"oh yeah pow cards and power levels ultimately don't matter who really cares about tha-" what was the episode 'you are level 100' then. tell me. right now. what was that episode. how does a card measure power if it labels negatives as a villain and positives as a hero. does it not also measure morality in this case? are neutral people just considered the weakest by the system???
#out of these shadows(ooc)#i am fairly confident whatever society the ok ko world has likely contributed to the mindset pv has now#this is also failing to mention that there is places just for heroes and places just for villains and theres neutral areas#“prinny; ok ko doesn't take itself seriously” i kNOW!!! and i think about this anyway

Okay, I'm gonna actually go off about the Prinny 2 voice actor thing that i cut off in that drawing, nerd shit under the readmore
See here's the thing about the Prinny 2 voice actor thing that really annoys me. So like yeah, everyone sounds rlly weird and off, Flonne is the closest one they got right but she was still clearly voiced by someone trying her best to sound like Sandy Fox, Hero Prinny and Larharl were honestly dreadful to listen to, BUT the real kicker is Asagi. If you know anything about the Disgaea and related series, Asagi will always make an appearance but usually with a different voice entirely, she's basically just a joke character about never getting her own game(then they actually made Makai Wars and it was a fucking gacha game??? Heinous). Asagi has a rlly good English VA in Prinny:CIRBTH, honestly, and in Prinny 2 she gets a whole extra story mode, Asagi Wars, where you play as Prinny Asagi after she died at the end of Asagi Mode in Prinny 1, and there's a line at the very beginning of Asagi Wars where Asagi says " I've got the same voice for the first time, but now I'm a faux penguin🎵" which is a fun little throwaway line about her recurring VA joke, BUT SHE DOESN"T HAVE THE SAME ENGLISH VOICE IN PRINNY 2!!!! She has a completely different and honestly just plain bad voice in Prinny 2 and it bothers me to no end, especially with how good her Prinny 1 VA was.
anyways that was the final bit of my rant that wasn't included in that drawing

