Detco really needs to focus on cases and basic character development and stir away from nuanced topics. Because what do you mean life is precious and you cant kill yourself because it doesnt BELONG to you? What do you mean killing your abusers that almost killed you is the wrong thing to do? What is wrong with you???
The only thing a person have from their birth is their life and they try to go and make it deep and steal it from them.
Like how conan always stop ppl from commiting suicide etc despite himself being the one that pushed them to that point and he KNOWS it. He's a really selfish guy, stopping people from ending their misery because it makes him feel like a villian, and im fine with that but when i see fans agreeing with it it just makes my skin crawl because like. To rob someone of the only thing they have in this world, their choice to continue to keep it or end it. How cruel.
One of my inspiration for my Forsaken fic is how lives aren't precious actually. It's just is. It's just. Is. Life exist, precious or not is a matter of perspective.
#bastalks#but seriously as someone who is suicidal to hear the characters say that just shatters my heart#AND U WILL NEVER SEE ME STOP RANTING ABOUT HEIJIS MOM WHO BELITTLED A SUICIDAL GIRL AND CALLED HER A BITCH FOR KILLING HER ABUSIVE HUSBAND#LIKE MAAM MY GOOD LADY YOUR HUSBAND IS A HIGHRANKING SENIOR COP#WHAT DO U THINK HE NEVER USED HIS GUN AND IF HE DID IT WAS ALL MORALLY ACCEPTABLE?????#WHATS UP WITH ALL LIFE IS PRECIOUS WHAT IF UR FUCKASS HUSBAND KILLED A BOMBER WHATS THEN????

I don't think the Legend of Zelda series will ever truly explore it but sometimes I go a little crazy thinking about how much Zelda and Ganondorf parallel each other.
Because of how vague the lore is, the way I interpret it is that when Hylia became Zelda, her soul would enter the reincarnation cycle as Zelda (when Skyward Sword Zelda dies). So every Zelda has Hylia's soul. Demise says that an incarnation of his hatred will follow our heroes forever, which I interpret as Ganondorf having Demise's soul.
So we have our good princess, with the soul of the Goddess of Time, who has an inherit power of sacred light. And we have our evil king, with the soul of the demon king, who is the embodiment of hatred and malice.
Neither of them has a soul that is completely "their own". They each belong to a God outside the mortal realm of hyrule. Both of the Gods made the decision to become mortal in some way, Hylia to save Hyrule and Demise to curse Hyrule (or specifically Link and Zelda). But the mortals never got a choice.
Zelda also represents the triforce of wisdom. But she, or at least the princess of the wilds, doesn't know the history of the reincarnations of the hero, the princess, and the calamity. She doesn't even seem to know about the creator Godesses themselves, or the triforce (which is literally inside of her). She's very smart, curious, and well read, but she doesn't know why her kingdom's fate is what it is. Also she's a child in most games, and wisdom is known to come with age.
Ganondorf represents the triforce of power. But he only exists because a spiteful God lost to 2 children, the souls of which he is fated to repeatedly lose to for eternity. In the TOTK timeline he was held underneath the castle of his enemies for at least 20 000 years. He has wrath, and he can fight real good and sap power from others, but he has no power over the fundamental facts of his existence.
I have more to ramble about but it's getting late so thanks for coming to my tedtalk and I love zelda
#zelda is the princess and ganondorf is a regional king#i think theres something there too as theyre both highranking but not hyrules total rulers#zelda#ganondorf#loz#totk#botw#skyward sword#and then theres the link of it all i didnt even touch on him#but i do have Thoughts about that too

So I just thought about a Dreamling Avatar The Last Airbender AU. Dream was born in a highranking fire nation family (maybe even the royal family) and lived a fairly normal if secluded life, and of course he's been trained to perfection when it comes to firebending. Only, on his 16th birthday it turns out he's also the Avatar.
Dream is not a fan of that. He already feels useless despite his status in the fire nation and now he's the one who's supposed to bring the world balance? He can't even balance his own feelings. Even the greatest Avatars could never bring peace to the world for more than a few years (at best a few decades) in a row, how is he supposed to do that? But he knows he has no choice and so he goes on his journey to learn the other elements. And while he learns the elements to perfection as well, his journey just proves what he already knew: He's a mess and unfit to bring balance to anyone.
As he learned air bending, he fell in love with his teacher - the nun Nada. Unfortunately, while she loved him back, she decided to remain a nun and to follow her duties to her people rather than running away with Dream. Dream was so upset about it that he unintentionally burned her and left the temple in shame, not even checking if she was okay in his haste to get away. He's still ashamed of what he did back then and hasn't visited an air temple since.
He promised himself that the same would not happen again - and yet, as he went to the water tribe to study his next element, he fell head over heels in love again. This time with the daughter of the chief, Calliope. Their relationship started so well, too - both of them understood each other, knowing what it was like to grow up protected and secluded, as well as with many (annoying) siblings. They even discover a shared love for creating ice sculptures, sometimes spending their entire time together just one-upping each other in who can make the prettiest one of all. Dream is so certain of his love that he even carves a betrothel necklace for Calliope, who gladly accepts it. However, seeing this, her father and sisters give her a stern talking to, warning her that she shouldn't go through with it, maybe even having heared what Dream did to poor Nada and fearing that he might do the same to her. Calliope is disappointed by her family's lack of support, and even considers just running away with Dream anyway. But in the end, her loyalty will always be to her family and her tribe and so she hands the necklace back to Dream.
Dream, utterly heartbroken, done with this world, and continuing simply because he knows he has to (and what else is there to do, anyway?), goes to the earth kingdom to learn his final element. He's so tired of his heartache. In an effort to prevent the inevitable, he decides to look for a teacher who's all alone. A man. With no daughters or sisters or cousins or whoever else to fall in love with. Someone who will teach Dream to bend earth as quickly as possible so he can finally be done with this, go back home, and wait for the world to (hopefully never) call for his help.
