Books that I’ve read recently and would recommend. 🖤 Part 2
A Dowry of Blood by S. T. Gibson. A reimagining of Dracula’s brides, written in letters to Dracula from his first wife, Constanta. I love anything vampire-related and can’t even describe how much I loved this book.
A God in the Shed by J. -F. Dubeau. A fantastic horror novel set in a messed up little town. A murder investigation, a serial killer, a god trapped in a shed (literally), the occult, ancient evils, blood and gore, and lots of twists and turns.
The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang. A historical/grimdark fantasy novel heavily inspired by the Second Sino-Japanese war. Very violent and graphic, but an amazing read.
My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix. A fun 80s demon possession story set during the satanic panic. A teen girl drops acid, gets lost in the woods, and accidentally gets possessed by a demon — and it’s up to her friend to save her. Gorey and campy.
Maggie’s Grave by David Sodergren. A pregnant woman, falsely accused of being a witch and brutally murdered, takes revenge on a Scottish town centuries later. Fun, fast-paced folk horror meets splatterpunk with an endless amount of gore.
The Island by Adrian McKinty. A tense, fast-paced thriller set in in an island off of the coast of Australia. This book genuinely stressed me out and made me want to bite my nails, but I couldn’t put it down. A bit of Wolf Creek vibes.
Delicious Monsters by Liselle Sambury. A ghost story and psychological horror with dual timelines. Family drama, a haunted house, toxic parents, etc.
Never Lie by Freida McFadden. A psychological thriller with a great twist. When their realtor doesn’t show up, newlyweds take shelter from a blizzard in a manor that belongs to a missing psychiatrist.
Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim. This book and the world within it makes my heart flutter. A dreamy, whimsical fairy tale blended with East Asian folklore.
The Overnight Guest by Heather Gudenkauf. An atmospheric mystery/thriller. A writer travels to an isolated farmhouse where two unsolved murders and the disappearance of a girl took place decades earlier, and plans to finish her book while snowed in. Things go down hill after she finds a young child outside and decides to bring him in from the cold.
Clytemnestra by Costanza Casati. A retelling of Greek mythology, and such a beautiful and heartbreaking book.
A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon. A a high fantasy novel and standalone prequel to The Priory of the Orange Tree. Amazing world building, amazing writing, amazing characters, and dragons.
Ring by Koji Suzuki. I’ve always loved the films, both Ringu and The Ring, but I’ve never read the book until now and I highly recommend it if you haven’t either.

About Myself
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has no clue how to work this site give me a break
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hello,
My name is Mackenzie/Samantha (she/her),
Edit: I finally found a name I like and still go by Mackenzie, but Samantha is a more personal name to me so if we just met go with Mackenzie or Kenzie please.
I am Trans [MTF] and 24 years old.
This is my attempt at a bio post cause honestly I suck at starting conversations and connecting with people but like talking to them. I am often skittish in new situations that I know nothing about, I do try to learn everything I can though and sometimes I am very forgetful all the time. :3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things that interest me and I like talking about are:
Games (In general, developing games, game theory and cool mechanics)
Pets (grew up with cats and a dog, love them to death)
Horror (Grappling with what makes us human or how i can define myself within that subset if i even fit is always a nice mental workout)
Cooking! (I enjoy trying new recipes and new foods, as it also helps relieve stress and give me the short feeling of joy for creating something)
Coding (spent 6 fuckin years of my life with this bs may as well use it)
Computers in general (I built my own, her name is Samantha, I am not quite sold on linux yet but windows 11 fucking sucks ass and shouldn't exist)
Music (I enjoy singing [to myself that is], Maidcore, Whatever tf the cod zombies easter egg music has going on and just cool and moving pieces that invoke a specific feeling in me.)
Cyberpunk esc things (Mechs, futuristic guns, AI* [not the current slop that exists now], cybernetics and body modifications [MGSV is a huge influence here ironically]
Plushies (there are so many send help or more)
Any specific Hyperfixation i have at the moment {usually something grabs my interest and I will be sucked into it for a week or so}
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bot accounts, Chasers DNI
Minors, DNI as well, This is a NSFW ish account and I try to go by the ideology of if i cant share a drink with you, I shouldn't be interacting with you in a non-professional manner.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Games that i play/played include:
Minecraft, Cyberpunk 2077, MGSV, Warframe, Destiny 2, Phasmophobia, ROR2, PD3/PD2, Terraria, Division 2, BTD6, Borderlands 2 and 3, XCOM 2, Titanfall 2, Black ops 1, Black ops 3, Black ops: Cold war zombies, Barotrauma, Barony, Elden ring, Dark souls 3, Crypt of the necrodancer, every main series Pokemon game starting from gen 3, Darkest dungeon, Death Stranding, Deep rock Galactic, Deus ex (HR & MD ) Tales of Berseria, Doom eternal and 2016, Skyrim, Fallout 4, The forest, FTL, Guilty Gear: strive.
(this list is like half of the games i can remember, not ordered in how much i liked them or remember them, but mostly the ones i've played more than 50 hours in)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Feel free to dm me to talk, or ask me something you'd like to know about me!
It may take a bit to respond but I do lurk in my free free time.

