place but this is the Sheriff of Sweetwater Wilds lol I really like her but she's SO TRANSPHOBIC she is BULLYING the only trans cat in the clan and I cannot stop her

Started writing a fic back in early October and had to abandon it for a while due to IRL situations. But I've started working on it again little by little, and I am so excited to eventually share it with my mutuals and followers. I hope you guys enjoy it (I am trying my best to get it done)!

TBH my only motivation anymore is thinking about my friends having a good time reading it when it's finally posted (I love all of you very much). I cannot wait for all of these ideas to be fleshed-out on paper at last.

Over 16,000 words and I am nowhere near satisfied yet. I feel like I can write WAY more. Stay tuned!

i have to admit that i'm kind of scared to say this. i've held this thought to myself for a bit but. honestly, i'm unsure how i feel about people demonizing the concept of voicing & having criticism towards fanganronpas as a response to proclaimed fans of fanganronpas who have criticism rooted in bad-faith that is expressed disrespectfully. to say criticism, even when it is constructive, is less needed due to fangans being "less established" is—although understandable to an extent—simplistic thinking to me as it disregards context.

fanganronpas aren't established media—they may not have much impact to the general population as they are not promoted in established industries. yet there will be impact that is noteworthy regardless as not only it has its roots and inspiration from already established media, but also its apart of a niche community that is an extension of a larger community (danganronpa). let alone a niche community that is built on taking inspiration from other projects that are established or not.

criticizing fanganronpas extends to being criticism towards danganronpa, then to tropes the series uses which exists outside of that series. and what i'd argue is the most important—criticism towards fanganronpas act as inspiration for other fanganronpa creators and can be an expression of your love towards the series. for people to demean all criticism as unneeded and a character flaw of somebody, to just group up criticisms rooted in love or concerns for representation with ones fundamentally in bad-faith, and to just disregard the complexities of criticism by reducing it to one form—is harmful.

this thinking towards criticism leans towards being exclusive when at times they can also be concerns for how a fangan may use tropes that perpetuate harmful beliefs ingrained in society and/or contribute to (common) limiting tropes attached to minorities in media . i feel wary to voice or even have criticisms towards my own representation that is commonly disregarded or stereotypical (with those stereotypes stemming from harmful and dehumanizing beliefs) in fanganronpas and danganronpa. my concerns of how black, tanned & brown or women, girls, & femmes or how queer characters are represented in fanganronpas don't just stop there. they don't just stop at danganronpa either. they extend to the representation outside of that art, because both fanganronpas (and danganronpa) are impacted by media (and society) outside of danganronpa.

i don't know how to feel really. i don't always have criticism, all of my spaces (like this blog) is not built from my criticisms on fangans, i don't always feel the desire or need to attempt at spreading my criticism around with tags and all, i don't always desire or need to attempt at bringing significant impact with my criticisms. yet still, i partially feel unwelcomed in the fanganronpa community just for having criticisms sometimes, even towards things that really matter. seeing how my race and skintone is represented in both danganronpa & fangans AND how fans in both of their communities respond to that representation & people who voice their concerns of that respresentation have made me disillusioned to the concept of a total "positive" space that doesn't allow criticism for the sake of comforting those who might not even be affected by the representation that *needs* to be criticized.

i feel too complicated about the discussion. i also dont think this way of thinking towards criticism also gets to the root of those proclaimed fans of fanganronpas who express their nonconstructive criticisms in harshness—which is entitlement, at times unhealthy parasocial relationships with the creator, and wanting to feel "owed" by the creator that is so insanely common in fandoms. its not that theyre voicing or having criticisms in the first place, its how they voice it or have criticisms based on negative attitudes with no valid depth behind it (which may disregard the narrative for the sake of personal tastes). instead, this thinking towards criticism risk shutting down vaild criticisms and concerns about the harm fangans may perpetuate and how they can contribute to regressive representation of minorities.
