I need people to understand that my hyperfixation ships are limited to one thing: a man who is usually in full control of himself meeting 1 woman and losing complete and utter control over absolutely everything he does.

I just like to watch when they go full feral for a woman who could literally chew them up and spit them out, but choses to let them stick around because I don't know, it's nice to have someone carrying their bag or whatever.

can I ask what bridgerton books you’ve read and if they’re worth it

i read “the viscount who loved me” yeeeeears ago. and it is still probably my fav regency romance novel. it’s not even perfect. i just loooved the characterizations. (they’ll NEVER make me hate you book kate) and i think the banter and slow burn in the first half of the book was SOOO good. and literally what so many romance novels LACK. bc insta-lust/love just doesn’t pack the same punch. i’m sorry

also i litchrally claimed kate as a women of color in my own delusions back when i was literally reading a standard White Ass Regency Romance Novel (BEFORE there was ever any show) bc i just loved kate that much. and was like WHOS gonna beat my ass⁉️ (this was after still star crossed lol) she was a woman of color. TO ME.

plus they described kate as “dark” and edwina as “fair” in the book a lot which i know just meant hair/eyes but i was like. slay! no take backs! LDMLSJSKSJ

(so despite everything about the way the show did kate i did absolutely WIN in that aspect)

next. the second book i read was “romancing mister bridgerton”. (again. this is before there was ever a show) bc i liked the little of penelope i saw in kanthonys book. but then. well. reading that book is when i realized “the viscount who loved me” might have been a fluke bc WHAT in the world. “romancing mister bridgerton” was just 350 pages of penelope getting dogged by the boringest MOST bitchless man on earth. the way she PINED for colin from literally page 1. PAGE ONE. but the book doesn’t spend a SINGLE second making him compelling in ANY way, shape or form was MIND boggling. AND THEN gave him the audacity to treat HER like shit⁉️

and the WHOLE TIME the book is like they’re friends to lovers btw!!! hehe <333. NO THEY WERENT! DONT piss me off rn. that man was NOT her friend. he was nice to her ONLY when he deemed her below him. and as soon as he found out she had success in something he didn’t, it was immediate disdain and disrespect for her. that’s not a friend?!

ALL WHILE! she falls all over herself bc of how bad she wants him. i wanted to get her the fuck out of her OWN romance when i was reading that book. i could not believe what it was selling as real true love. garbage

next. i was debating if i should check out another book after that mess. bc i didn’t know if the other were also bad. and eventually just decided to start from the beginning (moment of silence 😞) and pulled up “the duke and i” and then as im reading the synopsis i stumble on a review detailing the plot and that describes the actual sexual assault in that book that gets played off as romance.

aaand i have NOT touched another bridgerton book since

i Have heard eloise’s book and romance is awful by mutuals who have read them all. and benedict’s is not very great either. francesca’s book may be the only worthy follow up to tvwlm. those 2 are generally considered the better ones of the series.

i’m still recovering from the ones i have read though so wont be able to confirm any time soon

It doesn’t track at all though. What you’re talking about is confirmation bias. These are conspiracy theories that have been made up by people wanting somebody to blame for things not going the way they want. There is no evidence for any of this and the most outlandish things are being posted with no evidence and spread without challenge. And it’s being eaten up by people who already have a narrative in their heads & WANT to believe it. This person is a grifter who knows exactly what buttons to push & what to say to get a particular section of ppl in this fandom mad in order to target hate at somebody they personally have an issue with (mainly Nicola). They’re engagement farming. And you’ll notice a lot of what they say doesn’t even come from them. Somebody will come into their inbox and say X, Y, Z (just inventing something) and OP will go, ‘Yep, that’s true.’ This is misinformation 101 and it is deeply concerning. I am a Kanthony fan but this type of stuff is why I feel uncomfortable engaging with the fandom. I hate that this blind acceptance of clearly ludicrous falsehoods has become the norm simply bc it fits what people want to be true. I am begging you to reconsider what you are giving a platform to.

Want it to be true? LOL ok. There are facts. Johnny and Simone have NEVER been given joint press or interviews. With just the two of them. Not a photo shoot. And since S3, the ppl who have been trying have been blocked. Versha Sharma, EDITOR OF TEEN VOGUE, confirmed it on Twitter. And i dont want to hear about COVID. Y'all just make stuff up to justify blatant racism of a dark skinned indian woman and im tired of it. As per those script re writes, a lot of Kate scenes and POV was cut. They had to pay for their own wrap party. I could go on but this is getting boring already.

