Hot Blood: “Blackmail” from Disco Dracula (1977)

By no means we’re showing you the dedicated Japanese-only 7″ single because the artwork does no justice. We’ll show you the American vinyl version of Dracula & Co. renamed as Disco Dracula. The German dance outfit’s horror-theme is silly and cheesy as hell, but Mobb Deep and Queensbridge fans will march right past the bull- and go right to “Blackmail”. The record’s fifth track is heavy in dramatics but Alchemist used it to give “More Like Us” (2001) its fiendish and evilish feel that made us almost gasp in shock. Without us at Ω+, you wouldn’t even know this unknown stuff existed.

I just thought I’d let you all know about the kid friendly, all ages, totally free rock concert that I’m putting on at DC Brau brewery on Saturday, July 15th from 2pm to 5pm. I did one of these last year and people seemed to really enjoy it so I’m doing another one this year. Since most rock concerts happen way past bed times it’s a fun chance to bring the kids out to a rock show but these aren’t…

Horses: Bandi

(My first horse post! I’ll do these every so often. Basically I’ll choose a random horse, provide some info, as well as my own personal opinion/head cannons if I have any).

Bandi is an adult male horse. He has the body of a regular horse but is considered a hot blood due to his fire attributes. He is unofficially part of hers Elemyn. His art is created by Fie Tholander.

Bandi appears as mostly black. His legs have a fiery coloring to them. His mane and tail are made up of fire and fire can be seen coming out of his nostrils. The bottom of his hooves and eyes glow as well. He wears golden shackles and has a gold chain around his neck. He has a red/orange gemstone on his head.

Bandi’s name is Hungarian. It may be a reference to the Bandi River in India or the word “firefly” in Korean.

Bandi’s stable is that if a regular horses. His picture is from the card art used in Wise Warriors.

Bandi only appeared in one official series. Wise Warriors. That makes Bandi a Danish exclusive. He also appeared as a Halloween promo card. However, the legitimacy of these promo cards are highly debated.

Opinions:

Bandi is cool af. I’m sad that he is exclusive to the Danish series Wise Warriors. I with the company had made some more edgy horses like Bandi. Just for context the Wise Warriors series was made as an attempt to appeal to boys as the main demographic before had really only appealed to girls. Both the card art and the stable rendition are great.

As for headcannons:

- While I do understand the placement of Bandi, I don’t really think he fits the Elemyn theme other than having elemental abilities. I’d personally place him as a loner or more of a horse that isn’t associated with any herd.

- His power is obviously fire and stuff. I also like to think he has some general magic abilities due to his appearance and accessories.

- How he came to be. I believe he was born of dark fire due to his appearance and whole theme. I like to think that he was either born to be used as a tool for dark forces or maybe he was just born looking like that.

-Due to this I think he would’ve been cast as an outsider. Either because others believed he was bad or maybe just scary looking. Maybe both.

- As time went by he learned how to express himself to others. He also learned that it was okay to ask for help, hence his chosen quote.

-Now he travels to land netting new friends and helping others out.

Keeps thinking he's seeing SQQ in the corner of his eyes, or wandering between the trees, amongst a group of disciples. Thinks he hears him calling for him, but its just the wind or another disciple.

Gets Xiu Ya reforged but patently fucking refuses to make a sword mound. Because his disciple Is Not Dead :))) There was No Body. He's Not Dead. And If You keep Insisting That He Is, He's Gonna Skewer You :). He's holding onto Xiu Ya so he can return his most favored disciple's sword when he returns. It's on his hip right next to Zheng Yang where it's supposed to be.

Also this motherfucker?? does not sleep btw. He has the image of SQQ, wide eyed and hysterical and standing at the mouth of the abyss burned into his fucking eyelids. Can't use the dreamscape to escape it either because he keeps trying to save him and either he does and it's an incredibly cruel trick to wake up to, or he doesn't and he gets his heart broken in several different pieces again.

There is no convincing this man that Shen Qingqiu is dead. Absolutely nothing at all. He is buried so deep in denial that moles would be jealous of how deep he is. He keeps making tea for two in the bamboo house only to remember that it's just him. SQQ's fans are hiding everywhere, little reminders of his presence. He goes to wake up SQQ on the mornings he sleeps in-- only to find the room empty.
