an alchemy of ore & eu de parfum : how i imagine cybertronians react to human perfume (afab!reader) (nsfw!)
most of the lost light crew only knew about it in passing. rumor was that before the war, the wealthy would import organic plants from off-worlds to extract their oils: steam distillation, boiling, maceration. of course, it wasn't very popular when the planet's atmosphere lacked the proper gases. without volatile elements in the air like oxygen, the exotic scents hardly smelled like anything. it didn't stick against their armors the way it clings onto organic skin. so it became a short-lived experiment that barely dented the surface of the planet's long history of achievements. mechs, trying to replicate organic perfume. it sounded ridiculous.
until perceptor caught a whiff of it: phantom light, brushing against his olfactory sensors. he lifted his helm, finally compelled to tear his optics away from the datapad to look at the human liaison. he inhaled experimentally, failing to be discreet. embarrassed, you tell him it's the new bottle of body wash you've tried: a mixture of wild violets and pink hibiscus. do you like it? he thinks of strange fragile flowers, drifting under the wind. perceptor nearly missed the question, slowly nodding as you leaned closer in worry. it took the mech a lot of self-restraint to not pull you flush against him when the new, alien fragrance hits him square in the chassis like a bullet.
minimus drags his human's wrist across his intake, peppering light kisses along the skin. it was where the sweet, smoky odor was strongest, luring him closer. with you sprawled across his lap: trembling, laughing at the ticklish sensation, minimus couldn't contain the small, helpless groan that escaped him. shamelessly tipping your chin down to press your lips against his. the fragrance of mandarin and jasmine, crowding the space between your bodies. the scientist hovered above your shoulders, mouthguard grazing the junction where your neck meets your jaw. brainstorm tightened his grip against your wrists, pining it above your head. he wants to melt into you, to drown in the overwhelming scent of amber. tyrax, benzoin; he knows they're just a cluster of chemical reactions coming to life along the curve of your collarbones. bonds breaking and fracturing to release something tangy, saccharine. but you're telling him that bulgarian rose, sandalwood — foreign, outlandish names of floras he'd never heard about before was making you smell celestial ? he was the universe's biggest heathen, but primus, save him. you were wiggling underneath his frame, back flat against the pristine table. he says he wants to run a few experiments, noticing how your pupils respond by widening, skin prickling with excitement.
he's trying to be gentle, servos encasing your hip to lower you down his spike. megatron watches as you take him, inch by inch. with your back pressed against his chest plate, he could feel the thrum of his spark against the line of your spine as it bows and curves in pleasure. as you spread your legs further to sink further, he rewards you with a kiss — brushing your hair aside to press his intake against the pulse point beneath your ear. and he tastes it, or rather, breathes it in. he didn't need to, but when your sweat mixes itself with the perfume you always wore: bergamot and peony, he inhales and loses himself even more.
the habsuite reeked of sex, and it crowded the air: humid and heavy, whirl's optic nearly offlined at how obscenely wet you were around his spike. already drunk on your pheromones. so when he lifted both your legs higher — up to his shoulders — to fit himself up to the hilt, whirl didn't expect to catch a whiff of your perfume around your ankles. you whined, a high-pitched, desperate sound, when he stopped thrusting to press his enstril against your achilles heel. that was enough for him to snap. he hoisted you up into a mating press, driving into you with a new kind of vigor. 'you did this on purpose', he emphasized by roughly grabbing your ass to push further into your already trembling cunt. causing you to moan into the dark. 'you knew we'd end up here. like this. filthy, little —'
sicilian mandarin and citrus musk. you made a mental note to yourself to wear the combination around your lover more often.
a/n : for @robot-horde because you're brilliant and left a comment on the tags of this post and it just inspired me to make more.