March 2024 Reading Wrap Up
I got bronchitis and my period at the same time in March, and then spilled tea on my computer, so March was a very stressful time for me. Regardless, I managed to read 10 books! And honestly, overall, this is one of the better months - the lowest I've ranked a book is 6/10, which is damn good considering the absolute bullshit I usually read.
Religious Text
None applicable.
1/10 - Why Did They Publish This?
None applicable.
2/10 - Trash
None applicable.
3/10 - Meh
None applicable.
4 to 6/10 - Mid-Tier
Tomb Sweeping | Alexandra Chang
I read this book while sick. And boy howdy, did that make it a weird experience. I get what it was going for, but it really wasn't my vibe. It just felt like everything was...unfinished. Which was the point, I suppose, but it was still annoying.
7 to 8/10 - Good With Caveats
What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality | Daniel A Helminiak
This is a very short book compared to my usual reads, topping at 152 pages. And I appreciate a book that gets straight to the point and analyzes the historical context around various works, particularly religious works. Good job. My only complaint is some editing issues.
Born to Love, Cursed to Feel | Samantha King
This was a poetry collection and was the only other book I read while sick, and boy howdy did I have a time of it. I spent most of the reading just...putting post-it notes in and nodding along to the lines. It was a surprisingly good book, considering I found it in the back alley version of a book store.
Southern Cunning: Folkloric Witchcraft in the American South | Aaron Oberon
Look. This is not a 101 book. It's not a 102 book. It's not even a 201 book. It simply is. And as much as I enjoyed it and enjoyed reading it, the fact that I spent most of my reading time fixing the editing means that I cannot, in good faith, put this any higher than an 8 out of 10. Dear Aaron Oberon, if you ever read this, PLEASE give me access to the original file so I can fix your punctuation and spelling mistakes. Sincerely, a fellow Southerner.
9/10 - Very Very Good
Snow White with the Red Hair, volumes 21-23 | Sorata Akiduki
I am still so fucking feral over this series. I love them so fucking much. I want them all to be happy but I also like seeing their shenanigans. Unfortunately, though we're at 26 published volumes, we've reached the end of the ones in Missouri Evergreen that I may access. I'll either have to wait and hope that someone gets them, or I'll have to bite the bullet and buy them myself.
Not Pounded By Anything: Six Platonic Tales Of Non-Sexual Encounters | Chuck Tingle
This is my first expedition into the erotic Tingleverse after reading some pieces of the horror Tingleverse in Straight and Camp Damascus. And I really, really like this book. It's 77 pages and is such an easy read. Godspeed, you glorious bastard.
10/10 - Unironically Recommend To Everyone
Well, everyone who's into the genre these fall under, at least.
Writing Fiction: A Guide to Narrative Craft, tenth edition | Janet Burroway
I found this in the free section of a bookstore in the middle of nowhere, and let me tell you, it is now marked up one side and down the other with highlighter, because I needed it. There are so many good parts of this book that it's genuinely one I would recommend to people who are trying to figure out why their writing feels flat.
Sacred Gender: Create Trans and Nonbinary Spiritual Connections | Ariana Serpentine
First, I want to congratulate the author on what is possibly the coolest name ever.
Second, if you're an occultist, polytheist, witch, magic practitioner, or in any other way affiliated with things beyond or within mortal ken...get this book. It's making me rethink a lot of my own experiences with my craft and my religion, but in a good way.

