Prima Ballerina
Natasha spun round in her pink leotard and tutu, it wasn’t often she found herself with enough free time to refresh her skills but when she could, she took the opportunity. Lorelai was outside in the backyard playing with Dodger, the sight made Natasha smile as she walked into the screened in sunroom. The warmth of the sunshine helped fill the room with relaxation for Natasha.
She played a bit of soft classical music, stretching carefully before she soon found herself dancing around the room on her tippy toes. Her legs ached a bit as it had been a while since she last practiced but she kept dancing. The music grew louder a bit more intense as she danced and twirled round and round. Natasha hadn’t noticed that Ransom had taken Dodger inside to wash up or that Lorelai was sitting in the corner with her juice box watching her mother in awe. Eventually her soft voice spoke up, “Mama?” She asked.
Natasha jolted and stumbled a little as her concentration was broken. She puffed a bit of breath and gave her daughter a smile. “Hey baby, did you get too tired outside?” Natasha walked over to Lor and kneeled beside the girl. Brushing a few sweaty curls from her soft round face.
“How’d you learn to dance like that?” The young girl asked between her last few sips of her juice box. Natasha held back horrific memories at the question.
“When I was a young girl like you I was in ballet class. There weren’t many girls that stayed with the program but those that did became famous dancers. But they live all around the world in all different places.” It wasn’t the truth but also wasn’t quite a lie.. it’s not like the four year old needed to know the exact details, especially when she didn’t have to be exposed to such things.
The little girl looked up at Natasha as if she was a goddess, Natasha leaned in and gave the girls cheek a kiss. “Mama, can I learn to dance with you?”
Natasha smiled brightly and nodded. “Of course you can, babylove. You’ll just need shoes and leggings like mama’s. I can order them for you, let's say after lunch?” Her brow quirked and the young girl nodded enthusiastically.
“Can we have lunchables?” Lor stood up and held her hand out for Nat to get up.
“Why don’t we make one of Mama’s grownups lunchable? You know on that pretty plate you love?” She asked as she stood and took her daughter's hand.
Lorelai bounced up and down happily, Natasha chuckled. “Knew you’d like that baby.”
Natasha turned the music off and led the pair into the kitchen, scooping Lor up she sat her on the countertop while Natasha grabbed the fancy charcuterie board from the island. Lorelai wiggled happily at the sight of the board and traced her little finger on the pattern.
While Lorelai played with the board, Natasha gathered the deli meat and cheese before cutting them into squares like a lunchable as well as grabbing two different crackers for them. “What else do you want, bubble?” She asked her daughter.
Lorelai hummed in thought. “Some strawberries and grapes please.” She said, Natasha then went to the fridge and pulled out the washed fruits before setting them neatly on the board.
“Did you want water or another juice?” She asked, Lorelai having carefully scooted down from the counter so she could stand in front of the fridge that Nat left open.
Natasha chuckled softly at the sight of the little girl in front of the big refrigerator but she grabbed her another juice box and a bottle of water for herself before she handed them to Lor. “Here baby, you take these and Mama will get the food. You just find us something on tv you wanna watch.”
The girl bounced happily and sped off to the big fancy couch that resided in their living room. Ransom was watching the news but Lor pounced on him making him grunt softly from her weight. “Papa!! Is my turn now to watch something.” She whined almost like Natasha would.
Natasha followed in moments later and set the board down on the coffee table. Ransom held Lorelai in his lap as the pair playfully fought for the remote. The little girl giggled profusely as he tickled her sides. “Alright you two, why don’t you both pick something to watch?” She asked as she sat down with them, curling her legs under her a bit.
Lorelai and Ransom conferred in whispers while Natasha ate a ham and cheese cracker, scrolling on her phone looking at ballet outfits for Lorelai. After a few moments Ransom spoke up. “Seems we have come to an agreement, we should watch The Lorax.” He grinned over at Nat, her green eyes flicked up and a smile grew on her lips.
“It’s my favorite movie.” She nodded in agreement, and soon Ransom turned the movie on, the little yellow fluff appeared on the screen.
Her smile grew as she felt little flutters in her tummy, she rubbed her little tummy and ate another cracker as she set her phone aside to cuddle up with her family properly. Lorelai was entranced with the movie, Natasha knew they could finish up their talk about ballet later, right now they were all together as a family.
All four of them even if one happened to be a little speck on a clover flower.

TFP Headcanon time!
You know how, in Rescue Bots, Optimus Prime mentions having read human books, and loving The Little Engine That Could?
He DEFINITELY adores Horton Hears a Who.
Like, think about it: It's about a character who finds a tiny, fragile planet full of tiny people who need help, and he just wants to rescue them while everyone around him (like the Decepticons) wants to destroy it, simply because they don't understand.
"A person's a person no matter how small" would vibe with him so hard, because he's basically in the same situation protecting Earth and humans.
He even says something similar in "Scrapheap" when Arcee is making fun of Bulkhead for being big.
And the ending where all the animals finally hear the Whos and change their ways is Optimus's dream of how he wishes the war would end. He's so kind, he perceives the Decepticons (especially Megatron) as "not understanding" the value of Earth, rather than understanding but not caring.

heaven ! fernando a. x ofc (mom!professional wrestler!canadian!ofc)
"i don't know how heaven could be better than this."
summary: everyone's talking about the hearth sisters, lester and their partners. but what about the original F1 it couple of the 2000s? OR beatrice anastasia 'trish' alonso is the only woman who can balance out fernando alonso's insanity with her calmness, and she happens to be the grid's crush of the season.
content warning: fluff, mentions of mclaren fernando, dad!fernando, family-centric (ish), possible use of explicit language, badly translated spanish, tim hortons references, 2023 canadian gp, f1 drivers are down bad, petty fernando at the very end, using 'trish stratus' (the actual ring name of the wrestler) as the ring name of oc
note: was writing third part of my max verstappen thing, worked on cmyc for a minute, thought about nando and that photo with the models, made these posts, had a breakdown. bon appetit xx

2018 ROYAL RUMBLE - TRISH STRATUS TALKS ABOUT COMING BACK TO THE RING AS A WOMEN'S ROYAL RUMBLE ENTRANT
[1st image: i've definitely missed being in the ring. for the past few years i've been working back and forth in spain and canada- where my yoga studio is. i've been watching my husband, fernando, race throughout the years and we've been taking the kids along whenever we could.]
[2nd: i've told him (fernando) at some point that i've missed being out there and wrestling. months before, hunter (triple h) called me and wondered if i'd like to be a part of... this. i had never been so happy to hear that they want me to be a part of this very important event that will impact women's history at the professional wrestling industry. now here i am, participating in the first women's royal rumble.]
[3rd: it's been an eye opener for me, to be honest. i've met many women that are new here- some of them apparently grew up watching me alongside stephanie mcmahon and lita and the other ladies. i had never been this happy nefore because we never had the same platform as men - and back then, it wasn't as diverse in the women's division. so for me to be a part of this, so far, has been an absolute privilege. i will never ever waste any time spent here.]
[4th: my husband was more excited than i was *laughs*. throughout his break, he did everything a supportive spouse would have done. he took the kids to watch me train, we often did our workouts and yoga together, he was actually the one who suggested i wore these ring gears. he's highly excited to see me in the ring tonight - he even wore an old trish stratus merchandise that he bought years ago.]
[5th: he's supposed to be in uk for his sim racing practice, but he phoned me few days ago telling me that he was already flying in with our kids - one of which is a six month old - from spain. he said that "he didn't want to miss out on his wife making history again." so... here i am! making history with the most talented women in wwe, as my fernando wanted.]
2016 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX - POST-RACE INTERVIEW WITH FERNANDO ALONSO
[1st image: i know that my mom and my wife are watching the tv, so i got out quite quickly.]
[2nd: trisha has been calling me every hour to see if i'm okay. i keep telling her that i'm okay but she doesn't believe me for one bit- i was like "what do you want me to do???" *laughs* but i am flying back to canada as soon as i can because i miss her and our son.]
[3rd: it's not the first time that has happened to me but now i know i have to make it out of such situation because i have a family. our son, frederico, is only 2. i still want to see him and his many siblings grow up, you know? this is the first time i've been scared (enough) because i promised to take him swimming when we go back to spain. so, yes. i would like to get out of australia as quickly as possible so i can rest with my wife and our son.]

Soooo my sister finally wanted to watch bob. We just watched episode 1 and we are halfway through the 2nd and some notable commentary:
She said Winters and Nixon looked similar at first🤣 I asked why, she replied with a blank face: they’re dressed the same, girllll what are you on. They’re in the army everyone dresses the same😭
On second opinion they don’t look alike. (Duhh)
Loudly exclaimed “is that Ross?!” When seeing Sobel. Immediately hated him 10 times more.
Had the pleasure to inform her that she and Sobel shared a birthday. She looked at me in horror.
Proclaimed “I would rather die” when hearing 3 miles up, 3 miles down.
Told her that Tipper said Sobel became his personal enemy and pointed him out. Now every time he’s on screen (which was twice) she pointed at him and says “Tipper!” Like their besties.
During the mess hall scene when they’re eating spaghetti she mentioned: it’s nice that’s it actually raining??? And didn’t elaborate on it.
Asked who the 200 condoms belonged to. Has her priorities straight.
She lit said “why are they fighting over Sobel.” Before Tipper’s scene and she gasped when she recognised him and did the thing. I fear for episode three.
Loves Luz, like, laughed her ass off when he mimicked Sobel and Horton. It was a bit concerning. Is her current favourite
Her second favourite is Toye, purely because he put the horse out of its misery. She loves horses.
She doesn’t like Speirs, said he was mean. (this was bc he stole Compton’s cigarettes the next scene made it about 10 times worse)
We are watching the rest of episode 2 and then 3 Thursday. But I just love hearing an opinion of someone who doesn’t know anything about bob or hbo war in general.