Luckily, he stumbles across Hob. Hob is an amazing earth bender, if not a formally trained one, and he spends his life wandering all across the world on his own. He uses his bending for banditry to get by and otherwise just wants to see the world. He doesn't really have a goal, though originally he just wanted to get as far away as possible from the woman (Eleanor) who broke his heart. It's really a miracle Dream found him at all.
Despite earth not being his naturally opposing element, it's the one Dream struggles the most with. He supposes it's because of the needed mindset. Earthbenders are known to be proud, and Dream feels he has no reason to be. To bend earth you have to face the element, and while Dream doesn't exactly run away, it's less in a I'm standing my grounds against it way and more in a I don't care if I get smothered to death by this boulder way. Hob knows that this is not a good attitude to have while bending earth (or any other element, he suspects), so he forced Dream to take a break from learning the elements and tries to teach him how to enjoy life instead. He manages to fascinate Dream with all his stories, to get him to look at the world (if not yet humanity) with awe, and Dream even opens up about some of his trauma, trusting that Hob will be there for him.
And one day, as Dream watches his earth bending master train, shirtless and sweating, his hair in a messy bun, Dream realizes he's in love. And he's scared. This is not good. He's done this before, twice even, and this is going to be a catastrophy. Damn it, he chose Hob specifically to prevent this! Why can't he ever be normal?
He spirals so hard that he accidentily enters the Avatar state for the first time in his life. He feels endless power flowing through him, uncontrolled, and he has only one throught: He can't hurt Hob. He needs to get away.
In his condition, this thought is all he needs to basically catapult himself away, flying through the air at an incredible speed, looking for somewhere to hide. He lands on top of a mountain, at the entrance of a cave and collapses. By the time he wakes up again, and remembers what happened, he decides it's not worth it to get up again. He's only gonna hurt someone or get hurt himself anyway. And so he remains, lying on the entry to that cave, not even properly shielded against wind or rain, just staying in the fetal position for days. And that's how Hob finds him.
This is such a great idea, and I love the way you've described each of Dream’s experiences in his training!!! I could really visualise each one. I am also going to link the art you made for it here, because it's magnificent and I am low-key obsessed with Earthbender Hob!!!!
I love the idea of Hob laboriously climbing the mountain in search of Dream, utterly relieved to finally find him. He scoops Dream up and hugs him so tight, and Dream is so exhausted and emotionally drained he just sinks into it and whimpers. He's ashamed of himself for being so weak. But Hob doesn't see it as weakness, not at all. He's just so incredibly, deeply relieved. He promises Dream that everything will be okay. He also tells Dream that he loves him. He has absolutely no idea if Dream loves him back (Hob is not the most observant Earthbender in the world). He just wants Dream to know that he IS loved. He'll gladly carry Dream down the mountain and take care of him until he feels better. Hob thought that he'd be happy to be alone for the rest of his life, but it's not true - he wants to be with Dream. As friends or allies or something more, whatever he can get. He wants to be with his forever.
It's a miracle that Dream doesn't go into the Avatar state all over again. Fortunately he's too drained and tired to do anything but wrap his arms around Hob’s shoulders. He has no idea what the future might hold, but the knowledge that he can have Hob forever... that makes it all a little easier to deal with. He suddenly feels quite willing to save the world. Because suddenly, the world really does feel worth saving.

I've always loved breaking games, figuring out how they work to exploit mechanics and even bugs, teasing apart and piecing together how systems work and interact with eachother to get what I want. But good lord I'd never be able to do shit as fast and on the fly has Sunraku does.
I've got so invested in this game that I literally had to pause the show on several occasions to let my mind wander and see if I could tease out a possible solution to something and the run up to Weathermon was perfect for this.
Vysache hinting at him being undead seemed to hint at the need for holy items
Setsuna's talk about her program inverting coordinates was a hint on when to find him but she specifically mentioned it as being the reason he was unkillable which was backed up by Pencil's talk of him being seemingly invulnerable which made me think
This was definitely going to start as a bit of a gimmick fight to get rid of his invulnerability. But how the hell would they go about flipping these cords back?
Pencil made it sound like he was only accessible during the night of the New Moon but the glimpses of the arena we got were in day light, so what if to start this flip was to push the fight into the night on his side, possibly reopening that rift used to get to his side, then lead him threw it to the real side of the arena where he'd be vulnerable.
But I needed to make an assumption about wider game mechanics
The show says nothing about how the in-game day/night cycle compares to the real world time but having it be 24-hour would just be annoying for anyone with a life outside the game with the different day/night mobs so it'd make sense for it to work on a 12, 8, 6, or 4 hour cycle having multiple in-game days per real-world day (but finally getting to the day of made it seem like it actually does have a 24-hour in-game clock which would honestly suck a little for what's supposed to be a "god tier game")
Which landed me on it being a waiting out the clock sorta thing, starting the fight towards the start of dawn to give yourself a shorter time to wait.
Which I guess, waiting out the clock was right but not for the reason I guessed.
It seems it was just his mechanical armor finally giving out from extended use. The release of steam during the first phase shift possibly from it beginning to overheat and then finally cracking during the second leaving the undead corpse underneath vulnerable to holy water for the real fight to begin. But even at that point it was still gimmicky, just not the passive survival and keepaway of the first 2 phases
Guess even such well thought out story would end up having some accidental red herrings caused by overthinking lore details. Can even be caused by its good writing itself, expecting more from how well everything leads into eachother and subtly gives hints you can start reading into some details that really are just flavor text
Didn't help that the show was withholding info with some nonlinear story telling to help moments land
My game mechanic/lore brain just sorta went overboard, it was still fun to think about and then to see how things actually worked
One thing I will say is I want to kick Sunraku for throwing a lore moment out a window and not questioning this Alice business further instead enraging Weathermon and triggering that never ending DM
Did love Weathermon's announcement of the finale win condition at the end of the DM cycle. God I can imagine that line becoming annoying for anyone who manages to actually get to this point repeatedly with little to no revives only to be hit with the completely unavoidable instakill move AGAIN
Finally getting around to watching Shangri-La Frontier and God it's so good, why'd it take me so long. The dub is priceless and feels so accurate, a shame there's no proper cursing but my brain can't help but swap them in anyway.
