Guys!!! Omg I need y'all to stop whatever your doing and look at this!!!! The Higurashi Shrine is a real freaking place!!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I knew that some animes like to base their settings off of real locations in Japan, but I have NEVER seen anybody talk about how the Higurashi's Shrine in Inuyasha was also based on a real Higurashi Shrine in Japan, so I thought it was totally fictional.
Here's the link to the page if anyone wants to see the full Higurashi Shrine article. It's in Chinese btw so you'll have to Google translate it.

Posts you could kiss on the mouth
Do you know if anyone has a layout of Higurashi shrine? Including the layout of Kagome's house (like where the rooms are), where each building is, and where the sacred tree and well are relative to everything else? I'm having a super hard time finding it on google images and I just have NO idea where anything is located :(
I have ONE good picture I saved on my computer a while ago while rewatching the series and I think it could it help you:
Tumblr media
I think you can see well the layout of the shrine like this :) (the sacred tree is the big one on the left) I don’t have any for the inside of Kagome’s house though :/ I hope this still helps!

Silver and Gold by @splendentgoddess (E)
Christmas Eve is a time to celebrate family, love, and togetherness. Not something Kagome gets a lot of while trying to stop Naraku. But everyone deserves the occasional night off, right? Takes place during manga chapter 512.

Apple Pie and Mistletoe by @ruddcatha (M)
Called out of town unexpectedly for work just before Christmas, Inuyasha Takahashi asks his best friend Kagome, whom he's secretly loved for years, to house sit. When a storm grounds his plane, will the two friends admit their feelings, or continue to stay silent? What role does Apple Pie and Mistletoe play in what is about to unfold?

'Tis The Damn Season by @akitokihojo (T)
Best friends, to nothing, to one of them putting every ounce of their effort into avoiding the other. Christmas was supposed to be about visiting her family, but Kagome noticed the snow on the ground wasn't the reason an icy feeling crept down her back. Her childhood best friend, and neighbor, was home for the holidays as well. Turns out, being an adult doesn't help you escape from messy assumptions and the repercussions of being too scared to go after what you really want. For either of them.

A Piece of Home by omgitscharlie (E)
At winter's first snowfall, Kagome finds herself reminiscing about Christmas back in her time.

Mistletoe: Inuyasha by masterhiccup (K+)
Christmas in a remote cabin? Check. Best friends trying to play matchmaker? Check. Stunning girl that makes your heart go pitter patter despite constant, inward disapproval? Double check. Oh man, Inuyasha was in for one hell of a ride from the very beginning. How was he going to make it through the holidays if he could hardly handle the Hallmark movie he was currently living?

Everything But The Pear Tree by @fandomobsessions016 (E)
After going through a rough break-up, Kagome decides she's going to pull herself out of her slump by diving head first into holiday preparations. With her friend Sango and the help of her new neighbor, Inuyasha, Kagome is reminded why the holidays are so special to her.

The Best Present by @fawn-eyed-girl (T)
Inuyasha helps Kagome bring a Christmas tree home to the Higurashi shrine. Kagome tells Inuyasha about the traditions of Christmas Eve, and he gives her a special gift.

Slipped by @witchygirl99 (E)
“I was worried it’d be more of a sex thing.” A sex thing. Inuyasha makes a face at the ceiling. God, why does Miroku say shit like that? “Yeah, well,” he grouses, grabbing at his cell phone so that he can look his friend in the eye. “Give me some fucking credit. I’m trying not to fall in love with her.”
Miroku looks, in that moment, far too smug. “And how’s that going for you?”
“Fuck you,” comes his automatic response, a knee-jerk reaction. Begrudgingly, unhappily, Inuyasha sighs his next admission. “Not great.” Inuyasha has a life plan that is viciously, cheerfully and quickly dismantled the moment he becomes temporary roommates with one Kagome Higurashi. Unsurprisingly, this is all Miroku's fault.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by FrameOfMind (T)
AU. God, how he hated Christmas carols. Now, if someone would only think to write one about the overcrowded shopping malls and the sticky pine needles and the damn Salvation Army, that would be the Christmas carol for him...

Secret Santa (series) by @splendentgoddess (E)
In a modern world where most youkai stick to the wilds, hanyou are stuck in the middle, forced to live in human society. Inuyasha has an okay job and okay coworkers, but he's lonely, until one year when the office Christmas party changes everything.
--
If You Dare by @fawn-eyed-girl (E)
Inuyasha hates Christmas, and looks forward to spending it alone. Kagome loves Christmas, and is devastated that she has to spend it alone. She decides to leave a notebook in the stacks at a bookstore, in hopes of making a special connection. When Inuyasha finds it, does he dare take her challenge? And will she dare to accept his Commissioned Artwork by Clearwillow

Skeins and Schemes by @cannibalsforbreakfast (G)
Inuyasha didn’t understand why she was insisting she needed to go back to her time, because this time last year Kagome had said her school was on “ho-li-day” and that there were no classes. She’d tried to put Inuyasha off with excuses — she had a makeup exam, her school had changed its schedule — but she could tell he didn’t believe her. Because how could she tell Inuyasha that she needed to go back to her time to make him a Christmas present?

No Matter The Storm by @lavendertwilight89 (T)
Kagome gets taken and Inuyasha comes to save her but the can't outrun the winter storm. Trapped in a cave, what could happen?
--
Ego & Bias by hoshi-ni-onegai (T)
Sometimes, first impressions are everything and Inuyasha wasn't winning any contests. While attending a holiday party, Kagome runs into a guy who grates her nerves like no one has before. AU.

Christmas Traditions by @ideasthatbuildcities (G)
It's Christmas time and Kagome is eager to start sharing with her daughter the Christmas traditions she used to do with her mother. She only hopes Moroha would like to be as involved as Kagome wants her to be. Inuyasha is helping in his own way. [InuKag Family Christmas fluff for ruddcatha for the 2020 Inuyasha Fandom Secret Santa on Tumblr]

