One of my favorite things about the ASL Brothers is the fact that Ace was the one brought out the sake and proposed becoming brothers.
Not Luffy or Sabo but Ace.
Ace, who believes he is unlovable, Ace who believes that his blood is dirty, Ace who believes that he didn’t deserve to be born, Ace who thinks that his life is worthless, Ace who believes that his mere existence is a crime.
And yet Ace saw these two boys and approached them without apprehension or fear of rejection even though he was proposing something as irrevocable, something as bonding as brotherhood
#not to mention ace had these thoughts bc this is how the WORLD sees him#that world put these thoughts into his head and made him believe that#but sabo and luffy only see him. not gol d. or even portgas d. but just ace.#the way ace knew that they wanted this just as much as he did#like he is theirs and they are his and he knew that#i remember learning that ace proposed it and being *so surprised*#cause we had just seen that ace had no self worth and hated himself#but he knew that they accepted him and that they wanted him in their lives#and he decided to make it permanent#they are his family. they are his safe place. they love him unconditionally.#DO YOU GUYS GET WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY#goddd these brothers make me so ill#it’s 2am so if this doesn’t make sense that’s why#i am thinking so many thoughts#i’ll probably delete this later#portgas d. ace#asl brothers#one piece#concha speaks#asl rambles#concha posts

I just watched MelonTeee's video on Ace and Worth and man the internal debate I have with myself on whether I agree with the choice or not...
Her video explains the fandom's love for the character so well, as well as why the tragedy hit so hard. For me personally I have not been that affected by a character death in a LONG time.
And I understand it from a certain narrative perspective – mainly how Ace's past continues to feature in the story a decade later, and Whitebeard's line that someone would carry Ace's flame, because that clearly describing Luffy. He goes after the mera mera no mi and finishes what Ace started in Wano.
But there are two major narrative reasons given for Ace's death that I disagree with. And are largely why I think it shouldn't have happened, and also why the death has hit me so hard.
This is going to get long, but I would really love to hear everyone's thoughts on it if you choose to read!
To give Luffy the push he needed to be stronger: I am pretty confident this is Oda's stated reason (in addition to Oda wanting to prove he could kill characters which I guess he said at one point and which is bleh given the level of injury a character sustains seems to have nothing to do with whether they die or not lol it's just what the author wants to happen). Anyway. That push already happened on Sabaody when Luffy lost everyone to Duma. He was HELPLESS. More helpless than he was through most of marineford. And when Rayleigh convinces Luffy to do the 2 years training, Rayleigh only brings up their epic defeat on Sabaody. He does not bring up marineford or Ace's death as a reason Luffy needs to get stronger. Because Luffy did not need that reason. The only argument I can think of is that maybe once he landed on Amazon Lily, and he realized the strawhats were likely alive, the terror he felt on Sabaody abated slightly. And therefore maybe he needed a reminder of what "loss" truly is to re-motivate him. However, I don't think that is really fitting with his character or the story.
Ace's dream was fulfilled: Oda has talked about the reason he doesn't kill villains is because not having your dream fulfilled is a worse fate than death. I think part of the tragedy of Ace's death was that his dream wasn't fulfilled. Even for those who accept his last words - that he had only one regret which was not seeing Luffy accomplish his dream - the amount of time he got to live with that dream was literally the last moments of his life. But I don't think just because you die with no regrets, does not mean your dream is fulfilled. Especially when Ace never truly internalized what his dream was. His final choice to turn around showed HOW MUCH he still was that lonely, scared little kid he was at 10 despite his warm smile and his growing family. The most heartbreaking part of the flashback was not Sabo's death. It was watching Ace asking the question "do I deserve to exist?" and giving all his devotion to those who said yes. It was him making the exact same decision he would make 10 years later, to refuse to run, because he felt like if he ran he would lose everything and Luffy was standing behind him. Ace's final words do more than state he has no regrets. He also gives the answer to the question he'd asked Garp, and that Garp had said only his actions could decide. Ace died thanking Luffy and his family for loving him despite the "worthless" or "good for nothing" person he was. Ace was moved to tears to hear his family emphatically saying "YES. You do deserve to live! We want you to live!" But Ace never actually believed it. His last words were a reflection of gratitude for the love he was given that he didn't feel he deserved. And thus his final answer to the question "Do I deserve to exist?" was no.
That he was too "good" This is kind of the most upsetting one I've heard (thankfully not a lot) and also the one easiest to dismiss. Ace, being the actual son of the pirate king, being super powerful, growing in strength and reputation faster than Luffy (debatable), put him narratively in competition with Luffy. What I mean by that is it positions him as too much the golden character, the mary sue, the typical protagonist, when One Piece is about Luffy's story, not Ace's. I disagree with the premise of seeing Ace's character that way. But also even he was "that" character, it's pretty clear Ace's dream would have taken him to becoming Whitebeard's heir - whose dream it was to build a family - while Luffy is Gol D Roger's heir. So Ace's journey would have supported the main story of One Piece and also be narratively satisfying.
---
What Was Ace's Dream?
The dreams Ace stated out loud were more reflections of his actual, deeper dream. "I want to be the king of the pirates" - because he wanted to prove his existence and his worth to the world. Which switched to "I want to make whitebeard the king of the pirates" - because Whitebeard loved him despite his blood, and so even if that wasn't what Whitebeard wanted, it was how Ace understood he could repay Whitebeard.
Both of those stated dreams get back to this question he'd been asking his whole life - that of worth. Worth and Love, which, for Ace's character, are inseparable.
For Ace's dream to truly be fulfilled, it's not enough for him to accept he was loved – which he did on the scaffolds, crying from happiness – he had to believe he was worth that love. He had to love himself.
Ace died with that dream tragically unfulfilled.
---
The Purpose of One Piece
Of course the decision to kill Ace makes the story more realistic and of course it is heartbreaking, tragic, moving, and obviously inspires deeper discussion.
However, what rankled me from when I first learned about his death, which was way before I was even introduced to the character in Alabasta, was that he is the only character of the younger generation (outside of flashbacks) to die.
Honestly when I first heard Ace was one of the only characters to die, I was just worried it would make him seem weaker or stupider than every other character, which is a personal pet peeve of mine. Luckily for most fans, it didn't do that.
Instead, what wound up upsetting me was how it seemed to contradict the purpose of the story that is One Piece (at least what I think the purpose is). In doing so, it opposes the meaning that many fans find in this absurd, ridiculous, inspiring, heartfelt, heroic tale about a boy made of rubber.
One Piece is an escapist story about a boy named Luffy who inspires every good guy he meets to pursue and achieve their dream. It's also about Luffy beating up every bad guy who punishments are that they cannot fulfill their morally reprehensible dreams.
Because of Ace's premature death, he is the only good guy character in the main timeline who does not get to pursue his dream. And what's extra tragic is that he is also one of the most deserving of seeing his dream fulfilled.
#portgas d ace#can you tell i'm having a day#happy 4th to those who celebrate lololol#one piece#this got WAY too long#asl brothers#marineford#monkey d. luffy#would love to hear everyone's thoughts in the replies#portgas d. ace#firefist ace#fire fist ace#one piece ace#oh just had another thought about Ace and putting it here#part of his whole declaration as a kid with Sabo and Luffy and wanting to make a name for himself#was he wanted to be out of the shadow of his father#and for him I think that was a large part of his worth#because his dad was ‘worthless’ and hated and people celebrated his death#that meant Ace was worthless and shouldn’t have been born#and so it’s another aspect of his ‘dream’ that didn’t get realized#because Sengoku made sure that when Ace died all the world would see was Gol d Roger’s son finally being caught#and killed like he should have been when he was a baby

“People will hate me.” It’s not a question.
Shanks knew that being a pirate would not make him loved, exactly. He was prepared for people to hate him because of that decision. But this wasn’t a decision he had any control over! It wasn’t fair!
His father–what a strange thing to call a man he had no memory of (and wasn’t the man before him, Roger, his father anyway?)–was a bad man. And not bad in the way that people thought pirates were bad. Celestial Dragons hurt people. Though not overly familiar with them, Shanks had heard more than enough to gauge that much.
They kept slaves. And killed anyone who they thought was beneath them. They thought they were gods.
Tears sting at his eyes and he tries to rub them away before they fall. He’d never liked crying in front of his Captain.
“I don’t want people to hate me because of him.” But they would. Would Buggy hate him, too, if he found out? The mere thought put knots in his stomach. Not many people knew where he came from–even most of those on the crew didn't. It would be a secret. “Does Rayleigh hate me?” he asks, voice shaking. And the worst yet: “D–do you?” He didn’t, did he? How cruel it would be. Shanks stared up at Roger, eyes large and wet with tears.
“I–I just wanna be a pirate.”
✧. He watched in rare silence as Shanks spoke, his figure looming as he stood tall over the child, hands hanging loose by his side. Standing, waiting, forcing himself still from reaching out and wrapping his arms around his boy. His heart twisting in his chest at Shanks’ tears as he allowed the boy the chance to speak.
And if he were truthful, he still couldn’t wrap his mind around why it seemed to be of such significance for Shanks to be of Celestial Dragon blood, regardless of how hard Rayleigh — or even Garp — had tried to hammer it into his head. Yet, looking at the sheer distraught upon Shanks’ face, perhaps he could still begin to understand.
At Shanks’ admission, with a silent breath, he reached down and rested his head upon his boy’s head, its steady weight a gesture of comfort shared countless times, and one that would be shared countless times more.
“ Some will hate you for it, if they were to learn, yes, ” blunt but not cold. Never cold, “ People within this world can be fools. They judge for reasons unworthy of judgment. They would believe one’s fate is decreed within blood and flesh, rather than soul, ” he smiled, small and rueful, “ We have seen such hatred and indifference time and time again, and we will continue to see such beliefs, regardless of how shortsighted they may be. ”
He would never understand it, not fully, not personally, but he'd witnessed more than enough atrocities to know it as reality and to loathe it. Yet that was neither here nor there. Getting down to one knee, Roger moved his hand from the top of Shanks’ head down to his cheek. Time and time again, it struck him just how small his boy was. Grown, certainly, though still he remained so incredibly young. How tragic it was that fear cared not for such things.
“ Yet, you tell me you wish to be a pirate, is that not so ? ” he carried on, his smile widening just a touch, crinkling the corners of his eyes, “ Well, Shanks, you see, that is the beauty of piracy. It is a choice. The choice for freedom. The choice to answer only to that which we desire, no matter that which tries to impede us, as blood holds no power of the Sea, for she takes and claims without care. ”
That was what he’d grown to learn, to trust. He had no memory of his own parents, nor did he find care for whether they lived still or existed at all. He was raised by the streets of Loguetown and the Voices of the Earth, the Fire, and the Sea. They were what he knew, and they were what he believed. If only all could hear what he did. Perhaps then Shanks would know no doubt, but it wouldn’t stop him from trying anyway, cupping his boy’s face with both hands with expression turning serious.
“ Trust that your blood has never mattered to me, and I swear to you that Rayleigh feels the same, ” his voice held no trace of hesitation. After all, why would he doubt when Shanks was theirs ? And Roger knew that he and Rayleigh would both fight till their last breaths to keep stake of such claim, “ Trust that, no matter what you desire, no matter what you choose, I could never hate you, ” a simple fact of life, to even think of otherwise would be sacrilege, “ My boy, there is nothing in this world that could change how much I care for you. ”
His conviction as true as the sunrise, staring at Shanks as if he could will his boy into believing him. After a pause, his expression gentled, thumb wiping away a tear from his boy’s face as his smile grew a touch wistful and his eyes flickered up towards familiar straw hat.
“ That much I promised you when I gave you this hat here, ” his voice mirthful, a faux whisper as though he were sharing a secret, “ It was my treasure, you know ? Not just any, but the first. From the very day I knew that this life of mine would be the one I’d follow. I've known it for even longer than I’ve known Rayleigh. No crown which dons this hat could be unworthy of my love or unworthy of the freedom the Sea swears to us. ”
He recalled it had come to a surprise to all, even to himself, how easily he’d given that which he’d always so closely kept guarded of in order to try and calm the toddler they'd been bestowed responsibility of. A decision he'd never once regretted and never will. And he knew the crew had seen it as confirmation that Shanks was theirs, regardless of blood, if they hadn't already.
“ I hadn’t found any importance for the others to know ” his head inclining to the side, “ But if you wish, we can tell the crew of it all tomorrow. They will not despise you over something so out of your control, my boy. I would hope to have trusted better men than that, ” both Rayleigh and Gaban were aware, and he wouldn’t be surprised if others — those who’d been there that eventful week — knew as well. He wasn’t certain, but they had all chosen and were chosen by him for a reason.
“ They would not mind, but know this, Shanks, that if any were to show stubborn issue over it, they are not, and have never been, welcomed upon this ship of mine, ” it wouldn’t come to it, he already knew, and how he hoped Shanks knew as well. Yet if he didn’t, than at least he know know that Roger would always stand by him, “ Know that you are safe here, my boy. Know that you are loved. ”