Just finished the Weathermon 4 parter and ough, I'm so invested in this game's story I almost wish it was a real game I could dig into the lore of.
Just love noticing details about the NPC dialogue that's done to make it feel so real yet still has it's limitations when you look for them. Like Emul's inability to understand alot of things Sunraku says not directly related to the game or when he's goofing off but manages to play it off in an enduring way that comes off as naive and then goes into huge rambles when a mechanic or character is mentioned and can even roughly follow some mechanic talk depending on how indepth it is and if not she can direct him to someone who knows more like one of the shop NPC's in the first episode did. It even helps play into her character flawlessly.
OH and the mention of Unique Monsters triggering special scenes that seem to be able to fast forward bits of the Unique side story if the right things are said. Like what Sunraku did to aquire the Moon Blades which seemed like it was supposed to happen way later from following the main sidequest but going for Weathermon and mentioning doing it to homor friends triggering a bit of dialogue and trust with Don Vysache reminiscing on his own connection with the now Grave Watcher
This show and game are so fucking well written
#Frin Speaks#Shangri-La Frontier#only realy related to the second half of the first paragraph so it's in tags but with MonHun World. It's my first MunHun#my friend Fizzy pointed to the dual blades when talking about how I like maneuverability and was slightly worried about how slow weapons ar#on several occasions had asked if I'd finally watched the moveset vids he had sent which i uh... hadn't. I even missed the slinger tutorial#wasn't till halfway threw my highrank grind to 50 HT that I finally check them out... oops#had managed to tease out basically all the basegame mechanics of it even if I wasn't fully conscious or even knew the name of the mechanics#spent all of low-rank chomping rations constantly to not deal with stamina downtime which confused the hell out of Fizzy#by the time of Xeno I wasn't anymore. managing to get down swapping in and out of Demon mode using archdemon to handle it's stamina drain#while not even realizing that that was the Archdemon mode Fizzy had been mentioning constantly#got literally nothing about the slinger tho other than that I could get slinger ammo from monsters using it

Archangel Raphael
Is it Crowley? Is it Aziraphale?
What if I said he is the both of them?
I know a little out there thing to say but it’s a theory i’ve had hanging around in the back of my head for a while now because the thing is,
Crowley seems to have held the rank Raphael has but Aziraphale shows more of his actions.
These two theories have been around for a while and at no point am I trying to take away from what people have put together. This is just for fun and silly purposes. and I wasn’t kidding when I said I’ve had this theory for a while and just didn’t know how to put it in words so it might not be the best.
But let’s just start with who is Archangel Raphael
Raphael
The Angelic Prince of Healing
Well let’s start at the beginning, or well before the beginning.
According to the Midrash Konen, before he was Raphael he was the angel Libbiel.
In this God gathers all their angels before Adam is created and hears their opinions. While some angels praised God for their creation others spoke out against it. The Angel of Love and the Angel of Justice were both in favor while the Angel of Truth and the Angel of Peace both objected.
For this the Angel of Truth is cast out Heaven by God. God then summoned a band of angels under Michael, Gabriel, and Libbiel. Both of the bands under Michael and Gabriel scornfully called out against the creation of man and were too cast out. Libbiel seeing what happened to those bands warned his own to call out in favor of creation of man and thus was rewarded with the new name, Raphael, for his efforts.
Raphael, the rescuer, Angelic prince of Healing.
This is just one story of Raphael, if we take a step outside religion but still the very important book, Paradise Lost by John Milton, we can find Raphael there as well.
He is the angel that comes to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to warn them against temptation. Through him we hear about the rebellion and war in Heaven. He eats with Adam and Eve and doesn’t just directly quote God but rather shares his own views and opinions.
An interesting and very important take on Raphael but let’s just jump back into the religious stuff.
In the First Book of Enoch he is the angel over the spirits of men and set over all diseases and wounds. He was instructed to bind Azazel and heal the Earth that has been corrupted by the Watchers.
In the bible Raphael was one of the three angels that appeared to Abraham in the oak grove of Mamre. His task was the heal Abraham and save Lot. (Genesis)
Though not identified with name he is credited to be the angel who periodically stirred the pool of Bethesda (John)
His main story though comes from the Book of Tobit. He acts as a guide on Tobias’s journey to Sarah disguised as a human peasant. On this journey they gut a fish that they then end up later using to expel the demon, Asmodus, and heal his father, Tobit. This is the story where most of his depictions come from including the one above.
In Jewish text, under the name Israfil, he is depicted as the angel who stands eternally with a trumpet on his lips waiting and ready to announce the day of judgement.
Wooh that was a quick run down. (pls correct me if any of this was wrong) But moving on for now.
Title Sequence
Disclaimer: Not main supporting evidence. Secondary at best. Really just something interesting that didn’t fit anywhere else.
Now before we get into how this all connects in the show I wanted to make stop to point out something from the s1 TS that I have never been able to explain away.
Both of them getting sucked up into the spaceship and then it burst into fish.
Fish huh? Interesting…
Gabriel’s Trial
This is the part that gives us some of the biggest pieces of evidence for a Very Highranking AngelCrowley.
Before we even get to the trial we have Crowley able to get into the file that only a throne, dominion, or above could access.