Twisted Desire Part Two
Summary: If Kagome knew accepting the role at Jujutsu High would come with two yandere students, she would have stayed at her old job. Too bad for her, once Satoru and Suguru put their mind to something, everyone bends to their will. Even Higurashi-sensei.
Pairing: SatoruxKagomexSuguru
Read Part One
"Suguru, this is Higurashi Kagome, the new teacher here. I hope you make her feel more welcome than Satoru did," Yaga says, shaking his head.
The classroom is one of the many empty rooms at Jujutsu High, but judging from the boxes on the desk, this must be Kagome's new space.
"It's nice to meet you, Suguru," Kagome greets. Her black hair is pulled back into a low ponytail, with a couple of strands curling over her ears. Her eyes are brown and warm. There's something doe like about them. An innocence he wants to corrupt. Suguru wets his lips.
He wants to kiss her. Her lips are so pink and full. Every inch of her calls to him. From the gentle slope of her neck to the hint of cleavage that peeks through the white blouse when she bows. He wants her.
"Suguru," Yaga warns, narrowing his eyes at him.
Oh... right. Suguru clears his throat and then bows. "Nice to meet you, Higurashi-sensei. Geto Suguru." He eyes her calves. Imagines how her legs would look over his shoulder while he fucks her. He'd have to be gentle with her. She's so small compared to him and so damn naïve looking that she might fall over at the slightest provocation.
His lip curls up as he straightens himself. "Love the color blue." And he loves the way the black skirt stretches across her hips.
Kagome glances at her feet. "It is a pretty color." She looks over at Yaga and then at Suguru. "So, we have a mission together. Would you like to get going now?"
Why do they have a mission together? He doesn't need to learn how to work with a team like Satoru had to. Or how to foster a relationship. And surely, she isn't going to fight while wearing a skirt and open-toe heels?
"Sure, we can get going," he answers. Unlike Satoru, he knows how to play this cool.
"Are you packed? It may take a while."
Suguru narrows his eyes. "You're doing the countryside mission with me?"
"I thought it would be good to have Kagome-san go with you," Yaga says, rubbing the back of his neck as he tilts it to the side. "Got some more information on it and the villagers are on edge. Frantic even. Kagome-san is good at putting others at ease."
Kagome nods. "I grew up on a shrine. Lots of people came through with odd requests and particular personalities."
Suguru swallows. A mission with Kagome alone is one thing, but one that may last longer than a day is another ballpark. Sure, this may be their first meeting, but he doesn't need any other encounters to know Kagome is his. He feels it deep in his bones. Feels it in his spirit. She's meant to be his. Meant to be in his life.
He nods his head and jerks his thumb towards the door behind him. "I just need to grab my bag, and I'll meet you at the car."
He hightails it out of there before he does or says something he might regret. He needs to play this cool—he can play this cool. Satoru mentioned how wary Kagome was of him, though honestly, he doesn't blame her, not when Satoru is so... not subtle. And now that Suguru has gotten to see Kagome in all her beauty... well, shit, maybe he can't play this cool.
He runs to his dorm room and grabs his bag. Truthfully, he spends more time on campus than he does at his apartment. Maybe he should get rid of it and spend his money on something else. Suguru tugs at his jacket as he makes his way out of the dorm building and outside to where the manager is waiting for him. Something grabs hold of him and strangles his throat.
How dare that poor excuse of a sorcerer talk to Kagome. How dare he make her laugh. Suguru grits his teeth as he approaches. Kagome stops mid-laugh and stares at him. Can she feel it? Feel the murderous thoughts swelling in his gut?
"Ready to go?" she asks.
"All set," he replies, glancing away to look at the manager. Suguru blinks. What an unremarkable, forgettable face. "Do you mind sitting in the back with me? I get car sick sometimes."
The manager opens his mouth and promptly closes it. He turns his head and then hurries into the driver's seat.
Yeah, that's what he thought. Suguru smiles at Kagome. Maybe they can stretch the mission out for two or three days? He folds his body into the backseat so his head rests near her lap. It's a bit uncomfortable, but the smell of her perfume makes it better.
Kagome yawns and crosses her legs. "Kiyotaka, when we get to the village, you don't have to stay."
Kiyotaka? Oh, Ijichi, the piss-ass sorcerer who Satoru told to just be a driver instead. Suguru sighs and pretends as if the drive is making him sick. Kagome laughs at something Ijichi says. Suguru's stomach churns. Well, something is making him sick to his stomach, and it is not the drive.
When they arrive at the village, way up in the mountains, and so far out that his phone service is wonky, Suguru takes the lead. The sky darkens overhead. It took far too long to drive out here. How anyone finds this place is a mystery. This village is out in the middle of nowhere. He grabs their bags from the trunk and slams the driver's door shut. There's a yelp, but he waves it off. Ijichi should have moved his leg faster. Kagome frowns, but Suguru steps in front of her.
"Let's go," he says with a serene smile on his face. "Need to put these villagers at ease."
"Um, okay." Kagome bites her lip, worrying it between her teeth. She holds out a hand for her yellow backpack, which he reluctantly hands over. The moment she turns around to head towards the inn, Suguru throws a glare over his shoulder. Ijichi shrinks in the chair and pushes his large glasses up his nose.
For Ijichi's sake, Suguru hopes he doesn't seriously think he has a shot with Kagome. He wipes his face clear of any discomfort and goes for calm. The villagers here are jumpy, and he doesn't want to set them off. Kagome heads to the front desk and introduces them.
"We only have one room available," the woman says from behind the counter. The hotel, if it could be called that, is old and worn down. The light overhead flickers. He senses a couple of curses in the area. Typically, the curses in the countryside are much weaker than those in the city. The negative emotions must be at an all-time high in this village.
"That's fine," Kagome says with a sigh. She fidgets with the strap of her bookbag. Suguru glances at her legs, admiring the shape of them. The chances of them being wrapped around his waist tonight are slim, but he's always been up for a challenge.
"It only has one bed," the woman says as she pulls out a key. "Really sorry about that. The other rooms aren't in working condition because of the troubles we have experienced, and we were only expecting one person to come out." The last part comes out bitter, as if the woman is offended that Kagome and he will be sharing a room.
"That's fine," Kagome repeats. "Just give us some extra bedding and I can sleep on the floor."
"What?" Suguru scoffs. "You aren't sleeping on the floor."
Kagome glances at him and then looks away. Did she just dismiss him? He grits his teeth. No fucking way is she sleeping on the floor when there is a bed they can both sleep in.
"Tell me about these troubles you have been having. When did it begin?"
"Oh, well, it started when those monsters were born. Perhaps when they were conceived, even." The woman leads them down the corridor, past the other rooms until they reach the one at the far end. "Every bad thing happens when they are around. It's far too late now, but tomorrow, someone can show you those things. Please get rid of them. We thought of it, but..." She huffs as she hands over the key. "But killing another is a bit much. We aren't like them, you see. We don't wish ill."
"Right," Kagome says. "So, when you say them, are you referring to another human?"
The woman balks. "If they could be considered as such. They may wear the same skin as us, but they are monsters." She holds a hand to her forehead. "I just can't bear to think about this any further. Someone else will take you to them in the morning. I cannot do it. Sleep will be evasive once more."
Kagome flashes a smile and touches the woman's arm. Her hand glows, but the woman doesn't seem to notice. "I understand. You get your rest. We will look into this further in the morning when tensions are not as high." She waits until the woman leaves to unlock the door. Once inside, Kagome turns to him. "I am sleeping on the floor, Suguru. It is only right."
He opens his mouth to argue. The bed is big enough for the both of them... okay, it would be a tight fit with both of them in the bed, but what's a little cuddling between future lovers? And the floor is tatami mats. The bed would be better on her back.
"Respectfully, I am not asking your opinion on this." Kagome tilts her head to the side and smiles. "Forgive me."
Suguru closes his mouth and smiles tightly. He inhales, trying desperately to dislodge the discomfort from his chest. Boundaries. She's establishing boundaries, and he hates it. If he presses too hard, then she might slip out of his grasp.
Patience, he reminds himself. Just be a little patient.
The next morning, Kagome is up before him. He hates the way Kagome waits outside of the room for him to change. He hates the way she rushes through breakfast and only gives him shallow answers.
"How did you hone your skills?"
"The same as everyone else. Practice."
"What made you decide to work as a sorcerer?"
"Yaga scouted me."
"What about teaching? You're new to Jujutsu. What qualifies you to teach it?"
"There was an opening."
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"So, you're a special grade like Satoru? That's neat. We should meet with the village leader sooner than later."
He especially hates the way she smiles at the village leader or how the other males stop what they are doing to look at her. He hates the grief-stricken expression on her face when they discover the monsters are two young girls locked inside a cage like dogs.
But he loves the way her arms wrap around him and the way she murmurs in his ears.
"It's going to be okay, Suguru. I'll ensure it. You can always come to me for help."
Maybe it's wrong or maybe it's right, but her words embed themselves in his brain and wrap around his heart like a vice. Kagome will be his, and if he has to kill a couple of monkeys, so be it.
For some reason, Kagome keeps going on dates. He doesn't understand why. The twins, Mimiko and Nanako, call her mama. Even Megumi and Tsumiki slip up and call her mama, so why is she still entertaining non-sorcerers? More importantly, why is she downplaying their relationship?
Try as she might, he'll never see her as his teacher. So, when Satoru calls him, while he's in the middle of stalking—checking on Kagome during her date, to instruct him to bring Kagome to his apartment, Suguru puts his plan to get rid of Kagome's latest date on the back burner.
Some things can wait. Making Kagome his—theirs, cannot.
Which brings him to the present. Why is she still fighting this?
"So, this is how it's going to go, sweetheart," Suguru says, slicing the apple. Kagome glares at him, but it is hard to take her seriously when she is dressed down in Satoru's shirt and he knows she isn't wearing underwear. "Excuse me, Higurashi-sensei," he coos, lifting the apple slice to his lips. "You got two options. You're with us." He chews the slice and then leans back in the chair. They're gonna need a bigger apartment. Not that Satoru's place isn't nice, but Suguru is already feeling cramped in the kitchen. "Or you're with us. Feel free to choose the option you like best." He smiles.
"How about neither?" Kagome tugs at the shirt, pulling it down, but the movement only draws his attention to her thighs. She's bare underneath.
"Wrong answer," Satoru says, pulling out a chair. He slides the cup of coffee Kagome's way. "I thought you were smarter than that? You know we can't go back to how things were." He smirks at her and then frowns when Kagome doesn't look his way. Suguru chews the apple slice slowly as he thinks.
They must have not fucked her hard enough if she still has an attitude. His cock is heavy and ready to be inside of her once more.
Kagome stares at the coffee and then pushes it away. "We can and we will. There was something wrong with your bathroom." Kagome lifts her head and stares at Suguru. "Did you put a curse in there?"
"Is it that hard to admit you are attracted to us?" Suguru asks, slicing another apple slice for himself. He stares at it and then at Kagome. "It's missing honey."
Kagome stands and pushes the chair in. "Unbelievable," she mutters.
"Whoa, where are you going?" Satoru asks, grabbing her arm. "You can't leave. We got the whole weekend to enjoy."
"I am not spending my weekend with you and Suguru. This was wildly inappropriate and—"
"No one would believe you, sweetheart. Sit down." Suguru motions to the chair with the knife. "I gave you two options. Choose." It's cute how Kagome thinks she has a choice in this. No, the choice was made when he first saw her. Kagome is the only reason he's still at Jujutsu High. The only light keeping him going. And she thinks she can just walk away from this?
From him?
"Fuck you."
His eyes darken. "Sit down."
Kagome glares at him and then at Satoru's hand on her arm. Suguru tenses. What is she—
"Shit!" Satoru grips the back of Kagome's head and kisses her. Suguru drops the apple and the knife on the floor. What the hell? What did Kagome do to set Satoru off? Kagome pushes back against Satoru and there's a pink light between them. Satoru grinds against her, stopping long enough to push the cups off the table.
Crash.
Satoru sends the chairs flying across the room, too. The hell is going on with him?
Suguru scoots back, giving Satoru some room. Did Kagome try to hurt Satoru? Probably. But she must know that unless she can get through infinity, it is all pointless.
"Satoru, stop it," Kagome grounds out. Her breath is uneven. Her hands grip the edge of the table. "The hell is wrong with you?"
"Me?" Satoru breathes. "The hell did you do to me?" He grips his white shirt. His eyes are blown. Suguru wets his lips and leans forward.
"I didn't do shit to you. You kissed me out of nowhere."
"Oh, don't do that Higurashi-sensei," Satoru says, mocking her. "You sent that little zap at me and then you hit me with more of it. You know exactly what you did." He drops his hand and unfurls his cock from his gray sweatpants. "This what you want? Hm? All you gotta do is ask."
Suguru narrows his eyes. So that attack hit Satoru? Or is he letting her through his infinity? Even still, why would Satoru willingly let her attack him?
"I want to go home. Now." Kagome looks away, but her cheeks are stained pink, and she squirms ever so slightly. The toxin should be out of her system by now... unless she wants them. Suguru covers his mouth with his hand and smiles. Oh, Kagome. Sweet Higurashi-sensei, trying so hard to keep her walls intact. "I was trying to push you away, not..." She blows out a breath. "Put it away."
"Fucking can't," Satoru complains, fisting his cock. "C'mere."
"Fuck you."
"Please Higurashi-sensei. Ya did something to me. Going crazy here," Satoru pleads. The change gives Suguru whiplash. Since when does Satoru plead for anything?
Kagome falters. "It's not supposed to turn you on." She glances at Suguru and then quickly looks away. "Are you a masochist?"
"I'm whatever you want me to be," Satoru replies, stalking forward. He plants his hands on the table and leans forward. "You smell so nice. Smell like us. Open up for me," he breathes near her ear. "Let me in. We know you want to. Stop fighting us."
Suguru's nostrils flare as Kagome spreads her lush thighs. There it is. He watches transfixed as Satoru slides a finger inside of her, followed by another. Kagome shudders as she wraps her arms around Satoru's neck. He needs a better look. Suguru moves to stand when Satoru turns his head and curls his lips up. Suguru narrows his eyes as he sits back down. Satoru is so damn greedy.
"Easy there," Satoru says with a chuckle. "You want to see how beautiful she is?" He pulls back and slides his fingers into his mouth. "Baby, you taste so good." He groans as he continues to suck his fingers.
"Satoru," Suguru says tensely. Not only does he have to wrangle Satoru in during missions, but now he's gonna have to do the same when it comes to Kagome.
"Sorry, sorry." Satoru laughs and lifts Kagome, setting her on the table, and turning her around to face Suguru. For a brief moment, Kagome looks as though she wants to fight this.
Fight them.
Suguru leans back in the chair and pulls his cock out. Just the sight of her, legs spread open, and glistening with need, has him hard. He grips his cock and strokes up and down, almost languid-like, while he eyes her cunt. His mouth waters.
"Do it to Suguru," Satoru says, brushing Kagome's hair to the side. He presses a kiss along the column of her neck.
"Do what?"
"Zap him or whatever the hell you did to me. Wanna see somethin." He fondles her breasts through the shirt. "Or shit, do it to me again."
"It's not supposed to turn you on." Kagome bites her bottom lip as her eyes flutter shut. "Satoru, stop. I can't—"
"I think you can. Go on, do it to Suguru."
Kagome exhales and stares at him. It's the only invite he needs. Suguru stands and plants his hands on the table, leaning forward just enough so she can touch him. This table is truly inconvenient. The bed would be better, though there is something about seeing her on a pedestal. If only she would submit to them. He's dreamed of worshipping her so many nights, but Kagome is so damn insufferable with this whole boundaries thing.
Kagome reaches for his hand and for a moment, it occurs to him that if this has an opposite effect on him and hurts as she intended it to with Satoru, then he may actually be in danger. The thought flutters away as quickly as it came. Despite how angry Kagome may be with them, she wouldn't resort to any lasting effects. Maybe. Hopefully. Is he truly that far gone?
"This isn't supposed to feel good," Kagome says.
Suguru's mouth curls up into a smirk. When she says it like that, it only makes him more curious. "Are you worried about me?"
"No." Her eyes harden as her hand glows.
He barks out a laugh. "Liar. You can admit you—fuck!" Suguru pulls her forward and swallows the yelp that bursts from her throat. Unlike with Satoru, Kagome does not push him away. Did she hope for this? Suguru groans as he kisses her harder. His tongue battles with hers for dominance. Why she bothers putting up a fight is beyond him. "Again," he commands. "Do that again."
Kagome places her hands on his chest, gripping the soft cotton fabric of his black shirt. "Seriously, what the hell is wrong with both of you? It's not supposed to feel good." Her brows pinch together. "Does it only affect sorcerers like this?" the last part, she mutters to herself.
"There will be no others," Suguru says, slowly through clenched teeth.
"Others?" Satoru questions. "Fuck that. We ain't sharing."
Kagome scoffs. "Sharing? I'm not with either of you. Let me down." She shakes her head and pushes against him. Suguru quirks a brow. Physically, Kagome is... weak. Her purification does not fortify her body in the same way cursed energy does. "Suguru. Move."
"I like it right here." He tilts his head to the side. "But you're right. The bed would be much better than the kitchen table."
"I am not sleeping with you or you." She glares at Satoru. "Again."
"Man, you're still keeping this up?" Satoru rubs the back of his head. "And here I was gonna be nice and take ya out shopping."
Kagome presses her lips together. She looks as though she wants to throttle Satoru. Probably wants to hit him too. Suguru holds out a hand and smiles at her when she scowls.
"Instead of shopping, maybe we should look at a bigger apartment. This is far too small for the three of us." Suguru sighs. And his apartment is even smaller than Satoru's. It's on the tip of his tongue to suggest a house so the kids could live with them too... but then they wouldn't have access to Kagome as much as they would like. He presses his lips together and mulls over the idea.
She'd be less likely to leave and even if she attempts it, it will be harder to leave with four kids.
"You two are insane. I'm not doing this." Kagome hops off the table and pulls the shirt down.
"Wait." Suguru wraps his fingers around her wrist. "I have a question."
Kagome sighs. "Get on with it."
"Are you ovulating?"
She jerks her hand free. "Unbelievable. I'm not doing this." She heads to leave, but Satoru leans against the wall with his cock still out. "Move."
"Or what? You're gonna zap me again?" Satoru grabs his cock and tugs his hand up and down, squeezing the head. "You're fighting a losing battle here. We aren't giving you up."
She crosses her arms. "Yaga won't—"
"Yaga will be a dead man," Suguru says smoothly. "Try again."
"You wouldn't."
"All it takes is one accident," Suguru says, wrapping his arms around her. He inhales. She smells so good. "Do you want his blood on your hands? Is that it?" He tightens his hands around her and grinds against her back. He slides his hands down and lifts the shirt up. Kagome grunts, but when he dips his fingers between her lips, she gasps. "She's so fucking wet," Suguru says to Satoru. "Think she likes it."
"Oho?" Satoru chuckles. "Bend her over the table. Can't make it to the bed."
The bedroom isn't far, but Suguru obliges. He walks them back with his fingers still stroking her. If he lets up, she'll try to fight this again.
"Wait—"
"I'm done waiting," Suguru says, pushing down on her back. "You want it hard or soft?" He says that, but he's not too sure he can be gentle with her right now. Maybe if he fucks her hard enough, it'll loosen a barrier or two. Get her to see reason. He grabs her arms and pins them behind her back with one hand. "Turn your head and look at Satoru."
She hesitates, but does as he says.
Good. That's his girl. She's getting there.
Satoru grabs a chair and pulls it close to the table. He sits down and spreads his legs. Strange how seeing Satoru stroking his cock spurs Suguru on instead of eliciting feelings of jealousy or possessiveness. Satoru is his as much as Kagome is his.
"What are you doing?" Kagome asks, her voice rising.
"Just taking a picture," Satoru replies, "pull her hair. Yeahhh, just like that."
"Mmm, take a video, too. Wanna hear her calling out my name." Suguru glances down as he enters her. He has to bend his knees, but that's fine. He likes how small she is compared to him. Likes how he can manhandle her. He grips her hair tighter and pulls. No, he can't be gentle with her. Not when the feel of her energy is still under his skin, fanning the flames of desire building in his balls.
Not when, just yesterday, she was on yet another date.
"Gonna imprint this dick on your walls," he whispers harshly in her ear. She tightens around him. Fuck. "You like that, huh? What a fucking tease."
"Suguru," she moans, pushing back against him. "Just shut up and fuck me."
He chortles. "You get that Satoru? Don't wanna hear her shit when we get done."
"Oh yeah, I got it." Satoru sets the phone on the table and strokes his cock. "No backtracking, Kagome. You are a woman of your word, right?" he coos.
"Screw you."
"In a moment. I'm working on that teamwork you're always going on about."
Suguru closes his eyes, getting lost in the moment. Kagome is so warm and soft, and the way she grips him is ecstasy. If he could, he'd live in her skin and never leave. Needs to be on her, in her... shit, he just wants to be around her. Wants to be in her orbit. He drops her arms in favor of gripping her hips.
"Suguru!"
His name sounds so wonderful on her lips. He bites his lip as he stares at how her ass jiggles every time he thrusts into her. The table shakes. Now he sees the appeal of why Satoru wanted Kagome bent over the table. There's something about the sound of the table legs scrapping on the floor. The way her breath catches and how desperately she tries to hold on to something, but her fingers slip along the wood, never quite grabbing hold of the edge of the table.
"Hurry it up, Suguru," Satoru says lowly. Suguru huffs, the only sound he can manage, and ignores Satoru's demands. He will wait. This is Suguru's time.
"What happened to being patient?" Suguru slides a hand between Kagome and the table. He toys with her clit, inwardly preening at how she squeals. His balls tighten. Damn, he's not going to last long. "Gonna fill this pussy up."
Kagome moans. She tries to run from him, but there's nowhere for her to go. "Pull out."
Suguru rolls his eyes. "I'll do my best, Higurashi-sensei." Yeah, fuck that. He's not pulling out. Suguru slides his hand up and cradles her stomach. She's never leaving him. Shit, he wants to see her face when she comes.
"What are—oh!" Kagome throws her head back.
Much better. Suguru grabs her chin and kisses her. She winces as he slams into her. The table creaks. Satoru drums his fingers on the table and glowers at him.
"Suguru, pull out," Kagome says.
He nips her lip and then kisses her cheek. "Forgive me," he says.
"Suguru!"
He sighs as he gives her everything he has. His head drops, resting on her shoulder. "I think I love you."
"What?" Kagome jerks back, but with her ass suspended in the air and his cock still inside her, it only makes him want to go another round.
"Ass over here," Satoru says, drawing their attention. Suguru huffs and lifts Kagome, lowering her onto Satoru's cock since he's a thoughtful guy and all. "Damn, you feel like a dream. Suguru, get my phone."
Suguru rolls his eyes at how bossy Satoru is, but grabs the phone. It is only fair, since Satoru recorded him and Kagome. His cock twitches between his legs. There is something about recording Satoru fucking Kagome. He eyes Satoru's large hands, squeezing Kagome's tits through the shirt. The way Kagome's eyes roll back and how utterly fucked out she looks.
He needs more.
"Baby, how do you feel so good?" Satoru asks in awe. "Come on, say you'll stay the weekend."
"I'm not—"
"We'd be so good together." Satoru drops his hands and grips Kagome's hips. He bounces her on his cock. "Say it."
Suguru tugs on his cock, making eye contact with Kagome. Her breath hitches. "Say it," he commands, backing Satoru up. They are the strongest duo, after all. Why Kagome thinks she has a chance of standing against them is laughable.
Satoru groans. He slows his thrusts down and pinches Kagome's clit. "Say it."
"FUCK! I'll stay," Kagome sobs.
She likes pain.
Suguru smiles as he approaches. He kisses her, swallowing her moans while Satoru pistons his hips, fucking Kagome through his orgasm. She slumps back into Satoru's arms. Her breathing is hard. Her bangs are plastered to her forehead. Suguru brushes his own back and then brushes his knuckles down her cheek. Kagome swallows and turns her head.
"Kagome."
She sighs and turns to look at him. Satoru's hands slide back up her body and idly play with her tits. "Yes, Suguru?"
He smiles. "Who were you with last night?"
***
A/N: Hope you are having an awesome Sunday!
"Will the higher-ups approve or disapprove of their actions?" - Disapprove because they want to control Satoru and Suguru and the two are becoming more unhinged. Not much they can really do about it though.
"Were they matchmaking them?" - No, but the higher-ups are always hoping that someone will be able to keep Satoru and Suguru in line. Yaga does a little.
Hopefully, this was unhinged enough for everyone lol. Next update will probably be over the weekend. Leaning towards Brat Tamer. Take care! Get some rest and drink plenty of water. Stay safe!

