In the middle of the film, Godzilla can be seen in an ancient city sunken below the waves that worshiped him as a god. The city was designed with Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and even Japanese artworks and architecture. What if that was the city of Atlantis?

I decided to come up with a likely outline of a movie that WB/Legendary/TOHO might be very keen on making in the near future.

I call it Godzilla: Atlantis. Key design notes are listed below.

Atlantis is a major island city located in the Atlantic (Mediterranean Area) w/ influences of Mesopotamian, Grecian, Japanese, Chinese, Mesoamerican, Polynesian, and Egyptian aesthetics. Home of The Titans (Kaiju) and are worshipped as the First Gods. 

The Ziggurat temple in the center of the city is called “Palace of The Titans”

Ports on North, South, East, and West ends of the city allow for trade.

Mountain ridges capped w/ snow at North end of the island. The snow flows from the mountains into the fore-runner of an Aqueduct system.

Titans emit a certain radiation that allow for the environment to produce Prehistoric “superfoods”, keep the oceans level, and slow the freezing of polar ice caps. In short, they are the Keystone Species of Planet Earth itself and killing them can be regarded as a “freaking stupidly disastrous idea”.

City runs on geothermic power from the volcano on the island. The engineering allows for the lava runoff containing radiation to easily be housed in chambers below the city so the Titans can absorb it safely.

Ghidorah falls from the heavens in the form of a meteor named Gorath on the day of the Summer Solstice.

The city is torn apart by the force of Ghidorah’s storm and the volcanic eruption triggering the city to explode and sink into the sea.

Godzilla and the Titans mange to seal Ghidorah away using Scylla’s power of water and ice and Behemoth imposing himself to place the frozen beast somewhere cold and barren. The cost was a high body count as the dead were either incinerated by Godzilla’s breath, crushed by rubble, or swept away by the waves.

The lone survivors of Atlantis would travel to Greece, Cyprus, Babylon, Italy, and Egypt. The Legend of Atlantis would then be told through Plato’s works Timaeus and Criteas which were reported to be quoted from Solon, an Athenian statesman visiting Egypt in 590 BC where Atlantean records were kept.

Supernatural Gave The Walking Dead’s Lucille a Cameo

This isn’t the first time a crossover between the two shows has been teased, with actors Ackles and Morgan engaging in a playful exchange about Lucille on Twitter back in October. With this latest episode now aired, that at least explains why Ackles was standing around the Supernatural set with a replica of Lucille, outside of just wanting to have a laugh with his former TV dad.

One does wonder whether Morgan will ever actually return to Supernatural and play John one last time. Producers have made clear on many occasions that they would love to have him back, and that the ball is basically in his court on the matter. Thankfully, it’s very likely that Supernatural will still be on the air at the point Morgan’s tenure as Negan comes to an end.

While AMC’s apocalyptic juggernaut The Walking Dead seems like a show likely to run for multiple more seasons, it still has a good ways to go before it manages to catch up to The CW’s Supernatural, one of the current elder statesman of TV drama. Supernatural holds the rare distinction of actually being older than the network that airs it, having debuted on The WB in fall 2005, less than a year before that network would merge with UPN to become the current CW.

Now in season 12 — with season 13 already ordered by The CW — Supernatural seems to have no end in sight, at least as long as stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles remain up for more monster-hunting adventures as heroic lead duo Sam and Dean Winchester. While Supernatural has become well-known over the years for a tendency to bring back previously deceased characters for another hurrah, one important Supernatural character that hasn’t been seen since the early years is Winchester dad John, at least in his grizzled adult form.

The lack of John is presumably due to the fact that actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is basically always working, whether in films or on TV. Morgan’s latest TV character is arguably his most iconic, that of The Walking Dead’s murderous despot Negan, leader of the barbaric Saviors. However, while Morgan hasn’t appeared on Supernatural in many years, he’s far from forgotten, as evidenced by a none too subtle Negan shout-out present on the most recent episode. In the opening moments of ‘Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell’, Dean struts into frame covered in blood, with what appears to be Lucille swung over his shoulder. Dean then quips to Sam that their dad loved the weapon.