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need to Ask For Help, It's On Garp
i always hate when i see comments about how ace was an idiot or ace should have just asked garp for help because, no? like dawg wtf do you mean?
the one thing we have been told repeatedly across the manga and anime is that ace could have lived his entire life being perfect and he still would have ended up on that podium
he could have become a marine, a police officer, a teacher, a chef and all of that would have been reduced to nothing the moment his parentage was discovered
yes, ace became a pirate of his own volition, but sengoku never mentioned his piracy
he never mentioned all the criminal activity ace did as the captain of the spade pirates or even later as the second division leader of the whitebeard pirates
you know what sengoku did bring up though the moment he got on that damn podium? ace's parentage
he mentions nothing that gained ace his bounty to begin with when he gets that den den mushi in his hand. why?
because it doesn't matter that ace is a pirate. what matters is that they are eradicating the last gol d roger's bloodline
bear in mind that they were killing pregnant women and young children who could have even had the slightest possibility of being roger's lover or kin
akainu deadass says that he doesn't care if every other pirate at marineford escapes as long as ace and luffy died and he would ensure their deaths personally. and for what? not their piracy. none of their crimes. not even for ensuring that the truth that certain countries and lands that were actually saved by pirates instead of the marines never got out
but because their fathers were gol d roger and monkey d dragon respectively
solely because of that, he deemed neither of them deserved to live
and as far as garp goes - i love garp as much as the next person but garp has never done anything for ace to trust him enough to ask for help even if he felt he deserved to ask
garp's negligent parenting coupled with the abusive words ace grew up hearing led ace to believe he didn't even deserve to be born. when he even asks garp if his being born was a good thing, garp can't even tell him 'yes'. he just says 'time will tell'. my brother in the blue seas, that is an elementary schooler questioning his right to exist
ace is defeated by blackbeard in episode 325 (chapters 434-441), luffy hears about his execution being set in episode 416 (chapter 522) and then finally ace is killed in episode 483 (chapter 574). that is 158 episodes and 140 chapters total and in that time what ace receives from garp are conversations that boil down to
"you did this to yourself"
"i just wanted you to become a fine marine"
"i don't have sympathy for criminals but i do have sympathy for family"
and garp actively preventing those who wish to save ace from reaching him. yes after akainu strikes ace, garp does react viscerally with instinct to protect his grandson, but that's too little too damn late at that point
garp having his moral dilemmas mean nothing when, however long ace spent in impel down, he isn't trying to help him
garp having his 'wishing things had been different' thoughts mean nothing when garp is preventing people from saving his grandson
there's a reason garp lets dadan beat and berate him when they reunite in windmill village and it's because he knows she's right
over the course of 20 years, garp has consistently chosen work over ace and luffy. as much as i love dadan and co, bandits are not a good choice to have raise your grandkids and then be the surprised pikachu meme when neither of them wish to become marines
garp's inability to see past the system he disdains yet clings onto actively shoots him in the foot
prevents him from seeing that ace is right when he says he never could have become a marine
luffy could have never become a marine. i do hear arguments saying that luffy might have had a fair chance considering garp is biologically his grandfather but i say that's truly up in the air considering how, even with that knowledge, akainu still wants to put luffy on a poster
but that's all to say, asking why ace never asked garp for help is ridiculous
the fuck would ace look like asking the man who has done nothing but
unintentionally fostered ace's resentment towards luffy in their early childhood
told ace it was his own fault he landed where he did
falcon punched marco halfway across marineford
for help?
and that's not even mentioning the fact that up until that point, ace didn't believe he deserved to live. he didn't think he had the right to exist. the only thing that kept him going up until that point was hoping he'd find an answer that justified his being born and his love for luffy and sabo. ace tells luffy in his dying breaths if it weren't for the two of them, he would have gave up on living a long time ago
yes, garp loves ace and luffy
he loves them both dearly but he is also incapable of putting them before work, before his ideals of justice. these two truths can coexist at the same time. garp's stubborn to a fault and his moral dilemma resulted in both inaction and the prevention of ace's escape
so to say that marineford would have gone differently if ace had asked is seriously undermining the character work. because in reality, it's up in the air on whether or not that would have done anything. ace asking garp for help could have gone either way and that's the beauty of the gray area regarding garp's actions during the summit war
and yes, i can get why it's frustrating that ace turned around to fight akainu when he could have just left and got it back in a blood a different time
but aside from ace having a temper about specific topics, we do get an answer as to why he couldn't bring himself to runaway when we finally are able to dive into his past with luffy and sabo:
he doesn't want to run away from any situation because ace is deathly afraid of losing something if running away ends up being the bad call
and in that moment, luffy was behind him
even if akainu hadn't talked down whitebeard, ace would have inevitably turned back around because he wouldn't have been able to shake his fear of losing something or someone he cared about
as long as there is something precious for him to potentially lose, ace will never run
he was doomed from the start
his being the son of gol d roger doomed him from the start
and that's what makes ace so tragic
#look she's not writing#one piece#portgas d ace#fire fist ace#monkey d garp#gol d roger#monkey d luffy#sabo#revolutionary sabo#one piece sabo#animanga thoughts#ppl get too comfortable slandering my husband i had to say something#hash and i were talking about this last night#TAT like y'all tf ace need to beg garp's old ass for help for???#please explain i am confusion

Glory Hole
✨️Kink Education with Elizabeth✨️
We all probably know a glory hole is a place, typically in a bathroom, where people can pay for an anonymous sexual encounter. Here's what I didn't know before digging into this kink a lot more, though!
Glory holes have been used for hundreds of years but are believed to have originated or grown most popular among the LGBTQIA community. It was a safe way for closeted members of the community to be able to have sex with someone without risking their identity being revealed. Glory holes have resurged in popularity since 2020 due to the CDC and WHO being unable to provide people with ideas for safe sex during the Covid 19 pandemic. They can now be found in sex clubs, legal practicing brothels, and a ton of other locations. Typically, oral is what commonly happens with glory holes, but modern motivation and technology have made so much more possible with them, allowing both parties to receive pleasure and enjoy the experience.
The appeal of glory holes is the anonymous aspect of it. Sex with a stranger is always more thrilling, right? There's no expectations. You aren't as focused on impressing them. It is about pleasure and pleasure only, and that is the appeal that has made so many people fall in lust with the idea of them.
At least, Cassian will think that's pretty exciting.
💕Peep the Valentines Day List Here💕
As always, NSFW below the cut
Cassian x Reader
Warnings - reader is a sex worker, sketchy business practice, inferred danger, dp via toy use, toy use, p in v, unprotected sex, restraints, praise, Liz throwing possible fic content into what's supposed to be one shots. Sorry, friends 💕💕
You sighed as you walked into the pleasure hall for the night.
To the outside world, it was no different than Rita's. Drinks, loud music, a dance floor. The only difference was the upstairs of the hall.
Whereas Rita's had private booths, here had something much much different. For a pretty penny, only the wealthiest of guests could enter and be taken into a whole new experience kept private from the High Lord himself.
You were led up the steps, already going numb to what you had to do to pay bills, to stay alive. You entered the room males and females alike stood in. It was a haven here, a place you all could run to after one too many clients as you were asked to call them. A board with countless messages and warnings on clients who were banned sat on the largest wall. Every day, each of you received a new assignment, a new place you were to be stationed and kept until you were purchased and moved into a new room for the time allowed.
You did not know if the Mother was blessing you or mocking you as you read your assignment, “The Hole.” One of your coworkers, a new girl fresh out of school, came next to you, taking your hand. “You can take the lay down spot,” you squeezed her hand gently. “It's your first time in there. You'll want it.”
“I heard we'll make good money tonight.” You smiled at her, kissing her forehead as you walked her towards the room.
“You'll make your rent within two hours. We have an 8 hour shift, so you'll be able to safely afford recovery time off. Or a spa trip.”
Cassian hated being used by Azriel for spywork.
The general was hardly stealthy, too bold and loud to keep secrets, and frankly, everyone knew who he was. This was one spy scout out he was salivating at the idea of, though. A pleasure hall with a brothel hidden above it. A brothel that was hidden so well it and its workers had sat under Rhysand's nose for years, dodging thousands in taxes.
Nesta accidentally told Azriel about it after doing something to him that had the spymaster seeing the heavens. “A pretty female taught me when I went to Haven once.”
Haven wasn't an unknown pleasure hall to them. The inner circle would go there when they wanted more of a party atmosphere than Rita's offered, but Nesta had unknowingly confirmed a rumor that had been circling the court for years.
The large sum of gold in Cassian's pocket was a heavy reminder of why he was here. He handed the guard of the club 100 gold, a steep price just to be taken up the the brothel, and almost had a heart attack when he entered.
It was the cleanest whore house he had ever been in. The females all wore dresses similar to what Rhysand dressed Feyre in for the court of Nightmares. The men wore silk boxers. Cassian was approached by a pretty blonde with a menu of services they offered. One section stood out to him, though. “Anonymous Sex.” It was 800 gold, 2 hour time limit, a room with two females, a female and a male, or two males. “The females room please.”
The blonde smiled, head tilted almost longingly. “You're the first in there tonight. My girls will think they've been blessed with a God.”
He almost died again upon entering. Inside the large room, a wall of toys and discipline implements say, chairs in case you had brought friends with you, and a sink for aftercare for the girls. What really had Cassian stirring, thinking he was going to partake instead of question, was the two naked females, one on her back with her feet positioned into a harness, the other standing bent over whatever lied beyond that wall. All he could see was their lower bodies, wet and waiting with anticipation.
And the best part, the absolute best part? They could not see an inch of him.
You could hear the new girl crying out to any Gods that would listen as the wet sound of flesh smacking against each other was rhythmic. It was rare for one guest to enter the room normally reserved for parties of 2 or 3, but who were you to just if someone wanted to pay to have females to themselves.
It had happened once before in your time here. The female had not thought any of you would know who she was, but a sandy blonde female with grey eyes spending and tipping so freely and without concern was clearly a high ranking member of the court. And from the glimpse you had gotten, it was clearly Nesta Archeron.
You wanted to applaud when you heard your partner finishing. It was a genuine completion, not her faking the orgasm, training you all had and thanked the Cauldron for daily. You were dripping, but would have been content with being left alone. Maybe that's why you were so surprised when a harsh smack landed on your ass, cracking through the air and sending pleasure through you like a wave.
Cassian was memorizing the scent of both of the females in front of him. He wasn't going to waste the gold he had already spent to get into the brothel and into this room, so instead, he made the choice to mix work with pleasure, and fuck both of these girls until he could stand it anymore.
He left the first girl, dripping his cum and hers while she whimpered, legs visibly shaking. She had a preference for gentler sex, no aftercare. Whereas the girl, who's ass he was currently stroking himself to the sight of, had a preference for rough, toys allowed, aftercare preferred.
He saved her for last for that reason alone.
Cassian looked at the wall of toys, eyes locked on a thick dildo and lube and went to grab them. He set the lube down after taking some on his hand, rubbing it on the toys and then her pretty waiting holes. If she liked rough sex and toys, then fine, he'd stuff her full, filling both of those pretty waiting holes.
“Pretty thing, aren't you,” he purred, voice laced with lust. “We'll see how pretty you are when I'm done with you.”
You jumped in surprise and moaned as the male behind you began working a toy into your back entrance slowly. It was suddenly torture to be in the restraints they used to keep you both in place, to prevent you from ruining the allusion that the fae paying for these rooms were unknown to everyone. Every slow inch stretching had your body igniting, wanting you to beg for more.
You whimpered once it was fully inside of you, wiggling your hips in a silent plea. “Eager little thing.” That voice, Gods that voice, it had your cunt twitching around nothing. “Oh don't worry, kitten, I plan on filling that too.”
And Gods did he. That stretch started after a few sloppy thrusts of the dildo, and you could have sworn you saw the Mother once he was seated inside of you.
He either had the largest cock you've ever taken, or, the use of the toy made it seem that way. He gave you a few moments, cooing praise to you as a large calloused hand ran the outsides of your thighs.
The first roll of his hips inside of you did have you seeing the Mother. His cock was heavy and perfect, rubbing every nerve in your velvety walls. Once his testing was over, you felt those hands grip your hips, bruising them instantly, and he began.
This male began fucking you like both of your lives depended on your orgasm. He fucked you like he owned you, like he owned that peak of pleasure he was quickly driving you to. Between his cock and the toy, you were stuffed full and so sensitive, mind going numb and you moaned, cried, and begged.
He was so deep inside of you he hit places others had easily failed to. “Fuck you feel like Heaven, kitten.”
Your eyes rolled back at the praise, a soft “Thank you, sir,” leaving your mouth as you began to twitch around him.
Cassian was lost in the softness, warmth and wetness of this female's heat.
He would have paid 800 gold just for her. For just one hour with her. Each twitch of her silk had him on edge, ready to pump his seed so deep into her every single fae trying to fuck her afterwards would have to use him as lubricant.
She tightened around him again, moans becoming higher in pitch and more desperate. “Gonna cum for me, kitten? Gonna cum around my cock? Cum with that toy in your ass like a good whore?”
He was practically begging for it knowing he was going to finish in what he felt was embarrassingly record time. One of his hands moved to her clit, groaning as she gasped and wailed loudly. “That's it baby, cum for me.”
Those skilled fingers circled your clit over and over in time with him fucking into you with reckless abandonment. You were right on that edge, ready to fall, and then he growled. The noise so primal it shot through your body like an arrow, and in true nature, you came.
You came so hard you saw the cosmos, the afterlife, the ocean. Your high ripped through you like a tidal wave, walls milking him as he roared behind you.
You heard him him lean against the wall, panting as he gave a few sloppy finishing twitchs. He pulled himself and the toy out at the same time, chuckling as you whined from the sudden emptiness. You heard him following protocol, washing the toy and setting it on the table closest to you so any Other clients knew who it had been used on.
The warm rag he used to clean you while he whispered to you gently was almost better than the sex as it wiped away the remnants and dripping reminders of this sin.
Something made you pause, though, the rough sound of leathery wings flapping.
You replayed the voice in your head over and over after he left. Thinking to where you had heard it before and then whispered, “Oh fuck.” Your hand slapped the release for the restraints and you stepped out and into the room, grabbing your robe and pulling it to the other side as you did. You touched the new girl's leg, “I'll be right back, babe. We have a problem.”
You left the room, entering the hall quickly. You made eye contact with the front desk girl, then the Illyrian male leaving tips for you and your partner.
Cassian, the general of the Night Court, paused as he saw you. He smirked, but that quickly fell when you hit a button. On the wall and the fae lights died, the establishment was going dark.
The female before him began to glow. “You should leave before she gets the owner.” Cassian blinked, confused as to what was happening. “Big daddy doesn't like having his business potentially fucked with. He's killed for less. Leave before she gets him. It won't end well if you don't.”
Cassian heard movement in the room, cursing himself for not wearing his siphons and left, throwing gold on the table for the females.
He called for Rhysand to send Azriel as he walked through that shady part of Velaris alone. His shoulders fell in relief as his brothers both walked beside him in time.
“One,” he started. “I just had the best sex experience of my life.”
“Two,” he sighed. “It's fucking expensive, Rhys. The common citizen isn't getting in there unless they've saved for months.”
He turned to Azriel, “They call the owner Big Daddy.”
The shadowsinger paled before masking his concern. “Let's winnow,” he said firmly. “I do not feel like dealing with him tonight.”
General tag list:
Rhys nodded, grabbing Cassian's arm and then Azriel's. “Let's go home, and then I want to hear about this sex.”