Trashahime Rewrite: Forest Deep version
When Towa is four and Airi is six, time portals leading to the modern era began to appear randomly and it swept them away.
(Potentially caused by Kirinmaru in the modern era by messing with the sacred tree) but he has an extreme makeover so he doesn’t look like the dollar store version of Takemaru of Setsuna.)
Seeing the sacred tree in the distance, the pair of sisters make their way to it, recognizing it, but are unable to find their way home and are instead taken in by Sota Higurashi- only to encounter their mother, Irene, like two years later when she is only nineteen years old and about to make her journey back to the Feudal Era after being gone for two and a half months. Despite her younger appearance, her scent is the same, and so is her gentleness and warmth, and Towa clings to that memory of young short-haired Irene for the next decade. Maria stays behind to help Sota and his wife look after them, as they are obviously her little sister's future children.
Maria soon encounters an older Koga, who had survived to the modern era by blending in, and is reunited with her precious wolf, Saun, who has grown old with age and has weary bones.
Back in the Feudal Era, six years after Towa and Airi disappear, a moth demoness, Mayonaka, awakens from her restorative slumber within her cocoon, having suffered terrible injuries over fifty years prior from a war that took place in her territory.
(Her name means "Midnight", and she is a relative of Gatenmaru and Garamaru, but unlike either of them she is a daiyokai)
She's been obsessed with Sesshomaru for over a century, and has always been frustrated that he never once looked her way, but upon awakening learns that not only has Sesshomaru has become a daiyokai... but he has also taken Irene, a mortal, for a wife.
Mayonaka is enraged, and sends her minions after Irene in hopes of getting rid of her, but this does little to deter the human, experienced in the ways of battle with her Shikigami, and having InuKag as neighbors and MirSan as friends. And, not to mention, anytime Sesshomaru discovered demons heading for the village with ill intent, he slaughtered them, as he visits fairly frequently to check on his wife and help look after their children- because he is a father who helps with raising his kids.
After two years of zero results, Mayonaka decides she has to take matters into her own hands and curses Irene.
It was a simple curse really, Mayonaka having some of her little moths spread some dust onto her kimonos while they were hanging out to dry, and it started off with just nightmares. It would make it difficult for Irene to sleep, each nightmare growing more and more horrific and taking a toll on her health, but as days to weeks to months go by she is getting noticeably worse, as the nightmares slowly begin leaking poison into her soul. Eventually, she becomes so ill from the curse that she begins spitting/coughing blood until she collapses, falling comatose.
Time continues to pass, but her body grows weaker and weaker. When the Shikigami spirits sense she’s on the brink of death, they combine their powers to cast a spell, placing her in stasis at thirty-five years of age so she would not take her final breath.
Her body is placed in a shrine within Mount Ryosozan, where Tatsunori, her dragon spirit, once lived as a highly respected Kami. The air there is very clean and pure, and will hide her scent. Sora, the eldest child, stands guard, protecting her mother’s resting body at only fifteen years old while Sesshomaru continues to search for who cursed his beloved.
For the next four years, Irene would remain asleep, and Mayonaka will be taking delight in sending Sesshomaru on a wild goosechase trying and failing to find her. All the while, demons have been going missing- swept away by the time portals into the modern era, and Maria, a much older Koga, Hakkaku, and Ginta, and the descendants of the Kururugi Shrine, work together to take care of these threats. They also train Towa in swordsmanship and martial arts, and Airi in the art of Shikigami and archery- as Airi's human blood and connection to spirits is much stronger than Towa's, who has a stronger connection to their demon side.
Shortly after Towa turns fourteen and Airi sixteen, shenanigans happen that get them sent into the Feudal Era. Potentially separated, with Towa being found by Rin and Kohaku (both of whom had viewed Irene as a mother figure, and have met Irene when she was short-haired and see Towa's resemblance to her) while Airi is found by Kin'u and Gyokuto, who note she has round eyes- much like a foreigner- and decide to take her to the village.
Later, after being reunited, it turns dark and Towa becomes human, as it is the fifth night of the month.
Towa resembles Irene the most in appearance, despite Airi having their mother’s eyes, and Kaede comments on this- especially when seeing Towa in human form. Towa asks why her biological parents aren't around if they're still alive, and Kaede informs her that her mother was cursed, and that her father is on a hell-mission trying to find the one who cursed her so he can kill them.
Towa: "She's cursed? So... does that mean she's nearby somewhere? Can we meet her?"
"That... is a question you need to take up with your sister."
"Shion?"
"Sorano." *Kaede smiles* "One of your older sisters. She is protecting her. Ah, but I do not know where you can find her. Perhaps you should speak to one of your OTHER siblings to find out. Shion, being so young, was not given the knowledge of your mother's location- as she was even younger when sweet Irene was put to sleep. Your great demon father could not risk her being found by his enemies, you see... or by the one who cursed her."
Kaede is aware that Irene was cursed and put into stasis to save her life. She also knows that the eldest child, Sora, is protecting her. But she knows not where they are, only what is being done, and if they wish to meet their mother they must first find Sora- and to do that, they must find Hikaru or Akane, for they surely know of her whereabouts.
InuKag and MirSan know where Akane at least can be found, but state that she never leaves the village and is almost never seen by anyone except her parents, siblings, and spouse. As relatives, they might have a good chance of getting into the Kururugi Shrine to see her… but the villagers are very protective of Akane as they view her as a benevolent saintess/kami, due to when Sesshomaru and Inuyasha helped Irene defeat Anastasia.
Gyokuto, a demon slayer like her mother, brother, and uncle, finds out the girls want to find Akane, so she goes with them because she wants to see Hikaru and because she’s annoyed Hisui is getting all the fun of traveling without her. They discover him lounging about in the valley and he takes them to see Akane, though only Towa, Airi, Shion, and Hikaru himself are allowed inside the shrine where she stays.
Akane reluctantly tells them about Mount Ryosozan, but that it is dangerous to visit. Still, Towa and Airi want to see Irene. They have only one recent memory of her- of when they were children and had only been in the modern era for a short time before Irene, at 19 years old, appeared to try and go back to the Feudal Era. Towa wants to see her again.
Towa and Airi want to help the mother who they remember had looked after them so kindly and gently, even when she didn't know who they were. They hold on to that one day so strongly, and to the photo they were given of her, and to the storybook of the Celestial Prince and his Stolen Love that their Uncle Sota read to them so often when they were small, as it told the (albeit greatly twisted over the years) story of how their father once saved their mother from a human lord and his soon-to-be bride, and how Auntie Maria corrected all the flaws in the story and told them the truth of the tale.
They want to meet Irene, and they want to save her. They want to feel her warmth again.
So they go to the mountain.
It’s Towa’s human night when they get there, and Sora has to do a double take and look behind her into the shrine to see the sleeping Irene. Towa, as a human, has shoulder-length hair, and solely because of the connection to spirits her human blood gives her. (Irene's hair grew because of the Shikigami spirits, even when her body was frozen due to Anastasia's spell, the first time she traveled to the past) Hair is viewed as something that holds a connection to spirits, and when human Towa's connection to the spirits is much stronger, and the growing hair as a human represents that connection.
And Sora has known their mother with longer hair all her life.
Looking back at Towa, she gives her the MOST dumbfounded look. “Here I thought HIKARU took after our mother..."
And Hikaru rebuts with a, “I don’t want to hear that from the one who most looks like our father.”
"I think I resemble Mother quite a bit."
"Absolutely not! In what way!? You can be just as cold as Dad sometimes, you know!"
"Well, I wouldn't have to be if you'd just listen to your big sister..."
"I listen plenty! It's hard being the only son, you know!"
When morning rises, Towa is half-demon again.
She mentions she met their mother when she was little, but their mother was younger and hadn’t even had Sora yet. Towa confesses she based her haircut and style off of what she remembered her looking like back then, as a way to avoid forgetting her, and Airi takes out the photo Sota snapped before 19 year-old Irene left for the Feudal Era to show them.
Mayonaka wanted Sesshomaru to look at her, to have her on his mind at all times… and had sent minions to kill Irene at first to get her out of the way, but when that failed, she cursed her in hopes that he would finally glance her way. And it worked, kind of.
By cursing Irene to the point where she is on the brink of death, he is now obsessively searching for Mayonaka- to kill- and has been for four years.
But when Sesshomaru finally finds her, he doesn’t even humor Mayonaka in conversation. He just attacks. This infuriates her, and she realizes that he isn’t even looking at her, more as he is just seeing the “demon who cursed his wife”. He doesn’t even know her name. There’s not enough room in his heart to hate her when all he cares about is Irene.
So she decides to take some drastic measures. Mayonaka believes she has to fully get rid of Irene in order for there to be room in his heart for her, because if she can’t have him she WILL have his heart by scarring it so badly that the memory of her will be etched in his very soul- as the woman who killed his love. So she starts searching for Irene.
(Think a very twisted and obsessed Yandere. That's Mayonaka)
When she finally finds her, Sora is there and in the way- trying to stop her. Sora puts up a good fight, but Mayonaka has more experience and ends up killing her by targeting Irene, tricking Sora into sacrificing herself and taking the blow by shielding her mother’s body. As Sora is bleeding out, she collapses atop the sleeping Irene just as Sesshomaru appears, having tracked Mayonaka down.
Sora had bought just enough time for her father to find them, and passes away holding onto her mother.
Sesshomaru is pissed. He goes full dog mode. Mayonaka laughs with delight and goes full moth mode. Giant daiyokai battle ensues. The Inugang and Kiddos all show up at the mountain to see Sesshomaru and Mayonaka battling it out, and everyone is horrified upon seeing Sora collapsed and dead, her blood pooling at her feet.
The Inugang go to help Sesshomaru, but Mayonaka’s minions appear. Lesser demons who despise the fact that Sesshomaru took on a human wife. They end up battling it out while Hikaru, Airi, Towa, and Shion try to protect what’s left of the shrine with Irene and Sora’s bodies inside. Itsuki and Moroha are working with Hisui, Kin’Gyo, and Kohaku and Rin (she's a priestess) to fend off anymore new arrivals. Miasma is slowly killing the foliage that kept the shrine pure.
Sesshomaru ends up leaving Mayonaka a bloody mangled mess, and tosses her down from the sky and into the river below. With a splash, she’s back in her humanoid form, and she is cackling and laughing with delight, grinning as wide as could be. She’s so happy. Sesshomaru is finally looking at her, and she’ll be etched in his heart forever if he kills her.
But he doesn’t.
A familiar scent has reached the entrance, and with it the appearance of hot blue flames that swallow the area, enveloping the lesser demons and disintegrating them all. As it clears, everyone sees a figure walking calmly towards them, and as the figure draws close they realize… it’s Akane.
Akane in her mortal form. The final sibling, Hikaru’s twin sister, the one that could not blend in with society in her normal form, has finally arrived… and her gaze turns to meet the gaze of her father.
Sesshomaru will not kill Mayonaka. He will not give her the pleasure she so wishes to have of dying at his hands. Her body is already mangled, limbs barely hanging on as is. No, she’ll die at the hands of the daughter that most resembles his wife in terms of power and selflessness.
So he turns away. He starts walking towards the resting bodies of Sora and Irene.
Mayonaka is horrified. She starts screeching, screaming at him, that it HAS to be him to kill her. That she did all this FOR him, but… he pays her no heed. So she pulls herself together with what little remains of her strength and pulls out her moth wings, flying towards Sora and Irene. She is determined to kill the human woman.
But Sesshomaru doesn’t give her more than a glance over the shoulder before a massive spirit (Akane’s familiar) appears and swallows Mayonaka whole, sealing her away. She burns the talisman the demoness was sealed in with a vanquishing flame, and Mayonaka is effectively dead… and the curse on Irene broken.
As she starts to wake up, Sesshomaru uses tenseiga on Sora, and his daughter is very confused until she realizes what happened and watches as color returns to Irene’s face and the woman coughs, groaning and rolling onto her side as the spirits release their spell that had kept her in stasis.
Irene is shooketh, and mildly horrified she’s been asleep for so long that Sora is now 19, Hikaru and Akane 18, and that Airi and Towa have returned and are both 16 and 14 alongside Shion!????? Three of her children are young adults now, and two of her babies have returned and are so much older now, and wait, why is Sora covered in blood?
Irene cries, and Sora is laughing and hugging her, telling her it’s alright, and Irene is like NO, IT ISN’T, WHO CURSED ME, TELL ME THEIR NAME SO I CAN BURN THEM TO CRISPS, and they have to tell her that the demoness is already dead. Irene is pissed and upset and going through all the emotions, and ends up smothering all of her kiddos with affection because it's been four years and she missed so much and two of her babies are back but her other babies are four years older now and oh gods how could she have slept so long???
...
Unfortunately... there's still the case of the randomly appearing time portals and all the demons that are disappearing.
The modern era is an extreme danger now, as with all the demons from the Feudal Era being sent to modern times all the demons of the modern era that were in hiding and blending in have decided they were tired of hiding and reveal themselves, lashing out at the humans that had them hide away for so long.
Kirinmaru is the one leading it all.
Kagome, Inuyasha, Moroha and Itsuki, and Irene, Airi, Towa, Shion, and Kin'u and Kohaku all get zapped by one of the portals. They're reunited with Sota, Maria, and Koga, and they watch as the skies grow dark as hundreds to thousands of demons appear, while others are wrecking havoc in the towns.
In a panic, Kagome remembers something from years ago and reveals that inside Kururugi Shrine is a scroll. Hinami and Ren are there, and they know exactly which one she's talking about, and they send Irene to the shrine to unseal the demon and his allies that are with him- and have been for many centuries.
It is a scroll depicting the demon lord Sesshomaru... who had been sealed by his daughter, Akane, in an effort to save his life, many many years ago, and who lost her life sealing her siblings along with him.
To quote Hinami from my Forest Deep fanfic, "Demons existed once. They were in abundance, living in the wild and in their own forms of civilization. Yet when humanity's weaponry began to grow more advanced, their numbers began to decline. Demons started to lose their place in this world. Those who sought preservation hid themselves, while others were proud and died fighting. The few who could pass themselves off as humans did so, and their demonic bloodlines dwindled until nothing but traces of their powers within their descendants remained."
During the era of the Tokugawa Shogunate and the Sakoku Edict, demons began to be killed off. They either learned to blend in or died fighting. Sesshomaru, being as proud as he is, refused to blend in, and fought for years until he was gravely wounded. His half-demon, half-white children were being hunted.
Akane knew he wouldn't survive if he kept going. She knew her siblings would all be killed.
So, in a moment of extreme sacrifice, wanting to protect them all, Akane gives up her life sealing Sesshomaru and all of her siblings away. Her descendants, who lived in hiding within the Kururugi Village, acting as priestesses and priests, worshipping the "Great Kami" of their shrine, prayed to and protected the scroll for the next few hundred years, passing down the stories and legends to each generation.
Sesshomaru, trapped with three of his half-demon children and... potentially a grandchild, ponders over the next few centuries why Akane, the child who could not blend in with society, who lived in hiding, who was the one child he was harshest/most strict with to ensure she could survive, did what she did, and how she died doing so, knowing full well he could not revive her with tenseiga after being sealed away.
And as the years pass...
He gets to see her children, and her grandchildren, and her grandchildren's children and grandchildren. Some look just like her human self or just like Irene or just like him, and then it's Hinami and Ren who are IDENTICAL to Akane and Irene, and he's still TRAPPED with his other children while the ONE IS DEAD but her descendants are THERE, and then...
Kagome's finally come to collect the shard of the "shattered bird".
And Kagome sees the scroll and finally realizes why Hinami and Ren look so familiar, and why something always felt so off about them, because in the shrine she sees a little crescent glowing upon the brunette's forehead. With the jewel shard in her hand, Kagome approaches the scroll, the scroll that has what is so very obviously Sesshomaru painted on it, despite the older appearance and change of armor, and when she reaches out to touch the painting... the image changes so his likeness is looking RIGHT at her.
Kagome is, understandably, freaked out.
She books it out of there after listening to Hinami's story, and Sesshomaru is left waiting again. And again. And…
Miasma.
The doors to the shrine slams open.
Irene?
She's younger, much younger than she was when she had died, and she's dressed in the purple kimono with the blue butterflies he gave her shortly before she originally left the Feudal Era, as an apology for having hurt her. She's... not as young as back then, but not as old as when she died. She's somewhere in between. He hasn't seen her in centuries.
And she's... as beautiful as the day he had lost her.
He watches from within the scroll as she rushes over, muttering to herself. He feels the warmth from her palm as she rests her hand against the scroll, gentle flames peeling away the seal.
And then he was freed, along with those who had been sealed with him.
Five hundred years, and he gets to hold her again.
He had missed her so much.
But it's only temporary, for after the battle she'll have to return to his younger self.