top five things YOU have written 🫵🫵 that you're ok with sharing ofc :3
That's a very difficult and interesting question, thank you! :) I don't really know if I can pick five and rate them in a set hierarchy. I like many things I write, shorter and longer, finished and unfinished, so here are 5 that come to mind:
I don't write for it very often, but what I write, I enjoy writing a lot. The early 19th century AU which I came up with for @nordleuchten in which a few generations ago the Stuarts managed to produce some sort of heir, making the Hannovarians bog standard German provincial rulers instead of British monarchs. The man you know as George III and his heir, Prinz Georg stand to inherit the throne as it is expected that the Stuart line will come to an end in their lifetime. Georg is pretty much good old Prinny, who however decides to take drastic measures when he finds that being patronised by his dad as a grown man has become insufferable. He decides to take an alias and join the British navy, because what else cries freedom so much as watching romantic sunsets at sea? In the act of leaving clandestinely, he is caught by one Karoline von Braunschweig, a beloathed cousin acting as his mother's lady-in-waiting. Georg takes to life at sea like a duck to water despite the fact that it turns out to be nothing like what he imagined, and becomes a celebrated hero of the Napoleonic Wars. Hijinks ensue when his cover is blown, his brother Ernst tries to take over the succession, and he realises he doesn't actually loathe Karoline, quite on the contrary, really. Karoline meanwhile has to explain a big belly away, and George sails for a place called Trafalgar... It's all delightfully off and the real George and Caroline would probably disapprove, but sometimes, certain AUs are not meant to be very accurate, just a little silly.
Less silly and as far as my research goes, as close to history as possible, my story on Henry Clinton and Mary Baddeley. I have written so much about the two already, it's almost a novel. I am fascinated by the mutual respect, suppressed affection and surprisingly good documentation there is. Theoretically, their relationship is a communist party meeting worth of red flags; a power dynamic between employer and employee, a substantial age gap, Mary being very much reliant on Clinton's protection from beng sexually harrassed by an officer in her husband's regiment and him falling in love with her while she was pregnant with her husband's child are just the most obvious ones. Regardless of all these things, both, given time, found love. Let's hope I will finish it one day so we can have the big budget adaptation i'm dreaming of ever since learning about the two...
I have a similar thing going for the Graveses, which is a little more light-hearted in that both Mrs and Mr Admiral were two very outspoken people, with Margaret in particular passing judgements on people in her letters worthy of Jane Austen novels. There is some tragedy in that they met at a point in their lives where they both seem to have still been processing the death of a beloved loved one, and both helped raise a child that was not their own. Given their eventful lives, bubbly family and their very loud personalities, however, I think this one writes itself a little easier.
A Stuart AU in which Maria Beatrice d'Este, now Queen of England, has had enough. Identifying, in her mind, her husband's unchanging licentious ways as the reason why God takes all her children from her young, she decides to commit regicide when she realises she is pregnant once more, in order to protect this child at least; because if James is dead, he can no longer commits acts displeasing God, right? The flaws in her logic aside, she makes this last desperate attempt to suffocate James, the husband who has abused her for so long, both physically and mentally, in his sleep with a cushion, but fails as he wakes up. Fleeing England in the middle of the night, Maria Beatrice manages to find a passage to the continent and makes it to The Hague, where the Prince and Princess of Orange now have a political scandal on their hands. What ensues is an intense triangular situation in which everyone is faced with ghosts of the past; Maria Beatrice, who never wanted to get married and have children, is faced by the involuntarily childless Mary who would do everything to be a mother; William by his own conduct towards Mary when they were newly-wed, which he finds himself reminded of by some things Maria Beatrice recounts of her marriage, fearing he may have mistreated Mary, and all three of them by the question of who will one day be James' heir, Mary, or the baby, if it turns out to be a boy, Maria Beatrice is about to have? Includes such memorable scenes as the one in which William feeds a toddler potential pretender a waffle while engineering his ascension to the throne during a council meeting (hey, the waffle-thing at least is based on an event and person during his own childhood, so).
I'm currently writing a little something quite light-hearted featuring Louise de Kérouaille and exploring her perspective on her relationship with Charles II, which I find quite delightful.
If any of you want to know something else about the stories (since I don't post them to AO3), feel free to ask. :)

It's been a while since I drew anything from Disgaea/NIS, so I've drawn something while thinking about the intro of Prinny: can I really be the hero?
Honestly, I'd like to make an illustration based on every stage, but realistically I don't think I will lmao.