Continuing with the Production/Post-Production audio commentary for TTT, with Barrie Osbourne (producer), Mark Ordesky (executive producer), Andrew Lesnie (director of photography), Mike Horton (editor), Jabez Olssen (additional editor), Rick Porras (co-producer), Howard Shore (composer), and Jim Rygiel (visual effects supervisor). Here are my notes for things that were new to me:
There's actually very little CG involved in the transition from the aerial shot of the mountains in that first scene to the inside of Moria with the Balrog. The mountains were obviously shot from a helicopter, and then they built a little tunnel set that they moved the camera through, and then they just slapped them together so it would look like you're basically going through a crack in the rock to get to the cavern where the scene is happening.
Originally, Sam's knot in the Elven rope untying was going to be a CG shot, but someone on set on the day figured out how to tie the right kind of knot that they could just pull apart like that and make it look believable.
Okay, this is why I love what Howard Shore did with the soundtrack so much. When talking about coming up with Gollum's theme, he said he wanted to take an instrument that's used in the Shire music and incorporate it into Gollum's music, because Gollum was once something like a Hobbit. He ended up choosing the hammered dulcimer, because it has a very tremolo quality to it that seemed to fit Gollum's character. But there's still an echo of what he once was.
In that beautiful shot going up Barad-dur, they shot this huge miniature they'd made that was 166th scale and stood almost 7 meters tall. Even though it was so huge, they had to get the camera very close to capture the detail; it was never more than three or four inches away from the surface. The main challenge was keeping the lighting consistent, because you'll notice the camera moves almost 180 degrees around the tower. So they actually had to move the light source with the camera as they twisted around the tower.
The Wild Men are played by a biker gang! XD
It was a little confusing how this was said, but I think this is what he means: Almost all of the dialogue in these movies was rerecorded, because the nature of the action going on or the conditions of the location or having to speak through prosthetics and whatnot made the dialogue recorded on the day unusable. The only characters they never bothered recording ADR for were the mother who sends her children to Edoras on the horse, and the girl. The conditions that day were good enough, and the girl's performance was so good on the day, they knew they would never be able to recreate it in a recording booth, so they used what they recorded on the day. But everybody else had to rerecord lines. That doesn't mean all the dialogue you hear is necessarily ADR, but something like 85% of it is. I think they did a really good job of not making it sound like it's all recorded in a booth!
Something you sort of unconsciously notice but maybe don't consciously think about it is how the lighting in Edoras reflects Theoden's mental state. In the beginning, when he's completely under Saruman's control and is on the verge of an unnatural death, the hall is kept very dark, and the colors are all muted, with lots of yellowish and greenish tints to make you feel slightly sick. But then once Gandalf comes and releases him from Saruman's control, there's much more light and vibrant color in the hall.
Three of the times Viggo kicked the infamous helmet, it hit Andrew Lesnie's leg XD He says he winced every time it went past, and it's a wonder he didn't jiggle the camera when it happened.
They mentioned it's really difficult to get a horse to stomp on top of a camera underneath plexiglass. You can train them to do it for days, and it's kind of a toss-up whether they'll actually do it on the day, because they really don't like doing it. So I guess it's pretty cool that they managed to get that shot of a horse almost stomping Pippin!
I have trouble identifying the voices, but someone said, "You've got to throw out preconceived notions of how to make movies when you're working with - either with Peter, or with a giant tree guy holding a couple of Hobbits."
They talked about the importance of foley for selling Gollum as a real character who was really there in the same place as the other actors. At first, the foley guys performed him the way he looks, with very light movements since he's so skeletal. But then they went back and made the movements sound heavier after all, because it just made him feel more real. Another thing they did sometimes was make the movements of Gollum's hands with wet hands or putting their hands on wet rock. They had some samples to enhance the vocal work, what they call "sweeteners" (another example of which would be putting animal growls in with the orc voices). But actually, Andy Serkis did most of the sounds so well with his own voice, they didn't really need any sweeteners for Gollum.
Gandalf's battle with the Balrog was originally going to be longer. You would see not just them crashing into the water, but then they would come out of some kind of lake, and the Balrog's flames would be extinguished, leaving behind just a slimy black monster. You would also see several Watchers like the one in the pool outside Moria from FotR, scuttling away because they're afraid of the Balrog. Personally, I'm glad they didn't bother doing all of that, not least because it would have probably dragged on too long.
For the scene where the Black Gate opens, naturally the mountain trolls that open it were CG, but they had little foam-rubber models there while filming the miniature. At one point, someone set them up so they were playing chess while they waited for the signal XD
They put a lot of thought into how much sunlight they should have in and around Mordor. For the story, Orodruin is sort of belching out these unnatural clouds to hide the sun so the orcs can be outside, and then there's also the symbolic significance of the encroaching darkness. But the problem is that, if everything is always dark all the time, the darkness actually either becomes distracting (hello, all movies and TV shows these days where you can't even see what's happening!) or you become so desensitized to it that you don't notice it anymore. So they often made the decision to have some sunlight breaking through the clouds despite everything, just to provide some contrast so you'd really feel how dark the darkness is, so to speak.
Somebody said: "On some level, we're used to looking at movies and seeing real photography. We know what it is. We may not be able to define it, but we know it when we see it. And so if you're looking at a film and you don't see what we perceive as real photography, we start to worry at some level. We start to wonder, 'How did they do that?' or 'Why does this look the way it does?' or 'Why do I not feel that this is quite right?' When that happens, you've lost the audience, because you're not doing good storytelling. Our job is to tell a story. It's just to tell a story. It's not to show off and show how cool we are at making a digital image or how cool we are at making miniature shots. It's to tell a story and then walk away and erase our tracks."
Uma Thurman was once thought of for the role of Eowyn and Ethan Hawke was going to be Faramir?????? ఠ ͟ಠ
Bernard Hill told one of them that it really mattered that they bothered to go the extra mile and actually construct things when they could have done it digitally. He said it informed his and the other actors' performances, because if they thought it was worth the trouble of going out to some remote location and spending 5-6 months building an actual Edoras when they could have done it all on a set with bluescreen, then it must be worth the actors giving their performances every bit of effort they possibly could.
Sometimes they had to digitally fix the color of Gandalf's nose, because it was a prosthetic, and sometimes it would react differently to the light and would be really obvious that it wasn't his real nose XD
It took 98 takes to get the simbelmyne falling to the ground just right!
All the fires in the Golden Hall, including the one in the center, were gas fires so they could be completely controlled. Not a detail I ever considered before!
Apparently there was some friction between Peter Jackson and Viggo Mortensen about how he played the scene in the stables where he calms Brego. I guess Peter wanted the scene to be more about Aragorn and Eowyn's relationship, while Viggo felt (and played the scene) that the focus should be on Aragorn and Brego. 100% horse girlie behavior XD
During the storyboard stage for the warg battle, one guy was sketching out some ideas for beats in the scene, and at one point he had Aragorn's horse get killed, not knowing the plans for emphasizing the bond between Aragorn and Brego. And Peter Jackson just kind of looked at him and went, "You're going to kill Brego?!" Obviously, they didn't go with that idea.
Apparently they often struggled to keep Orlando Bloom in focus, because he does a lot of "intense Elvish staring," as they described it XD So basically, Orlando's feet would hit the right mark, but then because he's supposed to be giving a sharp glare or looking intently farther than the human eye can see, he would often sort of lean forward, making it difficult for the camera operators to anticipate exactly where he would be so they could keep him in focus.
An interesting observation that the Uruk-Hai's pikes give you more of a sense of how many there are than the actual orcs themselves.
Peter Jackson got the idea for the lamps the Elves hold when they leave Rivendell the day before they were going to film that scene, so the props department worked overnight and made them all in time for the shoot! @_@
Most of the sets were built from foam - specifically, a kind of blue foam that is used to insulate refrigerated trucks. It's very dense and firm material that is easy to carve and also very light, which makes it easier to transport pieces of the set if necessary. Most of the miniatures were also carved from foam, except for the Barad-dur miniature, because it had to be at such a small scale. If they tried to carve the miniature at the level of detail they needed, the foam would have just fallen apart, so they had to work with a harder material (he didn't say what).
An interesting issue that cropped up in the Helm's Deep battle I never would have thought of is the part at the beginning where all the Uruk-Hai are banging their pikes against the ground. Most of them are CG, created by the Massive program that was developed for the army movements so they wouldn't have to be individually animated. So they could program Massive to make the Uruk-Hai bash their spears against the ground, but it was the program that would choose the rhythm in which they did it. It makes for a realistic shot, as anyone who's tried to get a crowd to clap along in time with some music can tell you, but it led to some headaches for the sound team when the rhythms Massive chose were different from what the actual extras did on the day. They had to overlap the sounds of the rattling spears in such a way that it would sound believable with what you see.
They added in a lot of digital arrows to the battle of Helm's Deep, as you might imagine. But some of the arrows were practical ones that were really there, light ones that were blunt and wouldn't hurt anyone - which is great, but unfortunately that means they don't necessarily fly as well as sturdier arrows meant to kill things. One of the difficult things the editing team had to do was choose takes where none of the practical arrows flew astray, so the digital arrows could be added in without having to do the extra work of painting out arrows that weren't going where they were supposed to.
They made a weird comment about that part where Aragorn's like, "How long do you need?" and Theoden responds, "As long as you can give me." Apparently, it was originally "How much time do you need?" but they thought that would be...anachronistic? Like people in Middle Earth, with a more or less medieval level of technology, would have no concept of time itself? People were keeping track of time by sundials and candles and things (not to mention just looking up in the sky and noting the position of the sun) in the Middle Ages, so I have no idea what they're talking about.
Massive and motion capture footage worked really well together. They could motion capture an orc climbing up a ladder, for example, then put that movement into the Massive program, and it would have the other figures react to it like any other Massive figure. I imagine that made things a lot easier for directing the battle the way they wanted it to go.
The part where Legolas shoots down one of the ladders was completely made in the editing/post-production stage. They just found a clip of Legolas shooting, painted out whoever he was shooting at, and instead put in the digital shot of the Uruk-Hai on the ladder.
They shot a whole storyline of Eowyn helping Morwen (the mother of the two children who run away from the burning village) give birth in the caves, and because of this they have to stay behind while all the other civilians escape out the back way. Then some Uruks come, and Eowyn has to fight them off. Uhhh...I wanna see that!!! I totally get why they cut it out of the movie, but...still!
Some of the close-up footage of Aragorn during the final charge was actually originally from the warg battle.
I think I noted this from one of the previous commentaries, but I still marvel over it. For Sam's speech at the end that ties the three climaxes together, all they had of that in the original shoot was the parts where you actually see Sam looking through the window. The part where it's just voiceover while you see the montage of everything else that's happening? All of that was added in later, with just Sean in a recording booth. And, as Mark Ordesky put it as he was talking about it, now you can't imagine it any other way.

