Humble Choice May 2024 Review - Two Major Headliners
I’m Kinglink and it’s past the first week of May, so it’s time for a Humble Choice May 2024 Review. This month we have two headliners, and the first game is from my favorite series, so I’m ready to go. I’ve played all the games for an hour on stream, and one of them with the viewers as well. Now I can tell you what the games are like, how they play, and if you might enjoy them. There’s a lot…

Humble Bundle has another bundle for music (Get Into Music: Variety Pack Software Bundle) ending in 9 days. As an amateur, I really like using AAS packs, which a few are really cheap in the bundle; the sounds are nice to use for inspiration and to get different, particular feels without needing to tinker with plugins imo. (The pack Swatches is free to try selections from the packs out if anyone is curious.) Just wanted to spread the word in case it's helpful!
Very cool! Thanks for the intel! It looks like the full bundle has a mix of VSTs, Plugins, and SFX. Looks super good for the price!
(also thank you for reminding me I still need to pick my free AAS holiday gift lol godda go choose one of their packs...so difficult....)
#humble bundle#music creation#also!! everyone don't forget to check your email for those monthly free Boom Library fx!!#this month was creature sounds—always a fave!

Alright, the Twitter community can have some rights, someone left me some really sweet messages complimenting my editing skills and saying QSMP Global should hire me.
Sideblog shenanigans
Keep reading
#i talk#sideblog shenanigans#LORD I WISH#I don't think they'd hire me because I use Vegas (not by choice) instead of Adobe#but there's no way in hell I'll shell out a monthly subscription to adobe for anything#I actually bought this copy of Vegas ages ago it's pretty outdated#but it was $20 during one of those Humble Bundle things and I leapt at the opportunity#So many different hobbies and professions are hard to get into because the tools are so expensive#it sucks#I'm grateful that I have *something* but I wish I had something better and I wish other people had something they could work with too#Anyways. I think I've actually had the same amount of weirdos on Twitter as I have on here#maybe one more on here?#but I've been running RA on tumblr far longer#I also shut off the askbox a few weeks in lmao

really boggles my mind how, in the discourse around Big Corporate Media Productions being too bogged down in marketability and revenue these days, people just. forget that smaller, creator-driven projects still exist.
"all the movies coming out of hollywood these days are made to be as unobjectionable as possible to appeal to mass audiences and they're full of product placement and military propaganda" okay. watch other movies then. there are mid- to micro-budget films coming out ALL the time on EVERY conceivable platform. check movie critic blogs and film festival entries and the new releases tab on your streaming service of choice.
"all the songs coming out these days are made to go viral on tiktok in easily clippable chunks and then be forgotten in a week" okay. listen to other music then. there are record labels that are nothing more than one guy, three buckets, and an audio engineer. there are artists out there who are making music that is weirder and less marketable than you can possibly imagine, who have <100 monthly listeners on spotify. you will love them. go find them. browse bandcamp or indie music communities or ask your friends for recommendations; i guarantee they are all sitting on one that they are DYING to share with you.
"all the video games these days are huge expensive bloated open world shooters full of microtransactions and unnecessarily detailed graphics that won't run on a computer that's only a year old" you know what i'm about to say. there are games that exist outside of the AAA space that are smaller, more focused, made by developers who aren't being ground into a fine paste by overwork. buy a bundle on humble or itch, find a streamer who focuses on indie titles.
it can be daunting to step outside of the "things you've already heard of" and "things that have been advertised to you" bubble, but i PROMISE you, there is so so so much more media out there that you will LOVE that isn't the product of some corporate executive focused on the bottom line. you just have to LOOK AROUND a little bit.
#ragsycon exclusive#this rant brought to you by someone complaining that 'bg3 is too big and complex'#and that 'we should just go back to when games were smaller and more focused'#motherfucker we're still there. you just gotta look beyond major releases.

