You know what we don't see a lot of in TMA'verse? The exploration of Jon's brownness. It's widely accepted that Jon is some flavor of brown in fanon but we never see him with a bindi or read that he always smells faintly of sandalwood from morning prayer to his parents and grandmother. I'd love to see fanart of a young Jon next to his tiny dadi (paternal grandmother), both wearing traditional white clothes as they pray during Narayan Bali Yagya (Hindu funeral rites for unusual deaths) for his father. Or a background picture on his desk of him and dadi, in a beautiful saffron orange and deep red sari, posing and serious at his high school graduation ceremony, his olive green dhoti peeking from behind his unzipped gown and NEHS stole, cap held carefully in his hands.
What if Martin finds out that he's more successful in getting his workaholic boss to take a meal break if he brings in Kerala food, particularly Idiyappam with Curry.
What is, once Jon has been sufficiently traumatized so like s3, he searches for comfort in childhood memories and Jon pulls out some stuff he remembers his mom and dad wearing around home when he was small, including a rather small mango mala necklace his mother wore and a couple gold bangles that match his father's heirloom ring passed down for 4 generations.
Like, he doesn't have to be Hindu (approx. 1.6% of UK identifies as Indian) but the point is we should fully embrace him being brown.

sashaaaa tell me about jon georgie long fic….
so im trying to do a longfic about the entirety of jon and georgie's relationship. and they meet at oxford, right? so im like, okay, what would they be studying at oxford? and oh my god these options are bullshit.so many cool potentials with a philosophy and language mixed degree but the language options are all fucking european, plus arabic and persian. this is embarrassing. at least have fucking hindi. their modern languages options are greek, italian, english, french, spanish, portuguese, arabic, czech with slovak, german, hebrew, persian, and turkish. and while those are cool. why can't you go any farther east or west. you could at least get some fucking chinese in here. like i understand why they would limit it but you're going to offer fucking czech with slovak and NOT chinese? one of the most spoken languages in the world and arguably one of the most influential cultures?
anyway i think jon would be an english w/ literature focus or philosophy major. georgie i'm still up in the air about. could see her doing a minor in hebrew tho

...some more desi!jon and martin hcs? for the soul?
Hello!!! Sorry for taking so long to answer, I needed to get into the right headspace lol
You know how it's a desi custom to like feed each other cake on birthdays? You do it with your loved ones especially so I'm imagining it's Jon's birthday and Tim insists on feeding him cake and he begrudgingly agrees then suddenly everyones feeding him cake and laughing and feeding everyone else and Martin really shouldn't feel like it's so intimate (indirect kisses as such) but it's a bonding moment for the whole archives crew
Jon is like insanely good at rangoli patterns, his grandma put him to work every festival season and it kept his hands busy for hours on end, building spiral patterns with vibrant powders. He lost some of it over the years, but in the Scottish Safehouse, he makes smaller patterns across the entrance almost as a sigil against everything they were being hunted by
Martin has a pretty good Bengali accent and is fluent, his mum refused to speak anything other than Bangla so he's kept it up all these years and gotten quite good at it to the point where he's sometimes mistaken for a native speaker
Jon has an atrocious accent and can just about get by in Hindi, he had been sat down by his grandma to try and teach him a couple of times over his childhood but he never could concentrate for long enough, his grandma shouted too much for his liking and he was a gifted kid so if he didn't get it immediately, he wouldn't do it at all
Jon's favourite Bollywood actor is Irrfan Khan cause he thinks he's super impactful and he loved him in Piku (but he grew up watching mostly old black and white Bangla movies directed by satyajit Roy like Pather Panchali)
Martin's favourite has to be SRK cause he's a classic and he grew up watching him and whenever he's sad he watches Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Chennai Express
They both adore 3 Idiots though, like they were both screwed over by the education system in different ways (Martin struggled with juggling school and caring for his mum so he ended up dropping out, Jon and his burned out gifted kid vibes), they understand the pressure to get a certain level of educated and a certain type of profession (they would've gotten it from judgemental relatives lol like you couldve used your intelligence to become an engineer and instead you work for a falthu place) and they definitely understand the mental health issues and the friendship between the guys reminds them of their own friendships over the years
Also that song "give me some sunshine, give me some rain" like one day Martin's humming it and Jon's like is that???? and then Martin starts singing it and they do a little duet (martin was classically trained in rabindra Sangeet so he has a smooth velvety voice and jons is decent) and then it can become a super angsty call back in MAG 200
That's all I got!! Thanks for the ask!!