hiya! have you watched the first part of bridgerton season 3? if so, what are your thoughts so far?
Hello hello! Yes, I have, I binged it on Thursday night after I finished work.
Overall, I really enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. I think the pacing's been good in the first half, I'm interested to see what they do with the storylines they've set up for the second half, and personally I really love the ensemble feel of the show and the way everyone's settled into their characters now.
In terms of the Polin storyline - I was expecting a bit more from the 'charm lessons' aspect, but I like that they didn't drag it out and I really love Pen and Colin's dynamic. You can see really the genuine friendship between them, how open they are with each other, how they'll work as a partnership. I loved the nods to the book - one of my favourite scenes was them recounting how they first met, and the carriage scene was perfect - and how they've focused on Colin's dawning grappling with his feelings.
What I would like to see in the second half is delving more into Colin's character, particularly; they've touched on it a bit with the passage in his journal about feeling distant and unconnected, and his uncomfortable reaction to Whistledown calling him out on putting on a facade to be accepted, but they've not really explored it. The travelling was always as much about him running away from his feelings of inadequecy and superfluousness in London as a desire to see the world, and it would be nice to get into that more. I also think Colin and Pen both to different extents still idealise each other and need to learn to accept each other as fully flawed humans that they still love.
In terms of other storylines - I was pleasantly surprised by Eloise and Cressida, and I liked that they both called each other out on certain things but I think they could delve deeper with a lot of it. In general Eloise's storylines continue to frustrate me no end because I go back and forth on whether I think the writing is attempting to move her towards a sort of Miss Congeniality moment of realising how dismissive she's been of other women and that there's value to be found in things she considers herself above even if they're not things she personally enjoys, or if the writers just lack the self-awareness to realise how Eloise's interactions with the other debs comes across in a series that is adapted from historical romance novels (a genre that's often marginalised and dismissed as vapid despite its popularity) and that markets itself as being about romance.
The use of Emma in particular as a signifier that Eloise has given up intellectual pursuits and aligned it with 'silly romance' is both infuriating and baffling. Apart from the fact that Jane Austen's works were popular enough among Regency society that she was actually asked to dedicate Emma to Prinny (and not unfeasibly named the hero George as a deliberate dig at him), her writing was very deliberately distinct from the sensationalist Gothic and Romantic fiction her contemporaries were writing. And it's an entirely different genre to modern understandings of 'romance', so for the show to use it as representative of that and then have Eloise giving it a very lukewarm response is . . . A Choice.
I was also furious at the whole scene sneering at embroidery, which again seems more like the writers lacking enough awareness to see that they're falling into the trap of disregarding and belittling traditionally feminine pursuits in order to showcase Eloise's feminism rather than it being setting up for anything. Like, God forbid that debutante actually be able to articularly explain why she loves embroidery or defend it as an art form that requires skill as much as any other creative pursuit. No, she just needs to rattle off a list of stitches to show how boring and vapid she really is.
All that said, I did like what they did with Eloise and Penelope and showed that there is both continued love and continued hurt on both sides and that they allowed them both nuance, and I'm interested to see where they go with it.
Fran and John were perfect. I'm so pleased they've given them some decent screentime and are going to spend time on John as a character, because he is so often overlooked in the fandom and seen as a stepping stone in Francesca's story. I'm looking forward to their development in the second half of the season.
I'm withholding judgement on the Violet/Lord Anderson set up; it squicks me out a little because of the Danbury/Lord Ledger affair in Queen Charlotte, but their scenes have been cute and I'm intrigued by the relationship between Agatha and Marcus and the history there.
The Featherington heir storyline is deeply unserious and I've been laughing all the way through it even if there is a small part of my brain still screaming that titles don't work that way. And similarly I love the Mondriches and have fun whenever they're on screen so I'm enjoying their plot even if, again, not how titles work.
I think my biggest complaint is Benedict's storyline, which so far seems thoroughly pointless and a waste of Luke Thompson's talents. I'm really really hoping they'll give him more to do in the second half of the season to hopefully set him up to be the lead for S4 (because he has to be the lead, they surely cannot skip over him again) and bring in hints of Sophie and where she's going to be placed in the world.
Still overall I think I'd say overall as a whole I've had more fun with these four episodes than with the previous seasons and I'm more inclined to rewatch them than the others at the moment.

Prinny - CR1 Demon
Prinny Rule Number 1! You must always include the word “Dood” in every line you say, dood!
Artwork is official art from Cross Edge, copyright Nippon Ichi.
Prinnies are the mascots of the Disgaea series and of Nippon Ichi. They’re among the lowest level demons. Worthless mortal souls with significant sins but no actual importance or aptitude may become prinnies in the afterlife, where they’re forced to work as horribly mistreated slaves for eons to pay off their karmic debt. Like most demons, they have no memory of their mortal lives beyond a vague sense of how evil and worthless they were.
A common trait of the prinnies is their upbeat attitude, lazy and unintelligent personalities, their signature pirouette spin, and frequent use of the word “dood” as an interjection in their sentences. Another memorable feature of theirs is the fact that they explode if thrown. As a result, they’re often used as cannon fodder - or, more accurately, cannon ammunition - by demonic forces.
A group of prinnies is likely to die in a massive chain reaction as they all explode.
They lack a few common demon abilities like telepathy and fire resistance, which is on purpose. See also the CR 11 prinny hero for higher level players.
Honestly, prinnies only attack with fire, not ice, in the Disgaea games, and have absolutely no penguin-themed abilities at all, so this interpretation is a bit loose. Which is true of a lot of my monster adaptations.