Then we have Gabriel saying he is “the only first order archangel in the room, or yknow the universe” with the immediate cut to Crowley. Visually this is a very obvious signal that this is something to pay attention to, foreshadowing that something is not right with this statement.
The clip above also gives us that this being would have been considered a Prince of Heaven.
Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Uriel, and the last three kinda vary. But we are just going to focus on these four anyway since that seems to be the number the show likes.
The only one missing from those four is Raphael and it seems that the Metatron still holds quite the grudge and memory of this being….*cut to Metatron glaring at Crowley*
But there is also something else we learn in this Trial.
That the name Gabriel is tied to his angelic status, a name he was about to lose along with his memories. A name he does end up losing while he doesn’t have his memories, getting replaced with Jim.
But one thing I did want to mention in this section before leaving, even if it didn’t happen during Crowley’s trip to Heaven, was when Michael says “there is always a Supreme Archangel.”
All of this has some very interesting implications of what happened in the past, and let’s not forget that Aziraphale was battling demons while all this was happening.
Now though that this has all been laid out let’s get into the meat of this.
Aziraphale and Crowley
yknow for this being about them I haven’t talked about them a lot lol. But let’s start at the beginning of them, the time one became two.
Originally they were written as one character, a fallen angel, until it was eventually changed into the two characters we know and love, Aziraphale and Crowley.
Now I’m not claiming to know what was going on in their heads during the creation process, just that the absence of a single prominent archangel when they were originally a single character is…interesting.
but that’s what got me thinking.
In Before the Beginning there doesn’t really seem to be a rank system more along the lines of groups that have certain jobs in the creation process of the universe. Not saying there wasn’t a ranking system but I doubt it was as large and complex as it is in present day.
However there is no denying the parallels that Gabriel and Crowley play to each other, particularly with their Angelic Ranking.
So what I’m proposing is that yes, Crowley was a very high ranking angel, perhaps on the same level as Gabriel - an angel named Raphael.
But he Fell, his name taken away from him in the process and he became Crawley.
With this though it left a space open, a Raphael shaped space up in Heaven and History. The Job of who Raphael was supposed to be.
A job that another certain angel seems to take up through his actions, Aziraphale.
Aziraphale’s name quite literally means “helper of Raphael” which technically he did do when he helped start up the star factory.
but even in that moment it was the two of them doing a job that was supposed to be only meant for one.
It’s a theme they continue throughout their years together, they cancel each other out, they take to doing each others jobs that never tip off the other side. They are the most powerful when they are working together, helping to stop Armageddon and the 25 Lazarii miracle they perform together. Two sides of the same, single coin.
The spot for Raphael was only meant to be held by one, the place Crowley held before the Fall. The place Aziraphale took up in the aftermath. There is always a Raphael.
However one does not just lose the power of being a first order archangel hence why Crowley is still so powerful.
The only one to realize this - The Metatron and well probably God too. Hence the need for at least Aziraphale back up in Heaven, as well as just keeping an eye on him.
and this really all just makes me want to point out that after Armageddon was diverted and they were out there on the bench and Crowley asks if God,
“Planned it all like this, very beginning.”
and I can’t help but say, yes. Two angels designed for the same role, one fallen and one not. Together they are complete and bound through history. Together they are the most powerful.

ALRIGHT.
Have some father daughter moments with Junto and my OC Tsumi.
Junto Takami Harima is a character from @sleepwalkersqueen‘s fanfic „Fear of You“ on Ao3.
Also… please don’t slander my English it’s been too long since I wrote something and @takami-flock did already too much when she proof-read. (love you <3)
Chocolate and life lessons
„Tsumi. Come here.“ ordered a voice Tsumi had known since she could first hear. It made her ears nearly immediately perk up. Her eyes turned away from her skeleton drawing to the source.
Her father was sitting in front of his desk in the same position that she had always seen. Paper stacks as high as ever.
She blinked before quickly getting up to walk up to him. Her head barely peeked over the shiny wood as her eyes noticed something sparkling on top of it.
A second later father pushed a small present towards her making her wings do little flaps. She had to get on her tippy toes to reach the little box. Her eyes were wide with wonder.
Tilting her head made it sparkle which brought a smile to her face when she turned back to her father.
„Thank you, daddy.“
„It is not mine.“ He revealed which made her halt. „Okane sent this to you. Make sure to bow and thank him the next time you see him.“ He explained absently while his eyes whipped over the various papers.
She frowned at him before glancing back at her present.
Okane.
„He was…“ she started while puffing her cheeks trying to remember the face to the name but couldn’t get a real visual in her head.
There were so many new faces on this boat.
Her ears caught her father‘s small sign which made her wings hug her shoulders a bit. „The highrank that was with us when we first tested your quirk.“ he told her as his cloudy eyes finally fell on her.
Widening her eyes she gulped before nodding. Her breath suddenly stuck in her throat while she gripped tighter onto her present.
Now knows who father was talking about. The man with the six dots on his neck. Still remembers his smile that had split his face in half. Oh, and those eyes that bored through her like she had been nothing. However even if he had been scary, his staff with a snake curling around it had looked cool. She would have loved to touch it.
Quietly avoided her father’s gaze when more fuzzy memories of the day came back to her mind though.
Father‘s warm hand pressing her on his shoulder. This metallic scent. The loud screams.
Quickly, rubs over her eyes and tries to push those thoughts back before noticing the small rips from her talons in the gift.
Without another thought, she ripped it open. Her eyes widened at the most decorated chocolates she had ever seen as her feathers trembled at their sight.
Their nice decorations nearly made her not want to eat them. Her mouth watered at the smell. Only nearly.
„Show me.“ Immediately she looked up to her father‘s voice and followed his request a second later. Wings flapped wildly as she climbed onto his lap before he picked her up to sit her down. One of his hands stayed on her back.