My idea of a perfect modern AU Inuyasha
Totosai is Inuyasha’s legal guardian
Inuyasha is ofc a scrappy delinquent with entire file cabinet drawers dedicated to him in the school offices
He and Miroku (who lives with Mushin) are the chaotic dynamic duo that met in detention and became ride-or-die bffs after Inuyasha saved Miroku’s ass during a reckless stunt and Miroku took the fall for Inuyasha
Sango’s an athlete and Miroku develops a big crush on her after she KO’s him for spying on the girls at practice
Inuyasha meets Kagome when he falls asleep on the Higurashi shrine steps and her grandpa tries to exorcise him
Kagome and Inuyasha have the same history class. They get paired up on assignments and she’s made his tutor. Inuyasha is basically the little boy who pulls on Kagome’s pigtails because he likes her but doesn’t know how to express it. She thinks he’s a jerk at first, until he sticks up for her against some bullies.
Shippou is an orphan street kid from Inuyasha’s neighborhood and likes to follow Inu around, mostly to bother him.
Koga and Hojo are both there of course. They’re at the top of Inuyasha’s shit list for making advances on Kagome reasons.
Kikyo attends a different school and is Inuyasha’s bitter ex. They had a nasty break up. He doesn’t like to talk about her and every time they run into each others it’s super awkward and tense.
Naraku is either a creepy upperclassman or school faculty member. Either way, he’s the asshole that nobody wants to mess with.
Sesshomaru is Inu’s stupidly successful older brother that drops in every now and then to “check up” on Inuyasha (really asserting his status as the superior purebred first-born over his ne’er-do-well mutt little half-brother). He gets called in because he’s Inuyasha’s only blood relative, much to both their chagrin.