murdoch characters and what they would call tim hortons
murdoch : the full tim hortons. murdoch would call miles gilbert horton by his christian name if he could. but also deep down i think he desires a simpler time where he can say timmy’s
ogden : tim’s rolls off her tongue like it was made to be
george : tim’s, the full tim hortons when feeling extra, timothy hortons when making a point. proceeds to be shocked upon learning that tim horton’s name was in fact not timothy
brackenreid : does not go there ; has personal beef
henry : look me in the eye and tell me this man ISNT saying timmies. george objects to this spelling bc it implies that the products themselves are called timmies (singular timmy) like at least timmy’s keeps that meaning that the restaurant belonged to tim horton. henry points out that it’s spelled tim hortons w/o an apostrophe so timmies should technically be considered the correct spelling and george informs him that they only got rid of the apostrophe bc of a language law in québec and henry is like why do you care you don’t even call it that and george is like it’s the principle of things and by the time henry’s asking about his opinion on the name timbits the person at the drive thru window is sick of them bc their coffee’s getting cold
semi related remember timbiebs. henry wouldve gotten the merch.
violet : tim’s but she doesn’t go very often, she has way better options
effie : effie is such a timmy’s girlie you’d hear her say « i think i want timmy’s » and think yeah that’s such a thing she would say. truly it’s the most logical option in the world. rest in peace effie newsome you wouldve loved calling tim hortons timmy’s
watts : tim hortons or tim’s but like violet he doesnt go very often bc he knows better places to get coffee and donuts, mourns the pretzel bagel constantly
margaret : tim horton’s, way used to the apostrophe and when one she goes to frequently changes their signage she mentions it to brax who’s like why does it matter bad coffee is bad coffee doesnt matter who it belongs to lmaoooo
choi : tim hortons but only bc he hasnt been canadian long enough. in due time he will start to adapt tim’s i believe this to be true

Infact Lando is dreading this trip and everything about it. Including going to canada, meeting new people and just everything. He thought that it was made clear by his reactions to your plans that he did not want to accompany you on this trip. every time you mention it his face drops and he groans.
You know about how much lando doesnt want to go on this trip with you but you cant figure out why. You want to share your life with him. You want to share where you came from your friends your family and everything in between. Yet he just doesn’t seem on board for reasons you and him are not even sure about.
Finally approaching the final days before the trip you decide to sit down with Lando and have a conversation with him about him refusing to come with you. Althought the conversation beging peaceful you never expected for it to come to this.
“Lando please just tell me why you cant come with me ive spent months planning this for us me and you not me alone” you plead with him hoping hell understand how important this is for you.
“Ive made plans plus canada is a shit country anyway I’ve seen it before i don’t need to see it again” lando states out of anger leaving you confused.
“Oh… im going to leave don’t follow me dont text me just not until i get back at least” it hurt, it hurt you to hear lando say your country isnt worth visiting, it hurts to hear hes disregarded every plan you had made for the two of you just to make his own. It hurt knowing he didn’t care enough to do something he knew you were so excited about even if he didn’t want to. Everything about him doing this hurt.
Lando knew he fucked up the moment he saw you leave with your suit case. He didn’t mean to hurt you he just had other things he wanted to do during his summer break and that doesn’t include spending it in canada. He made
Plans about a week ago to go golfing with Carlos and his father, he made plans to stream with max, he made plans to stream with filly,
And he had stuff he wanted to do with quadrant he didn’t see the big deal.
2 days later you made it to the airport alone. You had an uber drop you off. In the uber you have came to the conclusion that you don’t need lando to enjoy spending time with your family and friends so you had blocked his number. Although you and all of your friends knew that this was only temporary until you get back to Monaco. You thought it was best you and Lando have some space as he truly did hurt you with every action and every word he had said and done.
Making it to canada your first stop off the plane is to grab a coffee from Tim hortons as it was closest to the airport.
Lando at home had been busy all these plans he made have finally caught up to him and he’s realizing now that he not getting the break he had thought he would during the summer. He missed you, he missed waking up with you he missed your voice, your smile just everything about you. You had been radio silent for days and lando doesn’t understand why so he decided to be the first to reach out
It’s not till he’s speaking with max does he notice that he’s been blocked. Max made him realize a lot that day including why you had been so upset about what he said and his choices to set up his own plans when you had spent months planning something for the both of you.
He feels guilty. He knows he messed up and he knows he has to make up for it. It doesn’t help when he sees your instagram post about how much you had missed home and your friends. So he spends the next day setting everything up. He messages your parents to see when would be a good time to stop by, he books a flight, and finally packs everything he needed from the list you had sent him a while ago.
YourUsername . Just posted

Finally he knocks. You’re confused and so are your friends. No one else was coming over so who was knocking? You paused the movie which happened to be your and landos favourite movie to watch together the hangover.
As you swing the door open your met with the piercing eyes of Lando which makes you feel so many different things. He’s here.
He’s actually here you don’t believe it so you do what you see in movies and punch him in the arm but not hard enough to hurt him.
“Ouch babe what the hell” Lando exclaims even though you both knew it didn’t hurt.
“Sorry had to make sure you were real plus you deserve that” he knows he does, he really does deserve that and so much more. So as he pulls you into the tightest hug ever he whispers.
“I know i know im so sorry i fucked everything up, i fucked up this trip you’ve been planning for months and in the process i hurt you im so sorry you have no idea” he continues to go on and on so you pull him into a deep heart felt kiss that he knew meant you appreciated him coming.
Although you knew he still had to work to be forgiven in the moment all you cared was that despite not wanting to he had come all this way.
Authur:
Thankyou to everyone who reached out last post and to everyone who engaged means alot!!
Also i messed up the text messaages nooo just know their meant to be from lando to y/n