„They look so pretty.“ There was warmth all over her as she proudly showed her father the box. Her eyes wide with awe in her next sentence. „The ones at home never looked as pretty as these.“
„Well, they are indeed more special. A highrank gifting you something is very kind of them and doesn’t happen too often. You say, ‘I'm very grateful for your generous gift, Sir.‘ to him, understood? Exactly these words.“ He insisted.
She listened to him carefully before nodding.
„I'm very grateful for your g-gen… gener-“
„Generous.“
„Generous gift, Sir.“ she repeated carefully glancing up at her father for his approval.
However, his gaze was already back on those papers. The only answer she got was father’s soft hum as he absently went through her wings to brush away the dust.
The corners of her mouth pushed up as she turned her focus back to her present. Finding herself in a bit of a struggle to open the box which ended with one chocolate flying onto the papers as she ripped it open.
„Tsumi..!“
Her whole body froze from the harsh tone behind her before she made herself smaller. Her head hid between her shoulders.
„Sorry.“ She mumbled quietly.
The silence grew between them weighing her down as she could sense how father had stopped behind her.
After a moment she felt him snapping out of his state. In a quick motion he laid his pen away to grab the chocolate and hold it towards her.
Hesitantly took the sweet from his hand while she could still feel her wings staying tense behind her. Her ears caught her father’s soft sign as he picked the pen back up. His other hand moved through her feathers again trying to relax them with only some success.
Her father started to explain. „There are different flavors. Strawberry. Vanilla.“ She watched him point at them with his pen before writing another signature, slowly but steadily making her body relax again. „The one in your hand should be coffee…“ he told her.
„Ew.“ She scrunched her nose at it. Without a second thought she turned towards father and shoved it into his mouth. „You eat it, daddy.“
Father leaned away from it while baring his fangs at her and growling softly to make her pull away again.
„It’s not my gift.“ He spoke decisively.
She tilted her head before asking, „But what do I do with it?“
„You have to eat it. It wouldn’t be nice to not eat it.“
„But it's yucky…“ She pouted.
„Everything somebody gives to you is good. Especially if it's from a higher rank.“
She kicked her feet a little. „I don’t wanna…“
„Tsumi.“
A deep frown formed on her face from it. This tone again. Was she irritating him?
She never liked hearing him like that. Always remembered running after too fast footsteps and closing doors when father sounded like that. Quickly, blinked when she felt pressure form in her eyes.
With a frown, she glanced back at the chocolate while still feeling her father‘s warm hand on her wing. She took the coffee-flavored one in her mouth and grumbled because of the taste that was anything close to delicious. Still, gulped it down a second later.
„So it’s good?“, her father asked expectantly.
Her tongue was licking over her fangs trying to get rid of the taste and she really wanted to shake her head but instead, she nodded. „Yes.“
„That's my girl.“ Father praised her warmly which made her wings fluff up as she could hear father’s smile in his words.
After a second she noticed him laying his pen down again to give her another chocolate. Immediately opened her mouth for her father to feed her.
Humming satisfied she chewed on a strawberry flavor that made the coffee taste nearly completely vanish from her mouth. Father‘s hand rubbed circles over her back and she just instinctively cuddled closer into his warmth. His smell was so known to her that it relaxed her body in mere seconds.
Not a second later she felt him hold her closer which made her chirp happily.
„That's how life works, Tsumi. You have to force yourself through something bad to have the good things in it. Nothing just goes your way because of sheer luck. You have to work for it. You remember that, okay?“, he revealed to her.
Without thinking too much about it she just immediately agreed to him because her father had always been right.
„Okay, daddy.“
The next moment she pressed her face in his chest. Her whole world was dark and full of father‘s scent as she kept her talons out of his suit.
She would‘ve eaten hundreds of disgusting chocolates if it meant him staying with her.
Because everything would be fine with him near. She just knew it.

Scene from stormlight au 27, oathbringer to way of kings time travel au
“They didn’t bring their own bridges. They’re doing the tower assault with Sadeas,” Kaladin said in disbelief.
“So much for the Blackthorn’s honor, huh,” Moash said, sneering.
“That, and Sadeas is going to betray them,” Kaladin hissed, moving them further from the ears of passing soldiers. “He’s leading the entire Kholin army into a trap.”
Moash’s eyes widened, turning to watch rank upon rank of blue uniformed soldier march across Sadeas’s bridges.
“Then, this is the battle, the one where we…” Moash trailed off uncomfortably.
The men seemed to have largely decided that remembering a future wasn’t the same as predicting. Still it made them significantly more uncomfortable than the frantic radiant training in the chasms. He could hardly blame them, it made Kaladin uncomfortable too.
“It’s happening same as you remember?” Teft asked under his breath.
“Almost the same.” Kaladin grit his teeth. “It seems that since…El wasn’t able to convince Dalinar to change his plans, the idiot decided to come along for some storming reason.” He nodded at the figure in golden shardplate, massive shard hammer stapped to his back, nearby gold and blue standard waving in the wind.
“I think he gave up his blade,” Syl said, hand up in a humanlike gesture to shield her eyes from the sun. “It’s hard to tell from here, but…I don’t think he’s bonded with one anymore.
Moash froze. “Wait…the highranked lighteye who your friend replaced…El is King Elhokar?”
“I promised him I wouldn’t…” Kaladin shifted uncomfortably.
Moash grabbed his shoulders, leaning in close. “Kal, are you telling me King Elhokar is dead?”
“I -“ Memories of a palace floor, red with blood and light through crystal. Moash, spear in hand, those he swore to protect, killing eachother -
“I watched him die,” Kaladin whispered after a long pause, not meeting Moash’s eyes. “Please Moash, don’t ask me about this, not now.”
Syl tsked in disapproval, but didn’t say anything.
Moash let him go, stumbling back, watching the golden armor with an unfathomable expression. Kaladin wanted to say more, but didn't know what, and Matal was shouting at them to lift bridges.