first theatre prod watched 🥹 LIVE

A collage of how I imagine GOT books! Oberyn Martell's fashions to be like
Oberyn is one of my fave GOT characters ( alongside Sansa, Jon Snow, Margaery, Olenna and several others ), and like I said, I keep drawing House Martell fashions in general with Al Andalus and Ancient Hindi fashion elements. So I imagine Oberyn's fashions in the GOT books with nods to the fashions of Maharajah Akbar and Saladin
#oberyn martell#dorne#got universe fashions#srsly i think akbar x jodha walked so oberyn x ellaria can run

dialogue's a bit sketchy, but injustice!clark and injustice!jay have such a hindi serial dynamic. like clark's not even homophobic, but he canNOT take some twink poisoning his son against him. and jay didn't even really poison anyone. he just told jon the truth. this is the father-in-law/son-in-law drama we need in our books. damian's out here jealous as shit he got replaced by an alternate version of superman's dead child, meanwhile jon is unclipping wings and takin lantern rings off my beloathed hal. it's so messy. i love it. LOVE IT!!!

Thinking about Sri Lankan Jon & Polish Martin thanks @cult-of-the-eye for that hc in lieu of the TikToks talking about how terrible British food is, especially the ones poking fun at the floppy chips and curry take away bags. Especially the questions about whether it's even hot food or only lukewarm and why everything looks so fried greasy yet limp.
Thinking about how much of their post good cow conversation consists of arguing over what food tastes best like...Martin remembers how he started tearing up from the smell alone when Jon brought level 7 vindaloo for lunch. Meanwhile, Jon says he likes the crunch and firm texture of Martin's pickles but they could use some herbs when Martin makes pickles with extra dill just for Jon as a birthday present.
After they part ways with Basira, they devolve into heated bickering after Martin confesses he likes the fish n chips shop a couple blocks from the rear entrance of the Institute and Jon goes on a wild rant about how the curry chips there isn't even curry.
"It's brown gravy, Martin! Brown gravy!!" Jon is speeding up, stomping a little as little clouds of dust declare the last steps he's made. "I looked in the back once when the guy was in the bathroom and they don't even have coriander! It's paprika! They add a tiny bit of paprika to change the color!"
Martin's stuck between defending a perfectly good junk meal and agreeing because it is just brown gravy but it's delicious and he likes looking at the way Jon's ears turn red when he's pissed and ranting.
"Well," Martin hedges, fighting to keep an open, earnest face, "it definitely tastes like most curries I've tried since I've moved to London."
He works hard to keep from bursting into giggles as Jon seems to grow an inch in his indignation, turning to face him in a manner that might be menacing if he hadn't watched the man stare down a lion fifteen hours or days or whatever time ago. Jon's face is thunderous and a couple of his extra eyes have open to glare alongside his original ones.
Then he breathes and settles.
"You have no right to judge." A playful smirk plays on Jon's face as the extra eyes fade away.
Martin raises a brow.
Jon glances at the space between them and takes a small step away.
"You think cabbage water is delicious."
Jon's barks a laughs and starts running, his bulky backpack slowing him down as Martin gasps, only half affronted at the jab over his cabbage rolls, and tries to tear after him, clacking as his camping kettle clatters and clanks again the small cooking pan tied to his own backpack.