Why Green Eggs & Ham (GEAH) Is The Best Dr. Seuss Adaptation.🍳💚 (Analysis)
Hello Everyone!! Hope you're all doing good and well and everything's going well for you all. ♥️ Wanted to come here and discuss about a show, an incredible show that even after it's release and end, it's still a well-made and amazing show that still great all these years later, and the show I'm talking about and referring to is Netflix's Green Eggs & Ham, I'm gonna discuss about how it's the best Dr. seuss adaptation to date.
Now, before we discuss and talk about Green, Eggs & Ham, we need to talk about and mention the past Dr. Seuss adaptations and dive deep into them real quick. Now when it comes to adaptations to Dr. Seuss's work, most of the time it's either hit or miss, mediocre or just flat out terrible and awful. One thing I've gotta mention is that Dr. Seuss beforehand wasn't very open to adaptations to his work, with the reason being that he was worried and afraid that his characters would be used in context for things he didn't 100% and necessary didn't agree with. But that eventually changed when he came to the cartoon adaptations that we all know today and overtime would loosen up his views and allow more adaptations of his work. And the first adaptation of his work was an animated short called "Horton Hatches The Egg" (based on Seuss's book of the same name and this book came way before Horton Hears A Who, btw) which was released back in 1942 and going forward, Dr. Seuss would later begin working very closely with the adaptations to make sure they stay true to the book, to the source material and in 1966, Seuss would authorized eminent cartoon artist, Chuck Jones himself (who was a close friend of Seuss as they also served in World War II together) to make a cartoon adaptation short based on "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" which would become the Christmas classic we all know and love to this day, Chuck would also go on to eventually direct + produce adaptations of both "Horton Hears A Who" (1970) and "The Cat In The Hat." (1971)
Dr. Seuss sadly passed away and died at the age of 87 from cancer on September 24th 1991 and from that point until her own death in 2018, his widow, Audrey Seuss would have full licensing of her husband's work and eventually gave in to the temptations of hollywood adaptations of Seuss's work which would be the movie adaptations. Let's start with "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" which was released back in 2000, so to basically recap this film although I loved it as a kid and still kinda do, I see it as a guilty pleasure (now as an adult) and rewatched the movie not that long ago and I don't believe it's aged very well honestly.
There are some good things to this film such as Jim Carey as The Grinch himself, which is perfect casting and the makeup effects on him are incredible, you truly by him as The Grinch, there are some funny moments, I'll still watch it here and there around the holiday's and the set design is pretty good. But when you take off the nostalgiatic googles you can see the problems with the film, now..as I said, this film does have a good set design, but it's hidden underneath all of this murky colorless filter to the point it looks so dull to look at honestly, like there's not much life. Along with that, the movie is just incredibly meanspirited, almost everyone in Whoville is terrible (besides Cindy) and unlikeable, soulless and just care about materialism which I get is the point of the film, but it just goes against the message of the book, The Grinch shouldn't have to explain and spell out the message for the who's, HE'S the one who's supposed to learn the lesson not the other way around, but the movie just gets it totally backwards.
Now, although this film hasn't aged the best and there are so many issues with the film, there are some good elements to it, it's definitely not the worst Dr. Seuss adaptation and I'll still watch it sometimes around Christmas, but it just hasn't aged the best, but again..It's not the worst Dr. Seuss adaptation, no that goes to the next one we're about to discuss.
Alright, so in 2003 another live action Dr. Seuss adaptation was released, that being "The Cat In The Hat" starring Mike Myers. And I'll keep this short and simple as I wanna get this one out of the way, I also rewatched this film not long ago too and it still sucks years later, there is really nothing good about this film honestly. From the set design, to the acting, (especially from Myers himself) the makeup, especially the makeup and CGI. The jokes are also abysmal and this film doesn't capture anything from the source material and almost feels like a slap in the face and say what you want about The Grinch, at least SOME effort and decent stuff was added in that film, even not done the best exactly. But with this film, it's just awful and bad..you know a movie is terrible when Audrey herself said that her husband would've despised the film and prohibited any further live-action adaptations of Seuss's work because of how bad the film was. This film itself is honestly why Dr. Seuss was so hesitant and nervous to allow adaptations of his work and I still believe there is the worst Dr. Seuss adaptation to date, luckily the next few adaptations of Seuss's work (mainly when it came to the film adaptations) would be done in computer animation instead of live action.
So, after the disaster and failure of The Cat In The Hat, we ended up getting some more film adaptations of Seuss's work which would all be animated and those being "Horton Hears A Who", (2008) The Lorax" (2012) and "The Grinch" (2018) and we've got another adaptation in the works based on Cat In The Hat that'll be released in 2026 by Warner Bros. But for now, let's quickly discuss the other film adaptations and I won't dive super deep into them, I'll just quickly go over as I don't exactly have a whole lot to say about them, honestly. Alright, so "Horton Hears A Who" was the next adaptation and was released back in 2008 and it's the debatably the best Dr. Seuss movie but that's not really saying a lot, and I'll definitely say that it's definitely decent but there's not much to it, there is some charm to it but overall it's just a fine film. It's not bad or god awful, but not all that great either, the film kinda feels all over the place with its story and humor especially but mostly as a whole as it seems to be struggling to turn a short story into a full length film which that's a criticism you can say for the other Seuss movies as well. Sure the animation is nice and often pretty to look at and there are some jokes that land, but this film is just alright and is watchable. I'll definitely say that this film AT LEAST does understand the message of the book and the animation has I said is great and pretty and actually does lend itself well to the Dr. Seuss world, but overall this film is okay, it's definitely better than Cat In The Hat and it's not insulting garbage but there are better films to watch, but I'd say give this a watch if you're curious and haven't seen it.
Let's move on and discuss both The Lorax and The Grinch which were both made by Illumination, instead of giving these two their own sections I'm gonna to just to discuss them in their own paragraph here, so hopefully that's fine, lol! Alright, so when it comes to The Lorax...overtime, it seems to be kinda decisive especially over the years with some either hating, loving it, or just not caring about it. I'm more in the hating and not caring for it category, now in terms of adaptations, this isn't the worst one over what we've discussed so far, but it's still a bad and not very good film. First off, this film clearly has cooperate studio meddling written all over it, and I'm not just talking about the product placement in the film's marketing, (which btw, is counterproductive and goes against the film's message!) but I'm also referring to the big hollywood actors casting and pop songs, and just trying just so hard to hip and not understanding the source material in the slightest, this film kinda feels like it was made so make money and just never to be talked about again, and also feels dated as well too. That's not the only issues with the film, there's also other problems as well from the casting like I've mentioned, and I know star casting has become a huge problem and talkative subject over the years but the casting for this film feels off, I mean you've got Zac Efron playing a 12yr and Taylor Swift, and no offense to these two, but they were very miscasted and you can tell they only got these two to appeal and become they're famous, and not only that, there's also how they wrote The Onceler and just 100% redoing his character and just making him into this emo guitar player, Ect. This film is another Dr. Seuss movie that doesn't understand the message of the book, the book didn't try to oversimplify the environmental message by simply, "Yeahhh, man and humanity sucks, ahhh!!" It just was never that simple, it's NEVER that simple even in real life, and the book did a great job starting a conversation rather than simply pointing a finger at someone. I'll definitely say that the animation is gorgeous and it's colorful and seems to capture some spirit of the world of Dr. Seuss but it just feels wasted on such a weak story, weak characters, a genetic cooperate villain that's there for the film's message and nothing more rather than a fleshed out character, and overall a forgettable experience. Again, although this film is a mixture of bad and mediocre, it's still not as bad as Cat In The Hat.
And now we finally have The Grinch from 2018, which was greenlit by Audrey before her passing. And I'll say that I do remember watching this film in theaters with my mom and thought it was decent for what it was, but after rewatching the film for this analysis, I'll say that while the film has some flaws, it's definitely decent for what it is, the film does leave out some of the best parts of the original book and ended up changing the message of the story in general, it's not like the message they were trying to teach was bad or anything, the intension is there and this film still is fun and very colorful and I can see some heart and decent soul put into it , it's definitely a decent and alright film, and I can understand why some loved and enjoy it and think it's a fine film and think it's a lovely sendoff to the Dr. Seuss movie adaptations. (For now, at least)
ALRIGHT!! Now we finally move on to the adaptation that this whole post is all about, let's finally discuss the latest Dr. Seuss adaptation that's been released out to date, that being Netflix's 'Green, Eggs & Ham' that was released back on November 8th 2019. Now, I'll honestly say that I remember going into this show I didn't exactly have many expectations as knowing how past adaptations have been in when came to Dr. Seuss and his work, I didn't know what to expect and thought this show was be really bad or mediocre at the least, but I remember hearing positive things about the show and seeing images and clips of the show got me rather interested and curious, so I remember going onto Netflix and checking out the show and after watching all 13 episodes of the first season I was pleasantly surprised by how damn good and well made this show is/was, like everything about this show is incredible from it's talented voice cast, from it's animation, (the show looks great especially since tv shows that are based on movies don't have the same budget as the films) from the characters, the story and just everything. You can clearly see all the hard work, love and dedication that went into this show and could tell that the ones working on the show truly cared about Dr. Seuss and his work and wanted to make a show not just for kids but something for almost everyone can enjoy. Everything thing in this world when it comes to the show just looks, breaths and 100% feels like Dr. Seuss, I also love and appreciate the references to other Dr. Seuss books and while the other Seuss tv shows and even the films themselves (except for Cat In The Hat) they were also able to capture nail the look of Dr. Seuss but something about Geah feels different, it truly nails the spirit and world of Dr. Seuss and it's just a beautiful looking show on every level, the animators really poured their love and soul into animating this show.
And it only gets better from here, there's also other amazing things about the show especially when it comes to the writing, characters and the story itself. And with this show, instead of 100% focusing solely on the story of the book, this show instead decided to change the story up and intertwine the original story into this new one. So, in this show, Guy-Am-I (played by Michael Douglas) is an inventor and who's very down on his luck mostly due to his inventions and dreams always blowing up right in his face, after one of his inventions fails his chance to going to Meepville, Guy decides to quit inventing and throw away the towel. Eventually, Guy runs into Sam-I-Am (played by Adam Devine) who's this chipper, loveable ball of sunshine who stole a creature known as The Chickeraffe ("Mr. Jenkins") that intends to return it to its natural habitat and have it reunite with its mother. But after getting their suitcases mixed up and when a mysterious agent duo known as "BAD GUYS" show up and attempt to take the Chickeraffe, this results in both Guy and Sam teaming up together in order to get to Meepville to save Mr. Jenkins and get him home. Now, while this story especially with its main characters, we've seen this type of storyline a million times before as it takes two characters with different personalities and putting them together as they learn to get along and know more about one another, being another typical buddy road trip formula. But it actually works very damn well with this show, throughout the first season, we see that Sam is able to have a huge impact on Guy and his life, in the beginning, Guy starts off as a closed off, grumpy frustrated individual who's very down on his luck and doesn't like anyone. Meanwhile Sam on the other hand, is very upbeat, loves life and is sweet and kind to almost everyone he meets and likes everybody. Again, while we've seen this type of thing many times before, this show does this type especially many other tropes that are shown in this show pretty well, and throughout the first season we actually see the characters grow, we see Guy starting to be more open and confident and even becomes more happier and even starts doing more with his life and trying new things such as inventing, friendship, family, love, ect.
And I think what also makes this formula work is the believable friendship and dynamic between Guy and Sam, it's incredibly well written and you truly do believe in their friendship and their dynamic and interactions is great!! The two clearly have an impact on another one another but Guy especially and while the first season was mainly focus on Guy and his journey, the next season gives a lot of focus on Sam when it comes to him wanting to find and reunite with his mom, but we'll get slightly more on that a little later! But Sam is also another great and well developed character and he's an example of an annoying character done right which can be a very tricky task, he's a character who's annoying but not annoying to the audience. Sam has such a likeable and loveable presence and charm, with some of that coming from Adam's wonderful performance, but I was never at all annoyed with Sam one bit and loved the depth they gave in S1 EP10 and showed his connections with Green, Eggs & Ham which felt powerful and heartwarming. And the Green, Eggs and Ham aren't there just to just be mentioned here and there, and to teach the message when it comes to Guy trying them, but also represents and shows just how important and strong Guy and Sam's friendship truly is. ❤️
There's also other memorable and great characters in this show, we've got characters from the book such as the fox, the mouse, and then you have the goat, in this show they're all changed and are good in their own right. First you have the fox, named Michael, who's this an eccentric guy who's basically obsessed with green eggs and has a huge crush on a green chicken named Sandra, and it's just incredibly hilarious as hell and pathetic in a way but just funny, then you have the mouse who's basically a parody based on "Jean Valjean" from Les Misérables and the running gag with him is that whenever he talks, basically nobody especially Guy and Sam can't understand him and only hear squeaks, he also has this huge song that dives into his backstory and it's supposed to be sad but you can't help but kinda laugh at it. And then you have the goat himself, who's basically this unhinged, nonsense badass bounty hunter sent by Mr. Snerz and will pretty much stop at nothing until he gets and captures the chickenraffe. He speaks with a strong spanish accent and he's kinda like an antagonist but he's extremely memorable and fun, he also this pretty fun and great fight scene with Mr. Jenkins in S1 EP9 up on a snowy mountain and not only does the animation sand out during this scene but it's indefinitely entertainment, it's interesting that a Dr. Seuss adaptation of all things would have things along with other great things in this show.
Let's also talk about the other characters they added in this show, that being "The Bad Guys" and "Michellee and E.B." and the main villain of S1, "Mr. Snerz." These characters weren't in the original book and are entirely new characters but similar to the other characters, they're good in their own right. We've got the agents themselves, McWinkle (played by Jeffrey Wright) and Gluntz, (played by Jillian Bell) we've got Mcwinkle who's the serious guy who's on his last mission and wants to get the job done as soon as possible, while his partner, Gluntz is basically the optimistic rookie and basically the opposite from Mcwinkle. And again, while this show does use tropes that been done to death that get tiring, that's kinda the point and this show does new things and does these tropes well that it doesn't exactly bother me all that much, honestly. Mcwinkle is a good and interesting character, although he might seem cold-hearted and serious he does care about his job and also despite his gruff persona, he does care for animals and others and just wants to keep everyone safe and both he and Gluntz aren't bad people, they're just doing their jobs and are just flawed almost like all the characters. Meanwhile with Gluntz, she's just the absolute and I love the hell out of her, although she can act serious and tough, but she just so fun-loving and chaotic and she's the best girl. Really do love Gluntz though, she's plucky, sweet, and just hilarious and some of her moments of the show are my favorite!
Now we have Mr. Snerz, (played by Eddie Izzard) who's the main villain of the first season and he's basically this famous rich businessman who wants to have the chickenraffe and mount it to his wall, and he doesn't want him dead and want his head on the wall, no he just literally wants him tied to the wall so he can keep the chickenraffe there for the rest of its life so it can never escape, and Snerz did that with all the other creatures he owns. Now, I didn't have many opinions about Mr. Snerz in the beginning and thought he was fine but also thought he was gonna be this typical one dimensional bad guy who wants to steal creatures for money and all that jazz, the same type of villain we've seen before. But, he's not exactly like that, he can be just as funny as the other characters at times and has a interesting solid motive for doing what he's doing and it's shown through his backstory.
And then you finally have Michellee and her one and only daughter, E.B. Now, I'm gonna dive deep into these two the best way that I can especially with Michellee as I feel she's been hated for wayyy too long (especially by some certain shippers and fans in the Geah fanbase) and deserves so much better and I'll show that she's not as bad as some try to claim she is. Now, Michellee is very overprotective and cautious who wants her daughter to be safe and okay, while E.B. is a rebellious kid/teen who wants to explore and have fun and do things that kids around her age do. And again like before, while we've seen this done before, just like the show itself and both Sam and Guy themselves, Michellee and E.B. are great and developed characters and their relationship is very well done, they're also on their way to Meepville only for Michellee to enter a literal bean contest and they end up meeting with our main duo multiple times throughout the first season and we get a nice bond between the four main characters. Both Sam and E.B. form a sibling type dynamic/friendship meanwhile both Guy and Michellee form a relationship of their own, now..I'll definitely say that one of the flaws with this show was the ongoing misunderstanding when it came to Michellee and Guy which became frustrating and repetitive, and it doesn't help that most of Michellee's moments kinda resolve around this and I really do think it could've been handled better.
But the way I've seen some of these fans especially when it comes to GuyXSam shippers, say that Michellee is a awful and terrible person is just frustrating as hell and ridiculous. It reminds me when it came to The Owl House, some tried to claim that Camilla was a terrible mom, which is downright not true and it shows people don't get it. While yes, Michellee was overprotective and her being too clingy only caused her to push her daughter away and feel alone, but the point of the show and the story itself is to NOT judge something or someone before giving it a try, without giving it a chance and these characters DO ACTUALLY GROW AND DEVELOP!! Over the course of the show we do see Michellee slowly learning to get out of her shell and try new things, and allowing her daughter to have fun, we learn that Michellee used to be a painter years ago but when her husband unfortunately died (when E.B was very small) she gave up her dream and moved on and this is possibly why she started to become more protective of her daughter, as she didn't wanna lose her either. Michellee clearly loves and cares about her daughter with all her heart, she's not perfect and she's very flawed (just like all the other characters in the show) and we do see her starting to be more open and by the end of the season, and even through some moments of Season 2, we see she's developed and has grown. Michellee isn't a bad parent, NOT in the slightest, she's a caring and loving parent that only wants to keep her daughter safe but she doesn't realize that doing so only pushed her daughter away and made her feel alone, and I really do by the mother/daughter relationship between her and E.B. and find it believable, like all the other characters, they are very flawed and the point of the show is for them to change, grow and give new things a try! (^-^)
Meanwhile with Guy and Michellee, although the two didn't get along and hit it off at the start due to Michellee being unimpressed with Guy's inventions due to them literally exploding, as the show went on and the more times the two met up one another one they start seeing that they actually have some things in common. Both are quiet, keep themselves, along with being reserved, and despite the annoying and cliche misunderstandings and writing choices when it came to how their dynamic was done in during some points from the first season, the relationship between both Guy and Michellee is honestly rather sweet. It's nothing too deep or groundbreaking, but they definitely are cute, adorable and just wholesome together and you do genuinely believe that the two do love and care about one another, both Michellee and Guy go through the same character arc's only with slight different circumstances, with both characters starting off not trusting the world or anyone around them and wanting to be left alone but both eventually learn the importance of not being afraid to try new things! 🙂🩷
Now, I'll quickly mention the second season real quick and while this season definitely isn't as good and amazing as the first one was, it's still a decent nice watch and there are some elements of the second season that I did enjoy. Firstly the animation is still incredible and well done and there is still clearly effort and love poured into the show even if this season wasn't as good as Season 1. And I did love some of the new characters they added such as Looka and Pam (Sam's Mother) and thought they were interesting and fun enough characters and I did love what they did with Pam. Although, she does follow into a trope we've seen before, what they did with her was still well down and you can clearly tell that she does love and care about Sam and similar to all the other characters, she's flawed just as them and isn't perfect, but she's not a bad parent or a bad person either, and while with Looka, although I don't have a whole lot to say about him exactly, I still really liked him and found his relationship and romance with E.B. very cute and adorable and I really do love their dynamic with one another and ship them, but as for the other characters I do think they could've been handled a little bit better but they're still fine enough characters on their own and I do think the route they went with the story also could've been handled better and could've been a little darker especially as the story they went with for S2, was based and took inspiration from another Dr. Seuss book called, "The Butter Battle Book" which was an anti war book that was written during the Cold war and I think they really could've done something different and make it more darker, but what they went with was fine and okay for what it was, but I think it could've been handled better and now certain characters act and are underutilize was also an issue with the second season, but for what S2 was its definitely a decent effort and they could've done something so much worse, the soul and heart of this soul is still there even if it lacks in some places, it's still a good season and I like it for what it is despite its flaws and issues, I still enjoy it. 💙
Overall, Green Eggs & Ham is an incredible and wonderful show that's very underrated and should be discussed and talked about more, this is a show that truly understood the message of the book and the source material itself. This show took inspiration from a short book and expanded upon the message and fits perfectly to not just the Green, Eggs & Ham but also to the characters as well too as we see them try new things and develop over the course of the show and I think the lesson of the book can apply to all of us as well too honestly. Live life to the absolute fullest as it's filled with many opportunities and about discovering new things but in order to that, you'll have to get out there and do what you love and just give new things a try and don't giving up and keep trying, even when life is tough, difficult or feels rather pointless, keep pushing forward and trying things! You can tell everyone who worked on Geah, truly care about Dr. Seuss and this book and wanted to do the show justice and they 100% succeeded. Even after the show's conclusion, this show is still amazing, delightful and just absolutely wonderful, it's filled with so much love, passion, it's well crafted and it's just a masterpiece honestly and it's most definitely the best Dr. Seuss adaptation!
If none of you haven't seen this show before or even heard of it, I'd highly recommend this show as it's a great and fun watch and it's 100% worth your time. This show is for everyone and even if you aren't that familiar with Dr. Seuss, you'll still very much love and enjoy this show. Please everyone, give this show a try and check it out, it's worth it. 🫶🩷