Okay but I keep on thinking about this because it also reminded me of this one scene/panel
Because like.
Yes, this is meant to be a silly little joke about Ace, Roger's yet-to-conceived-son and, the tragedy of what would come of Ace aside, show to us how Roger was fully planning on getting not just laid but also having A Son soon
But like.
There's an absolutely deranged part of me that looks at this and wonders.
Could Roger have slept around before this and had another child with someone else, long before having Ace with Rouge
...
...
@ Myself
Still going through some SBS and y'know, this one stood out to me
From Vol 99
When Oda "plays dumb" it's usually because he's trying to avoid spoilers and so he's intentionally not saying anything. So there's like two potential answers to this question;
Either the baby they were talking about was Shanks and Oda was hiding it because Shanks being found at God Valley hadn't been revealed yet (and wouldn't be for two more years)
Or Roger and/or Rayleigh have been around more babies in the past. And if so, whose baby was that and when
#Moon posting#OP Meta#THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS SUGGESTION#.........Unless#Thing is if Crocodile's trans this would be before he transitioned too so Roger wouldn't have known he already had a son#And yeah if Roger had another child with someone then he might've interacted with that baby in the past so the OG comment wasn't aboutShank#Who Roger's previous lover was and what happened to her is up to debate but like#As I have pointed out in the past it is strange/curious how Shakky quit her position as Kuja Pirate Empress and moved to Sabaody#If Roger's previous lover did pass away suddenly and Roger specifically didn't want to keep the child on-board/wanted them safe#Then Rayleigh's girlfriend could've been a trustworthy option for whom to entrust the child to???????#This really would be the most cursed fucking option for Crocodile's parents because of Crocodad. 'Cause like.#Suddenly Crocodile and Ace would be step-siblings and Ace would be Luffy's step-uncle#And Pirate King Gol. D Roger would be Luffy's other fucking grandpa how bloody deranged would that family be#Could you fucking imagine Garp's face if he found out. The man would probably die of a heart attack then and there#But also as I had previously discussed if we did somehow end OP with TWO Pirate Kings. Like. Roger's prediction would turn out correct#Also. I hate that this thought even passed my mind but. You remember the fucking giant golden Bananawani on top of Rain Dinners?#Golden Bananawani. A golden crocodile. Gol. D Crocodile. I swear to god if Apollo just hit me with the gift of prophesy

Part 2
"(Y/N) Why the hell are we here?" You heard Buggy groan next to you annoyed, Shanks nodding in agreement. You rolled your eyes at their protest of being in the circus tent with you.
"Cause I am the one who got us the tickets, 20000 berries and I want to see the circus" You chimed proudly as you watched your favorite act come out. The clowns, Buggy grimacing at the sight of them, You see this and lean against his shoulder.
"Aww is Buggy afraid of clowns?~" You chime earning a glare from him and a blush. Shanks Grinning at this as he poked his friend in a teasing manor.
"No I'm not afraid of damn clowns! They are just... kinda creepy" He grumbled as he watched the group of bubbly cheerful clowns.
It had been a year since Gol. D Roger's had died, it had been hard on all three of you. But you luckily had each other and were trying to save up scraps of berries to start your guys own crew. You were the thief of the trio, a skilled person in breaking and entering as well as treasure hunting. Buggy was an amazing navigator and sailor while Shanks was the amazing fighter and leader of your trio of teenage Pirates.
You giggle at Buggy face of disgust at the clowns, you knew the real reason he hated them- It was the noses. He was self conscious about it heavily and seeing the clowns with the fake noses made him feel like they were making fun of him. You gently rub his shoulder gently, a silent gesture to comfort him.
Once out of the show you sighed in delight at feeling the sun on your face. Hearing both teens walking behind you and bickering between the two of them.
"Let's get some food for our journey to Hile Hile Village" You suggest, walking to the small market next to the curious. The three of you had been using this little village by Hile Hile Island as a sort of base. The three of you were planning a big heist in order to get a massive score of 750,000 berries which could help getting a bigger boat and not the stolen two decer you guys currently shared. The only issue was that the village was controlled by a dictator like man, A Lieutenant for the Marines that ruled the island. He had made it his mission to murder every pirate who tried to come to the island, so this would be a very quick smash and grab. Fleeing the island immediately afterwards.
It was simple, mildly foolish but hopefully effective.
Once in the market Buggy got toiletries, Shanks got food and you got basic supplies. The three of you walking together till you saw a beauty stand and seeing a deep red lipstick sticking out.
"Ohh I love this color" You hummed in pride at the red lipstick color, both teenage boys groaning as you took your sweet old time in choosing the brightest of red.
"I see you like the color red?" Shanks teased you, earning a sarcastic laugh from you.
"Oh yes, The color red really gets me going" You laugh as you pick the color and grab a near by red and white bandana, wrapping it around your head like a fake bonnet.
"Besides I hear red is a sigh of submission, what does that say about you Shanks?~" His face fell at your words and Buggy snorted a laugh.
You tossed down some berries for the bandana and lipstick. Following the boys back to the boat while you all chatted and teases each other, however Buggy's eyes landing on you every now and then more specifically your red lips. Everyone knew he had a crush on you, hell you had a thing for him too but it seemed he judt refused to make a move! Even when you all were on Roger's ship he never made a move on you.
"Buggy it's your turn to make dinner!" Shanks chimed out earning a groan from Buggy. After dinner you made it to the top of the deck to get some fresh air. Feeling the wind on your face as Buggy sailed you all to Hile Hile Island.
"Hey, You holding up okay?" You called out as you went to Buggy's side. The blue haired teen not meeting your eyes.
"I'm fine.." He grumbled, he knew he was pouting about something. Sighing as you look up at the night sky.
"What are you pouting about Bugs? Hm?" You pressed once more, Hearing a sigh from him.
"You um.. seem to like red right? Listen I assume you like Shanks and all. I mean ago doesnt- but um"
You look at Buggy as he leaned against the wheel of the stolen boat, not meeting your gaze.
"You two would be good together..." He grumbles, you roll your eyes and step towards him grabbing his arm hard you yank him from his pouting position and slammed your lips onto his. His eyes wide as you kiss him and leaned into the kiss, his eyes drooping as he felt warmth from you and wrapped a arm around you in return. After a moment you pulled away and grinned up at his cherry red face and eyes that were in a daze.
"I hope that answers the question of who I like Buggy" You teased, drawing a silent nod from him. Smiling you step back from his grasp and give his hand a gentle squeeze.
"Good night Bugs" You call out before heading down to the Lower Deck of the boat to sleep leaving Buggy standing there still shocked- His face breaking out in a wide grin as he silently cheered and jumped excitedly. You giggling at shearing his footsteps as he jumped up and down in excitement.
The next morning when the three of you arrived at Hile Hile Island and at dawn started your heist of robbing a jewelry store. It went smoothly enough, not too hard till the surprise alarms went off and the three of you ran.
Running through the streets you held the bag of values in your hand, the boys having a good lead on you as they slipped through the crowds and laughed. It was such a adrenaline rush! The boys ran ahead of you turning a sharp corner and heading down, as you prepared to catch up to them a muscular forearm suddenly slam put hitting you.
The wind getting knocked out of your lungs as you felt the forearm smash into your chest, your head smacking into the cobblestone ground as you looked up. The infamous Lieutenant staring down at you with a sickening grin- your eyes widened as you realized.. you were fucked.
"We are gonna be rich! Haha! That ship is ours! Right (Y/N!?)" Buggy yelled out, Hearing Shanks cheer ahead of him. Not hearing your voice he started to slow down lookknv behind him seeing you were gone and his eyes widened, Shanks still on his adrenaline high stopped as well and turned to look to see the confused Buggy.
"Where is (Y/N)?" Buggy questioned, Shanks face falling as he realized this. The two boys meeting each other's gaze and began to rush through were they had run to try and find you, calling out your name. The boys running back to try and find you, as they made it to a backstreet they see you in the back of a Marine jail wagon being dragged away to the local prison. Buggy surged forward in wanting to Spring you free but Shanks grabbed his shoulder quickly.
To say this had turned into a total shit show for you. You had been tossed in the back of the Marine jail wagon, then brought to the local prison.
There you were thrown into a cell with a women who had even in hysterics. Begging for death for her actions instead of the life sentence she was given. Your mind was racing as you tried to think of ways to get out- watching as the Lieutenant walked to you with a smile.
"It's been a while since we had a Pirate here, it's good. We needed an execution tomorrow" He said with a evil smile at you. The color draining from your face at his words.
"What!? Not a trial! Or even a proper investigation!?" You screamed as you grab at the bars. The Marine laughed loudly in your face as he leaned down to your level.
"Little girl, I'm the judge, jury and executioner. Welcome to Hile Hile!" He chimed loudly before dismissing himself with a deep laugh leaving you alone with the sobbing women.
You sat there for a while, trying to figure out what to do. Having even spoken to the women who told you she had accidently fell asleep and her child drowned and was imprisoned for murder. Now sentenced to life in prison at Impel Down, even though she wanted to die for her actions. A completely over sentencing for a horrible accident but you figured that was just how this place was run.
Going up the the barred wi dows of your cell you look out over the village. Fear running through your system as the words the man said to you rang through your system. It wasn't till you saw your two friends running in the alley by your cell did it snap you from your thoughts. Clapping your hands quickly to catch your attention you saw both of them turn to you.
"(Y/N)!" Buggy called out, looking around wildly before detaching his torso and floating up to meet you grabbing at the bars to try and pull on them. You quickly shoo him to go back down.
"No, They will see you" You hissed at him and held his hand, He floated back down but kept his detached hand with you. A sinking feeling hitting your stomach as you smiled at the two boys who rambled out in panic talking about how they would break you out. Shanks was the first one to notice your silence and the sadness in your eyes.
"Guys.. I.. I love you two-" You said to them, both freezing at your words as dread fills their system.
"Hey don't be so glum! We will get you out okay?!"
You gave Buggy's hand a squeeze sniffling back tears as you kissed the back of his hand staining it with your lipstick and taking the bandana you had bought before from around your neck and tied it to his wrist.
"I promise it will be okay Buggy.. Ill be okay" You say in a shaky voice, trying to keep him calm. Releasing his hand which floated back to his wrist.
"I'll get you out of here (Y/N)! They won't hurt you I swear!" Buggy proclaimed, his mind racing with ideas to break you out. Rushing down the alleyway in order to begin plotting.
You looked at Shanks through the bars and gave him a watery smile, tears welling in your eyes.
"Shanks... Promise me- If I go... Buggy can't see it.. He should never see me that way okay? Dont try and break me out.. you guys can get killed" You begged, tears rolling down your cheeks as you saw Shanks own eyes well with tears and nod his head.
"I-I promise (Y/N)..." He stuttered out, looking ahead and running after Buggy finally. Knowing the task that laid before him-
The next day was the day of the public execution. Wanting to make a an example out of you as they prepare for you to be killed. The Lieutenant coming by the cell you shared with the woman, who was still in her mess of a state at being imprisoned for life.
"Ah a Pirate and a Murderer" He chuckled darkly at the two of you. You glaring back at him as he leered at you-
"Does it make you feel strong to kill a child?" You asked him, earning a glare from the male who slammed his hand against the bars.
"Your show time is in half an hour- pray" He hissed at you and tossed a prison uniform and cloth bag at your feet. You knew what this was for by the red that spotted the collars on both-
Buggy had been frantically gathering a plan for his rescue mission, Ignoring the oddly silent Shanks who had just been watching him. Buggy creating a flashy and dramatic escape plan to rescue (Y/N).
"Alright It's almost ready!" He said as he grabbed rope, knives and more. Shanks looking at Buggy and sighing.
"Buggy- We can't get her-" He started but Buggy glared hard at him.
"Yes we can- if we follow this plan I can get her!" Buggy screamed, Shanks clenching his fist as he glared at his friend.
"Buggy I'm not going to let you get yourself killed" He said evenly, a silent standoff starting before Buggy shot a punch using his devil fruit which landed right on Shanks cheek knocking the red head stumble back for just a moment before Buggy bolted, running off the boat and into the rain. Buggy hearing the sound of the crowd gathering at the main city court yard, Bolting towards the direction.
Shanks chased Buggy, sliding through the rain as he saw Buggy run like his life depended on it. Buggy turned a hard corner and slipped hard, his body slamming into an alleyway wall.
Shanks grabbed Buggy and held him against the wall with all his force keeping his limbs pinned, tears running down his own cheeks as he make sure Buggy didn't move from his spot. He knew Buggy couldn't use his Devil fruit abilities as well and his limbs couldn't get far enough to reach you or strong enough to push or kick him off.
"THEY ARE GOING TO KILL HER! WE CAN HELP HER!" Buggy screamed at Shanks as the red head held his friend down-
"Buggy they will kill you!... I-I promised... I-Im sorry" He croaked out- The sound of the crowd in the courtyard got louder and Buggy moved harshly.
'We are here to show that while Gol. D Roger's influence still stands! We will be the strong hand that brings it back!'
The echoing voice sounded through the city, Buggy screaming as he tried his hardest to fight against Shanks.
'A Thief and Pirate. This is the price to pay for crimes here in Hile Hile Town! Is Death!"
The crowd cheering before there was a click before it happened- Buggy's eyes went wide as he heard the massive sound of the guillotine slamming down. The fight leaving his body as he saw the birds fly up from were the courtyard was the sound scaring them from their refuge in the rain, and the sound of cheers from the courtyard from the public execution.
He didn't even feel the cold from the rain anymore, instead feeling the emotions he had turn into ice in his chest. Like his heart had been ripped from his very being and tossed into the deepest part of the sea.
Shanks still sobbing himself pulled away from Buggy knowing it had been done. His own body shivering from the cold as he wept looking at his brothers face, Buggy's eyes looking dull like that of a fishes.
"B-Buggy I'm sorry" Shanks managed to sob to his friend, Like a puppet Buggy moved to his feet barely able to stand as he felt his body was hollow and boots too heavy. His hair sticking to his skin as he felt the rain wash away his love for Shanks and you.
"..I will never forgive this betrayal Shanks... Just like (Y/N) you are dead to me..." Buggy croaked out his voice the softest it had ever sounded, not even meeting Shanks eyes as he turned and started to walk off to towards the courtyard.
Shanks standing there in the rain not saying a word as he let Buggy go, still crying himself. The blue haired teen walking to the courtyard were the crowd was filing out, having gotten their fill of bloodshed. Buggy walked to the empty courtyard and looked up seeing the Marines cleaning the mess, the rain helping to wash the blood from the blade used and the stage it rested on. One of the Marines loading a headless female body into a basket, wearing basic black and white stripped prison attire
Buggy fell to his knees, his eyes locked onto the blade that had taken you from his life- he reached into the pocket of his jacket and pulled out the red and white bandana you had given him, while wet from rain he put it to his head and tied it around his blue hair.
He would remember you... he would cherish the memory. His best friend, his first love... a girl who always smiled wearing too red of lipstick and loved the circus...
He would be the greatest at it all.... Just for you.