While the purity of Camellia Sinensis is a marvel in itself, the world of tea extends far beyond the simple leaf that is often called a True Tea. Let's talk about flavor-infused tea.
Infused tea
The practice of infusing tea with flavors dates back centuries, with evidence of flavored teas found in ancient Chinese and Indian cultures. Early methods of infusion involved adding herbs, spices, or flowers directly to the tea leaves during steeping. Over time, more sophisticated techniques were developed, such as extracting essential oils from aromatic plants and adding them to the tea.
Today, infused teas are typically created using one of two methods:
Direct Infusion: The most common method involves adding dried herbs, spices, or fruits directly to the tea leaves before steeping. This allows the flavors to infuse naturally into the tea, creating a harmonious blend.
Flavoring Oils: Essential oils extracted from aromatic plants can be added to the tea after steeping. This method allows for precise control over the intensity of the flavor and can be used to create subtle or bold infusions.
One of the most renowned flavor-infused teas is Earl Grey, a black tea infused with the fragrant oil of bergamot orange. The citrusy notes of bergamot dance harmoniously with the rich, full-bodied flavor of black tea, creating a truly exquisite beverage. Earl Grey is a versatile tea that can be enjoyed hot or iced, and it pairs well with a variety of foods.
Aside from Earl Grey, the world of flavor-infused teas is vast and varied. From the delicate floral notes of jasmine tea to the bold fruity flavors of berry teas, there is a flavor combination to suit every palate.
Pictured above: (top) Jasmine infused green tea from Fujian Tea Import & Export Co., (bottom) Blood Orange herbal tea from Harney & Sons Fine Teas. [Blend: Apple pieces, rose hips, hibiscus, beetroot, orange peel, orange flavor, marigold petals, safflower petals.]
Some of the other popular flavor-infused teas include:
Jasmine Tea: A green tea infused with jasmine flowers, offering a delicate floral aroma and a slightly sweet taste.
Chai Tea: A black tea spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger, creating a warm and comforting blend.
Fruit Teas: A variety of teas infused with fruit flavors, such as strawberry, raspberry, or peach, providing a sweet and tangy taste.
Fruit teas are excellent for cold-brewed iced tea. I will cover cold-brewing later, so please look forward to that.
When choosing a flavor-infused tea, consider your personal preferences and the occasion. A delicate floral tea might be perfect for a relaxing afternoon, while a bold and spicy chai tea could be a comforting choice on a cold day.
The choice of infusion depends on the desired flavor profile and the characteristics of the ingredients being used. For example, delicate floral flavors may be best achieved using direct infusion, while strong, bold flavors can be created using flavoring oils.
If you wish to create your own infused tea, that will have to be a separate post. For now, it is enough to be able to identify the tea you are brewing so that you can handle it appropriately.
Brewing infused teas requires a balance of technique and intuition. First, identify the ingredients. When brewing a cup of tea, it's good to know what temperature and length of time to steep your tea for.
A tea labeled "Peach" may be a white tea with peach flavoring, and it may be best to brew it at a temperature appropriate for white tea. Blends may consist of varying ingredients that require different temperatures, so some experimentation may be in order to find the best brewing temperature to get the most of each flavor.
Herbal tea
Beyond the True Tea, there lies a world of herbal teas, each offering a unique blend of flavors and health benefits. Herbal teas are made from a variety of plants, including herbs, spices, and fruits. They are often enjoyed for their medicinal properties, as well as their delicious taste.
As no part of an herbal tea contains the Camellia Sinensis plant, these teas are not considered "True Teas". That does not mean we cannot enjoy them, however.
For the most part, an herbal tea will not contain any caffeine, unlike the tea produced from the Camellia Sinensis plant. This makes them more suitable to enjoy in the evening or late hours.
Pictured above: (from top to bottom) Roses, honeysuckle, chrysanthemums, mint and lavender.
Some popular herbal teas include:
Chamomile Tea: Made from chamomile flowers, this tea is known for its calming and relaxing properties.
Peppermint Tea: Made from peppermint leaves, this tea is refreshing and aids digestion.
Ginger Tea: Made from ginger root, this tea is warming and can help soothe an upset stomach.
Hibiscus Tea: Made from hibiscus flowers, this tea has a tart, fruity flavor and is rich in antioxidants.
As with many blends, it is helpful to experiment a little with the temperature and steep time to get the most of your tea. Intuition will follow experience.
The ideal steeping temperature for infused teas and herbal teas can vary depending on the specific ingredients and desired flavor intensity. However, here are some general guidelines:
Delicate floral or fruity teas: 175-185°F (79-85°C)
Bold, spicy teas: 195-212°F (90-100°C)
Herbal teas: 175-212°F (79-100°C), depending on the specific herbs used
Serving suggestions: Cream is usually not served with fruit teas, as the acidity in some will cause the milk to curdle. Lemon slices are commonly served with Earl Grey, however, as with the fruit tea, lemon can also cause cream to curdle. Sugar or honey are appropriate for nearly any tea.
It's always a good idea to experiment with different temperatures to find the perfect brew for your taste. I hope this has been informational and helpful to my students who wish to become better acquainted with tea.