Unity Gossips
So, if you're new to game development, or if you haven't heard, Unity plans on increasing their pricing for running their games, and charging dev teams for those expenses. Read for yourself on their blog here:
So some notes of interest from what I read, and what a lot of people seem to not care about (yet) because the runtime fees are what most people are up in arms about right now.
I mean, rightly so, given the whole "retroactively" and "based on Install, Not Purchases" which is ridiculous given pirating is pretty prevalent in the games industry. (I mean, totally pirate the big-name games, Fuck EA).
Smaller studios are going to suffer from this. It's bad. Even though it's written from an "EFF THE RICH!" standpoint, from the Games Industry, you might want to tack on a couple of zeros onto the end of these numbers for it to only affect larger corps. Think of Toby Fox getting pwned by this for Undertale and Deltarune, and you'll begin to see why it's bad to do this retroactively.
Oof, billed monthly. Damn.
BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE Fuckery!
If you pay them to run their ad service on your games (depleting your revenue for Free to Play games), you can get a credited discount for the Runtime. Games similar to MergeDragons will get More Ads! Fun!
Last, but certainly not least, Unity has its own AI Suite!
How much do you want to bet "the ability to add AI functionality at runtime (Unity Sentis)" needs to be toggled OFF in order to not aggregate more data? Any takers to that bet? Does anyone in their right mind on this site think that it Won't be On all of the time?
There are likely many reasons for why they're so very willing to cover the additional cloud computational costs (read Alphabet, AWS or Azure Services, $$$$$) on the data you can give to their game-build assist AI program, and that does not bode well for any developer. Or any players, for that matter.
Not only that, but their asset management tools, and build minutes cost additional amounts unless you pay for premium tiers?
Yeah, not great. 10GB storage total. On 3D rendered art pieces/collections. Roll20 has the same amount of storage space as Unity Personal.
So that's it for Unity's blog post that I was able to spot, BUT the most amusing thing to me of all things is that Humble Bundle and Gamedev.tv took less than 24 hours to negotiate a new bundle for Godot.

I'm up to my usual antics with video games' character generators again having wasted over an hour messing around like this. This one is very limited but some of the options are surprisingly great for in-game cosplay.
Most of the BNHA cast and other random characters I made didn't work this well.
If you're curious, this is what I made my character look like. A little bland but I like it.
I wouldn't have gotten this yet with my current backlog but for the very first time the Humble Monthly had nothing I had already from sales/past bundles but everything in it also was things I was interested in or curious about. Admittedly I got it mainly for Outer Worlds and Temtem and Yakuza 4 (which I talked myself out of getting as part of the $35 full Yakuza collection minus dragon since I got stuck in Yakuza 0; good game but all my hate for that one guy). Even one of them but especially Outer Worlds would be worth the price. But I was also interested in Roadwarden and Merchant of the Skies. The rest are unfamiliar to me.
Who the heck thought of setting up a game of chess where the single unit on your side has a shotgun? I mean this in a good way.

Wordcount 27 Feb 2023
Raider AU: 770
Legion AU AU: 3682
BDVV: 5803 (!) which involved a lot of worldbuilding including making a map for easier visual reference
FAFO editing: 1850
Also today: Poked through the Wasteland Warfare PDFs I got as part of that Humble Bundle and, well, it's wargaming all right.
I did the FAFO editing because it was time to release it to its 3 privileged readers (lol) and also because I figured I might need the wordcount boost. And then suddenly writing happened everywhere!
Total for today: 12,816
Total for February: 250,600! The monthly goal, one day ahead of EOM! Admittedly February is harder just because it has fewer days.
Total for 2023: 572,981