So many cross overs so narrow of common hero choices. Let's expand a little.
"Rip what the hell is that?"
"It appears sir, to be a small human child. Around the developmental stage of 4-5"
"Even you know better than to cuss infront of kids.
"I was gone for five minutes."
"Actually I snapped you back to a minute after you left."
"Are You misser booser gol?"
"Yeah kid that's me. You a fan or something who got into something you shouldn't to find me?"
"No. Clockie said tis for you." Hands a sticky note to booster.
Note reads: this is Danny. You will care for him from now on. See this as payment for resetting your time line safely. If you even try pass him off to Bruce wayne/batman, I will ensure your entire familial line never touched time traversing. And you stayed forever trapped in the 31st century. -clockwork master ancient of all time. P.s. there is not conning your way out of this. I will hunt down every ancestor or decendant for all time.
"This looks very serious sir. Congratulations sir you are a father Now"
"Wow kid. Clockie must hate you. I'm so sorry."
"I'm not that bad of an option. Obviously I was judged better that batsy."
"Clockie ass hero I want to say wiff."
"OH kiddo and you asked for the greatest hero boostergold?"
"I wike space. He say geen lanern is space. He take care of me."
"I'm so sorry sir, you have already disappointed your new child. Should I take a commemorative photo of this milestone moment for you?"
"No" "yes skeets"
Camera flashes.
"I shall add this photo to a new album labeled baby book. It is labeled Danny's first disappointment, sir."
"Thank you skeets." X2 one sarcastic one pleased.
"I wan geen lanern."
"Think you're gonna need help anyway Micheal. Call one of them. Not guy."
"I would never co-parent with guy. What kind of idiot do you take me for?"
"Rip takes you as the utmost idiot sir. As does most of the justice league sir."
"Thanks skeets."
"You are most welcome sir."
"Can I pay wif the talking space ship?"

"He will atleast know not to cuss infront of kids. Don't know about the rest."
"Is ted geen lanern?"

"Do not even joke like that. My existence is at stake."
"Batsy is the new beetle juice. In this house."
"Are You geen lanern?"
"Sorry kid I am blue beetle."

"No skeets."
"3rd? How long you had him?"
"A week"
"Ouch. Hey kiddo why do you want to meet green lantern? Aren't these guys just as cool?"
"Considering the average human body temperature is 98.6 degrees I do not believe they qualify as cool sir." Jaime is picking up danny to hold on his hip.
"Clockie says geen lanern is space." Danny smiles.
"Are those fangs? Is this a meta kid? You like space? My scarab is from space. Isn't that just as... Oh My, no scarab!" Scarab starts to go into protect host mode while screaming danger desteoy threat in Jaime head just as Danny's eyes start to glow green at the statement and his mouth splits inhumanly wide with even more teeth. Ted and Michael scramble to grab Danny and move him away from Jaime till he gets control of the scarab again. But Danny has a death grip and won't let go of his new friend.
"I do believe sir that your new child qualifies as a meta. Should I take a picture to commemorate your child's first power demonstration sir?"