@inuvember | Inuvember 2024 | Prompt(s) Fandom & Other
Summary: Sota Higurashi enters high school and starts seeing a familiar face plastered on binders. (Read on Ao3)
Tumblr media
Monday, April 2, 2001
It has been one year, almost to the day, since his sister went ‘moved away’ on March 31st, 2000. The day of her graduation. It was almost funny that no one questioned how she never answered calls anymore or that she hadn’t been seen. No one asked for her new address. Not even her so-called ‘friends’. It was almost funny but Sota simply found it impossibly sad. The only people who missed her, the only people who thought about her, knew exactly where she was. Just like they knew they’d never see her again. They’d never find out what happened. They’d never get the full story. They’d just never know. Mom seemed a little too fine with that. Maybe because she’d gotten to say goodbye. He didn’t get that opportunity.
It felt like a lifetime ago that he’d watched Kagome walk away for the last time. Fresh off graduation, her stride melancholy and slow, like she didn’t like what her next steps might lead. She'd told him the night before that she wasn’t ready to be an adult. She wasn’t sure that she ever wanted to move out. Kagome had been hurting. Sota hadn’t known what to say.
He wasn’t sure if Kagome ever reciprocated but he’d always felt close to her, closer than he’d ever been with anyone else. She had been his first friend, the person who always knew how to make him laugh, who offered guidance and advice. Not always great advice but still. Now, he had to step into the very halls she’d walked before him, and for the first time, it was really hitting him that he’d never see her again.
So yeah, the ache in his chest wasn’t new; it had been there for months, if not years. After all, ever since she returned, the spunky sister he’d known had been replaced by a resigned one, largely going through the motions and trying her best to make do. He hoped she was hap…
His chest cramped.
He hoped that she’d had a good life. That she got everything she wanted. That everything went well.
But, for him, it was the first day of high school. Life marched on. For far too long, Sota stood at the edge of the high school campus, looking up at the familiar red-brick walls, the tall windows, and the worn-down volleyball court. Kagome had gone here last year. Now she was buried somewhere several hundred years in the past.
So, yeah, for so many reasons, this transition from middle school to high school felt different for him than it clearly did for all the bustling kids entering the building. It seemed more about stepping into a world that now felt a little emptier. Moving forward into the unknown while his sister likely knew all that was to come. Things she’d never get to see. That thought felt a bit like torture.
Still, as he walked through the front doors, he forced himself to breathe.
And then the air was stolen out of his lungs the second a girl pulled out a binder with something stuffed inside its clear front sleeve. He blinked. Once. Twice and then his feet were moving.
”Hey, hey, what is that?” frantic words came tumbling out of his mouth while the girl stared at him like he was insane, “The picture. What is that?”
Wide chocolate eyes blinked at him before the red binder with its printed picture was held up.
”Oh,” the girl shook herself and smiled, “It’s a new anime. Well, okay, the manga’s been out for a while but the anime just came out a few months ago. You should watch it. It’s really good.”
Sota stared at the image absolutely dumbfounded and numb.
”W-what’s it called?” he asked hoarsely as he forced himself to look away and back up to the girl.
”Oh, um, Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairy Tale,” the girl offered awkwardly before blushing, “I printed this off the internet.”
Sota’s chest heaved and his mouth moved wordlessly for a moment.
”W-what’s it about?” his voice cracked on the last word.
”Oh, um, a girl falls down this well at a shrine and winds up five hundred years in the past. Finds a half-demon. Chaos ensues,” the girl chuckled nervously as she tucked a few hairs behind her ear.
Sota’s throat felt dry.
”And so, the half-demons name is Inuyasha and the girl-“
“Kagome Higurashi,” the girl offered before glancing at the clock and wincing, “I gotta get to class. Sorry.”
Sota stood frozen and he was fairly certain he nodded with a dumbstruck ‘yeah same.’
The bell rung. He mindlessly walked out the front door and then broke out into a run to find the nearest computer cafe. A number. He had to find a number.