TERRIFIER 3 | Teaser & Poster
Cineverse, in partnership with Bloody Disgusting, unveiled today the online teaser for Terrifier 3.
This development follows the recent announcement that Terrifier 3 will hit theaters nationwide on October 25, 2024.
During the re-release of Terrifier 2 in theaters on November 1, which came in at number 5 in gross box office, fans had the opportunity to catch the Terrifier 3 teaser. The teaser also revealed an intriguing twist—the upcoming installment will be Christmas-themed, adding an extra layer of anticipation for horror enthusiasts. In the third installment of Damien Leone’s breakout horror film, Art the Clown is set to unleash chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.
The release date of Terrifier 3 is 2 years after its predecessor, Terrifier 2, which was released theatrically on October 6, 2022. The ultra-gory, 138-minute unrated film ravaged theaters during its highly publicized theatrical run, pulling in over $11 Million in domestic box office. During that time, Terrifier 2 found its way to mainstream press with Variety detailing how Terrifier 2 “became this year’s unlikeliest box office success” and how the film “is inspiring horror fiends and skeptics to go to their local cinemas in droves to assess the hype for themselves.” Terrifier 2 became CERTIFIED FRESH by Rotten Tomatoes and the movie even found its way onto Stephen King’s radar with the “IT” author Tweeting that Terrifier 2 is "grossin' you out old-school." The New York Times called Terrifier 2 “the little horror movie that could” while calling it “the most talked about horror movie this Halloween.”
Terrifier 2 marked the next horrifying chapter in the Art the Clown saga; in which the demonic killer, portrayed by David Howard Thornton, returns with a vengeance. Lauren LaVera became a breakout star and fans across the world embraced her as the next Final Girl. Terrifier veteran Samantha Scaffidi reprised her role as Victoria Heyes, and horror icon Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) and professional wrestler Chris Jericho (AEW) made unforgettable cameos that had audiences talking.
Writer/Director Leone said, “Terrifier 2's remarkable success was driven not only by the insatiable appetite for new and thrilling horror icons like Art the Clown but also by its unparalleled theatrical release and marketing, along with its unyielding spirit. In a cinematic landscape where risk-taking is scarce, I will continue to push boundaries in Terrifier 3,and I can’t wait for you to see what’s in store for Art the Clown.”
Set one year after its predecessor, Terrifier 2 continued the gruesome story of Art the Clown and his insatiable thirst for murder. When a sinister force resurrects Art, he is once again upon the unsuspecting residents of Miles County. Back for another Halloween, Art sets his sights on a teenage girl and her little brother, portrayed by LaVera and Elliott Fullam, respectively, delivering a chilling and relentless tale of horror.
Terrifier 2 is developed by Dark Age Cinema and Fuzz on the Lens Productions and features an original score by Paul Wiley. The film is produced by Phil Falcone, Steven Della Salla, Jason Leavy, and Michael Leavy. The list of executive producers includes Cairo Ben Amen II, Joshua Anderson, Steven Caruso, Lisa Falcone, Hank Greenberg, Marcus McGill, Larry Bilello, Steven Barton, and Thomas Smith.

COTL AU(A Tale of Two Lambs/MLP Base Edit)
Hello Cultists! Here's a Small but Pretty Big Reveal Post i made just now to continue my Cult of The Lamb AU(as MLPBaseEdits) with This one being a pretty important fanart/story piece with Two Characters/Lamb OCs i made next to Lamberina & my Narilamb children whom are Lambert & Lamberina's Parents..
So To finally show on this blog for the 2nd time round(first time being my old FT of The Narilamb Family Tree) btw.
Anyways here is the finished fanart below with a whole storyline bio below it to explain how they met, got married and had their 2 baby calfs and sadly both died(being assinated by the bishops genocide of the lambs kind) and with Lambert & his Big Sis Lamberina(new name being Angelique Woolsteed legally changed in the Cult of Misfits(Angel's own cult with her BF being one of the Ex Witnesses of Anura being Zepar)