Shanks raise ASL part 6
First - Previous - Next
So Ace squares his shoulders and raises his head to meet Shanks’ eyes. And he asks only one question. “What would you do if you found out Gol D. Roger’s had a son?”
The little boy braces himself. He’s ready, or so he thinks. He’s ready for this man to hate him. To tell him that his father was the devil and that his offspring are demons. That Ace shouldn’t exist. Maybe he’d kill Ace right where he stands. Tell Luffy and Sabo that Ace ran away for good and just continue on with life without the burden that is Ace.
What he doesn’t expect is for Shanks to walk towards him silently. The man’s eyes looking intently at his face, studying his features, looking for… something? Ace had no idea what. Did he think he was lying? Was he looking for proof? But then Shanks eyes welled up with tears and he dropped to his knees in front of Ace, throwing his arms around the boy and holding him close.
Ace has never been so confused. He expected to be shun or hit. Instead he was held like he was something precious. One of Shanks’ arms was firmly wrapped around his waist while the other hand was buried into his hair forcing Ace close to the man as he cried into Ace’s hair.
He could feel Shanks’ shaky breath as the man calmed down. “What would I do if I found out that Gol D. Roger’s had a son?” Shanks voice was gentle yet despite that Ace still tensed. He had no idea how Shanks was going to respond. Most adults mocked or hit him by now but Shanks was still holding him so tightly.
Shanks slowly pulled back just enough to look Ace in the eyes as he answers “I’d find him and protect him with my life just as his father protected me.”
“What?” Ace couldn’t understand. What did Shanks mean. Gol D. Rogers had never protected anyone.
Shanks could see the disbelief on the kid’s face. Which made sense. He had to wonder just how much Ace truly knew about his father. “Gol D. Roger’s found me in a treasure chest when I was a baby. He took me in and raised me as his own. I owe him everything.” Shanks said as he look Ace over again. Now that he was looking for it he could see Roger’s silver eyes. The dark hair was the same color as his captain’s, but the wavy texture was all Rouge, as were the constellation of freckles on the young boy’s cheeks.
“No that- you can’t be-” Ace didn’t know what to say. The man Shanks was describing, and the person that Shanks was were not compatible with his understand of who Roger and his crew were. “You can’t be a Roger’s pirate. They were monsters!” He couldn’t make his metal image of Roger and his crew and his memories of Shanks playing with his brothers and protecting them line up in his mind. There was no way this man who was so kind and doting to his brothers could be one of the bloodthirsty Roger pirates. He just couldn’t be.
“Now who told you that?” Shanks’ heart hurt to hear his captain’s son refer to their old family as monsters.
“Everyone. Everyone says that Roger was the devil and I’m his hell spawn.” Ace told him angrily. How did Shanks not get it. Ace was a monster and so was Roger. “I shouldn’t even be alive.”
Shanks pulled him close again, curling around the boy, shielding him from the world as best he could. Who did this? Who told his captain’s son all of these lies? Who told Ace he shouldn’t exist? Shanks was going to rip them apart for this. Ace should have been raised in the Oro Jackson surrounded by a loving crew that would protect him until death took them. But that wasn’t possible. He remembered why his captain handed himself over. Did Ace know about that?
“Your father was one of the greatest men I have ever known.” Ace started to argue but Shanks gently shushed him. “Let me finish. He was brave and kind and brought joy to those around him. And he fell in love with a wonderful woman, Portagas D. Rouge. But he was sick. He knew he didn’t have long. And when he found out your mom was pregnant he made a decision. He turned himself in to the marines.”
Ace’s heart was pounding in his chest. “What, what do you mean. He didn’t turn himself in he was caught by Gramps.” Shanks had to pause and breath through his rage at that one. Garp had been ‘raising’ Ace? That answered a few questions, but not all of them. After all Roger considered Garp a friend, but Shanks had disliked the man since he stood by and ordered Roger’s execution.
“He turned himself in to Garp, but he made him promise two things. One that the marines wouldn’t hunt down the rest of his crew after his executions, and two that you and your mom would be safe.” Shanks held the boy a little tighter. His captain gave up everything, and for what? If Roger’s could see them now would he think his sacrifice worth it?
“But why- how- I don’t understand.” Ace couldn’t wrap his head around what Shanks was telling him. Roger’s had been caught and executed for his crimes. What was this nonsense about noble sacrifices?
Shanks couldn’t blame the kid for not understanding it. He hadn’t understood his captain’s actions for a long time. But now as a captain himself, as someone who has a lover he would burn the world for, and as a freshly minted father of three, because these are HIS boys, he thinks he’s finally starting to get it. He would do anything to keep his crew, Mihawk, and the boys safe. Parting with his own life would be a small price to pay to guarantee their safety. But Shanks also knew the rest of his captain’s story.
“The marines lied kid.” He said with so much bitterness. “They lied to Roger. Promised they wouldn’t hunt down the crew and the people he cared for.” He let out a dark chuckle. “His body wasn’t even cold before they turned on us. Chased the crew all over the sea. Luckily we all disbanded before his execution or they would have got us all in one fell swoop. I was 15 and they chased me like rabid dogs. At the time I knew Rouge, your mom, was pregnant, but I had hoped that information was a secret. Apparently not as they launched a full hunt for you and your mom.” Shanks paused.
He was still furious he hadn’t been able to help Rouge at the time but none of them could have. He wasn’t lying about the marine pursuit being relentless for the first few years after Roger’s execution. It was a miracle that so many of them survived. But the price that he lost contact with his old family. He hadn’t talked to Buggy since Lougetown. He had run into Rayleigh a few years back and had sobbed like a child at seeing his second father again.
“I didn’t hear about the man hunt for the two of you until years later. By then I had to assume you both were dead.” Shanks tightened his arms around the silent boy. “I’m so glad you’re alive.”
Ace sat there is silence processing the new news. His father had died….for him? That couldn’t be right. Roger was the King of the Pirates he was selfish, he wouldn’t sacrifice so much for them.
“Your mom, do you know what happened to her?” Shanks felt awful asking, he had a feeling he already knew the answer, but he had to know. If Rouge was alive she was coming with them. No if ands or buts about it.
His hope didn’t live long. “She died giving birth to me.” Ace’s voice was hallow. He was still processing all of this news. His mom’s death was a fact. He killed her. The very first sin of his existence.
Shanks sighed and held Ace close. “She loved you so much. I’m sorry you didn’t get to met her.” They sat there in silence for a bit. Just taking in all that they had learned in the past few minutes.
“I don’t understand.” Ace finally said. “Everyone says that Roger was a monster, but the way you talk about him….” Ace just couldn’t wrap his head around everything he had just learned. Shanks thought for a second. He had an idea but Ace wasn’t going to like it.
“Do you think Luffy could ever be a monster?” Ace’s head shot back and he shoved himself a way from Shanks.
“Never! What are you talking about. Luffy is the kindest person I know. He could never be-”
“King of the Pirates?” Shanks finished Ace’s sentence, but not the way Ace would have. The boy was going to say monster, but Shanks’ interjection froze the boy in his tracks. “I believe that Luffy is going to be the next King of the Pirates. And with that, there is going to come a lot of lies from the government. They’re going to tell the world that Luffy is a monster. That he deserves to die. So I’m asking you, will you believe them when they say that about Luffy?” Shanks looked Ace dead in the eyes. Never wavering in his question.
“Never. Luffy just wants to be free.” Ace responds unshakable in his beliefs.
“So did Roger.” Ace froze again. He hated comparing his father to his little brother, but he also finally understood what Shanks was getting at. “Look you don’t have to like your dad, but you should know the truth about him. And the truth was he adore you. Enough to die for you without a second thought.”
Shanks sighed as he stood up. This was good. He’s overjoyed to know who Ace is and that he’s alive, but he’s also full of fury and wants to hunt Garp down, because what was that man thinking? Letting Ace believe all of the government’s propaganda. He’s exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster he’s been on tonight and he can see that Ace is to. But there’s one more thing they need to talk about before he can end this conversation.
“And I would to.” Ace jerks to met Shanks’ eyes. “I would die for you and your brothers in a heart beat. Not because you’re my captain’s son. But because I’ve come to see you as mine. I wasn’t lying when I said I wanted all three of you on my crew. You’re my kids. I would fight the world for you, the government and anyone else who tried to hurt you. Because you are Ace and I love you.” Shanks never broke eye contact with the boy. “Not because of who your dad is and not despite of who your dad is, but because of who you are.”
Ace felt tears well up in his eyes as he rushed towards Shanks. The man bending down to scoop the boy up and hold him close as he cried into his shoulder. Someone wanted him. Someone wanted Ace around. Shanks knew who his father was and didn’t hate him. He loved him, he said he did. Has anyone besides Luffy and Sabo ever said that to Ace before.
“I got you. It’s okay. You’re never going to be alone again.” Shanks reassured the boy as he held him close. “One day when you’re ready to set out on your own you’ll have my full support but until that day comes I’ve got you.” Shanks promised as he started to make his way out of the little shack. “Even after that you’ll still have me. I’ll always have your back, until the day I die. If you and your brothers need me I’ll be there. I swear this to you.” Shanks looked up at the moon as he started making his way back Foosha village. Back to Mihawk, Luffy, and Sabo. Back the the Red Force and his crew. And he made one more promise.
‘I’ll keep your boy safe Captain. I’ll raise him as my own, give him all the love you gave me. I won’t fail him. I couldn’t protect you but I’ll protect him with my life. I promise.”
Finally the bonding moment the two of them need.
Next time:
The return of a mountain bandit.
Shanks promise gets put to the test.
#the fact that Ace hates his father but adores Luffy when they share the same dream is one of my Roman Empires.#it needs to be talked about more.#shanks is such a dad#shanks is luffy’s dad okay.#monkey d. luffy#portagas d. ace#revolutionary sabo#shanks#asl brothers#asl trio#mishanks#dracule mihawk#I’ve been going mental over the parallels between Luffy and Roger and hiw Shanks sees them vs Ace and now you get to to.

RUNNING SCARED, I WAS THERE (YOUNG SHANKS X MIHAWK X READER)
A/N: This is part of this series, which requests are open for! These fics are all one-shots, so they can be read separately. Also, I highly recommend listening to the song linked in the title while you read.
It was the twilight eve of the execution of Gol D. Roger, and sadness ruled your heart, body and soul.
The crew had disbanded, scattering themselves to the seas with little more than fond good-byes. Roger had turned himself in three days earlier. There had been a trial - a rushed, convoluted sham of a trial that you hated every second of, but it didn't matter anymore. At least there would be an end to his suffering.
And at least Buggy and Shanks were with you. Small blessings. You knew that Garp had no real interest in persecuting a bunch of kids like yourselves, but hanging out on a pirate ship in the harbor seemed to be an unwise action all the same. So you'd booked three rooms at a nearby inn, close to the town square, and been disheartened to see that the inn was almost filled with out-of-towners thrilled to witness such a historical event.
Buggy got settled in his room, while Shanks sat down on the bed in yours.
"It's strange," he said. "All of this."
You nodded, unable to look at him.
"Hey, we're going to be fine. You know that, right?"
"I know," you said, and then there was a sudden banging at the door.
You and Shanks exchanged glances, and his hand rested on the sword at his side. The door thundered again.
Gripping your pistol, you approached the door, opening it the smallest crack, and trying not to show surprise at the face that greeted you.
"...Mihawk?"
"I heard that Roger would be executed," said Mihawk, out of breath. "I returned to witness. I had to see you."
"I don't care."
"Please let me come in. I know what I did was terrible. It was terrible. But you have to know that it's not because of lack of love for you, I do love-"
You swung the door all the way open, letting Mihawk in. As you did, you pressed your finger to his lips.
"I don't want to hear it," you said, shaking your head. "Roger dies tomorrow. I'm not interested in exploring what happened between us. It doesn't matter anymore."
"Please-"
Shanks appeared behind you, arm looped around your waist.
"Out, Hawk-Eye," Shanks cautioned, "Or I'll duel you for real this time."
Mihawk stared at you, lip trembling a bit. You had never seen him show so much emotion before.
"Please," he stated again. You were silent. Shanks stared him down.
After a moment, he nodded, did a small bow in your direction, and walked out.
Shanks groaned, turning back to his room.
After a moment of consideration, you stared at the hallway where Mihawk had left, and ran after him.
"Mihawk, wait," you called out, and he turned around immediately, a smile ghosting over his face. "Look, I... what you did hurt me. It did hurt me. But it doesn't matter now. All of this... has made me realize what's important."
"...I'm so glad," he said, trying to speak around the lump in his throat. "Truly."
You smiled, pulling something out of your pocket. He realized with a pang that it was your wedding ring, the one he'd designed for you. You handed it back to him, leaving it in the palm of his hand.
"We were much too young to be married anyway. You were right."
Mihawk nodded, closing his fingers around the ring.
"Would you accept my proposal, again, if we were older?"
"If you asked again... when we are older... I may consider it."
He nearly blushed.
"May we part as friends?" Mihawk offered, hopefully. "I know I do not deserve that much, but-"
"Yes," you agreed softly, reaching your hand out to him. "Friends."
Friends.
You made your way back down the hallway, hesitating in front of two doors: yours, or Shanks. You twisted the doorknob on his, wondering if he had left it unlocked for you.
He had.
"Hey," he called out sleepily, sounding completely unsurprised. "You alright?"
You nodded, twisting your hands.
"I don't want to be alone. Do you?"
"No," he said, and the night faded to black.
...
When Shanks got up that morning, he thought of the last time he'd spoken to Roger. Just the two of them.
"It's yours," Roger said. "Our ship. You're the oldest. You're the one who has to look after them. Keep them from killing each other. Keep Buggy from killing you."
Shanks was at a loss for words, and could only bow his head in gratitude.
"One more thing," said Roger. "Another gift and a confession. I never married the woman I loved. I never will."
Shanks could see the toll this was taking on the older man, could see the grief drawn across his face. Roger took something out of a drawer and held it out to Shanks.
"This is Rouge's ring. Now it's yours."
"I don't understand."
"You don't have to, Shanks. All I'm saying is that if there is a girl, one day... and you don't want to let her slip through your fingers... you have this."
Roger held the ring out again, which was strung from a loose chain. Shanks bent his head, and Roger draped the ring over his shoulders. Shanks tucked it under his clothes, where it could lie unseen, and wait.
Shanks knew then that he had so much to say to Roger, too much, and there would not be enough time, not even if he had a thousand years. He wanted to tell him everything, and have Roger tell him what to do in return. But he couldn't.
"Thank you," Shanks managed, and then he felt he had said enough.
...
It was a warm day with clouds when the crowd huddled in to view the execution.
You clung to Shanks' arm, your hand shielding your eyes, while Buggy stood several paces behind you. Mihawk was somewhere in the crowd, too, watching, wearing a new coat - new, at least, to you - embroidered with amaryllis flowers. You had thought to go and stand beside him, but you realized this felt much more right. Shanks had never abandoned you. You were sure, in that moment, he never would.
"It's about to happen," Shanks murmured.
"Oh," you whispered, just 'oh.' You had seen people die, but never someone you loved.
You buried your face in Shanks' shoulder, unable to face these jeering, spectating people around you, gleefully witnessing the pain and destruction and ruination of your lives.
But wait, a pause. And it was then that Roger uttered those words, that speech, the thing that incited the Great Pirate Era. The thing that broke the world, and made you proud.
And then, as the previously laughing crowd stampeded away around you, desperately taking to the water like fish, the act was done.
Roger was gone. A sin had been committed by the world today that could not be forgiven. The sky had, fittingly, turned dark and rainy.
"Let's go home," Shanks said, quietly, and it was then you realized that your face was still buried in his shoulder. He didn't attempt to dislodge you.
"I don't know where home is."
"Course you do. It's in the harbor now."
The Oro Jackson, Roger's ship, the ship you had lived on for the past decade. Why didn't it feel like home, like it had before? Because everyone was gone?
Not everyone. Not Shanks, and not Buggy.
Mihawk, you realized, was still planted where he had stood before, unable to dislodge his gaze from you.
"Hey, Hawk-Eyes," Shanks called out, beginning to steer you towards the ship. "You heading out?"
"Yes," he said, clearing his throat. "Yes, I should be going."
Mihawk nodded to you as Shanks wrapped his coat around your shoulders.
"We'll see each other again," you whispered, tears pricking your eyes. "I believe that."
He gave you a rare smile, and then he was gone.