Why Toowoomba Homes are Switching Back to Antennas
It’s a breezy Saturday evening, and the family gathers in the living room for movie night. The popcorn is ready, the lights are dimmed, and then—buffering strikes. The streaming service spins endlessly, ruining the cozy vibe. Sound familiar? You're not alone. Across Toowoomba, families are rediscovering an often-overlooked hero: the humble TV antenna.
While many households chase the latest streaming trends, a quiet revolution is underway, with more Australians realizing the benefits of modern TV antenna installation Toowoomba service. Let’s dive into why TV antennas are making a comeback, and why Toowoomba might just be the perfect place to embrace this trend.
The Surprising Stats Behind TV Antennas
Did you know that 87% of Australians still watch free-to-air TV regularly, according to OzTAM? Even with the rise of streaming platforms, free-to-air remains a reliable source for live sports, news, and entertainment. And here’s the kicker: installing or upgrading a TV antenna costs significantly less than a year’s subscription to most streaming services, especially when bundled with additional services like antenna repair or maintenance.
What Most People Don’t Realize About TV Antennas
Crystal-Clear Picture Quality Modern TV antennas deliver high-definition signals that rival or even surpass the quality of streaming services. Unlike streaming, which compresses video data, free-to-air broadcasts provide uncompressed signals, ensuring sharper and clearer visuals.
Reliability in Toowoomba’s Unique Terrain Toowoomba’s hilly landscape can pose challenges for satellite or cable services. However, professional TV antenna installation Toowoomba services can optimize your setup to work seamlessly, even in tricky locations. Experts can assess your area and recommend antenna types suited to local signal strengths.
Eco-Friendly Entertainment Streaming platforms consume a significant amount of energy, both in data centers and at home. Free-to-air TV, on the other hand, has a smaller carbon footprint, making antennas a greener choice for entertainment.
A Hidden Benefit: Local Content That Matters
Toowoomba residents often value staying connected to regional news and events. Free-to-air TV antennas offer unparalleled access to local channels that might not be available on streaming platforms. This keeps you informed about everything from weather alerts to community initiatives.
The Secret to Long-Lasting Antenna Performance
Many homeowners make the mistake of neglecting their antennas until there’s a problem. Regular antenna service and repair can extend the life of your setup, ensuring uninterrupted viewing. Companies specializing in antenna repair Toowoomba offer affordable maintenance plans that include signal checks and alignment adjustments.
A Cost-Effective Solution for Every Budget
Think switching to an antenna means losing variety? Think again. Pairing free-to-air channels with a digital video recorder (DVR) lets you enjoy the flexibility of recording and watching later, much like streaming. Plus, without the hefty monthly subscription fees, your savings can add up quickly.
Why Toowoomba Leads the Antenna Revolution
Toowoomba residents have a knack for blending modern convenience with timeless reliability. TV antenna installation in Toowoomba has surged as more families opt for this dependable technology, supported by local services offering tailored solutions. Whether you need a new setup or quick TV antenna repair Toowoomba services, the options are vast and customer-centric.
Conclusion: A Smart Move for Toowoomba Homes
Switching to a TV antenna isn’t just a return to the past; it’s an upgrade for the future. With high-definition quality, lower costs, and eco-friendly benefits, antennas are a win-win for Toowoomba households. So the next time you’re battling a buffering wheel, ask yourself: isn’t it time to rediscover the joy of clear, uninterrupted TV?
Make the smart choice. Explore professional antenna installation Toowoomba services today and bring back the magic of reliable entertainment.

is there any sites like Humble Bundles but for music?
is there any sites like Humble Bundles but for music? I'd like to be free of spotify. I've come now to a point in my life where I don't want to pay monthly for subscriptions and would like to buy my own music so I can put it on my watch and be done with it. Especially since I'm paying every months to listen to the same 100 tracks lol.For those who don't know. Humble bundle is a site where you can buy bundles of videogames every months for a cheap price. I'm wondering if there's anything like that but for music. I have a bandcamp account with a small library but that's it.Where do you buy your music? Where can I download games and apps?
Downloading games and apps is easy and can be done from a variety of sources depending on your device and preferences. For mobile devices like smartphones and tablets, the primary sources are official app stores such as the Apple App Store for iOS devices and the Google Play Store for Android devices. These stores offer a vast selection of apps and games, categorized for easy browsing and download. Simply search for the app or game you're interested in, read reviews and ratings of modmomo, and then download it directly to your device with a tap.
For desktop computers and laptops, apps and games are typically downloaded from official websites of developers or through digital distribution platforms like Steam for PC games or the Mac App Store for macOS applications. These platforms often provide additional features such as community forums, user reviews, and recommendations to help you discover new titles.
In addition to official sources, there are alternative app stores and platforms. Amazon Appstore, for example, offers Android apps alongside the Google Play Store, while services like Humble Bundle provide bundles of games at discounted prices, often supporting charity. Indie game stores like Itch.io focus on independently developed games, offering unique and experimental titles not found elsewhere.
Subscription services have also become popular, such as Apple Arcade and Google Play Pass, which offer access to a curated selection of games for a monthly fee. This model allows gamers to explore a wide range of titles without making individual purchases.
Lastly, social media channels and community forums occasionally serve as platforms for developers to release games and apps directly to their audience. This can be a great way to discover new and innovative content, often with direct interaction with the developers.
When downloading games and apps, it's essential to prioritize security by choosing reputable sources and checking reviews. Ensure your device has enough storage space and meets the system requirements for the apps or games you want to download. With these options available, finding and downloading your favorite games and apps has never been more convenient.