Here it is in all of it's MS Paint Glory! and yes i did the Background of The Forest of Old Faith myself on Paint(Feel free to like on how i did, feel i did a good job as a bg maker which i'm not used to but am getting the hang of it and liking it better) Anyways here is the full story bio below for Joseph(The Purple Male Lamb) and MaryAnn(The Grey Female Lamb whom has Freckles like Lambert & Dirty Blond Hair which Lamberina/Angelique currently has as her Dyed Mane)
"Once upon a Time in lands of the old faith there lived two lamb lovers named Joesph & MaryAnn Steelwool whom were already happily married as a young couple with them being possibly the last lambs alive during the lamb genocide ordered by the bishops.
Joseph and Mary both were horrified at the sight of their home of DarkWood(Originally Lambert's Birthplace) being destroyed in ruins with many huts burned by torches to the many families of lambs being killed and massacred in horrendous & tragic ways with Joseph and his wife escaping tremendously until.. the most hated bishop being Shamura asking his minions to kill the two lambs with mary leaving their twin babies Lambert & Angelique as orphans left on Ratau's doorstep as their new guardian with their parents being killed and taken into silk cradle by shamura & his sibs to be kept as prizes to their completed massacre.
so now 1000 yrs later in present day Lambert & his Older Sister both have thrived in their own cults with Lambert still missing their deceased parents and honoring them in memory with Angelique doing the same.
and that's the whole story of their Parents and their tragic deaths.. and i bet your noticing a pattern with Shamura here and his "Wrath Tendencies of Killing Species with Both Lambert's own Kind and his Currently Beloved Wife Samantha Bloodsucker's own kind being extinct aswell. so the next chapter for them both Avenging their Species by Reproducing New Life for them both with Samantha agreeing to help her Husband's sadness and grief while Lady D's Species of Axolotls and M3gan's Species of Nightwolves are still existing(but their own Biological Families have been deceased for years)
and that's all i'll post for now with Lambert's Parents which this Fanart is the Last Time i'll draw them and will continue to draw the Backstories of The 6 Spouses(Sammi, Lady D, M3gan, Lucos, Ruri, Toots & Giselle) aka The Spouse Squad very soon with Samantha's being a Whole Webcomic for her and her rival Shamura(being a Betrayed Father Figure type storyline) to the rest being different genres with different topics on how and why they ended up despising the 4 bishops in order : for Sammi (it's a Cozy but Dark Domestic Abuse Storyline) for Lady Dimmi(it's a Noir but Mysterious Love Story) for M3gan(it's a Thriller/Horror Sstoryline) for Lucos(It's a Humorous but Unlikeable Storyline) for Ruri(It's a Fantasy Storyline) for Toots(it's a Musical Storyline) and finally for Giselle(It's a Fairytale Self Discovery Storyline) so as you see all 6 spouses related to marrying Lambert(minus Narinder, The Bishops since it's explainable already in-game aka Our Choices) will include their own Genre like a Movie, Book, Series or even Video Game as their Backstory(ies)
Just wanted to update my blog since on DA i'm taking a break for now until maybe Nov-Dec since i won't be so busy during the holiday seasons or maybe i will who knows.. also about The Spouse Squad Webcomics and when they'll be coming well it'll be pretty soon since Samantha's is First!(hence her being the oldest spouse in game for me!) and since i found a bunch of nice bases to use which the very first part will be released on Oct 4th to be exact!
Hope you all liked this post, have a good weekend bye!

To everyone else: Favorite horror movies?
Tod: I have a lot of favorites but we'll settle on I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Terry: I don't really have a favorite but I really like Scream.
Valerie: Horror isn't my thing.
Billy: Sleepaway Camp. I don't know why, I guess its because it was my first horror movie.
Carter: Nightmare on Elm Street 2. I just find it the most entertaining.
Evan: Any of the Friday The 13th movies.
Tim: IT. I like the 1990 version (even though it's technically a mini series but whatever) and the 2017 versions.
Nora: Carrie. I know its basic but its a classic!
Kat: That movie where the dude kills the people on Valentines Day.
Rory: My Bloody Valentine?
Kat: Nobody asked you! But yes, My Bloody Valentine is my favorite.
Rory: Saw. Sure it makes me feel sick at some points but I still like it.
Kat: Your fucking disgusting.
Eugene: Child's Play. Specifically the first 3 and the last 2. Bride and Seed were just bad. (He secretly likes Bride).
Clear: The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity. Those found footage movies are just more interesting to me.
Burke: Freddy vs Jason. I like it but i'm not a huge horror person. I'm more into comedy.
Ashley: Well if we're talking movies from when I was, like, alive, then my fave was Scream. But if we're talking now, I've come to like The Conjuring and the whole, like, universe thingy that comes with it.
Ashlyn: My taste is totally similar to Ashley's Scream was my go to now Spree is my go to. The Conjuring is, like, a little too scary though.
Lewis: Its either Halloween H20 or Tales from the Hood. Both are good but I prefer TFtH a little more.
Erin: I generally like all horror movies but my favorite is House of 1000 Corpses.
Perry: Thir13en Ghost.
Ian: Well if I have to pick a favorite, its going to be House of 1000 Corpses. Me and Erin have a fairly similar taste in movies.
Julie: The Purge. Its a cool concept.
Kevin: Leprechaun. I know it isn't the best movie franchise out there but its enjoyable to me.
Samantha: The Amityville Horror I guess.
Andy: Christine. Its kinda ironic considering I work on cars for a living.
Hunt: Wrong Turn. Something about all the blood and guts just makes me like it a lot.
George: Get Out. I know its stereotypical but I just generally think its a good movie. I also like Trick 'r' Treat.
Janet: Jaws. The sequels get worse and worse but who am I to care?
Lori: Cujo and Child's Play 2.
Candice: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. Back then I thought it was weird and disgusting and I still do but now I have some appreciation for it.
Olivia: I don't care what Eugene says, Bride of Chucky is great and its a personal favorite of mine. I love Jennifer's Body too.
Dennis: The Babadook or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I don't have a favorite horror movie.
Peter: Silence of The Lambs.
Molly: I know its basic but you can't go wrong with Scream.
Nathan: Cabin in The Woods. No matter how many times I watch it I don't get bored.
(Can you tell I struggled?)

EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT HORROR TALE G O AND THE LORE
SIGHHHHHH OKAYYYY
Kidnapper is called Ethan Woodley and his father is Stephen Woodley (the carpenter that died in a fire) and we don't know anything about his mother yet. Ethan is probably involved in that fire since he looks like he has burn marks. Ethan broke out of an asylum and works with the witch Wanda, Wanda might be his sister (what I was told so don't kill me if she ends up not being his sister, but I hope she is). Ethan is 18 and has kidnapped Billy, Emma, Harry, Samantha and had attempted to kidnap Tom multiple times. He successfully turned Billy, Emma and Harry into wooden dolls by performing a ritual. He was going to turn Sam into a doll but she escaped. He's also creepy towards Sam 😭
Sam's full name is Samantha Stone and she is 12, she ran away from home, probably on her own, and got kidnapped by Ethan and pretended to be his friend for a while to not die. She was the first to get kidnapped but surprisingly not turned into a doll (being his 'friend' worked lol). She tried escaping at one point and got caught by Ethan, who then decided that he wanted to turn her into a doll, but I guess you need to prepare the ritual first since he couldn't turn her into a doll immediately and she needs up escaping with the help of Tom. She attends the same school as Tom so they've probably met before, just not properly. We don't know anything about her family yet.
Tom's full name is Tom Randy and he is probably about 11-12, we only know about his mother who has left notes and is a teacher I think, in my opinion his mother is quite neglectful and she doesn't even care about him disappearaning that much, we also know he does have a dad since he says "my father loves to watch advertisements, but I'm not my father". Tom lives on a farm, however his house had termites in HT 1 and 2 (maybe we will be able to go in his house in HT 3?) and he can ride a bike. He is friends with Harry and they have a tree house. Tom was kidnapped by Ethan but escaped and helped Sam escape, who then saved him last second. Tom has a crush? on Sam.
Harry's full name is Harry Lewis and he is Tom's friend. We no nothing about his school life or home life or his family. He is probably 11-12 as well. Harry is much more scared than Tom about the kidnappings and only stays in the treehouse during HT 1, he also complains a lot 🙄, and he is the 'smart/nerdy' character. He ends up getting kidnapped and tries to figure out a way to escape but failed and got turned into a doll. He might be Russian? That's just judging by his accent, if not then I guess it's just one of my headcannons 😭
Billy's full name is Billy Maelow and he is 11 years old. The only thing we know about his family is that he has a younger sister called Emma Maelow. Him and his sister was kidnapped, we don't know how or who got kidnapped first if they were kidnapped one then the other, however they do share a cell I think. Billy might be claustrophobic since Emma wrote about it in her note, we also know that Billy and Emma might be Christians/ come from a Christian family since Sam says about them praying. Billy was turned into a doll.
Emma's full name is Emma Maelow and she is 10 years old. Most of her info is the same as Billy's however she didn't seem to be claustrophobic and in her note she seemed more calm than Billy. She probably has a liking for peanut butter if she talks about how desperate she is for it while being kidnapped. We also know that Emma's family might not be that well off when it comes to money because in her note she says that if the kidnapper wanted a ransom her parents wouldn't have anything to give him. She was turned into a doll.
Wanda is the witch coming in HT 3, we don't know like anything about her apart from she might be Ethan's sister.
That's all my yap for now because my brain has melted into mush 😋😋😋
I love love love love love love love love love love love horror tale :3

Horror Roundup: Terrifier 3, SCREAMBOX in May & More!