Hi may you do Roger pirates x f!puppet!reader
so reader is part of a dangerous circus and she is a little puppet for the ringmaster and the roger pirates save reader during a dangerous act and the ringmaster tries to fight them to keep her. Thanks and I know this isnt the best explanation because im currently at the park where little kids are swarming me.
-How long had it been since your actions were your own, since you had been cursed with this fate, being turned into a living puppet, controlled by another- the Ringmaster, who was the captain of the pirate crew you were forced to serve.
-You could do anything under his control, as long as he held your controller, which appeared when you ate your Devil Fruit, whoever held it could control you, and you had spent years in slavery under him.
-He ran a circus on the ocean, traveling the world, entertaining people everywhere while his underlings would rob ships while the crews were enjoying the show.
-You hated it- you felt like such a bad person as you were unable to do anything about it, and if the crew members tried to attack, your captain would always control you to take the blows, getting hurt instead of him. But you were stuck, unable to disobey.
-That is, until he chose the wrong crew to try it on- one of the strongest out there, Gol D. Roger’s crew, who were enjoying the show, watching you dance, entertaining them, but Roger could feel something- or rather someone, calling out for help, silently pleading.
-When he looked closer at you, he could see that your eyes were full of unshed tears, tears you couldn’t let fall, as you weren’t permitted to do so.
-That’s when he noticed the scum trying to board his ship while he and his men were being entertained. When Roger confronted your captain, he moved your controller, a T-shaped puppeteer handle, you leapt in front of him, keeping Roger from advancing any further.
-When he realized that you were being controlled, Roger gave the order to fight back. Your captain was cowardly, trying to escape while using you as a living shield, making it so Roger and his crew couldn’t hit him without risk of hurting you.
-Shanks, one of the cabin boys, tripped your captain, and Buggy, using his own Devil Fruit ability, managed to snatch the controller, getting it away and instantly you stopped moving, finally being free, allowing Roger to deliver justice.
-Buggy and Shanks were playing with your controller, trying to figure out how it worked, making you move in odd and unnatural ways before Rayleigh took it from them, handing it to Roger.
-You looked grateful at him, but you couldn’t speak, something he realized as he wiggled your controller, making you bend in half backwards, but it didn’t hurt as he panicked, trying to return you to a normal posture.
-Roger lifted a hand and you flinched on the inside, but when he pet your head gently, he could feel that you were happy now, like you were finally free.
-Roger beamed brightly, “Join my crew!” as he said this, he crushed your controller, freeing you, allowing you to move and talk again, like you had your own free will again.
-You lifted your hands to your face, feeling the tears as you could finally move on your own as you let out a soft sob, leaping into his arms, hugging him tightly, “Thank you!”
-He couldn’t help but laugh, enjoying the affection as you introduced yourself to everyone, giving a small but rather stiff smile as Shanks took one of your hands, pulling you onto their ship, offering to show you around, while Buggy flew after the two of you, telling Shanks to wait.
-Rayleigh and Roger spoke quietly about what hell you probably went through, being controlled like that, but Roger just beamed, “Nobody will ever be able to control Y/N again.” Rayleigh nodded softly, looking out as you were greeting your new crew mates. You were free.

golden enemies / pedri
summary: no one understands why you two can't stand each other, but both know that it's best to keep it professional. except, when he thinks you don't.
warnings: smut with a plot, kinda hate sex??, pet names (pretty girl), kinda asshole!pedri, don't know if i forgot something.
wc: 2.1k words
things had always felt weird. you can’t pinpoint why or how, but it was safe to say that your relationship with barcelona's golden boy just wasn't the best, contrary to what everyone expected. you can guess when you realized that it wasn't going to work out, though.
the first time that you laid eyes on him, on your first day on la masía, you really thought you could be friends. or even more, considering how your stomach fluttered at seeing his rosy cheeks on your first training session at la masía. but remembering the butterflies that filled your tummy only makes you feel stupid now, knowing damn well who is the asshole from across the pitch who you had fallen head over heels for at the first sight.
"¿qué piensas de y/n? ¿la chica nueva?" (what do you think of y/n? the new girl?) you heard gavi asking, and stopped dead on your tracks before entering the locker room. you had gone to find one of your friends, but curiosity got the best out of you and you just had to know what the pretty midfielder thought about you.
"asumo que está bien. pero no entiendo por qué tanto lío, no es especial" (she's okay, i guess. but i don't understand all the fuzz, she's not special).
the tears in response to his mean answer threatened to fall, and you had to physically stop them from falling with your fingers. at the same time, you saw your friend coming over, almost sure to start screaming and alert about your presence to the two guys inside the locker room. you ushered her, silencing her with your pointer over your lips, before motioning her to follow you far from the changing rooms, almost running away as quickly as you could.
safe to say, things went sour after that. pedri was never the one to start interactions between you two, so the sudden stop at your tries in being friends didn't faze him in the slightest. on the contrary, the midfielder felt relief: he didn't know why, but he couldn't stand you. he guessed that it was due to how everyone around you gushed so much about your technique, how effortlessly you seemed to score. nonetheless, he was pissed at your mere presence.
even if you weren't exactly friends with him off the pitch, when the whistle blew signaling the start of a match, everything between you was great. the chemistry could be seen by everyone that watched the matches, whether it was an occasional viewer or a fan: pedri and you just got each other. he found you every time, sometimes getting the ball to you in unimaginable forms, passing smoothly through legs, both from rivals and teammates, before it landed on your feet, and then, on the back of the net.
the connection you two shared was impossible to ignore from the outside, both fans and the media, and everyone around you thought that you were the best of friends, if not something more. you weren't planning on feeding onto the rumors, and would deny them every time they asked you about him, but today, he had gotten on your nerves.
"espero que hagas un gol hoy" (i hope you score today), he cockily said, while greeting gavi with a handshake and a side hug.
you rolled your eyes and scoffed, while tying your laces firmly. "¿y sino qué? preocúpate en recuperarte, pedro" (and if not, what? worry on getting better, pedro), you scolded, not giving him a second glance. "y sino será obvio que todos tus goles son gracias a mí" (and if not it will be obvious that all your goals are only because of me), pedro retorted, and gavi coughed at the tense interaction shared between the two of you.
"sigue diciéndote eso. no está mal admitir que soy mejor que tú, gonzález" (keep telling yourself that. it's not wrong to admit that i'm better than you, gonzález), you deadpanned, before forcefully closing the door of your locker and heading out to do the warm ups before the game.
the match had ended with a comfortable 3-0, with you scoring the last goal just before the whistle blew. while you were celebrating with your teammates, you remembered what pedri had said earlier, and the interaction made your blood boil all over again.
once everyone was leaving the pitch already celebrating the deserved win, you turned to search into the stands for a certain barça player that you knew had watched the entire game. without giving it a second thought, you raised your hands, forming circles, to your eyes, pretending to be a pair of glasses: basically imitating pedri's celebratory gesture.
the fans cheered, thinking that you were dedicating your goal and the team's win to the injured player, but his serious face seen even from miles away let you know that he understood what you were trying to do: mock him for doubting you.
the changing rooms had been dead silent for the past twenty minutes: you were always the last one to leave, so everyone knew not to wait for you unless they wanted to be strained at the stadium long after the game had ended. that's why the sudden voice startled you. "¿por qué hiciste eso?" (why did you do that?), the man demanded, and even before turning around to see who was the one talking, you knew it was pedro.
"¿hacer qué?" (do what?), you tried playing it dumb, only to fuel his anger even more. by his tone, you could tell that he was pissed, and you wouldn't miss a chance of enraging him further.
"mí celebración" (my celebration), he deadpanned, pointing to the direction of the pitch even if you weren't watching him, too busy taking your things from the locker and organising them into your backpack to go home. "perdón, no sabía que era únicamente tuya" (sorry, didn't know it was only yours).
he scoffed. "por supuesto que sabías" (of course you knew).
you turned around, now pissed by his aggressive tone towards you. hands in your hips, you tilted your head saying "¿y cuál es el problema? solamente parece que lo hice por tu lesión" (and what's your problem? it only looks like i did it for your injury), you dismissed, not preoccupied by how the media would take the act you did: you figured that was his problem, you dirtying his reputation.
he laughed ironically, massaging his temple like whatever you did was bothering him to no avail. "sí, pero ambos sabemos que eso no es así" (yeah, but we both know that's not how it is).
you didn't know when he had gotten this close to you, but you were almost chest to chest when you continued justifying your actions. "pero los hinchas no, así que, ¿cuál es tu puto problema?" (but the fans don't, so, what's your fucking problem?).
the kiss takes you by surprise, but you melt into him. you're totally entranced by his lips, and if someone happened to enter the locker rooms, you don't know how you would explain this. but pedri seemed to be everywhere, filling all your senses, and suddenly the fear of being seen disappears, or rather, thrills you.
the way in which your lips interlock is aggressive, and contains all the rage that pedro had inside of him: not only due to you mocking him with his celebration, but not being able to play and help his teammates made him especially angry, not at anyone else but himself.
pedri was quick to maneuver both of you to where he wanted to: him, seated in the bench next to all your packed stuff, and you, straddling him. you can feel him hardening against your leg, and your first impulse is to palm him through his jogging, eliciting a groan to slip off his lips. you take the chance to discover his exposed neck, leaving a trail of wet kisses on his skin.
"he querido besarte todo este tiempo" (i've been wanting to kiss you all this time) pedro confesses, and you stop your attack on his neck to see in his eyes if he's telling the truth or just messing around. you notice his eyes are darker than usual, but not in an angry way -there's lust underneath.
"no sé porqué me odias tanto, bonita, podría haberte hecho sentir bien desde el comienzo" (don't know why you hate me so much, pretty girl, could have made you feel really good from the start), he continues, his gaze now shifting to your swollen lips while he traced them with his thumb, before pulling you feverishly towards him by the back of your neck. the action only makes your underwear grow wetter, and you find yourself rocking your hips against his, delivering the friction you so desperately needed.
he's encouraging your movements, holding your waist firmly while helping you rock back and forth over his erection. the midfielder doesn't think he can last much longer before a deep patch forms on his boxers, and he also knows that he has to be quick before the cleaning staff comes in.
he rushes to get his pants and undergarment off quickly, and you take the sight of his member when it slaps against his toned abs. you spit on your hand before taking hold of him, teasingly stroking his length as you watched his chest rise and fall agitatedly, his breathing accelerating when your thumb swiped over his leaking tip.
"por favor" (please), he begs, gnawing at his lips to avoid the pleas to continue falling from his mouth. he doesn't want you to think that he's desperate, but to be honest, you're eager too.
he groans in discontent when you stand up suddenly, thinking that you had maybe changed your mind. it's only to get rid of your own pants too, and quickly fish the preservative you always got on your bag in case of emergencies. he doesn't question it, and rather agrees with you, being far more conscious that his heated actions would led him to be. you straddle him again once you tear the silver wrapper and slide the condom over his hardened length, and he's inside of you quickly.
pedri couldn't quite believe his eyes as he watched you bounce up and down on his shaft. he let you set the pace, head thrown back in pleasure while enjoying the feeling of your walls clenching around him.
when your rhythm begins to falter, he steps in, helping you move and keeping the pace. you don't think you can last any longer when is hands make its way to your clit, rubbing circles over the bundle of nerves. pedri swears he has never heard such pretty noises before, your moans and the sound of skin slapping on skin being almost enough to tip him over the edge too.
the inevitable untying of the knot forming on the pitch of your stomach comes, and the rush and euphoria fills you, just as his seed fills the condom. you have to subdue the high pitched moan that threatens to come out by biting his shoulder, leaving a visible mark that you hope no one notices, even if you knew it was too much to ask for.
once you're composed, you get up slowly, feeling your shaky legs almost barely doing their job of letting you move to find the remaining of your clothes.
it feels like everything has gone back to normal: you two not being able to stand each other, not a single trace of what has happened a few minutes before lingering in the air. you try fixing your appearance as quickly as you can, the dead silence between you two only accentuating how his eyes remain locked on your frame, watching your moves carefully.
you don't think that you'll be able to explain why you two were alone, in the changing rooms, when it was clear to everyone that you couldn't stand each other. no one would believe whatever excuse you come up with.
"¿aún me odias?" (still hate me?) pedro dares to ask once you've reached the door. you're about to leave, which is why you're giving your back to him, and he doesn't get to see the doubt in your eyes before answering.
you remember what he had said in the moment, about wanting to kiss you for the longest time, but you know it might not have been something he truly felt, and rather something that he blurted in the heat of the moment.
"claro" (of course), you shrug, and get to see how he's tying the knot on his joggings again. "¿igual que antes?" (just as much?) he questions, again, and you almost laugh at his insistence.
"quizá un poco menos" (maybe a little less).