SOUKOKU (kagome & inuyasha) the idiotic geniuses
BSD Inuyasha AU post
Dazai as kagome who's the heir to the port mafia (his grandpa, the old boss, is currently reigning) his next mission entails overseeing a drug base disguised as a shrine led by odasaku w/ the orphans (higurashi family) (the old boss recognizes the oda's skills and finds it wasteful to kill him just because he doesn't wanna kill anymore) who gives him a tour. As he wanders the area near the well, his book (the complete manual to suicide) starts to transform into The Book, the words disappearing and cover changing and as that magical transformation finishes, he's dragged into the well by a huge centipede. He escapes (he's got a gun and he knows how to use it) and then stumbled across hirotsu (kaede) who then explains things to dazai.
Chuuya as inuyasha who was freed by a bandaged guy who wields a... (what even is that??) and keeps muttering about how that dumb centipede always regenerates every shot he makes! (chuuya can sense spiritual powers from this guy though?? Why not use it??) he helps defeat the demon anyway because this is not the best way to wake up and he's still so very confused. Hirotsu explains the situation (and huh, he's so old now, how much time has passed? he used to take care of him and the sheep and the village as a whole) but another demon shows up and takes a book.... Wait... that's THE BOOK he carries dazai and they try to shoot the bird down.
Dazai misses and hits the spine of the book, scattering the pages (on purpose) because he thinks he'll finally find them meaning of this meaningless existence called life if he has this chibi puppy by his side (he's got a crush, sue him)
Chuuya's choker as the beads of subjugation which was handed to him by shirase (kikyo) because shirase wasn't really powerful and if chuuya ends up betraying him, he has to have something to use against him. For some reason though, shirase didn't end up being the word-sayer despite him being the one to put it on chuuya (here, it's because he simply does not have the spiritual power to pull off the commands). When Dazai saw Chuuya wearing the choker, he made fun of it and jokingly said "sit". It ended up working and dazai always makes sure that chuuya never lives it down.
Gun and bullets as bow and arrows, dazai is already a master at it, so why switch into an old fashioned weapon (chuuya: master? Why'd you miss the book then??) Hirotsu tried to teach him how to use bows though so he decided to try it out and bring it to their travels because he likes making hirotsu proud (in exchange, dazai teaches him how to use a gun, and dazai can see that it's growing on hirotsu)
Dazai brings things from the modern era as well, so far chuuya's favorites are: portable music and wine.
Kagome's bike has no equivalent. Because is there a better alternative to being carried by chuuya? NONE.
(dazai, muttering: shame it's not bridal carry though)