Hi again!
1. Was there a character that like trailblazed for your faves now? And did they like set the tone in any way? (Ex. 2003 peter pan is a core reason i love gojo i think) i was just thinking about how megumi and armin would interact and what about them each you're most drawn, especially with how differently they present themselves :)
2. you broke (created??) something in me with your writing for Armin, esp since you mentioned how he'd be more *educated* than ppl might expect about going down on his girl lmao. Specifically been thinking about him as a bestie who's just *really knowledgeable* about anatomy and wants to help out a girl who's struggling with some *self-soothing* - like why do videos online make it look kinda intimidating and why isn't it comfortable for her?? Hmm maybe he can help her figure it out :)
HI POOKIE THESE ARE SUCH GOOD QUESTIONS HELLO
to answer your first question; i have honestly been obsessed with armin since i was like 13 but i’ve always had a thing for little nerdy boys hehehe, but for megumi?? idk i liked giyuu from demon slayer when i was younger then i got into jjk and BOOOYYYYY megumi is like, my dream man fr fr
i like em dark and brooding and ONLY INTO ME like i want my man to be BLIND to other women
someone hits on him while i’m there and he’s like ‘huh? what u say? sorry my girl is just so fine’
like i cannot decide which one i want, like i LOVE a dorky nervous boy but i also love a grumpy boy cus im def sunshine fr, WHERE IS MY GRUMPY BOY—??
y’know who i had a crush on tho when i was younger that might explain it?? THAT FUCKING EMO SON OF THE MAYOR FROM HORTON HEARS A WHO LMAOOOOO
and the second one…. teehee girl, i have a VISION when it comes to armin >:3
but you’re right, he would be more educated on anatomy and it started out as like, just general interest when he was younger but i think the older he got, the more he thought about… pleasing women HEHEHHEHE
and he’s your best friend! you can ask armin anything and he’s the type of guy to help you out :)
and he knows you’re sweet and a little naive so he tries to protect you from other boys who just wanna use you and fuck you then leave you out to dry, but not armin, he’s cares about you.
and when he’s showing you what to do, it’s innocent, really it is, you trust him wholeheartedly (maybe a little too much) and when he slips his fingers down your panties and you’re holding onto him for dear life, it’s innocent, right? it’s just what friends do…
teehee

