Direkt neben…

What if, like, instead of saltburn, they went to Vegas and Venetia and Farleigh couldn't find Oliver and Felix, only to receive a message telling that they found themselves in a hotel room, newly married. Imagine the chaos that would ensue

Summer of Like // Farleigh Start x OC (31)
Farleigh and I fly back to England for Venetia’s funeral. I book us a hotel room a short drive from the church it’s being held at for two nights - the quickest turnaround time for a flight back home. Neither of us want to stay there longer than we have to.
Dressed head to toe in black, we sit at the back of the church. The pews are scattered with people - most of whom I don’t know. I spot some of the Henrys near the middle, and of course the Cattons at the front. I’d sort of expected Elspeth to greet us when we arrived, but so far no one’s spoken to us. Farleigh doesn’t seem surprised at all.
“Do you know who all these people are?” I mutter under the music of the pipe organ so that only Farleigh can hear me.
“James and Elspeth’s friends, mostly.” He mutters back. “I don’t know about those girls over there though.” He nods to our left.
I subtly turn, glancing in the direction he nodded. I recognize a few of the faces - girls from Cambridge that had only pretended to be friends with Venetia because of her family name. None of them liked her really - they just liked her allowance. I scoff louder than I mean to, and a few of them turn to look at me.
“Cambridge groupies.” I say.
Farleigh rolls his eyes. “I think we might be the only two people in this room who actually cared about her.”
A sad longing flares up in my chest, and I start crying. It’s really all I’ve been doing for the past week. I’ve started carrying around travel packets of tissues in my pockets. Farleigh pulls one out of his suit jacket and passes it to me. I wipe away my tears - black streaks of makeup come away with them. I have no doubt I look like a mess.
“Okay?” Farleigh asks.
“Yeah.” I sniffle. “You?”
He nods as the organ swells, the song changing to a proper funeral dirge. My heart sinks as I hear the vestibule doors open behind us. Slowly, Venetia’s casket comes into view, a floret of dainty white flowers placed on top, ribbons streaming down the sides. My vision blurs with tears again, and I pull another tissue from the packet. I loved her. I really loved her.
The congregation begins to sing as the pallbearers bring her up to the altar, where a priest awaits with open arms. A sob forces it’s way out of me, and I’m glad that the organ is loud enough to mostly mask it. Farleigh places a hand on the small of my back, steadying.
“I really miss her.” I say, wiping at my face with another tissue. “I think I’ll miss her for the rest of my life.”
“I know.” He says, and I know he does. I can tell just by the sad way that he looks at me that he feels the same. Probably more, considering that he’d known her for much longer than a year. She was his sister in a way.
I sniffle, forcing the snot trying to run out of my nose back. “I would have loved her.” I say, my voice falling hoarse. “If she’d let me.”
His free hand comes up to brush away a few tears from his face. “I know.”
I pass him a tissue, my attention returning to the front of the room as the priest begins the service. The words float in one ear and out the other. I really would have loved her - I think, since I met her, I’d always been a little in love with her. How could I not be, when she was as beautiful as she was pitiful? She was unlike anyone else I’d ever met. I could talk to her for hours at a time and not get bored. I should have never left her.
My vision blurs, and tears drip off the end of my chin.
“Please stand.”
I rise up from the pew as the organist plays the first few notes of a song. There’s a rustling of pages as the congregation ruffles through their songbooks, and then the singing begins, a dampened chorus. I don’t bother - if I try to sing right now, I know I’ll just end up sobbing. I’m so tired of crying.
“There’s no fucking way.”
Farleigh’s hiss draws my attention away from the altar, and I wipe my eyes. “What?”
“It’s fucking Oliver.” He almost snarls it, staring at the front of the church, where James and Elspeth are sat. I blink a few times, until my vision clears, and tilt my head so that I can see around the people in front of us. Sure enough, a few feet away from Elspeth, a small figure at the end of the pew. For a minute, it just look like anyone, but then he turns, and I would recognize those icy blues anywhere.
“What’s he doing with James and Elspeth?” I whisper.
“I’ve no fucking idea.” Farleigh says, his stare filled with rage.
“You don’t think he’s…?” I trail off, unwilling to even really entertain the idea. There’s no way that he’s still at Saltburn, not after Felix died.
Farleigh just huffs out a spiteful laugh, and shakes his head.
I don’t have time to really think about it before the song is coming to an end, and the priest rises from his seat, his voice booming out over the church. “In the name of the father… the son… and the holy spirit…”
“Amen.” My voice melds with the rest of the congregation. It sounds a lot like ‘I miss you’.

Jacob Elordi is one of the judges at the Marrakech International Film Festival and instead of people trying to figure out just what made the organization choose him to be on panel, many are focusing on his facial hair.
I must say; I love it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is drawing comparisons:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Without the facial hair the only thing he has going for him is his height. Let him have this!
Tumblr media
More Jacob and the SALTBURN alums.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joining Jacob in Emerald Fennell's adaptation of WUTHERING HEIGHTS is Alison Oliver who played Venetia.
Still going strong with Josh O'Connor.
Tumblr media
Venetia and Felix, you'll always hold my heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Barry Keoghan is at work on CRIME 101 with Chris Hemsworth; and according to Ringo Starr himself, Keoghan will be playing him in his biopic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Richard E. Grant who can be seen on HBO's THE FRANCHISE, recently wrapped the Nicholas Galitzine / Emma Corrin / Maika Monroe romantic fantasy 100 NIGHTS OF HERO. Here he is running with the crew. Reading his lovely most recent autobiography, one of the things he talks about it his love of running and running through halls and hotels. I don't think he mentioned dancing like in a vid with his friend Helena Bonham-Carter, to the sounds of singer-actor Johnny Flynn.
-Archie Madekwe will soon be seen in the series HAVEN with Sophie Turner. He gave her her award at Harper Bazaar's Woman of the Year awards.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Galaxy brained Archie had a great Halloween costume. Who else would think of the fail! Oompa Loompa from the disastrous Glasgow Willy Wonka Experience?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Rosamund Pike wrapped NOW YOU SEE ME 3 (here with costar Justice Smith).
Tumblr media
-Ewan Mitchell amazingly has nothing on deck, with the exception of HOUSE OF THE DRAGON. But as long as he keeps getting invited to events, his red-carpet looks are entertainment enough.