Traitor - Leah Williamson/Reader
part one | part two | part three | part four
prompt: Leah and R have started to pursue a relationship with each other. How long will it take for their fans and teammates who are unaware to catch on?
warnings: none
words: 2584
(Y/N) POV
“Do you have plans for this afternoon?”
I looked up at Leah who was standing in front of me. I checked my phone just to make sure that I was free.
“Totally free,” I said as I looked back up at her, “unless my beautiful girlfriend calls and just needs my attention for the rest of the day.”
“Yeah, in your dreams, (Y/L/N).”
“I don’t have plans, Leah,” I said as I stood up. I grabbed the hoodie from my locker. “What’s up?”
“I was wondering if you wanted to go mini golfing with me.”
I paused at that. I hadn’t been since i was a kid.
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah,” Leah said as she nodded at me, “There’s this course, Lost Jungle London. Well, I haven’t played it but I’ve been wanting to and no one wants to go with me. I was wondering you would.”
“Yeah, I’d love to.”
I smiled at Leah before I pulled my hoodie over my head. I grabbed my bag and phone from locker as well before turning to face Leah again.
“How about afterwards we go out for pizza?” I suggested. Leah raised an eyebrow at that. “Come on, I’ve been cooking for both of us for the past few weeks. I don’t think it’ll hurt if we have one cheat meal. Besides, you can pay for mini golf and I can pay for the pizza.”
“Okay, but if we get in trouble-”
“We won’t get in trouble. I promise.”
Leah rolled her eyes at me as she wrapped her arm around my shoulders. I grinned as I wrapped my own arm around her waist as the two of us headed out of the locker room.
“Have you always been a rule breaker?”
I tilted my head as I looked over at Leah. Did she really think having one cheat meal was really breaking the rules?
“Leah, one cheat meal isn’t breaking the rules,” I said, causing Leah to look over at me, “I promise it isn’t. But yeah, I do have a thing for ignoring rules sometimes.”
“So you have always been a rule breaker!”
“Maybe that’s why I always get roomed with an older player,” I mused. It definitely had made sense that I was always rooming with an older player on the national team when I first joined considering how young I was, but now that I was nearing my mid-20s? “I wonder if Vlatko will let me room with someone other than the vets.”
“You mean to tell me that the national team rooms you with the vets every camp and you never found that weird?”
“I got to room with Kristie last time! But yeah, usually I room with Alex, Alyssa, or Becky,” I admitted. It definitely did seem weird now that I thought about it. “I’ll have to call Vlatko and ask if he can room me with Rose or Sonny.”
“Oh? Why those two?”
“Sonnett is a prankster. While not completely safe when you stay in the same room with her, you are more safe than others after she roomed with Becky and tried to prank her.”
“What do you mean ‘tried’?”
“Becky came back into the room too early and Sonnett was still in the middle of setting her prank up. Becky set it off creating a mess. Sonnett not only got an earful, but Becky also made her clean it up and run extra.”
“Oof, hate extra running.”
“I know, that’s why I don’t ask you to come when I run in the mornings.”
“Is that what you do before I get up?”
“Sometimes, if I have the time.”
“Okay, so why Lavelle?”
“Oh! If you room with Rose then you get to see Wilma more.”
“Wilma?”
“Yeah, Rose’s dog.”
“That’s the only reason?”
“Well, I mean, Rose and I always have fun together,” I shrugged. I didn’t really know who I would want to room with other than the vets I normally stayed with. “Besides, Rose is a really good singer. I dunno if you saw any of the videos from the Player’s Ball, but she can sing.”
The two of us slowed down as we came to Leah’s car. It was honestly rarer to see the two of us arrive separately now then together. We both moved to the back of the car to put our bags in the trunk before we got into the car.
“So, mini golfing and then pizza?”
“Mini golfing and then pizza, for sure,” I nodded.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I grinned as Leah sunk another ball into the hole. I definitely needed more practice at mini golf before we came back out.
“You know, for someone so competitive, you sure are sucking at this right now.”
“I don’t have to win everything I do,” I said as I rolled my eyes. “Life isn’t always just one huge game. Sometimes you just got to have fun.”
“Huh, I don’t recall you saying that on our first date,” Leah said as she looked over at me. “If I remember correctly it was something like ‘I’m the best in the world at everything and no one can beat me’?”
“Yeah, yeah,” I said as I nodded my head. I had gotten a little carried away after I had won my fourth game in a row. “I grew up playing arcade games. The arcade was in the back of the bowling alley. The closest putt-putt course was 4 hours away at least.”
“Mmm, I can already taste the victory,” Leah said as we moved onto the next hole.
“Pretty sure you could taste that after about 3 holes.”
“Well it’s only getting sweeter,” Leah grinned at me.
I shook my head but I enjoyed myself as we finished up our game. It was nice to just have fun with her. As we turned our clubs and balls back in, I waited until Leah had her back turned before I turned back to the worker behind the stand.
“You mind if I get her ball back?”
“You know you have to give the $15 for the game back, right?”
“Yeah, I know,” I nodded. I glanced over my shoulder to make sure that Leah wasn’t paying attention as I handed the worker the bills for the ball. “Thanks.”
I pocketed the red ball into the hoodie before I rushed to catch up with Leah. She glanced over her shoulder at me once she felt me lightly nudge her shoulder.
“What was that about?”
“They were just a fan,” I shrugged as Leah looked back at the stand. “Asked for a picture. How could I say no to that?”
“Yeah, sure,” Leah said as she ruffled my hair.
My phone buzzed in my pocket as we neared the car. I fished the phone from my pocket before rolling my eyes at the pictures that I had gotten. It was just pictures from Instagram of my afternoon with Leah. Sometimes I really hated being famous or being out in London with England’s captain.
I ignored the messages from my national teammates as Leah and I got into her car. I grinned as she held up the scorecard for a picture with me.
“You putting it on Instagram?” I asked her.
“Gotta make sure that everyone knows that I can at least beat you at mini golf,” Leah said as she turned to her phone.
I rolled my eyes at that as I shook my head. But I couldn’t help but stare at her as her nose scrunched up as she was focused on writing out her caption.
“You know, it’s creepy to stare.”
“Well, I can’t help it when I’m looking at a literal goddess.”
“Flattery will get you nowhere.”
I groaned at that as I tossed my head back against my seat. I stuck my bottom lip out as I looked over at her.
“Not even a slice of pizza with you?”
“Maybe, it will get you that.”
I grinned as Leah started up the car before I pulled up my own Instagram so I could go like the picture that Leah posted.
It didn’t take us long to get to the pizza parlor or to even get a seat since it was the middle of the afternoon. There were a few people around us, but most people didn’t even look at us as we sat at our table. The afternoon was honestly going great for us both.
At least, it was until we were getting our drinks. I was a bit faster to get up that Leah was once the server knocked the drink over as they were reaching for it from the tray. I winced as the water got all over Leah’s shirt before she could stand up. I immediately was pulling the items out of the pocket of the hoodie before I pulled it off as Leah got up.
Both of us pretty much ignored the server’s apologies as I looked over Leah. She looked down where I was holding the hoodie out to her.
“No broken glass, right?”
“There was no broken glass,” Leah assured.
“Here, take the hoodie. You can run to the restroom and put it on,” I said as Leah took the hoodie from my hands. “Bring your shirt back out and I’ll carry it around with me so you don’t have to worry about it.”
Leah sent me a soft smile before she pressed a kiss to my cheek and heading to the restroom. I turned back to the server who was still apologizing, but I only told them it was an accident and asked if we could move elsewhere. Which Leah found me easily enough when she came back out from the restroom.
“All better?” I asked as Leah handed over her wet shirt.
“Thank you.”
“Hey, it’s what I’m here for. Someone has to be your knight in a hoodie.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I laid in the bed as I was texting Leah. It definitely sucked that we didn’t get to see each other right now, but we both had different national team commitments. I didn’t pay attention as Sonnett came out of the bathroom. At least not until she started to dig through my bags. I furrowed my brow in confusion as she started with my practice bag, but it was entirely possible that Sonnett had just put something in it earlier.
“Where is it?” Sonnett asked as she looked back at me.
I scratched the top of my head as I looked at her. I had no idea what she was talking about.
“Hey!” I called out as Sonnett started going through my suitcase. “Sonnett, what are you doing?”
“I’m looking for the hoodie.”
“I already told you that you can’t wear it,” I said as I laid back down. I wasn’t worried about Sonnett finding the hoodie.
“Yeah, well, I have the perfect outfit that it would go with and I gotta look good in case we meet a cute girl,” Sonnett said.
I chuckled as I rolled my eyes at her. Sonnett wasn’t always the most observant. That’s problem why she hadn’t even realized that I didn’t have the hoodie with me.
“Well, you’re out of luck,” I said, causing Sonnett to pause as she turned to look at me. “It’s not here. I didn’t bring it.”
“You didn’t bring it?”
“Nope.”
“Well, why not? You’re always looking for new patches for it.”
“i still am.”
“If it’s not here, then where is it?”
I paused before looking through Instagram until I found the picture that Kierra had posted of her and Leah. I turned my phone so that Sonnett could see the picture.
“Leah Williamson has your jersey? But-But she’s England’s captain, and you’re our future captain!”
“And?”
“And? And that makes you a traitor!”
“Because I wouldn’t let you wear the hoodie but Leah can wear it?”
Sonnett was nodding her head as there was a knock on the door. Sonnett was muttering under her breath about how unbelievable it was as she answered the door. No surprise, Becky was the one to walk in.
“Are you two okay? I could hear you across the hall,” Becky said as she looked at where I was laying on my bed. “If we need to, we’ll have Sonnett switch so I can stay with you, (Y/N).”
“No, everything’s okay,” I assured Becky.
“No. No! Everything is not okay!” Sonnett said, causing me to roll my eyes again. I swear the more time I spent around Sonnett, the more time I was convinced my eyes would roll out of my head one day. “She is a traitor! Okay?”
“You mean the fact that she’s dating Williamson?” Becky asked.
“Yeah, and did you know- Wait, what?” Sonnett asked as she realized what Becky had said. Sonnett turned to look at me. “You’re dating Captain England?”
“Yeah,” I shrugged my shoulders as Sonnett started to pace around. “I mean, we do play for the same team.”
“Now is not the time for your double meanings, (Y/L/N)!”
I chuckled at Sonnett as Becky looked between the two of us. I mostly ignored Sonnett’s mutterings as my phone rang. I grinned at the Facetime coming through from Leah.
“Hi, love,” Leah greeted.
“Hey.”
“No! No, absolutely not! This is not happening,” Sonnett said. I looked up at her as Sonnett snatched my phone from me.
“Oi! That’s my phone!”
I immediately scrambled up from my spot on the bed to pull Sonnett back onto the bed to try to wrestle my phone away from her, but she only dropped it on the floor. The two of us stared at it for a moment before we tried to fight to get off the bed first, but it didn’t matter as Becky picked up my phone.
“You can’t let her have it! She’s the future Captain America! She can’t be dating Captain England!”
“Sonnett, (Y/N)’s a big girl. She can date who she wants,” Becky said as she held my phone out to me. I grinned as I took the phone from Becky before turning my attention to Leah. “With that being said, you do have to end the call because we’re having a team meeting.”
I pouted as I looked up at Becky.
“But-”
“No buts. You’re both required to be there.”
We watched as Becky headed out of the room before I turned to glare at Sonnett.
“Way to go. Now we’re both in trouble,” I muttered.
“Me? You’re the one dating the enemy!”
“Oi! I’m still here, mate,” Leah called out.
“I’m not your ‘mate,’“ Sonnett said as she got off my bed to leave the room.
I sighed as I turned to look at Leah. I ran a hand through my hair.
“I’ll text you when we get done? If you aren’t busy...”
“I’ll call you. How about that?” Leah asked.
I softly smiled at that. I really had been hoping to get to talk to Leah for longer. It was harder for us to talk considering we were in completely different time zones.
“Keep that hoodie safe for me, yeah?” I asked. I waited until Leah nodded before a grin broke out on my face. “Good. As long as you wear it when I’m not near, you’re still wrapped up in my love.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“I love you too, (Y/N).”

