Hamas Are Evil. The World Will Be A Better Place When It Does Not Exist.
And it is important to remember, now and always, that Hamas does not equal All Gazans, or All Palestinians. Nor does it reflect the views of all Gazans or Palestinians- especially since about half the population of Gaza wasn't even alive the last time they had an election. Indeed, no people on Earth has suffered more cruelly because of Hamas than have the people of Gaza.
I support Israel's right to exist and defend itself. I understand the NECESSITY of Israel's continued existence for the security of the Jewish people and the stability of the world. I condemn Anti-semitism in any form that I see it, and when I do not see it, I hope to be better educated and more aware in the future. I do so, as a non-Jewish, non-Israeli Leftist, as a consequence of a belief in the value of peoples' lives, in opposition to bigotry and collective guilt/punishment, and in the rightness of defending basic rights even of enemies, and of challenging hypocrisy and dishonesty and ignorance even when it's on "your side".
So when I see posts portraying all Palestinians, Gazans, Arabs, or Muslims as enemies/terrorists/Nazis, or calling for their deaths, I will report it and block. Just as I do when I see such posts targeting Israel or Jews.
This especially goes for anyone who argues that Polio vaccines should be withheld from Gazans, or used as a bargaining chip. POLIO IS CONTAGIOUS. And it does not care about where a border is or which side you're on. It just infects, and spreads, and maims, and kills, because that is what it is evolved to do.
The world is well on its way to finally eradicating it like smallpox, and it would be a previous injury to all of humanity to backslide on that, even a little bit.
There is little enough that the Netanyahu government has ever done that I agree with. But credit where credit is due, deciding to at least pause the fighting to vaccinate people for polio is one. An act of both pragmatic reason and moral clarity in a situation which is horribly bereft of either.

I have an interview tomorrow at the library I practically lived in as a child, but it’s a very part time role that I - economically - cannot afford to accept.
On the other hand, I absolutely despise my current job and wish to burn the building to the ground every damn day. Mental health over financial stability battle commences🫡

please forgive me, but I need to complain and over-share or my brain is going to explode please feel free to ignore
#I'm not doing well.#the last two places I worked (in a tourism-adjacent sector) closed. broadly speaking due to post-lockdown financial issues#for the past year at my current job I've been earning less than half what I used to. this was the only offer I got at the time and#I haven't found anything better since. this is not sustainable I'm barely making it each month...#I live with my parents and cancelled my health insurance I don't know how else to reduce my budget. it's depressing tbh#the solution is obviously to find a better job but that's just not happening and I'm beginning to feel discouraged.#I hate being negative it's a very unattractive character trait but I just feel myself slipping and spiraling#I know I should be taking short courses or volunteering to boost my cv but like when ! and how !#I can't afford to work less but I get home at 20h so even evening courses are tricky. I work every other saturday too so weekends are out#and like I do need to rest at some point you can't be depressed and burnt out that's a terrible combo#was looking at a dtp/typesetting short course and 1) I'll need a new computer that can actually run design programs#and 2) the course itself is like 2 month's salaries which I cannot realistically save right now#and yet I'm still ''over-qualified'' for entry level positions because I went to uni. well maybe that's just a polite excuse#because as interesting as my humanities degrees were they didn't equip me with any practical or marketable skills#besides being good at reading and writing. but AI can do that for free now so that's not helpful#I always thought I was reasonably intelligent but I cannot solve this puzzle. there must be a creative solution that I'm missing#but i feel so stuck and trapped#and at least once a week some poor soul stumbles in to the office practically begging for a job so I feel bad for complaining#a little truly is better than nothing#but thank god we elected more pro-business capitalists into government that really is going to be great for us workers (sarcasm)#also I should acknowledge#I am getting some déjà vu. I feel like I've vented about this topic before#the difference is. back then it was a potential concern. now the concern has materialised into reality and rendered the situation desperate

rly wish male athletes would stop treating their wives and children as props for the sole benefit of their own well-being and sports career. like idk how to phrase this well but in that six nations show the sheer number of guys crediting their wives and kids for making them behave better/ have a more holistic view on life, “my children love me no matter how bad I play” like. smth abt banking on the unconditional love of children while you’re being an absent father bc of your job is crazy 😭😭😭

