This year's rainbow cast lineup includes Hermosa, Ragnild, Pascentia, Chartreuse, Kahu, and Valrún. (The servants in the vampire flashback are rainbow-themed, so I could've done a lineup with just them! But the book is a little more diverse than that would imply.)

broke: "genderswap" means swapping only (cis) men with (cis) women woke: "genderswap" means swapping literally any gender with literally any other gender And on that note, I switched around a bunch of Leif & Thorn characters. (No special meaning to the AU gender choices, they're just whatever I felt like drawing at the time.)

Leif & Thorn flashback: Hermosa and Dex, when they first moved in together, decorating the home. "Dexie, honey, how in the world is this not level?"

"It's tilted too far clockwise by half a degree. If you ever get spelltech eyes, you'll understand."

(Spoiler alert: these days Hermosa does have spelltech eyes, but he doesn't use the "superimposed visual grid" function as much as Dex does.)

Had the sudden realization of "wait, we haven't seen Hermosa's back in Leif & Thorn canon, that means it's not a continuity error if I give him one of those giant artscape tattoos." ...even with his brain issues, his memories from before the Montmere mission stay intact. So he wouldn't actually forget the tattoo's existence. But it was funnier this way.