Sooooo Ray we talking bout rare crossover pair hell how bout kagome/gojo huh? Like just imagine the shenanigans and possiblities like damn. Here you have the strongest Miko pitted against the strongest sorcerer and not only that kagome would have none of gojos shit. Also they would balance each other out I think
Imagine kagome meeting Gakuganji (did I spell his name right idfk) fir the first time and the absolute shit storm coming that old farts way kagome can already tell she doesn't like him and he brings up yuujis execution and kagome absolutely tears him a new one.
~~~~
Oh god man yes. Just, a Kagome in her 20s (perhaps now forever in her 20s) who made her peace with her and InuYasha's relationship never coming to fruition and for whom the well never reopened anyways so she had to live her life in the present instead of going back.
And the problem is that her time in the past changed her in a way that no one else can really relate to.
She came out of all of her travels and battles as the undisputed Strongest Priestess. And now there are no more monsters.
Only that's not true.
Come to find out that the Higurashi Shrine has simply been providing a very big buffer zone of purity.
She ends up finding out about curses and realizing that, much like youkai, she can purify them with little to no issue. A single touch, or even a wave of her powers sent out from her body, and they're ash in the wind.
And if she bothers to use her bow?
She can fell them by the hundreds if necessary.
When she first sees Gojo it's not his aura or his height or the blindfold that catches her attention.
It's his hair.
That purity of color, the way she can tell it's natural, she automatically assumes some sort of demonic heritage.
And then she ends up pulled into the actual world of Jujutsu Sorcerers.
A world that honestly doesn't know how to deal with her.
Because she knows the true history of youkai, had lived it, breathed it, bled for it, and she has no time to indulge old men who think they know and who are really only interested in solidifying their own power.
Add to that the fact that Sukuna is wary of her?
Well she absolutely captures Gojo's attention.
Summary:
In 1496 Japan, humans and demons (yōkai) battle over the Shikon Jewel (四魂の玉, Shikon no Tama, lit. "The Jewel of Four Souls"), which is said to grant any wish. Kikyo, the priestess who keeps the Shikon Jewel, is in love with the half-demon Inuyasha. However, they fall into a deceitful trap and betray each other. Inuyasha steals the Shikon Jewel, but the dying Kikyo pins Inuyasha to a tree with a sacred arrow. Per Kikyo's will, her body is cremated along with the Shikon Jewel, which disappeared from the era.
Five hundred years later, Kagome Higurashi lives on the grounds of her family's Shinto shrine, with her mother, grandfather and younger brother. On her fifteenth birthday, Kagome is dragged into the enshrined Bone Eater's Well (骨喰いの井戸, Honekui no Ido) by a centipede demon and sent back in time to the Sengoku period in 1546. The Shikon Jewel manifests from within the body of Kagome, who is Kikyo's reincarnation, and she desperately frees Inuyasha from the tree to kill the centipede demon. When Inuyasha threatens her, Kikyo's sister Kaede subdues him with a magical bead necklace to keep him under control. Later, Kagome inadvertently shatters the Shikon Jewel into many shards with an arrow, and they scatter across Japan and into the possession of various demons and humans.
Inuyasha obtains his father's sword Tessaiga, which places him at odds with his older half-brother Sesshomaru, the wielder of Tenseiga. Inuyasha aids Kagome in collecting the shards and dealing with the threats they come across. On their journey, the presence of Naraku, a spider half-demon who was responsible for manipulating Inuyasha and Kikyo, comes to light. While pursuing Naraku, Inuyasha and Kagome recruit the young fox demon Shippō, the perverted monk Miroku (whose hand was cursed by Naraku), and the demon slayer Sango and her two-tailed demon cat Kirara. Sango's clan was killed when they were tricked by Naraku, and her younger brother Kohaku fell under his control. Over time, Inuyasha enhances Tessaiga into stronger forms while defeating his enemies. His team is loosely allied with Sesshomaru, whom Naraku attempted to manipulate, the resurrected Kikyo who plans to purify the Shikon Jewel if all shards are collected, and Kōga, the leader of a wolf demon tribe who seeks to avenge his comrades whom Naraku killed. As Inuyasha and his friends journey together, he and Kagome begin to fall in love with one another, which is complicated by Inuyasha's lingering feelings for Kikyo.
Desperately hunted by his enemies, Naraku temporarily removes his heart and wounds Kikyo. Kohaku, having been previously killed but later revived by Naraku and kept alive and under his control by a Shikon Jewel shard, eventually regains his free will and memories, and attempts to escape Naraku's group. During that time, Sesshomaru settles his feud with Inuyasha to enable his brother to perfect Tessaiga to its optimal abilities. Kikyo sacrifices herself to give life to Kohaku, and Naraku collects all the shards to restore the Shikon Jewel. As he is slain by Inuyasha and his allies, Naraku reveals his true desire for Kikyo, despite his hatred towards her, and he uses his wish to trap himself and Kagome inside the Shikon Jewel before dying. Revealed to be sentient, the Shikon Jewel intends for Kagome to make a selfish wish so that she and Naraku will be trapped in an eternal conflict, thus prolonging the Jewel's existence. However, with Inuyasha by her side, Kagome wishes for the Shikon Jewel to disappear forever, allowing her to return to her time with the well sealed, and she and Inuyasha lose contact for three years.
In that time, the Sengoku period changes drastically: Sango and Miroku marry and have three children together, Kohaku continues his role as a demon slayer, and Shippō trains to make his demon magic stronger. Back in the present, Kagome graduates from high school, and manages to get the Bone Eater's Well in her backyard to work again. She returns to the Sengoku period, where she reunites with Inuyasha, marries him, and continues to train with Kaede and become a topmost-level priestess.
Wish I Could Curse You (13)
Series Master list
Tumblr media
Kenjaku brushes his short hair back and inspects his nails as he waits for his companion to join him. He should have gotten red polish. Or maybe pink. Though black is always in style.
"Kaori," Chiba calls, walking over with two cups of coffee. Chiba is a large man. His belly is round from too much sake, and his head is nearly bald except for the small patch of hair at the top.
Kenjaku takes the drink and stares at that tuff of hair. Looks more like pubic hair. "No need to shout, Chiba-san."
"Ah! Right." He pulls out a chair and sits across from Kenjaku. "What can I do for you?" Chiba scratches his clean-shaven cheek and glances around the cafe as though he is expecting a curse to pop out and cause chaos. As far as abilities go, Chiba is weak and spends more time on his ass than exorcising curses. Though Chiba is the youngest of the higher-ups. Would it be rude to ask whose balls Chiba fondled to become a higher-up with such a terrible track list?
"How is Gojo Satoru?" Kenjaku asks.
Chiba splutters. "Gojo Satoru? That low life is plotting something." He slams his drink down. "Hasn't been back to work in a week. Claimed he's sick, but every call goes straight to voicemail. No one has seen him outside of Ieiri, but she's probably lying for him."
"... That so." Kenjaku hums. Gojo Satoru is missing and so is Geto Suguru. He flinches and grabs the side of his head.
"Kaori! Are you okay? Don't let that brat get to you." Chiba leers. "Once he's taken care of, I'll make sure to put in a word for you."
"I'm fine," Kenjaku assures him. He grabs his coffee and stands. Kenjaku does not need Chiba to put in a word for him. What he needs is for this useless higher-up to keep better track of Gojo's movements. "Sorry to cut this short, but I should head out." He grabs his head again and groans. "You know my body is weak."
Chiba stands. "I'll help you home."
"No, I can manage. You need to get back to the school." Kenjaku smiles and makes a show of lowering his eyes to Chiba's crotch. "I'll see you later."
Chiba flushes and sits back down. He picks up a napkin and dabs his forehead. "Tonight." He clears his throat. "If I hear anything else about Gojo, I'll let you know. He throws his power around like a brute."
Kenjaku resists rolling his eyes. Gojo Satoru would kill this man with a flick of his finger. If Chiba wasn't useful, Kenjaku would kill himself, but having several higher-ups in his back pocket is too valuable. "Of course," Kenjaku amends. He flashes another smile and heads out of the cafe. His heels clack on the sidewalk.
Higurashi Kagome. Why is he thinking about her? The Shikon priestess is nothing more than a fairy tale these days. Sorcerers have no recollection of monks or priestesses. He crosses his arms and tightens his fingers around his coffee.
Or demons.
Wait. He backs up and tilts his head at the sign. The Higurashi shrine. Kenjaku twists his lips. Perhaps they are descendants of Kagome? Kenjaku takes a step, and the pain hits harder than a black flash from a Heian-era sorcerer.
A warning.
His eyes narrow. What happens if something pushes against this barrier? He takes a sip of his coffee though inside his body screams from the pain. What is this?
"Are you going to the shrine?" A woman asks from the steps. She walks down to the bottom step. Her hair is curly, and it falls past her shoulders. Her eyes are brown, but more importantly, she lacks control over her cursed energy.
She's useless, however, she came from the shrine. Is the veil keeping him away because of what he is or is there something else at play?
"I was considering it," Kenjaku replies conversationally. The thing about being in a woman's body is that others seem more comfortable to approach him. Though coming across a body that is strong is much harder to come by if he's also looking for a female host. Kenjaku hums. Why is that? Is it because women have always been regarded as less than? Or are they simply that much weaker? He hums again. There is the special grade, Yuki, though.
He will have to ponder on this another time.
"Oh, they're closed." The woman blows out a breath. "I have no idea when they will be back. Kagome is always disappearing somewhere. I thought she would have put that behind her after the loss of her family." The woman sighs and then slaps a hand over her mouth. "I am so sorry! Forget I said anything."
Kenjaku bites his tongue to keep the smile off his face. Gojo, Geto, and this Kagome is missing? He takes another sip of his coffee. There's no way it's the same Kagome.
But.
What is this memory of all of them in his past? It cannot be a coincidence that he would have a sudden memory of those three right as they are all missing. He does not believe in coincidences. There is no such thing. There is always a reason. Some kind of explanation. He needs to get to the bottom of this.
"Do you have a picture of Kagome? I'd love to give my prayers to her. The loss of family is devastating," he says, injecting a hint of sadness into his tone.
"Uhh... yeah, I do." The woman smiles, but it's small and doesn't reach her eyes. She pulls out her phone from her purse. "Kagome and I went to school together. I worry about her." She holds out her phone and Kenjaku sucks in a breath.
The resemblance is uncanny. There simply is no way. Perhaps she is a reincarnation, like his dear Jin was. Kenjaku bites down on his tongue. Now is not the time to think of him.
"You said she disappears a lot?"
"She was always sick back in school. I'm just worried about her with her family dying so brutally and then Hojo died too." She sighs. "I don't know why I'm telling you all this."
"It's the mother in me," Kenjaku says, flashing a smile. He shifts his coffee to his left hand and digs out his phone. "So, her family and this..."
"Her ex-boyfriend."
"Ah. Her ex-boyfriend and her family passed away. And now the shrine is in limbo?" Something is not adding up.
The woman nods. "Yeah. Or maybe not since she's been talking to some Geto guy. Eri said he runs a shrine too, so I don't know. Maybe this will be converted into just a home." She sighs. "Well, I've shared more than I should have, but something about you feels warm."
"Thank you..."
"Ayumi."
"What a pretty name," Kenjaku says. He waves goodbye as the woman throws one last glance at the shrine and turns to head back. He searches for the Higurashi shrine and clicks on the news report. His eyebrows raise. Brutal death? That looks like the work of curses. Reaching a hand out, he pulls away and hisses at the steam.
Another warning.
Kenjaku cracks his neck. No sense in standing around. He needs to dig deeper into this. Find out more about Higurashi Kagome. He doesn't believe in coincidences. Geto Suguru missing around the same time Gojo Satoru is sick is one thing, but Higurashi Kagome matching the Shikon priestess from the past? No, there's something going on and he plans to figure out what it is.
He throws one more look at the shrine and speed walks to catch up with that woman. Oh, what the hell did she say her name was? Akane? Aymame? "Ayumi-san!" Kenjaku calls out, and to his relief, she stops and waits for him.
"Yes?"
"Sorry, I was just overcome with so much emotion about the tale of the shrine that I had to catch up with you. Are you busy?"
Ayumi bites her lip, worrying the bottom lip between her teeth. "I was going to grab something to eat..."
"Perfect! I'll pay for both of us. My treat." Kenjaku grabs Ayumi's arm and tugs. "You know, dear. Your eyes are really beautiful."
"Oh! Thank you." Ayumi ducks her head. "Kagome always tells me that, too."
Kenjaku smiles. "What else can you tell me about your friend? It pains me, as a mother, to hear what Kagome is going through. No mother would want that for her child."
Ayumi sniffs. "I can share once we find somewhere to sit down at. I'm sorry. It's just so hard to think about sometimes."
Kenjaku mentally rolls his eyes, but outwardly he plasters a smile on his face, and brushes the stray tears from her face. "There, there. It'll be okay. I promise." They walk to a cafe two blocks from the shrine and though Kenjaku got food earlier, he still orders a drink at least, so he has something to do.
"So, Kagome and you have known each for a long time?" Kenjaku stirs his tea and sets the spoon down next to the small plate. He wraps his hands around the cup and smiles at Ayumi. Somewhere between the walk from the shrine to this quaint cafe, Ayumi's defenses have gone up.
Can she sense there is more to him?
Nah. There is nothing extraordinary about her. She's as useless as all the other insects crawling around this city. Nothing more than fodder for curses.
"How long?" he follows up when Ayumi seems to be lost in her thoughts.
"Oh... since middle school." Ayumi looks off in the distance. Her tea is cooling by the second and she has yet to make any move to drink it. Nor has she touched the sandwich she ordered.