[ad_1] Supratim Das for Mumbai City FC (PC: Supratim Das Insta) Before the current Indian Super League (ISL) season, Mumbai City FC signed 19-year-old midfielder Supratim Das from Reliance Foundation Young Champs on a three-year deal. A pivotal player for the Young Champs, Supratim helped them clinch the Sub-Junior I-League title in 2018-19 and secure a runner-up finish in the MFA Super Division League in 2022-23. His development also included exposure trips with RFYC to Spain (2017-2019) and Japan (2024) Although his opportunities with Mumbai City FC have been limited so far, Supratim shared his journey in an exclusive chat with RevSportz. He talked about his experiences, what he has learned, coach Petr Kratky, making his debut in front of Mumbai fans, favourite players, and Kolkata giants, among other topics. Excerpts: Q: How has been the experience so far to play for Mumbai City, limited but the experience of training regularly with top players, how is it? A: It is like dream come true for me. Any 19-year-old player would have only dreamt like this. Having training sessions and sharing the same pitch with experienced players like Jon Toral, Brandon Fernandes is a big experience that I am getting. I always try to learn and enjoy the game as much as possible from them. It has been great so far. Q: How has the transition been from RFYC to a senior team in ISL and how the professional methods at RFYC academy helped make the transition smooth? A: The academy has played a huge role so far. I came to Mumbai when I was 11-year-old. I was too little to know anything, did not know how to speak Hindi and English, coming from a middle-class family. Then, here, they took care, got my schooling, training and all facilities under good quality foreign coaches and discipline also. I was for eight years at the academy. So, it helped me strengthen my base, both football-wise and as a human being also. But when you talk about transition, obviously difference is there between an academy and a huge professional club like Mumbai City. However, football-wise, principles are quite similar and that has helped me get settled quickly. It has also helped me focus in more details and in strengthening my technical and tactical abilities. Honestly, there are many things I’m yet to learn but the academy has definitely helped in developing a strong base for me. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Supratim Das during his ISL debut vs Odisha FC (PC: Supratim Das Insta) Q: Can you elaborate on the experience of playing in Spain and Japan? A: These opportunities are very important for young and grassroot-level players. I went to Spain four times and Japan once. There is a huge difference in the Indian and foreign culture. When I played against big clubs like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, I got to know about their facilities, and how they train. They start from a very young age and that concept is yet to come in India. Our academy has already started to follow that concept by strengthening basics from a young age. If you see the European Leagues like La Liga and the Premier League, there are so many young players. Even if you do not reach that level despite having potential, these learnings should help you here. Q: Words on Petr Kratky, the one aspect of training at RFYC that helped you a lot to settle into Petr Kratky’s system at Mumbai City FC A: For a young player, a coach’s role is very crucial and he (Kratky) has been very supportive, whether it is in the training or off the pitch. He makes me feel at home. He sometimes gives feedbacks and points out the areas where I need to improve more. For any young player to grow, a healthy relationship with your coach is really pivotal. So, it has helped me settle in and I enjoy trainings under him. Q: How was the experience of making your ISL debut in front of the home crowd? A: At a very young age when I decided to become a professional footballer, just like every other young player, I had the dream of playing at the highest level.
It was a great experience and I was getting goosebumps. I think all young players should experience that feeling. The match (vs Odisha FC) was also very high intensity as we were tied at 1-1. Although, it was for a few minutes, but still, it motivates me and helps in boosting my confidence. I feel like that it has been a good start for me and motivates me to work even harder every day. Q: Your roots are from West Bengal. So, you are aware of the craze for East Bengal, Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting. Your views on the craze for the Kolkata giants. A: Obviously, Kolkata means East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, and Mohammedan Sporting. My family loves football and that has helped me a lot in generating the love and passion for this sport. Whenever a derby was there, a fight used to occur between my mother and father because my mother is a Mohun Bagan fan while my father is an East Bengal fan. It was difficult for me to choose one because of that. I have watched a few derbies from the stands also. So many fans (almost one lakh back then) watching the game. It motivated me more to get that kind of experience one day. Supratim Das during training sessions (PC: Supratim Das Insta) Q: But still as a fan, any of those two clubs that you supported back then? A: Then, I used to support my mother. I was inclined a bit towards Mohun Bagan. Q: Favourite player or midfielder for you from India and overall? And why? A: As I play as an attacking midfielder, I love Sahal Abdul Samad. He is very creative and calm on the ball. So, I like his playing style. I also like Brandon, my teammate also. He is a great individual to look up to, be it technical or tactical quality. So, I am very happy to share the pitch with him and observing him closely. One of my aspects has been being the set-piece specialist and if you see Brandon, he is the current set-piece specialist for India and Mumbai City. So, that has been a big learning for me in order to enhance that aspect. Q: Words on Chhangte? His work ethics and all, inspirational? A: When I was at the academy, my father always used to tell me to look up to Chhangte and now, after two years, I am in the same team with him. He is a top professional and there are many things that you can learn from him. See, behind a performance on the pitch, a lot of hard work and discipline are there, and Chhangte is the best example. A true inspiration for young players, especially like me. He is very disciplined, humble and helpful. Q: The ultimate dream; donning that Indian jersey? A: Absolutely. For any player, it is a dream to don that national team jersey, representing your country at the highest level. So, let us see. Q: Final question. Any foreign club that you follow passionately? A: Manchester City. Recently, it has been tough but they will come back.
