So does anyone ever think about "The Darkness Within" from TMNT 2003? Like clearly that Lovecraftian nightmare scorpion/squid monster came from a meteorite from space right?

I just want to know if are there others like it?

Drawing Splinter for today’s TMayNT prompt and all I can think about now is how massive rat dad could be if he were a different species of rat altogether.

Here I’m thinking canonically he’s a normal rat, like he started out as a normal rat in 03 which at most a rat is about 9 to 11 inches long including the tail and then he just mutates and turns into a 4 foot 10 inch rat person. I’m 5 foot 1 (or 2, don’t really know. I just know I’m around my mother’s height) so that’s kinda terrifying because I’m looking straight at him already. Just imagine him being a giant rodent and then he gets bigger than that.

I’m thinking of him possibly being a Gambian pouched rat. You know those HeroRats aka rats trained to sniff out landmines and rescue people from rubble?

Those things are about three feet long, (or 0.9 meters if you’re outside of the US).

Have Splinter be one of those, mutate to be an anthro rat, then let’s see how big he is then. I don’t know how tall he is, let alone how much weight he’d have.

I need someone to calculate this.

I said I was good at math but apparently I’m a liar and I can’t convert that for two shells.

Anyways, I’ll just leave that there. I’ve got Rat dad to finish drawing and if I ever make my own iteration (which I doubt will happen anytime soon since I got a TMNG fic and a Ninjago fic to work on), then I’ll figure out Splinter’s sizing and looks then.

How long do you typically spend on each TMayNT drawing? Of the ones you've done so far, which one took the longest? Which one was the quickest?

So my art process consists of finding a base (if there is one), sketching it out on paper and then finishing it on my phone. It takes me a few hours (maybe about two to three) to sketch and that’s if I don’t feel too stressed out or distracted (don’t know why my mind does this to me.) I would get extremely lucky if I ever sketch the night before.

The piece that took the longest is definitely a tie between Day 8 and Day 11.

One of my longest pieces would be Day 8. I believed I explained this in its original post. Long story short. I love Traximus, love the Triceratons, but it took me forever to figure how his face would even look. Like the original base was human but somehow I have to fit a Ceratopsian’s head on it. And then there was Raph and his shell. Took quite a bit.

The other one is my Favorite Splinter. It’s 2003 Splinter but in my AU. It was mostly figuring out a side profile of his body, his tail, and his hands and feet. I thought he looked alright at first until I noticed his head looked a little disproportionate from his body. (Heck his whole body feels disproportionate.) His coloration at the very least saved it for me.

My quickest piece? It’s Day 14. Literally just a title of a Movie. I used to do just title of things all the time. Even made covers for fanfics that won’t really happen ever. So it wasn’t too hard to get it done within a couple of minutes. It might say 24 seconds on my speed paint time but it definitely took like maybe almost ten minutes. (Maybe a little more.)

Long and short of it, the time on a drawing varies. (Sorry for the rant. It’s the best way I can explain anything nowadays.)

Which of your TMayNT pieces were your favorites to do?

Do you have any favorite TMayNT posts you've seen from others?

Now that I have my most recent one posted, I can say it's definitely my Turtlesona prompt. Not even for the Turtlesona at all but more so for my OCs. Love them very much and I really did want them to appear sooner but there was almost nowhere else they could've fit. My other favorite prompt is my favorite episode. I'm a fan of merfolk not looking too humanlike.

I think I actually have a few favorites, but this one was the one I've always looked forward to. It's Baby Turtles from @annaliearts. She draws them babies so little and so cute. It's precious. We honestly need more content of 03 baby turtles. Just them being itty bitty and Splinter figuring out how to be a single father of four rambunctious boys.

Took me years but I finally have name for my main Ninjago AU now.

It's Ninjago Reconstruction AU.

Doesn't sound too original but the idea is that things are basically the same but I reconstruct it to my liking.

Ever just make an OC and you think they’ll just be a one-off character but then all of the sudden, whoop. You dive into the character to understand how they handle a situation you put them in, you help them succeed, develop their personality more than you planned and you’re just attached to your little baby now so you’ve got to see them grow and flourish and make it to the happy ending they deserve?