Kenjaku presses his lips together. He doesn't like his time being wasted when he could be doing other things. There is so much to do. He needs to find another body soon. Not that Kaori's body is breaking down, but because if he is going to take over Suguru Geto's body, then he needs one that can actually fight back if needed.
Sadly, this body, even with the curse technique inscribed on the soul, is not enough. Kenjaku taps his nails on the table. Suguru and Satoru back together again.
What a pain.
"It's fine if you do not want to talk," he says, though inwardly he's plotting on how to string her body from the ceiling. Intestines? That could work, but that would be too messy, and he just got this dress. He eyes her for a moment.
Nah. Her body is worthless and there's no guarantee that the barrier would let him through.
"I have a son. Had one," he says, placing his hands on his lap. He looks down at the table and sniffs. "It was hard. The birth. The cord strangled him and there was nothing we could do."
"Oh! That's terrible." Ayumi reaches over and places her hand on the table. Kenjaku slowly lifts his head and gives her a watery smile. "Is that why Kagome's story bothered you so much?"
"Y—yes." He sniffs once more for good measure. "I think that perhaps her mother was simply happy that Kagome was safe in those last moments of life. No mother ever wants to outlive her children." Kenjaku bites the inside of his cheek.
Well, his other children are as useless as the woman in front of him. Perhaps they have all died out by now? It has been a long time since he's been to the school where their bodies are being held. The only one that has yet to disappoint him so far is Yuji, but he has time to.
"I don't know what to say," Ayumi admits. She moves her hand back and still she does not touch her food nor her tea. She sits there like a porcelain doll.
Kenjaku bites back a sigh. "You said Kagome disappeared a lot. That must have been hard on her mother."
Ayumi nods and then stands. "I'm sorry, I'm not much company. But thank you for this. I realized something." She grabs her uneaten sandwich and cold tea. "I hope you find what you are looking for."
"What I'm looking for?"
Ayumi flashes a smile. "Peace."
Kenjaku rolls his tongue over the top row of his teeth and stares at Ayumi's back as she tosses her items away and leaves out of the cafe. Peace? She thinks he is looking for peace? He scoffs and downs his tea.
It's cold.
Bitter.
Just like this fucking waste of time conversation. He stands and runs his hands down his dress, smoothing out any wrinkles. It's fine. She gave him something at least to go off on. Now, to track down what middle school this Kagome attended. He stands and meets the eye of a wealthy businessman. The curse energy leaks out of him in waves. With so much negative energy, that man is bound to create a decently powerful curse. Kenjaku smiles and tucks his hair back.
If Higurashi Kagome is who he thinks she is or even just a reincarnation of the priestess long since passed, then he'll need funds and maybe some curses in stock to deal with her.
Question is, how the fuck does he deal with Gojo Satoru?
He walks over to the table and sits on the man's lap. If the man is surprised by the boldness, he does not show it.
"This is a bit sudden," the man chuckles.
"A man like you can't be left up to chance. I'd rather seize the opportunity." He trails a finger down the man's cheek. "Or are you a passive man?"
For a moment, the man's mood sombers and the outflow of curse energy is marvelous. Oh, he might keep this one for a while.
"Let's get out of here."
Mentally, Kenjaku goes over his checklist as he allows himself to be led out of the cafe. If he can't talk his way into getting the school records, then he'll just use this man's money to make them appear. When all else fails, throw enough money at a situation, and anything is possible.
If only that worked on getting rid of Gojo Satoru.
"I would dodge that," Shippo yells, from his place next to Kagome on the grass. He pulls out a lollipop from his jacket and unwraps it. "Ooh, told you to dodge that, Papa Satoru."
"How the hell?" Satoru stares at where his hand used to be.
Kagome's heart drops. Her body is feverish. "Time out. I thought we weren't doing life-altering injuries." It'll be rough, but she can heal him. Kagome stands, but Satoru holds up his hand.
"Your mate is fine," Sesshomaru says, flicking his sword.
"I'm fine," Satoru assures her, wriggling his fingers. "Nothing a little rct can't fix."
Oh, his hand is back. Kagome brushes her bangs back and wets her lips. Okay, she didn't realize he could heal. Still, why are they cutting limbs off in a friendly spar? She sits back down and glares at Sesshomaru. He raises a brow as if daring her to do something, and if he doesn't knock it off, she will.
Cutting off limbs is not a friendly spar even if Satoru can heal.
Suguru frowns as he summons a couple of curses, only for them to fall in one blow. "Those were a pain to get," he grumbles.
"What about the other one?" Satoru jerks his head.
"It does not matter what you summon. It will not hurt this Sesshomaru."
Kagome blows out a breath and draws her legs up to her chin. Satoru does a double take and gets socked in the face by Suguru.
"Oi!"
"Pay attention!" Suguru hisses.
Sesshomaru turns his head and stares at Kagome. "Priestess, you are distracting your mates."
Kagome points to herself. "I'm just sitting here." How is this her fault? She didn't do anything.
"Blue looks good on you," Satoru quips.
Blue? She's not wearing... Kagome stretches her legs out and huffs. Seriously? She rolls her eyes and then pauses. Something feels off like something is coming this way. Shippo sniffs the air and sighs. He stuffs the lollipop back into his mouth.
"Not our problem," Sesshomaru says, right as Royakan comes crashing through the field.
"Sesshomaru-sama!"
"No."
"Is this an ally?" Suguru asks, walking over so he's in front of Kagome. Satoru stands in front of Shippo and cracks his knuckles. Kagome smiles. It's cute how protective they get. It's just Royakan, but they don't know that. At least it isn't Koga.
"A pest," Sesshomaru deadpans.
"But my lord!" Royakan sinks to his knees. The action creates a small dust cloud. "Please, my lord! We need help!"
"No. Now leave before I lope off your head." Sesshomaru sheathes his sword and turns his back to Royakan.
"What do you need help with?" Kagome asks since Sesshomaru is no help and Royakan wouldn't show up if it wasn't serious. Every demon knows how Sesshomaru has anger issues, so no one tests him... unless they're stupid, which a lot of them are. Suguru gives her a look, which she ignores. Instead, Kagome stands and walks around Suguru so she can address Royakan properly. "What's the problem?"
How can they be so indifferent to Royakan? His eyes are so big, and his mouth is so wide that he looks like an oversized puppy. She clenches her fists to stop herself from reaching over and petting him. He really looks like a puppy when he widens his eyes like that and begs.
"It's a group of monks. They've rounded up the young and are holding them hostage." Royakan sniffs and a big fat tear falls onto the grass. "They may already be dead. I heard they even went after priestesses, too. At least the ones that were set to get married."
Kagome frowns. Okay, that's alarming. Why would monks round up children and priestesses?
"Why would they go after the priestesses?" Suguru asks.
"Because a priestess's powers are tied to the purity of her body," Sesshomaru says, turning to face them. "Or so humans claim. Clearly, that is not true." He makes a point of looking at Kagome.
"Oh?" Kagome chuckles as she rubs the back of her head. "That's why Kaede freaked out." Good thing her powers aren't related to the purity of her body. Satoru and Suguru were insatiable last night.
And this morning.
"You slept with someone from this time?" Satoru asks, causally, though he rotates his wrist. Maybe that hand is giving him trouble? Should she take a look at it?
Kagome shrugs. "InuYasha was my first."
"Explains a lot," Sesshomaru says.
"Be nice," Kagome chastises. "So, these monks are being overzealous, then?"
"But why go after the priestesses?" Suguru asks again. "The monks we encountered were concerned about Satoru and me because of our cursed energy, and yet they stood down against you."
Kagome scratches her chin. "Well, they're going after the ones that are set to get married. So, it could be a power thing. Either they believe a priestess loses her power if she loses her virginity and they don't want that, or they know the whole purity thing is bullshit, and they don't want word spreading." Either way, it's a problem. They shouldn't be going after people or demons that are minding their business and causing no harm.
"If I may," Royakan says, rising to his feet. He sniffs and wipes his nose with the back of his hand. "It could be true. You, my lady, are an outlier."
Kagome frowns. "I'm still a priestess."
"You're the Shikon priestess," Royakan corrects. "Stronger than any other in history. What applies to others may not apply to you."
"I still think it's bullshit. They probably spread that lie so the women would be dedicated to the village." Kagome scoffs. Every priestess she has run into has been overworked and poorly compensated. Maybe she's spent too much time around Miroku? Most monks don't act like him, and he has the biggest house in the village. "Kikyo wanted to make a wish on the jewel so she could be freed of the responsibility."
"Humans are stupid creatures," Sesshomaru says.
"I'm human."
"You do not count." Sesshomaru glides his fingers through his hair. "The smell of death does not cling to you as it does the others." He stares at Royakan. "Show us this village or where these monks are hiding them."
Royakan cries, "Thank you, my lord! Right this way."
"Wait," Suguru says, catching Kagome's wrist in a loose hold. "We're helping demons?"
"Papa, I'm a demon," Shippo says.
Suguru falters. "That's true... okay."
What's with Suguru? Kagome stares at his hand for a moment. This is still new to him. It's probably difficult to reconcile that not all demons are bad. Not all of them go around terrorizing others, and not all humans go around starting wars.
"We should get going," Kagome says. "And frankly, those monks give me the creeps. They're extremists."
Suguru flinches.
"Not you, silly." Seriously, what is with him? Kagome gives him another look and then glances at Satoru.
Strange.
Satoru is looking at Suguru funny. Kagome frowns. Those two are keeping secrets and she doesn't like it. But now isn't the time. Later. Maybe when they get back to their time, she'll force it out of them... maybe tease it out of them?
"The faster we take care of those monks, the better," Kagome says, motioning with her hands. "If they are going this far, then they're already too far gone."
"What if we try talking to them again?" Suguru flanks her side. "Maybe they just need someone to break it down for them. Show them the errors of their ways? Or are they a lost cause?"
"Uh... sure." Kagome clears her throat. "We can try talking to them again and see if we can resolve this peacefully. Everyone deserves a second chance." She reaches for his hand and flashes him a smile. Suguru is acting strange. Is it because he's like a monk back in their time? "We find them and see if we can't come up with a solution that works for everyone, but if they don't go for it, then Sesshomaru will strike them down, so they don't grow in power."
Suguru nods. "Right."
"Are you okay? You can stay back if you need the rest. We can handle it."
He pins her with a look so fierce her knees threaten to give out. Okay, so Suguru did not like that suggestion. Good to know for the future. "I am never leaving you," he says.
"That's not..." Kagome swallows back the whimper. Her nipples harden and Kami have mercy on her. When Suguru gets like this, it is far too easy to give in to him. She turns her head and nods. Kagome dares not speak, for surely her vocal chords will give her away.
"I'll carry you," Suguru says, taking her into his arms. "Faster." He smiles at her and Kagome swears her heart stops for a moment. Her hormones must be in overdrive because everything about Suguru has her rearing to go.
"Why are you always hogging my girl?" Satoru complains. On his shoulder, Shippo sits, still licking his lollipop.
"I can't wait for you to go back to work when we get home." Suguru smirks. "I'll send you videos."
" Suguru!"
"You don't want to watch it together?" He stares at her lips. "You should see what I do. How beautiful you are. How you look when you..." He bites his lip and chuckles.
"Well, maybe I'll just retire," Satoru exclaims.
"What happened to supporting us?" Suguru rolls his eyes. "Speaking of which, Kagome, how do you support yourself?"
Kagome blinks. "I sell things to the museums."
Satoru laughs. " Kagome! You've been taking stuff from here and selling it?"
"Yeah?" She sniffs. "They appreciate how everything is in pristine condition. Suguru?"
"Kind of impressed." He tightens his hold on her and picks up speed. Kagome sighs as she leans into him. What's impressive is how Satoru and Suguru are keeping up with Sesshomaru's speed. Royakan pants the longer they run.
Poor guy.
She isn't sure how long they run or how far they travel, but when they get there, it's nothing but smoke. What the hell are they doing? Kagome swallows as Suguru lets her down.
"Vermin," Sesshomaru says, pulling out his sword. "Priestess, find the young and get them to safety."
Right. She can do that.
"Stop!" a voice calls out. A monk steps from behind the trees, followed by others. Kagome narrows her eyes. How did they get past any of them?
Shippo scoots closer to her while Suguru and Satoru stand in front. The monks raise their hands and Sesshomaru reacts. Everything goes to shit.
Blood. So much blood.
This isn't like earlier. There is no talking. No amount of pleading that gets through to them. A trap. This was a trap, and they used Royakan. Kagome pulls out an arrow. She can at least disrupt them. Her energy overrides theirs.
"Kagome, get going!" Suguru yells.
She hesitates for a moment but turns to run. Find the others. They have to be close by. And then what? What the monks lack in power, they make up with their sheer numbers. How long have they been planning this? Kagome runs past the fighting. Demons, half-demons, and even some humans fight back against the monks. This town did not deserve this.
She halts. Shippo. There's a barrier around him, but she doesn't like how they crowd around him. Should have left him back at the estate.
Kagome curses under her breath. There are too many of them. This is not a group, but damn near an army. Her eyes widen.
Blood.
Suguru.
He cracks a grin, but no sound comes out. Blood seeps from the corner of his mouth. There's a blade jutting out of his throat.
Her body is feverish. This isn't happening. "Suguru!" Her energy flares. Wild. She rushes over. On the ground, the monks lie scattered, but none of that matters.
"Papa!" Shippo rushes forward and grabs a hold of Suguru's shirt. "Why did you do that!" Shippo wails.
Kagome swallows. This isn't happening. She had a barrier around Shippo; he was never in any danger. Not really. Her bottom lip wobbles. Suguru didn't know that. "You're okay," she says, no demands.
Suguru reaches for the blade and pulls it out. His eyes roll back.
"Suguru!"
