Zeus x Eurylochus - 70's au (Not sure what to call it)

I'm thinking about an AU set in the 70's where Zeus is living a double life. He and Eurylochus already have three daughters together. The oldest is Zeury at 10 years old, the middle is Eurylana at 8 years old, and the youngest is Lily at 5 years old.

(Don't ask me Zeus and Eury's ages yet because I'm not sure. And don't ask me how their daughters got here either. That's up to you how they were born.)

TW: Mentions of cheating, homophobia, and assassination attempts. That's about it.

Lore/Backstory

Eurylochus is very much aware of Zeus' other family, but he won't say anything because he's emotionally and mentally not in the mood for the drama.

Not to mention it's the 70's, gay relationships weren't accepted like that. So, the other reason Eury doesn't say anything is to make sure his and his kids' lives aren't at stake.

I'm not really sure how they met yet so don't ask. I'll give you the details once I have them.

And...Eurylochus loves Zeus. That's the third reason he won't say anything. They were childhood sweethearts so to speak but due to the times, Zeus had to marry Hera. It was an arranged marriage, so Zeus didn't really have much of a say in the matter anyway.

As for Zeus, he does love Eurylochus but doesn't have much time for him. He tries though. Genuinely.

Jobs

Of course, Zeus is a rich CEO of the city's most well-known tech company. Surely a job he worked for and DEFININETLY not a job his father gave him after he stepped down.

Eury isn't rich but he's not poor either. A well of middle class "single" dad who's a principle at his daughters' school. On the side he works at his mother's bakery.

Family/Friends

Eurylochus is the only child of a mechanic, James, and a baker, Angela. Both of his parents are aware of their son's relationship with Zeus and have mixed opinions about it.

James won't except the relationship at all nor will he acknowledge his grandchildren. Angela is more lenient though. She always wanted grandkids and well...she got them.

Angela kind of finds the irony laughable. All her life she's been told to be specific for what you wish for. She supposes she should have been specific to HOW her grandchildren came to be...and what gender she wanted her son to be with.

She's against his relationship with Zeus too but doesn't express it often.

I may change this to Eurylochus going no contact with his parents though, I'm not sure.

His friends Odysseus and Polites don't know that Zeus is the girls' father. They just know those girls belong to someone other than Eury.

At the beginning of her marriage, Hera would be so hurt when Zeus cheated on her. No amount of begging or "think of the children" could stop him. It got so bad until she just...snapped.

With every new whore he found would be a new one for her to...remove from life so to speak. With some should we kill them herself and with others she'd hire someone to do it.

Zeus just think Hera may have threatened the girls to stay away from him. He doesn't know that Hera has them assassinated.

Zeus and Hera have four children in total: Hephaestus (oldest), Athena (second oldest), Ares (middle child), and Hebe (youngest). I can't decide their ages yet so if you have any ideas let me know.

Zeus isn't exactly the greatest man in the world, especially to his children. It's clear that Athena is his favorite of the bunch...he mostly forgets about the others, especially Ares.

The only friends Zeus has been his brothers...that's it. And even they are iffy about it sometimes.

Family life

Zeus is actually a good father to his and Eury's daughters when he's around. He showers them with gifts, affection, and genuine care. Zeus does love Eurylochus, don't worry.

When he can he'll send flowers or other gifts to his address. Sometimes they'll even share a kiss or two. Maybe even a night of cuddling if their lucky.

It's rare for Zeus to be there for any holiday but when he can he goes all out. Christmas is his favorite time of year so even if he can't visit, he'll let his little girls know he loves them.

Eurylochus is of course, the disciplinary parent while Zeus is the fun one. The oldest girls favor Zeus a lot more, mainly because he buys them things when they ask for it.

Lily favors Eury more because from her perspective, he's around a lot more than Zeus is. But she likes Zeus too.

Eury is "Papa" and Zeus is "Dad"...I'll come up with more but let me know what ya'll think of this so far.

miscellaneous thoughts about the Wisdom Saga

I imagine that the fight is happening right in front of Penelope's door and god it's juicy to imagine that your son is about to be killed by these suitors, but you can't reveal yourself.

Also imagining that Penelope and Telemachus's doors have some sort of contraptions on them to make them impossible to open? That's why the suitors can't just break in, they literally don't have the mechanism to open it. Which is why they ask Telemachus to open her door. Plus it just makes sense? These are rowdy suitors who are probably wrecking shit in the main halls, they can't have them doing that in the royals' rooms.

I personally imagine Athena not looking at Telemachus during the fight at first. Like, she appears behind him back to back with her arms crossed and then she looks at him when she's done being broody because he's so sweet.

That scene on the cliff that scene on the cliff-okay first of all Ody's monologue about all he's sacrificed and all his pain I like to think has Calypso thinking about her own past during the Titan War, but ALSO-also. When he's hearing Polites, Eurylochus, and Penelope's voices idk what the stream did for it but I'M thinking of it as them tormenting him in his mind. And like, I'm imaginig that Polites looks broken because he got crushed but he also has his eyes gouged out and he's holding Tiresias's staff and has a crown of lotuses, Eurylochus has a cow's head on as well as holding the wind bag and has lichtenberg figures on him, and Penelope's lower half is detached from her with a red x between her upper body and a mermaid's tail PLUS she's got eel heads around her. You get it they represent the different saga's and the different atrocities that happened you get it.