For all who want to look like you drink blood:
May I recommend hibiscus tea? It's delicious hot or cold, and I personally love to drink it made with ginger, sugar, and a splash of orange extract. The hibiscus makes it a deep red and everything else makes it taste citrussy and sweet. It also has health benefits according to several sources including the Cleveland Health Clinic, Tea drops, and National institutes of health* such as anti-inflammatory properties and lowering blood pressure.
HOWEVER
If you do make this blood-looking tea, know that it is very acidic because of both the orange extract and the flowers themselves. I recommend not using a plastic cup because it will start to eat at it if it sits. Use metal, glass, or anything else. Make sure to drink water too. Not necessarily because of the tea, but because it's important.
Other than that, enjoy!
*If you look into these sources, they mention weight loss. I implore you to do your research before doing anything for your health. I am not a doctor and I did extremely minimal research.*

Flowers bloom.. and so are you
Colors make our life more exciting and creative. Colors bring life, and sometimes give us hope in our mess up world. But what if these colors have shapes? Fragrance? What if these colors were combined with mysteries in the world such as.. sciences?
Flowers. The silent speakers of love.
Ever since we were children, flowers have never failed to amaze us from their scientific structures to their philosophical meaning in life. It plays a significant role not just in our environment but also in its relationship with people. Flowers are the reproductive system of flowering plants. Just like us, flowers have different ranges of color, sizes, and form. They bloom in their own way, and they are equally beautiful and unique.
And if no one ever expresses their love to you through flowers, may you be reminded who is the most important person who should give that to you. You.
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis
Hibiscus or Gumamela, also known as tropical hibiscus, have different colors and represent different significance, especially in history. Purple hibiscus are tied in royalty, knowledge and wisdom. The yellow hibiscus usually found in Hawaii and represents joy, friendship, and happiness. Pink hibiscus represents platonic love. Lastly, red hibiscus symbolizes love, passion, and relationships. Hibiscus grows in soils with good drainage as well as moist roots.
Bougainvillea spectabilis
This flower usually has green and oval leaves and often color pink. This flower has medical and ornamental purpose. This flower’s extraction was used to control fertility. Anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antihepatotoxic, antibacterial, antioxidant, antihyperlipidemic, and antiulcer activities are also reported to be present in Bougainvillea spectabilis.
Lagerstroemia indica or Crepe-Myrtle
All summer long, the deciduous Purple Crape Myrtle shrub (Lagerstroemia indica 'Purpurea') offers a lovely purple hue! The striking purple display that this Crape Myrtle puts on every year is undoubtedly its best feature.
“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”

Best Time to Drink Hibiscus Tea for Weight Loss and Its 10 Health Benefits
The Weight Loss Clock
What Is Hibiscus Tea?
Hibiscus Tea, also known as ‘sour tea,’ is made from the hibiscus plant's dried flower parts, leaves, and seed pods. These pods contain the seeds and are important for making the tea. Hibiscus tea has a mix of sweet and sour flavors, making it perfect for hot or iced drinks. That’s why it’s becoming more popular in the health routines of millennials.
Does hibiscus tea reduce belly fat?
Hibiscus tea has compounds like polyphenols that can speed up your metabolism, which means your body burns calories faster. Also, it may help lower the absorption of fat and carbohydrates, leading to less fat storage, especially around your belly. However, remember, it’s not a quick fix. Drinking hibiscus tea should be combined with a balanced diet and regular exercise for the best results in losing belly fat.

Is hibiscus tea good for the skin?
Yes, hibiscus tea is good for the skin! It’s packed with antioxidants that help fight damage from pollution and the sun. These antioxidants can keep your skin looking young and fresh. Plus, hibiscus tea has vitamins and minerals that promote healthy skin, like vitamin C, which boosts collagen production for a smoother complexion. So, sipping hibiscus tea can help keep your skin glowing and healthy.

Top 10 Reasons Why Hibiscus is Good for You
1. Packed with antioxidants
The hibiscus plant has lots of good stuff like beta-carotene, vitamin C, and anthocyanin, all antioxidants. These antioxidants are super helpful for your health. Hibiscus is rich in powerful antioxidants and may help prevent damage and disease caused by the buildup of free radicals.
2. May help lower blood pressure
One of the best-known health benefits of hibiscus tea is that it helps in lowering blood pressure in humans. Several clinical studies have shown that having hibiscus tea regularly helps in reducing systolic and diastolic pressure. However, it is not advised for those who are already on the diuretic ‘Hydrochlorothiazide’ as there might be a risk of interaction.
3. May boost liver health
Hibiscus helps keep the liver healthy, according to several studies. The extract protects the liver from a variety of toxins, likely due to its powerful antioxidant activity. It’s even demonstrated some anti-cancer activity in laboratory tests of liver cells.

