I really adore the casually prioritized importance of friendships in the new Twisters movie. Like obviously there were sparks of romance that i thoroughly enjoyed but the point is that that was never the point. The way that Javi and Kate took care of each other and looked out for each other even when they were fighting. The way the whole tornado wranglers crew acted like family and welcomed Kate right in. The way Tyler was genuinely interested in getting to know Kate and working together with her. There was no big fight between Javi and Tyler over Kate or anybody else. Kate spent the whole movie processing a lot of trauma and was able to be supported by the friends surrounding her instead of having all of her interactions stopped up with an intense budding romance. I just really love it when friendship and people are the most important things.

The Ghoul sewing Lucy's finger onto his hand... right after she gave him the meds he needs to not turn Feral... aka after he's shown kindness, maybe for the first time in decades, a century, more... after he's going through flashbacks of his pre-war life... after we see how sweet his daughter was...

Is it a fucked up way for him to a) remember a moment of kindness and quite literally embody it, and, b) a way for a dad to carry something of his daughter that he's proud of (ie the moment Lucy showed she had what it took to survive)

You cannot tell me Cooper isn't gonna become Lucy's new dad.

By killing her mum in a mercy kill, she's doing exactly what the Ghoul did to Roger. She's learnt from him. She has turned into him. When she said, "I'll never be you," maybe that's not true. And in that moment, when she shoots her mum, it means so many things. It means 'I'm coming with you.' It means. 'I f*cking hate you, but I have turned into you, you were right.' It means she's letting go of her golden centre. I want the audience at the end of the show to wonder if their hero is still a good person. I don't know who she's gonna be in season two, but this is what happens when you break the unbreakable. I don't know who she's about to become.
