Here is me ranting/venting? because I need to get this out

!!Spoilers for Unwind!! And super creepy stuff

Okay so I’ve read the entire Unwind dystology, and of course I decided to re-read the books. I just re-read Roland’s unwinding scene from Unwind and HOLY FUCK it almost feels worse than the first time I read it. Everything after “splitting the corpus callosum” on page 292 was TERRIFYING. The feelings you get when you read it are so disturbing that you just feel “out of place” after you read it.

It’s just the way that they go in on his brain, and how he gradually loses consciousness as they cut his brain apart, and then listing the parts of the brain??? Like, it’s not really about the order or them taking his brain parts, but it’s just so utterly creepy the way they go in for his lobes and cerebellum and finally his brain stem. when they get to the hippocampus/medulla, he’s completely gone. It’s the “best” worst scene I’ve ever read, props to Neal Shusterman for being such a great writer.

The way that he has NO SENSES and he’s sort of stuck with his thoughts, like, no sight, no sound, etc. and the way he fades out of consciousness while trying to say to himself “but I’m still here” It’s fucking terrifying how good it was written, and anytime I read it I feel like I’m experiencing it which is great for an author but bad for the reader in this case. I hate Roland so much but that was the one time I felt bad for him. Btw I definitely cried when I re-read it because it felt so real, it really feels like you’re actually going through it.

Never before have i actually sat down to read a REAL fanfic until yesterday (And today! I stopped at chapter 6 and read the rest today ^_^). I saw it in the tags of a spamton blog's art and decided to check it out since i had read a really short one without chapters on the site before but MAN was i not ready for this one!!! HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT FANFICS????? I had always heard not so great things about fanfiction (and ive seen that most are ship based and I'm not really into ships with my favorite characters*) so I never really bothered to look, especially since I was usually more into the whole media rather than a specific character. (WHO LET ME GET AWAY WITH THIS??) I used to tease my friend for having 700+ videos saved on tiktok for their favorite actor, (but I TOTALLY GET IT NOW, I WOULD SO DO THAT IF I HAD TIKTOK) Until almost exactly a month ago I developed a hyperfixation on Spamton after learning who he was and watching Jerma's playthrough, and MAN it is SO FUN reading all the theories, headcanons, and peoples analyses of Spamton and his character/story I am totally hooked and I am SO SO SO SO glad this was the first real fanfiction ive read beacause IT IS GREAT!!!! AND I MEAN IT!!! THE CHARACTERIZATION IS SO GOOD AND I LOVE THE VIVID DISCRIPTIONS, I WAS SO SO SO EXCITED WHILE READING THIS ONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ IT IF YOU HAVENT!!!!! I LOVE THE WAY THE CHARACTERS INTERACT AND OF COURSE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE SEEING THE HEADCANONS SPEWN THROUGHOUT!!! AAARGH EXPLODES EVERWHERE!!!! thank you SO SO SO SO much for writing this fic and i am SO going to read [[Data Recovering]]!!!

Okay but like. Two things about the volume 8 statue [redacted] chapter.

Firstly. By god no amount of "yeah it was unhinged" comments on this website prepared me for whatever the fuck that was. I need at least 5 business days to process.

Second, was I the only one who read that scene as:

There are total three major possession scenes of Bong-gil in the movie, but this one, this one creeped me out the most. Shout out to Lee Do-hyun's top tier level of acting

one thing i really like is how they obviously went out of their way to match asahi's speech patterns with his and yotsuyu's father. the guy is a minor NPC who barely has any lines, and yet despite him being an old man who doesn't particularly look like asahi he uses the exact same inflections and tone of voice. you've already been listening to asahi being a creep this whole time, and then suddenly if you're paying attention it becomes so clear where he got it from. he really does just sound exactly like his dad.

(and it makes absolutely everything about the situation that much more skin-crawling, considering what their father is actually saying in the scene where that stands out the most.)

again, minor NPC with very little screentime; it would have been easy for them to just give him A Voice and be done with it, and instead they took the opportunity to imply volumes about asahi and his dynamic with his family in such an effective, understated way. anyway the naeuri siblings are ruining my life

ENABLERS BY DEFINITION ARE IRRATIONAL AND ILLOGICAL AND I THINK ANOTHER REASON WHY THE BREAKUP GRABBED ME BY THE BALLS AND TWISTED IS BECAUSE I GENUINELY NEVER COULD'VE IMAGINED CUDDY WOULD SAY THAT? And god the fucking parallel between the s6 finale scene and the scene that follows after cuddy ends things with house. Dude i cant even talk about it like ill actually throw up (is gonna talk about it) HOUSE IS IN THE EXACT SAME POSITION House is slumped against his bathtub orange bottle of vicodin in hand and staring at his palm where two white pills lie. The scene exactly parallels its predecessor and both you and house almost hope they both end the same way .House looks at the doorway eyes swollen and red but no wilson no cuddy no one comes to save him from himself and he forces the vicodin into his mouth like a man sentenced to be publicly hung wounding the noose around his own neck. The stark parallels between the two scenes are just fucking me up so bad god man i dont know. I sound like a youtuber rightnow but i am genuinely just so absolutely ruined and need to find solace.......................... I know theres no rationalising this kind of thing but do u think house truly is inseparable from his vices........... Do you think he could've been the life partner cuddy needed without leaning on drugs.............. I know house got better i know he can be better even without the aid of vicodin but is there a universe where gregory house could ever be enough for lisa cuddy. God idont even care anymire im throwing up part of my lung
