Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited (1965)

Fifty-nine years ago today, on August 30, 1965, Highway 61 Revisited, the sixth studio album by Bob Dylan, was released. Named after the major American highway that connects his birthplace of Duluth, Minnesota, to southern cities famed for their musical heritage, the album, featuring a backing band of rock musicians, further departed from Dylan’s folk roots. Peaking at number three in the US and at number four in the UK, the album was well-received critically upon its release and has since gone on to be considered among Dylan’s best and most significant works and among the greatest albums ever made.