Naturally, this reference did not go unnoticed on social media for very long, with fans of both series quickly going crazy for the apparent crossover:

KOSOVO TEN YEARS AFTER: Not Even A State, But Already "Failed" His Excellency Mihailo Papazoglu

True, just above 100 countries recognised Kosovo Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) ten years ago, but recently some three of those revoked it - Guinea Bissau, Surinam and Burundi. I am not saying this is a trend but it is a reality. Kosovo officials are denying it; explaining that recognition cannot be revoked. That is fake reality.

 Reality of “ten years after in Kosovo” is completely different - defined by the most recent “signature” killing of a prominent democratic Serbian leader. In such a clan-based society, a high profile political assassination could not happen without “somebody pushing the button”. We consider it as a terrorist act and as a message to the other 220,000 Serbian Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) expelled from Kosovo in 1999 that they will never return to their homes. First consequence of slaying Oliver Ivanovic is that his family moved to Belgrade for good.

Part of the problem is that almost all Albanian political leaders from Kosovo are former warlords. There is no such example in Balkans!

 Their fear of prison is the main reason for the Albanian refusal to cooperate with International tribunal that is set up to bring justice for war crimes perpetuated by the UCK guerrilla over Serbs and non-Albanians. Hope that this is enough arguments for those who consider voting in favour of Kosovo joining Interpol.

 Unfortunately, the practice of copy-pasting reports from internationals organisations in Kosovo throughout last ten years was not helpful either. The reality is this, as well as unwarranted embellishments of the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, could not cover the stalemate.

 Another danger is Kosovo’s wish to create an army or “big Albania” by unifying Kosovo with Albania is an obvious casus belli. If there is no big Croatia or big Serbia, there should not be big or bigger Albania. Pretty much all the countries in the region are against it. Just recently, Kosovo’s PM Haradinaj obtained Albanian citizenship through an urgent procedure. Four high level Albania’s government officials are from Kosovo (ministerial level). A smoking gun? There is no such thing as good or bad nationalism - they should all be addressed with firm opposition.

 On the other hand, support of China and Russia over blocking Kosovo accession in the UN and other international organisation is often presented as a cliché of East-West cleavage here in Canada. But the reality is that another almost 100 countries did not recognise UDI: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Chile. These are states far from our region and no Serbs live there, yet they opposed it.

Further, by intervention of five EU countries that did not recognise UDI: Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Slovakia and Spain, Kosovo is, if not set out, then set a side from EU WB Enlargement strategy. We see that not as a will to create another frozen conflict but as incentive for Albanian leaders in Kosovo to continue dialogue with Belgrade in a way to find solution together with us. As a frontrunner in EU enlargement for 2025, together with Montenegro, Serbia should not be punished for unwillingness or unpreparedness of Albanian leadership from Kosovo to strike a deal.

We expect Canada to encourage Albania to approach these negotiations in good faith but not by looking over its shoulders for others to put more pressure on Serbia. That is why we confirmed in writing our support for Canada’s candidacy for a UN Security Council (SC) non-permanent seat. We hoped if an agreement could be reached by that time, it could be supported by Canada within SC. International guarantees would be certainly part of the deal.

We are ready for a historical deal, not for a defeat of any of our two sides. That is why recognition of Kosovo’s UDI is not an option for us. For all politicians involved in this process there is an opportunity to become true statesman’s in the interest of better life for people of both nations. This rationale should not be easily discarded. In the Balkans, moments like this are too rare to be wasted.

Statesman Caprice WB, 1980. General Motors created the Statesman marque for their Australian flagship models with the arrival of the HQ series in 1971. They used the longer wheelbase platform from Holden's station wagon models. The WB was the final Statesman series, it was a heavily revised version of the original HQ and remained in production until 1984. The Statesman was sold in South Africa and some Middle Eastern markets with Chevrolet badges. GM announced in 1984 that they were leaving the long wheelbase luxury car market but re-entered it in 1990, however the new generation car was badged as a Holden Statesman