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Bomb (Su) Each morning, a prinny creates 1 bomb which, in the hands of the prinny, functions as a thrown splash weapon with a range increment of 20 feet. Bombs are considered weapons and can be selected using feats such as Point-Blank Shot and Weapon Focus. A bomb deals 1d6 cold damage, and a prinny adds its Constitution bonus to the damage (usually for a total of 1d6+4 cold damage). The bomb deals splash damage equal to its minimum damage (usually 5), DC 15 Reflex save negates. The save DC is Constitution-based.
In the hands of any other creature, a prinny’s bomb is useless. A prinny’s bomb becomes inert and useless 24 hours after being created.
Combustible Feathers (Ex) If a prinny takes fire damage, each of its feathers becomes a quick-burning fuse that explodes a moment later. The prinny is left naked as its feathers fly off, and the explosion causes 3d6 fire damage in a 5-ft. radius. A DC 9 Reflex save halves the damage. The prinny automatically fails the saving throw against this damage, and takes an additional 50% damage from the explosion. The save DC is Constitution-based and includes a -6 penalty.
Once a prinny explodes in this way, it temporarily loses its DR 5/cold iron, and it cannot explode again (via combustible feathers or explosive landing) until its feathers regrow. Its feathers regrow after 1 hour, causing its DR 5/cold iron to return.
Explosive Landing (Ex) If a prinny takes falling damage, it explodes on impact.
Ice Slick Charge (Su) A prinny’s speed doubles when charging on land on a flat surface or downhill. When it performs a charge on land, a prinny leaves an ice trail as the ice slick spell on spaces it moves through and adjacent spaces.
When making a charge, a prinny can attempt to overrun the target of its charge as a free action, continuing in a straight line past its target to the limit of its movement if the overrun is successful. This overrun maneuver does not provoke attacks of opportunity. If the prinny succeeds on the overrun maneuver, its movement during the charge does not provoke attacks of opportunity from the target of its charge.
Icewalking (Ex) A prinny can walk without penalty over areas of ice and snow and does not need to make Acrobatics checks to run or charge on ice.

Okay you know how I said the ‘Frankie going in a dark warehouse, guns ablaze to save honey’ here’s what I’m thinking:
He goes in, he finds her, saves her. Kills the bad guys. Looks (and feels) like the hero. Heat of the moment they hug (maybe a kiss for razzle dazzle) and the it hits honey. The shit he did and said. She slaps him. Hard across the face. No forgiveness (just yet maybe) bc we are standing on business and not just letting him back in our good graces the moment he does something nice (lol)
I’m having a moment so this is therapeutic for me 😄 lol
Why does BigFish have us in such a choke hold?
I keep going back and rereading previous chapters (for continuity which I have so far not yet mastered), and the fact this fictional man has his boot on my neck has alarmed and encouraged me. It’s not like I want to actually be in a relationship with a man who has me prisoner and I cook for him and he’s scary and mean and tall and fat and big and broad and likes being well-fed and… and… uh… w-what was I talking about?
Anyway, Prinny, your passion for BigFish is admirable and lands you at the top of the Friendos for Dark!Frankie pile. Yes, I am avoiding any and all plot points you may have mentioned.

Reading so many Regency romances is starting to feel weird because the same early nineteenth century celebrities keep popping up in the background as extras. How many times am I going to hear about Lady Jersey being sophisticated, or Beau Brummel being the sartorial aspiration for this or that romantic hero, and -- oh look -- it's HRH Prinny again, I hear he's large and he's here to flirt.