Thoughts on the Sphere: Spoilers for the later books and Spirit Oath ahead
Headcanon at the end.
So in the universe of Eli Monpress, the world described has some interesting key points-and I'm not talking about the magic system, or at least not rn. Here's a list of my points of interest and then I will expand.
There are three main continents mentioned: the main landmass the story is set in which isn't named but is of course known as the Council of Thrones. Then there is the "unknown continent" from which the Empress conquered and came from. And then lastly the "Northern" continent that is entirely ice tundra, where only packs of ghosthounds thrive. {side note, what the hell do natural ghosthounds hunt, they are huge canines that hunt in packs, and they only eat meat. Mammoths? Gin has a greatly described love of pigs, headcanon there are giant woolly boars in the ice cliffs of this world. In fact checking this post, I was reminded there's singular mentions of things called "black armored pigs", a" feathered lizard", and an "enormous red and gold stripped cat" that is some sort of crossbreed. I love it.}
was gonna try and make this list from most normal in fantasy worlds, to most interesting, but I've already run out of normal-THE SKY IS A LIE.
The sun and moon exist and have purpose. First, while I can't find any mention of the moon being noted as in crescent (i could just be blind), at some points it is described as "full", meaning it does have proper cycles. {I found it later, it does at one point get described as half moon, I was fucking right.}
The sun rises and sets, that's obvious, but the moon helps dictate the months. but then again, the sky is a lie, its just the inside of the Veil, the Weaver made it so. We see that not only is the blue sky part of the Veil, but the sun too as it gets torn by demons. (shout out to the poor lady who overheard me describing this phenomenon to my friend as "the sky is tearing itself apart in fear")
Now this is obviously the Weaver remembering the "before times" with the Creator. {don't worry I'll circle back to this.}
Moving on, the Sphere itself doesn't have stars in the sky, it's explained-"before times" and all that, but it obviously has a "sky". it also has a fucking "bottom".
Now you may have picked up on the fact the spirit world is effectively Flat Earth, now, I am no expert on flat earth, and spirit world is of course not earth (see; all of the spirits, the animals, and yk its fiction). But here are some notes I have regarding flat earth and the Sphere.
First, the Sphere is described as having a bottom, via the bedrock, and magma, this is when Benehime's watching over it. Then Slorn at one point is described as looking down-through the ground, through the mountains, through the bottom and he looks at the dome that is similar to that of the sky,(duh its a sphere its in the name. SO unlike flat earth, isn't a fucking coin with a sky dome, its more like a complicated Minecraft skyisland inside of an orb that is of course later revealed to be the last haven of Creation floating in a sea of demons which have devoured the universe.
Breaking up the text to make the horrible explanation, that instead of it being high fantasy skyblock, it's instead like if all of Creation is Earth and the Milky Way and every star in the sky being its own galaxy-was the world of Horton Hears A Who, and then demons ate everything in the world but Horton and the Speck, and that Speck and all those Whos is the Sphere and the spirit world. Then that Speck gets knocked off its flower and finds it's way to a snowflake and that's how you tie in Jim Carrey's Horton the Elephant being the Creator and Jim Carrey's Grinch is Benehime metaphor for the Spirit World being so tiny and depressing in the larger scope of the universe of demons.
now that's all just to over explain the world building that's presented to us in the books, plus a silly ramble that came to me in the first hour mark I spent typing up until this point. but here's the actual post.
The concept of there being a dome to the sky, is a very medieval concept, very fun system, but I bring you the concept of seasons.
Seasons don't exist in the Spirit World. Source, chapter 7 of Spirit War, when the Shaper Mountain tells Miranda he remembered back when there were seasons and stars in the sky. But you can probably sus it out by the then as months pass in the story, yet no descriptions of the change of weather or daylight associated with time passing.
I find this deeply depressing and so so beautiful. The implications.
Humans in this world are younger then the seasons!
That means the sun doesn't change even with the moon changing, the Weaver lets the moon wax and wane from memory or on vague description, but the sun doesn't change. There's no solstice, imagine solar eclipses happening because the moon is preprogrammed but the sun rises and sets with absolutely no inconsistency.
With no seasons, there is no Harvest. Yeah there's farmers and crops, but they don't have a deep freeze of any kind to prepare for. So no reason for fall festivities. No winter solstice, no darkest day of the year, no winter festivities.
With this world being kept in memory of a normal creation with planets, the Northern continent is tied to a pole that doesn't exist. There is no reason for it to be so cold, other then the frozen spirits that live there need to be cold. Same with every other climate. The weather is decided by the Wind Courts and only them, because they need to function.
SO. There are people, in this world, who haven't traveled. And they have never known the climates then the borders they live in. And then there are our main four characters, who are all very well traveled.
Imagine their first trip to the Sleeping Mountains, their first time seeing snow. Because it doesn't fall anywhere else in their entire world.
My personal headcanon involves Josef, because while he is obviously well traveled by the storyline, I like to believe the first time he saw snow was that first trip to the mountains. Eli had been there before, he already know what snow was like, and by then he has his lava spirit. Josef is from the tropics, and Eli is a teasing jerk (little shit). And what adds onto this idea is that him and Eli had made camp in the mountains (perhaps not the Shaper Mountain but its neighbor hooding slopes), and Josef had made his way to Nico when she crashed.
I'd like to emphasis that moments (hours maybe?) the mountains had been screaming, the entire League of Storms and the Lord of Storms was in battle with the Daughter of the Dead Mountain. The noise, the freezing rain, the panic. It goes quiet when Nico is defeated and laying on the mountain. And then Josef shows up, and then brings her back to camp, Eli nowhere to be seen.
You can infer from this that Eli heard the demon panic, or at least knew the mountains were shaking, there was a hell of a thunder storm (Eli has also met the Lord of Storms many times, he could probably recognize that spirit just a Nara could being the Favorite and all), and then in the echo of the worst of it, something crashes loud enough for them to discern where it was, and Eli was like FUCK NO, if you want to go out there and find out what that is, it's your funeral, you'll be lucky if i go searching for your frozen corpse in the morning. And he stayed at camp with his nice warm dry spirit.
And then an hour later Josef came back with a bleeding naked lady. That was somehow out there, and related to the huge fucking crash. And Nico's demon had abandoned her completely so it could hide, so say they found out she was a demonseed a little bit after she recovered from her wounds, which she also has no memory of. So Josef went out into the snow and came back with just a random girl with brutal injuries and no memory, probably freezing, and Eli canonically didn't press for information or question it. And then the rest is history.
Now again, we're imagining this happens in the same trip in which Josef experiences snow for the first time, and Eli has been giving him shit for it constantly.
Cut to Eli using Karon to warm up a strange girl he has no explanation for meeting, and he has to just be nice to her and give her all the attention he can, cus the only other option is look at Josef and he can't. How is he ever going to recover from this night. Josef is sitting there, concerned but also glaring I told you there was something out there, you said calm your tits Josef it's just the snow you don't understand you'll freeze-and I told you so every time Eli catches his eye.
thoughts?
#the legend of eli monpress#josef liechten#eli monpress#nico#headcanons#worldbuilding#the sphere is literally flat suck on that/j#I got distracted twice within this post sorry not sorry#Nico's joining of the companions is a special treat I give myself often#I think about their history often and I might write a fanfic eventually like a low stakes one shot but I love them so much#also Eli didn't use portals when he started as a thief so he walked to Guiseppe's cabin in the mountains#and I like to believe his lack of warm clothes was due to inexperience with the cold and snow#so really he shouldn't tease Josef#HAPPY 2024 WINTER SOLSTICE YOU GUYS!!#RIP the spirit world they can't celebrate

“Ballad Of Hank Williams“
If you knew me in high school, you probably heard this song dozens of times. Its the closer on Bocephus’ 1981 album, The Pressure Is On. The album was a Number 6 country hit and produced two songs that would become Hank Williams Jr. staples: “All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settled Down)” and “A Country Boy Can Survive”. I’d argue it was his last great album, though it’d be a couple more years before he descended fully into self-parody.
The guy singing with him is Don Helms, who played steel guitar for Hank’s Drifting Cowboys. Apart from ol’ Hank’s lonesome voice, Don’s crying steel guitar is probably the most striking thing about the man’s sound, and he played on 10 of Hank’s 11 Number One hits.
He also put up with Hank’s shit for quite a while, and ol’ Hank was a world-class causer of shit back in the day. The mention of working for Hank Jr. refers to his time with the Cheatin’ Hearts, Rockin’ Randall’s early backing band. One can’t help but hear a wee bit of venom in Don’s lyrics. The melody is from the famous Jimmie Driftwood song “The Battle of New Orleans,” made a hit by Johnny Horton and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
Dig it.