4. Aids Weight Loss
If someone wants to shed a few pounds, hibiscus tea might be a helpful addition to their routine. Several studies of hibiscus tea have shown promise in weight management and protection against obesity. It could lead to weight loss, reduced body fat, and improved body mass index. However, these studies have used concentrated doses, so more research is required to establish the benefits of hibiscus tea for weight management.`
5. Improve Cholesterol Levels
High Cholesterol is another health problem that affects millions of adults and contributes to serious diseases like heart attack and stroke. While some clinical studies have shown hibiscus lowers cholesterol levels, others have shown little effect. Hibiscus tea may help maintain healthy cholesterol levels, but once again, we need more research to be sure.
6. Lowers Blood Fat
In addition to lowering blood pressure, some studies have found that hibiscus tea may help improve blood fat levels, which can be another risk factor for heart disease.
7. Boost Immune System
Hibiscus tea, also known as pink tea, is really good for making your immune system stronger. It has lots of vitamin C, which is great for keeping your immune system healthy. Plus, it has iron that helps your immune system stay balanced and keeps your red blood cells healthy. Also, hibiscus tea fights inflammation and bacteria, which also helps boost your immunity.
8. Healthy, Glowing Skin
Hibiscus tea provides vitamin C, which benefits the skin. It promotes the production of collagen in the body. It is also a good source of an antioxidant called myricetin that helps reduce collagen breakdown. Moreover, hibiscus tea contains an antioxidative called anthocyanin, which helps reduce oxidative stress. Thus, it will also slow down the signs of skin aging and is a great way to detoxify the body.
9. Improves Heart Health
Hibiscus tea can also promote a healthy heart. While it’s no replacement for prescription medication, the tea has been shown to help support healthy blood pressure levels in those who have high blood pressure. If you’re under a lot of stress, a nice cup of hibiscus tea might be just the ticket. This tropical tea may help promote healthy cholesterol levels (high-density lipoproteins) in those with high cholesterol. Hibiscus tea may also help regulate the “good” HDL cholesterol and the “bad” LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. We need more science before we can say for sure, but human studies have shown promising results. In any case, an evening cuppa certainly won’t hurt.
10. Helps Keep Hair Healthy
Hibiscus tea has stuff called antioxidants that make melanin, which gives your hair its natural color and stops it from going grey too soon. Plus, it’s full of vitamin C, which helps make collagen and grow hair. The amino acids in the tea make more red blood cells, which helps your hair roots stay healthy by improving blood flow.
Hibiscus Tea Side Effects
It’s important to know what natural supplements work for you and which ones don’t. While hibiscus tea has many health benefits, it’s not suitable for everyone.
If you have low blood pressure, it’s best to avoid hibiscus tea. The same goes for people with high blood pressure who take the medication Hydrochlorothiazide, as hibiscus tea might interact with it.
If you’re recovering from surgery or taking medication to control blood sugar, it’s strongly advised not to drink hibiscus tea.
Hibiscus can also affect estrogen levels, which may impact menstrual cycles. It could be helpful for those with irregular periods or painful cramps, but it might not be safe for others. It’s a good idea to check with your OB-GYN before trying hibiscus tea.
Pregnant women should avoid hibiscus tea because it can cause periods and increase the risk of miscarriage. It’s also best to avoid it if you’re breastfeeding or taking birth control pills.
Conclusion
Hibiscus tea is a delicious treat any time of day. The slightly sour taste is full of tang, the color a true treat when you want to serve something bright and beautiful, and all the health benefits come in as a bonus. From a delicious cocktail base to a cozy cup on the sofa, hibiscus tea is the perfect reminder of how plant power can be the perfect remedy.