GOD GAMES I think while Athena is talking to Hephaestus the mural behind her is probably a commemoration of that time he trapped Aphrodite and Ares in bed ("He was betrayed and then imprisoned" that part of the song) and then when she mentions "he can still build a future with those who miss him" Aglaea comes up to him and like gives him a little beverage because he's in his forge you know and that's what gets him to say release him.

This last one has like, no basis in anything-is not even APPROACHING canon, but my brain says it would be such a fun idea if like Athena is struggling to corporealize after Zeus's attack, but then you see Poseidon behind a pillar raise his hand and a (sea green) tear roles down her face and when it hits the ground it ripples and Quick Thought activates with it's clock face and THEN she's seeing the memory of Odysseus and the motivation for Poseidon is he WANTS Odysseus to be free because he WANTS to kill him.

Epic: The Musical X Life Series AU (this is just a list of who would be who, because your girl can’t draw to save a life)

It started with a ‘ wow I can kinda see life series Lizzie and Joel singing a Penelope and Ody song in the life series’ and now I have a new AU that I can’t draw because I dropped art and resigned myself to make animatics in my head instead.

(Take a shot every time I use vibes as reasoning and every time you think I’m coping over the end of wild life and epic)

Odysseus = Joel

It just fits, also I thought of Joel and Lizzie when thinking about Penelope and Ody so here we are. Also I want Joel to have his beard from last life start to grow over the course of the musical.

after jimmy (polites) dies, instead of wearing his tie around his head, we wears one of Jimmy’s canary feathers.

Penelope = Lizzie 

I mean if Joel is Ody, it just makes sense. Also idk the characters feel similar (according to my brain, which usually can’t be trusted).

vibes. Pure vibes. Also I liked the BigB watcher theory and it just works here so give him watcher wings and eyes for this. Oh and in the horse and the infant make him talk to Joel using a jack-o-lantern that appears and disappears and Joel moves around.

One of my very lovely mutuals and fellow spxepic fans recommended Craig as Posideon and the sheep as Guinea pigs (which is genius and I love btw) but then tweek as Polyphemus would be odd considering he’s Craig’s child. Polyphemus and his siblings are just giant Guinea pigs in this for now 😭

Tiresias (the prophet): Micheal (I just found out he doesn’t have a last name what) -> Tweek actually had this role first but Micheal honestly gives off emo dead prophet vibes.

Aeolus: Heidi Turner (?) OR Nichole Daniels -> I’m purely unsure of this because I also want to cast Heidi as Hera and Nichole would be a stand in (don’t get me wrong I love Nichole)

Zeus: Eric Cartman -> um. egotistical, sadistic maniac? Who does that sound like? I also like to make this epic au also a stick of truth au so Cartman is currently so powerful only because he currently possesses the stick.

Aphrodite: Bebe Stevens -> she was originally Circe and I still think she’d fit her pretty well too but I needed an Aphrodite and Ares stand in ship and Clybe was the only one that would fit

Ares: Clyde Donovan, for the shits and giggles 😭 -> I literally giggle every time I think of this casting because Clyde the crybaby as Ares is hilarious. He literally only got this role cause of Bebe. But they are both arrogant so in works in that way I guess??

Hephaestus: Christophe the Mole -> passionate weapon master who is all about loyalty and war? Christophe.

Apollo: Jimmy Valmer -> we HAVE to give the role of music god to our local favourite bard

Hera: I was going to cast Heidi here too because Zeus as Cartman and Heidi as Hera and her part in God Games would fit PERFECTLY

Antinous: either Damien or Trent Boyett 😕 -> I needed angry characters that want power and these two are what I’ve got

for other ships that I enjoy: DioSthe and Patrochilles (QPR or romantic, I enjoy them either way), Ares x Aphrodite, Ariadne x Dionysus, Apollo x Hyacinthus, EROS X PSYCHE. Ctimene x Eurylochus, Laertes x Anticlea, Periboea x Icarius, Tyndarius x Leda, Andromeda x Perseus, Hector x Andromache, Telemachus x Polycaste, many many more but I DO enjoy these ones a lot :3

For BROTPS:

Penelope and Helen, (they are technically related but you know) Odysseus and Menelaus (THEY ARE HOMIES), Helen and Hector, The Virgin Goddesses definitely have brunch together (aroace icons), Ganymede and Hebe (you know they have so much gossip). The Achaeans as a whole, I love comradery. Telemachus and Pesistratus too.

For NOTPS:

OdyDio (I don't think I've ever hated a ship so much before, sorry not sorry lol. If you bring up pederasty, I'll kill you.), Helen x Paris/Deiphobus, Odysseus x Circe/Calypso, Hephaestus x Aphrodite, Odysseus x Polites (My Odysseus is Penromantic/Pensexual and my Polites is an AroAllo mad lad lol. they are homies though), Penelope x the suitors, (...ew :/ ) Penelope x Circe (EWWWW), Telemachus x Antinous. Anything with the Tele-GONE-y