Hi! An idea of something you could write, if you wanted to... George Luz x Reader, they’re really close friends who both want more and the rest of Easy Co notice this. Maybe it can include something to do with reader really liking his Rhode Island accent? It’s okay of course if you don’t want to write it though! Thank you :)
I Can't Stop Feelin', I Want Her Love
Or, 5 times that George wonders what exists between the two of you, plus the one time he knows for sure
George Luz x reader
A/N: Hi there, Anon! You sent this way back in January, but I've finally finished it 🤗 Thank you for your patience, and for the request - I hope you like it! Fic title comes from "She Wants Me (To Be Loved)" by The Happy Fits (This is written for the fictional depictions from the show - no disrespect to the real life veterans!) Warnings: smoking, mentions of war
One
The first time Luz sees you, it’s just a flash. Easy Company is running Currahee – again – and he’s got his eyes fixed firmly on the trail below him, careful not to let some sneaky tree root or loose rock send him sprawling onto the hard ground. He only looks up when the people in front of him migrate towards the right side of the trail as the heavy sound of footsteps approaches.
Easy Company can’t be blamed if they slow down a bit at the sight of the approaching group. In the few days since they arrived at Camp Toccoa, hardly anyone has seen the Parachute Regiment’s Women’s Division. Yet here they come, right down the mountain, with few of them bothering to send even so much as a passing glance at the men.
And there you come, your eyes fixed straight ahead. Your face set in a serious expression, George can’t help but picture you as the goddess of war. The thought has no sooner crossed his mind than you glance over at him – and smile.
His breath hitches in his throat. He returns the gesture, and then, in a split second, you’re gone as you and the rest of the Women’s Division pass. The only thing that stops George from turning to watch you go is that Captain Sobel is right behind him.
Out of sight does not equal out of mind. Your smile burns bright in his mind for the rest of the run. With it comes a question (Who was that?) and a determined thought (I’ve got to find out).
Two
And find out he does.
Several of the Easy Company men jokingly say that the day that the Women’s Division was absorbed by their company was the best day of their lives. When George says it, though, he’s being completely serious. Because that’s what brings you together.
“How do you expect to slay the Huns with dusty jump wings?” George asks in an imitation of Captain Sobel’s voice. Toye smiles, but George is more interested in the way that you press your lips together, trying to suppress a laugh. The effort doesn’t stop the smile that reaches your eyes, though.
“Oh, go on (Y/N),” he teases. “It’s okay to laugh. It’s not like he’s here.” And, more importantly, he wants to hear the laugh that he’s come to know so well since meeting you.
You shake your head, still smiling. “Luz, if I laugh it’ll only encourage you.”
“As if he needs it,” Toye mutters into his drink.
George takes a swipe at his friend’s arm. No malice in it, yet Luz tries for a serious expression. “Come on, Joe, you know you like my impressions.”
“I think everyone does.” You glance around the room full of paratroopers. “Or they seem to, anyway. The Captain Horton impression definitely won you some fans.”
Everyone. Does that include you? George is crafting together a sly sentence to ask when he notices Toye giving him an expectant look. He glances between Luz, who’s looking at you, and you, still gazing out at the room full of your fellow paratroopers.
What? George tries to ask with raised brows.
Toye only shrugs, expression inscrutable as always.
He doesn’t ask either of his questions. Knocking back his drink, he smiles and moves on.
Three
Meeting up with the others in the company after the jump is a weight off of George’s shoulders, but he would be lying if he said that he wasn’t the most relieved to see you.
You smack him on the shoulder as you approach, smile bright when he turns to face you. “Well, well, well. Fancy seeing you here.”
George cocks an eyebrow. “Sorry, do I know you?”
“Hmmm, maybe. You look like someone I once knew, oh, about a lifetime ago, back in the States.”
“I was thinking the same thing.” He leans back against the concrete steps that other Easy men and women are lounging on. Opening his pack of cigarettes, he offers you one before placing his own between his lips and lighting it. “So, you come here often?”
Blowing smoke from the side of your mouth, you smile in a way that reminds him of a movie star.
This is a joke, George tells himself. A running gag. If only he could tell his heart that. Because you’ve got a mysterious look on your face that’s got him wondering what you’re going to say next –
“Je-sus Christ!” Guarnere sighs. Though he sounds frustrated, he laughs as he elbows Toye beside him. “Can these two kiss already?!”
Several paratroopers laugh. A few – mostly your fellow women – groan, telling him to mind his own business.
“What?” Bill, for his part, does seem genuinely confused as to where he’s gone wrong. “They’d be cute together.”
No duh, George thinks. He glances at you.
You’ve dropped the bit, though. Not looking at George any longer, you grind out your cigarette and strike up a conversation with the girl beside you instead.
The moment is gone.
Four
Jokes run dry in Bastogne. Luckily, smiles do not.
Despite it all, you somehow always seem to have a smile to pass in George’s direction. In those moments, it doesn’t matter if the frozen world of foxholes and artillery fire lacks blankets, food, and heating, because George is convinced that your grin could singlehandedly melt all the snow away and usher spring into the forest.
Today’s smile, though, doesn’t quite make it to your eyes.
You catch Luz’s eye in the miserable excuse for a chow line. He would usually smile back. He attempts to, at least. The corners of his mouth are heavy as he tries to lift them. The most he manages can only honestly be described as something of a grimace.
No one else is doing much smiling either, he notices. Ever since the night before, when Muck and Penkala . . .
That night, half asleep, when he feels someone drop down into the foxhole beside him, George sighs without opening his eyes.
“Lip, I said that I was okay to be left alone.”
“Well, Lip might let you get away with that weak excuse, but I won’t.”
George’s eyes snap open. The two of you stare at each other through the darkness that is settling over the forest.
“(Y/N)! I thought you were – “
“Sergeant Lipton? Yeah, I gathered as much.”
“What are you doing here?”
Upon entering Bastogne, it was made blatantly clear that fraternization would not be tolerated. More precisely, the explicit order was that male and female paratroopers were not meant to be sharing foxholes. For the most part, everyone has followed that order, or been willing to look the other way for those who haven’t followed this new rule. Yet here you are.
You shrug, like it’s nothing. “Didn’t think you should be out here alone. We don’t have to talk about it, or anything,” you’re quick to add. “I just – I wanted you to know that I’m here.”
Here carries more weight than your physical presence in this moment.
For the second time, George tries for a smile. “Thank you, (Y/N).”
You manage your own tightlipped smile. “Of course, Luz. You would do the same for me.”
He would. He’s glad you know that.
Five
Whatever higher power exists, They must be trying to make up for everything that happened in Bastogne. Having you placed on supply duty with George is definitely a start.
Things are different, for everyone, since coming out of the Ardennes. Whatever relationship exists between you and George – platonic or otherwise – feels altered, too. You’re seldom apart from each other. Jokes fly back and forth between you as you sort rations. Other paratroopers might exchange glances whenever they’re around the two of you, but no one makes any more comments about whatever it might be that the two of you have.
“Hey.”
Alone with you, George looks up from his clipboard, pen hovering over his list of provisions. You swing your dominant hand down and back, ready to toss something in an underhanded throw. George sets his clipboard aside just in time to catch whatever zips through the air.
A pristine Hershey bar. He gazes down at the wrapper in wonder.
“I thought that we were out of these?”
You shrug. “Don’t tell Liebgott.” Then, you go back to your sorting as if nothing has happened.
A girl who’s willing to break the fraternization rules of Bastogne, and who’s willing to sneak George one of the most coveted items from the rations? All for him?
If you both make it through the rest of this war, George decides, he’ll have to . . . To what, exactly?
Well, something. Once, way back in Toccoa, you said you liked the sound of his accent. Maybe he can convince you to move to Rhode Island with him and hear it all the time.
Wishful thinking. But later, when he catches you glancing over at him while he sorts through a new box of supplies, he amends that thought. Maybe not.
+ One
Winning a baseball game has never felt so good.
The other team doesn’t even really lose, as far as Easy Company is concerned. The war is over. They’re all going home. Everyone is a winner.
The obligatory shaking of hands and extolling of other players’ efforts breaks into all-out celebration. Wide smiles brighter than the afternoon sunshine warm the playing field. Men and women alike hug and talk a million miles an hour, planning for what comes next, planning for the rest of their lives – which suddenly span wide ahead of them, long, safe, and full of promise.
George’s smile only grows, if that’s even possible, when he sees you.
“Good game, (Y/L/N).” He offers you his hand to shake, trying to act goofily formal, just because he knows that it’s a voice that is sure to elicit a smile and a laugh from you; it always has before.
You smile, as expected, but take a firm grip on George’s hand, pulling him in for a tight hug instead.
The radioman’s brain takes a second to catch up to what’s happening. He’s only just started to melt into your embrace, to enjoy it, to realize that this is the first time you’ve ever done this, when you pull away all too soon.
It’s not the end, though. A gentle hand caresses the back of George’s neck. Your eyes close and you lean forward. Automatically, George does the same. Your lips collide. Thank God your eyes are closed, or you would see how pink his cheeks have turned.
“Finally!” Someone nearby cheers. Is it this that they’re talking about? Or the end of this long war?
When you pull back, you’re smiling wider than George has ever seen.
“I’ve always wanted to do that,” you admit breathlessly.
His heart trips over itself in his chest. Everything he considered back in Haguenau comes rushing back to him.
“Say, (Y/N),” George begins before he can stop himself. “Can I ask you a question?”