At the next stop, he had word spread around that this was it.
“If things happen the same…”
He considered trying to reach Dalinar. If he revealed himself, flew over - but no. It was like Elhokar said. Dalinar was convinced that the Almighty himself had told him to trust Saddeus.
He could perhaps claim to be a messenger from the Heralds, explaining the vision? The radiance would help, Elhokar might back him up.
But even if the idea didn’t tie his stomach in knots, what if he ended up causing an outright civil war with his accusations? Tens of thousands could die before any desolation hit. Perhaps the King’s presence would be enough to give Sadeas hesitation in his treachery, but somehow Kaladin doubted it.
No wonder knowledge of the future is forbidden, he thought anxiously as they ran across another plateau.
“It’s not the same,” Syl whispered in his head, not showing herself, perhaps dancing in the air above the bridge. “I still don’t understand what happened, but this isn’t telling the future, not the way that’s forbidden.”
The men muttered softly amongst each other. A handful of the squires might manage a wobbling escape through the air, but they didn’t have enough stormlight between all of them to get away. They would have to bring the bridge, which would mean waiting until after the battle, a few of them flying back to rescue the wounded afterwards.
“The men are in agreement,” Sigzil said quietly. “If your friend is unable to stop Sadeas’s betrayal, then we will protect them.”
Kaladin’s heart swelled with pride as he looked over the men, meeting each man’s eyes and receiving a quiet nod from each in turn.
“They know there’s no guarantees? No certain reward? That they might be throwing away a much more sure chance at freedom for death?”
“They know,” Sigzil replied.
“We’ll still have to march with the retreat,” Kaladin said. “If we just stay there then we’ll be cut down, either by the Parshendi or by our own army. Probably both. If we can fake a few injuries during the initial charge, or temporarily avoid healing any that me or the squires get, it will help our case when we fall behind. Tell the rest of the squires to try and save their stormlight, if they can.”
A dozen more plateaus, a dozen more hushed conversations. At one point Kaladin turned to look at the Kholin army, only to find the King already staring at him. He felt a confused buzz of panic intermixed with relief run through him as they made eye contact for a moment.
I’m not alone in this. But my backup is Elhokar - how am I going to protect him - he’s probably the safest man on this battlefield, a Radiant in Shardplate with a full Kingsguard - he might be able to get the army to cut through to the landing sooner, reduce the casualties - another Shardbarer would help with that anyway - I can’t believe this is the best he could do - I absolutely can - surely he could at least change the battle tactics - but that would require strongarming Dalinar and Sadeas -“
He saw Sadeas ride up next to the King at multiple points throughout the long march. Maybe trying to convince him to turn back?
Perhaps his presence will be enough to prevent disaster. The men and I can escape another day, after we have a little more training. We’ll come back once everyone’s a squire, and their slavebrands heal. If we end the war, then there won’t be bridgemen anymore. Maybe I can convince the King to end slavery; he already passed that proclamation for bridgecrew shields...
He watched, groaning as the Kholin army, eight thousand men, among them three in shardplate with standardbarers, managed to get themselves cleanly surrounded, then abandoned.
Kaladin, again, pushed his way through to look at the eel himself.
The men tensed with barely restrained anticipation as the order to withdraw was given, hidden by bandages and unfaked exhaustion. Kaladin's wince came honestly as they lifted the bridge, narrowly resisting pulling in light to heal the cut on his arm.
“I’m sorry Old Friends,” Sadeas murmured. “I’ll make sure the Kingdom we built stays together, with a strong leader.”
Matel eyed the still dripping bandage with a pleased expression.
They staggered along behind the green coated army, screams at their back like a time keeping fabrial.
“I might be able to make some of the Parshendi army retreat, if I’m obvious with my powers,” Kaladin said, as Sadeas’s army slowly moved out of sight, bridge four looting the dead for weapons and gemstones with expert skill.
This time, Kaladin asked Matel to wait, for his bridge not to be left to angry Parshendi seeking vengeance if they fell behind. It was a slight risk, but - no, the idiot brightlord’s eyes were already lighting up, and bridge four didn’t even have to make it to the chasm edge before being fully abandoned.
“We’ll be right behind you,” Teft said, the rest of the men murmuring eagerly in agreement.
“You know you don’t have to -“ Kaladin offered one last time.
“We know, gancho,”
“Fly on, get out of here!”
“Life before death, life before death.”
“Let’s save those honorable idiots!”
“Show them what bridge four can do!”
Kaladin breathed in a quarter of the emeralds Elhokar had smuggled him on his last visit, nodded, then lashed himself back at the battlefield, quickly outpacing the men charging behind. Their honest cheers and whoops helped him believe for a moment that not all was lost between him and the men who he considered brothers. It had taken a little time, but they had started getting used to the even more haunted, slightly heretical man who had replaced their Captain.
As he had hoped, Elhokar was already leading the men to the chasm’s edge - with any luck they might reach the landing before the bridge got there.
He heard cries from the Parshendi as arrows flew his direction. With ease he pushed Stormlight into a borrowed shield, letting it fall, filling the sky with light before falling into shadow as a full volley engulfed it.
As he had hoped, the front ranks of archers were breaking. Better still, the second and third ranks had seen. Cries of Neshua Kadal spread throughout the army, and Kaladin dared to breath in almost all the rest of his remaining stormlight, blazing like a second sun as he lashed himself in an obvious arch above the Parshendi.
More cries, Listeners scrambling to get away at the edges; their song taking on notes of fear and awe. Mixed in with Neshua Kadal were various Herald’s names, as the Kholin army obviously spotted him.
He landed in a cloud of dust and stormlight on a rock formation between the chasm’s edge and the desperate human army. Forming Syl into an overly massive, unwieldy Shardeblade, he carved a massive boulder of cremcovered rock, then breathed deep, pulling in extra stormlight from the bravely approaching warpairs. He sent the boulder tumbling upwards and slightly to the side. Parts of the battlefield fell still, eyes drawn again upwards to the impossible.