Postcards from Snagglepuss
And you're asking how the Easter parade in Gatlinburg went
INSIDE CATTANOOGA KLATSCHE, GATLINBURG, TN: To answer such a question as many of you were probably asking ... With partly cloudy skies for the most part, the day turning out rather beautiful, many of the trees in the Smoky Mountains starting to go into bloom for the most part, and a few of the black bears starting to come forth from hibernation.
It may not have been the Pasadena Doo-Dah Parade, or even those on the likes of New York's Fifth Avenue or the Atlantic City Boardwalk (especially in earlier, more glamourous times), but the choice of route (as in the section of the Parkway between the split of US 411 and 441 and the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park--more or less Beautiful Downtown Gatlinburg, to paraphrase Gary Owens from back on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In back in the day) pretty much attracted considerable curiosity from the Easter weekend crowd in the Queen Mother of Tourist Traps.
In keeping with Easter Parade tradition, it was more or less walkabout all along the Parkway, waving to the somewhat confused crowd wondering what the whole was about to begin with (though you had plenty of meet-and-greet and selfie opportunities among the characters). Naturally, the Cattanooga Cats "themselves" led the parade, real informal like, no welcoming banner ... but even then, Kitty Jo couldn't resist the selfie opportunities. Or even Scoots, for that matter; it seems Scoots, considering his modest stature, must have something of a liking, even if his storytelling wasn't fascinating enow.
And you could imagine the reaction of the crowd to the presence of yours truly, Huckleberry Hound and Crazy Claws strolling the Parkway ... or even Augie Doggie on the shoulders of his doting Doggie Daddy ... Top Cat and clowder, with Choo-Choo and Fancy-Fancy getting their share of fan attraction ... Peter Potamus and his diving enterouge, with plenty of the crowd rather surprised that Peter was an amazing diver in his own right ... Penelope Pitstop, kissing plenty of spectators ... those Banana Splits, quite the cutups (even Drooper going into the "Super Drooper" routine near the Gatlinburg Space Needle, to the bemusement of fans) ... Scooby-Doo and crew ... perennial crowd favourites, the Hair Bear Bunch ... Lori, Gator, Braveheart and Inch High, Private Eye ... Hong Kong Phooey, with a silly little tweaking of tai ch'i ... Captain Caveman and his cousins, the Slag Brothers, "going ape" and liking it ... you couldn't help but resist the Skatebirds going the inline-skating act ... even Kwicky Koala taking things a bit on the Aussie side by throwing Cherry Ripe and Freddo Frog bars to the crowd, as well as packets of Throaties (a popular Australian brand of throat drops), not to mention The Bungle Brothers doing Abbott and Costello justice with their "Who's on First?" routine with George in Bud Abbott's role and Joey doing Lou Costello's.
(Seems that for some reason, some in the crowd were rather surprised to discover what said Cherry Ripe bars were like, basically mashed cherries, dessicated coconut and dark chocolate. And for a lucky few, Kwicky "himself" passed out boxes of classic Australian snack crackers Jatz and Vita-Weat.)
After the parade ended, or some resemblance thereof, Kwicky Koala got out a box of another iconic Australian staple--Sanitarium Weet-Bix cereal, not quite Shredded Wheat but rather interesting by itself. Even if they turned out a little like glue in the end.
And the Cattanooga Cats dishing up typically Southern smoked ham for dinner, along with cheesy hash browns, green bean hot dish--and Kitty Jo's storied chess pie for dessert. Washed down with lemonade blended with hibiscus flower extract--what could get more interesting, to begin with?
And you can imagine how the crowd felt at the sight of the parade, otherwise not promoted well beforehand.

Homemade hibiscus tea is something i wish i had in my life sooner. Like, i've had it in commercial form and loved it, but i never actually made it myself from real flowers from the yard. Tonight was my very first time. It was amazing. I got to watch them change color when the boiling water hit, and then the water changed color when i added lemon juice! It's crazy! And the tea itself tastes like a fucking dream. Just the right amount of sweet. Highly recommend it. Just grab about 4 flowers, rinse them off real good (ants might be hiding in them) and remove the petals. Get rid of the other parts. I steeped mine for about 5 minutes and then pressed the petals in a separate glass to extract extra tea. I might steep it for longer next time for a more intense taste.

Known as the “Perfume Capital of India,” Kannauj has been producing attar, or natural perfumes, for centuries. This fragrant tradition is deeply rooted in the cultural and historical fabric of the region. If you’re curious about the world of attar and the manufacturers behind these captivating scents, this article will take you on a fragrant journey through Kannauj.
What is Attar?
Attar is a concentrated perfume made from natural ingredients such as flowers, herbs, spices, and wood. Unlike synthetic fragrances, attars are alcohol-free and are often crafted using traditional methods, making them a beloved choice for many who seek authenticity in their scents. Each attar carries a unique story, often reflecting the local flora and the artisanal techniques passed down through generations.
The Historical Significance of Kannauj
The tradition of attar-making in Kannauj dates back to ancient times, with its roots traced back to the Mughal era. It is said that the city was a hub for perfumers who were commissioned by royalty and nobility to create bespoke fragrances. Over the years, this art form has evolved, yet the essence of traditional craftsmanship remains intact.
Kannauj’s unique climate and fertile soil contribute to the growth of aromatic plants, making it an ideal location for attar production. The city’s rich history, combined with its natural resources, has paved the way for a thriving industry that attracts both local and international customers.