Dream Animated Movie Musical Tournament Round 3 Match 4
Sweeney Todd
Why this deserves to be an animated movie musical: no matter your feelings on Johnny Depp otherwise a lot of people can agree the movie version we got with him and Helena Bonham Carter left a lot to be desired so this could wash that taste out of people's mouths (and the recent revival brought this show back to the popular consciousness)
Notes/dream-casting: this would be another thing that'd be a cool Laika project in my mind and as for the casting once my brain remembered that just because the characters are British doesn't mean the actors have to be (idk many British actors outside of musical theater or Doctor Who) some of the names that floated to mind as potential dream-voice-casts for certain roles are Gaten Matarazzo reprising his role, Dove Cameron as Johanna and maybe Rachel Bloom as Mrs. Lovett (if she wouldn't be too young and a Jew playing that part wouldn't get problematic-connotationed given both blood libel stuff and how Mrs. Lovett dies (as Mrs. Lovett wouldn't have to be Jewish just because the actress is) as Mrs. Lovett may be the most demanding Sondheim role but I think she's up to the challenge esp. if she wouldn't have to play it physically). This is just me spitballing, feel free to suggest your own picks if you have better ones (just don't insult mine) or if you have any idea of an actor who'd be good voicing Sweeney Todd himself
Seussical
Why this deserves to be an animated movie musical: because that's the only freaking way it can be a movie musical because didn't the Seuss estate say all future adaptations of his work had to be animated after witnessing the live-action Cat In The Hat. Also there's already been a Horton Hears A Who movie so even if it doesn't maintain actor consistency with that (as this would be different universe of that story) it could at least be made by the same people and maintain visual consistency
Notes/dream-casting: of these, Seussical is actually the one that I have the most complete dream-cast for (but if you think someone else would be better for a given role feel free to offer a suggestion as long as you don't slight my pick in doing so); Neil Patrick Harris as The Cat In The Hat (the other trickster figure I mentioned that made me afraid to dream-cast him as Willy Wonka too), Jonathan Groff as Horton, Kate Micucci as Gertrude, Alex Newell as the Sour Kangaroo and Camila Cabello as Mayzie. If you're wondering about JoJo that'd probably be an unknown-kid-actor...but one with "low-support autism"/what some people still call Aspergers as darned if JoJo isn't really freakishly coded that way

Martell Week: Character of the Day: Elia Martell
Tag list: @adriennegabriella @morby @wingsoftheangels @candycanes19 @tashastrange89 @elvinaa
(A/N: Going an AU route with this one. As someone who like Elia has, chronic illness; I wanted to write something on this. I’m not planning on having this as a self-insert but I’m basing certain things off my issues. Character won’t be named or described.)
TW: Medical talk, wanting to give up (not the hard S, you two are just tired.), mention of cheating and death.
Song inspired: “Aerith’s Theme” from Final Fantasy VII
Character of the Day: Elia Martell
__
“Elia, how are you?” I asked.
It was shockingly a good energy day for us both. We found ourselves at a Tim Hortons having something to drink. The smell of the mocha ice capp filled my noise, made sure to have extra chocolate in it.
“Hey you, I’m okay today. How about yourself?” She asked in returned.
The weather was warm, so at least our anemia won’t start making it cold for us. Elia took a sip of her iced tea and I could see she was trying to smile through a storm in her body. Both of us born premature, but our conditions differ a lot.
“To be honest, I’m just tired of it all. I don’t want to die, but I just want to sleep till they make a cure for everything. I can’t regulate my thyroid; I’ve only done it once… so now the Endo, thinks I have not just Hashi’s, not just hypo, but also hyper! Honestly, between the medication, the blood work, the side effects, and everything, I just…”
“I understand, and then when they tell you “it’s going to be okay.” a part of you feels like they’re lying. They don’t understand what people like me and, you go through every second of our lives. Then again, we don’t understand either. So, the point is moot.”
Elia, she must have had a rough morning though with the kids; she didn’t even braid her hair like she normally would.
“How’s Rhaenys and Aegon? I’m guessing their Father is watching them?”
Meaning Rhaegar, I don’t like using his name or talking about him. I mean he cheated on Elia, how does someone forgive that?
“Yes, he is. It’s his day to have the children anyways. So I guess it works out for me.” She semi-chuckled.
“Your heart?” I asked.
Elia’s eyes tried to give some spark of hope; I knew it was bad news.
“They still don’t know what’s going on. They tried an echo-cardiogram but they found nothing. I nearly dropped to the floor twice yesterday.”
Yikes!
They really need to find out what’s causing this and soon. I’m worried she’s going to hit her head and those children won’t have their Mom around. I feel her take my hand in hers, I could see her trying to hold back tears.
She’s scared.
I don’t blame her one bit.
“All I feel that I can do is say that “I’m sorry” but honestly, we both got to be fed up hearing that phrase. I don’t know what I can do for you to be okay as best as you can feel.”
“Just still be my friend. Knowing I’m not alone, helps at times.”
I nodded, if that’s what it takes, I can try. She knows we can’t make promises; some of us just can’t keep them. If we do, nine-times out of ten, we have to cancel last second. For us just to meet together today was a big thing.
We both drink our drinks in silence.
Moments past, the sounds of the shop filled our ears; the smell of the cafe woke people up and the two of us were thinking of what to say next.
Both of us probably already wanting to go back to sleep.
“What was your panel?” She asked.
“My T4 was normal, it’s the TSH was high. About 36.88.”
“How do you feel though?”
“Believe it or not, I’m fine. I feel “normal” I suppose. I’m not tired or losing hair any different or whatever else. I just been having a hard time eating and honestly taking the meds at times.”
“Please tell me you didn’t cause this.”
“Why my thyroid is effed? I can’t tell you anymore, I don’t know. I’m more worried about my mental health half the time.”
Elia squeezed my hand lightly, trying to get me to smile. I can’t smile at this, the fact that my body is ill like this and I’m not sure if I’m at fault or not, really does suck.
“Yours?” I asked.
“It’s a little under but I hope the new dosage helps.” She smiled.
“Yeah, for sure, you need your energy basically watching over the children. At least Oberyn and Doran are helping as well. They’re both good men.”
“I do love my brothers, Oberyn though is my favorite; out of all my family, he supports me the most.”
I felt a pang of envy in my heart, her family loves and cares about her. My Father...not so much at times. It took him years to believe in my depression and anxiety. Elia could tell something was wrong, her facal expression showed it.
Sorrow…
“I’m fine, I’m honestly happy for you. It just sucks that not everyone’s accepting like Oberyn and Doran are.”
“I agree with you; just because your Father doesn’t see your illnesses doesn’t mean it’s not there. It’s real just like us, it exists like us, but it haunts us.”
We both pause, feeling like time stopped. We both finished our drinks and tossed them into the trash, before sitting back down.
“Will you be alright?” Her voice cut gently.
“I will be, I’m just used to it by now. I’ve had certain issues from a young age and the thyroid didn’t get put on paper till a few weeks before my fifteenth birthday. Picture this, you get home from a wonderful vacation with your Father; you go into the doctors and they tell you, you have this issue and basically you’re stuck on meds forever, it messes with everything in your system. Seriously, this sucks, but I’m just so used to it by now; what people say to me doesn’t even phase me anymore.”
Elia didn’t say anything. I could tell she was taking in what I had said.
“But you’re here, you’re dealing with it.”
“So are you.”
She’s right…
We are.
“Your hopes and dreams matter, of course I could go into the whole “Life gets better” and such, but we don’t always want to hear it. That’s fine...do you remember how I asked if we could both do this thing? That list about reasons to keep going.”
“Yeah, I wrote mine on my phone.”
I take my phone out and go to note pad. I noticed she took out her notebook and sat it in front of her. She asked me to list at least three things before we met next, I guess we were both able to do it.
“Okay we’ll trade off. I’ll go first. First reason to keep going is to love my children and be a good Mother.”
“That’s a real sweet one. Okay first reason to keep going, to find a partner.”
I blushed, but I’m lonely. It didn’t matter if it was platonic or romantic at this part; but I knew that would be years later. I have to work on myself first.
“Second reason is to support my brothers when they’re dealing with something.”
“Elia, c’mon, you could have had the first one just be “family” and called it a day!”
The two of us laughed; she knew I had a point, but we both did need the laugh. I’m thankful for her friendship. Elia was always that person who would pour her heart and soul into life; she truly loved her family.
Damn you, Rhaegar, you fuck up.
“Reason two, to kick the ever living crap out of Rhaegar. Listen, if he wasn’t happy, he should have just told you and do something about it. That’s not right what he pulled; did he even ask for an open marriage or whatever before you found out?”
There’s nothing wrong with polyamory, open marriages, ect, but for the love of the gods!
“No, he didn’t. To say the least Oberyn and Doran want to throw hands,” Elia laughed. “Okay, seriously, last reason. To actually have a good life.”
Honestly, that was a reasonable thing. It would be hard but you know, sometimes we don’t know what life has planned for us. I just hope she doesn’t see her last sunrise before achieving this. With being chronically ill, it’s like our bodies are time bombs, depending on what’s going on with the person. With my thyroid issue, my thyroid is slowly dying because the white blood cells are attacking it.
“Yours?”
Oh right…
“To see my favorite band in concert for the third time.”
I could see her smile at that; to her it was a good one. The rest of the time, we talked; we talked about old memories, we cried, laugh and just tried to live for the moment. But little did I know was…
This would be the last time I’d see Elia.

Any Poehler reprises her role as the voice of Joy in Inside Out 2 (2024). Amy was born in Newton, Massachusetts, and has 95 acting credits from various voices in a 1996 tv movie, to Inside Out 2. Her entries among my best 1001 are Mean Girls, and voices in the English translation of The Secret World of Arietty and Inside Out. This is Amy's second honorable mention, after a voice in Horton Hears a Who.
Her other notable credits include Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Wet Hot American Summer, five episodes of Arrested Development, the voice of Snow White in Shrek The Third, 146 episodes of Saturday Night Live, often as co-anchor of Weekend Update with Tina Fey, and 124 episodes of Parks and Recreation.