A meteor, glowing with pale blue light before quickly fading to grey and falling with fury.
A tremendous series of crashes rang through the battlefield, the boulder rolling over the Parshendi troops awaiting bridge four’s arrival, clearing the landing and scattering terrified listener ranks before crashing into the chasm beneath with another earthshaking series of booms. He thought he could hear the crack of bones and carapace beneath the clamor, but it was likely in his head.
The Parshendi closest to Kaladin charged him desperately, but he took them down with ease, lashing them to fall amongst their own army, shouting and terrified but alive. One femalen managed to get within his guard, scoring a hit that quickly healed. He retaliated by burning her and her partner’s eyes out with a single swipe.
Come on, he thought desperately. Run, just, run.
Behind him, he saw his crew setting bridge four, having crossed the plateau with incredible speed. Some of them glowed faintly, and he could see another ripple of retreating Parshendi, though several lines of warpairs rallied, daring to charge them, likely hoping to overwhelm the small group and toss the bridge.
Across the battlefield, more listeners were falling away, warsong taking on notes of fear and confusion; but he could still hear the sounds of fighting and dying, his men at the chasm edge, the Kholin army almost on top of them. He flew to another rock formation on the armies buckling eastern flank, chopping one, two, three boulders as ammunition. Some of the infantry must have had gemstones on them, as light streamed from gems in both directions when he took a desperate, reaching gasp of stormlight.
Three more boulders fell among the parshendi in three directions, shaking the plateau, and finally, incredibly the song transitioned fully from uptempo vengeance and battle to retreat. In an absurdly short amount of time, the space around the Kholin army was empty, space where minutes earlier superior forces were crushing doomed Alethi invaders. It was everything that Kaladin could have hoped for, and it still left him stunned. Ten thousand Listeners, routed by a single windrunner.
The true voidbringers would never have run like that.
The Kholin army looked about in shock, calling out praise to the Almighty, to the Heralds - praise clearly shouted in Kaladin’s direction, much to his discomfort.
You did it! Syl said in his head. You protected even more of the Kholin army, and you avoided killing as many Listeners as possible!
Thousands still died. And the Alethi are going to see me up close soon. A radiant bridgeman. A man with slavebrands and a Shardblade. How soon before their adulation turn to confusion, then fear and hatred?
Exhaustionspren spun around him as he slumped, nearly falling to his knees. He caught himself at the last moment by summoning Syl as a gleaming metal staff, leaning heavily on her to stay upright as the last of his stormlight steamed away.
They won’t see me if I just stay up on this rock formation forever, he thought deliriously.
Syl sighed, staff buzzing slightly. “Nothing makes you happy, does it?"
A thump sounded behind him, and Kaladin spun to see Elhokar grinning at him, armour leaking stormlight in dozens of place, but no pieces missing. He smiled weakly at the King, cognizant of hundreds of eyes below on them. He moved slowly towards the king, who met him part way. He stumbled at the end, and Elhokar caught him, steadying his arm with a gentle gauntleted hand.
“I did try and stop my uncle,” he said. “He just…wouldn’t listen. The best I could do was join, and even then I half thought someone was going to tie me down to keep me from coming. I hoped Sadeas would change his plans if I was on the battlefield, but I might have made things more tempting.” He turned pained eyes into the distance.
I’m supposed to teach him to be a leader. Kaladin though blearily, and he forced himself to wave away the lingering exhausion. What would I say, if he was a squad sergeant under my command? The comparison was ridiculous, the sheer scale of lives on the line if the two of them failed making Kaladin nauseous.
“You did well,” Kaladin said softly, voice coming out more confident than he felt. “You can’t control everything; the important thing is taking care of those under your command to the best of your ability.” He nodded towards the Kholin army. “I’d guess more than a thousand soldiers are alive because of your actions.”
Elhokar straightened, grin returning. A single gloryspren spun around him like a golden crown.
“You were incredible,” Elhokar said, awespren replacing the glory. “I was practically unconscious when you fought in front of me before, but this time - you…you were like Jezrian come again.”
Kaladin grimaced in reply, then moved to change the subject.
“What next?” Kaladin asked.
The king blinked. “You’re asking me?” Then he flushed, looking down. “I mean…of course I’m king…it’s just…’
“You’re king. You’re my king,” Kaladin said encouragingly. “What do you think the threats to your men are?”
You have to coach him, you can’t just take command. He needs to take his own journey, for his own sake. He needs to be a King, for the kingdom’s sake.
“Some of the injured could still bleed out or succumb to injuries, but my uncle’s taking care of marshaling the survivors. The Parshendi could come back, but I doubt it. Obviously the desolation, but that’s a slightly longer term threat. Near term, Sadeas…Sadeas wants Dalinar out of the way,” he grimaced. “My presence here makes the situation more complicated. This…could mean all out civil war.”
Kaladin nodded, but Elhokar wasn’t done.
“And you and your men. Sadeas will want revenge on you, for helping us.”
He smiled at the King. Not long ago I doubt he would have thought of bridgeman as people. Then again, he does know they’re prospective windrunners…still progress.
“What’s the best way to handle Sadeas?” He asked, pit in his stomach already suspecting the answer.
“A show of force, before they get back to camp,” Elhokar answered promptly, gaining confidence as he spoke. “He should return already knowing he’s in a position of weakness, that his ploy failed utterly. If we wait to confront him at camp then I’ll either come off as an unbearably weak King, or I’ll be forced to discipline him publicly, which will back him into a corner and essentially force civil war anyway.”
Kaladin nodded again, swallowing back bile. “Fortunately, you have a man who was able to scare away an entire Parshendi army under your command.”