Welcome, weirdos to the BrittNic Creations’ Horror Roundup! Today, I’ve brought you some news and updates from the horror realm. The topics could include new clips from an upcoming horror film*, gothic artwork, indie games, and much more! There’s a mixture of horror goodies for everyone in the Horror Roundup. This will always be a random post. I like to think that life and horror aren’t any fun without some absurdity included in them. Now, let’s get to the fun part!

SCREAMBOX May Streaming Lineup

SCREAMBOX has revealed new films are joining the horror streaming service in May, including Life of Belle, México Bárbaro II, and Death 4 Told. Journey south of the border with México Bárbaro II on SCREAMBOX May 10. Michelle Garza Cervera (Huesera: The Bone Woman) and Diego Cohen (Mark of the Devil) are among the anthology's nine filmmakers exploring Mexico's most horrific traditions and legends.

One body, two heads, and 6,000 teeth take a bite out of SCREAMBOX in 2-Headed Shark Attack on May 10. Carmen Electra (Scary Movie), Charlie O'Connell (The Bachelor), and Brooke Hogan (Hogan Knows Best) star in the campy creature feature.

Enjoy four wicked tales of terror in Death 4 Told on SCREAMBOX May 10. The 2004 indie horror anthology features Margot Kidder (Black Christmas), Tom Savini (Dawn of the Dead), Alicia Goranson (Roseanne), Rich Sommer (Mad Men), and Lily Pilblad (Fringe).

Drawing comparisons to Paranormal Activity and Skinamarink, Life of Belle haunts SCREAMBOX on May 17. The found footage film attempts to piece together the mysterious disappearance of a young girl. Other May highlights include: Old Habits Die Hard, starring horror icon Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th franchise); Russian psychological horror The Bride; Harlow’s Haunt, featuring The Texas Chain Saw Massacre's John Dugan; Japanese oddity Occult Bolshevism; and furry slasher Lone Wolf.

'Terrifier 3' Premiere Date Changed
Cineverse, an innovative streaming technology and entertainment company, and Bloody Disgusting, its horror division, have today announced that the Terrifier 3 is now slated for an October 11th premiere this year. This moves the release date up two weeks, giving fans even more time to get into the holiday spirit –and make sure their stomachs are fully settled in time for any year-end family gatherings and dinners.

Horror Books & Graphic Novels To Look Out For!
Bram Stoker Award nominee and critically acclaimed Black horror writer Johnny Compton returns with his eagerly anticipated sophomore novel Devils Kill Devils (on-sale Sep. 24, 2024) where monsters walk among us and in their wake lay shredded limbs, vengeful ambitions, and age-old prophecies edging ever-closer to reality. A Southern gothic horror set in the sticky Texas heat, Devils Kill Devils follows one brave woman in her pulse-pounding race against the hordes of hell. Compton’s Devils Kill Devils is infused with the dark corners and breathless urgency of Silvia Moreno-Garcia's Certain Dark Things. Through the steeled, steady courage of Sarita Bardales, this layered and terrifying tale reveals the blurred lines between angels and demons—and the pain of being caught in their crossfire.
Bestselling and #HorrorBookTok-favorite author Nick Cutter, THE QUEEN (on sale October 2) is a creeping, crawling horror that follows a young woman searching for answers around her friend’s disappearance and uncovering secrets beyond her wildest nightmares along the way. When Margaret Carpenter’s best friend, Charity Atwater, goes missing after a party, she believes her to be dead until an iPhone appears at her doorstep pinging with texts and clues from the missing girl. In a twisted scavenger hunt over one feverish day, Margaret follows Charity’s increasingly frantic breadcrumbs through their high school, under the city, and into the orbit of Rudyard Crate—a terrifying tech titan dedicating his billions to depraved gene-mutation experiments.
This fall, Ten Speed Graphic will launch a supernatural mystery series by acclaimed comics creator Tri Vuong: The Strange Tales of Oscar Zahn: Volume One (on sale September 10th, 2024). Adapted into a graphic novel from the fan-favorite Webtoon series, The Strange Tales of Oscar Zahn is beautifully illustrated and features extended artwork and an expanded storyline. Oscar Zahn is just like any other paranormal investigator—he’s working hard to make the world a better place, one exorcism at a time. So what if he’s just a floating skull wearing a trench coat? He’s still got a heart of gold! The Strange Tales of Oscar Zahn: Volume One introduces readers to Oscar and his mysterious assistant Agnes as they embark on a frightening yet heartwarming journey across ethereal realms, rescuing lost souls and solving creepy mysteries. Yet the more mysteries Oscar solves, the clearer it becomes that there's a greater game afoot, one that involves his own forgotten origin story.