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
Time passed and it seemed that you and Luffy had turned over to a new chapter together, a new little dance. This was clearly noted by the other Straw-Hats, after all a tension was there, a new kind that was clear to them what it was, but it flew right over your heads, making all of them ready to pull their hair out at times with how oblivious you two were.
You all were docked at an island that was said to have been a rest spot for Gol D. Roger, hoping to find clues to where he may have hidden the One Piece. It wasn’t populated and it only had one little beachside shack that you and Robin were put in charge of searching.
You were sat on an old, dusty couch, sifting through an ancient, wooden crate full of notebooks when Robin spoke up from her position at the bookshelf. “So, you and Luffy, huh?” she said cheekily, flipping through an astronomy book.
You felt heat rise to your face, biting at your cheeks, “I don’t know what you mean.” You said, sitting a little straighter than before.
Robin smirked, eyeing you over the brim of her book, “You have a little crush on our captain, don’t you?” she sing songed, flipping the page. You spluttered and scrambled to try and find words to retort, but you came up short, “It’s okay if you do.” She hummed. “It’s not against any rules here.”
You felt red hot as you spoke, “It wouldn’t matter if I did or not, I highly doubt he’d even consider thinking about me that way.” You said simply, sifting through a notebook full of inventory logs.
Robin frowned, “How do you know?” she asked, affirmed by your shrug, “Exactly. He’s a very unique kind of man, very unpredictable. He may just surprise you.”
“Or I could be right, and if I ever made a move, it’d go horribly and he’d hate my guts again, he might even feel so strongly about it that he’d have no choice but to maroon me.” You muttered quickly, avoiding Robin’s piercing gaze.
“You have so little faith in him?” she asked pointedly. “No.” you sighed, “He’s so nice and great, and he’s just like the sweetest guy, but…” you trailed off until Robin urged you to continue, “I’m me. I’m abrasive, I’m way too brutal half the time for such a nice guy, I mean…Does someone with this much blood on their hands deserve someone like that? I can’t bring myself to think so.” You said, making Robin’s frown deepen.
Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji were scavenging around the island’s vegetation looking for clues, food, or an adventure. “So,” Zoro droned suddenly, “You and glass girl, huh?”
Sanji and Luffy stopped in their tracks, Sanji kicking at Zoro’s shin, “You have no tact.” He hissed as Zoro waved him off.
Luffy cocked his head to the side a bit, “What’re you talking about?”
Sanji sighed, “What moss head over here is trying to insinuate is that you and our lovely crewmate might…have romantic feelings for each other?” He said carefully, trying to find just the right words.
Luffy’s face went red, all the way to his ears, “I don’t think so.” He said, fiddling with his hat string. “She probably likes one of you.” Luffy sighed, kicking at the dirt under his feet.
Sanji and Zoro shared a look, breaking into deep belly laughs, remembering the conversation they’d had at your house, “Not a chance dude!” Zoro laughed out, clapping Luffy’s shoulder, “She made that clear since day one.”
“What do you mean?” the pirate captain asked, brows knit together.
“When we were all at her house, the cook tried to make a move on her like he always does,” Zoro started, “and she shut him down hard.” He managed through his laughter.
Sanji’s laughter had died down, now just a goofy smile on his face, “She says we’re too old and not her ‘type’.” He said, “You wanna know what her type is?” he asked.
Luffy shrugged and nodded, holding his arms close to his body.
“Funny brunettes.” The other two chimed together.
Zoro poked Luffy in the shoulder, “She specifically said like you.” He teased, noting the cherry red cheeks of his captain.
Luffy felt like the whole island just went up in temperature by like twenty degrees, “O-oh.” He muttered, shaking his head as he said, “I doubt it though, I mean I was mean to her for a while at first, I doubt she’d look past that.”
Sanji rolled his eyes, slinging an arm around his captain’s shoulders, “We saw you two dancing on your birthday, you know?” Sanji said pointedly, Zoro nodding along, “You both looked awful comfy all up on each other like that.” The cook said, watching Luffy hide his face in his hands, embarrassed. “It’s nothing to be all flustered about.”
“Yeah, I mean, you two have been making goo goo eyes at each other ever since.” Zoro chided.
Sanji nodded, “And she’s been looking at you like that for even longer.” He said, “I’m pretty damned sure that she really likes you.”
Luffy let his hands flop to his sides, his face still burning, “You think so?”
Sanji and Zoro shared a look, “We know so.” The chimed.
You continued looking through the ship logs in silence, Robin still searching at the bookshelf. Your eyes were starting to haze over when they landed on something. You gasped and snatched the notebook up, startling Robin. You quickly flipped through the pages with a wide smile, “This has their routes! It’s all verbal but it’s where all they docked and what channels and obstacles they encountered. Robin,” you exclaimed, shooting to your feet, “this might have where to find the One Piece, or at least the poneglyphs.” You said, your eyes sparkling.
Robin smiled, “Go find Nami or Luffy and show them. I’ll keep sifting through things in here, see if there’s any more valuable information.” She said, shooing you out of the rickety door.
You immediately tore your way over the sand, dashing into the thicket. You pounded through the trees, dodging stray branches and roots, “LUFFY! LUFFY, I FOUND SOMETHING!” you hollered into the trees. You heard a brief call from your left, so you immediately started rushing that way.
Luffy heard you yelling through the vegetation and called back out, trying to tell you where he is. The trio were all turning around, trying to see which direction you were coming from. “Oof!” Luffy landed straight on his back, only processing what happened when he landed. You had run directly into him and knocked him over, now you were hovering right over him, heaving with a smile.
“I found something!” You breathed out, sitting back on your haunches, a little black book in your hands, “This book,” you started as Luffy pulled himself up a bit, holding himself up with his arms behind him, “has Roger’s route through the Grand Line. This might show us the path to follow so we can find the One Piece!” You exclaimed, practically shaking with excitement. Luffy beamed, throwing his arms around your neck and pulling you into a hug.
“Holy shit.” Zoro muttered, turning to Sanji, “We might actually be close to finding it.” He whispered, an astonished cook nodding as the only form of acknowledgment he’d offered.
You pulled back from the hug, standing up, hoisting Luffy up with you, “Where’s Nami? I wanna get this to her as soon as possible.” You asked, dusting yourself off a bit.
“She’s on the ship,” Zoro muttered, “I can take it to her,” he said, holding his hand out for the book.
“Hold on, marimo!” Sanji exclaimed, snatching the book out of his grasp, “You’d get lost before you find her.” He insisted, starting to walk toward the ship.
Zoro scoffed, “I don’t get lost!” he exclaimed, following close behind the cook.
You and Luffy were left alone in the woods, “You ready?” you asked quietly, reaching out and grabbing Luffy’s hand in your own.
“For what?” he asked, eyes locked on yours.
“Are you ready to be king?” you whispered, a massive smile pulling at your lips. “Monkey D. Luffy, King of the Pirates.” You said softly, trying it out on your tongue.
Luffy chuckled, starting to play with your fingers, “I think so.” He muttered, “Are you ready to be on the crew of the King of the Pirates?” he jeered through laughter.
Your smile was blinding as you beamed up at him, “Absolutely.” You said firmly. “Now c’mon, let’s see what else we can find.” You said, leading him in a new direction.
“Maybe Roger left a bit of-Woah!” you were cut off as the floor dropped out from under you. The island had booby traps. You were dangling from your hold on Luffy’s hand, trying to find footing against the damp earth of the hole’s walls. “What the fuck?” you exclaimed, and you could feel your hand slipping out of Luffy’s.
“Hold on!” he said. He chanced a look to the bottom of the hole, looking for spikes or something, only to blanch a bit. It was a bit worse depending on who you asked. The bottom was filled with seawater, and he couldn’t tell how deep it was, “Don’t let go!” Luffy commanded, stretching his free arm up to wrap around a tree, trying to use it as leverage to pull you out.
You dangled, kinda useless as you struggled to find any grip on anything really. “Maybe you can just drop me then grab the others and help me out then!” you suggested.
Luffy shook his head with wide eyes, “Seawater at the bottom.” he said as he started trying to pull you up, every muscle in his arm straining. It was much less a struggle because of you, and entirely because his feet kept slipping out from under him. “Shit.” He spat under his breath.
You swallowed a bit of fear at the pool of water under you, you held firm onto Luffy’s hand and used it as leverage to swing your free hand up, grabbing tightly onto Luffy’s forearm. “Reel yourself in!” you exclaimed, letting out a slightly manic laugh at your captain’s confused expression, “I’m like a damned fish! Your arm is the line! Reel your line in!” you shouted.
Luffy tightened his hold and tried pulling you both toward the tree, just using his arm, letting his feet drag under him. Eventually, you were high enough to reach a muddy hand out and grip the grass at the top, helping Luffy drag you up out of the hole.
You landed on the grass with a huff, adjusting your hat and laying right next to where Luffy fell on his back. His head was at your hip and vice versa. You wheezed a laugh and clapped a muddy hand on his abdomen, “Thanks, Cap!” Luffy waved you off, trying to catch his breath. You both sat up after a moment, and you took in how muddy you both really were with a sigh, “God damn, we need baths.” You muttered.
Luffy had caught his breath, but his heart kept beating wildly in his chest, “Don’t scare me like that.” He scolded.
You smiled softly and reached your hand up, moving his hair out of his eyes before resting your palm on his cheek, apologizing, and in that moment, Luffy saw what the guys had been talking about. The way you two looked at each other. The realization struck through Luffy like a lightning bolt, and he couldn’t think before he was grabbing your face and guiding your lips to his.
You gasped, making Luffy pull back for fear of upsetting you, “Sorry, I just-!” you cut off his worried rambling with a beaming smile, drawing him back in for another sweet kiss, your lips moving together a bit awkwardly, but neither of you minded. Luffy reached a hand up and threaded it through your hair at the back of your head, drawing you ever closer, and you held his face in your hands, smiling into the kiss.
Luffy pulled away just far enough to rest his forehead against yours, looking deep into your eyes, “You ever wanted to be a queen?” he muttered, eyes only leaving yours to flit down to your lips.
You smiled wide and laughed a bit, “I can work with that,” you whispered, pulling him back in for a kiss.
That night, you and Luffy sat on the lawn deck, his head in your lap, you were playing with his hair, twirling it around your fingers. You were humming softly as you both watched the stars, and Luffy recognized it as the slow song you played him on his birthday, making him smile.
“Fucking finally.” Zoro whispered, Sanji and Robin watching the scene with him. “I was this close to locking them in a broom closet.” He said, pinching his fingers together.
Robin chuckled softly, but Sanji frowned and shook his head, “I’m glad they figured things out,” Robin said, “Even if it took explicitly telling them.” The men laughed quietly, “Should I ask Franky to make them their own room?” she asked cheekily.
Zoro glowered, “If I walk in on them doing anything I think I’ll jump overboard.” He said, Sanji nodding along.
“I’ll tell him to make some plans, but I won’t have him do anything until they ask.” She decided, nodding resolutely. “Why don’t you and Franky have a room?” Zoro asked bluntly, ignoring Sanji’s kick to his shins.
The boys were surprised to see a very slight blush rise to the woman’s cheeks, “Who needs one when he has his own workshop.” She said bluntly, walking away immediately after.
Zoro and Sanji looked at each other in horror, “I’ve definitely gone in there without knocking before.” Zoro muttered.
“Am I the only one around here who can’t get any damned action?” Sanji whisper yelled.
Luffy stirred in your lap, reaching up a hand to thread his fingers with yours, “You make me happy.” He muttered, holding your hand over his chest.
You smiled and looked down at him, “You make me happy.” You said, drawing his hand in yours up, pressing his knuckles to your lips before letting them fall back to where Luffy had held them. “Now,” you said cheekily, biting back laughter, “Which one of us is gonna acknowledge your brother definitely celebrating in whatever pirate heaven he ended up in.” you said, the giggles leaking out, “And how pissed mine probably is right next to him.”
Luffy laughed quietly, reaching his free arm around your torso, still holding your hand with the other, “I swear, if he got any of his other stupid guesses right, I’m gonna freak out.” He warned jokingly.
You flushed and bit your lips, “We’ll just have to see.” You chimed, drawing Luffy’s face up to yours, whispering against his lips, “I mean, he can’t be all right. After all, you don’t have three years till you find that One Piece.” You said cheekily before pressing your lips together. Luffy chuckled into the kiss, tangling his hand into your hair.