Ngl, i really like the idea of all the other elves just.... chronically de-aging the silvan and avari elves they meet. Everytime they come incontact with one they always think they’re millenia younger than they really are. At this point the silvans and avari have just given up on correcting them.
The Noldor and Sindar, who stayed in ME post first age: oh, Oropher is just a young adult who was born in the protection of Melian’s girdle and Elu’s court who has no real world experience and hates kinslayers!
Oropher, one of the elves who awoke at the lake, followed Elwe to look out for him bc he was his godson, and was one of the leaders of the factions of elves before Orome found them: uhuh
The Noldor and Sindar, who stayed in ME post battle of the last alliance: oh Thranduil is just a big child woth no experience and is a hauty drunk.
Thranduil, who was born in the age of the trees alongside his twin Miriel and babysat the -we’s, who decided to stay with his mother amongst the silvans when the elves went on their great journey to valinor: ok...
The Noldor and Sindar, who witnessed legolas participate in the fellowship of the ring: Legolas is such a young elf! Practically a baby! He didn’t even witness the Battle of the Last alliance! He’s so sheltered in Mirkwood!
Legolas, youngest of 4, born a millenia before the end of the second age, babysat Elrond’s kids, is a highranking official in Greenwood’s army, has been holding back sauron for centuries: Sure.

I am so delighted that in the new episode the music piece they played was the Radetzky march?!
The Radetzky march, named after Josef Radetzky of Radetz who was a famous and successful austrian field marshall, was composed by famous austrian musicianJohann Strauss senior after the revolutions and the royal army's sucesses in Austria in 1848. The first time the Radetzky march was performed, they say the people who heard it were so hyped, they demanded it to be played again and clapped their hands in sync with the beat which sorts of became a tradition. Nowadays the Radetzky march is still very popular, though not as specifically associated to the military anymore. It still hypes people up. So long story short, this piece of music has connected to the military, therefore fit to be played in a fight-adjacent sports match, it is commonly useful to get the crowd to cheer, which fits with the excuse to play it Sebastian used, and it has these very specific beats that they needed for the strategy. It's a perfect fit!
Also on top of that, this is not the first time Sebastian shows he's familiar with something typical of Austrian culture. Remember when he taught Ciel the waltz? He mentioned that he had been to in Vienna, dancing waltz in the number one city of waltz. I'm wondering, does this mean he had a contract with a highranking member of Viennese society? The austrian hightime of waltz and such was roughly at the same time as the victorian era in England. So if he did, then his contract there was quite recent. It's very interesting.

I remember the oct 11th vote...ohhhhhhhh BOY. Esther, time to reap what you've sown.
I understand her motivations, but it's clear that she's focusing on what SHE wants, and herself alone, which is completely antithetical to how clans (and most societies tbh) work.
Wanting to be a Cleric, yet refusing to learn medicine. Wanting to be a prophet, yet failing to understand that Starclan and the DF are very, very different from her own Gods.
Her ableism is painfully realistic, which I must applaud! I love when the non-overt forms of bigotry are displayed within media.
And her kits...oh, she's NEVER going to be able to fix their relationship. Being an abusive parent (ableism and bigotry is inherently abusive) is already setting fire to the bridge, and MURDERING TWO PEOPLE? The two highranks of Rippleclan, no less?
The first deputy, Weedfoot? A legendary cat who was a short ways away from retiring? A mother to many, a grandmother to even more? Yeah, she suffered a gore-filled death because of Estherfern.
And yeah, Downstar isn't Dead dead, but if she wasn't blessed with extra lives, she'd be buried with Weedfoot.
TLDR: rest in pieces Estherfern, you've fucked up BAD, and super lucky that you aren't being executed.
I love seeing your responses, you put so much thought into them! My plans for Estherfern aren’t exactly what you’re thinking though. She’s not the focus of that vote.
Because as of Moon 75, Honeybuzz isn’t telling anyone what she did.
It’s similar to the Rapidleaf situation. Right now, Honeybuzz sees no good coming from exposing Estherfern’s mistakes. It takes effort to quiet the apprentices, but a promise of revealing information later has placated them for now. A lot of it comes from what Honeybuzz overheard during Estherfern’s conversation with the Herald (the thing Estherfern summoned). While Estherfern did summon the creature that killed Weedfoot and Downstar, it was far from her intention. She didn’t even realize the connection until the Herald pointed it out to her. She also flat out refused to kill anyone else, wanting her children to love her, not hate her.
Yes, Estherfern was cocky. She thought herself above the others in skill. She thought StarClan and the DF were just afterlives with empowered cats residing there, as nuanced as any other cat. But I wanted to symbolize her realization of these mistakes by having her destroy the summoning den. She is smothering those poor intentions, those mistakes, that selfishness and superior attitude. And Honeybuzz wants to give her a chance.
I’m very happy with the depiction of her ableism. Estherfern has good intentions, fearing for the future and success of her kits if they lack the same strengths as the rest of society, but again, her own self-centered nature made her blind to the supportive community she joined, alongside the ways her kits were working against that. The bridge is burnt, but I wanted to show with the Harvest Moon scene that Estherfern is bringing in new wood, wood from a healthy tree, rather than the sickly wood of that old bridge. She is meeting her children where they are and accepting their differences.
I hope I finish Estherfern’s big arc well, even if it doesn’t go the way you may expect. Thank you for the love!

Okay, but not only Don has two Director ID now, she also seems to be one of the most highranking Inquisitor and after we learnt that in Wings ranking system is opposite from Fixers, W Don turned out to be higher in rank than W Meursault and W Faust(and her ID story story states that Faust works in company longer than Don, and yet Don managed to outrank her).
She is way more capable than you can think.
#limbus company#project moon#don quixote#that made me think wouldn't it be hilarious if she's the one to get Nicolai ID