Also have seen the way NC acts online, doesn't scream kind or nice as she preaches because she often sets up fans with opinions to get attacked who then start attacking the BIPOC actors. And NC is silent. See no evil so don't have to speak up about it. I'm a poc and let me tell you, it's hurtful when your white co worker or friend sees it happen to you and remains silent. Shows they aren't an ally or friend really.

If you don't believe tulipanon, that's your choice. But confusing why you're trying to tell me what to think and believe. If you want to unfollow me, your choice. But before you go, maybe you should question why you refuse to believe it is true? What confirmation bias do you hold that you REFUSE to accept what a lot of ppl have been saying about the horrible treatment of Kanthony and by extension, Jimone.

When I watched season 2 I actually really loved Kanthony but honestly thanks to their fans that are hating not only on Polin but also on Nicola and Luke I am starting to really dislike them. Same kind of with Benedict and Sophie.

I know a lot of their fans are nice and such but there are so many horrible people on twitter that hate and basically bully Nicola and Luke so much that now both deleted twitter.

I never did share HCs for Kanthony have I? (Other than Anthony living life passively if Kate had died post horse accident)

How would Kanthony be like parents?

Prepping for a bbq as I write this (multitasking queeeeen) so its not that thought out.

Of course, like 90% of the fandom, I believe Anthony would be overprotective of his daughters' but I think Show Anthony would be slightly different. He would still be overprotective but he would value his daughters' opinions and trust them enough to make their own decisions and mistakes.

I like to think Anthony would learn a lot from his S2 mistakes and raise his sons to be true men and not just show and book Anthony's weirdo definition of a "gentleman" (which, surprise surprise is not gentlemanly. We all the the most gentlemanly thing Anthony did was eat Kate out on him mums gazebo.) Post s2, he's realized what his behaviors post Edmunds death, has affected his siblings and also others (The Sharma women). He's more aware of the damage he can cause when he's too linear controlling and selfish with his thoughts and plans. SO I see that changing him as a parent. Show Anthony is more complicated than Book Anthony was but that would also make Show Anthony a better father than Book Anthony.

Kate's already been a mother to Edwina and she sees how that blew up in her face. She would be more cautious and hesitant of how she is as a mother. Kate would probably be more nervous and less sure when the kiddos are slowly becoming more independent. But this Kate is more confident in standing her ground when it comes to herself and voicing what she herself desires. She wouldn't hesitate to take a break or seek out help whether thats from Mary or Violet and Daphne.

Anthony and Kate are a team now. They have each other to fall back on and seek support from. They have both experienced a parents love, their loss, and a parents neglect. They've seen how those three things have affected them well into their adulthoods and how they then subconsciously caused problems for their own loved ones. So I truly believe that Show Kanthony would be better parents than Book Kanthony.

What could have been done better Book or Show?

Sex. The book is tame and both JB and Simone had enough chemistry to sink the Titanic. so the lack of extreme sexy times in both is abysmal. The book gets a slight pass. BUT THE SHOW? come on. You're telling me a single scene of Anthony testing Kate's riding skills couldnt have happened??? Anthony Bridgerton you told Kate there are many things you can teach her. Dont be a bitch and deliver.

As a fan of the books office/study scene, I wanted that in the show.

I know a lot of people dont like that scene but whatever I love it and I wanted to see it on the show.

As far as the book goes, I hated the wedding night. It was dumb. Anthonys speech is great (watch the writers give that scene away) but the execution from start to finish is dumb.

Don't like the whole husbandly right's spiel Anthony goes on. What would've been great is Anthony telling Kate he'll give her two weeks to prep but only if he can give her lessons. "The things that I could teach you" The show saw the potential of this but even they failed to deliver. Can we get a Christmas special of Anthony and Kate's lessons please?

I know you dont care for any bridgerton couples other than kanthony but you do hate polin and basically as a benedict and sophie stan I am filled with sheer rage at polin getting the season that should rightfully be sophie’s, especially since polin’s book ends with eloise running away and starting her story so basically can guarantee it’ll be at least two seasons before I get crumbs of sophie content and benedict will be fucking geriatric by that time

i didn’t read benedict’s book but he’s like the only sibling with screen time that was tolerable to me. which is why i also think they should’ve just kept the right order and season 3 should’ve been his. but dam i heard eloise’s book was even Worse than polins. L
