Like, in a life threatening situation, would Raph Leo and Mikey risk sending Swanatello into a panic/fury in order to save his life? Could they even manage dragging him to the med bay?

I love the 2012 turtles and their designs they’re so fucking adorable but also it’s very important to establish they’re adorable because they’re like weird bugs to me. They’re like goofy little fucking aliens I look at Leo and expect him to go “boink bink” or some shit and spin his head around 180 degrees

One of the biggest things that makes me see Leo as trans is absolutely the size of his carapace in comparison to his brothers’.

And I’m not talking about height! I’m specifically looking at his shell here, because when you compare him to the others, particularly Donnie who is nearly the same height as Leo, it’s very clear that Leo’s carapace is much longer in proportion to the rest of his body.

Like - standing side by side, even though Donnie is shorter his carapace ends noticeably higher up than Leo’s does. And I like this not only because it really helps push the idea that Leo could very likely be trans (or intersex!), but it’s also just a fun design difference between them.

(It also lends way to future scenarios of Donnie eventually getting taller than Leo, but sitting down still has Leo being the taller one haha.)

Do you have any advice on designing tortle (dnd) characters?

not exactly, but i did once make a critique and redesign of some live action TMNT characters. so here's the most important part of that post:

the thing to pay attention to with turtle people designs, is that the shell is part of the skeleton and it covers the entire torso. so turtle people will have very very limited flexibility.

if you want them to be able to pull their head and limbs into the shell, you need to make sure their skin is squishy enough to allow it. so less dense muscle, more flabby skin, head and limbs small enough to pull back into the shell. box turtles are a great reference for that.

Finally watched the Mario movie. And let me say Bowser is honestly giving cishet man who is desperately trying to win over a woman in hopes she’ll turn him not gay. (Because of internalized homophobia). I hope in the next movie he’ll fall in love with a man and be happy.
