In 2014, Chevrolet announced vaguely, that they would be returning to a classic nameplate to rival the Dodge Charger, introducing the 2016 Chevrolet Chevelle, replacing the 8th generation Malibu, equipped with some familiar engine options, the 2.4L Ecotec, the LFW V6, and the LUK I4 Hybrid system, though with the usage of the E2XX platform, it would require severe modification for it's final party trick, a L77, also used in the Holden Commodore, and Chevrolet Caprice, but in 2018, it would be revealed that the Super Sport nameplate would be revived, revealing a LT4-powered Chevrolet Chevelle SS for the 2019 model year, with All-Wheel-Drive added, sales have been great for GM, selling the Chevelle SS as a halo car alongside the Corvette, though it has since been set to be discontinued for 2024, leaving a hole in Chevrolet's lineup in the near future.

Variations on a theme: Part 10 Holden VZ/WL, 2004. The hard-working Holden V-body Commodore spawned 6 versions not counting concepts or 4-wheel-drive variants. In addition to the the multiple trim levels available in saloon and long wheelbase station wagon versions, the wagon was also sold as an Adventra 4x4 crossover. There was the Monaro coupé though the convertible version never made it into production. The were 2 and 4-door utes also available with 4-wheel-drive as well as one-ton versions and the SST Stepside concept. Finally the long wheelbase platform of the wagon was used for the Caprice full-size luxury saloon. The VZ was the last iteration of the General Motors V-platform

Holden HX LE Coupe (Monaro)

The HX Holden LE Coupe was launched in September 1976 and was not known 'officially' as a Monaro. The HX LE was created due to leftover Monaro body shells and Statesman Caprice parts. All were painted in a unique colour called LE Red with Gold Pinstriping and featured Holden's 5.0 Litre 308ci V8. Other features included, air conditioning, Red velour trim with plaid inserts in the seats, matching deep cut pile carpets, walnut over the dash and centre console, three-spoke sports steering wheel. eight track cartridge tape player, power windows, automatic transmission, front and rear spoilers and honeycomb-style wheels, which were a plastic mould attached to the standard steel rim. All HX Holden LE Coupes were built at Holden's Pagewood assembly plant in Sydney, NSW which would eventually close in 1980.

Statesman Caprice WB, 1980. General Motors created the Statesman marque for their Australian flagship models with the arrival of the HQ series in 1971. They used the longer wheelbase platform from Holden's station wagon models. The WB was the final Statesman series, it was a heavily revised version of the original HQ and remained in production until 1984. The Statesman was sold in South Africa and some Middle Eastern markets with Chevrolet badges. GM announced in 1984 that they were leaving the long wheelbase luxury car market but re-entered it in 1990, however the new generation car was badged as a Holden Statesman