hi guys this is very random for me to post , but
i may or may not own possible lost media.
to explain , i was looking at the youtube account of redbluerecords (the record company that first worked with my favorite band , aka the venetia fair.) and i clicked on their video "the venetia fair presents: hotel mania!". the video itself isnt that important , but the audio is. in some clips of the video , there's a song. i liked the song , so i tried looking up the lyrics. there are quite literally 0 matching results when i try to look them up.
the song sounds like it's punk or rock , and the singer is female.
also , i thought there could be a possible chance that it was just another venetia fair song or something like that. but this is impossible because a. the band has never had a female singer , or even a female band member , b. there's no way it's an unreleased demo because it didnt sound like something they made and also because of reason a , and c. they have no songs from when they were still with redbluerecords that even had those lyrics (keep in mind , the venetia fair was only working with redbluerecords for their first album , the circus.).
you can find the audio in a google drive i made containing the audios here. the first and third clip are just instrumentals , and the second clip contains lyrics. i apologize for the noises in the background (and also forgetting to properly trim the first clip), those were in the video. i would be happy even if someone can only identify the singer. also , i don't mind if you post this on other platforms / upload the mp3s to spread them around.
edit : if you want the video i found the song in , then please send an ask in my askbox.

Strike Walk #4
All around Barrow-in-Furness
Career of Evil chapters 24-27
This is Part Five, there's a link to earlier parts at the end.
Although they can see her through the glass door of The Bakery, Strike and Robin decide not to try to speak to Holly Brockbank at her place of work, but to try and catch her later at the pub. Strike mourns the pie he could have bought was it not for Labor Omnia Vincit, but I'm on holiday so I had a nice chat with the owner in her new premises and bought a meat and potato.
Tumblr media
Strike follows Holly while Robin drives to a deserted stretch of road by a marshy wasteland (take your pick) changes out of her jeans and acquires some fake business cards at an unspecified shopping centre.
Tumblr media
They meet at The Crow's Nest - "a large, drum-shaped building of red brick" which stands "where Ferry and Stanley Roads met and formed a hairpin bend".
Tumblr media
Robin goes in as Venetia Hall and, as we know, aces it. I was a bit nervous of going in because it looked like a locals place, but it was the nicest pub and the best pint of lager I have had in years. If you're on your own take some cash though because there's a minumum spend on a card. I had to buy two packets of crisps and a Starbar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the triumph Strike and Robin celebrate with fish and chips from the Olympic Takeaway, eaten in the Landy. The Olympic's "bright windows intensified the surrounding darkness."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After being serenaded by old Barrovians (no-one serenaded me, sadly) they check into the Travelodge, where they are placed upstairs, five rooms apart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Robin, unsettled and self-conscious, opens her window, and notes that the view is of the same industrial warehouses they passed at the start of their visit. I don't know how she'd see that in the dark - I had to wait until the morning after to see anything.
Tumblr media
Footnote: there's no restaurant at the Barrow-in-Furness Travelodge, so Strike can't have filched pastries and Robin can't have filled their flask from the urn in the morning. Personally I feel they shouldn't give planning permission to budget hotels with no breakfast buffet. 😁
That's the end of Strike Walk #4, thanks for reading!
Go back to Part 4

Samiotisches Kaffee-Tagebuch II: Hotel Venezia, Ireo

Venice (Veneto). Pellestrina. The lagoon. Having reached the north of the inhabited center along the lagoon, I go back along the seafront, but as mentioned, the lagoon is a few meters away. On the way back, a little on the beach, a little on the walls, I catch a glimpse of a particular building, it is the Venetia domus, an architecturally particular hotel that stands behind Holy Mary of the Miracle, whose bell towers seem to belong to the building. Having reached the port, the village is now recognizable and it is almost easier to grasp its aspects. Shots: a) panorama of Pellestrina as soon as we set sail from the pier; b) glimpse of Pellestrina from the small port, the church of All saints and its bell tower can be seen in the background; c) the Venetia domus; d) the verses composed in Pellestrina, in the square of the Zennari district, on the Murazzi side. #background #side #shots #beach #walls #catch #hotel #santamaria #venezia #venice #pellestrina #veneto #lagoon #seafront #miracle #pier #panorama #verse #travel #traveling #visiting #instatravel #travelling #tourism #instatraveling #travelgram #travelingram #massimopistis #sovVERSIvi #estremisti Information for the purchase of my new book "Extremists!": The book at a cost of 12.00 euros (120 pages), can be ordered in the bookstore (ISBN 978-88-591-5719-9 - Editore Aletti) or requested to the e-mail [email protected] with additional postage (currently 1.28 euros - fold of books). https://www.instagram.com/p/Cplp3jsIpkA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