Pro Nail Complex: My Journey to Healthy, Beautiful Nails Again.
For years, I'd been self-conscious about my nails. Discolouration, brittleness, and a constant battle with fungal growth left them looking unsightly and weak. I tried numerous over-the-counter treatments, but nothing seemed to work effectively. Then, I discovered Pro Nail Complex, and let me tell you, it's been a game-changer!
Tumblr media
A Natural Solution with Powerful Results
ProNail Complex immediately appealed to me because of its natural formula. Packed with ingredients like tea tree oil, lavender oil, and clary sage, it promised a gentle yet effective approach to tackling my nail woes. I was a little sceptical at first, having had limited success with other treatments. However, after reading positive reviews and learning about the science behind the ingredients' antifungal and antibacterial properties, I decided to give it a go.
Easy Application and Quick Absorption
Using ProNail Complex couldn't be simpler. The spray format makes application a breeze, ensuring even coverage over the entire nail surface and surrounding skin. The formula absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy residue behind. This was a huge bonus for me, as some other topical treatments I'd used felt heavy and unpleasant on the skin.
Visible Improvement Within Weeks
I began noticing a difference in my nails within a few weeks of consistent use. The discolouration started to fade, and the overall texture of my nails felt smoother and stronger. The brittleness that had plagued them for so long gradually lessened, and they were no longer breaking at the slightest touch. It was truly a delight to see my nails finally growing healthy and long.
Long-Lasting Results and Overall Nail Health
After completing the recommended treatment period, I'm happy to report that my nails have completely transformed. The discolouration is gone, replaced by a healthy pink hue. They're noticeably stronger and more resilient, and I can finally paint them without worrying about them breaking or chipping. ProNail Complex not only addressed the fungal issue but also seems to have improved the overall health of my nails.
A Product I Highly Recommend
If you're struggling with unsightly or unhealthy nails, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Pro Nail Complex a try. Its natural formula, ease of use, and powerful results have truly impressed me. It's a fantastic option for anyone seeking a gentle yet effective solution to restore the health and beauty of their nails. Pro Nail Complex has given me back the confidence to show off my nails once again, and for that, I'm incredibly grateful.

Sometimes, as much as I love internet communities and spaces, I really think a lot of people have spent so much time in sanitized, morally pure echo chambers that they lose sight of realism and life outside the internet.
I live in Alabama. My fiancée and I cannot hold hands down the street without fear of homophobic assholes. We have an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest. We are one of the poorest states in the US with some of the lowest scores on metrics related to quality of life, including maternal mortality, healthcare, education, and violence. It’s not a coincidence that we are also one of the most red, one of the most Republican states in the Union. In 2017 the UN said the conditions in Alabama are similar to those in a third-world country.
Trump gave a voice to the most violently racist, sexist, xenophobic groups of people who, unfortunately for most of us in the Southern U.S., run our states and have only grown more powerful since his rise to power. The Deep South powers MAGA, and we all suffer for it.
We have no protections if they don’t come from the federal government.
I know people are suffering internationally and my heart is with them. However, this election is not just about foreign policy - we have millions of Americans right here at home living in danger, living in areas where they have been completely abandoned by their local leaders. We need this win.
No candidate is perfect, but for the first time in my voting lifetime I’m excited to vote. I’m excited for the Kamala Harris/Tim Walz ticket because they are addressing the issues close to home. They’re advocating for education as the ticket to a better life, but without the crippling student debt. They’re advocating for the right to love who you love without fear and with pride. Kamala has always been pro-LGBT+ and so has Tim. Again, if you’re queer in the South, we don’t have support unless it comes from the federal government, and we absolutely will not have support if the Republicans regain the White House.
Kamala speaks in length about re-entry programs to reduce recidivism and help people who have been arrested and imprisoned regain their lives. Tim Walz supported restoring voting rights to felons. In the South, you know who comprise the majority of felons? Members of minorities. It’s one of the major tools of systemic racism and mass disenfranchisement, and arguably the modern face of slavery (there are some fantastic documentaries and books that explain the connection between the post-Reconstruction South and the disproportionate rates of imprisonment for BIPOC). Having candidates who recognize this and want to restore the freedom and rights to people who have come into contact with the criminal justice system? And keep them from having to go to prison in the first place? That’s refreshing. That’s exciting.
I would *love* to live in a country where women’s rights are respected, where LGBT+ rights and protections are a given, where we treat former criminals and individuals experiencing mental health crises with respect and dignity. I would *love* to live in a country where education is free of religious interference and each and every citizen is entitled to a fair start and equal opportunities.
But I don’t live in that country. Millions and millions of Americans find their rights and freedoms up for debate and on the ballot.
Project 2025 poses the largest threat to the future of our democracy as we know it. We are being called to fight for the future of our country.
We have to put on our oxygen masks first before we can help others.
You don’t have moral purity when you wash your hands of the millions of us who are still fighting for own freedoms right here.
The reality is that a presidential candidate is a best fit, and not a perfect fit. But comparatively speaking? Kamala is pretty damn close.
